It was cold and gray on Peridea as night was beginning to encroach. A pair of stormtroopers stood guard while Thrawn was inspecting carvings in a stone wall. He whispered into Dolya's ear, "I've surmised something about wrath and blood. These creators were both secretive and viscous."
"Would you mind if I looked a bit further down?" She questioned his deep red eyes.
His normally organized mind was shrouded with worry, but he indulged, "Just don't wander too far." Please.
Dolya ran her fingers along the cool stone as she walked. She lost track of how far she had gone. She was being pulled toward a carved circle surrounded by ellipses. It was calling to her for connection. She put her hand to the wall and closed her eyes. She felt swirling, tangled threads, searching. The tangle swelled. It was surrounding her, latching onto her. She was entranced until danger she felt something. Without severing this connection, she took off at a sprint back toward Thrawn.
As she got closer, she saw Thrawn on the ground. The escaped Jedi was standing over him, yelling, "Do you have any idea what the empire has done?"
"The Empire!?" Dolya screamed, pushing the Jedi off balance, her anger igniting the force around them. "Do you have any idea what the republic has done?" Her voice cracked with rage, "The Jedi?"
Ezra regained his balance and prepared for battle. Dolya knocked him back again and continued her tirade with tears welling up in her eyes, "I mourn for the lives that I take." Tears overflowed down her cheek, "I pray for them." She shoved him down each time he tried to move.
"But you," she continued, digging into his mind, "You celebrate your massacres." Anger, rage, hate, "You collect trophies. You. Disgusting." She slammed him into the ground, "Child."
The boy was injured both physically and emotionally. She stared at his motionless body on the ground, catching her breath.
She collapsed next to the father of her unborn child, tears fully streaming down her face. She could feel the troopers slipping away, but Thrawn was all that mattered in this moment. She hefted his chest into her arms, and cried as she repaired his broken body. Buried in Thrawn's arms, she didn't notice the Jedi crawl away or the blood of the troopers sinking into the soil, causing the stone to glow.
Thrawn and Dolya held each other silently until darkness had overtaken the landscape. She wiped her face with the back of her hand and severed her connection to the temple. They stood up and prepared to haul their deceased guard back to the ship.
Torvok was the first to meet them, still wearing the red leg band as a symbol of his unshakable faith. He reverently took the bodies of his comrades, the first martyrs of their cruel new life.
