Hey, guys. Here is Chapter 8 of Multiverse Odessey. This was one of my tougher chapters but I hope I did a good job on it.
Now let's get to it.
Chapter 08: Brighter Flames and Sturdier Iron
Natsu and Wendy vs Ultear and Meredy
"I am the Fire Ignis, Flame." Flame looked at Natsu.
"Ew a bug." Natsu squashed Flame like a normal person would squish a bug.
"I'm not a bug you pitiful Dragon Slayer." Flame emerged between Natsu's fingers.
"Who are you calling a pitiful Dragon Slayer?!" Natsu got mad. "Wait, how did you know I was a Dragon Slayer?"
"I'm an AI, I have more knowledge than you or any human can ever possess. And just by looking at you, you probably can't even read even the simplest of words. Which is true since you completely bombed your first turn." Flame insulted.
"I didn't know the rules of this game? Anyone could make a mistake like that." Natsu said.
"And now you're easily falling prey to your opponent's words and giving in to your anger." Flame added. "Flames powered by anger are not true flames!"
"Huh?" Natsu was confused. "What are you talking about? My flames are stronger when I'm angry. If anything, it's how I've always won my fights. I used my anger against the enemies that hurt my guild."
"Fire is more than just destruction." Flame said. "Let me show you." Flame extended his arm and touched Natsu's forehead, making Natsu's eyes widen.
Natsu saw fire all over him, but they were all in different colors. What's more none of the flames were destroying anything around him. "Natsu, listen to me." Flame spoke. "Fire is more than just destruction. It's life, knowledge and is limitless to the imagination. But it's only able to be that depending on the user. Right now, you can't just think about destroying your enemies, you have to think about helping your partner and becoming a better person."
"A better person. But I fight for my guild, isn't that enough?" Natsu asked.
"Your loyalty cannot be restricted to just your guild. Grimoire Heart is not just an enemy of Fairy Tail, it's an enemy to the world. In other words, your loyalty should be to the world, not your guild. Accept that and let the flames within you become enlightened." Flame advised.
"Be loyal to the world, let the flames enlighten me…" Natsu repeated. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The flames then consumed him, but Natsu didn't feel pain, he felt knowledge.
Natsu/Wendy LP: 2100, (Natsu Hand: 4, Wendy Hand: 1)
Natsu's field: No Cards.
Wendy's Field: Field Magic: Divine Wind of Mist Valley
Ultear/Meredy LP: 8000, (Ultear Hand: 3, Meredy Hand: 1)
Ultear's Field: Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier (ATK: 2000, LV: 6), Wayne, Tiger General of the Ice Barrier (ATK: 2100, LV: 5)
Meredy's Field: Rapid-Fire Magician (ATK: 1600, LV: 4), Continuous Magic: Torture Room of Nightmare, Continuous Magic: Cauldron of the Old Man
Natsu opened his eyes and he found himself back in the Duel. He looked at Flame, who nodded. "My turn! Draw!" Natsu drew his card. He looked at and the rest of his hand. "I know what to do."
"I summon Salamangreat Falco (ATK: 1200, LV: 4)!" Natsu summoned a Fire monster.
"A Fire Monster, as expected." Meredy said.
"However, it is no match for our monsters." Ultear said.
Natsu raised his hand. "Appear! The circuit that gets me all fired up!" A circuit appeared above Natsu. "The summoning conditions is one Level 4 or lower Cyberse!" Salamangreat Falco went into the circuit. "Link Summon! Appear! Link 1! Salamangreat Balelynx (ATK: 500, LNK: 1)!" Natsu summoned a Link monster.
"Whoa cool!" Happy was amazed.
"But that monster is weaker." Carla noticed.
"Balelynx's effect activates! When it's Link Summoned, I can add the Field Magic: Salamangreat Sanctuary from my deck to my hand!" Natsu added the Field Magic to his hand. "Then, on the turn that I Link Summon, I can activate Salamangreat Mole's effect from my hand! I can Special Summon it to my Link Monster's Link! Come! Salamangreat Mole (DEF: 0, LV: 1)!" Natsu summoned another Salamangreat monster.
"I'm getting more fired up!" Natsu summoned the circuit again. "The summoning conditions are two Fire Effect monsters!" Natsu's two monsters went into the markers. "Links Summon! Appear! Link 2! Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf (ATK: 1800, LNK: 2)!" Natsu summoned a more powerful Link monster.
"What ana amazing combo." Lily commented.
"I activate Salamangreat Fowl's effect from my hand! When a different Salamangreat is summoned or Special Summoned, I can Special Summon Salamangreat Fowl (ATK: 1800, LV: 4)!" Natsu Special Summoned again.
"He's bringing out stronger monsters." Meredy sweated.
"Don't worry, they're not strong enough." Ultear said.
"How did Natsu get so good all of a sudden?" Zeref looked at Natsu. "He's Dueling like an expert now." Zeref tried to look but couldn't see anything that helped Natsu.
"You can't see me, Black Wizard. But I can see you. You and your lowlife friends will pay for what you did to the United World." Flame thought as he glared at Zeref.
"I activate Sunlight Wolf's effect! When a monster is summoned or Special Summoned next to this card's link, I can return a Salamangreat card from my Graveyard to my hand!" Natsu took a card from his Graveyard. "I choose Salamangreat Falco."
"Appear again! Circuit that keeps me fired up!" The circuit appeared once more. "The summoning conditions are at least two Fire Effect monsters!" Wolf split into two of the arrows while Falco went to another one. "Link Summon! Appear! Link 3! Salamangreat Heatleo (ATK: 2300, LNK: 3)!" Natsu summoned a stronger monster.
"Alright, Natsu!" Wendy smiled.
"2300 Attack Points?!" Ultear gasped. "It's stronger than Wayne!"
"I activate Heatleo's effect! When this card is Link Summoned, I can return one card in the opponent's Magic or Trap Zone back to their deck! I return your Cauldron of the Old Man! Resounding Roar!" Natsu pointed to Meredy and she returned the card to her deck.
"I activate the Field Magic: Salamangreat Sanctuary! This card allows me to use a Salamangreat Link monster as material to Link Summon a monster with the same name from my Extra Deck! Reincarnation Link Summon! Appear! Link 3! Salamangreat Heatleo (ATK: 2300, LNK: 3)!" Natsu summoned Heatleo again.
"Heatleo's effect! Resounding Roar! Return Torture Room of Nightmare!" Natsu ordered and Meredy did what she was told. "Not only that, Heatleo has another effect! If it's summoned using Heatleo as material, once per turn, I can select one monster on the field and one monster in my Graveyard, the monster I choose will have the same Attack Points as the monster in my Graveyard!"
"Oh no!" Ultear panicked.
"I choose Salamangreat Mole in my Graveyard, which has 0 Attack Points! And the monster whose Attack Points are decreased is your Synchro Monster Dewloren! Flame Possession!" Natsu pointed to Ultear's Synchro Monster who lost its power.
Dewloren (ATK: 2000→0)
"I'm still not done! I activate the Equip Magic: Salamangreat Claw!" Heatleo gained powerful claws on his arms. "And another Equip Magic: Salamangreat Fang!" Heatleo gained powerful fangs as well.
"Salamangreat Fang's effect let's Heatleo gain Attack Points equal to the Link Rating of all Link monsters I control times 300! Since it's only Heatleo and his Link is 3, he gains 900 extra Attack Points!" Heatleo roared as he gained power.
Heatleo (ATK: 2300→3200)
"Go, Natsu! Show them true fire!" Flame encouraged.
"Yeah! Heatleo, attack Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier! Heat Soul!" Heatleo struck burned Dewloren, damaging both Ultear and Meredy.
Ultear/Meredy LP: 8000→4800
"Ultear!" Meredy cried out.
"It's fine, we're still in this Duel." Ultear said.
"Are you sure about that?" Natsu smirked.
"Of course. You're only allowed to attack once with a monster." Ultear shouted.
"Salamangreat Fang's effect! If the equipped monster was a Salamangreat Link monster that was Link Summoned using a monster with the same name as material, when it destroys a monster in battle, the opponent takes damage equal to half of the destroyed monster's original Attack Points!" Natsu revealed. Heatleo burned both Ultear and Meredy.
Ultear/Meredy LP: 4800→3800
"Also, Salamangreat Claw's additional effect when a Salamangreat Link Monster is Reincarnation Link Summoned, it can attack for as many times as its Link Rating! Salamangreat Heatleo is Link 3, so it can attack two more times!" Natsu held up two fingers. This made both Ultear and Meredy panic.
"Heatleo, attack Wayne! Heat Soul!" Heatleo destroyed Wayne next and damaged the two females of Grimoire Heart.
Ultear/Meredy LP: 3800→3600
"Salamangreat Fang's effect! You take damage equal to half of Wayne's original Attack Points!" Natsu shouted, making Ultear and Meredy burn in flames.
Ultear/Meredy LP: 3600→2550
"I've got one more attack! Go! Heatleo, attack Rapid-Fire Magician! Heat Soul!" Heatleo destroyed Rapid-Fire Magician.
Ultear/Meredy LP: 2550→1850
"And here's Salamangreat Fang's effect!" Ultear and Meredy screamed as they were both heavily damaged.
Ultear/Meredy LP: 1850→1050
"With this, I end my turn." Natsu finished his turn.
"Way to go, Natsu!" Happy cheered.
"He instantly turned the tide of the battle." Lily commented.
"But how did he do it so easily? It doesn't make sense." Carla, like Zeref, couldn't see Flame on Natsu's Duel Disk.
"Natsu…" Wendy looked at her friend with joy.
"Wendy, I'm sorry for what happened to you. Hope this makes up for it." Natsu apologized.
"It's fine. I still owe you for when you helped me." Wendy recalled their earlier adventures.
"You can pay me back by winning on your turn." Natsu smiled.
Natsu/Wendy LP: 2100 (Natsu Hand: 1, Wendy Hand: 1)
Ultear/Meredy LP: 1050 (Ultear Hand: 3, Meredy Hand: 1)
"Don't think you can win. My turn! Draw!" Meredy drew her card but her eyes widened. "I…I can't use any of my cards…there's nothing I can do…"
"Meredy?" Ultear looked at her partner.
"No, there is something I can do. For Ultear." Meredy's wrist glowed and soon, Natsu, Wendy, Happy and Carla's wrists glowed as well.
"What?" Happy looked at his wrist.
"With this, our senses have been merged. Whatever I feel you and your little cats feel as well. "You win this Duel, then you will also be taken out." Meredy said.
"That's cheating!" Happy argued.
"I don't care what it is!" Meredy shouted. "As long as Ultear goes to the Grand Magic World, I'm more than willing to give up everything!"
"Meredy…" Ultear muttered.
"Those two couldn't win in the end. I could interfere and kill them both, but…" Zeref looked between the opposing teams.
"She's willing to die for her teammate. She's serious." Wendy could feel Meredy's determination.
Natsu looked at Meredy as her actions made him recall Yuya's words when he defeated Erza. "So quit speaking like bonds is exclusive only to Fairy Tail…"
"Hey…how did you two meet?" Natsu asked. Natsu's questioned made all of them confused.
"Why would you ask such a question? We're enemies!" Meredy asked.
"Seriously, I want to know." Natsu had a serious expression, showing that he wasn't gonna back down.
"His flames…" Ultear noticed Natsu's flames changed. His flames were still hot but they didn't want to cause harm. In fact, they were searching for answers.
"Very well, I'll tell you." Ultear answered.
"Ultear?" Meredy was surprised that Ultear answered.
"But before I can tell you about us, I have to tell you about me." Ultear said. "My name is Ultear Milkovich and I'm the daughter of Ur."
"Ur…wait, isn't that the name of Gray's master. You're her daughter?" Natsu asked.
"I am." Ultear confirmed.
"Does Gray know about you?" Wendy asked.
"No, he isn't aware of who I am." Ultear shook her head. "And I doubt my mother told him about me."
"I was born with too much magic power. I would constantly get sick and my mother feared that I was heading for a premature death. She took me to the Bureau of Magical Development to find a way to cure me. But all they did was conduct experiments on me. I cried for so many days for her to come back, but she never did. I was tired of being used, so I escaped the facility only to find her with Gray and Lyon." Ultear answered.
"You felt abandoned and replaced." Natsu said.
"Would you feel the same if Igneel took in another child and he was happy?" Ultear asked.
"Yeah…I would." Natsu admitted.
"I went back to the Bureau and let them continue to experiment on me. I wanted to be stronger so I could kill my mother. My power became too much and I destroyed the Bureau. I eventually learned of Zeref and Grimoire Heart which led me to wanting to achieve the Grand Magic World. It's how I learned my Lost Magic: Arc of Time."
"And this Grand Magic World that you want to create…" Natsu said.
"My life has been nothing but a curse. With the Grand Magic World, I can finally have the power to go back in time and change the past. I can finally be free from my cursed life." Ultear said.
"So, you want to forget everything that's ever happened to you, all the people you've met and the people you've done wrong. Is she one that you want to forget too?" Natsu pointed to Meredy.
"Ultear?" Meredy looked at her mother figure.
"It's better if she forgot me. After all, I was part of the group that destroyed her hometown." Ultear revealed, making Meredy's eyes widen.
"You destroyed my home…" Meredy muttered.
"I assume this was in your quest to locate me, is that right?" Zeref chimed in. "I must admit that Grimoire Heart is more persistent than Tartaros for trying to find me."
"Hey, let me ask you something. And you better answer honestly." Natsu looked at Zeref. "Can you really bring about this Grand Magic World?"
"What do you think, Natsu?" Zeref asked as both of them locked eyes with each other.
"There's no Grand Magic World…you can't create it." Natsu said.
"Correct. The Grand Magic World is nothing but an unobtainable dream." Zeref answered.
"Wh-What?!" Ultear gasped as did Meredy.
"While I am immortal, my magic is still limited. Creating a new world is out of the question even if I possess all forms of magic. Even having the One Magic is impossible to create the Grand Magic World." Zeref explained. "That which you seek can never become reality."
"You wanted them to fail, you wanted them to lose." Natsu realized.
"Grimoire Heart's actions have led to the summoning of Acnologia. They must be eliminated before he arrives, otherwise it is the end of an era. You should actually be thanking me for helping you, Natsu. After all, you want to crush your enemies that hurt your guild." Zeref said.
"Those two put everything on the line for you and you're treating them like tools. If there's an enemy that has to be crushed, it's you." Natsu's anger caused him to erupt in intense flames.
Gajeel vs Jose
Gajeel panted as Jose simply smirked. "Damn it…"
"Looks like you've gone soft, Gajeel. You used to be a more formidable wizard. Now you're as weak as those pathetic Fairy Tail wizards." Jose taunted.
"Did you forget that it was Fairy Tail that defeated you." Gajeel called back.
"No, Makarov defeated me, not Fairy Tail." Jose argued back. "Had the old geezer kicked the bucket, I would've proven my power by killing every single one of them. I almost killed Titania before Makarov intervened."
"You keep underestimating this guild and you're gonna pay the price. I don't know what kind of magic you're using to heal yourself, but that just means that I have to hit you harder and faster until you stay down." Gajeel unleashed some of his magic power.
"The fool has no idea that he's actually helping me." Jose smirked.
"Here I come! Iron Dragon Club!" Gajeel changed his arm into a club and he struck Jose hard in the chest. "Iron Dragon Sword!" Gajeel slashed. "Iron Dragon Lance! Demon Logs!" Gajeel unleashed a barrage of Lances that struck Jose.
"Hahahahaha!" Jose laughed manically as his wounds were all healed up. "Yes, give me more Gajeel!"
"Damn it, that was my fastest moves and still nothing." Gajeel thought.
"Gajeel! Stop!" Gajeel turned to see Levy arrive. "Gajeel, he's using forbidden dark magic."
"Forbidden dark magic?" Gajeel questioned.
"Tch, should know a weakling fairy would figure out my trick." Jose glared at Levy. "But you are right it is forbidden dark magic, because it involves your blood."
"Blood?" Gajeel questioned. "What did you do?"
"After the Magic Council forced me to disband Phantom Lord, I wallowed my sorrows away at a bar popular with Dark Guilds. I was enraged. Sure, I was the first one to make a move in our war, Makarov was the first to strike hard against me, but he gets to keep his stupid guild." Jose roared in anger.
"I could still hear the scorn and disdain from people who see me, the disgraced member of the Wizard Saints. I vowed revenge against Fairy Tail and that was when he appeared. The Master of Grimoire Heart, Hades." Jose said.
"Hades…" Levy muttered.
"Hades offered to help me learn forbidden dark magic to take revenge against you brats. But honestly, I was a bit skeptical of the man. I couldn't trust your kind to help someone like me." Jose said.
"What do you mean your kind?" Levy asked.
"Oh, you don't know. Has Makarov not told you of the previous masters of Fairy Tail?" Jose looked intrigued.
"We only know about the First Master, Mavis Vermillion." Levy said. "Master never told us about his predecessor."
"Well then, allow me to enlighten you. The second master of Fairy Tail and Makarov's predecessor…is Hades himself!" Jose smirked.
"What? Hades was Fairy Tail's second master?" Gajeel's eyes widened.
"His original name was Precht Gaebolg and he was actually one of the founders of the Fairy Tail guild. How ironic that one of Fairy Tail's founders will be the cause of its destruction." Jose smiled.
"Enough of this!" Gajeel was getting angry. "What kind of Dark Magic did that Hades teach you?"
"It's called Blood Link." Jose said. "It allows me to channel wounds that are inflicted to me to a wizard whose blood that I have ingested."
"Blood that you…ingested…" Levy trembled.
"I went back to my ruined guild hall and found traces of blood left over by you Fairy Tail wizards. Unfortunately, I couldn't get everyone's. I couldn't get that Salamander's blood or Lucy Heartfilia's. You beat them Gajeel but you didn't make them bleed, it just proves how soft you are."
"Surprised that a guy like me has some morales." Gajeel said.
"But I never stepped into your guild hall." Levy said.
"I had one of the Elemental 4 to infiltrate the hospital that you were in and took a sample of your blood." Jose revealed. "Now Gajeel, whenever you damage me, you're damaging all the members of Fairy Tail whose blood that I ingested."
"So, that's why he's healing so much. That means no matter what I do, Jose will still be okay. What do I do?" Gajeel wondered.
"Now what are you gonna do Gajeel? Are you gonna keep attacking me?" Jose asked. Gajeel gritted his teeth and he didn't move.
"Gajeel…" Levy looked worried.
"If you won't attack…I will!" Jose's unleashed dark magic aura. Jose pointed his finger out and unleashed a powerful force that made Gajeel fly away.
"Dark Bullets!" Jose fired multiple bullets from his finger tips and they all either pierced Gajeel or scraped his iron skin.
"Damn, the bullets are too strong, I can't reflect them." Gajeel grunted.
"Solid Script: Shine!" The word shine appeared in front of Jose, unleashing a powerful light magic. "I'll use the light to counter your dark magic." Levy said.
"Weak as always." Jose appeared behind Levy and smacked her aside and she hit a tree hard.
"Levy!" Gajeel shouted.
"Oh, now I remember you. You're the one that I chose to make an example of. How about we recreate that scene." Jose said. He created dark chains and he chained Lily to the tree in a crucifixion pose. "Now for the final touch."
"No! Don't do it!" Gajeel cried out.
Jose struck Levy in the stomach, making her scream in pain and the mark of Phantom Lord was etched into her skin. "Ah, good memories." Jose smiled.
"You bastard!" Gajeel's skin became thicker. "I'm gonna kill you!" Gajeel ran full speed at Jose.
"Good, he's lost control. And now it's time for the fall of Fairy Tail." Jose smiled. Jose opened his arms, ready for Gajeel to attack him.
"G-Gajeel…" Levy weakly looked at her partner.
"Every day…I regret what I've done to you and your team." Gajeel thought as he remembered hurting Levy and the rest of Shadow Gear. "I couldn't blame the other members for treating me like the enemy when I joined. I deserved to be treated like scum. But you…you were willing to forgive me…a monster."
"That's why I wanted to help you become an S-Class Wizard. I wanted to be a better person. A person worthy of being your friend. That's why…" Gajeel reached for Jose's stomach.
"Iron Dragon Blood Drain!" Gajeel changed his finger to that of an iron needle and pierced Jose in the stomach. Blood came out and became a part of Gajeel's iron.
"Wh-What are you doing?" Jose was confused.
"Your magic only works if you have ingested the blood of your enemies. So, I'm removing that blood from you." Gajeel grinned.
"Wh-What?! But that's impossible. The bloods are all mixed together with mine! You'll still hurting your teammates!" Jose shouted.
"I'm the Iron Dragon Slayer and there's iron in blood. I can easily figure out which blood is my teammates and extract it out of you." Gajeel revealed.
"But how? There's no way you can sense such large amounts of different blood!" Jose shouted.
"One of the best things about joining Fairy Tail is that there's a bar fight every day. Of course, there's gonna be bloodbath when you fight to be the best." Gajeel then removed the needle and stepped back from Jose.
"No, the magic…" Jose felt the dark magic disappearing within him.
"Look at me you pathetic excuse for a wizard!" Gajeel grabbed Jose by his collar. "I'm no longer your tool for you to use. I'm Gajeel, the Iron Dragon Slayer and I am the best!" Gajeel punched Jose in the jaw.
"This one's for Juvia!" Gajeel struck Jose with an iron club.
"This one's for Mira!" This time was a lance.
"Lisanna!" A hammer.
"Erza!" A club.
"Elfman! Gray! Lucy! Pipsqueak! Salamander!" Gajeel kept changing his weapons and striking Jose.
"And this…is for Levy! Dragon Slayer Secret Art! Karmic Demon: Iron God Lance!" Gajeel formed a long lance and threw it at Jose. It not only struck him, but it sent him flying all the way out of Tenrou Islan and into the stratosphere.
Gajeel panted and his skin returned to normal. "Levy." Gajeel went to where Levy was still crucified and got her down. "Hey, Levy. Are you okay?"
Levy opened her eyes and winced as she held her stomach. "A little hurt but I can walk it off." Levy weakly smiled.
Gajeel looked at the Phantom Lord mark on her stomach. "I'm sorry."
"It's not your fault." Levy answered. "It'll go away in time."
"No, I mean. It just dawned on me that I never actually apologized to you for what I did while I was in Phantom Lord." Gajeel scratched his cheek. "And I've been a shitty partner, you came to help me and I just stood there as he hurt you."
"Hey, Gajeel. Look at me." Levy took Gajeel's face in her hands. "We're in this fight together. There's gonna be some things that we can't control, but I know that no matter what hardships that come our way, we'll overcome it together."
"Right." Gajeel smiled.
"Dude kiss her at least…"
"Shh…"
Gajeel and Levy turned to see some bushes rustling. Levy giggled and wrote the word fire and it burned the bushes to reveal Naruto and Lucy.
"Great job, Naruto. You couldn't keep your mouth shut." Lucy glared at Naruto.
"How is it my fault?!" Naruto exclaimed.
"You were the one talking." Gajeel pointed out.
"Oh, come on, Gajeel! I thought we were bros before hoes!" Naruto shouted.
"Who are you calling hoes?" Lucy took out her whip.
"Gajeel, can you check on Juvia." Levy spoke in a dark tone as she wrote the word sword.
"You dug your own grave there, buddy. See ya." Gajeel walked away.
"No, please! Not again!" Naruto screamed as he was beaten by Lucy and Levy.
Natsu and Wendy vs Ultear and Meredy
"Those are some intense flames…but…" Zeref unleashed a wave of dark magic and it instantly extinguished Natsu's flames.
"Argh." Natsu shielded himself.
"This magic power is too strong!" Wendy screamed as she tried to steady her footing.
"Hold your ground!" Lily yelled at Carla and Happy.
"Ah!" Meredy was being blown away.
"Meredy!" Ultear quickly rushed and grabbed her. She held on to the trunk of a tree but she was losing her grip.
"You fools have brough the end of this era. And now you will pay the price when Acnologia appears." Zeref's magic continued to intensify, destroying everything around the area, including the giant tree.
The tree was becoming hollow and Ultear couldn't hold on forever. "Meredy. I'm really sorry for what I've done." Ultear apologized. "I don't blame you if you hate me or if you never forgive me. But…" Ultear tied Meredy to the tree to anchor her from the shockwave. "I do love you…"
"Ultear…" Meredy started to cry.
"Live your life! Find happiness!" Ultear couldn't hold her ground anymore and she was blown away towards the edge of the island.
"Ultear!" Meredy cried.
Ultear closed her eyes and prepared to fall over the island.
But then, she felt a sharp pull and she opened her eyes to find Yuya holding her by her hand, using his sword to anchor him to the ground. "You…" Ultear's eyes widened.
"Yuya!" Natsu, Wendy, Happy, Lily and Carla cried out.
"Why?" Ultear asked.
"You're a parent…you need to stay with your child…" Yuya grunted.
"Oh, that's right. You have children as well." Zeref appeared before Yuya. "I'll be sure to send them to you in hell."
"You bastard…" Yuya unleashed his dark aura.
"You're a threat to the Dark Phoenix that must be eliminated. Farwell, Dragon Soldier." Zeref destroyed the ground where Yuya used his sword to anchor and both he and Ultear fell into the ocean.
When they hit the water, Ultear got memories of her mother Ur. She learned the truth. Ur was told that Ultear had died. She never abandoned her, she just wanted to help her. But the people of the bureau had lied to her.
"That's right. The reason I wanted for the Grand Magic World to appear was to see my mother again. To tell her that I love her." Ultear thought as tears formed in her eyes as she continued to sink to the bottom.
Yuya then reached her and pulled her up to the surface, both of them gasping for air. "You saved me?" Ultear looked at Yuya.
"I'm a parent too." Yuya said. "You need to be there for your child." Yuya helped Ultear get back to the island. "Wish I had taken my own advice." Yuya muttered as he thought about his kids.
Rain started to pour all over the island, causing Yuya to look up at the cloudy sky. "What are you going to do now?"
"I'm done with Grimoire Heart and Zeref." Ultear said. "As for what to do next, I don't know…"
"Have some bonding time with Meredy. You both could use it. Make it a mother-daughter day out of it." Yuya suggested.
"You were listening?" Ultear questioned.
"I wanted to see how Natsu would handle a Duel. He still has a long way to go, but I'll help him out. You weren't a bad Duelist yourself. How about when things settle down, we play against each other. For fun." Yuya smiled.
"I'd like that very much." Ultear smiled back.
"Hey, Yuya!"
Yuya saw Natsu, Wendy, Happy, Carla, Lily and Meredy running towards them. "You guys okay?" Yuya asked.
"Yeah, we're fine. Zeref got away though." Natsu said.
"I see…" Yuya said.
"What should we do with these two?" Lily questioned.
"Leave them be. They're victims." Yuya answered.
"Alright, you're the boss." Natsu said.
"Are you okay, Natsu? You're not usually like this." Happy said.
"Things change, people change." Natsu said.
"Don't change too much. Otherwise, you won't be you." Yuya said. "Besides, you can't cool down yet. You need to keep the fire burning."
"Right." Natsu nodded.
"Okay, first we rendezvous with the others at camp. Then, we go finish of Hades." Yuya gave the plan.
