In the kitchen, Alicia and Blood were handing him a glass of fresh lemonade with lemon slices, mint leaves and ice cubes, and a black and white striped straw peeking out. "Thank you" said the wolf and drank the lemonade which he liked very much. "I have to say that this lemonade is the best I've ever had in my life," Alicia was very pleased.

"Glad to hear it" said Alicia who was in the process of washing up. "My godmother showed me how to do it" Alicia mentioned as she turned to him. The three cups had all finished the lemonade except for Mugman and were upstairs to see what was taking Elder Kettle so long. But the two adults thought nothing of it and continued to talk to each other.

"It's not in here" Upstairs Cuphead opened a cupboard in which there was nothing but an open package of rat poison. RAT-TOX was written on the package with a prohibition sign of a rat on it. "He moved it again" said Mugman slightly annoyed and drinks his Lemonade as Cuphead closed the closet door. Cuppy opened another closet but there was only packaging. "Nope. Not here" he closed the door while the others went downstairs into the living room.

Mugman walked over to the sofa and lifted up the right seat cushion. Under it, next to dust, was a bitten lollipop and a peppermint candy. But not what the three were looking for "Not under here either". The three continued to search and found nowhere for what they were looking for. Upstairs, all the cupboards and shelves had been searched. But nowhere were the things the three cups were looking for. Therefore, the three decided to go to the bedroom of Elder Kettle who was fast asleep and had apparently forgotten to give the three their reward for their hard work.

He slept like a rock and did not hear the door to his bedroom open. No, he just turned to the side and slept peacefully. the three cups caught sight of something. Their eyes wandered from Elder Kettle to the cookie jar that was on the shelf above his bed. "Bingo!" said Cuphead.

The three of them tiptoed toward the bed so as not to wake up Elder Kettle. The three had to get to the cookies without waking Elder Kettle, of course. Cuphead pointed his finger upwards and suggested climbing over the nightstand next to Elder Kettle's bed. Mugman and Cuppy nodded. The former made a robber's ladder to push Cuphead up so he could get on top of the nightstand.

Cuphead lifted his left foot and...

Crack

The three heard the cracking sound and guessed what happened. Cuphead slowly looked down and saw a part of Elder Kettle's glasses on which he was standing with his foot.

Alicia and Blood were still in the kitchen talking when they heard someone running down the stairs from upstairs. Or several to be exact. Confused, Alicia looked out of the kitchen and saw the three cups in the living room. Cuphead and Mugman were both holding something in their hands that Alicia had trouble seeing. However, as she approached the three, she saw what the object was.

"Aw, jeez" said Mugman. "Jeez indeed we need to fix the glasses fast!" said Cuppy. Cuphead agreed with him "We gotta get these fixed before Elder Kettle wakes up". But the three suddenly felt themselves being stared at, so they turned around. "What do you mean with 'You broke the glasses'?" Alicia asked, staring angrily at the three. Cuphead tried to hide the glasses behind his back while he and the other two grinned nervously at Alicia. However, the young adult was not as easily fooled as the three hoped. The wolf was not intimidated either.

Cuphead was about to answer the question Alicia had asked him when the five heard a loud groan coming from Elder Kettle's room. It was Elder Kettle waking up. Cuphead, Cuppy and Mugman reacted in panic, not knowing what to do. They didn't want to get angry with him for breaking his glasses. Actually, they just wanted to collect their reward, which Elder Kettle had forgotten because he was asleep in bed.

Alicia tried to calm them down. "Hey, don't panic, we'll figure it out somehow," she said. That gave Cuphead an idea. "Hey tell me Blood" the wolf turned to him. "Couldn't you use a spell to fix the glasses?" the cup asked him with thick pupils in his eyes that resembled puppy eyes. Mugman and Cuppy followed suit. But Alicia, who was standing behind the three, shook her head in annoyance.

The wolf knew why, because if he fixed the glasses now, the three cups could take advantage of this and use him for every broken vase, every destroyed radio and every mess in their bedroom to avoid any work. "I could, but I think since you caused the damage, you should fix it too," he said and crossed his arms. The three brothers were more than shocked when they heard this. But the panic got worse "Boys, Alicia, Blood have you seen my glasses?" asked Elder Kettle from above.

Confused and not knowing what to do, the three cups first ran into themselves until Cuphead felt Alicia's hand and grabbed it before running out of the house with her, Cuppy and Mugman, leaving the wolf alone with the now blind Elder Kettle who was slowly coming down the stairs and scanning the walls to find his way into the living room. "No, no, Kettle. You lost 'em somewhere" he said as he scratched his head.

With his right hand he held on to the door frame while with the other he sensed his surroundings like a blind man. "Just like you..." he thundered into the door frame. "...always do" he finished the sentence as he straightened his spout which was bent by the force. "Oh! There you are" he said and walked closer to the couch where he saw Cuphead, Mugman and Cuppy.

Or that's what he thought, because in reality there were only three dummies sitting on the sofa that looked like the three cups. Blood didn't know where they came from, but he used his magic to make Elder Kettle think it was the three cups and not the dummies made of three flour sacks, three buckets with their faces painted on them and a cardboard roll that resembled their straws. "Okay, boys. Listen. Stay put. I'll find 'em" said Elder Kettle. "Last thing I need is you three stepping on 'em. Got it?" The dummies said nothing and did not move.

Blood hoped that Elder Kettle would buy it, otherwise there would be more problems for the five of them. Elder Kettle sniffled "Wow. You're actually listening for once" he wiped away a tear "Thank you boys". The Wolf exhaled in relief as Elder Kettle continued to walk blindly through the house. "Ow!" said the kettle as he ran into something. Blood shrugged and followed Elder Kettle through the house to prevent him from hurting himself even more.

Meanwhile, in Inkwell City, Alicia, who was unintentionally dragged by Cuphead, headed to an optometrist to repair Elder Kettle's glasses. Alicia suggested it to the three cups on the way to city. "It should be just around the corner!" said Cuphead as he ran ahead, glasses in hand. Alicia followed him and saw the building not far from the four of them. Well, actually it was only one building away. It was the red building with big golden glasses over the entrance. The sign said OPTICAN. The shop window showed different models of glasses and sunglasses.

But one thing bothered Alicia. It was quiet and empty in the city. Otherwise it was always very crowded in Inkwell City. But now it was quiet. Almost as if something bad had happened. Please don't tell me that... Alicia shook her head. No, it's not the devil's fault. No, surely there was a reason for this unnatural silence.

The four went into the store where they met the store owner. An anthropomorphic screwdriver with a face at the top and arms around 50% of the way down from her tip to the top of her handle which ist maroon in colour. Her outfit consists of a pale yellow blouse with short, puffy sleeves, and on her hands are white gloves.

She heard the bell attached to the door ring that customers had come in. She turned around and saw the four approaching her. "What can I do for you?" she asked. "We'd need to get a pair of glasses fixed, really quick!" Alicia said as Cuphead handed her the broken glasses. She looked at them more closely before looking to Alicia and the cups. "So how did all this happen?" she asked as Mugman whispered it in her non-existent ear.

"Let me get this straight" She held the glasses at one end, which astonished Alicia. Yes, hold the glasses so that they fall apart again! Alicia growled slightly annoyed as she looked at the optician."You mean to tell me you three couldn't get a cookie jar from a sleeping old man?" the owner asked the three cups as the bottom glass fell off the glasses.

Alicia just rolled her eyes in annoyance while the three cups looked at her in annoyance. Well Cuphead and Cuppy were annoyed Mugman in turn looked curiously over the sales counter. "Look, lady, can you fix'em or not?" asked Cuphead annoyed. "Of course" awnsered the shopkeeper. She took the broken glasses in both her hands and was about to turn around, but she gave both Cuphead and Alicia a telling off. "But I don't like your tone and your look young lady!". All three cups were shocked when they heard the latter and could not close their mouths in shock. Cuphead's tone was one thing but insulting Alicia was clearly going too far for the three cups. Alicia, in turn, was just confused by the optometrist's statement.

She hopped over to a countertop that was behind the sales counter and took a closer look at the damage behind a magnifying glass. While she did that, Alicia looked at the rest of the glasses in the store. Cuphead and Cuppy blows a raspberry while Mugman stuck out his tongue. Alicia heard it and just shook her head. It wasn't long before Mugman joined her, looking at a few models of glasses as well. Some of them already looked very interesting. Once because these were models for other toons but also how they looked. One pair of glasses was extra large while another was very small. One had an extremely long curved temple while the other had only one temple on one side.

"Do you actually wear glasses Alicia?" Mugman asked her. She looked down at him. "Not really but I should be wearing them" she said. This confused Mugman a bit "And why don't you wear them?" he asked her. Alicia thought. Actually she could see well but when she was in middle school she had to wear glasses so she couldn't see so well from far away. However, this only made the bullying worse than before and the term "four-eyes" was also thrown at her.

That's why when she entered high school, she stopped wearing her glasses to avoid being called "four-eyed Alice.". "Kindly turn that down. I hate music!" said the shopkeeper, which confused the four. They didn't hear any music. "We're not playing music" said Cuppy. Alicia agreed with him when she suddenly heard upbeat jazz music getting louder and louder as the frontdoor opens and someone entered the store.

Wait is that...? Alicia looked twice to make sure she didn't look wrong, but yes, she looked right.

An anthropomorphic light yellow chalice with a white and gold striped straw similar to Mugman's. Her eyes are also similar to him only with eyelashes and a beauty mark on the corner of her right eye. She wears a black shirt with a white collar and a seafoam green skirt. She also wears a pair of orange Mary Janes. Alicia didn't have to look twice to know that it was Ms. Chalice who just entered the store and jumped on a ladder and started singing.

When you're blue and feeling down. Spread that sunshine all around

Chalice jumped down from the ladder, landed on the sales counter where she started dancing. Or was it rather tap dancing? Alicia didn't know and was confused like the three cups. She also danced with her feet too fast for Alicia to see. Almost like Sonic the hedgehog when he runs fast as lightning.

Turn that frown upside down. And sail across a rainbow!

The chalice went to the shopkeeper who was not really enthusiastic about Chalice dancing on her sales counter. Probably no one would be. However, the opinion and also the mood of the optician changed quickly who looked annoyed before and was suddenly cheerful when Ms. Chalice turned her in a circle. Okay, this is confusing and creepy. Alicia took a few steps back while Chalice continued to dance on the counter.

Rat-ta-ta-ta

She turned to the three cups and began playing drums with their heads before jumping down and approaching Alicia. Alicia was walking backwards towards the exit when she noticed that she was bumping her back against the frame of a pair of sunglasses. A pair of sunglasses fell off until Chalice caught them. It was a black one with matching eye size for Chalice. She wore these.

When the world is saying no. Don't waste your time feeling low

Of course, Alicia felt bad for the mess she had made, but the optometrist seemed fine and even danced along to the tune. Chalice grabbed Alicia's hand and started dancing with her. Okay this is more than creepy. Alicia didn't want to but she couldn't let go either. Only when Chalice let go she landed on the floor in front of the counter between the three confusing cups.

Click your heels! Go, go, go! And dance across a rainbow!

She moved to the left and then to the right, disappearing from the sight of the four of them. Okay, where did the confetti come from? Alicia asked herself, still sitting on the floor and confused. The door closed on it's own and the only thing the four heard was the hum of the shopkeeper humming the song Chalice sung despite the fact that she said she hated music just a minute ago. "What the heck was that?!" Cuppy asked.

"I... have no idea" Alicia answered as she slowly got up, walked to the door, opened it and looked in the direction Chalice had gone. Cuphead, Cuppy and Mugman followed her and looked to the right and to the left but saw nowhere Ms. Chalice or even a sign of her. Where could she have gone? wondered Alicia as suddenly someone came running past them. "Hey! Get back here!" it was a policeman.

Alicia and the three cups looked in the direction from which they heard the policeman. She didn't know why, but the policeman resembled one of the guards he and his mugman had to face before they could face Rumor Honeybottoms, as Cuppy had explained to her after she had returned to normal size.

He is stocky build with a shaggy mustache and a distinctive auburn nose, wearing an Edwardian policeman uniform and a custodian helmet, with white gloves, blue trousers and black sneakers. He was also holding a baton.

stopped and looked around and noticed that next to him was a homeless man squatting next to a gramophone and wrapped in a brown, old tattered blanket. "You seen a chalice run past here?" he asked but the homeless man said nothing, turned around with old dented mug in his hand. The homeless man's eyes were covered by sunglasses. The same ones Chalice was wearing, Alicia noticed.

"Oops. Uh, sorry" nervously the policeman gave him some change before disappearing. As soon as he disappeared from the picture, the homeless man reached for the blanket in which he was wrapped and as it turned out, this one was actually Chalice throwing the blanket and sun glasses behind her onto a mannequin. I knew it! Alicia continued to watch Chalice, who walked over to a gumball machine with the cups and inserted the coin the policeman had given her.

She turned the knob and a green ball barely rolled out of the machine landing on her hand which she threw into her mouth with a skillful toss and ate it. Alicia and the boys were watching the whole thing when they suddenly heard a laugh coming from the gumball machine that was laughing so hard it dropped its gumballs. Alicia saw that Chalice tickled the gumball machine, which came to life and laughed, causing the entire contents to fall out of its mouth and a large load of gum balls to land on the floor, over which five children were scrambling.

The three cups stood behind a mailbox while Alicia stood next to it and watched Chalice walk up to a hotdog vendor who looked bored until Chalice danced in front of him, smiled and winked at him. He had to grin and was a little flushed when she nipped at his cheek. She looked at him with puppydog eyes as she circled her hand over her belly to indicate that she was hungry.

"This will never work" Alicia said leaning against a fence. But to her surprise the seller opened his flap of his hotdog cart and took out ten hotdogs which he gave Chalice just like that while he danced and smiled. Alicia gave herself a face palm. She knew what was going on. But not the three cups, who looked at her in confusion before they continued to follow Chalice. There was a small line in front of a movie theater waiting to be let in.

Chalice joined them and gave everyone in front of her a hot dog so she could jump the queue. Standing in front of the employee was an anthropomorphic hippopotamus looking bored at her. "Tickets," he said. Chalice gave him a hot dog too, but he wasn't thrilled. "That's not a ticket," he said.

She sprayed the hot dog with a mustard bottle and showed it to the employee. Alicia and the others arrived just as they saw the employee letting Chalice in. Alicia and the three cups also went to the employee who was holding the grate closed in front of them. He swallowed and wanted to say something but blushed when he saw Alicia and let her and the three cups into the theater.

She also knew why. He had fallen in love with her. Before she could say anything, the cups went into the theater. "Um, thanks" she said and followed them. The cinema was not that big and finding the right cinema hall where Chalice was inside could be seen thanks to the opening and closing door that swayed back and forth. The three looked through it to keep an eye out for Chalice. "Hey you there!" said a voice.

The three turned around and saw an anthropomorphic brown bear wearing the same uniform as the hippo outside approaching them until he saw Alicia and blushed, not knowing what to say. Alicia rolled her eyes in annoyance. "You still forgot your popcorn my pretty lady" Uh sorry what? Alicia was confused when the bear handed her a bucket of popcorn. She gave it to Cuphead before the bear pushed the four of them into the hall.

From there, the group saw Chalice sitting a few rows ahead, also eating popcorn. "How does she get people to just give her stuff?" Mugman asked himself while Cuphead was just staring at her. Cuppy, however, was not very enthusiastic about Chalice's version here. Sure, she didn't seem to be judging anyone, but there was something wrong with her. He just didn't know what. Alicia knew the answer to their question.

"She could definitly help us get Elder Kettle's cookies" Cuphead mentions, but Alicia was about to explain to them why that wouldn't work. The guests in the movie theater, however, stared at the three cups in annoyance and said "Shh!" loudly to silence the three. "Sorry," Mugman answered in a low voice while some guests looked at him annoyed or rolled their eyes. "She's gone" Alicia said softly which confused the three cups.

But Alicia was right, when the three looked in the rows of seats in front of them, they didn't see Chalice anymore, but the emergency exit door that opened and closed. "Come on, let's follow her!" whispered Cuphead as the four slowly stooped down from their seats and also walked out the exit that led them into an alley.

Once there, the four looked around but saw no sign of Chalice anywhere. "Hey, where'd she go?" the alley was empty except for a few full or empty garbage cans "I don't know?" said Alicia as she suddenly felt someone with them. "It's like she just disappeared," Cuppy said and was even more skeptical than before "But she can't have just-" Mugman wanted to say as he, Cuppy and Cuphead were grabbed by their collar by someone.

Alicia heard it and turned around to the three cups. "All right, who are you four working for?" Chalice asked as she pushed and held the three cups against the wall by their collar. She looked not only at Cuphead and Mugman, but also at Cuppy and Alicia. "Working? We don't have jobs", "Yeah. We're just a couple of dum-dums".

Cuphead stared at his brother in annoyance while Cuppy gave himself a face palm and thought What do I have in common with those two again? At least that's what Alicia thought when she saw his look. "Zip it, ding-dong. She don't gotta know we're dum-dums" but Chalice was not satisfied with it. She still held the three while her eyes wandered to Alicia. "Why are you following me?" she asked.

However, Chalice's expression changed when she saw Alicia and dropped the three cups that landed on the hard floor and rubbed their butts and backs in pain. "Well, well, well, if it isn't Alicia the beautiful" I beg your pardon? Alicia raised her eyebrows as Chalice circled and examined her. "I think you have me confused with someone else," Alicia hoped, but Chalice shook her head and pulled out a headline from her skirt to show Alicia and the three cups.

On it you could see the mayor holding a photo of Alicia. The caption had the glorious name "Mayor names unusual girl as Inkwell Isle's most beautiful young lady". Alicia gave herself a face palm when she read that. "I knew it was you when I saw your black hair from afar" Chalice explained turning away from Alicia and looking at the three cups standing straight on both legs until she pressed them against the wall again. "Spill the beans or you'll be spilling milk!".

"We just wanna learn how you get so much free stuff", "And maybe hang out?" said Cuphead and Mugman. Cuppy and Cuphead looked at him annoyed when he said this statement. "That's all, Ms..." Mugman was about to finish his sentence when she lowered the three and finished his sentence "The name's Chalice. Ms. Chalice.". Alicia couldn't hold it in anymore and answered his question. "Because she's a girl, that's why she gets free stuff," this confused the three. But Chalice nodded "It's true what your friend is saying". "So just because you're a girl you get everything for free?" asked Cuphead. Chalice shook her head.

"There's a lot more to it than that" she said and walked away from the three cups "You don't wanna get mixed up with a gal like me" and showed the three cups her back. "This chalice is nothing but trouble" she explained to the four. Alicia and Cuppy also agreed with her. Both suspected that nothing good would happen if they followed her, which is why Alicia suggested that they go back to the optician and fix the glasses.

"Yes we should and besides we have more important things to do anyway" Alicia said and was about to reach for the two brothers when Chalice looked at her. However, Chalice prevented her from doing so and, as Alicia could tell from her eyebrow, had an idea. A terrible idea, as Alicia soon discovered. "Hey say how about you and I try a little something?" Alicia tilted her head in confusion and was about to ask what she meant until Chalice grabbed her hand and dragged her behind her to the street.

They were both standing in front of a both selling cotton candy. The three mugs watched them and didn't know exactly what was going on but the vendor gave Chalice as well as Alicia free cotton candy. Once in the alley, Alicia gave her cotton candy to the three cups. The three immediately ate these up just as quickly as Chalice ate her own. "What were you doing there?" asked Cuphead.

"We used my charm as well as Alicia's beauty to get us free cotton candy" Chalice said. "But like I said if you want to work with me there is nothing but trouble". "We love trouble!" Cuphead said, which confused his brother, Cuppy and Alicia. Actually, they always try not to get into trouble. "We do?" asked Mugman, confused. "Since when, please?" asked Cuppy annoyed. "That would be news to me" said Alicia looking down at Cuphead "Yeah. Why, just this morning, we decided to steal cookies from our elderly caretaker" he said.

Alicia rolled her eyes. Chalice turned to them and wasn't really convinced. "When you put it like that, I suppose we do love trouble" Mugman said. Alicia gave herself a face palm and just shook her head. The expressions on the faces of the two brothers didn't make it any better. Chalice turned around and was surprised. "Oh, brother. Looks like I got a couple of real degenerates on my hands" she said with a roll of her eyes. Don't tell me they forgot about the glasses thing now. She hoped they hadn't, but unfortunately they had. Well, not Cuppy anyway who tried to walk out of the alley until Chalice grabbed him by his handle and pulled him towards her. "Yep. Degenerates," Cuphead said. "We didn't actually get the cookies though," Mugman said dejectedly.

Cuphead heard this and looked at his brother annoyed "Hey!" he said. "What? We need her help. We might as well be honest" he explained to him. "Or better yet let's just drop the whole thing and go back to the optometrist and get the glasses you three broke fixed" Alicia said as she took their hands and was about to walk out of the alley until Chalice blocked her. "Wait a minute, we could connect the two things" Alicia looked at her confused. "But one thing you gotta know about me, I get by without partners, friends, anyone or anything" Chalice said as she turned around.

"This is a solo act. A one-person show." That was more than enough for Alicia and Cuppy not to join in. She sensed that it would not end well if the four of them followed Chalice. "Yeah, I think we know what you mean," Alicia said as the three cups sighed and prepared to leave. But Chalice held them by the shoulders before putting her arms on Cuphead and Cuppy's shoulder and staring at the three.

"But your pathetic story charms me" This confused not only the three cups but also Alicia who hoped for the worst. "Wanna know how I do what I do?" she asked them while staring into their eyes. All three nodded while Alicia shook her head. "Yeah" they said while Alicia just gave herself another face palm. Yes, she knew it was coming. "You really wanna know?" asked Chalice again. All three nodded. "Okay, then. Pay attention." Chalice took her arms down from the two Cuphead's. The four were confused when Chalice began to sing.

You gotta slap on a smile. Throw in some pep

She smiled and jumped on the wooden box that stood in the alley and began to tap dance on it.

Be sure to put a spring in your step

Both brothers and Alicia were a bit confused as she danced back and forth on the box, digging her index finger into her cheek.

'Cause you can get anything. By turning up the charm!

She walked out of the alley while the two brothers and Cuppy followed her. Only Alicia remained standing and did not want to follow. But Mugman grabbed her hand and pulled her along.

You gotta kick up your heels. Hands in the sky

Chalice reached for a purple flower that she took from a bouquet held by a toon who was talking to another toon. He didn't notice it since he held it behind his back to surprise the other toon with it.

Don't forget the gleam in your eye

She continues to sang as she winked at the four and looked toward a cab parked on the side of the street. In front of it stood an anthropomorphic rat looking bored.

'Cause you can get what you want If you follow this simple rule

But he quickly changed his mind when Chalice pinned the flower on him and he saw Alicia. That he blushed at the sight of her and the flower was clear. He let the five of them into the cab while he swayed to the tune.

If you're charming enough. They'll give you free stuff

Alicia sat in front together with Chalice who, despite her small size, was able to drive the car which, as Alicia already suspected, had developed a life of its own and slightly resembled Benny the Cab from Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

They'll all do what you say

What didn't please Alicia, however, was when Chalice turned to the three cups who sat on the back seat in the cab and paid no attention to the road. Had Alicia not intervened, the five would have crashed into a pedestrian. Of course, none of them thanked her, which annoyed Alicia again. So much for that. She wanted to leave the whole thing alone, but leaving the three brothers alone with her was not an option. If anything happens, I blame the four of you.

And since no one's the wiser. You can have it your way

Chalice took control of the steering wheel again while Alicia just looked annoyed. She rolled down the window and looked outside with her upper body. In front of a store, two anthropomorphic elephants, one German Shepherd and a Eagle were about to eat ice cream when the cab drove past them and took their ice cream away. Well, Chalice had stolen it from them and gave it to the two brothers, Cuppy and Alicia.

The latter refused to eat the ice cream but as the ice cream in Chalice's hand slowly started to melt she took it and ate it.

With the wink of an eye. A flick of the wrist

What the. Alicia didn't know why, but Chalice, who was still driving, now also had an ice cream in her hand. Chalice just winked and continued to enjoy her ice cream while she drove on.

I think you're getting the gist

But suddenly Chalice pressed her foot on the gas pedal, making the cab go faster than usual. "Chalice please don't go so fast or We'll fly out of the turn!" said Alicia in a panicked voice as she saw the turn. It was a sharp turn. But Chalice threw the ice cream away and drifted into the turn and stopped because there was a parade a few streets in front of them.

That's how I charm the pants off This here town!

When she saw the parade she climbed out of the cab onto the roof. On it she Tab danced again while Cuphead, Cuppy, Mugman and Alicia watched her. Of course with different expressions on their faces. Cuphead and Mugman were happy, Cuppy was skeptical while Alicia was rather annoyed and worried as she helped both brothers, Cuppy and her onto the roof and lifted them up as well. But Alicia refused for a good reason. She was much too heavy for the roof.

However, cartoon physics was different from their world and amazingly the five did not fall through the roof of the car but stayed on it.

I think you're getting The hang of this

With a skillful leap Chalice jumped onto another car roof and with a wave of her hand she asked the others to follow. Of course, the three cups did not dare, but Alicia did, although she herself was afraid of slipping. But that changed when they saw Alicia jump on the roofs of the cars and follow Chalice. The three gathered their courage and followed the two. Chalice, however, stopped on a yellow cab while the three cups stopped on a red one right behind. Alicia realized a little too late that Chalice had stopped and stopped on a black car that was a little further away from the four cups.

But here's one final tip

With a wagging index finger she warned the three cups while Alicia saw nothing since she was still standing behind her, looking at the parade. She didn't know why, but seeing the parade balloon made her think of her old home when she was five years old.

Before they can get wise to you Give 'em the slip

Before she could think further about her past, however, she felt someone grab her hand and pull her along with them, jumping from one car to another. At first she thought it was Cuppy. However, her eyes deceived her as she looked down and saw Mugman grabbing her hand and pulling her along behind him. Don't tell me... Yes, they jumped from the last car roof onto one of the parade floats.

Slap on a smile throw in some pep

Chalice now wore a parade crown and a sling around her shoulder while she and the three brothers waved to the guests. Alicia quickly felt uncomfortable and wanted to hide, but Cuppy noticed that she was uncomfortable and tried to calm her down. It helped a bit because the visitors were distracted by the fireworks Chalice lit and cheered instead of her.

So pleade remember to never forget. You can get anything. By turning up the charm!

These flew into the air where Chalice's face emerged from the fireworks and lit up the night sky. Alicia saw it and smiled.

"What a day" said Mugman "You said it" Cuphead said. He, his brother, Cuppy and Alicia were more than done from the day and completely forgot why they were in town in the first place. Well the first two had forgotten. The latter two, however, not and felt bad because it was now already dark and the store had certainly already closed.

Maybe we can go to her place tomorrow morning and pick up the glasses. Yes, Alicia was sure they could do that first thing in the morning. Until then, however, the four must return to the cottage. "I gotta admit, I don't usually stick around in one place this long," said Chalice, and looked from the three cups to Alicia with a smile on her face that the latter said she had something else planned with the four of them. Something big. Alicia and Cuppy noticed that she was different from Chalice in the book, because she would never act like Chalice here. Nor was she a ghost.

"But you four are kinda fun" she said and approached the three. "Ready for your test?" Test? What test? Alicia's pupils shrank as she guessed what she meant by test. Oh no don't tell me. The four cups got up and walked up the hill on which they had lain down to look out over the city and to enjoy the sunset. Oh boy this is not going to end well. "All you gotta do is charm your way past that guy" Chalice said as she pulled the bush away, revealing a building with a guard standing in front of it. Alicia gulped and was not thrilled that the three cups were committing a crime.

She wanted to stop them from doing it, but when Chalice mentioned that there was a reward, the three cups' ears were wide open and they ran downstairs to the building while Alicia and Chalice watched the group from a distance.

The guard a anthropomorphic brown bear stood in front of the entrance and looked from right to left with folded arms. Nothing happened and that made the bear tired. He was about to fall asleep when he heard someone approaching him. He turned around and saw Cuphead, Cuppy and Mugman. All three began to dance and tried to charm the bear.

However, the dance didn't really work as the bear stared at the three cups confused to annoyed while he slowly opened the holder of his baton and reached for it with his fingers.

That the dance didn't work noticed the three cups and Chalice. All three of them were sweating nervously and getting to grips with fear no longer really danced. It looked more like they were slipping on a banana peel like in Mario Kart. Chalice also noticed that the three were having problems. She didn't know what to do until she realized that Alicia was no longer standing next to her.

The bear felt that someone behind him tapped him on the shoulder, which is why he turned around with a growl and his face, which had previously been red with anger, now flushed with love. His tongue rolled out of his mouth like a carpet while his eyes showed hearts and his heart throbbed out of his chest. Okay that's weird and creepy at the same time. Just as strange was that he let the five of them in without saying anything.

The four went inside while the guard closed the door behind them. But before he closed the door behind him, he wanted Alicia to give him a kiss, which she did not return. She dodged it and ducked past him and the bear kissed the door with his eyes closed instead of her. "Hey, it worked!" said Cuphead. "We are charming" said Mugman but Alicia rolled her eyes and looked around. Yes they were in a factory with a conveyor belt and various machines. But everything was shut down and turned off.

That was it until "Great job, boys" the three cups and Alicia looked up where on an elevated level Chalice was standing. "Now here's your surprise!" at a console she flipped the levers and turned on all the machines. Also, the lights came on as well as the conveyor belt. "Is this a..." Cuppy asked as he and the others looked around.

The rest of the lights came on and the three cups saw that it was a cookie factory. "Cookie factory!" Cuphead and Mugman said at the same time. Oh no this is not good! Alicia swallowed nervously because she had already guessed. "That's right. And it's all-you-can-eat" Chalice said as she pushed several more buttons and flipped levers. One turned on the silent alarm.

The first cookies came out of the machine warm onto the conveyor belt. There they did not stay long because all three cups grabbed a few and devoured them immediately. But not before they dunked them into each other's cup. For Alicia this was still more or less disturbing. That they could remove their heads without dying was clear, but the question of what the liquid was, even Cuppy couldn't answer.

It looked like milk but was it? Mugman, who saw her, gave her a cookie that he had previously dunked in his own head. "Thanks Mugsy, but I'm already full" but her stomach growled and Mugman looked at her mischievously while holding the cookie in front of her nose. Her stomach continued to growl and the smell of freshly baked cookies didn't make it any better.

With a roll of her eyes, she accepted the cookie and ate it. It was warm. And it wasn't because of the really wanted to eat more of it but still felt bad about it. Was it because of all the cookies? Or was it the fact that they broke in here? No matter what it was, Alicia felt someone standing behind her and turned around, confused.

She thought it was Cuppy but it was Chalice who holds a gold glowing cookie in her hand. Alicia looked at it and smelled it before thinking about eating it. "Don't worry the cookie won't hurt you" she said and jumped on a machine before grabbing a cookie from the conveyor belt. Alicia looked from her to the three cups and then to the cookie in her hand. She wasn't really afraid, but the cookie glowed a little strangely, but the smell took over and Alicia bit into the cookie.

It tasted of cinnamon and vanilla and... Why does my vision suddenly get so blurry? What Alicia could see as clear before was now totally blurry and hard to make out. The posters and billboards hanging on the wall were very blurry. Also, her vision seemed to get darker and darker until Alicia finally fell to the ground and passed out.

Cuppy heard it and looked with full mouth to Alicia whom he saw lying on the floor with closed eyes. The half-bitten cookie lay on the floor next to her and was no longer shining gold but was again like the other cookies."Alicia!" the two brothers heard and also looked behind them with their mouths full. Cuppy tried to wake Alicia up but it didn't work. She was unconscious and under the spell of the cookie. This one Mugman stepped on.

Both brothers, just like Cuppy, tried to wake Alicia up in a variety of ways. But she did not open her eyes. "This is not good," Cuppy said as he tried to gently slap her cheek to wake her up. Unfortunately, just as the blows against the entrance door of the factory were negative.

These grew louder with each passing second until the doors opened and a familiar face appeared behind the door. "AHHHH! THE DEVIL!" the two brothers screamed in fear and ran into themselves in sheer panic. The two had no idea that they had knocked themselves out by doing so. But the devil did not mind, because he could enter the factory undisturbed and devote himself to what he was actually here for as the door closes behind him.

His gaze fell on the unconscious Alicia and the angry Cuppy pointing a drawn finger gun at him. The tip glowed orange as a small orange ball formed, growing larger and larger, crackling with energy. "Get out of my way," the devil ordered him, but Cuppy didn't even think about it. He didn't want to leave it to him. She belonged to Lucifer and not to him. "Over my dead body!".

"We can set that up". Before Cuppy could do or say anything, he only noticed how his soul was torn out of his body by the devil. It was as if his life had just been taken from him, but still he was not dead. Only his colors slowly faded from his body. Like the carnival visitors when they first landed here in the world.

His body hung down with a bent upper body while his eyelids slowly lowered as if looking tired and he moaned softly from himself. The soul of him, however, was now in the hand or rather claw of the devil who grins at them with a devilish smile. "I've finally got your soul, you pesky little bugger!" the devil chuckled as Cuppy's soul tried to escape, but the devil held him tightly by his ghost tail, preventing him from fleeing.

He had one of the two souls he was still missing. Before he could grab the second one, however, his eyes fell on Alicia who was still lying unconscious on the floor and didn't feel that the devil was slowly taking her into his arms while he lifted Cuppy's now soulless body by his sweater with his trident while he continued to look at her with a blank stare. The soul of him he held with his tail.

Just as he opened his mouth, the devil heard the police siren from outside and how a group approached the door and tried to break it open by force. "Too bad my hands are full, otherwise I would have spared the other annoying mug the jail," but when he thought about how many times he had been chicanery, he reconsidered and had a better idea. "Otherwise a stay in jail wouldn't hurt him" he grinned mischievously while the door gave way more and more.

With a diabolical laugh, the devil disappeared from the factory with the unconscious Alicia, the soul of Cuppy and his soulless body, leaving both brothers alone who had regained consciousness. "My mug" moaned Mugman as he rubbed his head. "Oh, what happened?" asked Cuphead as he looked around and noticed that he and his brother were alone. There was no sign of Alicia, Cuppy or Chalice. "Where's Alicia, Cuppy and Chalice?".

At that very moment, the door crashed open and three police officers entered the building. You're under arrest!" one of the three officers said, pointing at the two brothers. They screamed when they realized they were in trouble.

"Officer we are innocent we never meant to-" "Break into the local cookie factory and help yourselves to the cookies without paying anything for them!" interrupted the policeman with contletes while the one next to him just nodded in agreement. "That's called housebreaking and counts as a felony!" both brothers swallowed nervously when they heard this and were not surprised when two policemen grabbed them by their hands and dragged them out of the factory while the third turned off the machines.

Both brothers were taken to the police car and tried to explain that they were innocent and not responsible for the chaos. But the policeman was not interested. They closed the doors and sat in the car while the siren and blue lights were on. For both cups it was clear that they would end up in jail. However, they wondered where Alicia, Cuppy and Chalice were.

Chalice was outside on the hill and saw everything. "Sorry, boys and Alicia" she turned around before transforming into her ghost form "I like ya, but not enough to tangle with the cops" she disappeared and became invisible.

The siren could still be heard as the police car drove through town, leaving residents looking behind them in confusion. Some scratched their heads while others thought nothing of it. Both brothers saw from afar the prison that was fenced off from the rest of Inkwell Isle's and could only be reached by boat.

Once there, they were welcomed by the head of the prison and taken to their cells. Of course, like all other prisoners, they wore a striped suit in black and white. Their straws were in the same color. Both were now in prison where they will probably stay for a while. However, this bothered them at the moment quite little, they really wondered where Alicia and Cuppy were.

Blood asked himself the same question, looking out the window as he tucked Elder Kettle into bed, who was still looking for his glasses and decided to look for them tomorrow. "Maybe I'll find them," he mumbled in his sleep while Blood sighed and went to bed as well. Sure he was worried about the four of them but he couldn't leave Elder Kettle alone.

I hope you four are well. He was very worried about the four of them, but the wolf did not know that not far from the cottage, from a portal that appeared from the sky, someone came. A figure fell out of the portal and landed in a bush.

"That was a hard one but also soft..." he jumped out of the bush screaming heavily as a thorn poked him in the butt. Pained, the figure looked around and saw the cottage from afar in which the light was still on. However, before the figure went there, it looked at its right arm where there was a kind of bracelet with a small screen on it. "Hmm maybe the inhabitants of this 'tea house' can tell me where I ended up here?" the figure bravely set off as the sun slowly rose and the next day dawned.
