I've gotten back into writing fanfics! Of course, about my favorite ship~ I wanted to write a cute romance for these two, I hope you enjoy it!

After almost a year of fighting, the Black Organization has been taken down. A couple of months of surveillance and investigation has finally put the shrunken detective and scientist in the clear.

They were now safe to return to the world as they once were.

However, that's easier said than done.

Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys are entering the 2nd grade.

Ran and Sonoko are entering their final year of high school. Much to her dismay, Ran was not able to celebrate with her boyfriend, Kudo Shinichi.

"How long do you think it'll take?!" Conan desperately asked. "Now that you have the data, you can whip up the antidote and turn me back to Kudo Shinichi for good, right?"

"Baka, it's not that simple." Haibara sighed.

The two were sitting in Agasa's house.

"This is a dangerous pill. I need to do extensive testing and research. You are correct that since I have more data, a permanent antidote should be developed a lot faster..."

Haibara looked at her shrunken partner. "But it will still take some time."

"Ahh! I want to be a high school student! At this rate, Ran and the others are going to graduate without me." He pouted

"So? Are you going to tell her the truth?" Haibara inquired.

"Eh? You think it's ok?"

"Well, the only reason we couldn't say anything was to avoid outsiders getting hurt." She explained as she flipped through her fashion magazine.

"Now that the organization is gone, it's up to you. Either let her know that you are in this shrunken state until an antidote is made or appear to her once you know you can finally join her as her knight in shining armor."

"I think… I think I'm ready to tell her. She's waited for Kudo Shinichi long enough." Conan looked up. "Well, I think I'll tell only her. It would be hard to convince EVERYONE before there's an antidote to return us back to our forms anyway."

"Speaking of which, Haibara…" Conan turned to her.

"How do you think Tooru Amuro will react? Knowing you are still alive?"

"Oh, him? Will we even cross paths again? I thought he quit working at Café Poirot since his undercover mission ended."

"That's true, but…" Conan was deep in thought.

"I've been curious about why he was so adamant about keeping you alive. To him, your death was accidental, after all. Are you sure you've never met him?"

"I haven't. He was probably just trying to avoid anything messy. He's still a police officer after all." Haibara explained.

"I suppose…"

"Speaking of which, something else is a little strange!" Haibara glared at Conan. "That Subaru person has been poking around less since the organization dismantled. He's not some undercover agent like Amuro-san, is he?"

"Wh-what! That's silly. What are the odds of that happening? Hahaha…" Conan nervously chuckled. "He's just busy with school. Being an engineer is pretty hard, you know?

"I guess so… How long will he be staying at your home, anyway?"

"Oh, I figured I'll let him live there until I get my body back. It's not like I can stay there by myself as a kid."

Conan thought back to his conversation with Subaru…

A FEW DAYS EARLIER

"You want to stay here?" Conan asked.

"Mm, just for a little" Subaru replied. "The Bureau is giving me an extended vacation since the organization has been taken care of. It's about time I introduced myself properly, not as Okiya Subaru, Rye, or Moroboshi Dai."

He looked out the window facing his neighbor's home.

"Ah, but please don't tell her about me. I'd like to do it on my terms."

"Umm, yeah, sure." Conan nodded

"Are you listening?" Haibara waved at Conan

"Huh?

"I said, do you think your girlfriend would be okay with you staying there once she knows who you really are?"

"Eh, you think she would kick me out?" Conan started to get nervous.

"Probably not, but it would make the living arrangement pretty awkward, wouldn't it?" Haibara pat Conan's shoulder.

"Don't worry, whatever happens, only one truth prevails~" Haibara smirked. "Right?"

"R-right..."

Rei laid in his bed, staring up at the ceiling.

'It's all over now… I'm back to being Furuya Rei.'

He grabbed a bundle of his sheets.

'No! It's hardly over. I have yet to confront you properly. Last time we spoke, we were interrupted by the Kudos.' Rei thought about his hated rival.

'I'm sure it was him that threw the grenade on the Bell Tree Express…'

"Hmph! He killed her, just like he killed Scotch!" He angrily exclaimed before letting out a big sigh, burying himself in pillows.

'I let you down, Elena-san… but now, I'll finally tie up loose ends'

Rei leaped out of bed.

'Tonight's the night! It's about time I gave you a proper visit, eh, Okiya Subaru? No…'

'Akai Shuichi!'

"Alright, tonight's the night!" Conan said, pacing back and forth. "I'm going to let her know everything!" He grabbed his skateboard and began to walk outside. "Ran won't be home until later. I'll go on a ride to calm my nerves."

"Good luck, Kudo-kun." Haibara waved.

"Thanks, bye Haibara!" The young detective said as he rode away.

She looked around at the spring flowers beginning to bloom and felt the sun shining on her skin.

Haibara closed her eyes for a moment, taking in the fresh air.

She turned back into her cold room, shrouded by the dark, with only the computer providing a light source. 'I better finish this as soon as I can.' She thought as she tapped away at the keys.

'Soon I can finally properly repay myself to you, and you can return to your special someone…' Haibara smiled sorrowfully as she continued to work.

'I wonder what will become of myself after my purpose is finally completed?'

TAP TAP TAP…

HOURS LATER…

Haibara rubbed her eyes, exhausted from looking at her screen for so long.

'I'll take a short walk before continuing.' She thought as she got out of her chair. 'There's no point in staring at the screen waiting for something to happen.'

Haibara put on her jacket and stepped outside. She hadn't realized how late it had gotten, with the open moonlight and the stars sparkling above contrasting the dark, narrow street.

As she began to go her usual route, she bumped into something.

'Huh?' Haibara thought, trying to make out the figure before her in the night. 'I don't think this is Subaru-san… but we're in front of his home.'

Rei turned on his phone to shine a light on the small body that brushed against him before he could ring the bell.

Soon, the two's eyes went from a cautious squinting to a widened realization.

The two just stared at each other for a little bit, with Rei kneeling closer and closer.

"Hell's Angel…." He mumbled softly, but loud enough to make Haibara's heart race.

"I…I…." She had no idea how to react.

'Heh.' Rei thought to himself 'Akai Shuichi can wait...'

His hand reached for the flinching young girl.

"Eh?" Haibara felt his hand gently rubbing her head.

'I found something far more interesting.' Amuro thought.

For a split second, the small genius could have sworn that she saw a sweet smile on his face. Sweet enough to make her blush.

But that couldn't be true, right?

Yay, the first chapter is up!

I really love this pairing because of the potential it has with their connected past and their personalities, I think they would go well together in the canon story.

Only time will tell I guess. Sigh...

I titled the fic Spring Will Come Again because spring is a season representing new beginnings, and these characters are starting a new chapter in their lives... together?! hehehe

Anyways, please let me know what you think! Thanks for reading! :D
