Beneath the Surface

The rangers were hanging out at the Cyberspace after school. Ethan was playing a game on his computer, and was being rather loud, "Come on! Oh, no you didn't! Eat laser, you intergalactic freak! Yeah!"

Conner and Kira were sitting nearby their loud friend and trying to work on their schoolwork. Conner was beginning to get annoyed, "Dude, do you mind?"

Ethan wasn't paying attention… he cheered loudly, "Yeah! Made it to level 12!" Conner had enough to Ethan's antics… he reached over and shut down Ethan's computer.

Ethan exclaimed as he turned his head toward Conner, "Hey! What are you doing?"

Conner shook his head as he replied, "I can't concentrate with you blowing things up in my ear."

Ethan groaned, "But it took me 3 hours to get to that level."

Kira rolled her eyes at the boys, "Sorry, but I'm with Conner on this one. We got a paper due tomorrow, and why aren't you working on yours?"

Ethan turned to answer Kira, "Finished it last week. Trent and I jammed on it while you guys were out being David Beckham and-"

Kira snapped, "Oh, don't even say it." She hated being compared to Avril Lavigne.

Ethan awkwardly turned his head away, "Wasn't going to."

At the mention of Trent, Kira began to look around the café for him, "Where's Trent anyway? I thought he was working today."

Conner answered, "Hayley gave him the day off. I think he's spending some quality time with his dad." From what Trent had mentioned, Conner knew that things were still awkward between the father and son.

Meanwhile, at the Mercer Mansion, Trent was in his father's office. He was looking around and trying to find the spot where he had found the portal.

Trent replied to himself, "Okay, I know I'm not losing my mind. It was right around here." He closed his eyes to concentrate on the memory.

His memory quickly went to when he put his hand through the portal, and then landed outside of the Cyberspace. He remembered the look on his father's face as he left the café after his defeat.

Suddenly, Anton's voice interrupted, "Trent… Trent?" Trent's concentration broke and quickly opened his eyes to find that his father was now in the office.

Anton asked, "Can I help you with something?" He wondered what his son was doing in his office.

Trent shook his head, "There's some weird stuff going on here, Dad. I swear, I went through some sort of interdimensional doorway."

Anton stayed calm… the last thing he wanted was for his son to find out about his double life, "You know, I got to say, I'm worried about you, son. You're working till all hours at the coffeehouse. Obviously, you're not thinking straight." He headed to his desk, "I'm going to make an appointment for you with my doctor."

Trent sharply turned his head and snapped, "I don't need a doctor." He turned his head back to the spot where the portal had been, "I need an explanation. I think you owe that to me."

That angered Anton… he sharply turned towards his son, "Perhaps you can explain something to me… when did it become acceptable to speak that way to your father."

Trent shook his head and insisted, "All these other projects you're involved in… there's some weird stuff going on here, Dad."

Anton replied, "Whatever goes on around here, I can assure you, it's for the betterment of mankind." Anton was determined to make things right and would continue to work on a way to rid himself of Mesogog for good. "And I promise, you will feel the same way… in time."

Trent sharply turned his head and gave his father an incredulous look, "In time? When?" He wanted the truth.

Anton answered, "When you're ready." Trent shook his head in frustration, as Anton made his way towards his son, "Someday, all I have will belong to you. It's a great responsibility, son, and one that we must prepare you for. We'll begin that process soon."

Anton proceeded to place a hand on his son's shoulders, "Now, why don't you go out for a swim? We have the nicest pool in town, and you never use it." He gave his son a small smile and headed out of the office. He hoped he had said enough for his son to stop digging.

Trent was left even more confused by his father's cryptic words… he became determined to figure out the truth.

In Mesogog's fortress, Zeltrax entered the lab to talk to Elsa. The cyborg approached Elsa, who was hard at work on her own project, "Elsa, I have an idea for a horrible new creature. Lord Mesogog will be pleased."

Elsa rolled her eyes as she continued to work, "Typical. Send a mutation down to do what you can't."

Zeltrax insisted, "I can do it, but this creature-" Elsa quickly interrupted, "Your creatures are as pathetic as you are."

Zeltrax bristled at the insult, and retorted, "At least, I have a plan, Elsa… do you?"

Elsa sharply turned to face the cyborg, "Of course I do!" Zeltrax was surprised at that… Elsa smirked, "But mine is much more subtle." She showed Zeltrax the Dino Zord egg she was making, "And much more dangerous."

The following day, Tommy was in his classroom preparing to take his students on a field trip to a local dinosaur dig site. Tommy was dressed in traditional dig site clothes and excited to share this experience with his class, "All right, there's only so much you can learn in the classroom. Who's ready for some field work?"

The kids were excited to get out of class for a while, and quickly headed to the bus. Cassidy approached Tommy, "Dr. Oliver, may we have permission to film today's dig for journalism class? It's just, I think it will be good for my career if I start focusing on more exciting things like nature and science."

Tommy looked at Cassidy, knowing the blonde was trying to sweet-talk him as she never expressed this much interest in class, as he continued to put his supplies into his pockets. Devin overheard and was confused, "But, Cass, I thought you'd said this stuff was as dull as dirt."

Tommy quirked an eyebrow as Cassidy sharply told her friend, "Uh, actually, Devin, I was talking about our last conversation." She motioned for Devin to leave, so he wouldn't screw things up.

Tommy chuckled to himself and smiled, "Relax, Cassidy. You can film the dig." Cassidy gave a huge smile in thanks and followed Devin to the bus.

Tommy went ahead and grabbed his briefcase from his desk. He turned and was surprised to see Principal Randall, all dressed up in her own (and slightly over-the-top) dig site clothes. Randall gave Tommy a smile, "Dr. Oliver."

Tommy wasn't expecting Randall to show up to his classroom, "Principal Randall." He stared at her get-up, "Are you in a play?"

Randall sauntered towards Tommy and showed off her supplies, "No… I'm here to join you on your field trip."

Tommy wasn't expecting that… Randall had never expressed interest in the field trip before and didn't appear to be the type of woman who liked getting down and dirty at a dig site. "I didn't realize you were interested in dinosaur bones."

Randall was coy… it was obvious she was trying to flirt, "Hmm… you'd be surprised at what interests me."

Tommy felt very awkward… he replied, "Yeah, uh, I probably would. Uh, Coach Hart is going to be my assistance on this trip, but the more the merrier."

Randall grinned, "Shall we?" Tommy nodded, "Yeah, the bus is right outside."

Randall was downright chipper as she gave another flirtatious grin, "You can dazzle me with fascinating fossil facts on the way."

Tommy adjusted his glasses as he followed Randall out the door… Randall was definitely acting strange. He wasn't used to Randall being nice, and he felt even more awkward that she was flirting with him. There was only one woman he had eyes for, and he knew Kimberly was not going to be happy about Randall joining them. Tommy suspected this was going to be one interesting field trip.

By the time the bus arrived at the dig site, Kimberly was shooting arrows with her eyes at Randall and was darkly wishing she had her old Power Bow. Kimberly had planned on sitting with Tommy on the bus ride, but Randall had quickly taken the seat next to him. Kimberly was forced to watch Randall flirt with Tommy the entire trip, and she was beyond pissed off at the principal.

Kimberly wasn't normally a jealous person, but it killed her to see Randall being so flirty with Tommy. It seemed Tommy didn't mind the attention, but Kimberly had to remind herself that he was just being polite. Tommy had always been oblivious to his good looks and wasn't always aware when other women were flirting with him. Even in their high school days, Tommy was clueless that Kat had a huge crush on him. Tommy and Kat didn't even start dating until well into their Zeo days, and only after Kimberly had broken his heart. Now she wondered if this is how Tommy felt when she had sent him the letter.

While the students were hard at work, Randall went to check in on Tommy. Tommy was hard at work, digging up fossils inside one of the pits, "Look what I found."

Randall pretended to be fascinated, "Oh?!" as Tommy continued to examine the fossil, "This is a trilobite… it's from the Paleozoic era. Which makes it about…" He quickly blew the dirt off his fingers, "300 million years old." He passed the fossil over to Randall so she could look at it.

Randall played up her interest as she used her magnifying class to study the fossil, "Hmm… amazing. Well, it doesn't look a day over 200 million."

Tommy smiled as he chuckled at Randall's joke, as he continued to clean himself up. Randall leaned over and extended her hand to help Tommy get out of the pit, "Here." Tommy accepted Randall's friendly gesture, and went ahead and climbed up.

Once he was upright, Tommy nodded in appreciation, "Thank you." Randall gave a flirty smile, "My pleasure."

Cassidy was standing nearby the camera equipment, and slowly rose to her feet seeing the interaction between Tommy and Randall. She was not the only one… Cassidy could see the upset look on Kimberly's face.

Devin wasn't paying attention as he was concentrating on a flower he had found, "Come on, little flower…. open up, open up." Cassidy was excited as she asked, "Did you just see that?" She gave a knowing look as Randall was now trying to help brush off the dirt on Tommy's clothes, "Principal Randall is totally into Dr. Oliver… and it seems she's not the only one. Coach Hart is staring daggers at them!"

Devin was shocked, "What?" Cassidy pointed in the teachers' direction so Devin could see, "Over there!"

Devin went ahead and looked at the teachers… he still couldn't believe it, "What… no way! Randall?! Now Coach Hart, I can believe. Dr. O and Coach H do spend time together outside of school."

Cassidy shook her head at her friend's cluelessness, "Love is right in front of your eyes, and you don't even see it."

Devin replied, "To be honest, Cass, I don't even think that Randall is capable of that emotion."

Cassidy gave a wider grin at that, "Well, that makes it an even better story, doesn't it? This is going to be great for the gossip report."

Devin was more interested in his flower, "Yeah… but what about my time-lapsed flower shot?"

Cassidy groaned… she wanted Devin to focus on their newest scoop. She bent down and plucked the flower from the ground. Devin exclaimed, "Hey!" as Cassidy quickly pulled the petals apart, "There… now it's lapsed for sure."

Devin sadly moaned, "My flower." He was disappointed that Cassidy ruined it for him. Cassidy walked off and was now brainstorming, "Come on Devin… just think of the headline. The Randall Scandal… whoa! That's brilliant!"

Ethan was digging, and realized he was digging up a Dino Zord egg. He quickly hollered to Conner and Kira, "Hey, you guys! Over here!" He continued to remove the dirt around the egg, "Check it out… I think I found something."

Conner and Kira came over and bent down to look. Conner asked, "Great, what is it?" The rangers realized that they needed to get Tommy to check it out.

Randall was continuing to brush Tommy off… Tommy gently grabbed the handkerchief from Randall's hand, "It's okay… really." As he began to wipe his face, Tommy saw the look on Kimberly's face. Oh, man… I'm in trouble. Kimberly looks pissed off. I know Randall is being overly friendly with me, but is Kim actually jealous?

Kira ran up to the scene, "Dr. Oliver?" She quirked an eyebrow at the attention Randall was giving to Tommy, but quickly continued, "We need some help identifying something. We think it might be a morph-a-saurus."

Tommy quickly caught Kira's meaning, "Sure… I'll be right there." He returned the handkerchief back to Randall, "Excuse me." Randall groaned in frustration, as Tommy followed Kira.

Kira quickly led Tommy to where the boys were digging. Tommy asked, "What have you got?"

Ethan pulled the egg from the ground, and showed it to Tommy, "Well… I think it might be a Dino Zord egg."

Tommy exclaimed, "Careful!" as Ethan handed over the egg to him. He quickly began to study the egg… sure enough, it appeared to be a Dino Zord egg.

Randall surprised the rangers as she walked up to them. She was fascinated with the egg, "Ooh! A discovery! How exciting."

Tommy saw the curious look in Randall's eyes and tried to downplay the discovery, "No. Uh, well… we're not sure what it is."

Randall gave a look as she pointed at the item, "It looks like a prehistoric egg." She gently extended her hand, "May I?"

Tommy was uncertain if Randall should handle the egg, "Well… uh." Randall gave a reassuring smile, "Don't worry… I won't drop it."

Tommy reluctantly handed over the egg, and Randall began to stare at it. Tommy didn't want anything to happen to the egg and insisted, "I really should take that back to the school lab and examine it."

Randall nodded, "But of course… here." She began to return the egg. Suddenly the Tyrannodrones appeared on the scene.

The rangers were surprised to see the creatures, as the other students began to run for cover.

Tommy nodded his head at the other rangers, and they nodded in return. It was time to go to work… they had to protect the egg and the other students.

Randall exclaimed in surprise as the Tyrannodrones approached her and Tommy. Tommy quickly kicked the creatures away. Randall still had the egg, so Tommy quickly grabbed Randall's wrist and began to lead her away.

Devin saw the Tyrannodrones and quickly began to get his camera equipment, "I am so out of here!" Cassidy yelled, "Devin!" Devin was startled, as Cassidy whirled him around to stop him, "Hello! Where do you think you're going? We've got an exclusive here."

Devin nodded, "Oh, oh… right." He quickly began to reset his camera. Cassidy hurriedly said, "Yeah, now hurry up!" She did not want to miss a second for her news report.

Conner was balancing on one of the wooden beams that helped divide the dig site. The Tyrannodrones approached the red ranger and began to attack. Conner managed to duck and keep his balance… he quickly shoved one of the creatures into the pit in front of them. Conner backflipped and landed into the pit behind him. He had more traction and was able to defend himself better.

Tommy did not lessen his grip on Randall and continued to guard her and the egg. As the Tyrannodrones approached them, Tommy was able to kick backwards and even managed to flip one with his feet.

Kira was grateful to be the agile one on the team… Kimberly had taught the yellow ranger some of her old gymnastic tricks. She cartwheeled her away through the Tyrannodrones. She then spun and landed a powerful punch that caused a Tyrannodrone to land inside a wheelbarrow.

Ethan landed a few powerful punches on the creatures. He was grateful for Kimberly's training as he performed a back-hand spring off one of the wooden boards. Ethan landed safely in the pits… he quickly outmaneuvered a leaping Tyannodrone, who crashed into the pit walls.

Conner quickly spun… his hands touched the wooden beams, and he used the momentum to backflip his way out of the pit. Once his feet were on the surface, he quickly landed several powerful kicks and blows on the creatures. He used one of the nearby sifters to shove several Tyrannodrones away. He even kicked a Tyrannodone into one of the muddiest pits.

Ethan landed several powerful punches on the Tyrannodrones. One got a grip on Ethan, but he managed to flip himself over the creature's back. Ethan quickly flipped the Tyrannodrone into the ground. From behind, Ethan heard a Tyranodrone land on one of the wooden boards and quickly landed a punch on the creature's legs.

Tommy and Randall were now by the pits and were surrounded by the creatures. Tommy continued to kick and punch at the Tyrannodrones. Randall shrieked, "Help!" as she waved her arms to keep her balance. The principal was dangerously close to falling into the pits. Tommy quickly scooped Randall into his arms… Randall was shocked and hollered, "Dr. Oliver!" as Tommy proceeded to spin her legs around to drive the creatures away.

Tommy quickly spun Randall into the air and landed several blows on the Tryannodrones. Randall shrieked as she was free-falling… Tommy quickly caught her and set the shocked principal back onto her feet. Once Tommy was certain that Randall was okay, he spun and landed a powerful kick.

Kimberly had just done a back-hand spring and looked up and saw the whole scene between Tommy and Randall. This caused the original pink ranger's temper to flare up. She quickly spun and landed several powerful punches and kicks on the creatures to let out her anger.

Tommy ended up looking in Kimberly's direction and saw the fury in her eyes. Oh, shit… now I know Kimberly's pissed. She's definitely going all Pink Ranger on the Tyrannodrones. This is not good… I'm going to have some major explaining to do later.

Kira landed a powerful kick, and quickly had to duck as a Tyrannodrone leaped at her. She flipped one into the pits and spun another one away from her. The creature that she had spun hit the wooden beams with a vicious thud and landed in the other pit.

Devin had his camera rolling. Cassidy did not want him to miss a second of the action, "Over there!" Devin nodded, "We're rolling, yeah!" and moved the camera in the direction Cassidy was pointing at.

Ethan had pushed a Tyrannodrone off his back and ended up shoving the creature into Randall. Randall shrieked as she lost her balance and her grip on the egg.

Tommy turned when he heard Randall's shouts. He looked up to see the egg was flying in the air, "The egg!" and leaped to try to catch it.

Randall had her arms outstretched as she fell, and Tommy ended up crashing into her. The two rolled as they landed on the ground. Randall had awkwardly landed on top of Tommy, which caused the black ranger to look up at his boss in surprise. Randall looked up and saw where the egg was landing, "The egg! I'll get it!" She quickly pulled herself up and began to run for the egg.

Tommy quickly rose to his feet but had to defend himself as more Tyrannodrones began to attack him. With Tommy fighting, it gave Randall enough cover to get to the egg.

A Tryannodrone began to chase Randall, but the principal had ducked just in time. The creature flipped over the mound, and Randall was able to retrieve the egg.

Randall hollered, "Dr. Oliver! Catch!" Tommy turned his head just in time, as Randall tossed the egg in his direction.

It was a perfect throw and Tommy safely caught the egg. He quickly inspected the egg, and it appeared to be okay. The Tyrannodrones had retreated, so Randall quickly began to walk back to Tommy.

Tommy replied to the principal, "Good throw! Are you okay?" Randall nodded, "I think so." Tommy looked around to make sure things were safe, "We better get back to school."

The rangers and Kimberly were walking up, and Randall stopped them in their tracks. The principal had noticed their fighting skills and was awfully curious, "Would you mind explaining to me where you learned to fight like that?"

Conner awkwardly answered, "Uh… karate club." Kira and Ethan both nodded, "Yeah" "Right" The rangers quickly made their way to the bus… they realized they had been close to blowing their cover.

Randall gave Tommy a look as she grabbed his shoulder, "Do we even have one of those?" Tommy just shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know… I'm still new here." Tommy then proceeded to follow the rangers.

Kimberly tried to walk past Randall, but the principal stopped her as well, "And where did you learn how to fight, Coach Hart?" Kimberly let out a sly smirk and pointed her eyes in Tommy's direction, "Who do you think taught me?" Randall frowned at that… causing Kimberly to smirk again as she walked away, If Randall thinks she has a chance with Tommy, she's got another thing coming. There's something about her that I don't trust, and I'll be damned if I let her get her claws into the man I love.

Once things had settled, the rangers managed to take the egg to the Dino Lab to study it. Ethan was in the process of scanning the egg, and the readings began to appear on the computers. The rangers were huddled around as Ethan was working.

Conner asked, "So, what's up?" Kira was curious as well, "You got anything?"

Ethan continued to scan the egg, "I don't know. Something's not right. I can't detect any signs of life."

Tommy slowly rose, "That's weird. I'm sure that's a Dimetrozord egg."

Conner questioned, "Dimetrozord?" This was the first that the rangers had ever heard of that zord.

Tommy answered, "It's developed from the Dimetrodon. It's really amazing."

Kira replied, "That would explain why the Tyrannodrones want it." Tommy nodded in agreement, "Yeah" Now the rangers had to figure out what was going on with the egg.

Meanwhile, Randall had returned to the empty dig site. She headed towards the mound where she had rescued the egg and quipped to herself, "The things I do. Now, where's that egg?"

She quickly found the real egg, "Aha! There you are my precious." Randall bent down to pick up the egg, and as she rose to her feet, the principal's appearance quickly changed revealing herself to be Elsa.

In her human days, Elsa had been a teacher with credentials to become principal of her own school. Her past made Elsa the perfect spy to keep an eye on the Power Rangers at their high school.

Tommy was studying the monitors and noticed the alert. He turned in his seat to face the rangers, "This is strange. I'm still getting a heat signal from the dig site where we found the egg."

Kira gave a look, "But the egg's not even there anymore." Ethan tried to reason, "Maybe there's another one."

Tommy replied, "I better go check it out. You guys stay here and keep analyzing this one." The rangers nodded in agreement as Tommy headed to his vehicle. They had no clue the real egg was already in Elsa's clutches.

Elsa had made her way to a secluded part of the forest and had set the egg on the ground, "Oh, what a prize. My very own Dino Zord." She pulled out a small hand-held controller and sent a beam of purple energy at the egg.

The beam began to work on the egg. Elsa cried, "Rise up, my beauty, and take form!" The egg hatched and released the powerful and untamed Dimetrozord.

The Dimetrozord ended up knocking Elsa backwards. The villainess cried after the zord, "Now go! And Destroy!" Dimetrozord growled and headed on his way… the zord was now under Elsa's control.

Tommy arrived at the dig site and parked his vehicle in a nearby clearing. He was about to head to the location where the egg had been found, but suddenly a portal opened bringing Zeltrax onto the scene.

Tommy eyed the cyborg, "Zeltrax… I thought I'd smelled something."

Zeltrax retorted as he cracked his knuckles, "I believe that would be your imminent demise."

Tommy quipped, "I don't have time to trade insults. Now, out of my way. I have something important to do."

Zeltrax growled, "That will have to wait. First, we must attend to your destruction!"

Tommy rolled his eyes, "Fine… but don't say I didn't warn you."

Zeltrax pulled out his sword, as Tommy summoned his morpher, "Dino Thunder, Power Up!" and quickly morphed into his ranger suit. Once Tommy was fully morphed, the two rivals immediately began to battle.

Meanwhile, the other rangers continued to study the egg in their possession. Ethan replied, "Guys, I really don't think there's a Dino Zord in here."

The rangers looked up as the monitors alerted them of the real Dimetrozord's rampage. Conner quipped, "Well, there's one!"

Kira gave a questioning look, "But how?" Conner gave the egg a look, "Can't we-" and nodded his head as Ethan finished, "Open it?"

Ethan proceeded to open the egg, and all three rangers were surprised when they saw a glowing light coming from it.

The rangers gasped as a hologram of Elsa appeared. The Elsa hologram taunted, "Not what you'd expected, Rangers!" The Elsa hologram then let out an evil laugh and disappeared.

Kira placed a hand on her hip and quipped, "Okay, can I just say I am so over the evil laugh thing."

Ethan replied, "Man, that's messed up. How'd she'd do that?!" He was shocked that Elsa had been able to fool them.

The alarms blared again, and the Rangers saw on the monitors that Dimetrozord was revving his sawblade and attacking a nearby Japanese-style building.

Conner exclaimed, "We better get the Zords… it's attacking Little Tokyo. Come on!"

The rangers stepped backwards and got into their stances. Conner brought his arm up and cried, "Ready?" Ethan and Kira nodded, "Ready!" The rangers summoned their morphers, "Dino Thunder, Power Up!" and quickly got into their suits.

The rangers arrived on the scene to find Dimetrozord still causing trouble. Conner cried, "There it is!" as the Dino Zords growled and rushed at the rogue zord.

Tricera and Ptera struck first at Dimetrozord. Dimetrozord reared back but revved up his saw.

The rangers groaned as Dimetrozord struck at the two zords. The rogue zord landed a powerful blow with his saw, causing Tricera and Ptera to fly backwards. Tyranno Zord was now the only one standing, and the two zords continued to bite and fight with each other. Dimetrozord butted heads with Tyranno causing Ethan to groan, "Oh! Brutal!" Dimetrozord was a vicious fighter, and the rangers knew they needed to find a way to stop it.

Tommy and Zeltrax were still going at it. Zeltrax landed several blows with his sword onto Tommy. Tommy groaned from the viciousness of the attack, as Zeltrax landed one powerful blow onto his shoulder.

Tommy landed on his stomach with a vicious thud. Zeltrax growled, "If you know what's good for you, you'll stay away from her." Zeltrax was referring to Elsa… he was jealous that Elsa had been flirting with Tommy while she had been in her Randall disguise. He was in love with Elsa and did not take kindly that that his love interest appeared to prefer his rival over him.

Tommy managed to turn his head upwards in confusion, "Who?" Tommy had no clue to who the cyborg was referring to.

Zeltrax powered up his sword and prepared to finish Tommy once and for all, "I have been dreaming of this." He fired the deadly blue energy beam at the black ranger.

Tommy quickly rolled out the beam's way. He managed to get back on his feet and leaped at the cyborg. Tommy's legs landed a solid hit on Zeltrax's chest, knocking him backwards.

Zeltrax rolled back onto his feet and sent another energy beam at Tommy. He landed a direct hit on the black ranger, causing Tommy to fall to the ground.

Zeltrax charged, but Tommy quickly grabbed his staff. Tommy turned the dial and hollered, "Brachio staff… wind strike!"

A huge gust of wind blew Zeltrax backwards and knocked the cyborg to the ground. Before he could get up, a portal opened and quickly took Zeltrax away from the scene.

Tommy had risen to his feet and cried, "Power Down!" He returned to normal, and stared at the spot where Zeltrax had been, "What's his problem?"

Zeltrax landed with a vicious thud in front of his master. From the floor he cried, "Lord Mesogog, I was moments from destroying the black ranger for you."

Mesogog snapped as he rose to his feet, "It didn't look that way to me. It looked like he was getting the best of you. Next time you battle, I would suggest you leave your petty jealously out of it."

Zeltrax groaned, but quickly denied, "Jealously? But I-" Mesogog coolly replied as he returned to his seat, "We'll discuss your punishment later. The new Dino Zord has the rangers on the ropes. Send one of our mutations down to finish the job."

Zeltrax slowly rose to his feet… Tommy had indeed done a job on him, "Right away… my lord."

The rangers cheered, "Come on, Tyranno Zord!" "Yeah!" as Tyranno continued to hold his own with the rogue zord. Dimetrozord and Tyranno continued to bite and growl at each other.

Both zords took a step back from each other. Dimetrozord revved up his saw, while Tyranno spun and powered up his tail.

Dimetrozord's saw stopped Tyranno's tail in its tracks. The rogue zord head-butted Tyranno and knocked the Red Dino Zord to the ground.

Tyranno's tail sparked, and the poor zord couldn't get up. Dimetrozord growled, and then burrowed himself underground.

Conner and Ethan were shocked, "Whoa!" "He's gone!" They couldn't believe Dimetrozord had knocked their zords around.

Suddenly a huge booming caused the ground to shake, and nearly knocked the rangers off their feet. The rangers were surprised, "Whoa!" "What is it?!"

The rangers looked up to see the giant Scorpex monster approaching the scene. Scorpex cried, "Targets located!"

The monster laughed and showed off his weapons. The rangers were shocked as their zords were still down. Conner exclaimed, "Now what do we do?!"

Scorpex got into an attack position. Conner cried, "Dino Zords now!" He and the other rangers sent their thoughts to the zords to get up.

Thankfully, the Dino Zords had been able to get their bearings and rushed back into battle. Ethan hollered, "Let's go!" and the rangers leaped into the zords.

The rangers quickly formed the Megazord. Scorpex got into attack position just as the Megazord turned itself to face the monster.

Conner nodded to the yellow ranger, "Do it, Kira!" Kira was ready to perform her signature move, "Ptera-rang!"

The Megazord launched the Ptera-rang, but Scorpex batted the Ptera-rang away with his blade-like hands.

Kira was shocked that the Ptera-rang didn't even land a blow, "Oh, no!"

Ethan decided to make a move, "Tricera Fist!" The Megazord swung the Tricera Fist, but Scorpex quickly batted it away. The monster spun around and used his spiky tail to land a hard blow on the Megazord. Scorpex proceeded to use his hands to land more devasting blows… the rangers groaned as sparks flew in the cockpit.

Tommy was back in the Dino Lab, and was seeing everything on the screens. He replied, "I don't think the Thundersaurus is powerful enough. You need something that can break through its armor."

Conner cried, "Like what?" The rangers didn't have anything like that in their arsenal.

Kimberly entered the lab at that moment. Despite how upset she was with Tommy she wasn't about to let down the rangers. Kimberly observed the monitors and studied the monster's armor, "You need like a blade or a saw."

An idea quickly came to Tommy, "Wait a minute… you got to use the Dimetrozord."

Conner was shocked, "What?" Tommy replied, "The Dino Zord you were just fighting."

Conner quipped, "Dr. O if you haven't noticed, he's not exactly playing well with others."

Tommy answered, "Let me see if I can do something about that." Kimberly quirked an eyebrow at that, "Tommy, what are you going to do?"

Tommy replied, "I am going to try to get Dimetrozord tamed." He grabbed his bracelet and summoned his morpher, "Got to concentrate." He put all his focus on getting the rogue zord under control.

Elsa sent another blast from her controller as Dimetrozord returned to the battle scene, "You are under my control!"

The Megazord turned its head, just at Dimetrozord growled and revved up his saw. Dimetrozord leaped and used his saw to land several powerful strikes on the Megazord.

The rangers groaned as Dimetrozord landed one last strike that caused the Megazord to tumble into the ground.

Dimtrozord growled, as he and Scorpex approached the fallen Megazord. Elsa smirked in satisfaction, "Well done! Now finish them."

Scorpex laughed manically as he stomped his foot on the Megazord's back. The rangers groaned at the impact.

Kimberly cried, "No! Tommy, hurry up… the rangers need that zord."

Tommy mumbled in concentration, "Come on…" Finally, the Dimetrozord button appeared on his morpher… Elsa's purple energy broke away from the Dimetrozord. She was no longer in control of the zord.

Tommy cheered in relief, "Oh, yes! Got him!" Now that he was under the rangers' control, Dimetrozord revved up his saw and attacked Scorpex.

Scorpex groaned in pain and was knocked to the ground. Dimetrozord's assist gave the Megazord a chance to get back on its feet.

The rangers cheered, "Way to go!" "Awesome!" "All right!" They were relieved to have the new Dino Zord on their side.

Tommy replied, "He's all yours, guys. And wait till you see what he can do."

The Megazord quickly retracted Tyranno's tail, and Dimetrozord joined the Megazord as a powerful saw-blade arm.

Scorpex brought up his blades to attack, but the Megazord quickly used their new Dimetro-blade and blocked the monster's attack. The powerful blade caused Scorpex's blade to break.

Scorpex groaned in surprise. Conner cheered, "Oh, yeah!" Kira raised her arms in approval, "I love it!" as the Dimetro-blade broke the monster's other blade.

Scorpex growled, "Now I'm really mad!" Ethan quipped, "Oh, you want some more?!"

The Megazord swung the Dimetro-Blade and landed a direct hit on Scorpex's center. The monster groaned in pain as he stepped backwards.

The Megazord proceeded to fire a Tyranno fireball at Scorpex. Scorpex continued to groan as sparks flew around him.

Conner was ready to end the battle as he ordered, "Dimetro-Blade!" Ethan and Kira joined in, "Full Power!"

The Megazord revved up the Dimetro-Blade and landed two powerful strikes on the monster. Scorpex loudly groaned and exploded from the impact.

The Megazord stood proudly in victory… Tommy and Kimberly cheered as they saw everything on the monitors, "Oh, yeah!" "All right!" The two joyfully hugged, relieved that the Power Rangers had won another close battle.

Once she came to her senses, Kimberly gave a smack to Tommy's arm, "While I'm glad the rangers won, I'm still upset with you!" Tommy groaned, "Kimberly! Come on… just talk to me!" as the angry brunette stomped her way out of the lab.

After the battle, Mesogog summoned Elsa and Zeltrax to him. The evil mastermind was furious, "Another Dino Zord in the hands of the Power Rangers. I don't know which of you to punish first."

Zeltrax did not wish for Elsa to be punished and cried, "Punish me! It is I who has failed you more."

Elsa agreed, "It's true! At least I made valuable progress in my plan to gain Oliver's trust."

Mesogog turned to face his lead general and was pleased at that news, "So, you did, Elsa." He rose to his feet and declared, "But your work is not finished yet. You have some competition."

Elsa replied, "If you're talking about Kimberly Hart… she's no competition to me. She's not even a ranger… although she fights like one."

Mesogog ordered, "I want you to stay close to Oliver… he is our link to the other three. And find out more about your little competition… it's obvious the woman has ties to the Power Rangers. As Oliver appears to care a great deal for her, Kimberly is definitely someone we need to keep an eye on."

Elsa groaned at that… she was not looking forward to spending more time with Tommy, "But I hate him! He's so… good! There must be another way."

Mesogog growled, and got into Elsa's face at her reluctance, "I don't recall asking your opinion."

Elsa realized she'd overstepped her boundaries and did not want to further set off Mesogog's wrath, "Of course, master. I will do as you wish… I will stay close to him."

Mesogog nodded in approval, "Good." He then waved his hands to dismiss his generals, "Now go… both of you." Elsa quickly walked away, while Zeltrax was furious that Elsa was going to have continue her plan to get close to his rival.

The next day, Cassidy and Devin were getting ready to do their school TV broadcast. Devin was at the controls, "Okay, Cass, are you ready?" He moved the levers to go live, "We're going to roll. And in five, four, three…" Cassidy nodded as she waited for her cue, as Devin motioned with his fingers for two and one. Devin then pointed to his friend, as the news alert music began to play.

Cassidy started her report, "This is Cassidy Cornell with a special report. I have discovered we have a superhero right here at Reefside High."

The rangers were in Tommy's class and quickly raised their heads to hear the report… had the nosy blonde reporter found out the truth about them?

Cassidy continued, "Yes, our own Principal Randall fended off several prehistoric creatures in an act of selfless bravery."

The rangers were relieved that Cassidy wasn't talking about them as Cassidy continued her report, "I was on the scene to bring you the exclusive footage. Let's roll tape." She turned towards Devin, so he could play their footage from the dig site.

Devin began to play the footage, and everyone in Tommy's class (and all over campus) began to laugh as the footage showed Cassidy destroying Devin's flower at the dig site.

Devin groaned at his mistake, "Ah, wrong tape." The rangers laughed as Cassidy tried to salvage her report, "Ah, we seem to be having some technical difficulties. Please stand by." Cassidy groaned and gave Devin a glare… she was upset that their exclusive had gotten so messed up, and now she was the laughingstock of the school. Devin awkwardly shrugged his shoulders and tapped on the controls, trying to fix his mistake.

After the news report, Randall was in the hallways barking at the students as they made their way to their next class. She hollered at one, "Tie up those shoelaces, Clark!" The students quickly got out of her way as she proceeded to make her way to the stairwell.

To her surprise, Tommy walked up behind her, "Principal Randall, are you okay?"

Randall rolled her eyes before answering, "Yes… I'm fine."

Tommy complimented, "You were pretty tough out there." He smiled as he adjusted his glasses, "I guess I didn't have to worry about you too much."

Randall was surprised that Tommy had been so concerned, "You were worried… about me?" As Elsa, she wasn't used to people caring about her. The other rangers were coming around the corner and stopped to listen.

Tommy kindly replied, "Of course." Randall looked up at Tommy's face… she could tell he was being sincere. She got distracted as she remembered how Tommy acted to protect her at the dig site… Elsa internally recoiled as she realized her human side was attracted to Tommy.

Tommy asked, "Are you okay?" as Randall stared at him. The bell rang shaking Randall out of her stupor. She quickly shook her head, "It's the bell, Dr. Oliver. Your next class isn't going to teach itself, is it?"

Tommy was flabbergasted as Randall walked away, "Uh, yeah… I mean no." He was very confused… he had hoped to just be friends, but now Randall was back to her normal, cold persona.

The rangers walked up to Tommy in support. Ethan quipped, "Man, that woman is cold-blooded."

Conner teased, "Yeah, but remember, Dr. O has got a thing for dinosaurs."

Tommy rolled his eyes at the red ranger, "Don't even start with me, Conner."

Kira joined in the teasing, "I think it's a perfect match." Ethan joked, "But what about Coach H? She can't stand Randall and won't be too happy about this."

Tommy was getting fed up with the teasing, "Aren't you guys late to your next class?"

Conner joked, "Yeah, we were hoping you'd write us a note or something." Ethan nodded, "Yeah!" as Tommy quipped, "Dream on." The rangers laughed as they headed to class… even though they had been teasing Tommy, they had grown to love and respect him.

After school, Tommy headed to the lab to gather his thoughts. He hated that Kimberly had been so upset with him… now he wondered if he could fix things between them.

He was surprised to find Kimberly sitting down by the monitors. Kimberly gave a small smile as she apologized, "I'm sorry how I acted earlier. We really need to talk."

Tommy was relieved to see Kimberly… he quickly walked to her and gently wrapped her in a hug, "Hey… I'm glad to see you. I wasn't sure if you were going to talk to me."

Kimberly sighed, "I let my jealously get the best of me. I did not appreciate the way Randall was flirting with you during the field trip. You didn't even do anything to stop her… I mean you had to notice the way she was acting with you."

Tommy was shocked, "Kim… I'm sorry. I know Randall was being overly friendly… it didn't even cross my mind that she was flirting with me."

Kimberly shook her head, "You're still clueless about your looks. You're a handsome guy, Tommy… I never told you, but all the girls were crazy about you when we were younger. But you're more than your good looks… you're humble, kind, and a loyal friend. After everything we've been through, I thought- I hoped we were finally fixing things between us."

Tommy hated that he had made Kimberly feel so insecure. He had to show her how he truly felt about her… he pulled Kimberly in close and kissed her.

Kimberly gasped in surprise but gave into Tommy's kiss. The kiss got more passionate… Tommy ended up backing Kimberly into the nearest wall. Kimberly moaned as Tommy continued to deepen the kiss, but as much as she wanted to continue to things, she gently broke the kiss.

Kimberly softly cupped Tommy's face, "Wow… that was something." Tommy chuckled, "You're telling me… I'm sorry for going all high-school Tommy on you."

Kimberly laughed, "No, you don't have to apologize. I surprised you last time… I just wasn't expecting that kind of kiss."

Tommy sighed, "Kim, don't you know how special you are to me? While I do respect Randall, I am not in love with her. There's only one woman who's managed to capture my heart… and that's you. I never stopped loving you. I know we made mistakes in the past, but I want us to do things right. I want a future with you… and I hope you do as well."

A huge smile formed on Kimberly's face at that, "Of course I do. Tommy, I've always regretted our breakup… I should have never sent that awful letter. If I had just talked to you on how I was feeling, maybe we wouldn't have lost all the years we spent apart. Maybe we would have stayed together… we probably would be married by now if I hadn't been such an idiot."

Tommy softly replied, "Kim, don't blame yourself. We were kids… we didn't know better. I should have called or teleported to Florida, instead of accepting that stupid letter so easily. Even though we still have a lot to work on, we deserve this second chance we've been given. I know we'll have to take things day by day, but I'm willing to put in the work if you are."

Kimberly gave Tommy a gentle kiss, "Definitely, handsome. So, what does this mean for us?"

Tommy chuckled, "How about we continue to work on our relationship? And don't worry about Randall… I will definitely be careful around her, so she doesn't get the wrong idea."

Kimberly nodded, and laughed as Tommy kissed her again and twirled her around in his arms. Tommy and Kimberly were happy that they talked things over. They had finally admitted their true feelings and were now in a better place to move things forward. Tommy and Kimberly knew things would continue to be challenging but had hope that they would work things out in their relationship.

It was good that the Power Rangers were finally working well together as a team. Despite their differences, they were now able to call themselves teammates and friends. They were going to need their friendship and support, as they were about to face their greatest challenge.
