Wave Goodbye

Now that Conner, Ethan, and Kira became the Dino Thunder Rangers they were beginning to make more of an effort to become friends. They took Tommy's words to heart… if they were going to be a team on the battlefield, they needed to get along and trust one another.

Ethan had called his new friends and invited them to join him after school at one of his favorite places. Kira arrived at a huge brick building and noticed quite a few people from school around the place. She read the sign on the building, "Hayley's Cyberspace", and then noticed Conner walking up. She waved at the red ranger, "Conner!"

Conner quipped, "Ethan call you, too?" Kira nodded, "Yeah, said it was super important." She looked around and asked, "What is this place anyway?"

Conner shrugged as he had never been to Hayley's before, "No clue." Kira was curious why Ethan wanted to meet there and turned to walk in the place, "Let's check it out."

The red and yellow ranger were amazed as they walked in… the Cybercafe was definitely a fun and high-tech hangout. Hayley had truly outdone herself with the café, and the café was packed with students having fun and using her many computer stations.

Conner quipped as he looked around, "Wow, you think he lives here?" Kira was impressed, and totally agreed with Conner's quip, "I think he wishes he lived here."

Ethan spotted his new friends and walked up to them, "There they are- my brother and sister in crime" and lowered his voice a bit so only they could hear, "or at least crime-fighting." He motioned around the place, "Welcome to my world. What do you think?"

Ethan began to show Conner and Kira around. It wasn't Conner's normal scene, but he did like the café, "Yeah, I guess it's kind of cool in a techno-retro dorky sort of way."

Ethan was just excited that his teammates had joined him, "You can do anything here- game, chat online, listen to music, eat, drink."

Kira asked, "Who came up with the idea for this?" Ethan answered, "That would be Hayley. She's a techno legend… M.I.T grad, programming genius. Got tired of working for big technology and decided to open up this place."

Hayley had been sitting nearby and saw the three teens together. She immediately knew who they were as she noticed the bracelets she helped designed on their wrists.

Kira quipped, "Good thing for you." Ethan agreed, "Yeah, no lie." Conner went ahead and wrapped an arm around Ethan' shoulders, "Anyway, so, what's so important?"

Ethan just replied, "I just figured hey, if we're going to be saving the world together, I wanted you guys to see what I'm about."

Conner had a grin as he chuckled, "Okay, whatever, dude." Hayley then walked up to the teens, "Hey guys, what can I get you?"

Kira gave a quick glance at the menu board, "I'll just have an apple juice." Hayley smiled widely as she led the kids to the counter, "Oh, that's easy. Kira, right?"

Kira was shocked that the redhead genius knew her name, "Yeah, how'd you know?" The kids had no idea Hayley was a friend of Dr. O's, and that she was the genius who created their ranger tech.

Hayley just smiled as she turned towards the yellow ranger, "Oh, I'm all about information. It's my business. Now, you sing, don't you?"

Kira nodded, "Yeah, I do." Hayley had heard from Tommy about Kira's talents and wanted to get live music into her café… she decided to give the young musician a chance, "Great… how about this Friday you and your band play here? We'll call it an audition."

Kira's smile grew wide at the chance to perform for a bigger audience, "Well, yeah, I mean that would be great."

Hayley nodded, "All right, see you then" and walked away to return to her counter to complete her orders. Kira turned towards the guys, "Okay, I love her!"

Ethan smiled, "That's Hayley… there's not one kid in here that she hasn't helped out somehow."

Conner quipped as he leaned against the counter, "Hasn't helped me" and quickly quieted as Hayley returned with Kira's drink.

Hayley put her attention on the red ranger, "Conner McKnight, the soccer player." Hayley continued as she passed the drink to Kira, "I'm surprised you're not at the open tryouts for the Reefside Wave."

Conner gave Hayley a look, "Open tryouts?" Hayley nodded, "Yeah, at their practice field right now."

Conner couldn't believe his luck, "You're kidding, right?" It had always been Conner's dream to play professional soccer, and this was a golden opportunity.

Hayley shook her head to indicate she was serious about the tryouts, "No." Ethan quirked an eyebrow at Conner, "You were saying?" and the red ranger quickly rushed towards the exit to make it to the tryouts.

Ethan smiled as he hollered towards Conner, "Good luck bro!" Kira hopped up from her seat, "I got to go too. I need to put together a set list and restring my guitar." She quickly handed her drink to Ethan and waved goodbye.

Ethan smiled, happy that Hayley had been able to help his friends, "Nothing like spreading the love."

Suddenly Ethan heard the alert from his bracelet… he quickly headed for a spot where he wouldn't be overheard, "Yeah, Doc. You got Ethan."

Tommy's voice came over the speaker, "Can you meet me at the end of Riverside Road in an hour?"

Ethan answered, "Yeah, sure. What's up?" Tommy replied, "Just be there, and I'll fill you in." Ethan quickly got up to leave, curious about what Tommy was up to.

Meanwhile, Mesogog had summoned Zeltrax and Elsa… he was still disappointed with their recent failure. He questioned the two, "Well?"

Elsa answered, "Well, what, sir?" She knew her master was displeased, but it was best to remain calm and allow Mesogog to vent.

Mesogog gave a look and demanded, "Where's my explanation?" He wanted answers from his generals on why they failed to handle the new rangers.

Zeltrax groveled, "My lord, we offer no excuses- only apologies and a promise to improve our performance."

Elsa remained silent, so Mesogog turned towards her, "Is this correct, Elsa? Am I to understand that you feel no need to explain yourself?"

Elsa calmly answered, "Lord Mesogog, it is my humble opinion that it would be a waste of your valuable time- time better spent destroying Dr. Oliver and his new Power Rangers."

Mesogog agreed with this assessment and sauntered back to his throne, "Exactly the answer I was looking for. Now… have you had any luck in tracking down what we discussed earlier?"

Elsa replied, "We know they're out there." Zeltrax continued, "Oliver has not made his move yet. When he does, we will be there to stop him."

Mesogog growled, "You had better be." It was important that their plan succeeded… the evil mastermind would not tolerate another defeat.

Conner had made it to the soccer tryouts… he was doing well and managed to perform an impressive backflip. Conner's little backflip had power and impressed the coaches.

The head coach asked, "Who is that kid?" One of the other players answered, "That's Conner McKnight… he's still in high school. He plays on the local club team." The coach hummed and opened his clipboard to write a few notes on Conner's performance. Conner was definitely talented and had the potential to be a star player.

Tommy and Ethan had finally met up and were in the woods. Tommy explained to the blue ranger, "After the island exploded, some of my experiments were scattered all throughout this area."

Tommy grinned, "There" as they walked up and found three Dino Eggs… the Dino Eggs were in the rangers' colors and would be a valuable asset to their arsenal.

Ethan noticed they were glowing and asked, "What are they?" Tommy simply answered, "Eggs" and Ethan quipped, "Oh, it's cool, doctor. I just had lunch a couple hours ago." The blue ranger couldn't understand why Tommy was so excited to find these eggs.

Tommy chuckled, "No, we're not going to eat them. We're going to hatch them… then you're going to ride them."

Ethan slowly got up and just gave Tommy a look, "Maybe it's all this quiet out here that's got me hearing things, but I thought you just said we're going to ride these."

Tommy nodded, "I did. Trust me, Ethan, when these things are ready, they're going to be a big help to us."

Ethan shrugged and bent down to help Dr. O gather the eggs, "All right, whatever you say."

Tommy cautioned, "Careful" and the two began to place the Dino Eggs inside Tommy's bag.

Suddenly they heard noise, and thought they saw movement. Tommy and Ethan quickly got up… Ethan gave Tommy a look, "Huh?! You saw that right?"

Tommy looked around and began to strap his bag around his shoulder, "We have to protect the eggs, no matter what." Ethan gave his mentor a look, "Who'd want to hurt them?"

Elsa suddenly appeared, and leaned against a nearby tree, "I would." The guys quickly went into defensive positions.

Zeltrax and the Tyrannodrones then showed up next to Elsa, "And I. I'm starting to have my doubts about your intelligence, Dr. Oliver."

While Tommy and Ethan were distracted, a Tyrannodrone was sneaking up on them and grabbed at the bag. Ethan hollered, "Hey!" just as Zeltrax ordered, "Attack!"

Ethan karate chopped at the creature's arms, and Tommy spun and kicked the Tyrannodrone away from him.

Tommy and Ethan began to fight. Tommy struggled as another Tyrannodone grabbed at the bag, "Hands Off!" Ethan jumped in for the assist and managed to break the creature's grip.

Tommy and Ethan were fighting hard but were beginning to struggle. Tommy had been knocked on his back but managed to get up. He quickly put his arms in a protective hold around the bag, as he continued to kick and spin in defense.

Tommy realized they were outnumbered and were going to need help, "Ethan! Call the others!"

Ethan had been kicked in the stomach, but managed to raise his bracelet to his face, "Guys! We could use some Dino help out here."

Conner was still on the field when he got the alert… luckily there weren't too many players around him. Conner groaned, "No… not now!"

Conner looked around and began to run off the field. His heart was torn… he really wanted to finish the tryout, but he couldn't shirk his responsibilities as a Power Ranger.

The coach and the other players noticed the young soccer star was leaving. The coach turned towards the player that had told him about Conner, "Where's he going?" The player shrugged, so the coach hollered after Conner, "Where are you going?!"

Conner hollered back as he continued to leave the field, "I'm sorry! I'll get back as soon as I can!"

Kira had just finished her errands when she heard her bracelet go off… she quickly looked around to make sure she was alone.

Ethan had been knocked onto his back but managed to quickly get back on his feet. He squared his shoulders and pointed at the Tyrannodrones who had been ganging up on him, "You asked for this… not me." The blue ranger raised his arm, and his bracelet quickly transformed into his morpher.

After making sure there was nobody around, Conner and Kira accessed their morphers as well. In their respective locations, the three rangers hollered, "Dino Thunder, Power Up!" and morphed into their ranger suits.

Ethan had pulled out his Thundermax Saber from his holster, but the Tyrannodrones pushed him backwards into a tree. Conner and Kira arrived in just in time and used their own sabers to block the attack on Ethan.

Conner quipped towards Ethan, "You guys couldn't have done this another day?" Ethan shot back, "Don't tell me… tell them!"

Conner gave the Tyrannodrones a dirty look and summoned his primary weapon, "Let's make it quick! Tyranno Staff!"

Kira quipped as she twirled her weapons in the air, "Ptera Grips, baby!" Ethan quickly summoned his weapon as well, "Tricera Shield!"

Conner twirled his staff around, "I'm over you!" He quickly planted his staff into the ground and used it as leverage to spin and kick at the Tyrannodrones.

Ethan used his shield to his advantage. He brought the shield up for a block, "Yeah! Out of my face!" and pushed several Tyrannodrones back. Ethan was improving and becoming a stronger fighter.

Kira did an impressive backflip, and spun around using her weapons to her advantage, "I'm in it to win it!"

Tommy ended up fighting against Zeltrax and Elsa. Tommy dodged the attacks and managed to spin and land a kick on Zeltrax.

The two villains double-teamed and managed to get Tommy in a hold… Zeltrax using his shield, and Elsa grabbed at Tommy's arm. The villainous duo moved to strike, but Tommy managed to spin out of the hold. Tommy spun and managed to land a kick on Elsa's wrist.

Elsa groaned in pain, but still managed to hold her sword upright, and clutched at her injured wrist. Zeltrax shouted in concern, "Elsa!" and pushed Tommy away to rush to Elsa's side.

The rangers quickly rushed to assist and protect their mentor. Ethan quipped, "You really like these odds? Cause you look busted to me!"

Elsa growled, "We're not through with you yet, Power Rangers!" Zeltrax quipped towards Tommy, "Nor you, Dr. Oliver!"

The group gasped as Elsa summoned an invisi-portal, taking her and Zeltrax away from the scene. Kira quipped after the two disappeared, "They're a pleasant couple!"

Tommy clutched his bag, "We better get these back to my place." Kira was curious and asked, "What are they?"

Ethan pointed at the bag and quoted Dr. O, "We're going to ride them." Conner and Kira gave Ethan look like he was crazy.

Conner turned towards Tommy, "Look, I have to go back to tryouts. Can you guys handle this?" Tommy reassuringly patted Conner's shoulder, "Yeah, go ahead Conner. They can fill you in later."

Conner gave his thanks, and quickly headed on his way back to the tryouts. Ethan hollered, "Good luck!" and he and Kira went ahead and followed Dr. O back to the Dino Lab.

Conner arrived back on the field, just as the coaches were packing up everything. The coach hummed as he stood up and gave Conner a look, "McKnight."

Conner knew the coach was upset, "Yeah?" The coach opened up his clipboard and read his notes, "I got you down as a DNF. Did not finish." He quickly shut the clipboard to indicate his disappointment in Conner.

Conner apologized as he followed the coach, "Look, I'm sorry. I had something really important to take care of."

The coach gave Conner a look, "Son, if there's anything more important to you than soccer, this isn't the place for you."

Conner pleaded, "There is nothing more important." This had been a dream of his since childhood, and he was kicking himself for blowing his chance.

The coach felt bad, but he had to do what was best for his team. He patted Conner on the shoulder, "Well, thanks for trying out."

Conner ran his hands through his hair in frustration, "Oh, man!" He had really blown it and was now beginning to resent being a ranger.

A little girl had been playing nearby with her mother, and the soccer ball had landed by Conner's feet. The little girl looked at Conner, "Kick it!" Conner gave a small smile and kicked the ball towards the little girl.

The girl stopped the ball with her foot and Conner complimented, "Good Stop." The little girl smiled, "Thanks!" and returned to her mother. Conner returned the smile, but he still had a lot on his mind… he was beginning to realize how hard it was to balance his new life as a Power Ranger.

After making sure Dr. O made it back to the Dino Lab, Ethan and Kira were trying to relax and hanging out that the Cyberspace.

Ethan was playing on his laptop and quipped, "Man, Dr. O is into some weird and funky stuff. I don't even what to think about what he's hatching down in that cave right now."

Kira agreed, "I have a feeling we won't have to wait too long to find out." She turned her head and noticed a very handsome Hispanic-looking guy walking in, "Whoa… who is that?"

Ethan turned to look, "I don't know" He noticed that Kira couldn't stop staring and waved his hand in front of the love-struck girl, "Hello? Anyone in there?"

Kira sheepishly replied, "He's really- wow. Isn't he?" Kira was definitely falling for the new kid… Ethan chuckled seeing Kira like this, "Can I get you a glass of water, maybe an oxygen mask?"

Kira shushed Ethan as she noticed the guy was walking towards them, "Quiet… he's coming over here." She quickly bowed her head to avoid embarrassment.

The guy asked Ethan, "Hey, I'm looking for Hayley. I'm supposed to start work today." Ethan answered, "She's around here somewhere… haven't I seen you at Reefside?"

Trent nodded, happy at a chance to make friends, "Yeah, I just moved here last week. My name's Trent."

Ethan shook Trent's hand, "I'm Ethan… this is Kira." Trent smiled at the yellow ranger, "Hey", but noticed how quiet Kira was being, "Are you okay?"

Ethan joked, "She doesn't speak. We've been trying for years, but we just can't get through." Kira gave Ethan a glare, but turned her head to smile at Trent, "I'm fine… it's nice to meet you."

Trent smiled… he thought Kira was beautiful and hoped to get to know her better. Hayley walked up to the group, "Trent, good timing. Come with me, and I'll get you started."

Trent nodded, "Cool" and turned towards Ethan and Kira, "I'll see you guys later." Trent then followed Hayley to start his job.

Ethan waved goodbye to Trent and teased Kira, "Isn't he just so wow?" Kira stomped on Ethan's foot in retaliation.

Ethan yelped, "Ow!" and then saw a crestfallen Conner walking up, "Hey, how'd it go?"

Conner replied in frustration, "How'd it go? It's over… the coach basically said forget it. And who can blame him? I mean, I left in the middle of practice."

Kira tried to calm down Conner, "Well, it's not like you didn't have a good excuse." Conner retorted, "Right. Well, maybe next time I will bring a note from our teacher- sorry, Conner couldn't make it to practice today. He was busy fighting freaky-looking dinosaur things in the forest."

Ethan and Kira quickly grabbed Conner and began to lead him towards the sofa so they could quiet down the upset red ranger who was about to blow their secret. Ethan gave Conner a look to shut up and quipped, "I bet he's never heard that excuse before."

The group sat down as Conner continued to vent, "Whatever. Look, the point is, what was I supposed to say? Man, this whole saving the world deal is seriously starting to bum me out."

Conner leaned back on the sofa in frustration… he needed to do something. He got up as a realization came to him, "I need to talk to Dr. Oliver."

Kira grasped Conner's shoulder and warned, "Uh, I think he might be kind of busy. He's got this whole new project."

Conner quipped, "Too bad… I was busy today. That didn't stop him from messing up my life." Conner quickly rose and prepared to confront Dr. O.

Ethan and Kira quickly chased after Conner, "Wait! We'll go with you!" "Yeah!" This was not going to be pretty, and they wanted to make sure that Conner didn't go too ballistic on Dr. O.

The rangers arrived to hear roaring in the lab. Tommy hollered, "Don't come in! It's not safe!" The kids spied a yellow tail as Tommy and several objects were thrown around the lab.

Kira quipped, "We kind of got that!" A blue tail knocked Tommy onto his stomach, and he landed right in front of the rangers.

Ethan asked, "Is that what was in those eggs?" Tommy slowly got up and tried to wipe his hand as they were covered in slime, "Yeah… I'm trying to train them."

Ethan gave a look as he asked, "How's it coming?" Tommy answered, "Slowly" and dodged another tail whack. "Very slowly."

Conner replied, "Look, I can see that you're busy with… well, whatever. But I need to talk."

A red tail landed a solid whack on Tommy's back, and he landed flat on his face in the dirt. The door to the lab closed and the kids moved closer towards their mentor.

Tommy looked like a mess… his clothes were covered in slime and dirt. Tommy shrugged, "I guess I could take a break."

Ethan leaned forward and offered his hand, "Here" and helped Tommy up. Tommy turned towards the kids once he was fully upright, "All right, what's up?"

Ethan looked at his hand in disgust… it was covered in the slime that had been on Tommy. Conner went straight to the point, "You got to find someone to replace me."

Kira gave Conner a stern look, "What are you talking about?" Ethan chimed in, "You're talking crazy!"

Tommy gave the teens a look to quiet them down like he would in class, "All right, settle down. What's the problem?"

Conner explained, "Look, I'm a soccer player. That's all I ever wanted to do. You know, every moment of my life had led up to playing for a pro team. And I get the greatest chance of my life, and I blow it."

Tommy could relate… he remembered the missed karate tournaments and school events that he missed because he was called away on ranger duties, "I understand, and you're right."

Ethan gave Dr. O an incredulous look, "You're agreeing with him?!" Tommy continued, "Conner, I know how you feel, cause I felt that way before. But I want you to think about this before you do anything."

Kira was understanding as well, "Look, I've got things I want to do, but I'm here. I'm dealing."

Conner replied, "Good for you… I guess I'm just different." The red ranger walked away, seriously having to think things over.

Ethan just stared, "Whoa… and I thought the red guy was supposed to be the leader." Tommy shook his head… he felt bad for Conner, but he had faith the red ranger would come to the right decision.

Back at Mesogog's fortress, Mesogog declared to his generals, "If Oliver trains those creatures, he will be able to use them against us. And that will be… disastrous. The time has come for Dr. Oliver to become a student instead of a teacher."

Zeltrax nodded in agreement as Mesogog turned and ordered, "Initiate the Geno Randomizer." Elsa and Zeltrax quickly headed to their stations. Zeltrax replied as he pressed the keys, "Entering DNA Code."

Elsa moved a lever, "Engaging" and the machine began to work. Mesogog stared at the screen and was pleased, "Excellent!"

Elsa declared, "Genetic mutation complete." The machine doors opened to reveal an ugly monster.

Elsa nodded in approval, and Zeltrax agreed as well, "Excellent". Mesogog let out a hiss, pleased with their creation and prepared to send down his monster to attack.

Conner was back on the soccer field, kicking balls at the net to release his frustrations.

Conner heard a voice call to him, "McKnight." Conner turned and was face-to-face with the coach, "Coach… what are you doing here?"

The coach replied, "I got a call of from one of your teachers. He tells me that it was his fault you had to leave today."

Conner hopefully asked, "Does that mean I have a shot?" The coach honestly answered, "You always had a shot, son. You sure you really want this? Are you willing to give up everything?"

Conner nodded, "Yeah, I am." The coach just eyed Conner… wanting the young man to be sure of the decision, "All right, I'll let you know."

Ethan and Kira then walked up… Ethan nodded, "Hey, bro." Kira noticed the coach and asked, "Things okay with the coach?"

Conner replied, "Yeah, I think so. Listen, I'm sorry, you guys. You got to understand." Kira nodded and gave an understanding look, "Yeah, we do."

Ethan quipped, "She does more than me, but if it's what you really want." Ethan didn't really want Conner to quit, but he would respect whatever decision Conner made.

In the Dino Lab, Tommy eyed the monitors and saw Mesogog's monster attacking the city and groaned, "Not good." He quicky alerted the rangers, "Guys, we have a situation. There's a monster attack in the city. People are in danger."

Conner looked at the others, "Okay, but this is the last time." He went into leadership mode, "Ready?" Ethan and Kira nodded, "Ready!" The trio accessed their morphers and moved together, "Dino Thunder, Power Up!"

Once fully morphed, the Power Rangers quickly headed to the scene. Conner quipped as he eyed the monster, "Whoa! Nasty!" This was the first time the rangers encountered a monster, but they knew it needed to be stopped.

Conner led the charge, "Let's do it!" and the rangers quickly began to battle. The monster was powerful… it managed to knock the boys backwards.

Kira held her own for a bit, but the monster landed a kick to her spine and sent the yellow ranger flying. Kira landed flat on her back, and had the wind knocked out of her.

Ethan hollered, "Hey, Bird Brain!" He raised his blaster, "Thunder Max!" He and Conner both fired their blasters at Bird Brain in retaliation for Kira.

The monster groaned in pain, and Kira gave a grateful look at her friends. "Thanks guys." Conner asked, "You okay?" Kira was already slowly getting up and nodded, "Yeah"

Conner raised his blaster at the monster, "Give up?" Bird Brain turned and taunted as he opened his wings, "Catch me if you can!" and retreated from the scene.

Kira lunged forward, "He's getting away!" Conner put his arm out to stop Kira, "We'll never catch him."

Kira's morpher beeped and the rangers heard Tommy's voice, "You can. Meet the Raptor Riders." Tommy pressed a few keys on his computer and sent the Raptor Riders to the rangers.

The Raptor Riders were finally tamed and headed towards their new masters. Conner was excited to see them, "Oh yeah! Whoa!" and quicky hopped onto his red raptor.

Ethan hollered, "Yeah, baby!" as he got on his blue raptor. Kira exclaimed, "They're great!" and was already on her yellow raptor.

The rangers urged on the raptors, "Go, Raptor Riders!" and quickly began chasing after Bird Brain.

The raptors leaped over vehicles and Kira managed to spot the monster, "There he goes!" Ethan hollered, "On it!" as he veered his raptor in the direction that Kira indicated.

People began running as the Tyrannodrones began their attack. The little girl from the park tried to hide, but a Tyrannodrone soon came face-to-face with her.

Conner gasped, "No!" He couldn't let an innocent child get hurt, and hollered to the others, "I'll help the girl! You follow that freak!"

Kira nodded, "Right! On it!" Her raptor was closely on Bird Brain's trail and she hollered towards Ethan, "Watch out! On your left!" Ethan replied, "I got your back!" and leaped forward.

Conner leaped from his raptor and kicked the Tyrannodrone away from the young girl. He quickly rushed over, "You okay?"

The girl nodded, amazed that the red ranger had saved her. The girl's mother quickly arrived and wrapped her child into her arms. Conner nodded at the mother and child, "She's safe now" and headed back to rejoin his teammates.

Bird Brain was leaping over several buildings, with Kira closely following the monster. The monster leaped off a tall building and headed back towards the streets.

Kira looked down, "Whoa!" and had to rear her raptor back for a second. Bird Brain quipped at the yellow ranger, "You afraid of heights?"

Kira pulled out her Ptera Grips at that, "You wish, you freaky bird!" Her raptor quickly made its way down the building, and Kira landed several slashes with her weapon.

Conner pulled out his weapon, "Tyranno Staff!" and landed a blow with his staff. Ethan hollered, "Fire!" and landed several powerful blasts.

Bird Brain fell to the ground in pain… the rangers hollered, "Raptor Riders!" The Raptor Riders screeched and got close to each other. Ethan and Kira leaped, and joined Conner atop of his rider… the rangers quickly began to combine their weapons, "Z-Rex Blaster!" and quickly pointed their blaster at the monster. "Firing!"

The blaster let out a huge wave of energy, and quickly blasted Bird Brain to pieces. The rangers cheered, "That goose is cooked!" "Yeah!" "Awesome!" "We Rock!"

Mesogog saw the whole thing on his monitor and glared at Elsa, "Must I do everything for myself?" He moved a lever, "Activating Hydro Regenerator."

A dark cloud appeared and rained over the spot where Bird Brain had been… the rain quickly began to pull the pieces of the monster back together. Bird Brain quickly grew into a giant version of himself and towered over the rangers.

The rangers gasped… Conner quickly raised his morpher, "Dr. O, we may have a problem on our hands."

Tommy quipped as he was all too familiar with this situation, "Let me guess… the 30-story version of that guy you were just fighting?"

Ethan questioned their mentor, "You've done this before, haven't you?" Tommy simply answered, "Once or twice" He returned to his computer, "I'm sending the Dino Zords."

Bird Brain gasped as the Dino Zords came on the scene. The rangers were relieved to see their zords, "Bring it on!" "Whoo!"

Conner turned towards his friends, "Ready?" Kira nodded, "Oh, yeah!" and the rangers leaped into their zords. The rangers quickly combined the zords and declared, "Thundersaurus Megazord!"

Bird Brain growled and fired several blasts towards the Megazord. Sparks flew in the cockpit, but thankfully the Megazord stayed upright.

Kira quickly exclaimed, "I've got an idea! Pterarang!" The wings of the Ptera Zord came upon the Megazord's shoulders in the shape of a huge boomerang.

The Megazord's eyes glowed and launched the Pterarang at the monster. The Pterarang landed a direct hit, and then the Megazord used the Dino Drill as the finishing touch.

The Megazord landed just as Bird Brain exploded…. Kira quipped, "Now that's what I call monster-busting!"

The Power Rangers safely landed on the ground after the battle. Conner waved, "Hey!" as he saw the little girl and her mother were okay.

The girl ran towards Conner, and Conner went to meet her. He bent down to her level, as the little girl sweetly said, "Thank you" and gave the red ranger a huge hug.

Conner returned the hug, "Anytime… anytime." He was deeply touched and began to see how important being a Power Ranger really was.

Friday quickly came, and it was finally the day of Kira's performance. Tommy was in the lab and his monitor alerted him that there was a huge energy reading that was similar to the rangers' Dino Gems. This could mean he was close to finding one of the missing Dino Gems… he was going to need the others to find the gem before Mesogog did.

He was already planning on attending Kira's performance at the Cyberspace and would get the rangers after Kira finished her show. He still felt bad about running Conner's soccer tryouts and didn't want to spoil Kira's show.

He also had to deal with Kimberly… he hated how he left things with her. Suddenly his phone rang, "Dr. Oliver" A familiar voice quipped over the line, "Tommy, you don't have to pull the Dr. Oliver bit with me. I was your girlfriend and partner for 3 years."

Tommy was surprised, "Kimberly, how did you get my number?" Kimberly chuckled, "I got it from work records… you do remember we work together?"

Tommy rolled his eyes, "I remember. I've been meaning to talk to you, but I've been super busy with work and my latest projects."

Kimberly smirked, "Tommy, you have a lot of explaining to do… I was a Power Ranger myself; do you really think you can hide things from me? It can't be a coincidence that a brand-new team of Power Rangers show up in Reefside, and I know you have something to do with it."

Tommy sighed, "Kimberly, there's a lot that you don't know. We don't have powers anymore, and I don't want to get you involved. The last thing I want is for you to get hurt."

Or for Mesogog to find out just how much you still mean to me. Despite that you were the one that ended our relationship, I still care about you. Kimberly, you are still stubborn as ever.

Kimberly replied, "Tommy, I just want to help. If you're training the new Power Rangers, you could use another former ranger to help you. You don't have to do this on your own. I'm still your friend… don't you trust me?"

Tommy answered, "Kimberly, despite everything, you know I do." His heart was telling him he was still deeply in love with Kimberly, no matter how hard he tried to deny it.

Kimberly softened at that, "Tommy, if we're ever going to fix things between us, we need to be honest with each other. Can't we meet and just talk things over?"

Tommy sighed, "How about we meet at Hayley's Cyberspace? Kira's performing this afternoon, and I promised I would go. We can talk after the show… maybe we can come to my house to have our conversation in private."

Kimberly smiled as she replied, "I'd like that… I'll see you there." Tommy sighed after the call ended… he still wasn't sure if he should get Kimberly involved with the Dino Thunder Rangers, but he did need to be honest with her. If they were ever going to repair their relationship, he couldn't lie to her.

At the Cyberspace, Kira was on stage gearing up for her show. Trent smiled as he brought the singer a drink, "Good luck Kira!" Kira returned the smile as she took her drink from Trent, "Thanks"

Ethan turned to find Conner walking in, "Hey! I didn't expect to see you here." Conner stepped closer so only Ethan would overhear, "Why not? We're partners in crime-fighting, right?"

Ethan gave Conner a surprised look, "Are we?" He had seriously thought Conner was going to walk away from the Power Rangers. Conner nodded, "Yeah, we are."

Ethan put an arm on Conner's shoulder and the boys headed towards the counter, "Hey, what happened to the Wave?"

Conner replied, "I had to make a choice. That little girl made me realize there's nothing more important than what we're doing."

Hayley walked up to the boys, carrying drinks in her hands, and replied, "Hey, Conner… sorry you didn't make the team."

Conner gave a sheepish look, "Uh… yeah." Hayley passed the drinks to the boys, "These are on the house" and walked off to check on the rest of her café.

Conner gave a look at the redhead, "How does she do that?" Ethan quipped, "Hayley knows all, man. And I'm sorry too." He knew how much the opportunity meant to Conner.

Conner admitted, "Yeah, look… you know, I'd still would've chosen you guys, right?" Ethan just gave a wide smile… he knew Conner would do the right thing, "Yeah, I know."

The guys turned towards the stage to watch Kira's show as Hayley began her introduction, "Thanks guys! Tonight, we've got something really special for you- a young woman with a lot to say. Ladies and gentlemen, Kira Ford!"

Everyone began to gather around the stage… Ethan cheered loudly, and Conner gave his applause in support.

The music began and Kira began to sing. "And it goes like this. Yeah, Yeah. Yeah, Yeah. I can't tell you why, but I can't stop thinking about you baby. Oh, yeah. Don't you think it's time I walked around every word you're saying? Oh, yeah. I'm trying hard to figure out… tell me what it's all about. Because I don't want to freak you out… freak you out, freak you out."

Everyone was loving Freak You Out and Conner and Ethan were proud of their friend. Ethan turned to Conner, "Hey, wasn't Dr. O. supposed to be here?" Kimberly then walked up to the boys, "I just talked to him not too long ago… he told me he was going to be here. It's not like Tommy to be this late… I hope he shows up. I was really hoping to talk to him."

The brunette quickly excused herself from the boys and tried to enjoy the show… she tried to shake her feelings, but she seriously felt that something bad had happened to Tommy.

Conner gave Ethan a look, "Okay…that was weird. Something is obviously going on between Dr. O and Coach H."

Ethan chuckled, "Who knew Dr. O had game? Dr. O and Coach H. admitted they're old friends, but I think there's more to it. I think they were more than friends."

Conner looked at Ethan in surprise, "Wait, you don't think Dr. O and Coach H. dated, do you?" Ethan just smiled "Exactly… come on. We can grill Dr. O about it when he gets here. Let's just enjoy the rest of Kira's show."

Meanwhile, Tommy was arriving at the café… he could hear Kira's music and was about to head inside. Suddenly, Zeltrax and the Tyrannodrones showed up and surrounded the former ranger.

Tommy tried to defend himself, but he was quickly overpowered. An invisi-portal quickly opened; the Tyrannodrones leaped through the portal, taking Tommy with them. Zeltrax laughed… he had succeeded in capturing the Power Rangers' mentor and his greatest enemy. Tommy was now in Mesogog's clutches, and the Power Rangers had no idea that their mentor had been abducted and was in serious danger.

I'm seriously enjoying rewatching the episodes, and I hope everyone is enjoying my spin on the episodes. Up next will be Legacy of Power... that's going to be a tricky one, but I hope I can do it justice.
