Chapter 1: Remnant Lost
Hey everyone, I'm here with a new story. RWBY has always been a story I wanted to do but with the direction canon went and with all of us still awaiting the confirmation of Season 10, I'll admit it was a struggle until eventually I came up with the idea to take RWBY in a different direction. For anyone wondering when this takes place. Go to Season 8 Episode 12, Creation. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
Now I'm sure you've all heard the story of the dangers of Heartless and what they can do to worlds. If the darkness spreads too much it can completely consume a world and destroy it. But what happens to the people of that world? Where do they end up and what happens to their lives when the only place, they've called home is gone?
And one world was about to learn this the hard way.
The world of Remnant is a world filled with dangerous creatures called Grimm. Soulless creatures who destroy anything and anyone who gets in their way. In order to combat them, they have special people called Huntsmen to fight them. They are gifted with powerful abilities called Semblances and along with their weapons combat the Grimm and the forces of their ruler, Salem.
Zooming in, we find ourselves in a dark mysterious place as darkness begins to spread and in the center of it, we see a woman with deathly pale white skin, jet black sclerae in her eyes, pale white hair, a black dress with red lines and a long cape descending down her. This was Salem.
"I never thought I would find such power in my entire life. With this, I can finally leave all this behind. And I never would have learned about this power if I hadn't found you." Salem hints as we look to the side to see a figure standing against the wall.
We see the figure wearing a black coat that covers their entire body with silver zippers and chains hanging off the side of them.
"You know what I want you to do." Salem orders as the figure nods their head causing Salem to grin.
Meanwhile, in the floating city of Atlas and the city of Mantle below it, another plan was going on. But they had no idea something was coming for them.
General Ironwood, the man everyone once believed was there to protect them was threatening to bomb the city of Mantle in order to get back what he wanted.
And it was up to the people holding what he wanted to stop them.
In front of Atlas Academy, we see a man with black hair, a mustache, and a beard standing next to a young woman with long white hair both are wearing matching uniforms. This was General Ironwood and Winter Schnee.
Suddenly flying in we see a girl with long curly orange hair with a black bow in it, an olive green German-styled dress with a black hem that was striped with emerald green, a white blouse, and a green skirt. This was Penny Polendina.
Landing in front of them, we see Penny turning herself in.
"I didn't think you'd actually come alone," Ironwood said pointing his cannon at her before handing Winter some Gravity bolas to cuff her. "I expected some resistance from your friends."
"I don't want anyone else to die. I must open the vault." Penny said as she was cuffed and Winter drew her sword in case anything happened.
Seeing that their target is secure, Ironwood lowers his cannon and approaches her.
"You've done the right thing," Ironwood said putting his hand on her shoulder.
"I have." Penny smiled before something about her began to change and suddenly standing in front of him was a girl with brown skin, dark red eyes, mint green hair, a mint green top under a white quilted leather jacket, and white skinny jeans. This was Emerald Sustrai.
Appearing behind her we see she had set up an ambush with 4 other people. One was a young boy with tan skin, dark brown hair, an olive coat with shoulder pads, black trousers, boots, and a cane in his hands. An older boy with short spiky blonde hair, a white chest plate, and bracers over a black hoodie, and navy jeans, with a sword in one hand and a shield in another. A girl with orange hair, a long, pink, and white sleeveless coat with light blue lapels, black shorts, and a big hammer in her hands. The final member was a boy with long black hair with a magenta streak going through it and a braid. He wore a sleeveless turtleneck dark green top, white long sleeves underneath, black half of a jacket/arm guard combination on his right arm, white pants, and a pair of pistols with long sickle-like blades under the barrels. These were Oscar Pine, Jaune Arc, Nora Valkyrie, and Lie Ren.
"Feels weird." Emerald smirks.
Before Ironwood could react Emerald does a backflip kicking him in the face and knocking the cannon out of his hand.
Catching the weapon in her cuffed hands, Emerald disappears with it allowing the others to charge in.
Swinging sword and cane, Jaune and Oscar attack Ironwood but he dodges Jaune's attacks and kicks Oscar away.
He was about to move in when a cable shot out from Ren's guns and the general is pulled in. Aiming his other gun, Ren fires but Ironwood shakes off the tether and dodges the attack before delivering a powerful strike knocking Ren to the ground.
Turning to face his enemies he looks in surprise to see Winter pointing her sword at Nora, but not to attack she's powering Nora up with a glyph.
Feeling betrayed he was about to respond but was met with a hammer to the face sending him flying across the ground.
Using her powers, Winter created a manticore made of ice and as she and Oscar climbed onto it they charged at him.
Standing up, Ironwood stops the manticore with his bare hands grabbing it by the horns.
As the riders leap off, Ironwood slams the creation to the ground destroying it.
Using this opening, Winter, fires multiple blocks of ice hitting Ironwood in the back.
Just as Oscar was about to land, Winter made a black glyph under his feet which launched him back at Ironwood nailing the general several times with thrusts from his cane.
Swinging his cane one more time, Oscar was about to land another hit when Ironwood grabbed the cane with one hand. As he was about to strike with his free hand Winter rushes in and delivers a powerful slash attack that resulted in the general collapsing.
Sheathing her weapon, Emerald reappears with the cannon in her hands and herself freed from the cuffs.
"Go. Move to phase two." Winter insists as they all run off leaving her to deal with Ironwood.
In another part of the city, a different group of 5 was sneaking into a hidden vault.
With the real Penny, we see 4 girls. One was a girl with short black hair, silver eyes, a black red lined lace-up corset with four buckles hanging loose over a mesh sleeveless top over a black blouse, a red skirt with a rose emblem on her belt, and a red hooded cape around her neck. A girl with long white hair that had a little icicle-shaped tiara, pale blue eyes with a scar going down her left eye, wearing a pale blue sleeveless dress with deep red lining, a vivid blue shrug with a raised collar, and white boots. A girl with shoulder-length black hair in a bob cut, amber eyes, a purple sleeveless catsuit with attached boots, a white tailcoat with purple detailing, and cat ears atop her head. And the last one was a girl with long, thick, wavy golden hair, and lilac eyes, wearing khaki overalls, a dark brown aviator jacket over it, an orange scarf around her neck, boots, and the most surprising part about her was that she had a yellow robotic right arm. These were Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long.
"Just hang in there, Penny. Okay?" Yang asks as we look to see Penny isn't looking so good and is leaning against Yang and Blake for support.
Making their way up to a vault door, Penny's eyes glowed with green flames as she opened the vault doors.
The second it opened, grabs her team and in a burst of rose petals brought everyone but Penny into the vault where we see a stone platform with a staff floating in the middle.
Reaching out Ruby grabs it and the second she does time around them slowly comes to a stop.
Suddenly appearing in front of them was a large blue man with pointy ears, long hair, and gold chains wrapped around his body. This was Ambrosius.
"Ah! It seems someone has come to engage my creative wiles! All I'll say is it had better be worth it after my last project. A floating city? How pedestrian." He mocks.
"Hi uhm Mr. Ambrosius sir. Listen, it's about our friend. She's... She's dying." Ruby admits.
"I'm gonna go ahead and assume that you know it's against the rules for me to bring people back from the dead so…" Ambrosius starts wondering what they want.
"That's not what we want. She's not your typical girl." Ruby admits.
Curious, Ambrosius floats over to the entrance sees the frozen-in-time body of Penny, and examines her.
"So she isn't! I'd love to meet whoever did this." Ambrosius said before noticing something. "Ah, I see."
Turning around he flew back to them.
"There's something eating away at her. I'm guessing you think you have some clever plan to save her. Just know, I will give you exactly what you ask for and I don't want any complaining when it's not what you wanted." He warns as Weiss and Ruby exchange a nod.
Taking out her scroll, Weiss brings up schematics of Penny.
"We brought her schematics. We want you to make a new version of her using her exact same robot parts." Ruby explains.
"That was curiously worded, girl." Ambrosius points out.
"An exact copy of her would include the virus. An exact copy of her without the virus would cease to exist the second you make something else, and we kinda wanna keep her around longer than that." Ruby admits.
"You've done your homework." Ambrosius chuckles impressed.
"We want you to create a new version of her, using her existing robotic parts taking the virus with them." Ruby clarifies.
Pausing Ambrosius began making a series of hand gestures as if to calculate what the wish would create.
"Okay, but if I take the robot parts out of her, that would leave…" Ambrosius starts.
"Penny. The girl who's always been there underneath it." Blake finishes getting his attention.
"You can't destroy, it's against the rules. But you wouldn't be destroying her. Her soul is who she is." Ruby clarifies.
"The mechanical parts are just…extra," Yang said gesturing to her mechanical arm.
"But a soul without a complete body…what would be left?" Ambrosius asks confused.
"I don't know. I guess you'll just have to get creative." Ruby shrugs.
Hearing this Ambrosius began to laugh amused before flying around making hand signs.
"I suppose I could do a little... Oh, add a touch of... But if I do that, how much of the old Penny would be my work and how much would be her? Just coming up to the surface. This is all very exciting. And very dangerous. I don't know what the results are going to be." He admits turning to them.
"We don't have any other options. We believe in her." Weiss insists.
"Then ready yourselves, to witness my artistry!" Ambrosius declares.
Raising his hands, Ambrosius uses his magic which has Penny levitating into the air. As a bright light engulfs her we see her split into two Pennys.
"It's done." Ambrosius declares before disappearing.
As time slowly began to come back, we see one Penny had no leggings or gloves, her parts had been replaced with human skin while the other was still a robot.
"Penny?" Ruby calls out unsure if it worked.
Slowly opening her eyes, the real Penny looks to her friends and slowly raises her hand examining it before turning to the robot version of her which collapsed to the ground unable to move or even respond thanks to the virus before it eventually broke down.
Walking out, Ruby puts her hand on Penny's shoulder.
"Are you okay?" Ruby asks concerned.
Looking briefly at Ruby's arm and then at Ruby, a smile forms on Penny's face as she hugs Ruby close.
"Do hugs always make you feel this warm inside?" Penny asks.
"Yes." Ruby simply answers before hugging back.
"Wow…" Slowly Penny turns to Weiss. "More!" Lunging at her, Penny gives Weiss a hug and then Yang and then Blake.
"We should probably make sure our theory works," Weiss said.
However, before she could raise the staff and ask for something else a loud explosion echoes from the outside confusing them.
"What was that?" Yang asks.
"Atlas can't be falling that fast," Weiss said confused.
Reaching into her pocket, Ruby took out her scroll.
"Jaune. Jaune what's going on out there?" Ruby asks.
"Ruby! We were about to alert everyone to the plan when it happened!" Jaune said in a panicked tone.
"When what happened?" Ruby asks.
"Everything just turned black! And these things are everywhere! We've never seen anything like them before!" Jaune said.
"INCOMING!" Nora screams as an explosion goes off in the background.
Confused the 5 girls ran out as fast as they could but when they arrived back on the streets of Atlas they saw the sky was pitch black with dark storm clouds around them as several explosions and screams echoed around them.
But what really shocked them was atop one of the tallest buildings stood Salem herself.
"Is that…." Ruby's eyes widen in horror.
"Salem." Yang declares.
"Now is the time. The door has finally opened." Salem declares not taking her eyes off the sky.
Looking up the girls look in horror to see a giant black sphere above them.
"Uh, girls what is that and why do I feel this cold sting coursing through me?" Penny asks.
"That's called fear Penny and I don't blame you," Yang said. "We have to stop this now."
As they were about to run towards Salem, the figure in the black coat appeared in front of them.
"Hey out of the way, we're in a hurry."
However, the figure in the black coat just looks at them, raising their hand the figure snaps their fingers, and suddenly appearing out of the ground 5 humanoid creatures with bodies made completely of darkness rose out of the ground.
"What kind of Grimm are those?" Ruby gasped as the Shadows looked at the girls and lunged at them with sharp claws.
Drawing Crescent Rose, Ruby blocks one and retaliates slashing it away.
Swinging a nasty left hook, Yang punches one causing it to explode into darkness but as one appears behind her, the Shadow lunges at Yang from behind and slashes her leg causing her to cringe in pain.
"Yang!" Gasping Blake threw her Gambol Shroud slashing it into darkness.
"Penny, can you fight?" Weiss asks.
"I believe so." Looking to her back, Penny saw a small white pack, and when it opened several green blades shot out. "Yes, they still work."
As the strange creatures were defeated the Huntresses didn't think they were much of a challenge when suddenly 3 Beowulf Grimm leaped in.
"Oh not these too," Ruby said slashing a Shadow in half.
As the two different types of dark creatures stared them down the girls could only hope their friends were holding up okay.
In an open area, we see Jaune, Nora, Oscar, Ren, and Emerald fighting off a horde of floating balls of darkness with glowing soulless eyes and jagged mouths.
"Where are all these new Grimm coming from?" Nora asks smashing a Possessor with her hammer.
"They don't look like any Grimm I've ever seen," Ren said shooting one.
"Emerald any thoughts?" Jaune asks.
"I think Salem's been keeping secrets from us," Emerald said slashing them away when one surrounded Oscar and the second it touched him he felt himself getting weaker.
"Ugh, what's going on?" Oscar groans when Ren yanks him out and shoots the Possessor destroying it.
"Don't let these things touch you," Ren warns.
As they continue their fights we see from the rooftops a figure under a pink parasol watching this with curiosity and confusion.
Back with Team RWBY and Penny, we see Weiss stab a Grimm with her rapier revealing that was the last of them.
Panting they turned to see the figure in the coat just staring at them.
"Nothing to hide behind now," Blake said but the figure in the coat slowly turned away.
"Hey we're talking to you," Yang said when suddenly the storm around them got worse.
As the darkness gathered the 5 girls looked up in horror to see towering above them a massive, muscular, humanoid creature of darkness with a heart-shaped hole in its abdomen looked down at them.
While they were distracted by the new enemy the figure in the coat took their leave vanishing in darkness.
"Soon. I will finally find a way to bring an end to all of this." Salem grins before darkness envelops her and she disappears.
Turning to them the Darkside swung its hands down creating a shockwave but Weiss slammed her Raiper down creating a wall of ice to block it.
"Alright, I am getting sick of these new crazy Grimm!" Weiss snaps before the setting on her weapon changes and she shoots fire dust at it.
"Me too." Throwing her Gambol Shroud, Blake swung in and fired at Darkside forcing it to pull back.
Charging in, Ruby and Yang leaped at it and delivered several slashes and punches causing it to step back.
"Aim for the legs!" Yang calls out.
Looking at each other, Weiss and Penny nod drawing their blades as they slash at it the Darkside's legs slashing away parts of the darkness.
Growling from the heart-shaped hole in its body the Darkside fires dark missiles that shoot Ruby, Yang, and Blake out of the air.
Gasping Weiss used a glyph to catch them similar to what her sister used to catch Oscar.
"Try this." Creating a barrage of ice, Weiss flung it at the Darkside canceling out the rest of its missiles.
Shaking off the attack, the Darkside's hand touches the ground and from it, more Shadows appear.
"Oh come on. It can make more?" Yang said frustrated.
However, before the shadows could advance a mini-missile flew in and blew one up.
"Mind if we cut in?" Running over they saw Jaune, Nora, Ren, Oscar, and Emerald join them.
"Boy are we glad to see you guys," Blake said.
"Did it work?" Nora asks concerned.
"Can we talk about this later? We have bigger problems. Literally." Weiss gestures.
"Nora, Ren you guys help take down the big guy while we deal with the others." Jaune orders.
Nodding both joined while he, Oscar, and Emerald took on the Shadows.
Swing his sword, Jaune slashes one in half when another lunges at him. Raising his shield he repelled it back allowing Oscar to destroy it with his cane.
Nearby, Emerald fired multiple blasts shooting the shadows.
As two more appear behind them Penny's swords go through them making them disappear into darkness.
Leaping up, Nora brings her hammer down on the Darkside's head before Yang punches it in the upper chest area making it fall back.
Firing a cable, Ren and Blake swing in firing multiple shots at it.
"Ready?" Weiss asks making a black glyph.
"Always." Ruby grins as Weiss launches her at it with her scythe gleaming Ruby deals a powerful slash across its head.
Grinning Ruby thought she had it but when a giant arm came in Ruby was swatted away like a fly and sent crashing to the ground.
"Ruby!" Yang gasps in horror as Ruby groans in pain slowly getting up.
Growling, Yang's eyes turned red as the Darkside turned to her next.
Swinging its arm to deliver another punch Yang blocks it with her much to its surprise before she yanks it in and delivers a powerful left hook.
"Everyone attack!" Yang yells as all of them charge in delivering a powerful all-out attack destroying chunk after chunk of it.
Falling backwards the Darkside was defeated as Yang calmed down deactivating her semblance.
Grinning in victory all of them were ready to fix this mess but before they could even figure out their next move the giant orb in the sky began to react.
As the Darkside was sucked up into it everything around them began to crumble and shake violently.
With the dark sphere closing in on them the ground beneath them began to shake violently and all the light around them began to vanish.
"What's going on?!" Jaune asks as the darkness covers every inch of Atlas including them.
"Everything is falling apart!" Oscar declares.
"What's gonna happen to us?!" Nora asks terrified as Ren hugs her close.
"Yang!" Gasping Ruby saw the darkness surrounding her sister.
"Ruby!" Reaching out Yang tried to run to her but before their hands could touch the darkness grew more and more to the point Ruby couldn't even see her hand anymore.
"NO!" Ruby screams as her eyes glowed just before the darkness enveloped them.
As Ruby felt the darkness enveloping her body a hand suddenly reached in and grabbed her.
Screaming, Ruby sits up and opens her eyes. Looking around frantically she saw she was lying on a bed in a large unfamiliar room.
"W-Where am I? Where's all the Grimm? And Salem? And—" Gasping Ruby had no idea where her friends were.
Pulling back the covers she jumped out of the bed but her legs gave out the second they touched the ground causing her to collapse.
Groaning Ruby struggled to get up.
"Ugh, I feel like a building was just dropped on me?" Ruby groans.
Looking around she couldn't find any sign of Crescent Rose.
Slowly crawling her way toward the door, she saw a shadow approaching her door making Ruby gulp in fear. As the door knob opens, she was terrified by what could be on the other side.
But when it opened Ruby gasped seeing Weiss on the other side.
"Ruby?" Weiss gasps making her smile.
"Weiss! Oh, I'm so glad to see you!" Ruby said overjoyed. "What's going on? What is this place?"
"I don't know. I woke up a few minutes ago in a room with a nice warm bed. I think we're in a mansion." Weiss said.
"You mean your mansion?" Ruby asks not revealing any others back in Atlas.
"No this is someone else's." Bending down Weiss helps her up and places her on the bed.
"Do you remember anything before waking up here?" Ruby asks.
"All I remember was Salem and all those crazy new Grimm attacking us," Weiss said.
"Weiss, where's my weapon?" Ruby asks.
"I don't know but if you can barely move there's no way you can use your semblance. Sit tight here while I do some looking around." Weiss said.
"Weiss no." Ruby starts.
"Don't worry I'll be careful," Weiss assures.
Making her way out, Weiss looked around the mansion they were in. It looks like it has recently been expanded on.
Walking down the halls, she noticed a staircase, it appeared she was on the fourth floor.
"Hmm, odd that a house this big wouldn't have any servants." Weiss ponders when she notices several other rooms across from the ones, she and Ruby were in.
Slowly walking over, she peeked inside one and saw Yang collapsed on her bed snoring loudly on her side.
Blinking curious, Weiss wondered why no one woke up to this.
Closing the door for a few seconds, she realized she couldn't hear anything inside before opening it again to hear the snoring.
"Hey Yang come on wake up," Weiss said shaking her awake.
Groaning Yang moved her arm to shoo her away but Weiss saw her robot arm was missing.
"Yang you know snore when you're on your side?" Weiss points out as Yang slowly sits up.
"Weiss? Oh man, how loud was I?" Yang asks.
"Fortunately, I only heard you when I opened the door, I guess these rooms must be soundproof from the inside," Weiss said knocking on the door.
"Where are we? And where's my arm?" Yang asks.
"I don't know but Ruby is across the hall and she's too weak to even stand at the moment," Weiss said making Yang gasp.
"Wait if Ruby's there? Where's Blake?" Yang asks getting up but cringes in pain.
"I don't know. See if you can find anyone else on this floor. I'm gonna check the lower levels." Weiss said.
Nodding Yang made her way to the next room and knocks on it before slowly opening to see Blake sound asleep.
Smiling Yang was relieved to see she was safe and sound.
Walking inside, Yang bent down. "Hey rise and shine."
Looking at Blake's face Yang noticed a soft smile. She looked so calm so peaceful; she almost didn't want to wake her up. Almost.
Reaching out Yang shook Blake briefly causing her to wake up.
"Yang?" Blake asks opening her eyes to see her.
"Hey, you." Yang smiled and immediately Blake reached out and hugged her surprising Yang.
"I thought we were goners," Blake said relieved to see she was okay.
"Hey, it's okay. It's okay." Yang said hugging back.
Slowly sitting up, Blake took off the covers and slowly stood to reveal she was tired.
"Easy. I don't know why but we're all seriously worn out." Yang said.
"Where is everyone?" Blake asks.
"Weiss is looking around but I need to grab Ruby. Look around this floor and see if you can find anyone or anything that can help." Yang gestures.
Nodding Blake and Yang looked around and saw Emerald and Penny were also on the same floor as them.
On the third floor, Weiss had discovered Oscar, Nora, Ren, and Jaune were also there.
Waking them all up, they met near the staircase to reveal that some were more tired than others and they all had no idea how they got there but they had to get out.
Making their way to the first floor they heard footsteps alerting them.
Hiding up on the second floor they peeked down and saw a figure in the black coat that was identical to the one who helped Salem when she attacked Atlas.
"It's that person." Blake glares when they notice the figure is holding Crescent Rose in their hands making Ruby gasp.
Walking over, the figure placed it down next to all their other weapons.
"We gotta get our weapons back," Oscar whispers.
"I bet my arm is down there too." Yang accuses.
"Let's go kick their butt and take them back," Nora growls.
"Hold on. We need to be stealthy first. A few of us should go down and get the weapons. Once we have that coat beaten then we can interrogate them." Emerald said.
"Sounds like a plan but who's going down?" Jaune asks.
As the figure in the black coat took out a black and silver Gummiphone, they dialed a number.
"Yeah, it's me. I found some more. Yeah, biggest group so far. They must be from that recent one." The figure said revealing they had a male voice.
Slowly making their way down we see Emerald, Blake, Nora, and Ren hiding behind the couches.
"No, they haven't woken up yet. I'll go check on them soon and report back when they're ready. I'll try contacting the others too," The figure said.
Peeking out from the corner, Blake could hear a few words.
"Good remember…darkness spreading…keep a close eye…" An elderly voice said.
"Understood." The figure said hanging up.
Walking over to the table he put Crescent Rose down with all the other weapons.
"Man, these guys have some pretty impressive gear. They must be pretty good in a fight." The figure said.
"You bet we are!" Turning around the figure saw Blake attack him.
Rolling out of the way, the figure looks up surprised.
"You're awake?" He gasps.
"You bet we are." Grabbing their designated weapons, Blake threw them back to Nora, Emerald, and Ren.
"And that's bad news for you." Nora glares.
"Listen there seems to be a little misunderstanding." The figure said holding his hands up defensively.
"How did we get here?" Emerald demands.
"I brought you here. I was ordered too." The figure answers.
"Ordered? So you're with Salem!" Nora accuses.
"Who?' The figure asks but Nora lunges at him swinging her hammer.
Jumping back Nora smashed the weapons table sending them all flying across the main room.
"Aw man I just got this place renovated." The figure groans as Ren open fired at him.
Rolling out of the way, the figure grabbed the first weapon they could which ended up being Yang's robot arm.
"Don't mess with me I'm…armed." The figure said noticing his weapon making Yang and Nora laugh.
"Nora." Ren glares at her.
"Seriously?" Oscar raises an eyebrow.
"Oh come on? He said he was armed and he's holding Yang's arm." Nora chuckles.
"It is kinda funny." Yang snickers.
"Give that back." Throwing her Gambol Shroud, Blake tries to get it back but the figure grabs Weiss' Myrtenaster in his other hand and knocks it away.
Lunging forward, Emerald swings her sickles but the figure blocks and dodges all her strikes.
"If you would just give me a second to explain—" The figure starts swinging the metal arm Emerald got slapped in the face making her stagger back.
"You can explain when we interrogate you!" Nora said swinging her hammer, but at the last second, he ducked under and swung the raiper knocking Nora off balance.
As Blake gets in close she kicks the arm out of his hand and delivers another strike forcing him back.
"I'll take this back." Blake grins holding the arm.
Groaning the figure looks around and picks up Jaune's sword.
"Alright, I guess I gotta make you listen to me." Standing up he spins both weapons in his hands taking a dual-wielding stance.
"That stance." Penny pauses. "This guy has experience."
As Emerald and Ren charge in, the figure swings both blades clashing with them at the same time.
Grunting the figure pushes Emerald back before attacking Ren forcing him to block.
Moving in, Emerald and Blake lock blades with him trapping him in place.
Roaring, Nora swings her hammer about to bring it down on him.
"Zero Graviga!" The figure yells and suddenly the 4 of them are stuck in midair and are floating helpless.
"What the?" Ruby gasps as the figure walks up to them and raises his weapons as if to strike but instead puts them down.
"There. The fight is over. Now I'll say this again. Will you let me talk?" The figure asks before looking to the staircase. "That goes for you guys too. You wanna come down so we can talk this out?"
As the spell wore off the 4 of them dropped down.
"So you're not our enemy?" Ren asks.
"No. Not yet at least." The figure said as the others slowly made their way down.
Taking her arm back, Yang reattached it while everyone grabbed their weapons.
"Listen we're sorry about all this. But you have to understand we've been dealing with a lot of things." Weiss starts.
"I could tell." The figure said.
"Listen let's start over. My name is Ruby and this is my team. Weiss, Yang, and Blake. We're Team RWBY." Ruby introduces.
"My name's Jaune and these are my teammates Ren and Nora. We're Team JNPR." Jaune said.
"I'm Oscar of no team," Oscar said.
"Emerald." Emerald waves.
"Salutations, my name is Penny. Now this is the part where you say your name." Penny gestures.
Reaching up, the figure pulled his hood back and to their surprise saw a teenage boy with spiky blonde hair and blue eyes.
"Roxas." He declares.
"Whoa," Weiss said not expecting this.
"So uh sorry about wrecking your table," Nora said.
"I'll get it fixed later. Anyway good to see you're all awake. I got a lot to explain and it might be best if you all sat down." Roxas said.
"As much as we want to Roxas we can't. Atlas is on the verge of falling and—" Gasping Ruby realized what she said. "Wait do you know what happened? Where's Salem and her army? Where are all the citizens?"
"I do know what happened." Roxas hints with dread in his voice.
Slowly all of them took a seat.
"Listen this is going to come as a shock and I've only helped one other group before you guys so I'm not used to this. And I really don't know how you'll react." Roxas said.
"Roxas, we've been through a lot trust me on this," Jaune said.
"We've heard a lot of bad news lately. I think we can handle whatever it is you have to say," Ruby said.
"Famous last words," Roxas mutters before taking a deep breath. "Remnant…is gone." Roxas declares.
Hearing this all the Huntsmen and Huntresses froze up in horror. Even though they had managed to save Penny, something far worse than they ever imagined had happened.
