A/N: Well, sorry for the delays on this Readers. I would have had this posted last month but a bunch of life problems, some I'm still dealing with, hit me one after the other. It's so bad at the moment to where I have to split the baby, and make this a two-parter, so sorry for the blue-balls.
Anyway, I felt it was time to Focus on Garnet, or rather, Sapphire, and Lapis for this one. I know this was a high point of contention among fans of the series and some (including myself) don't really like shipping Garnet with other characters, more or less respecting her wishes of just letting be the experience she wants to be… Ruby and Sapphire however are exempted from this agreement in my mind. Honestly, if I had to choose a character other than Steven or Ruby to ship with Sapphire, in a serious manner, I would probably choose someone like Peridot. For Ruby, it's pretty hard to work with someone less than her in a serious manner. Sapphire pretty much centers her personality to where it is reasonable and tolerant. Maybe if there was a less bitchy Aquamarine Gemstone or we got to spend more time with Skinny Jay and Carnelian then maybe we have more people to work with. Sidenote: Skinny Jasper and Carnelian are two of the most underrated Gems in the series and Also, a lot of people had asked me if the plotline with Lapis was going anywhere. Well, this is where that will be addressed as well. Anyway, let's see if I manage to do good at not pissing off half the fanbase with this Segment, because oh boy the Redacted version this situation is so… spicy. Please enjoy.
"Perfect." Garnet set the snack tray on the countertop. The ebony fusion admired her handiwork and looked over the mini banquet. She was sure to grab some of Steven's favorites. For drinks, she grabbed two bottles of Drink Up. She also bought two tubs of Sea-Salt Ice Cream and for snacks there was Gosho Chips, Cheese Balls, some grapes, and a bunch of different types of Bagel Sandwiches. There was even a stash of Fire Salt nearby since she knew he would get the occasional craving for something spicy. She was going to have to remind herself to thank Amethyst once again for providing. Just like every Movie Night she had with him; She was going to make sure this one was flawless.
"We really outdid ourselves this time." An air of pride filled her voice, with a hint of excitement. Satisfied with her work, Garnet bathed her body in a bright, red-neon, light. As it dimmed, it revealed her new attire, a dark red bathrobe with black accents and white mane that hugged her breasts and hips snuggly. Now all she has to do is wait for the main attraction.
"Garnet, is everything ready?" A voice said from the bathroom.
'Right on cue.' Garnet's grin grew slightly. "Yes, my Cutie Pie."
"Ugh!" Steven feinted his annoyance as he entered the living room with his own Pink and White Robe, still trying to adjust the knot. "I swear Garnet, one of these days, I'll get you to stop calling me that."
"Never." Garnet giggled as she walked up to him, giving Steven a tight hug, lifting the young man's face into her bosom. "Not when you look so cute in your robe."
"Hey! You said I looked manly when you picked this out for me." Steven pouted as he tried to push himself free from his friend's grasp.
"Well, you can be both cute and manly." Garnet joked. The hybrid could only groan in response.
"Did you finish freshening up, Steven?" Garnet said, taking a quick whiff of his wet hair. Her nose caught the fragrance of mint, cherries, and roses. She couldn't help herself as she buried her face in his black locks. Her hands roamed his soft and damp skin, pinching his cheeks that burned with a red blush. Steven could hear her humming in silent ecstasy and considered just letting her work it out of her system. Ever since she came out of her room, she has become quite "touchy" when it comes to how she interacted with him. As awkward as it was, he was just happy she didn't fear him. However, after a minute of basically being a pile of clay on a spinning wheel, he felt like she indulged herself enough and began pulling himself away.
"Uh-huh! Brushed my teeth and everything. Now would you please let me go?" A soft smile appeared on Steven as he managed to wiggle himself free from Garnet's stranglehold. He breathed a sigh as he fixed his hair and readjusted his robe, finding that the knot was completely undone, and his private region exposed. He hoped Garnet didn't notice as he heard her laugh softly.
"Sorry about that Steven. I can't help but make up for lost time." Garnet looked down at her companion with a loving smile as he just became more and more flustered. "Call it a motherly instinct."
Steven just groaned as he finished straightening himself. "I'm getting too old to be your baby, Garnet."
The larger woman moved his black wavy hair aside and placed a kiss on his forehead, ignoring his protest. "You'll always be my baby, Cutie Pie."
At this point, he didn't even argue with her. "Sure thing, Garnet. Can we just start the movie already?" Steven couldn't say he didn't want the attention, he just wished she didn't constantly do this type of thing sometimes.
"Come." The ebony gemstone grabbed him by the hand, lacing their fingers with his, and led him to the cot upstairs. Garnet purposely put a notable sway and bounce in her step, leaving Steven dumbfounded but with no choice as he followed her to his old bedroom.
"Wait, we aren't watching it down in the living room?! Wouldn't it be better since we have the large flat screen down here?"
"The couch wouldn't be large enough for you to enjoy your dessert if we decided to use the TV downstairs."
"Dessert? But isn't the Living Room a lot closer to the Kitchen and food?"
Garnet just giggled, seemingly ignoring his question.
'The Dessert is right in front of you, my Cutie Pie.'
"My darling…" Lapis whispered as she floated over the couch in the loft of the barn. The atmosphere was humid as water leaked from the old roof as the rain poured from above. Cradled in her slender arms was her Barn Mate, sleeping in her form. "... rest peacefully in your angel's arms…"
A bolt of lightning crashed in the invisible storm clouds of the night sky. Lapis saw Peridot's face form a nervous scowl as her body shuddered and stirred in her sleep.
'Even after all your time here, storms still bother you…' Lapis thought as she brushed her fingertips across her love's thin cheek. 'And yet, you still cling to me and find sanctuary in my wings.'
The blue gem shushed Peridot softly as she extended her water wings and allowed them to cover themselves. She stroked her lime-green, blonde hair and placed a kiss on her dark-green gemstone. The shorter gemstone smiled as she fell back into a peaceful sleep, not knowing that Lapis returned in kind. She took her free hand and started running her slender finger over the choker around Peridot's neck. It was a gift from her. Something to remind Lapis that no matter what, Peridot would always be faithful to her and belong solely to her as a partner. In its center, on the buckle, there was a blue teardrop keychain, which held a picture Peridot took of the duo together watching TV. Peridot was super animated in the photo, pointing at a moment in Camp Pining Hearts she thought was amazing. While Lapis was more composed, smiling softly as she just laid back in the air, enjoying how much Peridot was so invested in something she thought was decent at best.
The blue gem remembered a time when she despised the technician. Just being near her used to fill her with so much rage and disdain. Her voice was like a nasally shriek that would just never end and the arrogance it carried every time she spoke was torture. At first, Lapis could barely stand to be in the same room for more than a minute, much less live in the barn with Peridot. But, of course, all it took was Steven to change her mind on the matter.
If Steven told her to fly to Homeworld and back, she would do it twice over without hesitation. Steven was just that source of levity she needed from how much cruelty that her existence weighed on her. He was always there to carry any burden or pain she had and take it upon himself to fix it and heal her. She knew that she wasn't special in that regard, but did have to admit that she thanked the stars that guided her to him. The hybrid was both someone she admired as a friend, and worshiped as a god in her eyes. She just wished that she didn't screw it all up that day.
{"Steven! Just wait… At least let me explain!"
"There is nothing to explain here, Lapis! Look at her! Look… At… Her!"
"But… I thought this is what you wanted. It's what we both wanted!"
"I didn't want this! I asked you to watch her so you could work out your differences. Like you did with Peridot. I didn't tell you to torture her to the point where she's afraid of her own shadow. Why would you think I wanted any of this?!"
"Because…"}
" ...she deserved it." Lapis whispered as she held onto Peridot tighter, careful not to wake her from her slumber, as she reminisced somberly on her last interaction with her idol. She hated it whenever her little Peridot saw her cry. " And I'm sorry, My Diamond. But I don't regret a second of my sins."
Suddenly a bright beam of light slammed in the ground outside, breaking Lapis out of her trance.
"Lazuli!" Amethyst shouted over the crashing thunder from outside the barn. "Where the hell are you?! Come the fuck out here right now!"
"Amethyst?!..." Lapis whispered in surprise.
"Lapis?" Peridot said in a groggy tone. "Is that Amethyst shouting?"
Lapis didn't respond, instead she grabbed onto Peridot and dive bombed down, hiding themselves behind the old pickup truck. The blue gem peaked her head around the side, her eyes fixated on the barn doors that were quickly being beat down.
"Lapis.. What the heck is going on?!" The green gemstone asked in fear and confusion. "Why is Amethyst shouting and trying to break into the barn?!"
"Peridot, I need you to stay here and find a place to hide. I'm going to go outside and see what's going on."
Peridot could see the anger in Lapis's eyes as she gritted her teeth at the doors. "What?! What are you planning on doing?"
Lapis said nothing as she continued to fixate on the wooden doors, as they waned and splintered with each blow they received. Only thing on her mind was what she was going to do to Amethyst for daring to disturb their slumber and personal time.
"Lapis, why won't you answer me?!" Peridot cried, pulling on her companion's slender arms.
"Peridot, I don't have time to explain. Just do as I say, and when you see an opening, I want you to run for the warp pad and get Steven here now!"
"What?! No way! Lapis, I believe it is in your best interest that I stay here with you. We don't know what is going on or why Amethyst is here. Perhaps, if we just communicate with her, I'm sure we'll be able to-"
"I know why she is here, Peri. She's here for me, and she clearly doesn't want to talk."
"Lapis…"
Lapis turned to look at her roommate. The short gemstone was scared, and shaken by the events unfolding. The taller woman placed her hand on Peridot's cheek, wiping away the stray tear. Suddenly, she hugged Peridot tightly.
"I don't want you to get involved. This is my problem to deal with. Not yours."
Peridot returned the hug to the slender gemstone.
"Please, just promise me you won't hurt her Lappy. She's still my friend after all."
"I can't promise that, but I'll do my best to hold myself back for your sake."
Lapis stood up, unfurling her water wings as she looked over at the nearly splintered wooden door. "Now stay here, and remember what I said: Don't come out until it's safe for you to do so. Okay?!"
"Okay…" Peridot said as she looked down like a scolded child, causing much heartache to Lapis.
"Nothing bad is going to happen to me, Peri. You of all people should know I can handle myself. Besides, you aren't much of a fighter. I don't need to split my focus between Amethyst and keeping you safe."
"True, but I still worry."
"Then don't worry. Our safety should be my concern, not yours. Besides, tomorrow is Meep-Morp Day this week, and I'm not going let Amethyst's temper tantrum get in the way of spending time with you. So, be a good girl, and hide out until it's safe. Can you do that for me?"
"Sure thing, My Lapis." Peridot affirmed, smiling softly as she let go of her guardian angel.
With that, Lapis aimed for a hole in the roof as she flew up to exit.
"I love you!" Peridot shouted as she turned around to find a hiding place.
Lapis paused for a second, looking down at the empty space, before continuing her flight. A small tear fell into the calamity of the rainstorm as she made her way outside to face her visitor.
"Yeah… Right there, Garnet…" Steven purred as his company massaged his shoulders in the darkened room. The only source of light was the old cinderblock of a Television that displayed the dark-haired Samurai with the twin-blade Katana fighting an army of ninjas. The hybrid and the fusion always picked Lonely Blade as their go to film for their Movie-Nights. Not because it was their favorite, or really any good when they gave them any real thought to their plot, but because of the sheer number of films there was in the series. After their 3rd Movie Night. It became a personal challenge to finish it all in one sitting. Their current record was making it to the end of Lonely Blade IV, and they were currently at the second installment.
"Does my Cutie-Pie enjoy his Mommy giving him a massage?" The taller woman said as she rested her chin on his soft hair, continuing to alternate her grips on his body.
"Garnet, I'll be whatever you want me to be if you keep this up." Steven said in drunken bliss.
However, it was safe to say that they both lost focus on the film, as Garnet used her hands to warm and cool Steven's now relaxed muscles. He fell back into her breasts, both their garments now secured around their nether region for his modesty. Currently, he did not care that her chest was exposed and pressing against his form. Her fingers roamed over his body, and she held back the urge to kiss his exposed neck as she kneaded and worked him into dough, using fire and ice powers to change between heavy and hot gropes of his nerves and cool and soft rubs on his milky skin. The hybrid just let himself melt like butter in her grasps.
"Hehe. You are so adorable, Steven."
'Such a shame I only get you for one night a week, my Cutie-Pie.' The soft voice in Garnet's head cooed as her fingertips began to drift lower on his back. They dribbled along his ribcage before she slightly squeezed the tiny baby fat that clung to the sides of his abdomen, getting a sharp giggle for her efforts. She loved how he was just as ticklish as ever. She clasped her palms over his love-handles. Garnet could feel herself inching closer and closer to his soft robes, and that hidden treasure.
'I could give you this pleasure, and so much more. If only you stayed here. If only you stayed with me…'
'Sapphy, restraint…' Another voice chimed in, causing the fusion's motions to stop just as her fingertips breached Steven's clothes.
'Sorry hun…' Sapphire said bashfully. 'I guess I got caught up in the moment.'
Ruby sighed in mild annoyance. 'It's fine, but you know the rules; Keep it above the waist and no lip-on-lip action, and I'll let you have your… "fun" with our Steven.'
'Right. Right… Once again, thanks for letting me do this with him. I know it's not easy for you to do this. I remember how adamant you were when I first approached you about it.'
The red Gemstone looked through Garnet's eyes at that relaxed smile that was plastered on Steven's face as he enjoyed the massage. His brown eyes cracked open, and they looked into the fusion's own.
"You give the best back rubs." He sighed.
Ruby couldn't help but smile back at her old friend lovingly. 'Well, back then, he was such a butt. Always held an air of arrogance. He did whatever the heck he wanted and to hell with whatever anyone had to say about it. I mean, you remember how Pearl and he were constantly at each other's throat?'
Sapphire giggled lightly at the memories. While it could get nasty at times if one of them went out of line, she could've sworn that back then it was like watching children crushing on each other. She wondered if they were ever alone together in a small space, would they have sorted their frustrations in a different way. 'Yeah, I indeed remember.'
'But now, I can see why you like him. It's hard to believe he was the same person.'
'I don't know. There is something about that "roguish" charm that gets me… flustered.' The Blue Gem admitted. 'It's kinda why I fell for you.'
Ruby blushed at the comment. 'Well, I prefer him like this. He's sweet, kind, and just… nice to be around. Sorta reminds me of you.'
"Garnet?" Steven said, leaning back on her as he lightly tapped her visors.
The fusion was taken out of her internal conversation as she focused back on her friend. "Sorry about that, Cutie-Pie. I didn't mean to stop. I kinda spaced out there. I'll get back to it."
"That's fine. I think I'll turn into Cookie Dough if you keep going. I hope you don't mind if I rest here as we watch the movie."
"Of course. I never miss the opportunity to snuggle up with you."
"Likewise." Steven said as he adjusted his robe over his shoulders. Inwardly, he sighed, thankful that she stopped her amazing work. He adjusted his robe, hoping to hide his throbbing arousal from her view.
"I take it that this isn't a friendly visit?" Lapis said as she floated behind Amethyst in the entryway. The lack of care that was on display rivaled the purple Quartz's fury. "May I ask why you find it important to bother me in the middle of the night? Shouldn't you be with your… "boyfriend" right now?"
"You!" Amethyst's magenta eyes burned with a dark and vengeful heat. "You absolute bitch! You know exactly why I'm here."
"Uhhh… going to have to remind me exactly what I should be knowing here. If this is about Steven, then don't bother. He refuses to even let me touch him, much less f-"
SNAP
The water nymph was sent flying backwards into the rain outside from Amethyst's lightning-fast strike. The blue gem skipped across the ground like a flat rock on still water.
'Well, she's upset.' She thought in her mind as she landed.
Lapis started to recover from the blow, finding herself in a puddle of muddy water. She grimaced as she could feel the burn from the whip's mark as it started from the left side of her abdomen all the way to the right side of her cheek. The blunette heard the faint taps of wet footsteps approaching her. Lapis looked up to see Amethyst, slowly marching towards her. Her iconic Cat of Nine-Tails firmly wrapped up in her left hand. Her eyes were hidden from view due to her wet hair.
"First of all; Say one more word about Steven, and I promise you, the next one won't be a warning. Are we clear?"
'Hmmm? This isn't about Steven? Weird, but I'll play along for now…"
"Crystal..." Lapis said, venom laced her words.
"Good. Second…" Amethyst said before wrapping the blue gemstone in her weapon. She then began spinning sideways in her ball-form, purple flames evaporating the raindrops that touched her as she built up an unrealistic amount of speed. Lapis's vision was a blurry mess as she was held in place by her attacker, before suddenly crashing into the bed of the pickup truck. The windows exploded and the alarm blared as she pulled herself out of the dented metal and chipped paint.
'Okay, this is starting to get annoying. What is her problem anyway?' Lapis rubbed her head, shaking off the daze. 'That one actually hurt.'
"… That one was for Jasper, you fucking psycho!" Amethyst yelled as she dashed after her.
"Ooooh…" Lapis began giggling in a creepy voice. Amethyst was slightly taken aback by her, but her scowl remained as she continued after her. Before she could jump up and go for an overhead swing, she felt two water tentacles wrap themselves around each of her short legs. Before she could move her arms, another wrapped around them. Amethyst struggled violently against her restraints, and Lapis's laughter grew louder as she descended into madness, knowing that her efforts were going to be fruitless. "...so that's what this is all about. This is about your girlfriend."
"Let me go! Let. Me! GO!" Amethyst demanded as she continued to fight.
Lapis just smiled sadistically at her captive.
"How about… no?" She flicked one of her fingers, causing the water to pull her arms and legs backwards, causing the Quartz even more discomfort. Lapis's smile grew larger as Amethyst screamed in pain. "That's it. Sing just like she used to." After a few moments, the blue Gemstone relented.
Amethyst gasped as she went limp in her bindings. She stared daggers into Lapis's malicious eyes.
"Wow Amethyst. I never knew you were a sucker for bondage." The slender woman said jovially. "Then again, I guess the whip should have been a giveaway."
"Fuck… you…" Amethyst spat.
Lapis smiled at her as she reached toward her prey. The purple Gemstone tried to turn her head away, but she found herself unable to gain an inch of distance. Amethyst felt her captor pinch her cheek playfully,
"Ha. Flattering, but no thanks. But really Amethyst? Fighting me, alone, while it's raining? Not your brightest choice. Then again, you've never been the smart one of the team, right?" Lapis let go before tilting another finger, pulling apart her stubby legs. "Really should just leave the thinking to Pearl."
Lapis smiled as she could see the anger rise in the magenta irises. 'Then again, she doesn't hold half the brainpower my Peridot does.' She inwardly cooed at the thought of her partner. Thankfully, she wouldn't be present for this. As much as she loved her little camper, she couldn't be sure that she would be able to control herself if she attempted to intervene. Honestly, she was more than happy to let bygones be bygones with Amethyst, since Peri considered her a "friend". She did look after her, along with Steven, when she first joined the Crystal Gems after all.
"I don't need anyone's help kicking your ass, Lapis!" Amethyst shouted as she continued her attempt to rip herself away from the blue gemstone's grasp.
Unfortunately, the purple quartz attacked her first. Part of Lapis understood the reasoning though. If someone had treated Peridot the same way she treated Jasper, then she would guarantee that death would be the greatest mercy she denies them. But this is Jasper we were talking about. The "Perfect Warrior of Homeworld". The same Jasper that took glee in crushing everyone that dared stand against her. A gem took pleasure in pulverizing and destroying anyone in her path to their very core. She saw the joy in the orange quartz's eyes as she bared her fangs in a sadistic grin as she put her through interrogation. Was it not right to only return the favor when the opportunity presented itself?
"Right, I can see that you got it all under control. Was that before or after you got trapped?"
"Heh, I think it was right before I threw you around and left that nasty scratch across your body."
"Yeah, that reminds me. One moment." Lapis closed her eyes, and the air began to shift and swirl around her. Amethyst was left stunned as the raindrops stopped in place and began flying towards the blunette. They created a misty vortex around her and slowly merged into her. Through the haze, the purple Gem saw her wounds heal and clothing mending. After finishing, the swirl dissipated, revealing a fresh and clean Lapis, with no signs of injury or damage present. She inspected her fingernails. "There we go."
"What the… How?!"
The blue Gem just smiled as she looked over her own body, admiring her work. "Oh Amethyst, Steven is not the only one with self-healing. Throughout my time on Earth, I have grown and learned new things about my powers. Powers that make me superior to my sister Gemstones." She flashed a gaze over at her purple captive. What Amethyst didn't know was how much concentration it took to perform such a move. Thankfully, the purple quartz was too shocked by the performance to notice that her binds waned in strength. Again, she wasn't the brightest gem of the group. "Superior to an overcooked runt like you."
"Shut Up!" Amethyst shouted, as a new fire in her burned as she thrashed about in her restraints. A small wave of steam began to emanate from her liquid bonds.
"Touchy aren't we? I'm surprised. I mean, you let Jasper call you that…"
The comment only made Amethyst' rage more intense. Her voice dripped with venom as she focused her eyes on the blue Gemstone. "I swear Lapis, if you say one more word about her, I'll…"
"You'll what?" The slender woman interjected. The arrogance was sickening as she spoke to her captive. "Make all the threats you like Amethyst, but you and I both know you couldn't do a thing to me. You can't beat me all by yourself. And it is obvious who has control here." Lapis emphasized her point by allowing her tentacles to slither down Amethyst's stubby limbs, as she still struggled to break free. "And I, on the other hand, could easily remove you with little issue. I didn't want to, but perhaps I can take out some of my frustration on you for stealing my friend from me instead."
"Steven wouldn't let you get away with it!"
"And who would tell him? Certainly not you! And you were dumb enough to come here alone, picking a fight with me. But don't worry about Steven, Amethyst. After he has his little cry over you going "missing", I'll make sure to be there to comfort him on those lonely nights, until you're nothing but a distant memory." Lapis sighed heavenly at the thought of that potential future with her friend.
However, that was the last straw for Amethyst, as she suddenly burst into violet flames, vaporizing her water bindings. The light of the inferno filled the barn, enveloping the water witch in her glow. The quartz's white hair lifted and danced in her vivid purple aura as she descended on the wooden floor of the old barn, causing small embers to appear around her boots.
Lapis's eyes began to recover from the flash as she focused on this new form of Amethyst. The purple quartz's breathing was heavy and animalistic. The ends of her hair were standing up and any that fell outside the violet flames were burned off. Her magenta eyes were accented with tiny fire-like shaped irises, and from the way they stared at her, if she could set the blue gemstone ablaze with her gaze only, then she would have been cremated by now. Lapis recognized that form.
'That aura… it's like the one Jasper used to use when she fought.'
"Lapis… Lazuli…" Amethyst growled as she gripped her whip's handle with such strength it cracked the crystal that covered it. She slowly lifted one of her feet forward and took a step. She began to mindlessly shuffle to her target. Shaking herself from the shock, the blue gemstone simply stood back up in defiance.
"That's an impressive light show, Amethyst." Lapis stated, her neutral face returning as she raised her hand towards her aggressor. "But I think we should douse out those flames before you hurt yourself."
Using more effort than she thought she needed to, she collected several hundred raindrops outside in a large rotating sphere of water. Amethyst didn't pay her any mind as she continued to advance towards Lapis.
"Too easy…" The blue gemstone smirked as she launched the liquid cannonball at the purple quartz, only to have her chuckles die in her throat as it instantly evaporated before even touching the purple flames. Lapis was left stunned as Amethyst got closer, seemingly not even noticing the attack.
"Lapis!" Amethyst roared as she lashed her Cat of Nine Tails at her. Lapis barely found the time to dodge the strike, not without the sacrifice of one of her water wings and a scornful heat burn on her left shoulder. The blue gemstone rolled clumsily on the wooden floor of the barn, wincing from the excruciating pain. She used her one good wing to cushion her fall, allowing her to stop.
"What… What on Earth is that heat made of?!" Lapis exclaimed as she struggled to focus on anything but the pain in her arm. Even though she could feel it there in her hand as she gripped it, it felt like it was cleaved off with a sword dipped in lava. Lapis passed a glance at her previous location, only to see it showered in a line of dark purple flames, and the bed of the old pickup was split in half from the force of the attack and the heat was melting the metal frame into a molten ooze.
Ice filled her chest as she realized that if she had just stood there or, Blue Diamond forbid, tried to shield herself from the attack, she wouldn't have been poofed; Her gemstone would have been split like a soft butter on the receiving slash of a hot knife. To make matters worse, she wasn't even sure if Peridot was still behind them in front of the truck or not.
Lapis turned her fearful gaze at Amethyst, who was standing at the edge of the blaze like a demon. Flames licked her limbs and bits of her white hair was being singed. Amethyst's purple gem was pulsating violently, almost as blinding as a light cannon.
"Lapis… Lazuli… Lapis… Lazuli!" The quartz repeated as if it was a mantra. It was like she wasn't even aware of what she was doing, only that she missed.
"Well... ugh... She's clearly unstable." Lapis needed to move this outside just in case Peridot was still in here, plus if she was going to heal this time, she needed direct contact with a source of water without manipulating it. She wasted too much energy with her earlier displays of power, a cocky decision she was regretting right now.
Using the last bit of strength to stand up, not without buckling her knee slightly, she formed a fresh pair of wings, and began floating in place.
"Fine. If you want me…" Lapis declared before jetting past her, heading towards the exit. "...then come and get me!" She looked back to see Amethyst running on all fours, quickly gaining ground.
Jasper stood on the bank of a darkened lake in Amethyst's room. She stared off into space as the sounds of a small wave shifting below her boots filled her worried mind. It was a nightmare. A simple nightmare, and the truth that caused her love to storm out of The Temple.
"Amethyst…" The orange quartz whispered as she clasped her hands together, as if to pray. "Please don't do what I think you're doing…"
