September 30th 2033…

Speeding through the storm soaked streets of Detroit, 30 year old Gavin slammed on the brakes outside of Henry Ford Hospital and got out of the car.

He sprinted to the passenger side and opened the door, picking 15 year old Leah up into his arms as she was half conscious before he ran into the ER.

"Help! I need some help!" Gavin yelled, 28 year old Hendrix Kamski running to them with a stretcher and Gavin putting Leah onto it before Hendrix rushed Leah into a triage room as Gavin ran after them.

"What happened to her?!" Hendrix responded, Gavin turning to his half sister.

"Someone was trying to kill her, I had to shoot him!" Gavin explained as he sat down and held Leah's right hand between his hands and Hendrix noticed that her blood pressure was dropping before she examined Leah's left side and called for an OR.

"She's bleeding internally, call Hank and let him know!" Hendrix responded, Leah turning terrified and trying to sit up but Gavin stopping her.

"It's gonna be okay, Red. I promise." Gavin whispered.

As Gavin waited in the OR waiting room after he was unable to get in touch with Hank or Seline, Hendrix approached him and he stood up.

"We had to remove her spleen but she's stable now. Just be careful when you go to see her." Hendrix whispered.

Gavin nodded before he walked into the room Leah was in and he sat down and lightly rubbed Leah's head.

"I'm gonna be here when you wake up, Red. I promise I'm not going anywhere." Gavin whispered.

She meant the world to him and he wasn't going anywhere…

Present time…

"We've got officers sweeping the neighborhood, in case anybody saw anything." Ben explained after he approached Hank.

"Okay, well let me know if they turn anything up." Hank responded.

"What are you gonna do with that?" Ben asked as he motioned to Connor, who was by the car with Leah as they looked at CCTV camera footage.

"I have no idea." Hank answered.

Ben walked away and Hank walked to Leah and Connor.

"It stole wire cutters… there must be a reason." Connor responded, catching Hank's attention.

"Wire cutters? The fuck you talkin' about?" Hank asked.

"We checked the CCTV while you were questioning the clerk. The android was caught on camera stealing them. It had wire cutters and it was looking for a place to hide." Connor explained.

Turning around, Leah saw the abandoned house and the abandoned car.

"So they took the first bus and stayed until the end of the line…" Leah replied.

"Its decision wasn't planned, it was driven by fear." Connor responded as he turned to her and they looked at each other.

"Androids don't feel fear." Hank spoke up, Leah and Connor looking at him.

"Deviants do. They get overwhelmed by their emotions and make irrational decisions." Connor responded.

"So, what's your conclusion, Sherlock?" Hank asked sarcastically.

"It didn't have a plan, and it had nowhere to go. Maybe it didn't go far…" Connor explained.

Watching from where she was, Kara turned to Alice.

"Police are on our trail… stay close." Kara whispered, Alice nodding.

Kara opened the door of the fence and Alice held onto her right hand as they walked towards the train station… and they heard "Holy fuck, that's them! HEY, STOP! POLICE!" and ran off.

Hearing the yelling, Leah and Connor ran to the cop.

"Which way did it go?!" Connor asked, the cop pointing towards the Ravendale train station.

"That way!" The cop responded, Connor and Leah running down the sidewalk and hearing "They're over there!" and running down the alleyway as Kara and Alice climbed over the fence.

Stopping at the fence, Leah and Connor looked at Alice and Kara and then Connor heard footsteps and saw another officer pull his gun and held his left hand up.

"Don't shoot, we need them alive!" Connor explained as Kara and Alice slid down the side and climbed over the barrier as Hank caught up to Leah and Connor.

"Oh fuck… that's insane…" Hank responded as he was out of breath and grabbed onto Connor's jacket as Kara and Alice ran across the highway and reached the median. "Hey! Where are you going?!" He asked.

"We can't let them get away!" Connor responded as Kara and Alice ran down the median.

"They won't! They'll never make it to the other side!" Hank replied firmly.

"We can't take that chance!" Connor responded.

"Hey, you will get yourselves killed! Do not go after them, you two! That's an order!" Hank shouted.

Connor let his left hand drop to his side and he turned to Hank and nodded.

Watching the two reach the other side of the highway, Leah closed her eyes in relief and Connor rested his left hand on her wrist as Leah's hands were still on the fence.

"Let go." Connor whispered, Leah opening her eyes and looking at him before she let go of the fence and followed them to the car.

"They won't get far, you two. We'll find them again sooner or later. Let's go." Hank responded before they got in the car and buckled up, Hank starting the car and carefully pulling back into traffic.

At the precinct, they walked in as Gavin was putting Todd in a cell.

"I want my lawyer!" Todd retorted.

"You can wait." Gavin replied dryly.

Gavin walked back to his desk and looked at Leah once she was at hers, the two nodding at each other as Hank and Connor were explaining everything to Fowler.

Gavin stood up and motioned to Leah, who followed him down the hallway and into the interrogation room… and Gavin closed the door and pulled the evidence up on his phone.

"Found the CyberLife receipts… two separate transactions, the YK500 was purchased on January 30th 2034 and the AX400 was purchased on February 8th 2034." Gavin responded as Leah saw them.

"He wants to lawyer up…" Leah replied.

"Sick bastard can wait, Red. Especially after what he did to you." Gavin responded before he closed out the file and put his phone in his jacket pocket.

"That night is one of the few that's permanently burned into my brain." Leah replied, Gavin wrapping his arms around her shoulders and kissing her forehead as she rested her hands on his arms.

"I'm so sorry I hurt you last night and for how I behaved earlier. There was no need for that." Gavin responded softly.

"You're right, there's no need for that. Tension does run high in our line of work though." Leah replied before they let go. "We better get back to the squad room before the others get the wrong impression." She responded, Gavin nodding before they left the interrogation room.

Gavin walked to his desk and Leah walked to hers, grabbing her bottle of Hum Flatter Me and putting it in her coat pocket before she, Hank and Connor left the precinct again.

"Time to go eat lunch, kiddo." Hank spoke to Leah before the three of them got into the car and buckled up, Hank turning the radio on.

Flinching slightly at the heavy metal, Leah switched the station and Nobody's Home by Avril Lavigne played as Hank rolled his eyes and drove.

Connor absentmindedly rested his right hand on Leah's left shoulder and Leah rested her left hand on his left hand.

Leah wasn't going to question why Connor wasn't behaving like a machine.
