Seventy-seven years separated the Battle of the Five Armies and the War of the Ring. Seventy-seven years in which the Dark Lord Sauron returned to his base in Mordor, in which the creature Gollum was caught and interrogated by Gandalf, and in which a most memorable Hobbit named Frodo Baggins was born. However, this is not their story. Bâhukhazâd bridge story.

Time passes much more quickly for Elves than for mortals, and sensing that his dear friend's life is approaching its end Legolas is reluctant to part from him. Even to attend a festival and see Gandalf's fireworks. (Chapter Three has been edited and fixed from the first posting because it cut off the last 8 or so lines. I don't know why.)

A year after his first encounter with Aragorn, Legolas persuades his father to let him invite the man to the Yule celebrations in Mirkwood. His cousins, Luana and Lamiel, are eager to meet the friend from the House of Elrond who has so quickly changed the prince's attitude towards the human race. But how will Aragorn feel amongst their people? Inspired by the Mellon Chronicles.

After Estel finds out about his destiny, Legolas' visit is rather unwelcome. Did his friend know and not tell him? Little one-shot I wrote up at 1 am. Friendship and light banter later. Hurt!Legolas because he always is honestly. No slash, gen. T for swearing.
