Golden Boy

The Power Rangers arrived as Dysotron, their latest monster foe, was attacking the city. Conner hollered, "Come on guys!" Ethan exclaimed as the monster was firing upon the nearby buildings, "He's destroying the city!"

Having had enough, Conner declared, "Okay, it's Zord Time!" With that order, Brachio Zord quickly arrived on the scene with the Dino Zords.

The rangers quickly leaped into their zords and began to form the Megazord. The rangers cried, "Online" as soon as they were in their cockpit.

The Megazord turned to face Dysotron. The monster taunted, "What are you looking at?" He sent beams from his hands, "How about a little vacation? See ya!" as a vortex transported the Megazord away from Reefside.

The rangers found themselves in an Artic wilderness. Another vortex opened, bringing Dysotron to the scene, "Now you have an icy disposition!"

The monster laughed as he blasted a puff of cold wind that froze the Megazord in its tracks. Kira shivered, "I'm freezing!" Conner quipped, "This gives new meaning to the phrase chilling like a villain." Ethan shivered as well but managed to say, "Come on… focus!"

The rangers quickly got the Megazord to spin. Dysotron was surprised and blown backwards… the spin effectively defrosted the Megazord, and the rangers were back in the game.

Kira had enough, "How about a little Ptera-rang?!" The Megazord launched the Ptera-Rang and landed a direct hit on Dysotron.

The monster groaned in pain and cried, "Spoilsport!" as he and the rangers returned to Reefside.

Ethan cried, "Tricera Fist!" and the Megazord quickly landed a punch and followed with a swipe with the Tyranno Tail.

To prevent another teleport, Tyranno fired a huge fireball, knocking Dysotron backwards.

The monster groaned in pain. Ethan cried, "Oh, yeah!" Kira cheered, "Good one!" Conner was ready to end the fight and ordered, "Dino Drill!"

Dysotron tried to teleport away, as the Megazord reared up for the final strike, but his powers failed on him. The monster reappeared, only for the Dino Drill to land a direct hit. Dyostron exploded from the impact.

The Megazord stood in victory. Conner cheered, "Yeah! We're rolling now!" Ethan nodded, "No doubt!" Kira quipped, "Give it up Mesogog. We're not going anywhere."

Zeltrax and Elsa were watching the latest battle on their monitors. Zeltrax groaned, "Oh, no." Elsa let out a groan as well, "Are you going to tell him, or am I?"

Zeltrax turned his head, "I cannot bear to bring my master such dismal news. He has been like a father… he deserves better."

Zeltrax prepared to walk away, but Elsa quickly put out her hand to stop him, "Hold it! Don't you think we've failed enough for one day?"

Zeltrax replied, "We have been betrayed by inferior creatures." He removed Elsa's hand as he insisted, "Our only hope is to build one from superior resources… like me."

Elsa scoffed and gave the cyborg an incredulous look, "You're a superior resource?"

Zeltrax continued, "With the addition of the powers I have programmed into the Geno Randomizer, I will be invincible."

Elsa rolled her eyes, "Fine… go on, then." Zeltrax was surprised Elsa agreed with his plan so easily, "You have no objection?"

Elsa answered, "If it works, we will destroy the Power Rangers. If it doesn't, it will probably destroy you. Either way, my day doesn't end up too badly." She crossed her arms… the villainess just knew that Zeltrax's plan was going to end in disaster.

Zeltrax huffed, "You'll see" and entered the doors of the Geno Randomizer. "Activate."

Elsa moved the lever, and the doors closed. The machine began to work, and a few moments later Zeltrax stepped out, "It's done."

Elsa gave the cyborg an expectant look, "Well?" Zeltrax replied, "I feel… the same."

Suddenly a voice came from behind the cyborg, "But I feel alive!"

A red and gold cyborg appeared and bowed in front of Zeltrax, "Father… I am here to serve you." Zeltrax and Elsa were stunned at the new cyborg's words, "Father?" "Huh?" It appeared Zeltrax created himself a "son" in his efforts to improve himself.

Meanwhile, the Cyberspace was busy as ever. Trent groaned, "Aww, man" as he tried to catch up with his cleaning and orders.

Ethan had been waiting on Trent for a while and stopped the poor waiter in his tracks, "Trent, I got to go home soon. You going to be able to scrounge a few minutes for our government project?"

Trent felt awful, "I'm really sorry, Ethan. We just got slammed all of a sudden."

Ethan understood and patted Trent's shoulder as the busy waiter went to check on the customers.

Suddenly the two friends could hear Cassidy's voice demanding attention, "Waiter! Order up! Hello?!"

Trent groaned, while Ethan chuckled at Cassidy's impatience, "Waiter!". Ethan patted Trent on the back, "Do what you got to do."

Cassidy began to click her fingers, "Waiter, hello!" Ethan reassured Trent, "I'll find something to keep me busy until you get a break." Trent sighed in relief, "That'd be great."

Trent went to check on his orders as Cassidy continued to click her fingers, "Waiter! Hello!" Devin tried to calm down his upset friend, "Yeah, Cass, look… I don't think they really like the whole, uhm, clicky thing. Well, you see, my brother, he's a waiter and-"

Cassidy rudely interrupted, "Save it for your memoirs, Devin. Every second my decaf latte sits at the bar, it loses foam. And I hate it when they lose foam."

Trent finally brought Cassidy's drink, "There you go… one decaf latte." Cassidy smiled now that she had her drink, "Oh, thanks." Trent could overhear the other customers calling him as Cassidy replied, "You know doing this government in action project has left me totally parched."

Trent distractedly said, "That's nice" and prepared to check on his other customers. Devin gently grabbed Trent's arm as he was walking away, "Hey, look, Trent." Trent was startled, but stopped to give Devin his attention, "Yo!" Devin continued, "Uh, I hate to be a drag, but you know-" He quickly gave a small whistle and made a motion that he was missing his drink.

Trent sighed, "Ah, man. Your smoothie." Devin nodded and emphasized with his spoon, "You got it!" Trent quickly apologized, "Sorry, Dev. I'll be right back."

Devin kindly replied, "Thanks, Trent!" as the young waiter headed back to the counter. Cassidy rolled her eyes, "Whatever" as she went back to work on her laptop.

Ethan decided to have a little fun with the blonde. Cassidy pressed a key on the laptop and suddenly the computer emitted a loud scream. Cassidy and everyone around her were startled by the sound, "You hear that?!"

Devin answered, "Uh, yeah, it'd be hard not to." Cassidy pressed another key, and Ethan rigged her computer to make the sound again. Cassidy was startled again and cried, "Ah! Oh… make it stop!"

Ethan chuckled to himself, when suddenly a disapproving Hayley walked up to the mischievous blue ranger.

Hayley gave Ethan her disapproving stare, "Having fun?" Ethan gave an innocent smile as he replied, "Uh, yeah, I am." Hayley gave Ethan another stern look and the blue ranger knew he was busted, "Okay, I'm stopping."

Hayley rolled her eyes and headed back to work. As soon as Hayley walked away, Ethan rigged Cassidy's computer one final time. Cassidy tried her computer again, and it immediately screamed again. Cassidy freaked out again, while Ethan just chuckled at the blonde's reaction.

Anton Mercer then walked through the doors. Trent saw his father and asked, "Dad, what are you doing here?"

Anton looked at his watch, "I'd thought I'd give you a ride home, you ready?" Trent looked around the busy café, "I don't think I can leave right now… I'm in the middle of work."

Anton straightened his tie as he said, "Look, son, I don't mean this to sound elitist… but don't you think a managerial position would suit you better? I mean, come on, all this running around… slinging milkshakes. It doesn't really scream Mercer."

Trent shook his head at his father, "Dad, I like working here. And besides, I'm in high school. This is what kids do."

Anton just nodded, "Right. Well, that's not what I did." Trent just gave his father a knowing look… he just wished his father would lighten up. Anton continued, "Anyway, let me think about it. Maybe we can come up with a compromise we can both live with."

Trent could tell his father was up to something, "Dad, I'm fine." Anton just smiled as an idea came to him, "See you at home." Trent just nodded, "Okay, see ya" as Anton headed out the door.

Trent turned to find Devin behind the counter, "Uh, Dev?" Devin stopped the blender and apologized, "Oh, hey Trent. Look, uh, I'd just figured I'd make my own. Is that okay?"

Trent simply replied, "Why not?" It would be one less order he would have to deal with, and quickly went back to work.

Devin opened the lid and began to add more ingredients for his drink. Once he was satisfied, he turned the blender on. Suddenly, the shake contents splattered all over Devin's face and all over the counter… he had forgotten to put the lid back on the blender. Poor Devin was a mess, and everyone was laughing at his mistake.

Back at Mesogog's fortress, Goldenrod was eager to please, "Father, I await your command. Tell me how I may serve you."

Elsa patted Zeltrax's shoulder and asked, "Have you figured out why he calls you Father yet?"

Zeltrax answered, "Not yet. But clearly his blind devotion is something we can use to our advantage."

Elsa rolled her eyes and quipped, "And, how would that be?"

An idea quickly came to Zeltrax, "My son." Goldenrod raised his head and intently listened, "Yes?"

Zeltrax addressed his son, "The time has come for you to fulfill your family destiny."

Goldenrod rose to his feet and nodded, "I am ready, Father."

Zeltrax opened a portal and ordered, "Through that invisi-portal, you will find Dr. Thomas Oliver. Wait for him, follow him, then destroy him."

Goldenrod answered, "You order it, and it shall be done, Father." Zeltrax smirked at Elsa in satisfaction as his son disappeared into the portal, "You see?"

Trent had just gotten out of work and was walking out of the café with Tommy. Trent thanked his teacher, "Thanks for the ride home, Dr. O. Dad would have freaked if I got home late again."

Tommy smiled, "No problem." He decided to ask Trent as he was curious, "Hey, speaking of your dad, there's something I've been wondering. All those years working with your father and, uh, he never mentioned he had a son."

Trent shrugged his head, "Well, he didn't… you know, have one, that is. Him and my real parents worked together on a dig last winter… there was a cave in. My parents never got out."

Tommy felt bad for prying, "I'm sorry to hear that." Tommy had no idea about the tragic circumstances that lead to Trent's adoption.

While Trent was sad about the deaths of his real parents, he did love and respect his adoptive father. Tommy could hear the sincerity in Trent's voice as he replied, "Yeah, he's been great though. He's taken me in… given me everything. You know, a home, a life. Not a lot of people would have done that."

Tommy nodded as he buckled up and started his jeep, "Yeah… I can relate. I'm adopted as well, and I was lucky to have wonderful adoptive parents." Trent gave a small smile at that… it was nice to know he had something in common with his teacher.

As Tommy drove on the road to take Trent home, he spotted something in his rearview mirror, "What the?" He turned his head towards Trent, "Trent, look- do you see-"

Trent turned his head and was shocked to see Goldenrod chasing the jeep, "A big gold guy running like 50 miles an hour right behind us?!"

Tommy quickly brought his jeep to a stop, just as the young cyborg caught up to the jeep. Goldenrod crashed into the jeep's spare tire and flew backwards. The gold cyborg landed on the ground, flat on his back.

Tommy and Trent felt the impact, causing Trent to exclaim, "Whoa!" The two quickly climbed out the vehicle to check out the situation.

As they got a good look at Goldenrod, Trent asked his teacher, "What is that thing?!" Tommy groaned, "Oh, man. My insurance company is never going to buy this."

Suddenly, Goldenrod rose to his feet and startled the heck out of Trent. Goldenrod stared at the teacher and student, "Which one of you is Dr. Oliver?"

Trent gave a look towards his teacher, "Uh…" Tommy quickly answered, "That'd be me."

Goldenrod cracked his fingers, "Then prepare for your demise." Tommy clenched his jaw and prepared to defend himself.

Goldenrod declared, "You're mine!" as he stomped forward. Tommy quickly shoved Trent behind him and sprang into action. Tommy managed to land a kick on the cyborg's stomach but groaned in pain from the action. Tommy had to quickly rub at his leg, as it was like kicking a brick wall.

Goldenrod was matching Tommy blow for blow and caused Tommy to clutch his arms against his chest. The cyborg landed a powerful punch on Tommy's arms, causing the black ranger to go backwards.

Tommy groaned in pain and clutched at his wrists. Goldenrod growled as he moved his arms into attack position. Goldenrod went for another attack, but Tommy managed to spin out of the way. Tommy managed to land a few kicks and blows onto the cyborg, but Goldenrod quickly grabbed Tommy's shirt and kicked him in the stomach.

Once Goldenrod had a good grip, he tossed Tommy into the air like a rag doll. The black ranger landed on the ground with a vicious thud. Trent was shocked seeing his teacher being attacked and wanted to help.

Tommy was in pain but managed to crawl to the front of his jeep for cover. He quickly grabbed at his bracelet, "Better call for backup." He pressed the sides to sound the alert to the other rangers that he needed help.

Goldenrod quickly made his way towards Tommy, "You must be destroyed" and prepared to strike. Trent gasped, "Ah, no!" He had to do something to help… he leaped at Goldenrod and shoved the cyborg out the way.

Goldenrod was caught by surprise, but quickly rolled back onto his feet. Trent got into a protective stance as Tommy slowly got to his feet. Tommy clutched at Trent's arm, "No, Trent! Stay back!"

Trent insisted as he rushed forward, "I can help!" Tommy tried to stop him, but Trent began to fight Goldenrod.

Trent had martial art skills and managed to land a few kicks and blows on the cyborg. But Goldenrod was just too powerful… he quickly got the upper hand on Trent. He landed a hard kick on Trent's stomach, and picked up the young man. Tommy called out in concern, "Trent!" as Goldenrod placed Trent onto his shoulders, and violently spun Trent into the air.

Trent landed onto his stomach with a vicious thud and groaned from the pain. Goldenrod stalked forward, but Trent managed to quickly pull himself up.

Trent quickly spun and kicked at the cyborg. Goldenrod landed a kick and caused Trent to backflip. The cyborg caught Trent in mid-air and tossed the poor teen onto the ground again.

Tommy was still in a lot of pain and couldn't spring into action yet to help his poor student. Trent managed to crawl back towards the jeep… Goldenrod was about to attack the teen again when he was struck by several lasers.

Goldenrod flew backwards from the impact…Tommy turned to see that the other rangers finally arrived.

Goldenrod was surprised as the Power Rangers brought their cycles to a stop. The rangers quickly got off their cycles and went to check on their mentor/teammate.

Conner asked, "Are you okay?" Tommy nodded, "Yeah." Having Tommy's assurance that he was okay, the rangers rushed to assess the situation.

Kira was shocked to see Trent on the scene. She bent down in concern to check on him, "Trent! Are you all right?"

Trent groaned, but snapped out of it. He was surprised that the Yellow Ranger knew him, "Yea-what? Hey, how do you know my name?" Kira awkwardly replied, "Uh…" She had no idea how to explain herself.

Conner and Ethan quickly began to fight Goldenrod. The red and blue ranger both spun and landed their kicks on Goldenrod's chest. The two rangers managed to knock Goldenrod to the ground.

Suddenly, a portal opened, and Zeltrax landed in front of his son. Zeltrax rose to his feet, as Conner pointed at the silver cyborg, "I was wondering when you would show up."

Zeltrax wasn't interested in the younger rangers. Goldenrod got to his feet, and Zeltrax turned his head to his son, "You… return with me at once."

Goldenrod protested, "But Father… my mission is not complete." Zeltrax quickly ordered, "Now! Do as you're told."

Goldenrod raised his arm in respect, "Yes, Father." Zeltrax quickly opened a portal, and he and his son quickly retreated.

Conner was shocked, "Father? Did he just call him Father?" Ethan shrugged his shoulders, "I think so." They couldn't believe that Zeltrax had a son.

Back in Mesogog's lair, Elsa quipped as she found Zeltrax in the lab working on his son, "Well, that went well. Let me guess… you're going to make him stronger?!"

Zeltrax spun on his heel and snapped, "Listen… unless you have a better suggestion, I'd advise you to step back and stay out of the way."

Elsa raised her arms in frustration, "Fine! Just don't come crying to me when this thing blows up in your face!"

Zeltrax growled in frustration and turned back to his work. Elsa also groaned in frustration and walked away from the father and son.

After the other rangers made sure that Tommy and Trent were okay, Trent finally made it home. Anton was sitting in his office, looking over paperwork when he saw his son walking in.

Anton gave Trent a look, "You're home late." Trent pulled off his bag and apologized, "Yeah, Dr. Oliver gave me a ride. Had a little car trouble." There was no way Trent was about to explain that he and Dr. O got attacked by a gold cyborg and that the Power Rangers had to help them.

Anton continued to work and gave a terse "I see" He wasn't happy about his son associating with Tommy.

Trent pulled off his jacket and decided to ask, "Hey, Dad, how come you and he don't hang out anymore? I mean, I thought you guys were good friends?"

While Anton still respected his former friend, Tommy and the Power Rangers were Mesogog's greatest enemies. He simply explained to his son, "Trent, you'll find as you grow up, different people come in and out of your life. Dr. Oliver and I had our time, and now we've both moved on to different things."

Trent nodded, "I see." While he didn't agree with his father, he figured this was going to be the best answer he was going to get.

Anton had been working on his plans for his son all afternoon and decided to share them, "Speaking of moving on… I think I found a solution to your dilemma."

Trent quirked an eyebrow, "My dilemma?" He had no idea what his father was referring to.

Anton smiled as he straightened his tie, "Yeah, the Cybercafe. I've decided to buy it."

Trent was shocked, "What?!" He did not expect his father to do this.

Anton grinned, "A simple thank you will be just fine." He was rather pleased with himself… thinking that Trent would be happy.

Trent scoffed in disbelief… he was not happy with his father, "But, Dad- why'd you? I mean, how?" He was good friends with Hayley and knew how hard she had worked to start her business.

Anton looked over his paperwork, "Well, it seems the café is on land leased from the city. So, whoever owns the land decides what goes there and now I own the land." He then moved his papers towards Trent so he could read them.

Trent began to read the papers and asked, "What about Hayley? She's my boss, my friend."

Anton replied, "She's your friend, yes. Boss, definitely not. That will soon be you."

Trent protested, "I don't want to run the Cybercafe. I mean, I barely have enough time to work there now between my drawing and school."

Anton gave a look at his son, "Trent, I might be imagining things, but you sound amazingly ungrateful."

Trent tried to talk some sense into his father, "This isn't what I want. Doesn't that count for anything?!"

Anton tried to reason as well, "Of course it does, okay. I've already factored that into my decision and in the end, I've decided it's what's best for you. It's what's best for us as a family."

Trent was angry and felt awful about the situation his father put him into… how was he going to face Hayley once she found out?

The next afternoon, Hayley got the letter from Reefside City Hall, telling her the news about Anton's plans for her café.

Ethan, Tommy, and Kimberly were sitting at the counter when Hayley slammed the letter down. The redhead exclaimed, "I don't believe it!"

Tommy asked, "Junk mail?" Kimberly saw the look on Hayley's face, "I don't think it is. Hayley, what's going on?"

Hayley replied, "I wish. Check this out." She passed the letter towards Tommy and Kimberly so they could read it.

Ethan asked, "What's it say?" Hayley answered, "It's a letter from the city. Seems as of tomorrow, I have a new landlord."

Tommy finished reading the letter, "Not just any landlord… Anton Mercer." Kimberly's eyes went wide, "Your former boss, Tommy? What would Anton want with Hayley's business?"

Hayley revealed, "He's going to rebuild the whole café, and he's going to replace me." Ethan asked, "With who?"

Trent was walking in and overheard the conversation. Hayley saw Trent and pointed her eyes in his direction. The others turned and were shocked that Trent was going to be the one replacing Hayley.

Trent sighed, "So, you've heard." This was not the way he wanted to explain the situation.

Ethan gave Trent a look, "So, what's the deal, man? One rough day at the office, so your rich daddy buys it for you?"

Kimberly hissed at the blue ranger, "Ethan! Let him explain."

Trent sat down, "It's not like that. I had nothing to do with this." Hayley looked at the young man and could tell that Trent was being sincere.

Tommy replied, "Look, I got a friend at City Hall. I mean, maybe we can check out the deal and see if Mercer missed something."

Trent gave Tommy a look, "Look, you've known my dad long enough to know he doesn't make mistakes." In addition to being a brilliant scientist, Anton was a shrewd businessman… that was the main reason why the man was a billionaire.

Tommy shook his head, "No, I've known your dad long enough to know he does." Kimberly nodded, "We better head to City Hall right away." Tommy nodded in agreement and gave Ethan a look, "Come on" as the group got up and prepared to leave.

Trent replied, "Well, wait. I'm going with you. This is because of me. I'll do whatever it takes to fix this."

Hayley nodded in appreciation as Ethan quipped, "City Hall, here we come." Tommy grabbed the letter, and the group headed out the door.

Cassidy and Devin overheard the conversation. Cassidy's reporter radar was going off, "Did you hear that?"

Devin nodded, "Yeah. I mean, it really makes you feel like going out there and fighting for what's right."

Cassidy gave Devin a look, "Huh?" Devin quickly realized, "Oh, right… the report. Yeah, yo, we should probably get down there first." Cassidy nodded in agreement, "Yeah, it's perfect. It's got government, it's got action. Only thing is, what do you wear to City Hall? I mean, is it dressy?" Devin shrugged as he took a sip from his drink and followed Cassidy out the door.

After calling ahead, Tommy pulled up to City Hall. He parked his jeep, and the group piled out.

Trent replied, "Man, I hope there's something we can do." Tommy nodded in agreement, "Me too." Kimberly nodded as well, "Tommy, I'm just glad your friend agreed to meet with us. Hopefully, she'll be able to help."

The group headed towards the front steps and were met by an elegant woman in a red plaid dress.

The woman smiled and extended her hand to Tommy, "Dr. Oliver… my office said you were coming down."

Tommy smiled as he shook the lady's hand, "Councilwoman Sanchez… thanks for taking the time to talk to us."

Councilwoman Sanchez nodded… while she was a busy woman, she cared about the city and always tried to make herself available to listen to her constituents.

Suddenly, an invisiportal opened, and Zeltrax and Goldenrod appeared on the front steps. The group gasped in surprise, and Councilwoman Sanchez gasped in fear as she saw the two cybrogs. Trent quickly placed himself in a protective position in front of the councilwoman, while the others got into defensive positions.

Zeltrax alerted his son, "There!" Goldrenrod nodded, "I see them" The young cyborg quickly fired a yellow energy beam at the group below.

The beam exploded, causing the group to duck for cover. Trent and Councilwoman Sanchez rolled to the right, while Tommy, Ethan, and Kimberly had rolled to the left.

Goldenrod exclaimed, "I will make you proud, Father!" Trent looked up to see the two cyborgs, and knew the situation was dire.

Zeltrax turned to his son, "Do it!" Goldenrod nodded and fired another beam at the group. Everyone had to duck for cover again. Tommy exclaimed, "Trent, take Councilwoman Sanchez and Coach Hart to where it's safe!"

Trent hollered, "You got it! Come on!" He quickly began to lead Councilwoman Sanchez away and motioned for Kimberly to join him.

Kimberly gave Tommy a look, "I'm not leaving you." Tommy gently grabbed Kim's hand, "Please, Kim… go. Help Trent protect the Councilwoman. Let the rangers handle these jokers."

Kimberly shook her head, "Damn it… I hate it when you're right." Tommy gave a small smile as he kissed Kimberly's hand in relief. Kimberly planted a quick kiss Tommy's cheek, "Be careful, handsome… give those two hell for me." Kimberly began to run and quickly caught up to Trent and the councilwoman.

Trent, Councilwoman Sanchez, and Kimberly ran from the scene to try to get to safety. Cassidy and Devin arrived on the scene trying to get their scoop, "Yoo-hoo, council lady! Cassidy Cornell… we were here first!"

Goldenrod growled, "Intruders!" as Cassidy and Devin tried to run after Councilwoman Sanchez. They were now on the steps, directly in front of the cyborgs and in their line of fire.

The two friends gasped as they turned and finally noticed the cyborgs, as Goldenrod fired at the duo. Cassidy and Devin leaped over the railing and landed in the nearby bushes.

They had landed on their backs and groaned from the pain. Cassidy exclaimed as she pulled herself up, "This is why I hate bulletins! Let's get out of here! Come on!" The blonde quickly pulled Devin to his feet, and they quickly ran away. So much for their interview, they were going to have to figure out something else for their government project.

Tommy and Ethan quickly got into defensive positions, as Goldenrod charged at the two rangers.

Once they were a safe distance away from the fight at City Hall, Trent saw some nearby benches. He looked around, "This is safe" and motioned for the two women with him to sit down.

Kimberly gently got the councilwoman to sit down. Councilwoman Sanchez was grateful to be safe; she turned her head towards Trent, "Thank you so much… if there's ever anything I can do for you."

Trent realized this was the perfect opportunity to plead his case, "Actually, I'd like to speak with you about Hayley's Cyberspace."

Kimberly replied, "That's actually the reason we were coming to talk to you." Councilwoman Sanchez nodded her head for Trent to continue. Trent proceeded to sit down and began, "My father, Anton Mercer, he's making a terrible mistake." He began to share with the councilwoman that his father was about to destroy the business that Hayley had worked so hard to make a safe haven for the local teenagers.

As Trent talked to the councilwoman, Kimberly discreetly placed a hand on her wrist. She was wearing a silver and pink bracelet that Hayley had made for her to stay in contact with the rangers… she pressed the Dino Thunder logo that was engraved to alert Conner and Kira of the situation.

Tommy and Ethan began to fight Goldenrod. While the two rangers landed a few blows on the young cyborg, Goldenrod quickly blocked them.

Goldenrod had more endurance; he landed several powerful blows and was quickly able to drive the two rangers backwards. Tommy gave Zeltrax a glare, "Your son got a lot stronger."

Zeltrax pointed his sword towards his son and proudly said, "They grow up so fast, don't they?"

Conner and Kira finally arrived on the scene. Conner replied, "We heard you guys were here to fight City Hall." Kira gave a pointed look at the blue and black ranger, "They've must have meant fight right in front of it."

Tommy exclaimed, "You guys ready?" The other rangers nodded, "Ready!" The team summoned their morphers and hollered, "Dino Thunder, Power Up!" They quickly morphed into their ranger suits.

Zeltrax summoned a portal and brought a gang of Tyrannodrones to the fight, "Tyrannodrones! Attack! Destroy them!" With that order, Goldenrod pulled out his staff, and he and the Tyrannodrones rushed at the rangers.

The rangers quickly pulled out their weapons. Conner hollered, "Thundermax Saber!" and quickly used his saber to cut a path through the Tyrannodrones. Goldenrod then began to attack the red ranger with his staff, and Conner quickly used his saber to block.

Goldenrod continued to strike, so Conner had to backflip to dodge the blows. Conner managed to roll out of the way, and quickly got on his feet. Conner spun his legs as the cyborg tried to strike again. Conner spun his body around and landed a blow that blew Goldenrod backwards.

Conner leaped at the cyborg and landed a strike with his saber. Goldenrod was able to spin and landed a kick on Conner's stomach.

Conner was driven backwards and clutched at his chest from the impact. Goldenrod and Conner charged at each other… they leaped into the air and matched each other blow for blow. The two ended up backflipping, but quickly landed on their feet and resumed their fight on the ground.

Kira was surrounded by Tyrannodrones but was able to do a spin. She quickly summoned her primary weapons, "Ptera Grips! Come on!" She used her Ptera Grips to block and strike at the creatures.

Ethan cried, "Incoming!" as he fought a gang of Tyrannodrones in a nearby stairwell. He quickly landed several blows. Ethan then leaped off the ledge and aimed his blaster at the creatures below, "Firing!"

Tommy leaped at Zeltrax and caused the cyborg to lose his shield. Tommy locked the cyborg into a hold and quipped, "Hey, Zeltrax…you're sending your son to do what you couldn't." Zeltrax growled, "I will take you myself."

The cyborg quickly maneuvered himself out of the hold, and got his son's attention, "Goldenrod, attack the city!"

Goldenrod nodded, "Yes, Father!" and quickly kicked Conner away from him. The young cyborg retreated and teleported to the heart of the city.

Goldenrod grew, and towered over the city, "I'm larger than life!"

The rangers' eyes grew wide as they took in Goldenrod's new size, "Whoa!" "He's big!"

Goldenrod exclaimed, "I'm going to rock this city, yeah!" and prepared to cause destruction.

Tommy quickly spoke into his morpher, "That's our cue! Brachio… do your thing!"

Brachio arrived on the scene, bringing the Dino Zords with him. The Dino Zords growled and ran towards their masters.

The rangers exclaimed, "Dino Thunder Rangers, go!" and leaped into their zords.

They quickly formed the Megazord and cried, "Thundersaurus Megazord!" Goldenrod turned towards the Megazord, "Bring it on!"

The Megazord turned its' attention onto the cyborg. Conner quipped, "He doesn't look so big anymore! Let's take care of business, guys!"

Goldenrod then leaped and landed a hard kick on Tryanno's face, causing the Megazord to go backwards.

Zeltrax and Tommy continued to go it. Zeltrax had kicked Tommy into a nearby wall. Zeltrax rushed at the black ranger, but Tommy was able to quickly roll out of the way. Tommy brought his staff up to block and landed a hit on Zeltrax's stomach. Zeltrax stepped backwards, as Tommy rushed at him.

Goldenrod brought out his staff and twirled it around, "Prepare to be destroyed by Goldenrod!" He then proceeded to laugh manically, as the Megazord got its bearings.

Tommy brought his staff up to block, as Zeltrax attacked with his sword. Tommy managed to spin and land a kick on the cyborg's chest, driving Zeltrax backward.

The two continued to exchange blows. Tommy rushed forward and landed another kick to the cyborg's chest. Tommy brought his staff up and got Zeltrax in a saber lock. He used his speed to rush forward and dragged the cyborg along, "Give it up, Zeltrax!"

Zeltrax growled, "Never!" and managed to break the hold. He flipped Tommy over his head, but the black ranger quickly landed on his feet. Zeltrax rushed at him, but Tommy quickly used his staff to backhand the cyborg. Zeltrax was stunned as he spun backwards… Tommy quipped, "That's not my only trick!"

Meanwhile, Goldenrod was using his staff to land several hard blows onto the Megazord, "Say goodbye, Rangers!" He even knocked the Megazord to the ground. The rangers groaned as sparks flew in the cockpit.

The fight between Tommy and Zeltrax was getting more intense. The two rivals were matching blow per blow. Zeltax then managed to land a hit that knocked Tommy into a nearby pillar.

Tommy quickly rose to his feet, and the two continued to exchange blows. The two rivals landed solid kicks on each other that caused them to fly in opposite directions.

They quickly got up and rushed at each other; they ended up in another hold. Zeltrax growled, "Vengeance shall be mine at last." Tommy quipped, "You keep talking about vengeance… you sure you got the right guy?"

Zeltrax growled as he spun them around, "I know that you are my sworn enemy for life." Tommy replied as he moved their weapons downward, "I seriously don't know what you're talking about."

Zeltrax retorted, "Then I will explain it to you… after I make you watch my son destroy your beloved students. Too bad your little girlfriend escaped… she would have suffered the same fate."

Tommy broke the hold, and backflipped away, "Sorry… not going to happen!" He flipped off the nearby wall and used the momentum to leap forward. In mid-air, Tommy used his staff to land a powerful strike on the cyborg.

Zeltrax flew backwards and landed on the ground with a vicious thud. Tommy landed on his feet, and quickly turned his back on Zeltrax, "Nobody messes with my students! And don't you even think about harming Kimberly!"

Zeltrax groaned as the red energy from Tommy's strike sparked around him. He groaned as the energy exploded on him… Tommy quipped, "Later days, Zeltrax!"

Zeltrax moaned in pain on the ground… Tommy was surprised Zeltrax survived the blow. Tommy saw his students needed him and walked away from the cyborg. Zeltrax moaned as he watched the black ranger leave, "Wait… ughh. Come back and fight!"

Goldenrod continued to strike at the Megazord but stopped when he saw Tommy approaching. The rangers gasped, and Conner exclaimed, "It's Dr. O!"

Tommy exclaimed, "Whoa!" and had to roll out of the way when Goldenrod tried to stomp on him.

Tommy got back on his feet and decided to use his staff to end this fight. He turned the dial, and hollered, "Brachio Staff… Wind Strike!"

Tommy quickly brought his staff to the ground, as a wave of purple energy caused a huge gust of wind to surround the cyborg. Goldenrod went backwards in pain.

Tommy turned the dial to change the setting, "Earthquake… strike now!" He brought his staff to the ground again, and this time it caused a massive earthquake, leaving a huge fissure in the ground.

Goldenrod groaned as he fell into the giant fissure. The rangers cheered, "Yeah!" "Sweet!" "All right!"

Tommy turned the dial for his final strike, "Fire Strike, Ready!" He brought his staff into the fissure he had created and sent a massive wave of fire. Tommy cried, "Full Power!" It caused his fire wave to become even more powerful… Goldenrod hollered in pain as the intense fire wave blew him out of the fissure and exploded on impact. The rangers cheered, "Yeah!" and were relieved that Goldenrod was gone.

Zeltrax was devastated by his son's destruction, "You were the only family I have ever known. I will have my revenge upon you, Dr. Tommy Oliver!" Now the cyborg hated Tommy even more for what he had done to Goldenrod.

After the battle was done, Trent had returned home to talk to his father. Trent walked into Anton's office, "Dad, we need to talk. You're not going to be happy, but there's something I've done."

Trent looked around the office, but his father was nowhere to be found. Trent was shocked as an invisi-portal opened in the office. He looked at the portal and asked himself, "What is it?"

Out of curiosity, Trent reached his hand towards the strange portal. The portal quickly sucked Trent in, and transported him away.

Anton walked into the Cyberspace, with his people, ready to start remodeling the place. Anton ordered, "Okay, let's get these walls torn out. We can save the computers."

Hayley approached the billionaire and shook her head, "Hang on… you don't own it yet."

Anton gave the redhead a look, "Hayley… you know as much as I hate to say this, you really can't fight City Hall."

Councilwoman Sanchez saw the whole scene from the counter, "I wouldn't be so sure of that, Dr. Mercer."

Anton cleared his throat, in an effort to control Mesogog, and crossed his arms. The councilwoman continued as she made her way to stand by Hayley, "My name is Eleanor Sanchez, councilwoman for the 33rd district. It is with great pleasure I inform you that the City Council has voted to put your purchase of this land on hold."

Tommy and Kimberly made their way, hand in hand, to stand behind Hayley and the councilwoman. Anton gave Tommy a hard look, "You're a part of this?!"

Tommy nodded and returned Anton's stare. He wasn't about to let his former friend intimidate him.

Councilwoman Sanchez revealed, "Actually, we have your son to thank." Anton groaned; he should have known Trent would get involved.

The councilwoman continued as the rangers and the other teenagers began to rally around the adults in support, "He made me realize that a place like this… a safe haven for learning and interaction for the youth of our community is something that shouldn't be disturbed or changed in any way."

Anton tried to reason, "I was only trying to do what's best for my son." The councilwoman rolled her eyes, as Anton looked around the café.

Anton realized he was beaten… outsmarted by his own son and former friend. He simply replied, "Well, I'll just be going then." He turned on his heels, reached into his pockets for his phone, and headed out the door. Everyone cheered at their victory.

Anton walked outside and was calling his driver, "Bring the car back here… there's been a change of plans." Anton had his back turned, just as the invisiportal brought Trent to the Cyberspace.

Trent gasped in surprise and was shocked to be at the café. Ethan went outside to cheer, "Yeah! We did it, baby!"

Anton heard Ethan's cheer as he was walking away… it took everything in him to control Mesogog. Trent could tell his father was angry and felt torn. While he knew he did the right thing, he hated that he had went against his father.

Ethan saw Trent and waved at him, "Dude, come on! We won… get in here!" Trent nodded, "Okay, I'll be right there."

Trent stared as his father kicked a plastic chair in frustration… he needed a moment to get his bearings. He still couldn't believe he found a strange portal in his father's office. He now wondered what his father was up to… Trent had no idea his father was living a double life. He also had no clue, that soon, his own life was about to drastically change.

I've been off the past few days, and right now Texas is experiencing some nasty winter weather. It's freezing, and it actually snowed in my hometown. Thank goodness, I don't have to work, and the sun is now shining. Hopefully tomorrow the weather will improve, but it's crazy how cold it got. It's a rare event to get snow... and I've only seen it a total of 3 times. Hopefully, I can have another update up very soon! Take care!
