Temple of The Archangels, Inner Sanctum

The various Archangels were trying to decide what to do. Micheal had so much on his plate ever since he took over his father's duties. He was so tired of all this bickering and just wanted to get this matter over with. He saw Cameal arguing with Gabriel and he finally slammed his fist on his stone desk. He looked around and yelled out, "ENOUGH!" Everyone fell quiet and waited for Micheal to continue. He took a breath and said, "We are not here to bicker and fight all day. I understand everyone might have different opinions on what to do. The first step is to gather the facts and to do that we need to bring the accused before us." With a wave of his hand, Sadie and Cassidy appeared on the floor in the middle of the room; they were bound with angelic chains and had a sigil on their foreheads that prevented them from speaking. Micheal released their chains and said, "Exorcist Sadie and Cassidy, you have been accused of defying your commander's direct orders. You will tell us exactly what happened and why. You will not lie or leave anything out. If you do, I will know and you will be imprisoned and stripped of your position. Is all that understood?"

He got two affirmative nods and he snapped his fingers. The sigil above their heads disappeared. Micheal stood up and said, "First, who gave you the orders to enter hell and exterminate the souls there?" Sadie said, "We worked alone, We were furious at that demon scum for trying to get into Heaven. We gathered up other sisters and entered Hell." Cassidy said nothing and just waited. Micheal looked at Sadie and snapped his fingers. The sigil to prevent speech appeared over her head again and Micheal said, "I warned you that lying will not be tolerated. You are hereby stripped of your position and sentenced to twenty years imprisonment." Sadie looked furious and tried to leap at Micheal. Gabriel looked angry and his closed fist glowed with power. Angelic chains shot from the floor and wrapped around Sadie. She was brought back to the ground and struggled. Micheal turned and gave Gabriel a hug, he then turned back and said, "For attempting to attack me, you will now be imprisoned for ten additional years." He flicked his hand and Sadie disappeared in a flash of golden light.

He turned to Cassidy and asked, "What happened?" Cassidy sighed in frustration. She looked at the Archangels and said, "Dhalia gave us the orders. We gathered and went into the portal. We planned to take them in a Pincer attack. Callie and Fiona each led their respective companies and charged the hotel. When they got within one hundred feet, Callie and Fiona started to burn. Their companies tried to put them out but it was no use. They died soon after and the rest of us were in shock. We knew your niece was in that hotel but no one should have had that kind of power. That shock led to our force's downfall. Tendrils started rushing out of that shadow dome and consuming our forces. Their souls were being sucked out and consumed. Their screams still haunt me. After seeing the total loss and devastation, Sadie and I called for a retreat. We opened the portal and came back to the training grounds. As soon as we landed another exorcist was in bad shape, she unfortunately died. Adam and Lute were there at the time and this enraged Adam. He tried to interrogate us and Lute calmed him down. We were taken to the detention center and now we are here. That is all Lord Micheal, I swear. I ask for forgiveness."

The Archangels took time to process this information and Micheal said, "Thank you, Cassidy. You did disobey a direct order but, you were honest and came forward when prompted. You showed honor by speaking the truth. You will be stripped of your position for two years and if you truly show remorse then you will be allowed back into the Exorcist Corp." Cassidy bowed and left the sanctum. Micheal turned to his siblings and said, "Now we have to decide our next step. Do we support Princess Magne's idea or do we condemn it? The Majority will decide."

Camael was vocal as always and said, "What's there to decide, you heard her? They killed a significant amount of our Exorcists. It's clear they want a war and I say we give it to them. I've been itching for a fight." Uriel looked over at Camael with disgust and said, "While I may not agree with her sentiment. I do agree that some sort of action needs to be taken. We cannot allow this blatant act of aggression to stand." Raphael decided to speak up at this point, "How is this a blatant act of aggression? Could it be possible that they were just defending themselves? We have been carrying out this extermination for a while and they might have been tired of being erased." Camael sneered and said, "Look at the big fucking hero. You may be desperate to preserve justice Raph but, leave the decisions to the angels who matter." Gabriel had enough and jumped to his feet. He looked at the sneering face of Cameal and said, "That's enough, Your lust for war will cost so many innocent lives and I will not stand for it. You are an Archangel, learn some restraint and grow up." Camael smiled and winked at her brother's outrage. Micheal stood up and asked, "Does anyone have something productive to say?" Sariel stood up and said, "I agree with Uriel this is an act of aggression and I will protect the souls here in Heaven, no matter the cost."

Micheal sighed at this declaration and stood up he said, "Very well. We shall now vote on this matter. All in favor of supporting Princess Magne's idea of redeeming souls?" Micheal, Gabriel, Zadkiel, and Raphael all raised their hands. Micheal then asked, "All opposed?" Camael, Uriel, and Sariel raised their hands. Micheal looked around and said, "Majority rules, we will support Princess Magne's plans to redeem a soul and help her in any way we can." Camael stood up and glared at Micheal. She growled and said, "Fuck you, I don't have to listen to your orders." She then flew out of the temple with a mighty flap of her wings. Sariel stood up and said, "I disagree with this decision, however, I shall find Camael and see if I can douse the flames of her anger." Micheal said thank you and made to leave as well. Micheal was about to leave the inner sanctum when Uriel grabbed his shoulder and said, "You have made a big mistake, I hope you realize that." Micheal shrugged his hand off and said, "I don't believe it is a mistake, regardless of what may follow. I can only hope for the best with the choices I make. I wish you a good day brother. I have to go pray to Father." Uriel watched his brother fly away and let out a loud sigh. This decision would change the foundation of Heaven, one way or another.

Review: I ask that all reviews be constructive criticism with suggestions on how to improve my story and writing overall. If you have nothing constructive or nice to say please do not leave a review at all. Don't like the story, don't read it. I know that many people loved the characters created by Vivienne "VivziePop" Medrano exactly as they were but I wanted to write a story and put my own little twist on it. I also saw a disturbing lack of substantial Adam/Lute stories so I wanted to try and rectify that. Best wishes all and hope you enjoy :)
