The atmosphere in the room was a mix of confusion and disgust. The half that knew the issue wore stone cold looks that only furthered the confusion for the other half. Jaune and Neptune had sent out a message to the Disciples of the Broble group chat saying there was an emergency, and now the nine boys who were free, were dotted around the dorm room.
"Is anyone going to tell us what's going on?" Adam Taurus was the one who finally broke the uncomfortable silence, staring at the two who had called the meeting.
"Yeah." Mercury Black added with an uninterested yawn "I'm fucking tired, so this better be important." He shot the two an annoyed glare.
"I guess this is everyone." Jaune stepped up before the group of confused boys "We had a break in last night, thanks to someone." He shot Sun an angry look, who visibly shrunk in his seat next to Sky Lark.
"How is that any of our faults?" Mercury quipped "It's not as if we were the ones who took anything."
"Yeah." Ren agreed "We don't even know what was taken, you can't exactly expect us to care, right?."
"They took the beer..." Neptune informed the group and silence once again fell upon the group.
"And the wine." Dew popped up, next to the hosts "Every last drop of alcohol in this dorm was stolen."
"Why is there a girl at a Broble meeting?" Adam spat in disgust "This is a guys only group."
Jaune clenched his fist and grit his teeth "You think she shouldn't be here?" His eyes scanned over the group "Well, why is she the only one of you that is trying to help with this problem?" His voice raised as he asked the group "As far as I'm concerned, she is more of a Bro than any of you right now." He noticed how most of the group were avoiding eye contact and he let out a sigh, lowering his voice "Besides, when it comes to alcohol, your gender doesn't matter. When we get drunk and party like it's our last night in this fucking world, we are all brothers.
It started off as a single clap and quickly erupted into roars and loud applause. Once the shock of Jaune defending her had worn off, Dew joined in with the cheers.
"So, what's the plan?" Sun asked once the noise had died down "Do we have any leads?"
"We think it was someone who lives in this building." Neptune explained "There would be no reason for anyone other than a resident to be walking around at that early in the morning on a Wednesday." He put his hand on chin in a thoughtful manner.
"So what you're saying." Mercury's face fell as his eyes met Jaune's "Is that there's an impostor among us?"
"I'm not saying that the thief is among us right now. It could be anyone in this building." The blonde replied "That's why I sent the message and currently holding an emergency meeting right now."
"What would you like us to do? Just keep an ear out and see if we hear anything?" Russel asked eagerly, just happy to be apart of the group.
Neptune nodded "I know you and Cardin pretty much know everything that goes on around here, so if you hear anything about 'stolen goods' let us know immediately." He shook his head "I can't believe someone would stoop this low..."
"I'll ask Ilia if she can help!" Sun jumped up "She's like, scarily good at finding stuff out."
"Yes. Do that." Jaune smiled "I want as many eyes and ears on this case as possible."
"That's all for today." Neptune announced "Thank you all for taking the time to come here." He bowed before the group.
Adam stood up and smirked "When a bro is in trouble, we'll always be there to offer our help! Bros!" He called out to the rest of the group "On me!"
"Yes Bro!" The entire group chanted and followed the red head bull out of the room.
Dew looked at Neptune "And I thought the girls fraternities were fucking weird..." She let out an awkward laugh.
"They're alright when you get to know them. I mean, they accepted you as a member." Sun replied from his seat on the couch. He turned to Jaune and frowned "Sorry about the door by the way. I'll get it fixed." He apologised.
"Damn right you will." Jaune sighed and took a seat next to him "Not exactly how I wanted to start my day off."
"You're telling me." Dew shuddered "Kind of feels like I just joined a cult." She took a seat next to Jaune, letting out a sigh of her own.
Neptune scanned the couch and noticed that there were no spaces left and also sighed. He opened his mouth to speak, but was cut off from his stomach grumbling "Fuck... Anyone else hungry?"
"God yes!" They all groaned.
"Diner?" Neptune asked.
"Who's going to stay and make sure nothing else gets stolen?" Dew asked as the boys all got to their feet.
Jaune offered her a hand up and shook his head "They've already taken the alcohol. Nothing left they can take, really."
"Oh, I see..."
~~~Vale University~~~
"Oh fuck!" Dew moaned in pleasure "These pancakes are fucking delicious!" She exclaimed while shovelling another forkful of maple syrup covered pancake into her mouth.
"Told ya so." Neptune grinned through a mouthful of his own food. Because he had spent so long trying to help the girl choose her own food, the boy had just missed out on the breakfast menu and had opted for a beef burger with bacon and an egg in, along with a side of fries.
"I was the one who recommended the pancakes." Jaune said, leaning back in his chair, waiting for his own portion of fries, which Sun had generously paid for, to arrive.
Dew swallowed her food and grinned "I guess you two idiots aren't completely useless."
"Oof." Jaune grabbed his heart in fake pain "Your words have killed me."
"Hmm, your words don't seem to have their usual bite." She hummed "Have you gone soft?"
"He did defend you earlier as well..." Neptune added "Never thought I'd see the day." He smiled at his roommate.
"I don't think I've changed." Jaune simply replied, more interested in the plate of fries that had just been placed before him.
"You do seem a lot more calm than before your weekend away." Sun eyed the boy with a certain degree of suspicion.
"Who'd ya fuck?" Dew asked, cutting off another piece of her food.
Jaune choked on his drink "Nobody!" He answered through his coughs. Once he had calmed down, his gaze zoned on to the smug looking girl "Just cause I'm being nice it doesn't mean that I had sex with someone."
"Yeah yeah." She waved off his argument and went back to her food.
"How was your weekend though?" Sun asked "We've not really had a catch up since you came back."
Jaune shrugged "It was alright. Met some people, had some drinks, went to karaoke. You know? Normal things." He sipped through his straw "And no, I didn't sleep with any of the people I met." He added after seeing the questioning look come over Dew's face.
"Boring..." She muttered.
"What about you guys? Anything interesting happen here while I was gone?" Jaune asked.
"I was home alone when I heard someone using the shower." Sun spoke up "Turns out a girl was following me because she thought I was dating Blake, but now we're pretty good friends." He smiled "Her name is Ilia and we played Stardew Valley for days."
"Okay... So Sun got stalked and is now banging the stalker." Jaune nodded "Neptune?"
"Nothing like that happened to me. Dew and I went out for drinks and spent the night together." The blue haired boy answered "That's about it."
"So I leave for three days and you both find girlfriends?"
"Despite how much fun I'm having with you three today." Dew rolled her eyes at the boys "I hope this doesn't become a regular occurrence."
"Well, how have you been, Dew?" Jaune asked the girl.
Dew was stunned, but quickly composed herself "See! This is what we meant. When would you ever have asked about my personal life?" Jaune was about to answer but was instantly cut off "Without sarcasm." She added.
"Was I really that bad?"
"Yes." All three replied in unison.
"You're fine now though. That's what matters." Neptune said as Jaune's head hit the table.
"Yeah." Sun agreed and patted his back "Just try and avoid things that will cause you to have a breakdown."
Jaune looked up at his friend "You mean like you breaking my front door and causing my things to get stolen?"
"Exactly."
"And stay away from Weiss." Neptune added "I don't know what happened between you two that night, but whatever it was, it wasn't good for you."
"I don't think that's gonna be easy." Jaune sighed.
"Why not?"
"Because Weiss, Yang and Blake are about to walk in the diner." He lazily pointed a finger towards the entrance.
"Ah shit..." Sun muttered, remembering his argument with Yang.
Said girls eyes landed on their table and she sauntered over to the group "Well well well, If it isn't the stalker fucker." The blonde bombshell sarcastically spoke to Sun "Been following Blake around with ya new friend lately?"
"Can you not?" Neptune stood up for him "He can hang out with whoever he likes. Why do you think you can have a say in that?"
"Would you like it if I started dating you're girlfriends stalker?" Yang asked, nodding to the girl next to him.
"She's not like that." Sun felt an anger spike inside "You don't know anything about her, so stop bad mouthing her."
"Tch." Yang clicked her tongue and shot the boy a scowl "Whatever..." She turned heel and returned to where Blake and Weiss were sat.
"She doesn't think we're a couple, does she?" Dew looked at Neptune.
"That's what you ask?" Jaune sighed and shook his head, turning to Sun "You okay?"
Sun let out a sigh and unclenched his hand "Yeah. Can we get out of here?"
"Yeah." Jaune slipped out of the booth and turned to the group "Just give me a second." He said before making his way over to the girls.
"Hey Jaune." Blake said in her usual uninterested tone.
Yang's scowl grew even more "The hell do you want?" She spat, earning herself an elbow from her girlfriend "Sorry..." She muttered an apology.
"I just wanted to come over and say hi." Jaune's eyes landed on Weiss and his smile grew wide "Those jeans really show off your ass." His smirk lasted until he saw the confused and shocked looks of the other girls "Umm, you witch?" He added.
Weiss was currently fighting off a smirk of her own "Haha, stop being such a meanie bo' beanie." She shot the boy a smile, earning her the looks of confusion.
"Well, have a good meal." Jaune waved at the girls before leaving.
"Can.. Can someone explain to me what just happened?" Yang's jaw had practically hit the floor.
"I too would like to know." Blake's eyes were wide "Weiss?"
Weiss adopted a confused expression "What do you mean? He was just being mean like always." She tried to explain "You know how Jaune can be." She waved her hand and laughed awkwardly "Anyway, food?"
"Right..." A defeated Yang frowned.
~~~Vale University~~~
Reese looked down at the poster and couldn't fight off the grin that took over her face "Nolan, this is perfect!" She hugged the boy in excitement "I can't believe this is actually going to happen!" She squealed.
Nolan's face went a deep red when Reese threw her arms around him "Y..Yeah! I spent all night designing it for you, so I'm glad you like it."
"The girls of this Uni are going to love this." She held up the poster "Womanpalooza! It's about time us girls got the chance to have a party without all the guys ruining it for us."
"Haha... Yeah!" Nolan reluctantly agreed. It wasn't as if he agreed with Reese's ideals, he was just terribly in love with her "It should be a good event. I can't wait."
"Haha! Don't be silly, Nolan. You can't come." Reese snorted before going over to the photocopier and placing the poster inside the scanner "It's a girls only event."
"Yeah... I guess that's true." He nervously scratched the back of his head as his eyes were glued to her behind "I just thought, seeing as I helped..."
"It's an event to let the girls feel safe while partying. If make exceptions for you, I'd have to make them for every guy." The green haired nymph frowned "Every girl I've spoken too has told me that they're sick of creepy guys hitting on them when they're out."
"Not me." Ilia called from within her room.
"Don't listen to her, Nolan. She doesn't know what she's talking about."
"You better replace the paper in MY copier."
"Shut up!" Reese called back "Don't you have somewhere to be? Entertaining all of those perverted men?"
Ilia strode out of her room and Reese let out a yelp as Ilia ruffled her hair "If ya lucky, I might even bring the perverts back here for us to share."
Reese was now the one who had become beet red "You will do no such thing!" She screamed in horror "Just leave!"
Ilia freed her roommate and slipped passed her "See you later. Bye Nolan." She said before leaving the two alone.
"She.. She won't actually bring guys back here... Will she?" Nolan asked nervously with a hint of jealousy in his voice.
"If she does, I'll kill her." Reese promised.
Uh oh Jaune and Weiss aren't being too subtle...
