Chapter 6: Romantic Flight

With trembling hands, the caller ID showcased her husband's photo. He would never called her unless it was something she had really messed up. Most of the time, Vinn would have texted her in short words.

Giving Ghidorah a pleading look, she prayed that he does not make a sound until the call ends. Answering the phone, she was blasted with shouts that almost deafened her hearing.

"ABOUT DAMN TIME YOU PICK UP, WOMAN!" Vinn yelled on the other side. It wasn't even on speaker and yet his voice shook the living room. "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU? HAVE YOU BECOME SENILE?! SHOULD HAVE LISTEN TO YOUR DADDY IF YOU WANT TO PLEASE ME."

Arissa blinked at the sudden accusation, her heart beating fast with fear. "S-something wrong at work, dear?"

"NEVER PACKED FRIED RICE FOR ME AGAIN!" his voice boomed. "My coworkers say that it smells like shit. You fucking embarrassed me in front of everyone! Even this office seemed like a better place than coming home to a sow like you!"

The call ended, leaving Arissa to slump in her seat with resignation. Vinn loved fried rice and she always packed that for him. But if he doesn't want any, he could at least tell her before getting up the next day for work. Now she was starting to question whether she was as useless as everyone around her confirmed.

She sipped the tea Ghidorah made, the sweetness of the honey touched her tongue combined with the milk that almost soothed her. Ghidorah approached her with a stern expression but his eyes held so much emotion.

::I don't understand why he is your mate. He never valued you as an equal, let alone see you experiencing pain with your offspring.::

"You don't know that!" Arissa shook her head, trying to steady all of the pain she was experiencing from both the call and Ghidorah. She held on to the idea that Vinn was still the man she fell for and wished he would at least tell her that he loves her.

She felt a gentle tap on her side, making her wipe her tears to see Ghidorah's head inches away from hers. He felt so warm...

::What do you want to do?:: he asked, his tail curling neatly across his feet. She wondered if it really was alright to go out since Vinn would not be back for a week. Maybe more if she kept receiving all of his shouts. They baby was kicking her softly, as if he/she wanted her to answer the golden dragon.

Adjusting her bathrobe, she touched his snout gently. "Is it wrong of me to want to venture out?"

She wondered if it was her imagination or was Ghidorah giving her an amused smile. He gently nudged her belly before his muzzle was inches away from her cheek. While he was radiating warmth, Arissa felt hot under the robe.

"W-well, if you insist," she got up, a hint of fear yet excitement was waving off her. Leaving him at the living room, she began to dress up. It had been so long since Vinn last took her out. In fact, she couldn't even remember the last time she ever went out after she became pregnant. She decided to wear a floral-patterned maternity dress with a matching sunhat and then it dawned on her...

"Ichi!" she called Monster Zero. "Could you come in here please?"

When Ghidorah entered the bedroom, he froze. This was concerning, since she had never seen such expressions from a dragon. She gestured him to come closer and pointed at the wardrobe full of clothes. "Since we are going out, don't you want to wear something?

Ghidorah tilted his head. ::Why would I need that? We are not going to those concrete jungles if you are wondering. I decided to take you somewhere where I do not need to hide for now...::

This made Arissa wondered what was he planning. It was funny since a dragon who had destroyed an entire planet, let alone tried to takeover her world was now taking her out on what looked like date.

She felt her chest becoming light. There was one thing she had wanted to try but a tiny voice inside of her was calling her a traitor. Vinn will not be back for a week and yet she wanted to try some things before he comes home.

And she hoped she was making a damn well good decision!

...

Despite a few hesitations, Ghidorah was pleased by the human's cooperation to follow through with his plan. He could not fathom how could one be content being cooped up in such a small space without feeling the sun or breeze on their skin?

Before he took off from her window with Arissa on his back, she had packed a small bag that contained food and other nourishments for her and the offspring. As much as he still had a destructive goal in mind, Ghidorah couldn't help but glance at the human who allowed him to hide in her home and trusted him to interact with her swollen belly.

Was he becoming as weak as those titans that stayed here?

Whatever it was, he felt light whenever he saw the little human smile or giving him gentle touches to showcase her trust in him. He assured her by bumping his snout against her. It was a mystery yet an intrigued sensation whenever he displayed what he thought were his weaknesses to her.

'Good thing Ni and San aren't alive to witness this. I wouldn't hear the end of it,' he thought to himself with a shudder. When he took off, Arissa lets out a gasp of surprise, clinging onto his neck. Nothing hurts him but he hoped that she would relaxed once they reached their destination.

He took her above the clouds, away from prying eyes. The skies were his but he knew how fragile humans were when it came to the atmosphere and stratosphere. But, Arissa was giggling and stretching out an arm to try and touch the clouds. Letting out a chuckle that sounded like a distant thunder, he flapped his wings to clear the clouds below them to give her a full view of the stretches of land below.

"Wow..." was all Arissa could muster as they flew over a bed of green field with tiny animals grazing. Ghidorah mentally noted to himself to hunt later after taking her home. As much as he missed his original size, he will savour the moment of having Arissa close to him and the offspring.

He landed at a nearby forest where it was on top of a hill that could view all of civilisation down below. Arissa was lowered onto the ground carefully, his wings splayed out like a safety net in case she falls over.

Watching her eyes wide with excitement and even touching leaves and barks of the trees reminded him so much of San's curiosity. He was aware of what he took for granted but for now, he would allow himself to bask in the sun just for a while.

"Ichi?" her soft voice called, lowering his head to her eye level.

::Yes?::

Before he could react, her soft hands cupped his scaly face to caress his cheek. He wanted to telepathically ask what she was doing but he felt her warm lips pressed upon his maw. His eyes widened by the sudden gesture and yet...

He began to close his eyes and reciprocate.

And so it begins...let's see how it will go from here~
