I feel like things might be falling in place.
And my music's been kinda doing bits, too.
Like, I actually might do something great

And when I'm gone, maybe I'll be remembered
For doing something special with myself
That's why I don't think that we should talk, man

"Hi Ren" - Ren

It was hard to define; the best way was that it was a quasi-date. Cami and he exited the movie theater, both still laughing from the movie. Cami was recanting a scene, adding to their laughter; he didn't even realize he had taken her hand in his as they started walking. They had gone to dinner and a movie, and now they were on their way to a desert shop that had just opened near the theater.

Cami noticed him taking her hand; of course, she had felt herself reaching for it throughout the night; she was giggling at his comments, fidgeting with her hair; she didn't even know why she was so wrapped up in it. But that was a lie: studying, being together, just talking or texting all the time. It had been this rebuilding of their relationship. It had led to long conversations; this needed her to let out everything she had repressed. The little hero inside of her was running the show now and was not about to let go of the reigns anytime soon.

Two Weeks Ago

Then there was the incident two weeks ago. Zuka and Dalia had convinced her to go out with them to a party. She hesitated but felt guilty about not spending as much time with her friends. So she had agreed; once they stepped off the second train, she began to feel like she had made a mistake. It wasn't the worst part of town, but it wasn't good; as they walked, the area got less welcoming till they heard the sounds of the party as they came around the corner.

It was a crowd she didn't recognize; as they got closer, she noticed the houses surrounding this one were strangely dark. The party was raging; all kinds of things were happening: quirk usage, drinking, people were already passed out on the lawn. Cami nibbled on her lip nervously as they started up the walkway. A booming voice called out for Dalia; it was a boy that Cami didn't know; he was tall, at least 6ft, in shape, shirtless, with strange marks like tattoos all over his chest and arms that moved and swam about.

As soon as the boy came out, Dalia leaped into his arms and tried to figure out what he had had for dinner with how deep her tongue was down his throat. Then it got worse; two other guys came out behind him, one about 5'8, with black hair and eyes. He was solid, a barrel of a person. Another guy about the same height flanked him, but his hair glowed in different neon colors, as did his eyes. Wataru and Kouki.

"Wataru this is Zuka and Kouki this is Cami," Dalia said. "Let's get ourselves a drink!"

Cami felt her anger immediately rise as this was an obvious, hey, do you have any friends for my friend's kind of deal. Old Cami would not have minded and just rolled with it to help out her friend; not the first party makeout she had; they were helpful in distractions when she and Katsuki would break up, they would hit the party, she may or not make out with someone and then bounce. Inevitably, Katsuki would hear she was at some party, get all jealous, and they would get back together. Stupid, she thought that romance was how it was supposed to be.

The lie "He cares in his way" should have been tattooed on her forehead or, at the very least, on the card she could hand out when people ask about their relationship. But that all changed when they broke up for the last time and she met him, Izuku Midoriya.

The lies she told herself that she wasn't a terrible person and that she wasn't constantly lying to herself shattered when she saw him. Lies couldn't remove the guilt she had buried or the new guilt she found when she saw him. The need to be punished for her sins was so strong he could have demanded her body, and she would have surrendered it if it felt like she was paying any penance. But then he asked her to be his friend, to see if the girl he saw in the library was real. She didn't deserve it, but it awakened her and sparked the change.

Maybe she was out of touch or off her game; Dalia and her latest boyfriend disappeared, Zuka was off flirting, and she was trying to be polite with Kouki. She thought I would rather be at home, sharing a stream with Izuku. He even said he was going to be alone tonight…If this was Izuku in front of her, she realized her heart fluttered slightly at the thought. Fuck!

Kouki was trying. She would give him that much; he was flirty, not bad-looking, but not what she wanted. Do I want Izuku? She thought. The music was loud, the lights were flashing, and his hair was flashing, almost mesmerizing; she managed to shake it off, but then she felt funny. She excused herself to the bathroom; she felt like she was drunk; there was no way one drink would have done that. She began to panic, her heart racing; when he knocked on the door, she cursed herself for being careless. She focused her best, her quirk coming to life as she let him in.

Glamour, Camie's Quirk, enables her to emit a smoke-like substance from her mouth, which she can use to create visual and auditory illusions covering a large area. However, these illusions only last for a short time.

Kouki saw Cami looking drunk, telling him she didn't feel good; he didn't offer help; instead, he stepped in and closed the door. The real Cami was already out the door and down the hall; she stumbled, trying to find her way out. Thankfully, she seemed like another drunk girl, so she went outside, taking a deep breath of the night air. She fumbled for her phone; he picked up on the second ring before he could say anything. "Izuku, I need help!"

"Cami!" he said. "Where are you? What is wrong?"

"I am at some party. I don't know if someone slipped me something or they used a quirk, but I feel like I am drunk, and I have had about a quarter of a drink," Cami said, her words slightly slurred. "I got away from the guy; I am in a shitty part of town; I don't know where Dalia is probably off getting laid, and Zuka, I don't know. I…will you come get me?"

"Send me your location," his voice came back strong, commanding, "I am on my way."

Cami tried to message her friends but was not getting a response; she found a chair and struggled to fight off the effects of whatever was happening. She didn't know how much time had passed, but eventually, Kouki found her; he was walking towards her when he froze. She looked over her shoulder and saw Izuku standing there.

"You found me," she slurred.

"I did," he whispered; effortlessly, he picked her up in his arms. He glared at Kouki, "She is going home. Is that a problem?" the boy stuttered a no-turn and hurried back into the house. Cami wrapped her arms around his neck; he used his Auspex to locate her friends. Dalia was having sex, but she was not drugged; Zuka was fine as well. He planted the thoughts in their head that Cami got sick and went home. Cami fell asleep in his arms.

Cami eventually woke up. She felt so safe that she unconsciously snuggled against him until her mind started putting things together. She didn't panic as she knew who was holding her. Carrying her like a princess, she let him take her to her street before she asked to be put down; she felt much better.

"Next time you want to go out, how about I take you to a movie," he said softly as they walked.

"That sounds nice," Cami replied. When they got to her gate, she turned and kissed his cheek. "Thank you for saving me."

"Anytime," he said. Cami's heart skipped a beat.

Izuku

Once the door closed, he could feel the beast banging on its cage, but there was something else. A need, something inside that wanted to hurt Kouki, but he needed to know what he had done to Cami. This other screamed inside him, roaring that he couldn't allow this to stand. He looked back towards Cami's window, left, and returned to the party.

Back to the Date

There was a warmth spreading over them. It emanated from their joined hands; Cami felt shy; it wasn't an experience she was familiar with. Izuku, on his part, felt different, so different from the others, but he knew what that warmth was, the way his heart skipped a beat, the possessiveness that erupted over him that night she called for help. The dread that something had happened to her, that she had been taken or injured, stirred his heart.

As they walked, they were lost in their little world; when they passed an alley, a voice called out, asking for change. A tremor ran through Izuku; he whirled and could barely grab Cami. He jumped back as this massive claw came lunging out of the darkness. Cami yelled as this gigantic creature came stalking out of the darkness. It was a damn Werewolf; it had dirty, matted brown fur, and it tore a ragged blanket from its shoulders. Cami's mind was wavering; the thing before her was a werewolf, and then it seemed to be just some massive animal that kept blurring back and forth.

"They said you were quick," it growled out. "I wonder why they called a Silver Pack together for you?" its claws clacked off the pavement, and screams from the other people on the street began to fill the air. "Don't run. It will only worsen things for you; I promise I will make it nice and clean, Leech!"

Izuku immediately called upon the blood, strengthening his body; his heart was racing, and while his education from Agatha was nowhere near complete, one of the things he had learned was that while true werewolves were rare, they were a hazardous and terrifying species. Even the most potent Vampires had fallen under their claws and fangs.

"What is that thing?" Cami managed to say. "Izuku, we got to get out of here!"

"Cami, use your quirk to confuse it," she heard him whisper.

"You think your pathetic little abilities will be able to save you," the creature said. "Die Leech, and your little whore as well!" Cami couldn't see the thing move; it simply disappeared, but Izuku saw it; with supernatural speed, it leaped from its spot, attempting to bring its massive claws down in an X swipe.

Cami felt her body pulled to the side; she just let her quirk go.

The creature came down; Izuku spun them to the side, ducked under a backward claw swipe, and barely moved Cami out of another attack that looked to sever their hands. He let go of Cami's hands and dodged another attack; flames came over his hand as he punched the beast in the side of its head, making it stumble. He followed it up with a shot to its leg, sending it down to a knee; he drove his knee into the thing's face, only for it to growl in rage. He managed to avoid being impaled, but not the claw swipe across the gut. He yelled in pain; it was more intense than anything he had experienced except fire. The werewolf laughed as it pressed its attack; Izuku could deflect the next attack as the fire on his hand erupted into a bonfire, engulfing the beast. Izuku reached into the flames, grimacing as he felt the fur; he drove his hand into the creature. He grabbed it by the rib cage and threw it down the alley, its rib bone still in his hand.

Camie let her quirk go; the Werewolf was on fire, flying back into the alley, and Izuku was on his knee holding his gut; something white and covered in blood tumbled from his hand. The smoke engulfed everything as she went to him, hauling him to his feet. She saw a look of concentration on his face as the wounds began to close.

She didn't even get to say anything when the street was filled with bone-chilling howls.

Izuku got to his feet, grabbing Cami's hand. They took off into the night. "Keep using your quirk," he could hear the howls coming closer, and panic was everywhere. Cami stumbled, nearly falling, only for him to take her in his arms and race towards the train station. Cami stopped expelling her quirk.

"Izuku, what is going on?" she said, looking over her shoulder; the panic set in as she could hear the cries of terror from the cloud of her quirk covering the street and the Howls that seemed inhuman coming closer.

She looked as he raced to the train station. They were moving so fast that everything seemed to be blurring around her. He suddenly shifted her in his arms and dove to the side; they tumbled across the concrete, his arms wrapped protectively around her head.

When they came to a stop, she felt him get them to their feet; she was startled when they dashed off down an alley. She looked over his shoulder, and standing in the street was this massive, wild, dire wolf-type creature; it seemed to be standing on its hind legs, her mind struggling to make sense of it all. Part of her mind was trying to shut down, while the other half was working to control the situation. Suddenly, it wasn't alone; there was another there with it, and another.

Izuku tightened his grip and leaped into the air, pushing off the wall and kicking his way up to the roof. He looked around, activating his auspex; the giant silver werewolf that had made him alter his plans was climbing up the wall; the all-black fire was coming up through the building flanked by mange one hot on her heels.

Cami caught something out of the corner of her eyes and dove at Izuku to knock him down; he felt her collide and roll, allowing her to fall on top of him. They saw a strange, bone-looking dagger embedded in the rooftop entrance door. Izuku looked and saw a man with black eyes and red hair. He was about 5'9, wearing a brown leather jacket and blue jeans, and he didn't seem Japanese, European by Izuku's guess.

"Just surrender, and we will make quick for the class," he yelled in a thick Irish accent. "If ya keep on struggling, Albrecht will make it very painful for all involved."

They got to their feet and took off in the opposite direction as Cami's gas flooded the rooftop; they leaped to the adjacent rooftop and off into the night. They hadn't gotten very far when they heard the door to the roof they had just been on burst open, and a series of grunts and growls filled the night.

Cami saw the shadowy wolf-like monstrosities break through her smoke; now, a fourth one tossed aside what seemed to be the remains of a brown leather jacket; it was this strange blur like the others, but as they leaped after them in pursuit. The new one started to come into focus, red and white fur, the one in the lead silvery, grey, the other black as night, the last mangy brown. They weren't wolves or animals. They looked like Were-Wolfs, with long arms, snouts, and legs pumping as they chased after them. God, Were-Wolfs were after them. Her mind screamed that there must be some family or family line for them all to have the same or similar transformation quirk. She felt that wasn't the correct answer, but her mind clung to it.

Izuku was fast, but so were these things; his education on true Were-Wolves had consisted of, if need be, fighting one if more than one fled. They were rare, even more rare than Vampires. Most of their kind died long ago when they rose to the tray during the first quirk war and took part in Europe for themselves. With their strange visage, it was assumed that a quirk line was at the center, but that was far from the truth. The hatred between Werewolves and Vampires came from the Werewolves claiming the Vampires were a disease, parasites, and a plague upon the world.

They were not wrong; even so, the Were-Wolve's attempt to seize power wasn't their first attempt but their last. Vampires had tried this once before long ago, but their weakness exposed their folly to sunlight; no matter how powerful the vampire was, sunlight had proven to be their mortal enemy.

They had adopted a philosophy of hiding their nature and moving things from behind the scenes; after all, when you're immortal, you have to wait a little bit, and your enemies will die without you lifting a finger. But then, with the advent of quirks, it became a question of why they should hide and run; in their hubris, they forgot that not only had their prey become empowered, but the sun was still there. A new wave of hunters rose, and a new wave of the inquisition emerged. What they had brought with them was fire and death; they brought it to everyone and everything they encountered. It was rumored that the only true werewolves now belonged to the new Inquisition and existed and lived by their rule. Now, they were here hunting him.

They were gaining; he couldn't stop fighting, not with Cami in his arms; if he left her behind, she would be killed; as they raced across the rooftops, it was her quirk that would buy them the precious seconds they needed to keep ahead of their pursuers. Heroes were responding to the initial disturbance, and then Izuku heard it.

"LET ME OUT!" The voice was hollow but rough, ringing inside his head. "LET ME OUT!" It was the same voice he heard that night after he picked up Cami from that party. The same voice that told him to go back.

He looked to the side, and for a moment, he saw the creature from the docks, the beast from the pit. He shook his head, but his distraction nearly cost him as he felt it before he saw it. A double attack from the black and silver wolves, he dove to the side, and they rolled and came to their feet.

"LET ME OUT!"

"Izuku, what are we going to do," she said, staring at their murderous pursuers.

"I will come out either way," it growled. "You know that. Will the city survive? Let me out!"

"What about Cami?" he replied.

"I protect what is ours, just like I did with Himiko," it whispered. "We are the same; you will never be rid of me. I am you, and you are me. She doesn't know what you are; she hasn't seen the real you. Now, this mask or facade is what you pretend to wear. Himiko sees it, Nemuri craves it, and Rumi begs for it. But you hide it from this one. Tell her what you did."

"I can't," Izuku said.

"Tell her how you went back and found that boy," it was coming from around him like it was circling him. "How you broke him, how you hurt him."

"He lived," Izuku countered.

"But would it have been better for him if he hadn't," it laughed. "You are hiding who you are like she hid who she was in the library. You cling to this ruse that you are human and held to their values and systems."

"I am who I want to be," Izuku said. "With her, I can be the me I wanted to be all those years ago. She has done bad and made mistakes like all of us."

"Just like hers, all masks break, all masks crumble, all Masquerades falter," it said. "Let me out, Let me do what needs to be done. Let me Out!"

"Cami," Izuku called to her. She let her gas loose again, and they jumped into the alley.

"Izuku, what are we going to do?" she said, scared.

"Cami, I need you to run," he said.

"Izuku, I can't leave you," she said, her voice breaking. "How can a hero run?"

"I can't fight them with you here," he said. "I have to do things, and I don't want you to see me like that, not yet."

"I don't understand," she whispered.

"I am asking you to trust me," he said, holding her face in his hands," I don't want to make you run, but I can, please Cami….please."

"Where do I go?" she said.

"Get to U.A.," he said. "When you reach the gate, ask for Midnight or Nezu and tell them something attacked me."

"You better live," she said. "I wanted to kiss you tonight…"

"I wanted to kiss you too," he looked up towards the sounds of the battle in the pink cloud began to fade. "Cami, go!"

"I don't care what you are holding back," she said, "I will be by your side." She took off running. He leaped out of the alley and to the rooftop across from the wolves, and their smoke faded.

"Done running?" the black wolf growled out.

"Yeah," he said.

"After we…" the mangy wolf managed to say.

"There will be no after, not for any of you!" Izuku said. "Tonight, you all will die."

The wolves leaped across the rooftop slowly, and Izuku just let go. As the wolves landed, Izuku was gone, replaced with a large 8ft tall, strange, black, armored bat-type creature that emerged at the docks. Large black bat wings, skin hardening, two long silver talons descended from its elbows, with similar long silver talons on its hands. The once unobstructed moon began to run red.

I was created at the dawn of creation.
I am temptation; I am the snake in Eden.
I am the reason for treason, beheading all Kings.
I am sin with no rhyme or reason.
Sun of the morning, Lucifer, antichrist
Father of lies, Mestophilies
Truth in a blender, deceitful pretender
The banished avenger, the righteous surrender

When standing in front of my solar eclipse
My name it is stitched to your lips so, you see
I won't bow to the will of a mortal, feeble and normal.
