Chapter 8

A few days have passed since Rosette had taken her latest exorcist testing in order to join the Militia. The council was impressed with her capability and selflessness that they had approved her becoming a Militia member. No one could have been happier than Rosette when she heard the news and she already started planning her next missions. As part of the Militia, she also got a new uniform, which was quite revealing for a nun. One night somewhere in South Brooklyn, a mafia group was in a warehouse by the harbor where they were busy carrying out smuggled crates. The crates contained demons from the two trucks that were present. "Do you think it's alright to be handling this stuff boss?" One of the truck deliverers asked the Mafia leader in a Brooklyn accent. "Shut up and do your job. As long as these crates are sealed, they are nothing but shipment of art!" The Mafia leader said in a thick Brooklyn accent. Just then, a loud noise came from one of the smuggled crates, which just so happened to be a demon that was moving. "It can't be. The seal on these crates are supposed to be perfect." The mafia leader said in surprise as he didn't expect anything to move in the crates. "Do you suppose that thing might be scared of me?" One sexy red haired young woman asked in a thick German accent as she walked inside the warehouse. "That's quite a bit of smuggling you have here, nicht wahr? However, it wouldn't have been worth hunted for if it weren't!" The German red head said to the Mafia leader. "Yeah, and who are you?" The Mafioso asked suspiciously. "I am a Juwel Hexen, dummkompf!" The lady revealed as she lifted her arm and put a green jewel onto a jewel hand bracelet which started glowing. "Hexen die Juwel!" The woman said and shouted out "Laden!" "Spirit I command you to now take form!" She summoned to what appeared to be a ghostly saber toothed tiger monster. A few hours later, Rosette, Chrono and Azmaria went to the warehouse to catch the demon that had just escaped from the warehouse. "It looks like we're here Chrono." Rosette concluded by looking at the warehouse. "Are you sure Rosette?" Chrono asked. "I am positive. This is where they said the transaction happened." Rosette said confidently. "Alright then, let's get a move on!" Chrono said and all three of them exited the car and made their way towards the warehouse. When Rosette opened the door, they saw that the warehouse was completely empty, much to their surprise. "It's not here." Rosette said in a disappointed tone as they saw only a meowing cat in the building. "Rosette, are you really sure that this is the right warehouse?" Chrono asked in doubt. "That's strange. I could have sworn that this was the place where they said this all happened." Rosette said in a confused tone as she walked inside the warehouse "What's wrong Azmaria?" Chrono asked as he saw that Azmaria began shivering. "It's nothing Chrono." Azmaria said in a weak tone. "Just focus on your job and you'll be fine!" Chrono said softly to Azmaria. "Well, I'll try!" Azmaria said. "Well isn't this a drag. We came all the way fired up to fight bad guys and now it appears that someone had already finished the job before us. Goddamn it, this is so unfair!" Rosette ranted in a disappointed and somewhat frustrated tone. All of a sudden, another warehouse close by was set on fire, much to the trio's wonder. "How did this happen? It was just one block over." Chrono said as he was puzzled at what caused the building to be on fire. "Alright, let's get going!" Rosette demanded and all three of them then began to run their way towards the burning warehouse. "This is my first mission, so I have to do my best!" Azmaria said in her head as she was carrying the barrier crucifixes and the holy water while running. Just then, something abruptly showed up in front of her, which made her scream and she fell down on the ground. When Azmaria turned around, she saw a large, gray demon with four arms, a thick body and teeth as sharp as machetes. The demon started roaring and Azmaria screamed again out of fright. As the demon was charging towards her, a mysterious woman grabbed Azmaria just as the demon smashed Rosette's car. "Are you hurt liebekind?" The red haired jewel witch asked once they landed on the ground in one piece. "No miss, I am fine!" Azmaria replied shyly. "That's good to hear. Now stand back while I deal with this beast!" The jewel witch said as she pulled Azmaria aside. "What are you talking about?" Azmaria asked the lady. "Who would have thought that a small child would have attracted such a large demon?" The woman said to herself confidently as she was sure that she would be able to finish it off. The woman grabbed a jewel from her pocket, placed it on her bracelet and shouted out "Laden!" "Spirit I command you to now take form!" The jewel witch called out as she activated her bracelet which summoned a huge, ghostly knight in armor. "Tear him apart, like the glimmer that twinkles in the new greenery!" The lady commanded as the demon roared again. "Mutigster, Erloschen!" The jewel witch shouted out and by moving her jewel bracelet, her spirit knight used its sword to stab the demon. As the demon was roaring in pain, it then went on fire and the jewel witch looked at the burning demon with satisfaction on her face. "Wow, a Jewel Summoner!" Rosette said in amazement as all three of them saw what the jewel witch had done. "Hey lady, who the hell are you?" Rosette shouted at the red haired jewel witch. "So you must be from the Magdalene Order." The woman said as she turned herself around facing Rosette. Suddenly, they heard some kind of an explosion took place which took them by surprise. "The warehouse!" Rosette said as they saw that the building had exploded in half. Shortly after the explosion, two gray zombies that vaguely looked like mummies came outside the warehouse roaring and made their way towards them. "Now all hell breaks loose." The jewel witch said as she realized that they were not out of the woods just yet. As more zombies exited the warehouse, Rosette began to shoot at them with her gun while the jewel witch positioned her right arm out as her spirit knight did the same. "Azmaria, set up the barrier." Rosette instructed her. "Yes Rosette." Azmaria said and went to set up the crucifix barrier. "It appears that we have no other choice but to eliminate them together. So let's hurry up and clean this mess quickly!" The lady said with determination as the demons continued walking towards them. "By the way, my name is Rosette Christopher. And you are?" Rosette introduced herself to the jewel witch. "Meine name is Satella Harvenheit." Satella revealed her name as Chrono opened the weapon backpack. "Alright, let's get started!" Rosette said as she grabbed two guns from the backpack and began shooting at the demons. "Erloschen!" Satella called out and her spirit knight cut several demons in half with its sword. "Azmaria, behind you!" Chrono said as he tried to warn Azmaria of a four headed tall slug like demon that charged towards her just as she was setting up the barrier. Azmaria began to scream again and the demon grabbed her before she could do anything. Rosette heard Azmaria screaming and turned her head around, only to see that the four headed demon caught her. "Chrono, transform into your demonic form and retrieve Azmaria!" Rosette commanded him. "Yes, but only briefly!" Chrono agreed and Rosette once again allowed her seal watch to open briefly. While Chrono was transforming, Satella looked over and began to look at him suspiciously. After Chrono was done transforming into his demonic form, he then flew towards the slug like demon. He turned his arm into a sword and chopped off its arms which caused the demon to fall onto the ground. As Azmaria began to fall, Chrono quickly flew towards her and managed to catch her in one piece. "Are you alright Azmaria?" Chrono asked as he reached the ground. "Yes, thank you Chrono!" Azmaria thanked him. "That boy! Could he be?" Satella asked herself as she realized that Chrono was a demon. "Rosette, the time is up!" Chrono called out towards Rosette and she then locked the seal watch. Once Chrono went back into his child form, Rosette continued shooting the mummy like zombies. Satella positioned her knight spirit to eliminate the sluggish demon by cutting it in half, causing it to burn once again. After all the zombies and the demon were eliminated, Chrono saw a piece of ripped paper on the ground and picked it up out of curiosity. "It appears that the smugglers had bought some time so they could run off by releasing their goods." Chrono explained to Azmaria as he was looking at the paper. Just then, Satella's spirit knight phased out, much to her surprise. "I can't believe that the stone has already run out at a time like this!" Satella remarked in disbelief as she saw that her jewel had ran out of energy which caused her spirit knight to phase out. "Ahhhhh, the car is completely smashed! That's just great, how are we ever going to get back to the Order?" Rosette screamed in shock as she saw that the car was completely damaged. "Oh calm down Sister hothead! It's just some demolished pile of scrap. Besides, a little walk never hurt anyone!" Satella teasingly said. "What did you just call me?" Rosette angrily exploded. "Anyways, I don't want to continue wasting my time with people from the likes of you. So I best be on my way!" Satella calmly said and walked her way from the trio. "But before I leave, there is something I would like to tell you, boy." The jewel summoner said and walked over towards Chrono. As Satella was walking towards him, Chrono started becoming nervous as he did not know what she wanted from him. "My, you're a cute little boy, aren't you?" Satella said to Chrono in a motherly tone as she touched his chin. Rosette became jealous at what she was seeing and she charged towards Satella. "Alright, that's enough!" Rosette jealously said as she forcefully moved Satella away from Chrono. "I don't believe you. How can you be so possessive?" Satella asked agitatedly as she was put off by Rosette's possessive behavior. "For your information, Chrono is my contractor. As long as I am his contractor, no one can lay a finger on him! Got that?!" Rosette strongly stated. "My God, you really are a nuisance!" Satella lashed at her. "In any case, just make sure you clean up that scrap of yours, okay! See you later Sister hothead!" Satella said to Rosette as she walked her way from the warehouse while the trio looked at her with amazement, still puzzled of who she is. Several minutes later, several Militia members came to the warehouse to see if everything was alright. "Satella Harvenheit, a bounty hunter who specializes in demons. She is also known as the jewel witch and makes no distinction between any of the demon factions." Azmaria said as she read from a profile book. "Yes Ma'am, that's right. I am so sorry! When we return, I'll be sure to." Rosette said to Sister Kate apologetically as she was telling her about the results over on the phone. After she was done talking to the headmistress, she put the phone down and kneeled down in disappointment. "So what did Sister Kate say?" Chrono asked. "She said to continue the mission on foot." Rosette said disappointedly. "Why do these things always happen to me?!" Rosette yelled and began hitting Chrono as a way to vent out her frustration. Later that night while Satella was taking a shower, a terrifying thought went through her mind. "That boy? Could he be the one, the hornless demon that killed my family?" Satella asked herself. She recalled vaguely on how the demon looked like and he looked an awful lot like Chrono only taller and stronger. She then recalled the time when the demon came and slaughtered her family and how she was crying out of despair while holding a dead family member. As she was remembering all of this, Satella bitterly concluded that Chrono must have been the demon that killed her family. Meanwhile, the Mafioso that Satella had confronted earlier was in a dark alley where he and one worker of his got out of a truck that contained a crate inside. "Damn it, the whole warehouse district has been sealed off and the police are everywhere." The man said angrily as he opened the truck door from the back. "Wait a second boss, what are you doing?" The Mafioso's worker asked nervously. "Shut up, I won't allow that bitch to mess everything up and get away! That woman ruined our business, and for that I'll show her the way to hell!" The Mafioso smuggler said angrily as he was tearing off the tapes around the opening of the crate. Once he opened the crate, a demon right away charged towards the two men and attacked them vigorously as they were screaming for their lives.

The next morning, the trio as well as a fair number of Militia members went to the alley where the demon attack happened. They witnessed lots of blood everywhere as well as the truck being positioned sideways. "Oh my God!" Rosette commented as she was terrified to see what just happened. "It's best not to look." Rosette said to Azmaria gently while she came closer to her since she was afraid of the sight of blood. "I can still sense the demon's desire to devour all life forms. It might as well be that of the dead." Chrono explained as he could see that some demon smugglers have been eaten by a gluttonous type of demon. "You sure have a lot of knowledge about your own kind!" Satella remarked to Chrono in an impressed tone. "Hey, you're that jewel witch from last night! So what do you want this time?" Rosette asked seriously as she walked towards her. "Isn't it obvious? I came after the smugglers. It is my job after all!" Satella said as she revealed her intentions. "So you have been up all night too?" Rosette asked curiously. "No, I wouldn't dream of wasting my time so inefficiently. Once I got the general information, I went back to my home and took a nice, long shower to refresh myself!" Satella haughtily said as she moved her long red hair. "Meanwhile we have been out walking around all night!" Rosette said in an aggravated tone. "That means the danger is still being spread unchecked. This is becoming quite a nuisance." Satella concluded. "Who is to blame for all of this? Didn't you say that you were going to find the smugglers?" Rosette asked. "I did find them and their corpses! Although scattered pieces would be more accurate." Satella revealed. "Did the smugglers released more of them last night, or did they escape by breaking the seals themselves?" Rosette asked out of curiosity. "It's the same to me either way. Thanks to this, I am at a big loss." Satella said disappointedly. "How can you say something like that?" Rosette asked sternly. "I am not compensated for dead bodies. Besides, not all of us work for charity like you do." Satella stated smugly. "Hey, we put our lives on the line too you know!" Rosette angrily said. "Calm down Rosette, it can't be helped." Chrono said as he tried to calm her down. "Why are you exactly here if I may ask? You're not getting paid for this, are you?" Chrono asked Satella. "It's what I do! Once I have taken on a job, I commit myself to finish it to the bitter end, come hell or high water!" Satella explained with great determination. "Speaking of work, could all of you three come with me?" Satella surprisingly offered. "What for?" Rosette asked as she didn't expect Satella to be asking them for anything. "To find the demon that's on the loose of course!" Satella answered optimistically. Rosette then thought of what to do as she didn't know if coming with Satella to find the demon was a good idea. "Alright, since you are pretty much working for the same goal as we are, we accept your offer!" Rosette agreed and took her hand so Satella could shake her hand as a sign of agreement. "Don't jump to conclusions Sister hothead. I am only doing this so I can catch up to the demon as fast as I can! Other than that, I would never dream of teaming up with someone as crude like you!" Satella answered haughtily. "Is that how you repay an agreement?" Rosette asked crossly. "We better get moving! The sooner we catch that fiend, the better!" Satella said as she ignored what Rosette said and started walking ahead. "I guess we don't have much of a choice, do we?" Rosette asked dissatisfied as she turned her head towards Chrono and Azmaria. "Well, she did offer us to come with her and you did agree to this after all." Chrono stated. "I guess you're right Chrono! We've made an agreement with this Jewel Summoner. So I guess we might as well come with her!" Rosette sighed and all three of them than ran their way to catch up with Satella. Satella had led the trio to Central Park, much to their surprise. "So, why did you lead us here Miss Satella?" Azmaria asked out of curiosity. "I have a feeling that the demon must be lurking around here somewhere!" Satella explained. "Why would a demon be lurking around in this particular place?" Azmaria asked in doubt. "This type of demon is a very unpredictable one. It could be anywhere. Not to mention that it's very gluttonous in nature, which makes it all the more reason why I brought you here!" Satella said as she tried to justify her reasoning. "I smell something really yummy!" Rosette said while she smelled something in the air. "A hot dog stand!" Rosette said excitedly once she turned her head around. "Alright, finally something to eat!" Chrono said with joy as they all were very hungry. "Chrono, make sure that he puts extra ketchup and mustard on mine, you got that?!" Rosette demanded while Chrono walked towards the stand. "Please tell him not to put any mustard on mine. Otherwise I won't be able to stop hiccupping." Azmaria asked politely. Satella sat on a bench and looked at the three of them getting their hot dogs. Just then, Chrono offered a hot dog to Satella. "Here you go. It's more delicious when we eat together!" Chrono said gently as he placed the hot dog on Satella's hands. Satella was astounded that a demon was very kind towards her as she never expected such behavior to be coming from one. While she was seeing all three of them eating away, she then took a bite from her hot dog. "What kind of food is this?" Satella asked in an unimpressed, disappointed tone. "I can't believe you! Chrono just bought you a hot dog and this is how you thank him?" Rosette asked angrily. "The bread is dry. The vegetables are old, and most of all it's not even a good wurst." Satella stated disappointedly. "What do you mean by wurst?" Chrono asked curiously as he could tell that it was not an English word. "That means sausage in German, right? So you must be from Germany!" Azmaria exclaimed. "You're very observant. I came to America just before the Great War started. It has been ten years now." Satella revealed. "So you have been living in this country for ten years?" Azmaria asked. "Yes, in search of someone. I've searched and searched, and yet for all of these years, I haven't found a single trace yet." Satella explained to the trio. "I am amazed that you haven't given up on it." Rosette commented while she was eating her hot dog. "What's that suppose to mean?" Satella asked frustrated. "If you just keep feeling sorry for yourself like that, you won't be able to find a clue even if it's right in front of you. I think that's probably the reason why your search has taken you for about a decade. I am really wondering how you are not getting tired of all this." Rosette bluntly said as she was eating with her mouth full and Chrono then placed his hand on her head. "You have said enough Rosette. We both know how hard it is to be searching for someone year after year." Chrono said softly as he knew what Satella was feeling. Satella tried holding back her tears as the subject was very hard for her to deal with. Just as Rosette was looking at Satella trying to repress her feelings, a ball all of a sudden hit Rosette in the face which knocked her out of the bench. "Goodness gracious, are you alright Rosette?" Azmaria panicked as both she and Chrono were looking at Rosette with a shocked look on their faces. "We are so sorry!" One boy said as he and a group of other boys ran towards Rosette. Rosette got herself up from the ground and looked at the boys angrily. "Alright you damn hooligans! You have really pissed me off and for that I am going to teach you a little lesson!" Rosette angrily fumed and the boys ran away from her out of fright. "Come back here you brats! Let me teach you how to throw a ball!" Rosette yelled at the boys as she ran after them with their ball in her hand. As Rosette was teaching the boys on how to kick the ball properly, Chrono approached Satella. "I am sorry for what Rosette had said, and I know that she is sorry deep down as well. To tell you the truth, the two of us have been searching for her younger brother, so we understand how you feel! When a person can only focus on one goal, then that's proof that their dreams are strong! I hope you can find that person soon!" Chrono told Satella in a very sweet, gentle tone. "I can't believe it. A demon actually saying such sweet words? Could I be wrong? Is it not him?" Satella thought to herself. "No, I am not looking for a person. I am looking for a demon!" Satella bitterly revealed. "It's true that a demon's horns are organs for absorbing Astral energy, am I right?" Satella asked. "Normally, there aren't demons without their horns." Azmaria said. "That demon from ten years ago burned my house, killed my family and took everything from me! 'The hornless demon,' you are the target of my revenge!" Satella concluded angrily to Chrono. Rosette just finished teaching the boys how to play with the ball when one of the boys said "Sister, teach us more!" "Sorry boys, but I have to get going now. Bye!" Rosette said as she waved them goodbye. When Rosette turned around and faced towards the bench, she saw that Chrono, Azmaria and Satella were not there, much to her confusion. "That's strange. I could have sworn they were here just a few minutes ago." Rosette said to herself as she was wondering about their whereabouts.

In the meantime, the trio became trapped inside what on the outside resembled a mummy coffin. "Where are we? We were just at the park." Azmaria stated in a confused tone as she realized that they were trapped into some kind of dimension. "It seems that we have been trapped by someone." Chrono said as they were seeing mummy like zombies all around them while they were standing on some kind of altar. "I see, now I get it. This must be revenge from the smugglers. They're the ones who schemed all of this." Satella said as she had a hunch that this was part of the smugglers doing. "This is the Nameless Pharaoh's Tomb. The Pharaoh that was assassinated. However, due to his act of abusing the sealed curse, he was regenerated along with his evil consciousness. At least that's what the report from the British Museum says." Satella explained. "So these zombies are mummies?" Azmaria asked. "That's right. This is the result of the curse and his servants of the undead. I must say, it's pretty disgusting how he transformed them." Satella explained further as she expressed her disgust about the mummy zombies. The trio saw the undead Pharaoh sitting on a throne with two coffins placed by the throne as well as walls that were carved with hieroglyphics. The undead Pharaoh then commanded his zombie servants to charge towards the trio and to attack them. "Alright, it appears that we have no other choice but to fight them." Satella said confidently as she pulled out one of her jewels and placed them on the bracelet. "Laden!" Satella called out but no spirit monster of hers showed itself, much to her surprise. "What, how is this possible? I can't summon?" Satella asked curiously as she didn't know what caused her spirit monster to not appear. "It may be caused by his field. This dimension blocks everything from the outside." Chrono explained to Satella. Just then, one of the zombies knocked Chrono out with its gigantic hand and placed its foot on top of him. Azmaria and Satella had a horrified look on their faces. "Nooooooo!" Satella cried out. Once the zombie lift its foot off of Chrono, he then slowly got himself up which surprised Azmaria and Satella, as they thought that he was unconscious. After Chrono got up, his upper face was heavily bruised and blood was also dripping down from his face. He looked as if he had gone wild. Chrono saw all of the mummy zombies around him. They roared and began to charge towards him while carrying saber swords. Just then, Chrono spotted the same type of sword on the ground, picked it up and he ran his way through the chamber dismembering the mummy zombie's bodies with the sword. "My God, this battle is unbelievable. I guess this proves that he really is a demon!" Satella commented as she and Azmaria were seeing Chrono slicing the zombies up. Satella all of a sudden pushed Azmaria down to the ground as she saw that one of the zombies was charging towards her. As Chrono heard Azmaria yell he then saw one of the zombies zooming towards the two of them. Chrono rushed his way in front of them and as he was aiming his sword towards the beast, the zombie directed its saber sword like hands towards Chrono's arm and his stomach. As the creature did that, huge amounts of blood came out of his body like that of a river while Chrono succeeded in stabbing the zombie through its head and then pulled his sword out. "I'm sorry that I scared you. Rosette is going to be quite angry." Chrono apologized in a weak tone. "Chrono, thank goodness you're back to normal!" Azmaria said with relief. "Why did you save me? I said you were my target for revenge, and I can see that now you are all injured." Satella asked Chrono as she was confused as to why he bothered saving her even when he was a target for her revenge. "This is nothing since I'm not human. Besides, you saved Azmaria." Chrono said softly and he began to slowly stand up from the ground. "I'm tired of seeing others die in front of me and not being able to do something about it!" Chrono said frustrated as he became fed up with the possibility of seeing someone dearly to him dying. "I don't know now. What is the truth? That boy, he is very different from him." Satella thought to herself as she was emotionally remembering how the demon looked like as well as when Chrono offered her a hot dog in the park earlier as a form of kindness. "Damn it! If only there was something we could do about the field." Chrono frustratingly said as he realized that there were too many zombies for them to handle. Suddenly, Chrono heard a bullet shot from somewhere and he wondered where it came from. "Yes, I have finally found you!" Rosette said once she shot towards the Pharaoh shaped coffin which was located in the park's forest. "Yes, the field is finally breaking! Now I can summon my juwel monster!" Satella said excitedly as the trio saw the cracks on the ceiling of the chamber. The undead Pharaoh however was angry at what he was witnessing. He then transformed himself into a much larger, ferocious version of himself while roaring, much to Azmaria's fright. "Erschenie! Ritter Juwel!" Satella called out as she placed her jewel on her bracelet. Satella's knight ghost appeared out of the jewel once again and it chopped off the undead Pharaoh's hand with its sword. "It's tougher than what we have faced yesterday!" Satella commented as a strong gust of wind swept around the chamber. "Rosette, can you hear me? Finish it off!" Chrono called out to Rosette. "Huh, where are you?" Rosette asked as she looked around her surroundings. "There. Hurry up, I can't hold on much longer." Chrono said as he was contacting Rosette. "But I'm out of ammo and I haven't re-supplied yet." Rosette said. Rosette looked at her pocket seal watch and as she was looking at it, she realized that Chrono was using some of his powers to try to hold off the mummified Pharaoh. Chrono pointed out his arm straight towards the Pharaoh and began to use even more of his time powers. "I pity you for being awakened by human circumstance. I'll make sure you are at peace right now!" Chrono said to the mummy Pharaoh. The mummy Pharaoh's body suddenly began to disintegrate and the undead Pharaoh was roaring out of pain. Once the Pharaoh's body had completely disintegrated into skeleton bones, the chamber cracked open. The ground as well as the trees that were around the coffin got totally obliterated, as if a bomb hit it. "Chrono, what was that monster? What the heck happened to you?" Rosette yelled out worriedly as she was running towards the trio. "Well you see, I just used some of my powers so I could help finish off the mummy Pharaoh that somehow trapped us in that coffin." Chrono explained as he was telling Rosette everything about what they have just been through. "Geeze, talk about bad luck." Rosette commented as she looked at her pocket seal watch. "What incredible powers he has! So that is his true form!" Satella thought as she was amazed with the powers Chrono had used. She then directed her spirit knight who pointed its sword towards Chrono as Satella looked at him sternly. "Tell me now, were you the demon from ten years ago?" Satella asked him seriously. "I was asleep, deep within a tomb for fifty years." Chrono answered slowly. "Chrono woke up four years ago. I was the one who had awoken him. So if it was ten years ago that a demon murdered your family, then you've got the wrong guy." Rosette explained as she tried to tell her that Chrono was not the demon that she was looking for. "You believe in him?" Satella asked curiously. "Yes, of course I do!" Rosette said passionately as she placed her hand on Chrono's head. Satella then allowed her knight ghost to return back to the jewel and she looked at Chrono with a bit of relief on her face. "In that case, I guess I am back to where I started." Satella said gladly and disappointed at the same time. It was now obvious that Satella had finally made peace with Chrono!

Meanwhile at the Order of Magdalene, Father Remington and Sister Kate were in the dining room. Sister Kate showed him the files of the Mafioso who was responsible for smuggling demons at the New York City harbor. "So this was the previous New York City incident?" The minister asked. "Yes, he was the client of the smugglers who were annihilated. It appears that he was the same demon tamer that the Militia dealt with in Chicago." Sister Kate explained. "The gang's accountant I see?" Father Remington commented. "According to the report, it seems that they were going to use it as a soldier for the family." Sister Kate explained further as she was drinking her tea. "I wish that they didn't bring their troubles on us. They are already overwhelming for humans to handle." The minister remarked. "Besides, they should behave themselves." Father Remington said and just then two teenage nuns were ogling at the minister excitingly. Father Remington turned his head around and smiled at the girls flirtatiously while slightly waving at them, much to the two nun's joy. "Oh my God, Father Remington is looking at us!" The two nuns said excitedly. As Sister Kate was seeing Father Remington flirting with the nuns, she slammed her tea cup onto the table in front of him, much to his surprise. "As should you Minister Remington!" Sister Kate said to the minister crossly. "Yes, I'll behave!" Father Remington said in an intimidated tone. "I guess this means that this case is closed! Hopefully!" The minister said with relief. "There might still be other demon tamers taking part in this mess." Sister Kate reminded the minister. "Right, I'll go and investigate. Goodness, you sure make me work a lot." Father Remington said with slight disappointment. The minister walked out of the room and began thinking to himself as he was walking across a hall that was filled with different portraits. "The demons are using the smuggling network to get into this nation. This is a really big problem. Ever since the Great War, the 'evil' has greatly increased in this country. What will happen further on was probably obvious to you. Isn't that right, Mary Magdalene?" Father Remington asked as he was talking to the portrait of a beautiful blonde haired young woman. It was obvious that the minister had some kind of ties to that particular woman.
