Chapter five

--

Donkey Kong entered some sort of abandoned airplane. Trees were growing on it and most of the old plane was either broken or rusted. Donkey Kong could see lots of Thug Slugs, peacefully sliding around the place. Donkey Kong leaped onto some old and unstable platforms and they tilted as he set foot on them, but he quickly jumped to the other side, managing to not fall off.

Then he saw a barrel. Immediately he leapt into it. He landed in a mine cart and as soon as he was in, he sped off, racing along on the rickety old rails. There were a few parts that were broken and had a large gap, but this was nothing new. And Donkey Kong just easily leapt over them.

He soon raced out of the old plane and could see more destroyed planes high up in the trees, like many he had already seen. He wondered if there was a pilot who was very bad at their job around here somewhere.

Then he saw a smaller plane being lift up by some ropes. The leapt onto the plane, the wheels of the mine cart rolling on the roof of the plane, and then he jumped onto the other side of rails.

Some things that Donkey Kong could also see were large bits of metal, rusting in the trees, and some had moss and other plants growing on them. Besides the metal, the trees looked absolutely beautiful. They twisted into all different shapes and sizes and just simply seemed enormous, since Donkey was so high up.

Soon, the rails began to disappear and turned back into the wooden planks that Donkey Kong had been walking on before. This is going to be a rough ride. He thought nervously. He could see a few penguins on the rails, who screamed and jumped out of the way when they saw the mine cart charging at them. Donkey found that a bit funny.

As the mine cart went on, Donkey Kong could soon see waterfalls in the distance, the shimmering water flowing beautifully into a small pool. Donkey Kong would so distracted by the sight, that he didn't see the Monocle Monica on the path.

When Donkey Kong noticed the Monica, it was already too late. They mine cart crashed into the Monocle Monica, completely running it over. Then the Monocle Monica came out from the other side, and did NOT look happy. "Watch where your going!" It screamed, scowling and cursing. "Sorry!" Donkey called back. I better watch where I'm going more often.

That's when he noticed the tracks ending again. Oh coconuts. Donkey thought. He saw some large blue crates getting lowered and immediately made a move. He leapt onto the a crate, forcing it down a bit and went onto another, before getting back onto the track.

That's when he realised a lot more crates on the tracks. There was a whole bunch of them above him tied by ropes, and they almost smacked him on the end but he ducked just in time. Then he saw a lot more crates on the tracks. Why would someone just leave these crates on a mine cart track!? He thought, a bit annoyed.

With a lot of skill, Donkey Kong leapt over the barrels, sometimes crashing onto the corner, but hey, at least he didn't get knocked off the track, right? Anyways, he could see more planes coming up and one of the plane's engines was spinning right above the tracks, and for some weird reason, it was on fire.

Seriously, nothing makes sense here. Donkey Kong sighed. Why in the world would a plane engine be on fire!?

when the mine cart got closer to the flaming plane engine, Donkey ducked into the mine cart, getting as low as he could to avoid getting his fur lit on fire. And it worked because the mine cart when right under the fire, and didn't burn Donkey's fur. Thank goodness.

Then he saw some large and chunky vines blocking the path. It seems they had just grown like that. This track must be old then. Donkey realised. He got prepared to make the mine cart jump over the vines. He leapt skilfully into the air, avoiding the think vines (that by the way looked very fat. You ever heard of a fat vine?).

Then Donkey Kong noticed the mine cart getting a bit slower. He looked forward he saw that the tracks had a big drop. Donkey Kong prepared himself. Then, whoosh! The mine cart flew down the tracks. "AHHHHHHH WHY AM I DOING THIS!?" Donkey yelped. Soon the drop stopped and Donkey managed to calm himself down.

Then he saw a Painguin on the tracks. Painguin was holding a fish bone spear and stood quite confidently in front of the mine cart. "Stop! Or I'll make you stop!" He yelled. "Nah. I don't want to." Donkey Kong called back to him. Painguin pointed his spear more forward. "Then I'll destroy your mine cart!" "Nuh-uh! The only thing you'll accomplish is getting run over with my mine cart" Donkey Kong shouted. Then the mine cart crashed into Painguin and ran him over. "Idiot."

Donkey Kong leaped over a large gap, but this time when he landed the tracks he was on tilted a bit, and crates started to slide towards him. Donkey Kong easily leaped over the crates and dodged the ones coming from above him. Suddenly, a large piece of metal seemed to come out of nowhere and destroyed the tracks in front of Donkey. "Well that's just great." Donkey grumbled. Then he leaped over the gap. "I am so sick of this. When is it over?"

Then he saw something. The end. The end of the tracks. They just stopped in midair. Shoot. Donkey thought. The mine cart began to slow down as it got to the end and then completely stopped. Donkey Kong was about to sigh with relief when the tracks began to shake. They shook and shook until they untied tracks came off and the mine cart fell down a long distance. "I ALWAYS THOUGHT MY LIFE WOUKD END LIKE THISSSSSS!" Donkey yelled.

Donkey Kong grabbed the edges of the mine cart and pulled himself in. Then he closed his eyes, ready for the end. But then the mine cart landed on another track with a big thud. Donkey Kong opened his eyes and looked around. "Well, that was quite lucky!" He said with a smile.

A large red ship rose from the water, and Donkey Kong leaped onto it, travelling along the ships deck. He looked down and saw the river right below him. "Jeez, I must've fell from a great height!" He exclaimed.

Then he jumped onto another set of tracks. But these ones were all wobbly and crooked, which made the mine cart shake. Then the tracks ended and the mine cart fell off the edge, throwing Donkey Kong off and onto another platform. "What a ride." He said, catching his breath.
