With their wedding still some months away, Elsie and Charles stumble their way through their engagement with mere cups of tea to sustain them whilst they work out exactly how this is ever going to work. An in-canon tale that stretches the time frame seen in the show but only for the purposes of delving into more Chelsie goodness.

"These Cherished Chapters" is a fic where each chapter is a standalone glimpse into Charles and Elsie's life - whether it be domestic fluff, romance, smut, or anything else in between. Or, in other words, a place for me to display every small bit of Chelsie goodness I write that has nowhere else to go. Rated-T for now but note that it is subject to change.

March 1912 - a baby is abandoned at the doors of Downton Abbey. Servant Thomas Barrow agrees to claim paternity for the foundling. The story mainly revolves around Thomas and his daughter, but the other characters also play a role in every chapter. The characters don't belong to me, only the OC does.

Poor Edith was the ugly, jealous middle daughter. No one’s favorite, always alone, she was a character on the show she never thought much about. Until she woke up in her body. Setting: 4x7; before the Crawley family travels to London. Since Mrs. Hughes gave the frame with the photo of Alice to Mr. Carson, the matter keeps upsetting her. In another sleepless night she makes up her mind about what to do, while Mr. Carson ponders over his feelings. Will she open up to him? Has he got feelings for her? And what about the photo?

Anthony went through with the wedding. We begin with the wedding night and fast forward through the years. This is M because it focuses on certain activities but it is not explicit. OK, need to amend that. Apparently it is a bit explicit, maybe more than a little. Not full on smut though... well, maybe a little?
