Night Flower
Written: 6/27/2022
Hi again, it's me, and this is another chapter of Night Flower. Here, we will see Munfurawa getting accustomed to his environment, and the drama around him. I have this sense of the fact that despite his claim that he is not interested in drama, the new environment he is in, makes him interpret drama here differently. We will have some more interactions with the OC and the COTE characters. Again I have an idea with Munfurawa now, however I cannot guarantee anything. If you all want to review your idea for what to do with the story, please let me know, I am open to new ideas.
Also, more OC characters will be included, but they will probably play small roles, mainly for a martial arts club, perhaps? I might just use very minor characters in the COTE light novel.
Munfurawa in Japanese means Moon/Night Flower, hence the name of this story.
Chapter 2: Mismatched Eyes Observer
Third Person POV:
Approaching the office, he was greeted with a figure. He had already written the required tests, and compared to the tests he had done beforehand, they were what he expected. However, it was also the type of test in terms of difficulty that was too easy.
Starting in junior high school, he was able to manipulate his own marks just out of his boredom. In junior high school, he had allowed himself to write the correct answers so that he could get in a school that he would see no one previously in.
So far, that worked, as he didn't recognize anyone. Not that he did not expect those from this junior high to move to metropolis Japan like he did. However, now, since he made it, he quickly realized he had to keep his scores underwhelming or mediocre, to not attract attention.
He scribbled lazily in his tests once he got to the academy, and purposely wrote the wrong answers for the easy questions, while achieving full marks on the hard questions.
By the time he got his marks back, he was given around 60s in each course, with a variation of plus or minus three. The highest was mathematics and chemistry at 63, whilst English and modern grammar were 57. If he tried, he could regularly get 100s in his previous tests, and that was the case now, nothing changed it seems.
"Greetings, my name is Tsukishiro, the director of Advanced Nurturing High School. You must be the new student here right?" Tsukishiro asked, to which Munfurawa merely nodded in response, something he noticed.
"Not much of a talker, huh?"
The boy shook his head, "Not really, but I'm not mute or anything."
The director smiled, before continuing, "So you are two weeks late because you were traveling here from an island?"
Munfurawa nodded, "Yes I was born and raised South of Japan, I moved for reasons to this school for my education."
Tsukishiro smiled at the boy in front of him, "So it says that your academic skills are very potent in your previous schools. Consistently ranking among the top in your junior high."
"I'm just a quick learner who studies." Munfurawa merely mentioned, to which Tsukishiro nodded, though looked at his sheet, sighing.
"It's a shame you did poorly on your entrance assessments, considering the previous record you held. It isn't just your academic and intellectual abilities that were underwhelming for us." Tsukishiro explained, which confused Munfurawa.
"And what do you mean?" Munfurawa asked, pretending to be surprised.
"Let me give you your assessment rankings" Tsukishiro stated, handing Munfurawa his paper.
Reading it, he saw his ranking:
Academic Ability: C+ (Can get very consistent grades, usually within the mid-range of grade schemes)
Intellect: B- (Agile in his learning skills, and can adapt to the change in environment, but lacks execution)
Judging Ability: C- (Is very critical of multiple factors, making sometimes efficient decisions with consequences)
Physical Ability: B- (Is above average in endurance and speed, however, does not excel in weight lifting, very skilled in martial arts)
Cooperativeness: F (Rarely talks to anyone, ignoring or putting off others. Almost borderline).
"Huh." Was all Munfurawa thought, "If I actually had tried, I could've gotten an A or A+ on all of these, except probably cooperation. That was the only area where I know whether I tried or not, I would've failed…"
This was what Munfurawa expected in all honesty. He never really tried in his assessments at all, so that he could no longer catch any attention. It didn't matter, he would just get through and remain invisible.
"Your previous academic skills were honestly on par with that of Class A, but now you're barely passing, and your inability to cooperate with others brings you down significantly…" Tsukishiro stated, which confused Munfurawa.
"Wouldn't you just look at the average for everything?" He asked, to which Tsukishiro shook his head.
"Unfortunately, no, we look at individual marks and collective. The skill gap is logarithmic. In order to be in class A, you cannot fall below an A rank, corresponding to each letter. Since you cooperativeness is an appalling F, you will be going into the least gifted class, Class 1D." Tsukishiro explained, which made very little sense to Munfurawa.
He knew his social life was bad, but did this really make a big deal in bringing him to the possible worse of the worst?
Munfurawa sighed, "Whatever, can I have my digital phone."
Tsukishiro nodded, "Of course, here you go, you can see your class gains 100,000 private points every month, you can use this to buy essentials. There are poor-quality stuff you can get for free, but this is meant to encourage proper money spending habits."
Munfurawa looked at his phone, seeing that he actually has 100,000 "I see…" Was all he said before he turned to leave. It did confuse him, how could the school give every student 100,000 private points monthly? It seemed to good to be true. There was no way the school was that generous.
"I will inform Sae Chabashira of your position into Class 1-D, enjoy your time at Advanced Nurturing High School." Tsukishiro called out, but Munfurawa never responded.
Instead he asked, "Is there a room I can practice martial arts in?"
Tsukishiro blinked before nodding, having a weird smile that Munfurawa noticed quickly, "Yes, there's actually a sports club for it, well, it's general martial arts, rather than a specific brand, but other students usually come in for practice. No one really goes and the club isn't official. You can still use the material, just don't expect people to come every day."
"Perfect." Was all Munfurawa said before he finally walked out, heading to the room. It was close to his own room. Avoiding the other girls, he made his way inside the room, and plopped his bag down.
Putting on his taekwondo uniform, he began his workout, finding himself smiling at the feeling he had missed for so long.
He started with jump roping as a warmup, before proceeding with his techniques, focusing on polishing it. He couldn't spar anyone, so he focused on perfecting his kicks on the punching bag. Despite shoeless, he struck the bag with tremendous force, his legs almost snap-like, whilst he felt nothing from the impact.
Unbeknownst to him, Tsukishiro was hearing the punching bag being struck, and smiled, knowing very well what the new transfer student was doing.
"So maybe this boy isn't just a disappointment after all…"
While Munfurawa was kicking and polishing his techniques, he did ponder about the whole point system. It seemed very unusual to give every student that much. There had to be a catch that he wasn't told…
Eventually, after just over an hour, he had cleaned himself out, changed back into normal long sleeve clothing, and begun to head back to his room.
Unfortunately, when he exited the room, he spotted a girl walking by. The girl was the long-haired black girl whom he saw with the beige haired girl. She always looked pissed from what he could tell. Ignoring the stare of confusion from the girl, he carried his bag, and went inside his room, studying the material he had missed. Finishing the work in around 2 hours, he got a quick dinner, cooking for a bit, before he called it a day and went to rest.
The next day would be hectic, as it would be his first day in class. At least he managed to catch up on the work material he had missed for two weeks. He understood it well too, if he was given a test, he felt like he could answer every question to an extent. But even with that preparedness in him, he still felt like he wouldn't do well.
Regardless, he left the thought out of his mind, and focused on getting through the stress of being a new kid in a new school, tomorrow.
Catching some sleep, he felt somewhat anxious at the feeling of eyes staring at him.
One of the things he loved, after his prior experiences with school and social gatherings, all he wanted was to remain invisible. To be blind in the public eye. If he was to be introduced in front of a bunch of people, he was sure to be seen.
Especially with his mismatched eyes, he was in for some questioning.
Munfurawa had a very simple idea, and that was to attend class early, to the point where no student would be there.
Considering the class he was assigned was the lowest ranking class, this would be very easy, as he assumed most if not all of the students of this class would either be barely on time, or late as usual.
Munfurawa sighed, as he went to sleep. He knew how he would go on his day tomorrow.
When he woke up, he sighed in relief that he had enough time to eat, and clean up.
Looking at the school uniform he was required to wear, he noticed that the others wore a similar school uniform. However, he didn't really like the long sleeve and how it felt. It was poor insulation against the cold too.
As a result, he decided to leave the white shirt one, while wrapping the long red sleeve wrapped loosely around his waist. He did not care if people saw him being different or laughed at him. He had been through worse tormenting and pain that he could handle it just fine. Just like how he had handled that delinquent early on.
Stepping out of his room, he was glad no one noticed, as he walked along towards the classroom 1-D. with his mismatched coloured eyes, he was able to find the sign that indicated which class was which.
Walking in, he realized the door was locked. Cursing slightly, he merely waited until the teacher showed up, or when someone unlocked the door.
Around ten minutes later, a young woman with a noticeable pony tail and a serious expression approached the door, unlocking it.
It seemed that the individual then realized the individual waiting for the door to be opened, as he shortly entered in behind her.
"Who are you?" The pony-tailed woman asked. Judging by her expression and figure, she was too old to be a high school student, so probably the homeroom teacher.
Setting down his stuff at the corner closest to the door, he sat down. "The transfer student." Was all Munfurawa replied, at last, which got the teacher's attention.
"I see, I am Sae Chabashira, your homeroom teacher." Chabashira explained briefly to the new student, said student nodding to everything, not really answering, aside from a few questions.
"So what are these private points? Based on everything I've seen while exploring, they act as a form of currency, right Chabashira-san?" Munfurawa asked. The use of honorifics onto her surprising her.
"Yes, that's exactly right. Depending on how the class performs monthly, it will impact the amount of private points given to each student every month." Chabashira explained, which Munfurawa caught.
"So that's the catch, thanks for unintentionally blurting it out to me on the first day, Chabashira." Munfurawa thanked.
"So is there a cap to the amount you can save?" Munfurawa asked.
"I believe there can be a cap depending on your class, however I would recommend spending your private points, so that you gain the most from the monthly gain." Chabashira insisted and further explained, which only confused Munfurawa more.
"Why is she trying to coerce me into spending my private points like that? It's clear something is going on…" Munfurawa pondered, before looking at her.
"So, we do well on tests and stuff to survive and buy things, but there are some free stuff, probably on terrible quality compared to more expensive commodities, I understand." Munfurawa stated at last, before he pulled out some paper.
"What are these?" Chabashira asked, before she got an idea judging by the handwriting on the paper.
"Since I was two weeks late, I missed on some the academic material for this class. Thus, these papers contain the assessments to make up for the missed assessments." Munfurawa explained, handing his homeroom teacher the paper he had worked on while he was moving.
The teacher in question looked at the work and was surprised to find that the answers were written with perfect half precision, bordering 55 and even 50 in marks. What was another student with this precision-based of an answer to questions doing in this class?
Sighing, looking at the boy, she made her way to her desk, looking for any information on the new transfer student.
It wasn't until looking at his academic performance did, she find out what brought him to this class.
"It says here he is a middle of the round student… But his cooperativeness is an F… I don't think I've ever seen an F on a quality in my experience of teaching here… This person must be on a whole new deal in terms of social abilities…"
Chabashira looked at the new student in intrigue, noticing that some of the typical students within her class were now entering the classroom, not even paying attention to the fact that they had a new student attending their class.
Chabashira wasn't able to observe the new student ignoring his surroundings entirely, as she had to quickly mark the work he had completed in the two weeks of missing assessments he had done. To her surprise, he scored incredibly average. Even in the test, which she made harder because of his tardiness, he scored a 60% on that test. That alone was intriguing her. Quite a lot, but considering he had missed the classes entirely, and was probably busy moving, it was impressive.
The main intrigue she has of him, however, is similar to another in her class: Ayanokouji. The two seemed relatively similar, at least in their assessment. Both seem to be hiding their true potential.
While they both got average marks, their abilities to constantly get precise marks in their assessments proved to her that they were holding back. Munfurawa got 60 averages, with a perfect distribution that was rarely seen in students. She also heard from the director that he was incredibly experienced in martial arts, so why didn't he score higher than a B- in physical abilities.
Then there was his cooperativeness. For the first time in her entire career, a student had gotten an F rating. The lowest she saw were E-, but this must be the first time, in history, she thinks, that a student has gotten an F on something. And the worst part is, she didn't know if he was deceiving it, or actually telling the truth.
"His potential in academic, intellectual, and physical abilities are indeed potent, however he's just hiding it, and that's the biggest defect of them all…" Chabashira thought as she finished, noticing she only had a couple minutes before classes started.
Much to her chagrin, while every student in her class was talking to some class, even Horikita was reluctantly talking to Ayanokouji, Munfurawa was not talking at all. Instead, he was listening to music, his study books opened as he was looking through the contents.
He clearly was an interesting student to the teacher. To her, while he had the qualities in academic and intellectual abilities to rival even those from Class A, it was a shame his lack of communication brought him all the way down.
However, that was how the system worked, and sadly if he wanted to have a higher rank, his social skills should've been better.
Realizing she was two minutes late, she started her class, purposely avoiding mentioning the fact that they had a new transfer student.
While she was talking, Munfurawa was multitasking. Using his vision to focus on writing on his paper, assessments he was catching up on, and ones that were due, having upcoming dates. All the while he was listening to the teacher and feeling his surrounding to understand the environment.
True to his suspicion, while some students took their academic might seriously, some were more casual, especially the perfect description of a troublemaker.
As for feeling his surroundings, it's something everyone can do. While we have five senses, there are other things we can do to function. One example is feeling your surroundings. Similar to how your body reacts to the environment, maintaining homeostasis, that same function can be used to analyze that surrounding.
That was why he was able to detect the sucker punch Ryūen attempted to do. While he was punching, the air around the area Ryūen began to divert away, the sudden change in environment when his fist came towards him was what he could sense, allowing him to avoid the blow, and retaliate.
All in all, Munfurawa did not really care about what the delinquent thought about him. He was capable of handling himself, and if he could remain invisible in the eyes of this class, then perhaps the entire school will treat him invisible.
So far, it seemed to be working like a beauty. Not caring about what others thought, and why they were panicking, he left once it was lunch break.
Looking around at the cafeteria, it seemed that literally every student had found someone to hang out with. This was perfect, Munfurawa thought, as it allowed him to get what he wanted without any form of acknowledgment.
Making his way to the cafeteria, he ignored the commotion around him, only focusing on himself, as he made his way to get some food.
Ordering a simple chicken sandwich, some corn, and a nice guava fruitpunch to go with it. It was relatively cheap, only costing 30 private points to his 99,770, even if the food wasn't entirely fulfilling. He rarely ate over the normal amount, not wanting to tire from over-indulgence. As a result, he was on course to returning to class, when he spotted a group of students packed up near the door of Class 1-D.
These were not students of Class 1-D, but rather Class 1-C, something Munfurawa could detect, due to the fact that he had met this individual before.
"So, Sudou…" One of the goons working for the delinquent stated, Ishizaki.
"Yes, I want you to get in an altercation with the angered boy, making Class 1-D look bad. That way we will not have them interfering with out advances…" Komiya mumbled back. However, Munfurawa could clearly hear what was going on.
He looked to the side behind him, and saw a security camera positioned nicely towards the group, but away from Munfurawa.
Eventually, the goons turned around and grinned, upon spotting Munfurawa.
Munfurawa didn't flinch, but he did back away somewhat, which made the delinquents smirk more.
Thankfully, they stopped exactly where Munfurawa wanted him to. He had fallen right into his trap.
"So, we meet again, huh?" Ryūen started appearing behind Munfurawa, smirking, as the trapped boy looked disinterested. It was a shame he was acting up now, in front of his
Oh well, best to diffuse the situation as best as he could. He decided to remain silent and let the delinquent ramble as to however he wants.
When he felt the environment change, he caught the punch of one of the goons, looking back at Ryūen's facial expression.
But still, he wouldn't speak to them, much to Ryūen's dismay and anger.
"You must think you are so much better than me, huh?" Ryūen replied at last.
Once again, Munfurawa did not reply, he didn't bother to.
"You see, I'll make you pay, I'll make you and your class pay. I have a couple other targets on your fellow peers on that class, and I can't wait to see your class tumble." Ryūen smirked, before walking away with his band of lowlifes.
"Such stupid people…" Was all Munfurawa mumbled before he walked back into class, sitting down in his corner seat observing, and quickly falling back to his schedule once he realized no one turned an eye to him.
Sighing, he continued his work that he needed to finish before he had some errands to run. If he wanted to avoid drama, he needed something in his possession to help him avoid a potential drama he may experience.
Once class ended, he noticed everyone eagerly heading out, enjoying their lives, probably to hang out at the pool or something.
He wasn't sure, but he knew that Ryūen would be too busy with his own deeds to know what Munfurawa was going to do.
One way ask why he was going through with his plans, however, he needed to unless he wanted to risk drama within his immediate surroundings. He cared very little for this class, but if keeping the status-quo meant keeping him invisible, then so be it.
Walking to the office, he specifically looked around for the security room. Once he found it, he spotted the documents full of clips on the computer. It wasn't his fault they decided to leave the computer logged in. It made it easier for me. Eventually converting the clip to contact with his phone, he could easily message and leak the video out if needed be.
This would somewhat become his daily schedule, albeit without sneaking into the security room. He would attend his class, go to the martial arts room, and then finally back where he would eat and then study for a bit, finally sleeping.
With that potential threat of his classroom and more so himself resolved, he made his way towards the martial arts room. A week had passed since then, and he was hoping that this repeat would remain.
Much to his dismay, today was different, as there were people there. A lot of people.
Sighing, he made his way to the corner, watching as some kicked punching bags with such sloppy positions and movements, just taking a few kicks before slacking off.
Already, Munfurawa could not take them seriously, as they had flaws, he could easily exploit. Whatever, as long as they didn't see him, he was fine…
"Hey! You look new! What's your name?" A somewhat small girl with a modest body came too close to Munfurawa, much to his discomfort. She had brown, shoulder-length hair, was around 162 cm, or 5'4". However, she seemed to have a rather voluptuous body, with very toned thighs and hips. No doubt this girl had strong kicks, but her openness and quick to distraction could be of an exploit.
"I'm Sana Azuma, what's your name?!" Azuma excitedly asked, which made Munfurawa sigh in annoyance as he took out his taekwondo uniform, his 3rd degree blackbelt being of notoriety to most in the room, much to the dismay of Munfurawa.
"Oh wow! You're a third degree?! You must be very skilled at martial arts!" Azuma exclaimed excitedly, and again Munfurawa sighed, he was glad she hadn't lectured him regarding to answer her.
She eventually pouted, "Hey are you ignoring me?!"
That made Munfurawa grunt, before walking away. He really did not want to interact a lot right now. He was new, and felt somewhat awkward to talk. Especially to a bubbly girl like her, considering what he had already gone through with one.
Azuma clenched her fist in annoyance, her nice bubbly girl act turning to more genuine frustration.
"Fine! I challenge you to a spar! If you beat me, you can stay quiet and I will leave you alone, but if I beat you, you must talk to me!" Azuma gave Munfurawa an ultimatum, which he clearly realized.
However, Munfurawa felt that this was acceptable. He gets a spar easily, but he hadn't really warmed up.
"Ill let you warm up of course, but you must spar me today!" Azuma angrily demanded, which Munfurawa glanced over, picking up his jump rope and twirling it until he felt sweat coming down on him.
Then, performing some kicks here and there, Munfurawa made his way to his challenger. He watched her as she herself performed kicks. Judging based off that, Munfurawa felt somewhat confident and hopeful in his abilities.
"It seems despite your lack of language, you understand a challenge…" Azuma teased, clearly trying to get Munfurawa worked up, which proved ineffective.
"Alright, fine! Let's just go." Azuma stated at last, putting on her black belt and uniform, hands clapped together.
Munfurawa did the same, and they both simultaneously bowed, respecting and initiating a sparring match. It was the respectful way to commence the fight, acknowledging each other's progress to this.
Suddenly, both got into their respective fighting positions.
Munfurawa got into a fighting stance, which Azuma did as well. One thing Munfurawa noticed, was the fact that Azuma had gotten into a more basic fighting stance. While she was crouched, with her fists blocking her vital parts well, she did put herself in a compromising position, as she neglected below her hip.
While his martial arts class allowed him to excel and polish his techniques with kicks. As for the others, he had learned through his street fighting experience, the bodily movements of a usual fighter. The before and after of how one brings their body. The looks on their face whenever they want to strike, and what May aggregate them into initiating a brawl.
He was taught from his time in the street fighting, how his opponents would retaliate, and how to react accordingly. Thus, he usually let the other attack first, so he could counterattack, which was his best attribute in a fight. The other being his endurance and agility. Because of the numerous tournaments he had participated in, he had at least 2 hours of fighting regularly.
He is rather brutal in his fighting, but then again, there was no rules in fighting. All that mattered was that one was down, while the other was victorious. Even then, that wasn't a total win.
Munfurawa, by comparison kept his arms a bit lower, but tilted his torso back somewhat. He seemed intrigued to see the kind of fighting style she would use against him. She must be very potent and strong if she wanted to spar people this openly.
Immediately, Azuma went straight for Munfurawa, who already realized she was the aggressor type.
He sighed, as he had to find and see when they got themselves in a compromising position.
Slipping from her first punch, he quickly leaned in, kneeing her pelvic area, before pushing her away, using her shock, to back kick her straight in the ribcage.
Munfurawa already sighed, thinking the match was already over. His kicks, when snapped like his backside kicks, were enough to rattle the immediate part of the body that was struck. For Munfurawa to strike Azuma's chest with this kind of kick, her breath must've been temporarily hijacked, as she felt her insides shake from the impact of his kicks.
"That kick… was so strong…" Was all Azuma was thinking, as she kneeled to catch her breathe.
Munfurawa was merely watching. While she hadn't fallen out of the ring, she was on the perimeter, and was kneeling.
But to his mild surprise, she got up. While she was panting, her will was strong. Munfurawa sighed, looks like he'll have to hit her with a stronger kick. He had tried to be a bit weaker, so that he could see what he was working with around his club, but felt that by shutting them down, he wouldn't be able to learn anything.
This time taking charge, he saw her eyes widen, before she did her own kick. A simple side kick that caught him off guard. He hadn't expected her to do a proper kick.
Seemed that she was finally getting serious.
She finally had an express of seriousness, which Munfurawa appreciated. Noticing her kicks this time were quicker, he couldn't retaliate as quick as before.
Azuma attempted to strike Munfurawa with a punch to his neck, which he blocked with his arms, which diffused any damage it could've done.
"Why haven't you punched me yet?!" Azuma asked in curiosity, but once again Munfurawa stayed silent. In truth, Munfurawa rarely punched. He mostly used his hands to grab and immobilize opponents. He could slap his opponents as well, but he chooses not to. He feels kicks are more potent and stronger, which makes sense.
The rest of the audience looked on in anticipation, seeing who would come out on top.
Seeing as Azuma had gotten herself in a position and tried backing up, Munfurawa saw this, and leaped up, swing his legs across, striking Azuma in her side, and temple.
He had swung his right leg to her side, then twisted his body further to strike his left leg straight down, to hit her head.
Landing properly, Azuma had fallen, the blow to her head knocking her out cold. She had a comedic spiral on both of her eyes, but she wasn't dead, just knocked out. She was going to have a headache when she woke up.
So too, would Munfurawa once she annoyed the hell out of him. Girls, huh…
The audience who had remained silent cheered for Munfurawa's victory, but this only made him nervous.
"Shit, now they know who I am, I'm not invisible!" Was all he was thinking, as he sighed and walked back to his corner. He was immediately greeted by other students who enjoyed martial arts, but Munfurawa had no intentions to chat.
What made Munfurawa different from the rest, was the fact that he had spend nine months street fighting petty thugs, which he remembered vividly. While they weren't difficult, Munfurawa had learned a lot of extra fighting moves that could help him in the event things got difficult.
But for now, he focused on his exercise and techniques, ignoring the shocked looks of others in the room. He was not going to let those looks weigh him down.
To the other students in the room it was a shock. Some were even second or third year, and to see a first year decimate another within under five minutes, was intriguing, so naturally they wanted to interrogate and understand him. Of course, his lack of communication and the likes was what made them hesitate twice.
He did also have a somewhat scary tone to his body. His black iris made his eye seem like a huge pupil. His hair was somewhat messy and wavy which gave him a somewhat delinquent look. But more so was a quiet student with his perceptive look.
It wasn't of disinterest or a cold serious look. But rather a more perceptive look that made it seem he was always observing around, of course with a serious look. While his eyes showed little care, they were looking around. Though his small natural frown did make it seem like it
When he was fighting however, his facial expression switched rapidly. The calm and somewhat serious expressions changed rapidly. He wasn't an emotionless and stoic person, but he was hard to read. He could be cunning, and smart when he wanted to.
As for when he was fighting or provoked, his eyes, rather than composed, cool, and observant, became more feral like, the black irises meaning anyone who stared at him saw their own terrified expression. His eye size increased, and his mouth opened, as he was baring his teeth which in which his canines were surprisingly sharp.
It terrified the average person, and anyone would think Munfurawa was some type of canine monster. It didn't help that Munfurawa's eyes weren't normal, exactly, and thus even athletic or people who fought could be surprised by Munfurawa's mismatched eye colours.
Eventually, the day was up, and without any more interference, Munfurawa had left the room, leaving the others to gossip about the mysterious boy.
But again, Munfurawa didn't want to be brought out of his invisibility. He just wanted to live his life. The last times he wasn't invisible, it wasn't pleasant. He would never let himself be the embarrassment again. And likewise, he would never try and be desperate for friends.
Making his way to his room, he was met with a weird spectacle. It seemed that a commotion was starting between two major groups. But again, Munfurawa couldn't care.
He could make out a petite girl with a cane, looking over a magenta haired delinquent, whom Munfurawa immediately recognized, as Kakeru Ryūen. He sighed in annoyance.
It was raining too, these people must be stupid to come out here. Or they didn't care for their health at all.
Munfurawa didn't care, until he noticed the commotion of a bunch of somewhat tall buff dudes surrounding the girl, who merely signaled for them to stand down.
Whoever this girl was, she must hold a powerful role in this school, Munfurawa quickly theorized, further confirmed when he began to rant about making his way to the top of the platform.
While this was nothing new to Munfurawa, this did confirm his thoughts of this school. There was a hierarchical stature on this school.
Whatever, Munfurawa thought, as long as he got through his life without much difficulty then he would care less.
Without meaning too, he hung around for too long, and one of Ryūen's goon spotted Munfurawa.
He sighed already deciding to walk past to greet the delinquent. Ait was a shame he had to cross through this section to get to his room.
"Well, we certainly have the occurrence of meeting each other quiet a bit…" Ryūen smirked, talking in a sarcastic tone. Once again, Munfurawa remained silent, and his path to his room was blocked yet again.
"We'll I certainly think you should talk, considering we'll be seeing each other a lot more often at this rate." The delinquent emphasized, and yet again Munfurawa didn't care, seeing the delinquent's facial expression change from a confident smirk to a bit of anger.
He demanded respect, and Munfurawa wouldn't give it to him.
He could see his favourite bodyguard Albert Yamada yet again, however he merely looked at Munfurawa in a neutral expression.
On the other side, Munfurawa could tell the petite girl and her group were looking at him in interest.
This was bad, Munfurawa thought. He was just trying to make his way back to his room. Now he was the centre of attention in the middle of two groups wanting to fight each other.
"You little punk, answer me!" Ryūen enraged, finally snapped, throwing a kick towards Munfurawa, who lowered himself and grabbed his leg in a firm grip, his hand not feeling the pain that came with it.
Ryūen's face turned to shock, seemingly not expecting Munfurawa to commit to such an action.
With his leg in a vulnerable position, Munfurawa elbows his thigh twice before pushing him into his bodyguard, who caught him no problem.
Ryūen seemed pissed and wanted to retaliate, but he also seemed shocked. The move Munfurawa had performed was too brutal for any martial arts students.
Regardless, he left with a limp not wanting to embarrass himself further, in front of the other group it seems.
"3-0 asshole…" Munfurawa mumbled, which did not go unnoticed by the petite girl, who was looking at the new student in interest.
"Well that was unexpected…" The petite girl finally stated after the delinquent had left, and Munfurawa was about to make his way to his room, before he was stopped by the other group.
Munfurawa sighed silently, was he going to have to fight his way to this group as well?
His eyes looked to one of the bodyguards, despite the disadvantage, Munfurawa showed no fear.
"Interesting, I don't think I've seen your face before this…" The petite girl mentioned offhandedly, and Munfurawa looked at the girl, analyzing her. She was doing the same, and Munfurawa could tell she found him interesting, which was the compete opposite he wanted.
"I hope it stays that way." Was all Munfurawa replied with before he proceeded to leave, not caring at all for the fact that the girl's bodyguard was angered and attempting to grab him to hold him still.
Of course, Munfurawa had felt the obstruction in the air, and turned around slipping away from his grasp.
"Let him go." The petite girl commanded to her "bodyguard," allowing Munfurawa to walk off without any more of a struggle.
As the boy's figure became smaller, with the increasing distance, heading to his dorm and room, the petite girl looked at him in intrigue.
"Sakayanagi-san, why did we let that boy walk off?" One of her companions asked, turning his attention to the girl.
"He's most certainly interesting… Being able to handle himself and somewhat embarrass Ryūen is no small feat. Did you notice how even Yamada hesitated to stop him?" Sakayanagi asked, to which her group nodded. To have perhaps the strongest physical person hesitate to strike someone down must've meant this boy was a serious and powerful individual.
"I feel something special within that boy, he will most definitely get in the way of Ryūen's goals, but I do wonder…" Sakayanagi pondered, trying to remember something.
"Wonder what?"
Sakayanagi shook her head, "It's nothing, I assure you." She lied to her group, as she went to her own dorm, that mysterious boy now on her mind.
As she lied down, putting her cane down, she wondered why that boy intrigued her. Almost as much as Ayanokouji. Unlike that boy, this one seemed more mysterious. He seemed different from the rest of the group, not just in his looks, but his customs, as if he wasn't from Tokyo.
She remembered when she would visit other parts of Japan with her father. Including the islands. For now, Sakayanagi hoped she could meet this boy again, just to gather more information regarding him. His lack of communication was also a hurdle that she wanted to overcome.
Pondering, she knew at this rate, she had to learn more about this boy, just like Ayanokouji. Hell, she didn't even get the boy's name.
Speaking of said boy, as he made his way to his dorm, he was somewhat pissed. He realized just now how wet he had gotten due to the rain pouring on him. His uniform was going to need to be cleaned, and his hair had gotten even wilder because of the rain.
Passing by some students who seemed to be finishing by the pool, Munfurawa could care less, despite the weird looks given to him.
"Hey!" Munfurawa turned around to see the beige haired girl greeting him.
Munfurawa looked behind him, and used him to assume she was talking to the guy behind Munfurawa, and quickly walked to his room, locking the door.
That girl was probably going to be pissed with him, but he could care less. Right now, studying and sleeping seemed nice. Of course, he had to go soon so that he could wash and dry his clothes.
This was one of the stranger things compared to the islands he grew up in, to the city now. There were machines to wash and dry you clothes.
Putting them in, the machine would first wash, spin, then dry out his clothes. That was very intriguing.
"Funny seeing you here again…" Munfurawa turned around and saw that the girl he had beaten in his sparring match was here to clean up her uniform as well. Sana Azuma. Once again Munfurawa focused on the machine, before turning to walk away.
"Don't think I'll forget how you knocked me out. I will train to get stronger, so that I can finally beat you!" Sana Azuma declared, bot in an angry tone, but rather a more passionate and serious tone. It was different from the usual happy go lucky and nice attitude she showed to everyone. It was almost like Munfurawa was seeing the true nature of Sana Azuma, and therefore he felt necessary to encourage that.
"I'll look forward to future sparring, then." Munfurawa stated, his voice shocking the girl, before he left to his room, to study.
He would eventually go to pick up his laundry, but when he was heading back after putting them in the machine, and briefly talking to Azuma, he noticed the same girl he had ignored earlier staring at him, her eyes baggy, and the usual glow in her eyes replaced with a shocking amount of hatred.
Munfurawa didn't care and proceeded to walk in his room, closing the door before she could respond.
A loud sound resonated from his door before silence occurred.
"What a strange girl…" Was all Munfurawa thought before he continued with his schedule.
Eventually, late in the night, when he was about to sleep, he decided to gather his laundry. Thankfully not meeting Azuma again, which would have made things awkward between them.
Unfortunately, he did meet, yet another girl while making his way to his room, his white clothing in his hand, wrapped neatly around to not fall off.
He spotted the black-haired girl with some braids, again with her cold and serious look on her face. Even in the dim lit environment of the hall, Munfurawa could clearly see well in this environment.
The girl was wearing more casual clothing that Munfurawa did not care to mention, only her long, kind of braided long hair sticking out to him.
As he approached closer, the girl began to stare at him with that cold, serious look. Munfurawa remained composed, caring very little for how she perceived him. Unlocking his door to his room, which was right next to that girl it seemed, he entered and closed the door, leaving the girl outside pondering on her own thoughts.
Getting into his bed, he didn't think much of the actions he committed today. Besides actually talking to two girls, he didn't care and hoped he wouldn't have to anytime soon.
A.N / Alright, second chapter finished. So, it seems Munfurawa has had a lot of interactions with people who already have an opinion on him. Him and Ryūen seem to have some beef going on, Arisu Sakayanagi is intrigued by him, and Azuma is passionate to beat him in a spar. Already he has three interesting "connections" that are more one sided.
The idea here is that the others ponder more about Munfurawa more than he does for them. But despite this, he can analyze and predict their movement. He isn't a manipulator or anything, he has some good will behind him, that is unfortunately clouded by how dirty society had treated him. It's just he wants to remain invisible as he has accepted his status in the world. However, future events will change it.
Of course, there are the two other girls who acknowledged him, but he has yet to talk to. You can probably guess who they are based on the descriptions I gave about them. I don't really know how to continue, as I want to have right pace. Already in this chapter only one week has past. As for how much chapters this story will have, I don't know. I'll do what I feel is interesting. Anyways, see you later.
