Chapter 38
Preparing for the final bout.
Naruto came home and tried not to think about what he had heard, because there was some truth in Gaara's words about not wanting to reveal himself to the youth. The only one he was sure of was Sasuke. I mean, if he was afraid, he'd say it directly or just stay away. But it was the way he treated Inami that was the most worrying.
Naruto's thoughts... I didn't tell Inami I was a jinchuriki just because I wanted to protect her? Or was he afraid of losing her? Xoo, all right, this is no time to wipe your snot all over me! Gotta go to practice tomorrow with a clear head.
The next morning when Minato was in his office, old man three came in to see him. After hearing the news from Shisui yesterday, he thought about it a lot and decided to ask directly. Minato himself, on the other hand, realized that such a conversation wouldn't be easy.
Hiruzen... Hello Minato!
Minato... Oh, three, good morning, have a seat.
Hiruzen walked leisurely through the office and after walking a few steps, he sat down at the chair across from Minato.
Hiruzen... Minato, I'll cut to the chase and get right to the point. I hear you want to help prepare Naruto for the finals of the third stage tournament?
Minato though he understood the risk of the conversation, but he still decided to stand his ground.
Minato... Yes, the third one, it's true!
Hiruzen twirled his pipe, exhaled a puff of smoke and paused.
Hiruzen... Minato, I understand that you want to right your wrongs towards your son. But still, do you realize the risk you're taking?
Minato was caught off guard by this question, for he had expected some different tone of conversation and even a rebuke from the old man. But after still thinking about the question, I decided to answer it.
Minato... Yes, the third one, I realize...
Hiruzen sighed in frustration and realized that there was no better teacher for Naruto than Minato at the moment.
Hiruzen... Okay, but how are you going to combine that with the Hokage's job?
Minato himself was almost at the top of his list and sighed deeply.
Minato's thoughts... No, asking a third person to do that, that would be too brazen. We'll have to hope for clones.
Minato... Shadow clones!
Hiruzen was very surprised by this response.
Hiruzen... Now you're acting like a real father, but still, the village won't survive if you lie down with a coma. After all, two weeks is a long time.
Minato sighed in frustration, but still decided not to back down from his decision.
Minato... I think I can take it!
Hiruzen took a drag on his pipe.
Hiruzen... Okay, to be therefore.
Minato was surprised at such an easy agreement and Hiruzen decided to dispel any questions.
Hiruzen. This agreement, in many ways, makes a lot of sense. Naruto's opponent is very strong and unlikely to be defeated without proper training. I heard Kakashi is training Sasuke, that asshole Jiraiya is gone. Shisui left on an urgent mission. The other jonin mentors have their own apprentices. Plus, it's a very big event and we can't help but help it along. I, in turn, will try to help you with things at the residence.
Minato listened to these arguments and agreed with much of it himself.
Minato... Thank you third self, you would have really handed me over!
Hiruzen... I'm only doing this for Naruto's sake, especially since I owe him a debt of gratitude for sitting with Konohamaru every chance I get...
Minato tempered his fervor and simply nodded.
Hiruzen. Okay, I'll be in my room.
Minato... All right!
Minato almost jumped for joy, for everything was working out just fine. Hiruzen, on the other hand, was thinking about the whole situation as he walked to his office.
Hiruzen's thoughts... Naruto, I hope you can achieve your goal..
That same morning, Naruto woke up and after doing all of his morning chores, began to get ready for training. Taking everything he needed, he left in the direction of the residence. On the way, everyone but the adults waved at him and wished him luck. To think that yesterday morning many of his peers looked down on him, and now they look up to him. Seeing those joyful faces, he even thought about Gaara's words.
Naruto's thoughts... I wonder if they knew who I was, would they look at me the same way? What the hell am I thinking?
Dispelling the unsolicited thoughts and then slapping himself in the face, he sped up and came running straight into Minato's office. Opening the door leisurely he bowed and stood in front of his desk.
Naruto... Good morning, Hokage-sama, you told me to come at 10am!
Minato seeing his son's slightly depressed look frowned a bit, but wasted no time.
Minato... Hey, Naruto, give me a minute.
Minato signed some papers and placed them on the edge of the table, stood next to his son and created a clone. Naruto smirked at such a contrivance.
Naruto... So that's what you meant when you said you'd think of something, dattebayo!
Minato himself was glad for such an undertaking.
Minato... You're not the only one with this technique! Okay, before we go, we need to stop by the store.
Naruto didn't like asking stupid questions, if you have to, then you should. He'll find out the reason for the unplanned purchases anyway.
Naruto... Yosh, the hokage herself, you're my mentor now, so you know best.
Minato even rejoiced inwardly that his son was more serious in situations like this. They were walking through the city and Minato noticed something strange about Naruto. He looked around a lot, which had not been observed before. He looked around and noticed that all of Naruto's peers were waving at him, he thought they were waving at him. But as soon as a few kids from the younger group approached him.
1... Good afternoon, Hokage-sama. Naruto san, can I have your autograph?
2... Me too!
Naruto... Uh, okay.
Naruto hesitated at the request, and taking a pencil hesitantly, he began to write his name on a piece of paper. When the painting was done, one of the kids asked a question.
3... Naruto san, you're Konohamaru's mentor, am I right?
Naruto... Yep.
3... Ooh, now I see why he's so strong. I wish I could be as cool as you, Naruto san!
Naruto couldn't respond to that in any way and just smirked stupidly rubbing the back of his head.
Naruto... Come on, kids, it's supposed to be your vacation. So have plenty of fun before studying dantebayo.
All the children were even glad of this advice and bowing low, they went off in another direction. Minato was glad for this turn of events.
Minato. Wow, you've got some fans!
Naruto faltered at such a remark.
Naruto... Uh, I guess.
They went further in the direction of the store. Minato was perplexed by his son's condition. It was unusual for him to see his son so unsure and even overly pensive.
Naruto... Hokage-sama, what do we need to buy?
Minato... Balloons, both inflatable and rubber.
Naruto rubbed the back of his head remembering where to fashionably buy one.
Naruto... Oh, I know a place where you can get cheaper datebayo! Especially since I get a discount on all my purchases there.
Minato... Oh, where is it?
Naruto... It's not far, let's go!
After walking a couple blocks they stopped on a deserted street and they came upon a one-story store called a gimmick store. Minato remembered this store and the product he'd been robbed of.
Minato's thoughts... Wow, so this is where he buys all his stuff. Well, son, how many requests have I gotten to close this store?
Naruto... Shall we go?
They walked into the store and saw fart pillows, glue masks, plastic poop, and a spider on the benches. Minato seeing this assortment mentally smirked. On the counter stood a man about 45 years old with shrunken black hair combed in different directions. And his mustache was curled upward. He was dressed like the average citizen of this village. White shirt, green vest and brown pants. Naruto walked over to the counter and waved his hands. And Minato stood behind looking at the salesman's bizarre appearance.
Naruto... Hello, Uncle Yataru!
Minato... Good afternoon!
The vendor smiled at the visitor in surprise and then bowed to the village head.
Yataru... Oh, Naruto-kun, Hokage-sama, good afternoon. By the way, Naruto-kun, congratulations on your victory, did you make it to the finals?
Naruto... You betcha!
Yataru... What did you decide to buy this time?
Naruto... Yeah, we need regular inflatable balloons and rubber balls.
Yataru... How much do you need?
Naruto looked questioningly at Minato and he immediately came to his senses.
Minato... We need 100 inflatables and 50 rubber ones.
Yataru glanced at the blond junior in surprise.
Yataru... Wow, so many, Naruto kun, is he up to another prank?
Naruto tutted his tongue at this point, letting him know he wasn't alone. Minato, on the other hand, was interested in such news.
Minato... Pranks?
Naruto began to flicker and nervously squeeze out words.
Naruto... No, Yataru san is just kidding dantebayo.
Minato looked reproachfully at the smaller man.
Minato... Yataru san, can you put together an order for now?
Yataru was mortified, as he rarely followed his words and out of shame, just retreated to the back room. While the salesman gathered the necessary funds, Minato stood in front of Naruto with a stern look.
Minato... Well, well, well, what other pranks? Don't you dare try to get out of this!
Naruto realized he'd hit a big one.
Naruto... Uh, Hokage herself, that was a long time ago! I've already stopped
Minato... How long ago?
Naruto... Well, at the academy!
Minato began to remember all the strange events that had happened during his son's schooling and he latched onto one moment.
Minato... So that ghost at the academy that's haunting all the students is your handiwork?
Naruto lowered his head in regret.
Naruto... Uh, well, how to say dantebayo.
Minato... Got it!
Minato though unhappy with such news, he still smirked at his son's rambunctious nature.
Naruto... I'm sorry!
Minato... Okay, well, it's been a while anyway.
Minato even smiled remembering the disheveled look of his parents coming to see him.
Minato... You know, some parents have even come to me asking me to dispel ghosts by sacrificing chickens.
Naruto whistled at such details.
Naruto... Poor chickens!
Minato... True, but I don't think there'll be any more jokers like you at the academy.
Naruto... Of course it won't, I hope...
Minato couldn't even hold back a chuckle at the pairing with his son and that's when the salesman gathered everything he needed. Toh Naruto pulled out a discount coupon and was about to pay. But he was stopped by Minato taking out the required amount and placing it on the counter. Before leaving, the salesman decided to ask something.
Yataru... By the way, Naruto kun, is your sassy brother Shisui in the village?
Naruto... No, he's gone on a mission.
Yataru sighed in relief, but then held his index finger up.
Yataru... Tell him he's on the buyer's blacklist! Naruto-kun, why is it that everyone you know is demanding that my store be closed? First Shisui, then Itachi, then your friend Sasuke. Even copy ninja Kakashi came to me with death threats?
Naruto twirled a finger at his chin.
Naruto... I don't know, they just don't know how to have fun, especially Kakashi sensei, he's a mopey dattebayo type in general!
Minato even jumped with laughter at the last sentence.
Yataru... It's okay, this store has been standing for 10 years and will be standing for just as long.
Naruto... All right, we're off to see you, Uncle Yataru!
Minato was glad he'd walked into this particular store and took his son by the shoulder who was holding the bags of balls he needed. They moved together to that range under the cliff where they had unsealed Naruto.
Naruto.. So, where do we start?
Minato pulled out an inflatable balloon and gave it to Naruto.
Minato... Fill some balloons with water.
Naruto wordlessly filled several balloons with water elemental help.
Minato... So, watch closely.
Minato took one water balloon and started to manipulate the chakra, at the same time Naruto put on a chakro pulse to figure out how to manipulate the chakra. The balloon in Minato's hand began to dangle in different directions and eventually it swelled up on all sides and exploded.
Minato... You got it?
Naruto lowered his hand and raised his surprised eyes.
Naruto... Yeah, why does it remind me of my Kaseri technique, except without the added wind?
Minato wordlessly began to form a rasengan in his hand and Naruto looked rapturously at the technique.
Naruto... Wow, this technique has a more powerful concentration than mine and you're spinning the spiral from different directions!
Minato. Yeah, look what's gonna happen to that boulder.
Minato walked up to the boulder and struck with his technique.
Minato... Rasengan!
The technique pierced through leaving an even hole in the boulder. Naruto walked over to the boulder that had been pierced and began to check the effects of the technique.
Minato... This is still the weakest concentration.
Naruto... Wow what power, and you spent some chakra to maintain and shape it! You're really cool, Hokage herself.
Minato listening to the praise was overjoyed, especially praise from his son.
Naruto... Hokage herself, did you come up with it yourself?
Minato... Uh-huh!
Naruto began to jump in front of him in delight.
Naruto... And you also used Raikiri Kakashi Sensei as a basis, it's very similar to the principle of datebayo.
Minato stuck out his chest and said proudly.
Minato... No, I came up with this technique three years before Raikiri was created. To be honest, Kakashi created his own technique based on mine.
Naruto scowled listening to this story.
Naruto... What a liar, Kakashi sensei!
Minato... А?
Naruto... I was told by Kakashi sensei that in the war he had no chakro metals left for drinking chakra lightning. Because of this, he infused his own concentrated chakra with lightning chakra. He also said that his sensei, i.e. you, liked his technique so much that you wanted to create something similar to dantebayo.
Minato was dumbfounded by such a story and inwardly boiled over.
Minato... Here, Kakashi, stay with me for a month and you'll be doing D rank tasks!
Naruto spread his hands.
Naruto... What's the point, he'll still have us to do his punishment and he'll be reading his book.
Minato... It's okay, I'll think of something!
Naruto began to run his fingers over it.
Naruto... Fun, fun, fun dattebayo!
Minato even gave a thumbs up to such enthusiasm.
Naruto... All right, let's not waste any time, let's get started. Kage bunshin no jutsu!
The 10 clones each took a water balloon and began to manipulate the chakra inside. Some had the balloon cut but not burst. An hour or two passed, Minato seeing the results began to ponder and after thinking it over, gave his verdict.
Minato... I take it you're so used to the Kaseri technique that you instinctively start doing it.
Naruto threw another ball, scattering the clones and sitting down on the nearest boulder.
Naruto... Hokage herself, because chakra is mostly formed from your perceptions. I can't concentrate properly, something prevents me from thinking properly!
Minato remembered Naruto's condition today and decided to inquire.
Minato... Naruto, I noticed you're being overly pensive today, maybe it's keeping you from concentrating?
Naruto... You're probably right, but I can't get those thoughts out of my head.
Minato... Thoughts?
Naruto... Yes!
Minato... Maybe you can share, maybe I can help in any way I can.
Naruto frowned remembering yesterday's encounter.
Naruto... Hokage-sama, is it true that Gaara is a one-tailed jinchuriki?
Minato flinched at such a question.
Minato... What makes you say that?
Naruto... He told me himself!
Minato was wary remembering his conversation with Rasa yesterday.
Minato... Naruto, can you tell me everything from beginning to end?
Naruto realized that talking it out would make it easier.
Naruto... Last night when I was coming back from the Sarutobi clan, he caught up with me on one of the streets. I decided to take it to one of the ranges for good measure. He was interested in why it was that so many people hated and feared me.
Minato wasn't in the mood for jokes now.
Minato... What happened next?
Naruto... I said who I was and he responded by saying who he was to his village. But what was most surprising was that it was his father who had sealed the demon in him. Hokage-sama, did you know about this datebayo?
Minato started to wince, but bit down on his neck.
Minato... Yes, I did.
Naruto sighed in frustration.
Naruto... Hokage-sama, why is this world so cruel that even newborn children are burdened with such a burden of datebayo?
Minato even fell into a stupor at that suggestion.
Minato... Naruto, do you hate me?
Naruto was surprised at such a question.
Naruto... Why would I do that?
Minato... I'm the Hokage, and as Hokage, I didn't stop you from becoming a jinchuriki.
Naruto looked at his feet.
Naruto... It was a different situation at the time. The Nine-Tails got out of control and started to ruin the village. I guess there was no way to seal it into a new medium then. And his power can only be held by the Uzumaki. Your wife was postpartum, and you couldn't have sealed in a daughter. It's just me, maybe some people were against this decision. But then the fox would have razed the village to the ground. I was just unlucky to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm not upset about my fate as a jinchuriki. What's the point of me getting all worked up and rehashing the past? What saves me sometimes is the thought that it could be worse. For example Gaara, the son of the Kazekage, but he is hated and feared by the entire village. And he considers himself just a weapon of the village. He's broken, and doesn't see himself in any way as a mere weapon. You know what I think about this whole dantebayo thing?
Minato was already clenching his fist behind his back as he listened to this confession.
Minato... What?
Naruto looked up and looked up with delight.
Naruto... I don't believe in fate, but for me, life is like a test. Everyone is given a test on life's journey. Some are born into a merchant's family, some into a peasant's family. Some are born into a family of rulers.
At this point, Naruto grinned.
Naruto... And some are born, by me, without a blood family and with the burden of a flea rug over their shoulders. They all have their own difficulties in life. I believe that everyone has to overcome these challenges on the way to their dreams. Sure, I could hate back and curse the world, but would that make me feel better? Hating me, the plight of an orphan, the role of a jinchuriki, that's my difficulty, I'm not going to bend to them by going along with my datebayo desires!
Minato listening to this bravado was both simultaneously proud of his son for his high moral principles, but also increasingly began to hate himself.
Minato's thoughts... Xoo, I'd rather be dead.
Minato hugged his son and squeezed his eyes shut.
Minato... I'm sorry, it's my fault you're hated, if I could get the residents to not attack you. Then you wouldn't have to suffer.
Naruto almost choked from his embrace.
Naruto... Hokage herself, you're going to break my ribs.
Minato pulled away from the younger blond and closed his eyes.
Minato... I'm sorry!
Nartuo rubbed his chest and stretched.
Naruto... I don't blame you, perhaps you were grieving over the death of your newborn son. But you've done me no wrong or good, so I can neither blame you nor thank you. And you don't have to take care of me. You've got your own family, they need you more, and I'll manage on my own.
At the last sentence, Minato bit his lip almost to the point of bleeding and sighed deeply.
Minato's thoughts... Be patient Minato, it's for your son, be patient!
Naruto... But I'm worried about something else.
Minato... Hmm?
Naruto... He said I was afraid to be honest with the rest of my friends.
Minato... What do you mean?
Naruto... I always thought I was only hiding my fate as a jinchuriki for their benefit. Yesterday, I offended Inami by not telling her who I was. Maybe Gaara's right, I'm really afraid that if they find out who I am. Then my friends who are the same age as me will start hating as adults?
Minato was stumped by this question.
Minato... I'm sorry, but I can't answer that question.
Naruto stood up from his seat and fluffed his hair.
Naruto... Okay, whatever it is, now is not the time to think about it! Kage bunshin no jutsu!
When the meadow was filled with clowns.
Naruto.. All right guys, back to practicing datebayo!
Naruto clone... Got a boss!
Naruto and his clones continued to try and break the water balloon. Meanwhile, Minato pondered everything he'd heard today.
Minato's thoughts... What became of me the night I decided to dump Naruto? Come on, get your shit together, your son's been through so much and you're whining about what happened. Let self-immolation be my punishment, but I'll endure it all for Naruto's sake. And if Naruto ever finds out about us, I'm ready to take all his wrath upon myself.
After this decision, he still watched as enthusiastically as ever as the original went around checking after the clones' results and how only one of them had succeeded.
Naruto... All right! Now we need to consolidate the result!
The clone dispersed, relaying the information to the others, and one by one they began to burst their balloons. Minato decided to take care of business as well and returned to the residence and updated the clone on his son's example. To absorb the information better and not to get information shock. It was nearing evening, the original along with the clones simultaneously burst the water balloon and began to disperse one by one. When the last clone dispelled, Naruto walked up to Minato with a water balloon and burst the balloon with one hand. Minato was surprised at the progress, after all, to pass the first stage in one day.
Minato... You're doing great, to achieve such results in one day!
Naruto gave a thumbs up enthusiastic smile.
Naruto... Hard work and the right challenge, works wonders!
After these words, he began to weaken and crouched down on a boulder.
Minato... I see you're tired, let's continue tomorrow.
Naruto... Okay, Hokage herself. Even though I respect hard work. Still, overzealousness leads to Maito Gai and to Lee!
Minato almost jumped at such a remark.
Minato... You think so?
Naruto... You bet! They've been practicing so long, even with their abilities, you could cut the training in half. They often get injured after training, which puts them in the hospital and they have to start their exercises all over again. Lussche to take a break so that the information is better absorbed in the brain, and strength in the muscles dattebayo.
Minato was once again surprised at his son's wisdom.
Minato... Well said, now we have to go back, you can leave the balloons here. This is a restricted area and no one will come in here.
Naruto... All right!
Naruto gathered his belongings and walked over to Minato as he motioned them back to the village.
Naruto... Thank you for the guidance hokage herself, see you tomorrow!
Minato... See you tomorrow.
When the door to his office closed, Minato sat down in his chair and the smile of joy never fell from his face. Minato was happy to be able to teach his son something. In the evening, Minato shared the details of his training with his wife after dinner, omitting some topics about the jinchuriki. The next day, Naruto was no longer so pensive, as after Minato had spoken, it was easier to bear the worry.
Naruto's thoughts. It's decided that when the time comes, I'll tell them all that I'm a jinchuriki.
Naruto decided to get more food and went into the residence to wait for the hokage. Minato left the clone in the office and moved to the firing range with Naruto.
Naruto... Hokage herself, what do we have for today?
Minato took the rubber ball in his hand and vibrating in place, the ball burst making a rumbling noise.
Minato... As you realized, yesterday's stage was rotation, today's stage is strength.
Naruto... Ah, so what you're saying is that I need to increase the force and speed of the rotation?
Minato... Exactly!
Naruto began to take notes to his notebook.
Naruto... For example, a rubber ball is more durable than a regular inflatable ball. I know the speed of rotation, and the force too, but this technique involves an explosion, which means you need a center where you can concentrate the force of the explosion. Hmm, oh, right!
Naruto began to draw a leaf symbol on his palm and then creating clones he got down to business. Minato just moved to the residence for now so he wouldn't waste time. Oh, and while Naruto's practicing, he'll have time to get some things done. Naruto's progress was going by leaps and bounds. Naruto had the widest experience in chakra spinning and increasing strength with speed. True the first ten attempts were in vain, but eventually one of the clones was able to blow up the balloon with one hand. Now divorced and passing on experience, the other clones began blowing up the rubber balls. By the end of the day, Minato decided to check the result. Arriving by the flight of the thunder god to the platform where the younger blond who sat and betrayed the onigiri was training.
Minato... Yo, Naruto, how's it going?
Naruto took the rubber ball in one hand and began to swirl the chakra inside and towards the end, the ball exploded with a rumbling sound.
Naruto.. How's that?
Minato was surprised at this progress and seeing the small one's cheerful appearance, decided not to delay the third step.
Minato... Wow, this is the second day and already making so much progress! I see you're not too tired, and you still have plenty of chakra left.
Naruto finished the onigiri and wiped his mouth and stood in front of Minato.
Naruto... You bet, it's just that I finished the second leg of my workout two hours ago. My Kaseri's principle of operation is pretty much the same. Yesterday it was harder to master the first stage, only because I had to add chakra rotations and change the disk, to a datebayo ball!
Minato... Ahhhh, that's how it is... Well, let's not waste time and I will tell you the principle of the third stage of this technique.
Minato inflated a regular inflatable balloon with air. And then made a made a razengan inside this ball and showed Naruto. And Naruto in turn simply scanned with his chakro pulse.
Naruto... Wow, the orb remains unharmed even with such a powerful chakra rotation going on inside!
Minato... Yes, the third stage combines the first two stages and adds a new one, retention!
Naruto... Like, is this some kind of concentrated chakra compression?
Minato... Exactly!
Naruto on his hand began to spin the chakra forming a disk and until the disk, did not destabilize, he began to squeeze and showed Minato.
Naruto... Would that principle work?
Minato... Yeah, it's fine, but it's gonna be harder to hold on to the razengan. Since it's more concentrated.
Naruto smirked looking at his technique and Minato's technique.
Naruto... It feels like my technique is a more simplified version of your rasengan dattebayo.
Minato himself was in agreement with that opinion and couldn't hold back a chuckle either.
Minato... Well, it's getting late, I think you can handle it tomorrow...
Naruto... Of course, I've already written down everything I need.
Minato... Good, pack your things and let's go to the village.
Naruto packed up his things and noticed that there were quite a few rubber balls left in the box.
Naruto... Hokage herself, you don't need rubber balls now, do you?
Minato... No, the second stage has already been passed.
Naruto put all the rubber balls back in the bag and stood in front of Minato rubbing the back of his head.
Naruto... Hokage herself, I'll probably go alone today, can you tell me the way out of this place dattebayo?
Minato was surprised at such a request.
Minato... Uh, I'm sorry, but there's no way out, the barrier won't let you through.
Naruto sighed in frustration.
Minato... Why do you need it?
Naruto... It's just, there's a shelter nearby, so I thought I'd give them these rubber balls.
Minato was overjoyed at this enthusiasm, but he was plagued by some doubts.
Minato... Why go there?
Naruto... This orphanage is not attached to a village and they rarely get a chance to treat themselves to toys. I don't have anywhere to put the balls anyway.
Minato mentally slapped himself on the forehead for forgetting such information.
Minato... All right, hold on tight, I'll get you out of here.
Minato touched his shoulder and moved to the exit of the range, they stood over the breakaway and Naruto faced the range he had been practicing on from the other side.
Naruto... Wow, that range looks even cooler than datebayo from the outside.
Minato smirked at that fact.
Minato... All right, let's go.
They started hopping through the woods and came to an open area where a one-story building stood, with a wooden fence. There were children playing in the courtyard and a mature woman with fair skin and light green hair tied in a bundle at the back of her head was looking after them. And the eyes were light brown. A woman came to the entrance of the fence and bowed low to greet the arrivals.
Katsumi... Good evening Hokage-sama, Naruto-kun.
Naruto... Hello, Aunt Katsumi.
Minato... Good evening!
Minato was surprised that the woman knew Naruto, but decided to hold off on asking for now.
Katsumi... So, what brings you here?
Naruto walked right up to her and showed her the package.
Naruto... We were just passing by, and these rubber balls were left over from training, so we thought we'd give them to you.
The woman was very glad of such a gift, but for the sake of propriety.
Katsumi... Ooh, you shouldn't have Naruto kun-
Naruto... Katsumi san, let the kids be happy, they don't have enough datebayo toys anyway.
Minato... Yeah, go ahead, feel free.
Katsumi, from that kind of pressure, just gave up.
Katsumi... Okay, thank you, hokage herself, Naruto-kun. I don't even know how to thank you.
Naruto and Minato started rubbing the back of their heads with silly grins, then brushed it off with words.
Naruto... No need, we should be going anyway...
Minato. Yeah, you shouldn't.
Katsumi bowed low.
Katsumi... Eh, too bad, but whatever, thank you again anyway.
She left with the bag in her hands, and Minato and Naruto watched her with a blissful smile.
Minato... I guess this isn't the first time you've come here?
Naruto... Yeah, I did.
Minato... Will you tell me about it sometime?
Naruto... No problem, but I thought you were in a hurry to get to work?
Minato... It's okay, I left it up to the secretary.
Naruto... Uh, okay.
They started walking down the forest path and Naruto began his story.
Naruto... Two years ago, in the spring, when we started spring break. The third one sent me to find some thief who stole a purse from a local official. I've already forgotten the name, but this bandit, although he didn't possess chakra, was still tough. This bandit I caught up with here, and he intended to take these kids hostage. True, I had envisioned this outcome and managed to replace the children with my clones under the henge of these children and the children themselves, Katsumi san took to the basement. Anyway, I disarmed this thief and turned him over to the local patrol. Thankfully no one was hurt, and everything ended as well as it could have. That's the whole story...
Minato listened to the story and was even happier to see how noble and kind his son had grown up to be.
Minato... Wow, you're good.
Naruto... No big deal, it was an easy mission.
Minato rubbed his son's head and Naruto decided to have a race jumping through the trees.
Naruto... Catch up with the Hokage on your own, but don't use ninjutsu.
Minato decided to support such a competition and jumped after.
Minato's thoughts... He's such a kid, but it's fun!
Minato decided to jump without exerting himself to give his son a head start. But just as the gates began to appear on the horizon, Minato lunged forward and landed at the gate. Naruto panted and stood in front of him all happy.
Naruto... Good job on the Dantebayo!
Minato... Yeah, well, shall we?
They walked through the streets towards the residence, but halfway through, Naruto waved his arms walking towards his apartment.
Naruto... I'll see you tomorrow, Hokage!
Minato looked at his son with a sigh of relief and moved to his office.
The next day, Naruto stood on the range and tried to squeeze the chakra inside the inflatable balloon with monstrous concentration. Each attempt was accompanied by an explosion and dispelling clones. The original got a burn on his hand and sat on his knees.
Naruto... Xooo, it's very difficult to squeeze such dense and concentrated dattebayo chakra with one hand!
Minato, who was sitting not far from him, turned away from the book and smiled kindly.
Minato... Naruto, you know as well as I do that things don't work out all at once. Although with your progress, I've been creating this technique for three years, and you were able to master two stages in just two days. I think you can master this thing, I believe in you.
Naruto looked at his right hand and then his left and almost jumped for joy.
Naruto... Right, I can't squeeze that chakra with one hand, but what if.
Minato even moved closer to see the idea.
Naruto began to form a swirling chakra in his right hand already without the inflatable balloon and while the chakra balloon increased in size. He powered up the chakra in his left hand and began to squeeze the orb.
Naruto... Come on, come on, squeeze, control, control!
The orb began to shrink and eventually a perfect rasengan was formed in his hand. Naruto wiped the sweat from his forehead and looked at Minato with joyful eyes waving his razengan through the air.
Naruto.. It's got dantebayo.
Minato was equally happy for his son.
Minato... Well done, now let's test your rasengan on that boulder behind you.
Naruto... There's the Hokage herself!
He spun me around on the spot and hit the boulder with a rasengan. The boulder had a perfect hole punched through it. Naruto seeing this result started jumping on the spot.
Naruto... Yay!
Minato walked over to him and patted him on the head.
Minato... Good for you, refresh yourself for now and then you can continue your workout.
Naruto... All right!
Naruto took two bento from his bag and held one up for Minato.
Naruto... Help yourself to the Hokage.
Minato waved his hands in the air.
Minato... Uh, I'm not hungry.
Naruto... Go ahead, feel free, I was making a dattebayo for the two of us anyway.
Minato sighed in annoyance, but deciding not to offend Naruto, sat down next to him and began crunching bento to pair with his son.
Naruto... By the way, hokage-sama, I've been meaning to ask for a long time.
Minato... Hmm?
Naruto... You were a jounin mentor like Kakashi sensei, right?
Minato... Uh-huh.
Naruto... Every dog already knows about Kakashi sensei, but what about the rest of his teammates. What were they like?
Minato was surprised by such a question.
Minato... Didn't Kakashi tell you?
Naruto... If only, he does not leave his book at all, and all our questions will either listen or pretend to be busy ... Xoo, Hokage-sama, was he really that careless as a child too? I understand that at that time there was a war and he got all sorts of unnecessary complexes...
Minato even smirked at such arguments, but lowered his head.
Minato... No, Kakashi wasn't like that. I understand you know what happened to Sakumo san. After his death, he shut himself away and started practicing not to make his mistakes. He graduated from the academy at 6, and after Sakumo san died, I took him under my wing. He on a mission always stuck to the rules and was meticulous about some things. And his punctuality was always top notch. He was a genius and the first to graduate from the academy at six years old, on account of that, he often tried to show who was in charge.
Naruto hearing about his sensei's past qualities even looked on in disbelief.
Naruto... It's hard to imagine that Kakashi sensei was exactly like that. Just like Sasuke before he became a genin.
Minato... A lot of people would say the same thing. But at that point, there was already a war going on. When Kakashi got a chunin at 9, I took two more genin and we formed a full team. One was from the Uchiha clan, named Obito. He was academically very backward and was even the laughingstock of the clan in a way. But what was most important about his qualities was that he was tenacious and never abandoned his friends in trouble. His worst habit was being late.
Naruto... Wow, how's Kakashi sensei?
Minato... That's right, he used to show up late to our team's rendezvous point. He often said he helped old people, which was true by the way. Kakashi, on the other hand, often got mad at him for being late. Obito was an open and kind person, though sometimes he couldn't contain himself.
Minato smirked looking at Naruto.
Minato. You know, character-wise and appearance-wise, he reminded me a lot of you.
Naruto only smiled at that.
Naruto... Wow, what about the third member of the team?
Minato... Her name was Rin Nohara, she was a civilian. In temperament, she was calm and kind, but still kept to herself.
Naruto... Heehee, that's a nice set you got there!
Minato couldn't hold back a chuckle.
Minato... When they were 9 years old each, I started training them to be combat ready for war, while doing C and D rank assignments. Kakashi and Obito fought almost every day, and Rin and I had to calm them down all the time.
Naruto... Hehehe, you had a hard time with them. Why couldn't they get along?
Minato... Kakashi is a genius and was the best at everything. And Obito as you realized was weak in the art of shinobi, something Kakashi often reminded him of. Obito couldn't stand to be bullied and often challenged Kakashi to a fight, he wanted Kakashi to recognize his strength.
Naruto... Well, times change but people don't, just like Lee and Neji.
Minato... Yeah, you're right, although Kakashi was afraid you and Sasuke would fight about it.
Naruto looked perplexed at the Hokage.
Naruto... Why would we want to do that? We'd rather help each other develop, and we'll always have time to test our strength. There are enough scumbags in the world for us to be more effective in dealing with them.
Minato almost cried at those words.
Minato... Eh, Kakashi was lucky to have his team.
Naruto lowered his head in annoyance.
Naruto... We had no luck with him, though!
Minato rubbed the back of his head with a silly grin.
Minato... Well, hopefully he'll quit his habit of being late someday.
Naruto... By the way, hokage-sama, I wanted to ask you something about this topic.
Minato... What is it?
Naruto... After all, the Third Shinobi World War came during Kakashi Sensei's generation?
Minato realized where this conversation was going.
Minato... Yeah, you're right.
Naruto... I had a third grandfather tell me that he at that time had no other choice but to send his children to war. I realize that there was a shortage of experienced shinobi and if Sakumo san hadn't saved his comrades, more children would have been sent away. But that's how you felt at that moment as you led your team into battle?
Minato thought about those words and remembered things he was trying to forget. Naruto was curious about Naruto's opinion on the matter. Minato even faded into reminiscence.
Minato... I felt constant anxiety for them. Afraid of losing them on one of the missions or in a simple massacre. I became very attached to them and tried to keep them from dying. But no matter what I did, I still couldn't keep them safe. On one of the missions, Obito sacrificed himself to save his comrades. And Rin died a few months later. Those two deaths, hurt both my heart and Kakashi's heart. I was able to bounce back from their deaths, but not Kakashi. He was surviving after their deaths, not living as he does now. I did everything I could to get him out of the darkness. But I still want to say thank you, Naruto.
Minato smiled and placed a hand on his son's shoulder. And the man glanced perplexedly at Minato.
Naruto... Uh, for what?
Minato... You and your team were able to banish the darkness from his heart.
Naruto brushed it off with the words.
Naruto... I myself didn't want to work with someone who had a bunch of cockroaches in his head and inferiority complexes.
Minato smirked at that answer, but noticed his son's pensive state.
Naruto... So that's how Takeshi sensei felt..
Naruto didn't even realize he'd said it out loud and bit his tongue sharply, but Minato remembered the name and was just about to search all over the file cabinet.
Minato... Takeshi sensei?
Naruto's thoughts... Xoo, I've got a tongue with no bones in it! All right, we'll go straight ahead.
Naruto... Uh, yeah, Takeshi sensei.
Minato... I guess you know a lot about this ninja thing, huh?
Naruto... Yeah, well, there's a little-
Minato... Will you tell me about him?
Naruto... Come on, that's not interesting...
Minato seeing the way Naruto's eye twitched and the silly knot on the pair rubbed the back of his head.
Minato's thoughts... Wow, that's interesting, because he and I are so much alike. Naruto wants to get away from the conversation with the same habits I do. I'm sorry, son, but it's important.
Minato... Isn't that Takeshi Uzumaki by any chance?
Naruto was shocked that the Hokage knew about him.
Naruto... How do you know?
Minato's thoughts... Bull's-eye!
Minato smirked with a sly look.
Minato... I heard the other day.
Naruto... Uh, from who?
Minato waved his index finger.
Minato... Oh, no, you're so clever, first you, then me!
Naruto lowered his head thinking about what to say.
Naruto's thoughts... So, Takeshi sensei was a traveler for the most part and was known in some countries, so you have to build off of that. Yeah, and it's a legend he made up himself in case there were any such questions in snow country. The benefit of the seal of silence will keep the village of snow from being blabbered about.
Naruto... Before going to the academy, my brother Shisui and I decided to make a trip to learn more about the world around us. On one of the coasts in the land of snow, we met him at one of the hotels. He was a traveler and didn't stay in one place for long. When he found out that I was also from the Uzumaki clan, he decided to help us on our journey as a sign of honor to his destroyed homeland. He was a very cool ninja and was even stronger than Kakashi sensei by half. He taught us a lot during our travels, how to make barrier seals, seal implements, by the way, he was the one who helped make those wristbands on my arms. He taught us so much that we started calling him sensei.
Minato seeing Naruto raving about him.
Minato's thoughts... Wow, twice as strong as Kakashi, and yes this man is the only sensei he speaks so well of.
Minato... Wow, you wouldn't happen to know where he is, would you?
Naruto lowered his head remembering those horrible seven days at Kazahana Castle.
Naruto... He's dead.
Minato was taken aback by this sudden drop in mood, and even lowered his voice so as not to push the child.
Minato... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-
Naruto looked up with a determined look.
Naruto... Nothing. How do you know him?
Minato breathed a sigh of relief and began to recount what he had learned from Rasa, omitting some of the moments of Gaara's attempted murder by his own father. Naruto listening to the story of how Takeshi had helped with Gaara's seal, began to rave about him.
Naruto... Oogo, Takeshi sensei is so cool dantebayo.
Minato... You betcha!
Naruto... So wait, you said Gaara was unstable?
Minato... Yes, unfortunately.
Naruto had everything in place now.
Naruto... So that's why Gaara thinks he's a weapon.
Minato tried his best not to broach the subject so as not to upset his son.
Minato... It goes like this...
Naruto... Xoo, I hope it works out at least this time.
Minato... А?
Naruto... I want to prove to him that we jinchuriki are not village weapons.
Minato was walking on a thin edge now, but still for the future he should ask this so that if anything, he could prevent some calamity.
Minato... I'm sure you can do it, but you said this time, there was another similar case?
Naruto sighed in frustration and began in a monotone.
Naruto... Hokage herself, remember our mission to the Land of Waves?
Minato himself was curious about this mission, but all he got was a dry report.
Minato. Yes, I remember you fought against Momochi Zabuza and Ice Style Haku!
Naruto... Kakashi then took on Zabuza, and we fought Haku. We defeated Haku, but I didn't want to kill him in any way. But what I heard, I couldn't believe my ears.
Minato, seeing his son's shocked state, decided to end the matter by letting him talk.
Minato... What exactly did you hear?
Naruto looked at Minato with yoyo eyes.
Naruto... Broken weapons are disposed of. I failed to become a good weapon of Zabuza san and now I need to be killed! Naruto kun, you better kill me, Zabuza san doesn't need someone like me.
Those words he hollered out with a shudder, and Minato was covered in goosebumps at those words.
Minato... What happened next?
Naruto looked down
Naruto... I was angry then and wanted to kill Zabuza, but my Kazeri got jumped by Haku, thus saving him.
Minato hearing such an outcome lowered his head.
Minato... It's horrible!
Naruto... No, that's not the worst part!
Minato... Hmm?
Naruto... The worst part is that Zabuza didn't consider it a weapon. But here was Haku not talking about it, continuing to use it. When I killed Haku, Zabuza was desperate because he didn't want to admit that he thought he was a loved one and not a weapon. If he'd admitted it when he was alive, they wouldn't be working for Gato. Zabuza followed Haku into the netherworld to beg for forgiveness.
Minato listening to this story found so many parallels.
Minato's thoughts... It's terrible, if Rasa doesn't find the strength to confess to her son, Gaara will suffer the same fate as Haku.
Naruto... Hokage herself, Gaara considers himself and me the weapons of the village, but I don't know how to dissuade him of that!
Minato put his hand on his son's shoulder.
Minato... Naruto, I believe you'll find a way.
Naruto smiled gratefully and got up from his seat.
Naruto... Thanks hokage-sama, but first I need to torture Gaara to bring her to her senses. And for that, you need to prepare yourself!
Minato... Right, let's keep practicing.
Naruto stood in the middle of the field and began to form a rasengan and then hit the boulders. The time was approaching evening and Minato approached his son.
Minato... How's that technique working out for you?
Naruto created a rasengan on his arm and began listing the features.
Naruto... It's not bad at all, it's not inferior to it in terms of power, it's even superior. And my arms don't wobble around.
Minato... Well, your equipment was bobbing around in different directions because of the wind element. Now this is pure chakra and it doesn't interact with anything. I would say that rasengan is just a base, with development it can grow into something more.
Naruto... Hmmm, have you tried adding stysium ingredients?
Minato... I've tried, but Rasengan is a high ranked technique in itself, so it'll be harder than Kazeri.
Naruto... Hmm, what if...
Naruto grabbed his wrist with his left hand, and Minato realizing his son's plan began to panic.
Minato... Naruto, wait...
He tried to stop but it was too late, a swirling wind chakra began to form in the palm of his hand under the razengan and simply pushed the razengan upwards at full speed. The Razengan smashed into the ceiling and began to shower debris onto the ground. Minato pulled Naruto away from the strike zone at full speed. When things settled down, they looked first at the ceiling and then at the ground. Naruto jumped in place with a joyous squeal.
Naruto.. Wow, Hokage-sama, I didn't know you could use rasengan at a distance!
Minato was of the same opinion himself, but still decided to start by taking him by the ear.
Minato... Naruto, before you do anything, you should consult with me!
Naruto began to jump in place.
Naruto...
Minato breathed a sigh of relief.
Minato... Actually, the rasengan wasn't designed for long distances.
Naruto... Wow, so I found a new way to apply this technique?
Minato... Hmm, that's how it works! Go ahead, try it on that boulder from a distance, but be careful.
Naruto... All right!
Naruto stood at a distance of 50 meters from the boulder and formed a rasengan on his hand and then pointing the rasengan towards the boulder grabbed his hand and channeling wind chakra into the rasengan the projectile flew straight at the boulder exploding on impact. When the dust settled they saw the shattered boulder and Naruto jumped for joy.
Naruto... Wow, that's a cool technique, even the kaseri I couldn't use at a distance as it needed a constant chakra boost.
Minato... Congratulations Naruto, what do you call this method?
Naruto twirled his finger at his temple and then began to dab at the air saying the name.
Naruto... A staggering unwelcomed rasengan, punching through everything in its path.
Minato liked the name, and even decided to add some of his own.
Minato... Good title, but how about, blast of storm, cannonball of rasengan dissecting through the air.
Naruto's eyes lit up as he listened to that title.
Naruto... Wow, hokage herself, you're on point! We should write that down too!
Minato was happy that at least someone wasn't criticizing the names of his techniques.
Minato... All right, time to go back!
Naruto... That's right, we need to rest up and build up our strength for tomorrow's datebayo training.
Naruto and Minato left the range and appeared outside the residence.
Minato... By the way, Naruto, I have tomorrow off, so come straight to my house at 10:00 as usual.
Naruto faltered at this point.
Naruto... Uh, Hokage-sama, where do you live?
Minato slapped his forehead at the awkwardness of the situation and wrote down his address on a piece of paper.
Minato... Here you go. See you tomorrow, Naruto.
Naruto... I'll see you tomorrow, Hokage!
Naruto took the sheet and ran in his direction. And Minato looking at his son's back smirked softly. When he got home, he thought a lot about what he had learned from Naruto. He was of course upset that Takeshi was no longer alive and it was best not to talk about him in front of his wife. As for the rest, he speculated at length.
The next morning, Kushina was cleaning the table after breakfast. And Minato was in the shower at the time. Minato warned me that Naruto was coming today. Kushina was ecstatic at this news and even gave Miroku an errand to the hospital, out of sin. Kushina noticed Naruto approaching through the window and decided to come out to greet him.
Kushina... Hey, Naruto-kun.
Naruto... Hello Kushina san, I've come to see the Hokage herself.
Kushina... Ah that's right, Minato told me you were coming, unfortunately he's a little busy right now, but come on in, don't be shy.
Naruto faltered at this point and began to babble.
Naruto... No, I'll wait for him here, it's not worth it.
Kushina wouldn't take no for an answer and just pushed him into her house.
Kushina... You don't have to be shy.
When Naruto was already home, he sighed in frustration and began to take off his shoes, leaving his backpack in the hallway. Kushina beckoned into the kitchen and sat her down at the table.
Kushina... Are you gonna eat?
Naruto waved his hands in a silly grin.
Naruto... No, thanks, I just ate.
Kushina's thoughts... Xoo, you're a shy little thing.
Kushina... Eat up, you're gonna need your strength for practice.
Naruto, seeing that there was no way he could get away with it, just nodded. And Kushina put a portion of rice with chicken and vegetables on her plate then placed it in front of Naruto with chopsticks. Naruto forcefully pushed the rice through his mouth so as not to offend his hostess. Kushina, on the other hand, poured tea and sat down across from her son.
Kushina... So, how's your training going, is Minato teaching you well?
Naruto... Great, I've already mastered one technique, and I've even come up with a new method.
Kushina... Oh, you mean the rasengan?
Naruto... Of course!
Kushina... Good for you,
Naruto... It's not only my merit, but also Minato sana dantebayo's!
Kushina... Wow, is he really teaching you that well?
Naruto... Of course, he explains everything clearly, and he is also good at coming up with names for new techniques.
Kushina shuddered at such news and through forcefully smiled.
Kushina... Yeah, and what technique did he come up with?
Naruto pulled out a notebook and started showing yesterday's sketches.
Naruto... I wouldn't say it's a technique, just a new method of using rasengan at a distance. I was going to call this method, the Stunning Unexpected Rasengan Shattering Blast. But here the hokage herself suggested the name, the blast of a storm of rasengan cannonballs scattering through the air. These are cool titles, except I don't know which one to choose, really there were other titles but they weren't as cool as these...
Naruto sat with a pensive face, but Kushina was quietly seething inside.
Kushina's thoughts. Minato's an asshole, you two can't be left alone. I can't imagine how Naruto could call his technique by the pithy name of Kazeri.
While she was thinking about how she would kill her husband, the aforementioned man came down the stairs in his uniform, but without his cloak.
Minato... Oh, Naruto, you're here,
Naruto... Good morning, Hokage-sama!
Naruto set his plate aside and stood up from his chair and bowed low to his hostess.
Naruto... Thanks for the food, Kushina san!
Kushina... You're welcome.
Minato. Well, we should get going.
The two blondes came out onto the porch and stood in front of Kushina.
Naruto... See you later, Kushina san!
Kushina handed over the basket of food with the words.
Kushina... Have a good workout, Naruto-kun.
Naruto.. Thank you!
Minato... Have a good weekend, sweetheart.
Kushina extended her hand for a shake and Minato had to return the shake, but immediately regretted it. Kushina squeezed with such force that Minato's fingers on his hands began to crunch and his skin reddened.
Kushina.. And good luck to you, my dear hubby. Be careful with creating techniques, especially with their names. What about there, blowing up a cannonball storm, etc...
Naruto spasmed and held his index finger up.
Naruto... A storm of rasengan cannonballs exploded, scattering through the air. Exactly, that's the coolest name, I think we can keep it...
Kushina gave the younger blond a stern look and let go of Minato's hand. Kushina... No, that name is too long, just call it a rasengan projectile or at the worst a flight of rasengan. But not the names you've given the technique.
Naruto... But that's not cool, and no one is going to be intimidated by those names.
Kushina... It's either that or nothing, young man.
At such a shout, Naruto shivered with fear and even stood behind Minato who was still blowing on his reddened hand.
Minato... Naruto, we gotta go!
The two of them disappeared in a yellow flash leaving a ravaged woman.
Kushina's thoughts. What's wrong with them, they say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...
When Minato and Naruto showed up at the range he breathed a sigh of relief. Naruto stuck out his chest with his nose proudly up.
Naruto... No one can understand our creative nature datebayo.
Minato wiggled his fingers and did the same.
Minato... Exactly, these are our techniques, whatever we want to call them!
Naruto put his things in their places and stood before Minato.
Naruto... What do we have today?
Minato twisted at his temple and thought for a bit.
Minato... You seem to know that technique already, so I think you should go straight to the training.
Naruto... Right, so, uh, let's see.
Naruto pulled out his notebook and began to think about a plan.
Naruto... What I know about Gaara, ninjutsu is top notch, genjutsu is incomprehensible, but he's weak in taijutsu. But his stovepipe defense will keep him out. But as I recall, his sand couldn't keep up with Lee and Sasuke's attacks. But even if I hit him, he still has a sand defense. And as for the chakra, he's outnumbered three to one. Xoo, we'll have to come up with something dantebayo! It's unlikely he's shown his full potential in past battles, and neither have I. So we both have the tebayo surprise effect.
Minato had often heard from Kakashi about the kind of tactical thinking and possession Naruto had.
Minato... Hmm, you're right, any ideas?
Naruto twiddled his fingers at his temple.
Naruto... Just questions for now.
Minato... What are they?
Naruto... His most important weapon is sand, he even carries a jug of sand behind him, I even felt that his sand is constantly infused with chakra even if there is no battle going on. That's probably why the absolute defense is always on. When he fought against Lee, there was no sand in the arena, but why didn't he use sand around the arena when he fought against Sasuke?
Minato became curious about this fact himself.
Minato... He's probably spending a lot of chakra to fuel the sand, and it's highly disadvantageous for him to use sand that he hasn't chakra-fueled.
Naruto... Hmm, that makes sense to the hokage herself. So I would need to cut off access to his own sand, which would be extremely difficult.
Naruto noticed the wet soil on the ground and taking it in his hands he began to weigh it. Minato was surprised at this manipulation and looked questioningly at Naruto, to whom an epiphany had come.
Naruto... That's right, wet sand is heavier than normal sand and he'll have a hard time controlling it.
Minato... Water element?
Naruto.. Exactly! But, he's still got a lot of chakra left, and he's not going to be stingy enough to use the sand around him against me. Okay, we'll have to figure out something about his chakra count. I mean, I need to spend more time on the old skills, there is still time, for now I'll leave the idea of water element actual datebayo!
Minato now realized what Kakashi meant and just enjoyed Naruto's analytical skills.
Minato... Well, I think I can help you with that!
Naruto... Thank you!
In the days that followed, Naruto practiced all the basic aspects of the shinobi arts, as well as the new techniques he had learned. Naruto didn't give up trying to add the wind elemental to the rasengan. To which Minato was adamantly opposed, as even he only had to add elemental chakra to the rasengan when in hermit mode. Seeing the shenyan eyes in Naruto's eyes, he just gave up cursing himself for being weak-willed. But Naruto was not very good at it, and Minato thought that he would give up his efforts, but remembering the character of his son, began to visit the range more often, to prevent trouble in case of this. And even made a promise that Naruto would only add the wind elemental to the rasengan when he was present. So on one of the training days, Minato returned from his residence to the training ground where a blond man was bouncing briskly in front of him.
Naruto... Hokage-sama, I've figured out a way to add wind to the rasengan datebayo!
Minato sighed in frustration and looked tired.
Minato... All right, show me.
And there was something to see, Naruto stood forming a rasengan, and next to him was his clone who was infusing wind chakra. Minato was even wary and ready to intervene at any moment. In the first few moments nothing happened, but after a few seconds, glimpses of the wind elemental began to be added to the Rasengan, covering the entire orb, and at the edges, bent blades of wind began to grow on both sides and swirl around the Rasengan. It was slightly larger than Kaseri and sounded like the sound of a propeller. Minato couldn't believe his eyes, it took even him a long time to add the lightning and wind element to the rasengan. Naruto bent his knees from the weight of the machinery, but was still pleased with his idea.
Minato's thoughts... Xoo, clones, how could I not have thought of using clones when I added elements to the rasengan?
Minato... Nice work Naruto, would you like to try it out?
Naruto... Of course dattebayo!
Naruto and his clone began to run towards the boulder holding a wind elemental rasengan in his hand. When the technique crashed into the boulder, the chakra began to rotate and increase three meters in the shape of a dome, and on the edges of the dome of chakra rotated two wheels of wind diagonally, and at the end of the dome simply exploded, dispersing a strong wind around the area. The result was stunning after such a technique on the ground was a huge crater with a radius of 7 meters. Naruto sat down on the ground thickly doused in sweat after this technique. Minato looking at the destruction was just shocked at such a technique and then walked over to his son giving him a bottle of water.
Minato... It's unbelievable how your persistence has paid off.
Naruto sipped his water and smiled showing a thumbs up.
Naruto... I wish I had a dantebayo!
Minato. Okay, this technique is already a different level, so what do you call it?
Naruto started rubbing his chin and then came an epiphany and raised his index finger up.
Naruto... Wind element, death mill, raging hurricane super ultra rasengan!
Minato slapped his palm and smiled.
Minato... Great title, I think I'll even put that title in the techniques!
Naruto... I'll write it down too!
They bumped fists and sat down to eat. With three more days to go before the final stage began, Naruto prepared as best he could. At this time, Jiraiya returned from his adventures and came straight to the residence.
Jiraiya.. Yo, Minato, what's up?
Minato turned away from his reports and looked at his sensei with happy eyes.
Minato... Oh, sensei, good, I see you just got back?
Jiraiya... Yeah, by the way, I heard you're helping Naruto with his training?
Minato... Sure, and even taught him rasengan in just three days!
Jiraiya was shocked at such news.
Jiraiya... Wow, at that age and in three days? Not bad...
Minato... That's still nothing, he also added his wind chakra to the rasengan!
Minato voiced every word with delight and even Sanin got a kick out of it.
Jiraiya... Wow, I'd love to see that!
Minato... No problem, I was just on my way to see him.
Leaving the clone Minato moved with Sanin to the training ground where Naruto was practicing taijutsu with the clown. Naruto noticing the chakra of the arrivals looked back at them.
Naruto... The Hokage herself, Erosanin?
Jiraiya was already used to that nickname and just waved it off.
Jiraiya... Hey Naruto, I see your training is going well?
Naruto... Of course dattebayo!
Minato... Naruto, can you show me that technique you showed me yesterday?
Naruto... All right!
Jiraiya and Minato stood to the side watching Naruto form a rasengan with the addition of the wind elemental.
Jiraiya... Is he using a clone for this technique?
Minato... Yes, he said he split the task into two parts, one forms the rasengan and the other adds the wind elemental.
Jiraiya wasn't surprised by the inventor of the almost younger blond.
Naruto... Okay, it's done!
Jiraiya saw a rasengan with blades on the edges and marveled.
Jiraiya... Wow! That's quite a piece of machinery! I wonder what kind of power he has!
Minato... Naruto everyone, you can dispel the technique!
When the technique disappeared from Naruto's hand, Minato led Jiraiya to the place where the technique had been used. Jiraiya seeing the large curator on the ground just staggered in surprise.
Jiraiya... Wow, that's a lot of power to master such a technique and improve at such an age!
Minato... Yes, you know the principles of his training...
Jiraiya... Clones clones clones clones clones and more clones...
Minato... Yes.
Naruto... And anyway, erosanin, you're always talking in riddles and it's hard for me to master anything when you're coaching me!
Jiraiya stepped I from such an accusation.
Jiraiya... That's my teaching principle, dummy, okay, what do you call the technique?
Naruto started waving through the air enthusiastically squeezing out the words.
Naruto... Wind element, death mill, raging hurricane super ultra rasengan!
Jirai got a nervous tic from that name and looked at Minato.
Jiraiya... What's with the idiotic and long title, are you up to your Minato again?
Naruto boiled at this suggestion and began waving his fists in the air.
Naruto... Hey erosanin, it's not idiotic at all and in fact I gave this technique such a super duper name datebayo!
Jiraiya fell over on the spot at such news.
Jiraiya's thoughts... Do these two have hereditary stupid habits?
Sanin stood up shaken off and waved his index finger through the air.
Jiraiya... No, it's a long title. This technique resembles a shuriken, so call rasengan shuriken or rasensuriken for short. But not the lousy thing you just said to me!
Naruto folded his hands in a lock and turned away with his head back.
Naruto... No, it's my technique, I call it what I want!
Minato... Yeah, Jiraiya sensei, that's not a bad name.
Jiraiya lowered his head in annoyance, then slapped both the older and younger blond.
Jiraiya... Rassensuriken, period!
The blondes stepped a look and an aggrieved look.
Naruto... Xoo, it'll ruin the fun of the dattebayo!
Minato... What can I do now, because of you Sensei, I've lost a lot of good titles!
Jiraiya... Both of you! Okay, it's getting late, I think it's time to head back.
Minato... You're right, Naruto, let's go!
A few minutes later they were standing outside the residence.
Minato... Naruto, I think you've done your homework. With only three days left, I'll need to focus more on the event.
Naruto... That's okay, I've got everything I need ready to go, just the little things. Yeah and I haven't seen the guys, I guess I'll have to visit them before finals start.
Minato... Okay, good luck!
Naruto... Thanks, alright, well I gotta go, see you Hokage herself, Erosanin!
Minato looked after his son and frowned a little with longing, it didn't go away from Sanin either.
Jiraiya... You're upset because you can't train Naruto anymore?
Minato... You can't hide anything, Jiraiya sensei!
Jiraiya patted his student on the shoulder.
Jiraiya... Well, it'll happen.
Minato... Okay, we need to get the seats ready and meet the guests!
