Author's Note:

Hi everyone, I'm a little embarrassed, this story hasn't been updated in a long time.

I've been busy with college and writing a multi-crossover series (Fate Stay X Marvel X The Owl House X Amphibia X Gravity Falls etc.).

That series, while unpopular, remains my main project.

But seeing that there are people interested in the development of this story, I decided to make you happy and write another chapter.

Narrator's POV

The two girls, Luz and Vee, are still in the alley talking to each other.

"Vee, could you tell me where I am exactly?" Luz asks, hoping to get some information.

Among the many lessons Luz has learned

from his family, a good portion of them are centered around knowing the battlefield and your enemy.

"We're in Bonesborough." Vee replies, as she takes a bite of the protein bars offered by Luz.

"It's Bonesborough would it be?" Luz asks, rotating her hand, a gesture that means: she continues to talk and give me more information.

"One of the largest cities in the Boiling Isles, boasting the largest library and best harbor." Vee said, providing a couple of useful pieces of information.

'It might be cliché but I could use a goods storage warehouse or an abandoned warehouse as a temporary hideout.' Luz thinks, coming the port as a rather useful place.

All kinds of goods and people come and go in a place, a useful place to borrow small amounts of materials or find information.

'Once I can find a secluded spot I can study the suitcase-shaped portal.

But if I can't make it work due to lack of understanding of their science/magic I can make a late night trip to the library to get more information.' Luz thinks, creating a plan B in the event that she can't make the briefcase she borrowed work.

One thing Luz has learned from her superhero family and Batman comics is that a good hero always needs backup plans.

"Why is this place called the Boiling Isles?

There are some fabulous hot springs and because of the cute girls that live on the island?" Luz asks with a Tony smile.

Yep, Iron-Man's daughter hasn't just learned advanced science, she's also learned a thing or two about how to charm people.

Vee blushes slightly at Luz's words, clearly the Starks' charm knows no cultural or planetary barriers.

"The name of the country is rather unimaginative. They call us the Boiling Isles, because we are islands surrounded by the boiling sea that can burn anyone lucky enough to fall into the water." Vee explains the origin of the name of this country/island.

This information entered Luz's super-brain, seeing it processed quickly, producing several results.

'A boiling ocean, this means that beach parties and swimsuits are something that probably don't exist in this place.

Such a shame, I would have liked to see an elf girl in a bikini.' Luz thinks, letting her desires and hormones take over for a moment.

Unfortunately, Luz's scientific mind kicked in, putting a stop to adolescent fantasies in favor of rational, scientific thinking.

"Taking into account the water cycle, a boiling ocean does not create boiling rain." Luz said, hoping for once that she had created a wrong theory.

At the word boiling rain, Vee's entire body begins to tremble, as if she had just relived a nightmare.

"Boiling rain is one of the worst plagues of the Boiling Isles." Vee said, trying to stop shaking, not wanting to sound pathetic.

Luz started to feel a strong feeling inside her, worry. For herself and for Vee.

'The armor I have at the moment is not designed to operate in extreme environments.

A drop of acid can't do much, but a heavy, prolonged rain could melt the armor and leave me naked.' Luz thinks, imagining a bad ending for herself and her gear.

Luz stopped thinking about what might happen to her, focusing on Vee.

Many people can say that Luz inherited her father's brain and her mother's heart.

'The acid is a corrosive element that can not only destroyed factory materials, but also organic tissues.' Luz thinks, knowing how ugly and complicated acid wounds can be.

Luz learned this knowledge by reading her parents' old medical books.

Although Luz Noceda-Stark is famous for being the daughter of Iron-Man, Luz is also the daughter of Camila, a doctor who graduated with honors.

So Luz tried to understand engineering and medicine.

The first was easier than the second, but Luz can boast of having, in theory, the knowledge of a final year medical student. As far as practical experience is concerned, Luz is limited to small street animals.

"Vee, how common and dangerous is acid rain?" Luz asks, hoping it's a weather event that isn't too common or that the acid on this planet is less corrosive.

"They happen every now and then, they're not too dangerous if you have a roof over your head or a hole to hide in." Vee replies, making a small face, as if she were speaking from her own experience.

"An environmental danger that has persisted since the creation of this island, and its inhabitants have found nothing better than to take refuge in their homes?" Luz asks, not being able to believe she has such a bad solution in her opinion.

"The roofs of houses are enchanted to be resistant to acid rain, those who dare or strong enough can create a protective barrier for the entire house." Vee lists a couple of solutions from the natives to counteract the environmental problem of the Boiling Isles.

"I like what I hear, but has anyone ever thought of creating a protective energy barrier that covers the entire city?" Luz asks, sure of her words.

"I don't think that's possible, no witch is powerful enough to create such a large protective barrier." Vee said, unable to imagine a witch with such magical power.

"Where I come from, Wakanda has been doing it for many years, they certainly have Vibranium on their side.

But by building specially designed power plants and energy-directing capacity towers you could create a barrier to protect a city." Luz said, having conceived such a project in her head after visiting Wakanda.

"You must be a smart girl." Vee comments, only knowing part of Luz's speech, but enough to know that she's smart.

"I am the smartest girl in the world and probably in the history of the Earth." She declares Luz in a confident tone, ignoring the existence of Riri Williams or Lunella Lafayette.

"I wish I was such a self-confident girl." Vee comments, before taking another bite from the protein bars.

"Vee, do you happen to know a more secluded place, where a girl can tinker with her sudden purchases?" Luz questions, lightly patting the suitcase/portal she borrowed from Eda.

The poor girl remains silent for a moment, thinking carefully about Bonesborough and the possible places that can be useful to a clever girl who talks about inventions.

"Recently, Blight Industries closed their old factory in Bonesborough, moving to a bigger, better factory outside of town." Vee talks about what he heard on the streets and from other people.

"A recently abandoned factory. It seems like a suitable place for a girl like me." Luz said smiling, believing she had found a suitable place for her temporary den.

Before the argument between the two girls could continue, a group of guards entered the alley.

Luz hearing the sound of footsteps, puts on the high-tech glasses and puts on the mask to be able to hide her face.

Luz may be Tony Stark's daughter, but that doesn't make her an exhibitionist who wants to see his face everywhere.

"We found another dirty street rat!" One of the guards exclaims in a joyful voice.

Vee began to tremble and hide behind Luz, as if she had seen a group of horrible monsters.

"I take it from your uniforms and truncheons that you are Bonesborough's basic law enforcement and that you are not very kind to the poorer civilians." Luz said in a cold tone, appearing strong and hiding any doubts of fear, not wanting to give Vee a reason to have a panic attack.

Luz has seen her share of cops abusing their powers or targeting a very specific group of people.

"A big-mouthed foreign prostitute and a filthy street animal, I will receive two extra payments for you two from Warden Wrath." Said the tallest and biggest guard, who is probably the captain of the group.

"Do you think I'm a prostitute!?" Luz exclaims, raising her voice, rather angry at being confused for a woman who sells herself.

"What else could you be in such a tight dress?" asks the captain of the guards with a pleased tone.

"This is my suit for action, it can be considered my basic costume for hero work or stealth operations." Luz exclaims, giving a brief explanation for her tight clothing.

" So, girl you admit that you are a female thief, it means you are a dangerous female criminal.

We will get extra pay for capturing a threat to the peace and tranquility of Bonesborough." The guard captain said, understanding just what he wants to hear.

"I had two choices girls, the easy one and the hard one." Said one of the guards, who is short and fat.

" Easy choice, come with us to the Conformatorium without putting up any resistance." Said a guard, who is tall and thin.

"Or the difficult choice, try to escape and we would be forced to use force and you will have harsher conduct." The guard captain said, taking out his truncheon.

The rest of the guards also imitated their captain's gesture.

Luz was absolutely not scared by these guys, Vee on the other side seems close to getting her pants dirty.

"You picked the wrong girl to mess with." Luz said, handing Vee the borrowed briefcase/portal.

"I am the smartest girl in the world, armed with one of the most advanced armors in history." Luz said, bragging about her, as she gripped the handles of her tech case with both hands.

The handles cover his palms, then Luz spreads her hands, proceeding to operate this portable armor.

The armor in the suitcase is essentially made up of one hundred tiles in four blocks, all connected by thin threads that ran the length of Luz's arms, hand to hand through the handles.

Black and gray armor folds over Luz's body, component by component, expanding over her chest and legs, forming a high-tech armor.

The last armor component to be added was the helmet.

You see your mouth wide open not believing you have his eyes.

"Vee, if you're impressed now, wait until you see what else I can do. Merlin, take care of the wings." Luz states with a proud tone, calling for the help of her synthetic assistant, Merlin.

Merlin left his containment system, currently embedded within the armor's forearm, into Luz's tech backpack, starting it up.

In an instant, the backpack began to move and expose numerous mechanical parts that began to assemble, forming a jet-pack based on anti-gravity technology.

Luz took off slightly into the air, placing herself between Vee and the guards, keeping her arms pointed menacingly at the corrupt guards and bullies.

Luz rose slightly into the air, placing herself between Vee and the guards, keeping her arms pointed menacingly at the enemies.

"It's not so fun anymore when you're on the other side of the knife, right?" Luz asks, trying to scare the guards, slowly focusing energy into the repulsors to make them glow.

The light doesn't want to fight if it doesn't have to.

Especially when there is an innocent person behind her and her armor is so "limited".

"I shouldn't have accepted the extra patrols." One of the guards mutters, regretting her decisions.
