Ch1
Cat Noir was roaming the rooftops of Paris when he heard the police sirens. The moon shinned brightly over Paris as he stealthily followed the trail of cars as the city of Paris glittered in the night.
Up ahead he saw the helicopters circle the bank as a group of police cars drove towards the area. His posture turned rigid as he made his way through the city. He quickened his pace arriving at a rooftop next to the bank. Squinting his eyes he saw a group of armed gunmen on the second floor guarding a group of hostages.
He eyed the gunmen, there were three in total and quickly made a plan. Taking a few steps back he gripped his baton and charged at the window of the other building.
The robbers didn't notice him till the glass broke. The robber's eyes widened, he let out a scream as he landed and quickly incapacitated the man with a punch to the gut.
"Shit it's Cat Noir!" one of the robbers said as he dropped what he was holding to quickly grab his gun.
He glared at them and charged at them. They both fired at him but he deflected the bullets with his baton. Their eyes widened with fear as he approached them. "Nice try." He extended his baton and quickly knocked the gun out of their hands and charged at them. One of them screamed and ran while the other was crushed beneath his fists.
"Hold still," he said extending a claw.
The robber nodded fear in his eyes as he knocked him out. "That does it," he muttered as he turned to the hostages. "Cat Noir thank you!" they yelled relief spreading across their faces.
"All in a days work," he said with a small smile as tied up the robbers and freed the hostages. These robberies aren't much in comparison to the Akuma attacks but they'll have to do.
The door opened and the police came in guns drawn. "Hey guys glad to help," he said with a small salute. The policemen nodded before he jumped out of the window.
Another petty robbery. But hey at least I can stop them by myself.
The cold wind of the night was a familiar feelings as he raced through the rooftops. Eventually he landed on a street near some parks.
He passed by an electronic store where a TV had his favorite critic on screen. "Hooligan Cat Noir was last seen 'helping' a bank robbery," Thomas Astruc said his brow furrowed. The former animator turned influencer/ news pundit was probably one of his least favorite people in the city. "How long will he continue these theatrics that deceive Parisians? Cat Noir is a menace!"
Great what is it this time? He turned to the TV and watched Thomas Astruc, an overweight middle aged man in a suit go on about how he was a bad superhero and the secret cause of every crime in the city. "If only he could learn from a real superhero like Ladybug then the city would be much safer."
He clenched his fists and forced himself to turn away. As soon as he got to the park he punch a tree so hard it left an indent of his fist. He is an annoying insect. Unfortunately he didn't believe in attacking civilians if they didn't attack first.
His posture turned rigid he heard a familiar figure land next to him. He turned around to see 'Ladybug'. Well not his Ladybug, the one he once knew but Rena Rouge using the Ladybug miraculous. He wasn't stupid even if they thought he was.
"What are you doing here?" He asked coldly.
He glared at her, just looking at her made him sick. It wasn't the one he knew from a long time ago. That one is long gone. His posture turned rigid as he turned towards the imposter as he fought the old memories. She was around his age but of darker complexion than the other Ladybug while her personality was also much more sassier and her eyes were also different.
He never knew who Rena Rouge was but he never liked her in the first place and now, he wanted nothing more than to ram her through with a cataclysm.
"Cat Noir I heard you helped but down a robbery," Ladybug said, awkwardly avoiding his gaze.
He nodded. "So?"
Ladybug frowned and folded her arms. "You didn't think of alerting me?"
He extended his baton, Ladybug flinched and took a step back. "I told you I work alone now and to stay the hell away from me," he said coldly before vaulting himself up into the air and into the night.
What a pest. Nothing made his blood boil more than to work with her.
That night Adrien Agreste tossed and turned in his bed as he had that familiar nightmare. It was the same one, the memory where his childhood ended and the beginning of the end of his happiness.
The day started out normal; school, fencing, and the usual akuma attack. It all ended with him doing his homework in his room while his father was downstairs, he was unusually excited his father promised to actually be there for dinner this time. He was on his computer doing homework when he heard shouting and commotion from downstairs. "What's going on?"
He quickly got up from his seat and raced downstairs his bodyguard not far behind him. "No!" His father screamed from behind the door.
"It's over," said a familiar voice followed by his father's scream.
His eyes widened. "Dad!" He quickly raced to his father's office and flew the door open.
Inside his dad lay on the ground bloodied while Nathalie lay unconscious in his arms bleeding profusely. "Dad! Nathalie!"
He covered his mouth and turned to see the assailants his eyes widened. "L-Ladybug!" No this can't be. Yet he recognized his teammate who stared at him wide eyed along with her companion Rena Rouge. Both of them stared at him in shock the colors drained from their faces
"Adrien please run," His father begged before coughing up.
"No!" he quickly ran between them his body shaking as Ladybug and Rena Rouge stared at him wide eyed. "Ladybug please this must be a misunderstanding."
"No No," Ladybug said her body shaking as she took a few steps back. "A-Adrien this isn't what it looks like."
His father behind him coughed. "A-Adrien it's alright forget about me get somewhere safe away from them. They want me dead there is nothing I can do."
Tears fell down his face as he grabbed his father's bleeding hand. No no this must be a nightmare. His body shook as his father coughed up blood and held the wound on his chest.
"Dad!" he turned around tears falling down his face as he held his trembling father. "Please you promised we would eat together tonight."
His father gave him a weak smile. "Forgive me Adrien, please run and hide. Know that I always loved you and your mother."
The warm blood fell onto him as his father collapsed on the ground. "Dad!" Tears fell down his face as he rushed to him the wounds on his body were bleeding profusely. "Why." He turned to face Ladybug his body shaking as fear, sorrow, and anger boiled inside of him. "You murdered him!"
Adrien woke up the next morning with tears in his eyes. "Man it's been so long," he muttered as he cleaned his face.
It's already been ten years since that day. He took a deep breath and got out of bed and got ready for that day. I still miss you dad.
Since then many things have changed though he still was Adrien Agreste at heart.
He quickly showered and got ready for the day. Looking in the mirror he sighed as he combed his hair. He still managed to keep himself in shape between his career as a model and a superhero. Fittingly his body was lean and muscular while his jawline was firm.
"Well off to work," he said as he put on his watch and grabbed his briefcase.
His bodyguard drove him to the office, even after all these years he still watched over him. "Well it's a new day," he muttered as arrived at Agreste Tower, the main center of the Agreste brand that controlled all of his franchises.
He passed by the many workers at the tower, greeting everyone with a friendly smile as he headed to his office. His bodyguard waited outside as he entered the quiet room. His office had a large window that over looked the city while a table and desk were in the middle of the room. Hanging on the wall were pictures of his parents and Nathalie.
As he sat down on his desk he looked at the picture of his family. I wish you could see what I have done with the brand father. I know you would be pleased. You're business not only survived but thrived.
Shaking his head he ignored the tears in his eyes as he took out his laptop and began to work. Our companies profits are stable but we could do more to in improving employee satisfaction and profit margins. He tapped his finger on his desk as he looked through the various reports on the company's profits before stopping on the designs he made.
"This fashion show isn't going to do itself," he muttered as he looked over the various plans he had to do. Money for advertising and materials followed by the clothing designs he meticulously made. He had to look over it all less something fell by the wayside. This will be it, I won't fail.
Marketing is recommending a new advertiser. Maybe I could find one somewhere. He sighed and put the papers down. I'm a fashion designer, not a marketer.
"Hey Adrien you work too hard you know that?" Plagg said as he came out of the ring. "Maybe you should take a break."
He smiled at the kwami. "If I don't my family's business will fall apart." He sighed as he rested in his chair. "I've kept the Agreste brand stable for a while I don't intend to let it fall apart." A pang of sorrow hit him as he looked at the portrait of his father on the wall. "My father did everything for this brand, I won't let him down. I'll make it grower larger."
Resting in his chair he looked at the plans he made so far for the newest line of the Agreste brand. The fashion show would be the first he planned entirely by himself, in the past due to difficulties he had to rely on partners and family to help him. I won't let you down father.
With being a model, CEO, and a superhero he knew he was busy and had a little too much on his plate but he found a way to make it work. It's all a good distraction. Besides there hasn't been an akuma attack in ten years.
He smiled at his kwami. "Come on after I finish these reports I'll give you some cheese then we can have some fun."
Plagg smiled at him. "Sounds like a plan."
He laughed as his gaze rested on the picture of his father and Nathalie on his desk. A pang of sorrow hit his heart as he remembered their last moments together. Father I won't let you down. If only you could see what I have done. I will make the Agreste brand grown in your memory. He winced at his father's final moments. Forgive me for loving her. His body turned rigid at the thought of his former teammate. Ladybug wherever you are stay hidden. I having to say to you. We are no longer partners and we definitely not a team.
AN: So this story is still a work in progress so don't expect it to be updated as often but it will be completed. Also the sentimonster theory in all its forms will be disregarded in this story 100%.
As for Thomas Astruc I will be using the character that appeared in the series so in no way am I actually attacking the real life person, just the character. If you know James Jonas Jameson from Spiderman that is what his role will be like with Cat Noir in this story :).
Lets just say Ladybug and Cat Noir will have a very different dynamic in this story let me know what you all think. Please like, follow, and leave me your opinions in the review section.
