Chapter 4: Kidnapped
Later that very middle of the evening the guests were gone and the kids were tucked in bed and Anakin and Padme were in for the night themselves.
But a familiar presence…was felt Anakin opened his eyes the second he felt it…
He got up throwing on a robe got up as Padme remained asleep.
And he walked out the room and followed the presence into the children's room and to his surprise it was the force ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn.
And he was observing the Skywalker twins while they slept.
"I visit them sometimes in their dreams. They're like their father…strong children." Qui-Gon said.
"They grow stronger every day." Anakin said.
"Strong in the force." Qui-Gon said.
"I'm guessing you're not really passing through, are you Master?" Anakin asked.
"No…I need your help Anakin." Qui-Gon said.
"With what?" Anakin asked.
"Obi-Wan has grown weary in his solitude. He's lost his way in the force. That's why he hasn't been able to reach me. There's even strange figures hunting him down and I fear he won't be prepared for them if they find him." Qui-Gon explained.
"Who are they?" Anakin asked.
"Inquisitors. Task force of the Senate. Heavily strong with the Dark Side of the Force. They're led by a Sith." Qui-Gon said.
"A Sith? But the Sith are dead. I killed Dooku and Palpatine myself." Anakin said.
"There's always another Ani. Palpatine hidden another if you wouldn't become his new apprentice after my Master Dooku was killed. But was set free…when the Jedi were being hunted by the Clones." Qui-Gon said.
"Who is it?" Anakin asked.
"I don't know. He's managed to cloud our vision this far since the Clone Wars ended. But he dealings with the Senate which is why they assemble the Inquisitors. And Obi-Wan will be defenseless against them." Qui-Gon said.
"What can I do, Master? I really want to help, I really do but I'm not a Jedi anymore…I have a family now and Obi-Wan stopped responding to my transmissions when Luke and Leia were three. I don't know what good I can do." Anakin explained.
"Remember what I taught Anakin. Nothing happens by accident. Trust in the force." Qui-Gon said.
Qui-Gon patted Anakin on the shoulder before disappearing in thin air.
Anakin…wasn't sure what to do not noticing Padme behind him…
"Ani?" Padme asked her husband.
Anakin turned, seeing her behind him…
"Padme…" Anakin said to her wife.
"Who were you taking to?" Padme asked.
Anakin told Padme Qui-Gon visited him before the temple attack; he felt he needed to tell her this if Obi-Wan was really in trouble…
"It was Qui-Gon again. He told me things about Obi-Wan." Anakin said.
"What things?" Padme asked.
"He said…people from the Senate are looking for him. And…he's lost his way." Anakin said.
"Should we try and reach him if he's in trouble? For all we know whoever's looking for him could come here. And if they find out what you are, the Senate will arrest you-" Padme said.
"I know. I know." Anakin said.
"Should we go to Tatoonie and make sure he's okay?" Padme asked.
"We can't leave Luke and Leia. Qui-Gon predicted they were strong with the force. If the Senate finds out they'll be in danger." Anakin said.
"What can we do then?" Padme asked.
Anakin went silent for a minute.
"I'll try to reach him again tomorrow. If he doesn't respond…I'll go myself." Anakin said.
Padme nods in worry and hugs and kisses her husband.
When dawn arrives Luke and Leia were up early and played in the Medo where Anakin and Padme had their picnic during the events of Attack of the Clones.
Luke was running around making shooting and lightsaber imitations pretending he was a Jedi like his father and saving the Galaxy.
And Leia again…was climbing a tree even after Padme told her not to do it again.
They seemed safe while playing outside but it didn't last. Leia heard a twig break and she looked down seeing Luke was still playing out in the field but Leia noticed movement in the bushes near him and the next she saw…made her gasp…
It was a man (The Bounty Hunter that kidnaps Leia in the Obi-Wan series).
Leia assumed it was stranger and he was walking towards Luke he didn't even notice him.
"LUKE!" Leia yells.
Luke didn't hear her she screams his name again but Luke was too far away he couldn't hear her she tried to climb down as fast as she could but fell like Padme warned her Leia hurt her arm but she was too worried about her brother to even care…
She got up and ran to Luke's position but saw she was being chased by other men.
They chased her in the forest like they did in the original timeline while the man Leia saw grabbed Luke from behind.
"HEY LET GO!" Luke called.
"Sorry kid. We're being paid to capture your bratty sister." The man said.
"No! Get off me!" Luke called.
Back at Lake County.
Anakin tried reaching Obi-Wan as he said he would but then…he sensed his children's anxieties he knew they were in trouble and ran out to find them.
But by the time he got to the medo Luke and Leia were being carried into the ship by the kidnappers.
"NO!" Anakin yelled.
When the ship lifted off Anakin grabbed it with force trying to pull it down to save his children…
But they fired a blaster from them and Anakin had to dodge it to avoid getting shot but lost his force grip on the ship and it took off with Luke and Leia…as their prisoners leaving Anakin in tears that he couldn't save his children…
"Luke…Leia…" Anakin said sadly.
Anakin didn't know what else to do except tell Padme what happened. Padme didn't take it well and any mother wouldn't she cried for her babies being kidnapped.
Anakin comforts Padme, hugging her in tears himself.
They both wanted their children back and knew they couldn't save them on their own…they needed…
…Obi-Wan.
