Resident Evil Modern Warfare II: Operation Deadbolt
Chapter 23
Jill is once again deployed in the EZ as her next mission is to go after Terminus Warlord Keres. A chemist who uses living people as experiments for biochemical weapons.
"Jill you alright? Heard about what happened." asked Soap.
"I'm fine. Just a few bumps and bruises here and there. You said Orlov Military Base right? Tell me about Keres" Jill asked on the road driving towards Orlov.
"She's one of Fletcher's Lt's rolling up on our patrols, snatching our guys and doing experiments on them. Wanted for Torture in Armenia and been on the run ever since. She's not getting away this time. There's a special place in hell for people who use chemical weapons. Send her there Jill." Soap explains.
"Oh I will." Jill said as she hits the accelerator.
"Let's mask up and shut this biohazard down permanently!" said Soap.
"Keres. A walking war crime. Well it looks like it's your turn to play the executioner Jill. She's the type of monster you spent your whole Counter-Bioterrorism career fighting. Right up your alley if you're looking for a little payback!" said Greene.
Jill arrived at Orlov, stepping out of the car and readies up for a gunfight. She took the bone from her recent Rift adventure and whistled as a Hellhound appeared and joins Jill by her side and hands it the bone.
"Good dog."
Jill grabs her Holger 556 and a Haymaker semi auto shotgun with the JAK Maglift Aftermarket Part courtesy of Miller and puts on a gas mask for the road ahead.
"Jill, forgot to mention Roze packed you a gift in your Rucksack. Should get you inside" said Soap.
Jill sees a keycard to Keres' fortress and smiled.
"Thanks Roze."
Jill takes the stairs on the side of the fortress and mounts up on the door. She uses the keycard and opens up going guns blazing.
"Well, well well, Jill Valentine. A perfect test subject gift wrapped with bow. Set the gas traps! " said Keres.
"I don't think so bitch" Jill said to herself.
Jill jumped the railing as Keres' traps set off filling the room with a toxic bioweapon gas fogging her view and providing Keres cover. She frantically looks around as bullets go flying past her and grazes her.
"Shit!"
Jill heads for nearby cover and pull out the Haymaker and listened to any footsteps in her area and blows them to bits with rapid fire buckshot.
"We got a man down!" shouted a Terminus merc.
"Where are you Keres?"
Jill tries to see through the fog and sees a glimpse of Keres running towards cover.
Jill crouches and walks over shooting Mercs in her path that she could see as she advances to nearby cover. She sees Keres was left vulnerable and back turned against Jill. Seeing this is her shot, Jill opted for her new Aether blade and sneaks up behind Keres and puts her in a chokehold and stabbed her on the shoulder to disarm her, slices her abdomen and lands a high kick on the side of her head.
With her dying breath...
"My research isn't complete"
Jill aimed the Holger at Keres.
"Game over"
She goes for the kill-shot as the gas finally clears out making it safe to breathe again.
"Soap, Greene, It's done. Keres is KIA."
"The world just got safer Jill, thanks to you" said Soap.
"Nicely done. Maybe Terminus will think twice about using bioweapons against our own." said Greene.
Jill takes the MCW assault rifle Keres used and again checks the body to see a familiar logo.
"Soap! Keres was working with Konni Group"
"Her too? Why am I not surprised? Makarov wanted to use chemical weapons for his attacks. Barkov's nerve gas, Nova 6, Now whatever Keres was cooking in the EZ. RTB Jill, You earned a break at the very least from back to back Ops." said Soap.
Back at Base Barrera was in his lab going over samples of the dead and making logs for data purposes as he went along.
"Subject PG67A/W, Codename: Mangler. Thanks to field data and first hand account by Jill Valentine, I have been able to discover the quick effectiveness the Aetherium from the Dark Aether. How quickly it cam turn the living into the undead. Jack Fletcher had a spare vial and used it on his own men. Turned them to zombies in an instant. But I can't help but wonder, what does long term effects from the Dark Aether can do to a person? Could it...corrupt living beings? Ay no. No no no no, let's not put that in my head."
Jill sits on her bed on her room pulling out a photo she keeps in her wallet of her, Chris and one of Rose Winters. She smiled briefly and remembered how long she indeed has been fighting bioterrorism. Deep down Jill had thoughts of having a family of her own. In a way, it came unexpectedly when Chris brought back Rose from his mission from the Romanian Village. Rose's biological mother grew distant of Rose to the point where she was deemed unfit and left, leaving Chris to raise her himself. Jill knew Chris and his sister Claire were orphans themselves and would never want a child to ever go through what they did. It was a trait Jill admired about Chris and Claire.
She placed a kiss on the photo and puts it back in her wallet. Jill wonders more and more to herself, if it's all worth fighting for? For a future without fear? One where Rose can grow up, happy, healthy and far away from bioterrorism as possible? Yeah. It's worth it. As much as Jill could probably get some rest, that just wasn't her style. She simply geared up for another round of containment in the EZ.
