Boredom.

That's what the man in the presidential suite of the Lucky 38 felt as he sat on his swivel chair and spun around and around trying to end his boredom. Who was this man that was unfortunately losing this battle to boredom? Courier Six, the man who defeated the Bull, the hero of the Bear, the man who survived the Sierra Madre and walked away with its riches, the man who helped saved Zion Canyons tribes from the White Legs and their leader, the man who survived the experiments of Big Mountain, the man who survived the trials and his past of The Divide, he is the man who saved the Mojave from the Bull.

And yet even with all he has done not even he was able to escape the evil clutches that were boredom. What could he even do at this point? Caesar's legion had fallen apart and even small groups that even tried to gain power back either fell apart or were crushed, he helped Hardin become the new elder of the Brotherhood of Steel, he was able to help strengthen the NCR thanks to Yes-Man and the upgrades to the Securitrons and able to make them make Freeside more cleaner from chem addicts but also tear down the wall that separated it and the Strip.

Courier slammed his head onto his wooden desk as he groaned. He brought up his left forearm onto the desk as he started to mindlessly look at his Pip-Boy and just look through his inventory. He decided to look through his weapons first and checked each gun and saw that they were all in great condition and then checked his seeing that he had more than enough ammo to last him three wars, which he can gladly thank the Think Tank for helping him create a portable machine to create more ammo for him all he had to do was feed it scrap metal to it and presto more ammo, luckily this was the Mojave he was in so scrap metal wasn't an issue and even if it did come to that he could always use the metal parts of armor any raiders or Powder Gangers he came across wore. And he had to thank the Think Tank for actually giving him schematics for all his weapons and armor too, and giving him some upgrades as well to his Pip-Boy now being able to communicate to allies over long distances though of course something like that isn't cheap, though luckily no caps were needed.

Though it did mean having any and all implants he had obtained in the Big MT removed and upgraded. While some would say how it would be a downside to get upgrades to his Pip-Boy and implants and even what was essentially infinite ammo, Courier would tell them how they would feel about suddenly waking up mid surgery as you watched a brain jar scientist with screens for a face use a claw machine that also held your heart while the pain killers wore off exactly as you woke up and had to stay awake and not move a single inch? Not good. Though it was worth the pain, oh so so much pain was felt that day for Courier and vocal cords especially, as not only did they upgrade the implants to be better but also found a way to incorporate them harmoniously with his organic parts. Even got new implants to make him tougher and stronger and faster. Though they did do something else that he doesn't know or remember since they told him they were going to do something with his genes right as they injected him with sedatives.

Luckily it wasn't anything major like a huge ass tail or an extra head or turning into a giant green hulking beast who spoke in third person. Though it did make him slightly worried since the Think Tank wouldn't really tell him what exactly they messed with in his genes but they did tell it wouldn't affect him health wise or him having kids so at least that was some good news for Courier.

Sighing even harder, Courier wished something cool would happen to him or even around him. The most recent thing that happened to him when he visited Big MT and they discovered alien life! So of course they sent their favorite mailman to check it out. Turned out it was aliens, keyword was, as apparently it was a bunch of human prisoners who had rebelled against their alien captors and had apparently stopped them from destroying earth four years ago. Though one human who had left the ship nicknamed "Mothership Zeta" by the humans was called Lone Wanderer, they didn't know his name though he was like two other legendary Vault Dwellers, the first one called Vault Dweller, and the second one was a descendant called the Chosen One.

It was nice to hear that there were others who had also helped to keep the wasteland safe from evil just like he did with Caesar's legion. Though the Mothership Zeta crew, at least the ones that were able to speak English at least or those who had decided to stay on board, told him about the aliens and their sick experiments including the abominations. When he reported back to the Think Tank they were of course and understandably upset but once they heard about the giant death laser the aliens were pointing at the planet, more specifically North America, they were glad those gosh darn aliens were dead! No one threatened the greatest country in the world and got away with it

Courier did bring back some DNA samples from any of the still alive alien workers. Now that he thought about it over again that probably explains why The Think Tank wanted to look at his genes. Shuddering at the possible thoughts they would want them for and what they might have done to them.

Shaking his head to get out any thoughts of alien abominations Courier turned his Pip-boy off and got out his chair and stretched. Courier had an above average athletic build for a guy in the Mojave, being at 6 '00 with short black hair, warm beige skin, and some stubble slowly coming in. Courier Six then put on the Elite Riot Gear which he had found in the Divide and had kept wearing throughout the Divide and after finishing the Divide and only switching it for the Power Armor whenever facing Death Claws or the rare occurrence of a Behemoth. Compared to a normal Riot Gear or the Advanced version the ERG came with more attachments, a white U.S. Army star on the side of his helmet with additional green tubes on its enhanced gas filter as well as an antenna connected to the flashlight on the right side of the helmet. On the chest plate there was a bandolier that span across the chest plate, along with a strap of pouches. Though only one change he made to the Elite version was with the duster and keeping the dark brown duster from the advanced version and had the shoulder plates attached to the dark brown duster and armored knee guards.

"*Beeping noises*"

Looking at the source of beeping was perhaps one of his greatest companions, ED-E. If one were to ask out of all his companions who Courier Six favorite companion on his journey was he would say all of them were his favorite though he knew in his heart it was the eyebot that he had first met in the Divide and later reunited with in Primm even if it wasn't the same bot he had met in the Divide. Of course he did make some upgrades to the bot, like making upgrades to its metal and upgrading it to some titanium that he had found deep in a vault to make the little bot more durable to gun fire and also plasma and lasers and also upgrades to the little bots weapons, sure the zapper was nice but after a little incident with a super mutant it was definitely time to upgrade weapons. The little bot was upgraded with both plasma and lasers and a mini tesla cannon which Courier had to come up with a design for and even was able to install a communicator inside the little bot so he could communicate with the bot and to also communicate with others through ED-E. Sure he wasn't as smart as all the Think Tank combined before they went slightly insane but he also wasn't a dumbass either.

"Oh hey ED-E how ya doing?"

"*Happy beeping with cheering audio playing*"

"Heh that's good to hear."

Courier Six smiled underneath his helmet as the eyebot floated into his room and Courier patted the Eyebot on its head as an idea had formed in the Courier's head.

"Say buddy, how about I take you to the Big MT?"

"*Confused beeping*"

"Yeah yeah I know only I can go to the Big MT but I think it would be a nice treat for you to see all the cool tech there plus being able to talk with other machines with personalities!."

ED-E bobbed up and down which was his version of a nod. Smiling underneath his helmet Courier Six pulled out a small gun like device which looked similar to a detonator, its orange back casing with an aqua colored clear plastic top containing an electronic chip to the end and a concentration of lightning in the rest, with a barrel sticking out from the front attached via black tubes running down the sides. With a thick antenna and a spherical point and the end of the antenna.

"Alright ED-E let's get outside first and then we'll go."

"*Beeping noises*"

Both Courier and ED-E exited the presidential suite that the NCR had graciously given him as a thanks for his efforts at the second battle of Hoover Dam and out of the Lucky 38 Casino. Wrapping his right arm around the eyebot and Big Mountain Transportalponder in his left hand he pointed the teleporter into the air.

"Let's go!"

Pulling the trigger both were expecting to be teleported to the Big MT instantly and without worry. However both would see that they were both still at the entrance of the Lucky 38 causing Courier to look at the device and point it at the sky and pull the trigger again.

"I said let's go!"

However just like the first time nothing had happened causing the Mojave's favorite mailman to groan.

"Oh come on you gotta be kidding me…"

Looking at the device he had realized that the usual electric current that was inside the device was no longer there.

"Ah of course just when we were about to do something fun boredom used its evil powers to try and ruin our fun! Well unfortunately for boredom I have at my side the greatest of all bots in the Mojave! ED-E my good man if you will kindly please zap the device?" Courier Six asked his robotic companion in the fanciest voice he could come up with.

"*Fancy beeping noises*

Aiming the mini tesla cannon at the device ED-E gave it a small shock which had thankfully worked and had recharged the device! Though the electricity inside the device was a darker blue than normal though Courier chalked it up to only having enough power for one jump, shrugging his shoulders Courier Six grinned and aimed the device to the sky once again.

"Hah take that boredom we have triumphed over you once again! Now then Geronimo!"

Pulling the trigger the device had finally activated and started to work! Though unfortunately for our duo instead of being instantly transported to the Big MT the dark blue electricity broke out of its small containment and had enveloped both Courier Six and ED-E as both could suddenly feel themselves getting lighter despite them being on the ground still before both visions had gone into complete darkness.

Opening his eyes Courier Six groaned as he finally awoke and looked around he instantly could tell that he wasn't at the Big MT nor the Sink. Remembering why he wanted to even go there he looked around for his robotic companion and sighing in relief as he had heard the eyebots beeping next to him.

"Whew thank goodness ED-E you are still safe and in one piece."

Groaning as he cracked his back he looked around seeing that the location they were in wasn't the one they were aiming for. Though instead it was more beautiful than either expected. The area that they had found themselves in was a beautiful forest with a nice orange sky with few clouds to be seen. Courier looked down at the ground and knelt as he removed his glove to feel the ground and felt the grass and then the trees as well even noticing small insects crawling around on the bark of the tree.

"Woah when did those brain heads redecorate the entire Big MT and make everything so… green?"

"*Confused beeping*"

"Yeah me too ED-E. Maybe they finally decided to-"

However, whatever the Courier was going to say was interrupted when he heard screaming out in the distance. Courier and ED-E looked at each other and quickly ran towards the source of the screams. Running past the many trees the duo finally get out into the open to see that there were bodies strewn about clearly having been gunned down but by who? Well Courier and ED-E got their answer when seeing what looked to be a young boy running for his life before falling face first onto the ground while what looked like a humanoid looking robot though the robots hands, head shape and legs were way different from a humans but what really got Couriers attention was the single glowing eye. The robot took a couple steps forward and aimed what Courier could only assume was a gun Courier quickly pulled out the Holorifle that Courier had kept during his time in the Sierra Madre and looked down the scope of the weapon and aimed at the robot and quickly fired a shot at the robot. The shot landed and the robot was knocked back dropping its rifle as both Courier and ED-E ran towards the robot while ED-E played his oh so ever iconic battle music.

ED-E quickly fired a few laser bolts at the robot as it attempted to grab its rifle to attack back but it must have not expected lasers to be fired at it as it screamed in pain. Courier quickly holstered the Holorifle onto his back as he equipped another weapon this one being a modified Power Fist known as the Industrial hand and quickly activated it as the circular saw blade on the back roared to life as Courier punched the robot straight in the chest cutting the robot and causing white liquid to be splattered onto the weapon. The robot retaliated by punching Courier away and was surprised decently from how strong the robot had hit him but had to move out of the way again as the robot had attempted another punch but missed with ED-E this time firing plasma shots at the robot doing more damage at it. Courier quickly took the opportunity as he punched the robot again this time in the back and then activating the saw blade and using his other hand to hold the robot closer slowly cutting into the metallic foe and gritting his teeth pushed the saw blade further as metal screeched from being cut as the robot screamed in pain yet though in a way Courier could not really understand but not caring either as the robots white blood came spraying out onto the Courier and with a final roar cut upwards splitting the robot in half from the waist all the way through the head.

Panting the Courier kicked the now dead robot to the ground before wiping off as much of the white blood as he could as ED-E played victory music. Shaking his head at the eyebots choice in victory music the Courier walked up the kid who was crawling away from him.

"Hey hey hey it's okay I'm friendly, friendly I swear."

The Courier puts away the Industrial Hand and held his hands up.

"Can you understand me? What happened here? Where's your parents?"

Looking at the young boy Courier could see that the boy was scared out of his mind panting heavily and looking wide eyed at him.

"Hey it's okay I'm like you. I'm human like you look."

Slowly Courier removed the Elite Riot Gear helmet and the young boy could see that the Courier was telling the truth that he was indeed human. The young boy calmed down slowly before standing wobbly.

"Are you okay? Where's your parents?"

The child said nothing as he just ran up to the Courier and hugged the mailman bawling his eyes out. The Courier had his hands held up, surprised and not really knowing what to do before slowly patting the boys back and trying to talk in a soothing voice.

"Hey it's okay it's okay."

Slowly the young boy had stopped crying and the Courier was able to get a better look at the boy seeing him wear a light gray jacket, dark blue cargo pants, black combat boots and dirty blonde hair.

"Are you alright?"

The boy had nodded his head saying nothing to the Courier, no doubt still somewhat scared of what he had seen him do to the robot. The Courier was about to ask the young boy where his parents were but the look in the young lad's eyes told him the answer. Sighing, The Courier looked at the dead robot and spotted the rifle that the robot had dropped and picked it. The design was unknown and foreign to Courier, and he had been all over the wasteland yet never had he seen something like this. Closest he could think of was the alien weaponry he had on him yet even they didn't look so sleek or as clean as what Courier assumed to be a rifle of some kind.

Deciding to keep the rifle with him, Courier thinking it would be useful the Courier looked at the young boy and kneeled right in front of the young lad.

"Hey I'm going to go try to find someone that can help. But I don't want you to be left alone so do you want to come with me until we can find someone who can help you?"

The boy looked at the Courier before silently nodding his head.

"Alright then but I want you to stay behind ED-E, my friend over there, so you can stay safe okay?"

The young lad nodded again as the Courier smiled and put back on the Elite riot Gear helmet and stood up and put away his newly acquired rifle and switched back to the Holorifle. Courier Six began slowly jogging with ED-E behind him and the young boy behind the little eyebot trying his best to keep up. After minutes of jogging they had reached another area filled with crates and what appeared to be a station. But what really got the Couriers attention were the two people in the middle of it all surrounded by the bodies of the dead robots though what really made those two people stand out to the Courier was that they were freaking aliens!

Courier Six quickly used the Holorifle's scope to get a better look at the aliens; he could see that both were six feet tall with three fingers and their faces having what the Courier could only assume to be mandibles. Their legs looked similar to avian life that he had seen in pre war books. One was wearing black armor with red here and there with what he assumed to be tribal painting on its face while the other one wore white armor and had a black head piece on its head, a cybernetic left arm with tubes connecting to its body and also noticeably no face paint on the second alien's face. The Courier tried to listen in on what they were talking about however he could not understand a single thing they were saying at all. Silently groaning Courier was about to put away his Holorifle but stopped when he saw the black armored alien turn around and the white armored alien point a weird looking pistol at the aliens back.

Despite not knowing what's going on the Courier knew when someone was a backstabber, he saw it happen many times in the Wasteland and acting quickly and activating V.A.T.S. Courier quickly targeted the pistol and fired. The child quickly hid behind a tree and the pistol flew out of the alien's hand causing the other alien to turn around seeing the pistol on the ground and realizing what almost had happened. Courier Six and ED-E began to fire at the white armored alien again forcing it to run and grab its gun and go behind cover. Courier Six and ED-E then charge forward to get closer towards the alien as the Courier quickly switches the Holorifle for a plasma pistol and starts to fire at the white armored alien while ED-E plays his battle song and fires a laser at the white armored alien.

It was surprising to see his old mentor Saren on Eden Prime, especially when the Geth, the race of AIs created by the Quarians and later drove their creators out from their system and stayed in the Perseus Veil for 300 years until now, though Saren did say the Council thought he could use help on this one, and Nihlus didn't mind especially since it was Saren, the very Turian who had mentored him and got him into being a Spectre in the first place. But he did find it odd that Saren's left arm was different from the last time they had met. 'Must have been because of a mission' Nihlus thought to himself.

"I wasn't expecting to find the Geth here. The situation's bad." Nihlus told his mentor.

In truth he nor anyone would have expected to see Geth here beyond the Perseus Veil, especially when he had to shoot down weird looking humans that tried to attack him. Shepard, the man he was sent to watch over by the Council to see if he was ready to become the very first human Spectre as the mission was originally intended to be to obtain a intact Prothean beacon, told him about Geth impaling poor civilians onto spikes and turning them into "Husk" as dubbed by Shepard and his team.

Saren walked past him as he said that and unknown to the Spectre his mentor had pulled out a pistol and aimed it at the back of his head.

"Don't worry. I've got it under control." Saren had told his former protege. And before Nihlus could really think about it, Saren had said a shot had rang as Nihlus quickly turned around and saw Saren, his former mentor, had almost shot him in the back of his head with a pistol. Music played as out from the trees came out a small round robot with what Nihlus assumed was the speaker playing the music, with antennas on top of it and what looked like something to fire with while it floated. Next to the floating robot running alongside it was a human wearing a helmet with glowing red visored eyes with a white star on the side with tubes and an antenna and flashlight, the chest had a strap that spanned across their chest plate along with pouches. They wore a brown duster with shoulder plates and armored knee guards and human combat boots.

The man was holding what he assumed to be some kind of pistol and pulled the trigger of the strange looking pistol and to his surprise he was firing green plasma from his gun while the round floating robot was firing lasers at Saren. Saren quickly grabbed the pistol he had almost killed Nihlus with and got into cover behind one of the crates as the two newcomers ran towards Saren. Shaking his out of his surprise Nihlus quickly grabbed his shotgun and quickly got behind cover when Saren began to return fire at all three forcing the man and robot to get behind the same cover as Nihlus.

"I don't know who you two are but thanks for the save!"

Nihlus quickly popped out of cover and fired his shotgun at where Saren was hiding behind before going back to cover himself when his gun had overheated. Looking at the two he was surprised to see them looking at him as if they were dumbfounded.

"Holy moly you speak english!?" The armored man said. Nihlus was confused at the man's response, he was acting like he had never seen an alien before or even talked to one. The robot beeped though Nihlus didn't speak robot so he didn't know what the robot was saying at all but the man nodded his head as if he did speak robot. The man popped up and fired his pistol at Saren the exact moment he had popped out of cover and was able to score a few shots on his armor scorching it and no doubt burning the Turian but not breaking the kinetic barriers however the lasers the robot was firing was able to ignore the kinetic barriers and shoot through the rouge Turian. Cursing, Saren used his biotics to use Throw on the round robot to throw it into one of the crates damaging the crate.

"ED-E!" The man yelled out before firing back at Saren, scoring a few more hits against Saren's kinetic barriers and even being able to break it, however Saren was able to get payback for that and shot the man easily as if he didn't have a kinetic barrier at all. Quickly pulling the man back into cover Nihlus quickly popped out of cover and fired a shot at Saren forcing the now rouge Spectre to retreat further into the train station. However before leaving Saren pointed to where the three were.

"Get them! Make sure they don't live!"

Geth troopers soon started to come in from the train station and started to fire at the threes cover as Saren made his way to the train. Nihlus quickly started to fire at the approaching Geth troops and was able to quickly take out a few however he did get shot a few times by the Geth's pulse rifles and had to get back into cover and apply Medi-Gel to his wounds but to his surprise he saw the man fire back at the approaching Geth despite his wounds and was aiming accurately taking out the Geth in only a few shots, only ever having to stop to either avoid being fired at or to Nihlus's surprise to reload the pistol and then went back to shooting at the Geth. After only two minutes of the firefight both Nihlus and the man were able to clear out the Geth and finally catch a breather.

Nihlus looked at the man seeing him against the crate panting and groaning. Kneeling down next to him Nihlus checked the damage and could see that he was shot through the shoulder arm and even through the torso. Quickly pulling out his Omni-Tool Nihlus was about to apply Medi-gel onto the man's wounds but the man held up his good hand as if to stop Nihlus and pulled out what looked to be some kind of syringe and injected himself with it and to the Turian Spectre's surprise the wounds healed up quickly as if they weren't there at all and the man sighed in relief and stood up as if he was never shot at all.

Shaking out of his surprise Nihlus rose up as well with the robot he now knew as ED-E floated over to the two alongside a young boy following behind it. Looking at the boy he then looked at the man.

"I am assuming the child is with you?"

The man shook his head. "Yeah I saved him from one of those robots. Me and ED-E were trying to find someone that could help get the kid out of here."

"I see then. I also want to say thanks again for saving me. I never thought Saren would try to kill me or work alongside Geth."

"Geth?" The man said with confusion in his voice. Which made Nihlus confused, everyone had heard and learned of the Geth in their lives before, their history and their creators and the law that banned AIs as well.

"Yes Geth. The "robot" you killed was a Geth. How have you never heard of the Geth? What planet are you from?"

"I don't know, never seen a robot like these Geth before, especially ones that looked so… weird. And planet? Wait, do you mean we're on a different planet right now? You're telling me that we're not on Earth but on a completely different planet?" The man looked at ED-E. "ED-E we may be the very first human and robot to be standing on a completely different planet!"

"*Beeping noises*"

"Well okay sure maybe not first but come on ED-E let me have this one! Fine, how about the first Wastelanders to ever meet a new alien species?"

"*Beeping noises*"

"HAHA OH YEAH BABY! FIRST WASTELANDERS TO BE ON A DIFFERENT PLANET AND MEETING A NEW ALIEN SPECIES! WHOOO!"

Nihlus was confused now. The man was acting as if this was a first contact scenario when humanity already made first contact with alien life 30 years ago in the First Contact War in 2157. And Wastelanders? Had he missed some big event in human history that they are now calling themselves Wastelanders?

"Oh uh right sorry for not introducing ourselves earlier. As a representative of earth or more specifically the Wasteland I would like to introduce myself. The name is Courier Six, though you can call me Courier." The man now known as Courier held out his hand. "And the robot next to me is my best friend, ED-E, say hello ED-E."

"*Beeping noises*"

Raising an eyebrow, or well a Turian equivalent of one, he shook The Couriers hand.

"Nihlus, Spectre of the Council. I don't know what rock you have been under but you do realize that humanity has been in contact with aliens for nearly 30 years."

"30 years!? Since when?!"

Nihlus was very surprised at the Couriers reaction. Either he really did live under a rock for most of his life or this was one of those humans humanity sent in their older ships in cryo pods to explore the galaxy before meeting the Council. Though that didn't really explain the latter part since no Council race or any other race besides the Geth have ever created plasma or laser weapons including ED-E who especially didn't look like any type of machine he has seen before.

"Since 2157 in the First Contact War."

"I-I'm sorry did you say 2157? What year is it currently?"

"2183."

The Courier had taken a few steps back and ED-E had to support him to make sure he didn't fall over.

2183!?

That was the year that the Courier kept repeating in his head. Courier Six had to go over all the possibilities in his head as to how he and ED-E had possibly traveled 98 years in the past! (in Mass Effect 1 the game place takes in 2183 while in New Vegas takes place in 2281 for those wondering)

But the possibility of time travel was thrown out the window when he had to remember every single detail of Wasteland history he could think of. No way the Wasteland had any contact at all with aliens especially in 2157 or for 30 years! The only time the Wasteland had aliens was the Zetans and a rumor about some man in a blue box.

"But what about The Great War of 2077? The Wasteland? Deathclaws or Supermutants or Ghouls? Do any of those ring any bells?"

Nihlus shook his head. "I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with human history but we Turians do have a fascination with species and their wars. However we never heard of humanity having a great war in the year 2077 or any of the other terms you used."

The Courier was just reeling from the news at this point. The history that he and every other Wastelander knew of was just being told straight in his face "hey yeah that great war that affected the whole world never happened". If The Great War never happened before does that mean Earth and more importantly the Mojave wasn't a nuclear wasteland? Did that mean none of his friends or allies even exist? Did… he even exist in this new reality? But he was standing right there with ED-E right next to him, but Nihlus just told him the Great War never happened. But if the war never happened what did this mean for him and ED-E? The Courier felt nauseous and almost fainted from that thought but thanks to ED-E he held onto consciousness for longer and shook his head.

However before The Courier could ask anymore questions Nihlus held out his arm and a transparent orange thing appeared over his arm as he waved it over both the Courier and ED-E. After a few seconds he looked at the thing and his eyes widened as if surprised.

"By the Spirits you've been contaminated with radiation! More times than any human should have! And it seems you still have faint traces left."

The Courier was confused at this. Was it not normal for people to be contaminated by radiation a few times in their lives? But maybe in this new reality the Courier was finding himself in they never had to deal with the horror that was radiation as a daily occurance. Maybe they didn't have to worry about radiation polluting water or crops as much as the people of the Wasteland did. Maybe they didn't have to worry about being killed or eaten by a Deathclaw or Supermutant on a daily basis like he or someone from the Wasteland did.

Was this just a dream or nightmare he was having? Did the teleportation fail and both he and ED-E just die in an explosion from the Big MT teleporter? Was this just an elaborate thing his mind was coming up with while he slowly died? Shaking his head the Courier couldn't be thinking of such things at a time like this. But he knew he would have to confront that thought again at some point but now was not that time.

The sound of running got everyone's attention as Courier Six got in front of the child and aimed his plasma pistol and Nihlus aimed his shotgun as well. However no shots needed to be fired as three armored humans came into view running while holding what Courier could almost assume to be guns.

When the three newcomers arrived the one in front came up to Nihlus and started to ask questions including who Courier and ED-E were and where did they come from. However he stopped the man from asking anymore questions.

"No time Shepard I need you to quickly go after Saren, he's turned rouge and is working with the Geth. He must be after the Prothean beacon. I need to get these three out of here. And have Courier here get checked by the doctor."

The man now known as Shepard nodded his head and quickly he and his squad left towards the train station.

"Follow me Courier, no doubt you have a ton of questions and I do too but we're still in enemy territory right now and it's best for us to get the child out of here."

The Courier nodded his head, he knew when he didn't know what was going on and best bet was Nihlus was his and ED-E's best bet off this planet. Nihlus then brought his three digit hand to his ear as if communicating to someone.

"Moreau, I'm going to need you to extract me. I have a civilian and two…" Nihlus looked at both Courier and ED-E. "Two friendlies right now. Shepard is going after the target so also be ready to pick him up."

Nihlus then imputed coordinates into the orange device on his hand, it strangely reminded Courier of his PipBoy but more orange and transparent. Nihlus gently grabbed the boy's hand and looked at the young lad.

"We're going to get you somewhere safe so stick close with us and I promise you you're going to be okay."

The boy nodded and Nihlus quickly went as Courier and ED-E followed along with the Spectre. The group only ever stopped when there was Geth or a Feral Ghouls distant relative or as Nihlus had called them "Husk". Though just like the Ghouls of the Wasteland they were no match for his trusty .357 Magnum Revolver any that got too close to him met an unfortunate end by his trusty Ripper, hopefully the kid won't be traumatized after seeing the Courier saw a Husk from the shoulder all the way down to the hip. Or the amount of Husk blood on him. Yeah he'll definitely be fine.

After disposing of the final Husk the group was able to safely drop the boy off at one of the safe zones alongside a few more soldiers of the planet and other civilians. Nihlus then led both Courier Six and ED-E to the destination with a huge wide open area big enough for the entire New Vegas Strip. Suddenly the sound of engines was heard and looking up to both the Courier and ED-E's amazement from the sky above a giant spaceship that looked like the planes from the pre war world but more advanced and way bigger than the reconstructed B-29 airplane the Boomers had came down to the ground and land right in front of them. Soon a door from the side opened up allowing access inside of the ship, Nihlus walked into the ship followed by the Courier and ED-E into a small room. The door closed shut behind them and a female voice came from the speakers.

"Decontamination sequence in progress."

Soon a large scanner from above scanned over Nihlus before slowly coming over Courier and ED-E. However unlike Nihlus and the boy the scanner went red the moment it went over the Wastelanders as an alarm blared.

"Warning. Warning. Radiation detected. Radiation detected."

"Moreau unlock the doors. Captain Anderson will want to talk with our guest."

Soon the alarms stopped and after a few minutes the doors in front of them opened to see men in hazmat suits and having guns aiming at the ground in case someone tried to do something funny.

"Take Courier Six and his friend ED-E to Doctor Chakwas; she will want to examine both of them. I'll speak with Captain Anderson. He'll want to hear what has happened. Moreau be ready to extract Shepard and his team." Nihlus then went past the hazmat guards as they then guided both Courier and ED-E down one level of the ship and into the medical bay area. With the Doctor also wearing a hazmat suit and a small area most likely ready for the two.

"Hello gentlemen, if you could so kindly please take your clothes off."

After what felt like hours of being washed and having to wear a medical gown, which Courier Six didn't enjoy especially after his first time waking up wearing one in the Big MT, he was able to finally able to wear his Elite Riot Gear again though he did have to give his weapons to the guards and PipBoy as well. ED-E had to disable his weapons for safety reasons though both didn't mind it, it was the first time either had been decontaminated like this and to wear clothes that didn't have the tiniest trace of radiation on it.

Courier Six was asked to go to the comms room. Of course alone and guided by the two hazmat soldiers. Entering into the comm room he saw Nihlus talking to another person, this one being human, and by the looks of him was definitely a military man. Heck the way he looked could put the entirety of the NCR to shame, heck not even NCRs General Oliver could hold a candle to this guy. The man was a black male with a buzzcut, no doubt in his 40s. The man wore something similar to what admirals wore in the pre war, but blue with gold on his shoulders and on the edge of his collar. Courier Six, while never officially in the NCR, knew best to give respect to someone and this man in front of him definitely deserved it. And so after entering the room Courier Six gave his best salute he could. The man raised an eyebrow but nodded his head.

"At ease."

Courier Six stopped saluting and tried his best to do a parade rest from memory. He probably failed but hey at least try with your best am I right? The man held his hand up to signal for Courier Six to stop with a small smile on his face.

"You can stop with that. My name is Captain Anderson, captain of the ship you are currently in. Nihlus has told me some of the information you gave him and we looked at some of the weapons you gave including the small wrist device. I'm not going to lie son but it's mighty odd to see someone dress up like you do alongside a floating robot using weapons that either don't exist yet and also antique weapons

Courier Six who stopped doing the parade rest nodded his head.

"Yes sir I can see how odd it is. Though I can answer all your questions, sir."

Courier Six then began to explain everything that he could to the two from the history of where he was from, the Pip-Boy and its functions, his weapons, what and who ED-E was, and the Courier's own history from the moment Benny had shot him in the head two times all the way to the 2nd battle of Hoover Dam. And when Nihlus asked for proof Courier asked for the Pip-Boy and though Nihlus was reluctant, I mean who wouldn't especially after being told the guy in front of you had weapons that could literally turn you into a pile of green goo, though Anderson was able to convince Nihlus and once Courier Six was given back his Pip-Boy he brought out some pre war books and show them timestamps of when they were made. Nihlus said it might have been forged but Anderson did argue that it was hard to forge paper this old, especially some that never existed.

Of course Anderson then explained how different his earth's history was from the Courier's. From how the USSR didn't fall apart and China didn't become the major Communist power to humanities space age to the discovery of Prothean tech, mass relays, First Contact War, and all the way to now. Courier felt a pit in his stomach form as Anderson explained how different his world's history was, how everything that the Courier had known and learnt basically either didn't exist or was useless. Everyone he knew and cared for just didn't exist, heck he would even take Caesar's Legion at this point for even an ounce of familiarity. Heck even the frightening beeping of the Sierra Madr- okay he wouldn't go THAT far but he would almost take anything familiar.

"I know this must be tough on you son, everything you cared for and fought for just to be taken away like being put in a time and place like this must be difficult for you."

Courier Six nodded his head. What would or could he do? They don't accept caps or use pre war cash since everything was now '"creds". What would he even be able to do? He didn't have an ID or anything that could or would allow him to live in this galaxy. However, as if reading his mind Anderson came up with a solution for the Courier.

"However, you might be able to start a new life here. A new identity, some credits to your name, a job, and a home to live in. You can go with the story that you lost your memories and it wouldn't be a lie technically since you did lose most of your memory. Though most likely the Council will want to talk with you. Definitely about your weapons, implants, and where you came from."

"Anderson is right, the Council will most likely want you to allow study on your weapons. And as much as it would give us an edge over any enemy after what you told of your world, I don't want something similar to happen here, especially in the Citadel."

The Courier nodded his head. "Yeah it would be chaos if everyone had plasma and laser weaponry. Though I CAN give something else to them instead."

Pulling up the Pip-Boy the Courier pulled out the Geth rifle that he had acquired back on Eden Prime and handed it to Nihlus to both of their shock.

"What the, is this a Geth Pulse Rifle!?"

"By the Spirits how did you get this?"

Courier Six rubbed the back of his neck. "I may or may not have the habit of looting enemy corpses for stuff. It's how I mostly made caps in the Mojave, kinda selling their clothes or weapons…"

"Well if its Geth it doesn't matter. The Council will definitely take this instead though it's a shame you only were able to get o-"

A pile of Geth Pulse Rifles dropped onto the ground to the utter shock of both Anderson and Nihlus who's jaws hung open wide enough to hit the floor.

"I may or may not also have a bad habit of doing it during battle…"

Both Anderson and Nihlus said nothing as they stared wide-eyed at the pile before both finally shook their heads and looked at the Courier.

"Well son this will definitely make the Council not go for your weapons." Anderson said, almost laughing from the sheer amount of Geth Rifles in the pile.

Courier could almost swear he could see Nihlus have a small smile too though he couldn't really tell. Nihlus nodded.

"I will write a report to the Council about what happened, including Saren's betrayal. Though they might not believe us or Shepard's report once he wakes up."

"You're right, I doubt they will even believe our third party's eye report."

Anderson then looked back at the Courier. "You can go back to the medical bay for now and rest since even though you did save a Spectre and did help with Geth you are technically not a part of Alliance military."

Courier Six nodded his head and gathered up all the Geth rifles and put them away back into his Pip-Boy to the utter surprise of Nihlus and Anderson, Courier Six saluted Anderson again and walked out of the comm room and led back to the medical bay where the eyebot floated there alongside the doctor who was looking at the tablet in her hand, which Courier now knew as a "datapad". And guessing by ED-E staying silent Courier guessed he tried to talk with her but stopped when she probably couldn't understand him. When the eyebot heard the door open it quickly turned towards Courier Six and quickly floated to him. Courier Six laughed at how happy the eyebot was finally being with someone who could understand what he was saying as the Courier sat down on a nearby chair.

"Hey ED-E hope you didn't do anything bad while I was gone."

"Actually your little friend was a very pleasant company to have."

Looking at the doctor Courier Six could see that she had a smile on her face as she put down the datapad.

"Your friend was a very good helper for me while you were gone. Even if I couldn't understand what it said."

"Hah well that's ED-E for you, he's the best friend someone could ask for."

ED-E beeped happily as he enjoyed the praise he was getting.

"Now then Courier Six I believe? If you don't mind, could you please answer some of my questions? I'm actually quite curious about these implants you have."

"Oh yeah yes ma'am I'll answer the best I can."

Please leave any thoughts and reviews as it helps me out a ton to improve the story to be better.

Wanted to do a story like this when the Fallout TV show came out lol but I really got the motivation after beating Mass Effect Legendary Edition and hearing some *SPOILERS* about New Vegas so yeah it really got me to come up with a story I can agree and be happy with and also think of the future for this.

Anyways hope you all enjoy and have a good day/night.

CUT CONTENT:

-Not something that was cut but a fun fact the child design is based off of the child from ME3. Though when trying to remember the child I just searched up "Mass Effect 3 that stupid child" and got what I was looking for lol.

-Before arriving at the station Courier Six was going to be jumped by a Husk and this is where either the animal friend perk would have come in where some of the animals would have come to protect the Courier including both birds pecking and pulling the eyes out of the Husk and a squirrel jumping into the mouth and then chest bursting out of the husk.

-Another version of the jumping Husk part is where the Courier would have used the shovel to beat the Husk to death, in a way similar to how the Soldier from TF2 does.

-During the firefight with Saren I planned for this ALSO to introduce the animal friend perk and would have Saren shoot a bird that was pecking at him and at the bottom of the page I would have put "Friendly fire will not be tolerated!" from Call of Duty as a joke due to how many jokes their are with Turians being called birds.

-This chapter has gone through several rewrites with originally ED-E and Courier Six ending up on the Citadel and meeting Shepard and gang after accidentally bumping into them. Though glad it did since I'm actually happy with how this one is written.
