Leader of the Whack

Out in space, a strange meteor was entering Earth's atmosphere and heading towards Reefside.

Trent was in the woods, trying to make his way out of town. Trent only had the essentials in his backpack as he ran away from home. He grabbed his GPS device to see how far he was from town, "I got to get further away." He looked down at his bracelet, which was beginning to glow, "It's not safe." He sighed as he put up his device and decided to keep moving.

Cassidy and Devin were in the woods as well. Cassidy groaned as her feet began to hurt, "Oh, I knew I shouldn't have worn heels." She had chosen to wear a pair of boots that were more stylish than practical for trekking through the woods.

Devin gave Cassidy a look, "I tried to tell you." Cassidy replied, "Oh, I never thought being a field reporter meant actually standing in a field."

Devin knew Cassidy wasn't an outdoor kind of girl and let his curiosity get the best of him, "Well, uh, tell me again why we're out here?"

Cassidy answered, "Well, I've been doing some research. And as it turns out, nearly every evil anti-hero lives somewhere in a secluded cave or somewhere outside the city."

Devin realized, "Oh, so you think we're going to find the White Ranger out here."

Cassidy replied, "Precisely! And I'll get the interview of a lifetime."

Devin quipped, "Yeah, or he'll eat us for lunch." The two friends stopped in their tracks as they heard a strange noise.

Cassidy gasped, "You hear that?! It could be the White Ranger." She hollered as she looked over the embankment that she and Devin were standing on, "Hold it there, White Ranger!"

Trent had been leaning against a tree nearby, and his eyes went wide when he heard Cassidy say that. He turned his face, so the two friends could see him. Trent was grateful that they hadn't set off his morpher.

Devin looked down and saw Trent, "No, Cass… don't worry, it's just Trent." Cassidy went, "Oh" as she saw Trent sitting against the tree.

Trent rose to his feet and faced the two friends, "Man, you scared me half to death."

Cassidy rolled her eyes, "Whatever! I thought you were the White Ranger." Devin nodded, "Yeah!" The two had no idea how right they were.

Trent decided to play it cool and gave them a look, "Me? Did you really think that I'm that evil ranger? You got to be kidding, right?" Inwardly, he was relieved that the two nosey friends didn't suspect him. He did keep his bracelet hidden to be on the safe side.

Cassidy groaned, "No, I didn't actually think that you were the White Ranger. I thought that-"

Trent looked up and his eyes went wide as he saw the meteor head in Cassidy and Devin's direction, "Look out!"

The two friends gasped as they saw the meteor head right toward them. They quickly ducked for cover and ended up tumbling off the embankment.

The meteor crashed nearby and caused a huge explosion. Cassidy and Devin groaned as they landed next to Trent.

Trent looked in the direction where the meteor crashed, "What the heck was that?!"

Devin quipped as he and Cassidy got to their feet, "A low flying spaceship?"

Cassidy immediately went into reporter mode, "I don't know, but whatever it was just landed over there." She quickly tapped Devin's arm, "Grab your camera."

Devin began to open his bag, but Trent quickly put out a hand to stop the two friends, "Hey, wait guys… It could be dangerous."

That wasn't about to stop Cassidy from getting a scoop… she just grinned at Trent, "Danger is my middle name." She then began walking towards the crash site.

Devin gave Cassidy a confused look, "I thought it was Agnes." But he quickly followed Cassidy, as he always did.

Trent grabbed his things and decided to follow Cassidy and Devin, "I'm going to regret this." Despite that this could set off his morpher, he didn't want anything to happen to the two friends.

Meanwhile, the rangers were hanging out in the Dino Lab while Hayley and Kimberly were doing another scan on Tommy, trying to figure out a way to free him.

Conner was goofing off and playing with his soccer ball, "McKnight on a breakaway!"

Ethan was playing one of his video games on his laptop and proudly exclaimed, "Hayley, Coach H, one more level and I break my all-time record."

Conner heard that and proceeded to drop his soccer ball onto Ethan's computer to mess with him.

Ethan groaned as the game beeped at him, "Conner…" Conner's little prank caused him to lose the game.

Conner apologized, "Sorry" Ethan stood up and gave the red ranger a look, "Now I have to start all over!"

Conner picked up his soccer ball and gave Ethan a friendly tap on the shoulder, "You know, there's this great new thing called the outdoors. You might want to check it out."

Ethan rolled his eyes and sarcastically retorted, "Tell you what, I'll check that out when I see you checking out the library."

Conner chuckled at that and gave a look towards Kira, who was currently in the corner with her guitar. "You got about as much of a chance seeing that than seeing Kira at a fashion show."

Kira looked up and glared at Conner, "Do you really want to go there?"

Conner looked at Ethan and knew he was on thin ice with Kira. Ethan just patted Conner's shoulder, "Yikes." Now that they were friends, the guys knew better than to tick Kira off.

Kimberly looked up to give Conner one of her well-known glares, "Conner… knock it off. One of these days you're going to take things too far, and I won't stop Ethan and Kira from using their powers on you."

Conner gave Kimberly a sheepish look and immediately shut up, causing Ethan and Kira to smirk in satisfaction.

Ethan turned his attention towards Hayley and Kimberly as they finished the scan on Tommy, "Any luck on de-fossilizing Dr. O?"

Haley shook her head, "Not yet. I just can't find an energy source that can safely break the molecular bonds of the amber."

Kira asked, "What about if we use our gems? Wouldn't that be able to free Dr. O?" She knew the Dino Gems were powerful and could be the energy source they needed to save Tommy.

Kimberly quickly answered, "No, that's too risky. The Dino Gems are the source of your ranger powers… you kids can't afford to lose them. Tommy wouldn't want you to give up your powers… not when Mesogog and Trent are still causing trouble."

Hayley agreed, "Kira, I know your heart's in the right place. But Kimberly is right… while the Dino Gems are powerful, we can't afford to lose them. The Power Rangers are still needed, and Tommy would never forgive us if we destroyed your powers just to save him."

Conner nodded, "I hate to say it, but I agree with Hayley and Coach H. Believe me, I am more than willing to use my powers to help Dr. O, but we still have a job to do."

Ethan agreed as well, "We'll figure out a way to get Dr. O back… without us having to resort to giving up our powers."

Suddenly the monitors sounded the alert. The group quickly headed to the computer station to see what was going on.

Hayley sat down to read the incoming data, "That's weird. The satellite's picking up a strange reading in the forest."

Conner turned towards Ethan and Kira, "Let's go take a look." The rangers quickly headed for the exit to go investigate the strange situation.

Meanwhile, Mesogog was checking in with his two generals. Zeltrax and Elsa were working on another monster for their master, and Mesogog wanted to see their progress.

Mesogog ordered, "Zeltrax, report." Zeltrax immediately went to his master's side and replied, "My lord, if my calculations are correct, Rojobot will be the most aggressive creature we have ever created."

Mesogog was intrigued and gave his nod for his generals to proceed, "We'll see about that."

Zeltrax and Elsa immediately went to their stations and fired up the Geno Randomizer, "Activate" "All Systems Online."

The machine went to work, and Mesogog paced in anticipation for his newest creation.

The doors opened and Rojobot stepped out of the machine. While the monster looked intimidating and powerful, he began to whimper and cowered before his master, "Oh, it's so cold in here… how can you stand it? And who's the big, scary lizard guy? Get me out of here!" Rojobot quickly went to hide in one the corners… he was nothing but a coward. The complete opposite of what Mesogog wanted in his creatures.

Mesogog hissed in displeasure, "Who is this fool?!" Zeltrax shrugged his shoulders, wondering where he went wrong, "Uh, Rojobot?"

Before Mesogog could say anything else about the cowardly monster, his monitors went off. He quickly went to Elsa's side, "What is it?"

Elsa quickly shut down the Geno Randomizer and began to check her monitors to see what was happening. She immediately saw the same energy readings that the Power Rangers had picked up, "My lord, I'm picking up huge heat signatures and radiation from the forest."

This piqued Mesogog's interest, "What kind of radiation?" Elsa quickly answered, "Like nothing on record."

Mesogog knew that whatever was in the forest had to have an enormous amount of power to give off readings like that. He immediately wanted it for his arsenal. "Send that creature to retrieve it… he should be able to handle that." Rojobot cowered in the corner… he did not want this assignment.

Elsa reluctantly agreed with her master's orders, "As you wish, my lord." She quickly gave the monster a look... Rojobot whimpered again, but knew he had no choice but to comply to his master's orders.

Cassidy led the way towards the crash site with Devin and Trent closely behind her. Cassidy was excited as she got closer, "We're the first on the scene! This is hot!"

The group finally could see the strange meteor… the meteor had landed in a large clearing and made a huge crater in the ground due to its impact.

Cassidy turned towards Devin, "There it is! Devin, start rolling!" Devin quickly pulled his camera out of his bag.

As they got closer to the meteor, Trent warned the two nosey friends, "Careful!"

Trent's warning did not deter Cassidy… she was determined to get her scoop, "Oh, it's harmless!" She shoved Devin forward so he could get the footage, "Get closer!"

Devin gasped as he got close to the meteor… he began to get concerned, "Are you sure, Cass? I mean, it's still smoking."

Trent crouched down to get a closer look… indeed, the strange meteor was giving off powerful waves of energy.

Trent looked at the meteor in curiosity, while the two friends concentrated on filming the strange rock. Suddenly, one of the strange waves hit Trent's bracelet. The White Dino Gem had been glowing, but the energy wave calmed the gem down.

Thankfully, Cassidy and Devin did not notice anything. Devin liked the footage he was getting, "Looks good on camera though"

Cassidy was now awfully curious, "What do you think it is?" Devin simply answered, "It's hard to say... not sure what this is."

Trent was stunned at the change in his bracelet, when he heard a familiar voice call out, "Trent?!" He quickly turned his head to see Kira… with Conner and Ethan at her side.

Trent slowly rose to his feet, "What are you guys doing here?" He quickly gave the rangers a look… the last thing he needed right now was a fight with them.

Conner immediately gave Trent a dirty look… he couldn't mask the anger in his voice, "I should ask you the same thing… haven't seen you around for a while."

Ethan also gave Trent an ugly glare as he growled, "Yeah, we really need to catch up." The red and blue ranger were still furious with Trent… it was clear to Trent that he had lost Conner and Ethan's friendship, but what hurt him the most of was the look of hurt and disappointment in Kira's eyes.

Cassidy and Devin could feel the tension between the rangers… they were surprised how hostile Conner and Ethan were acting towards Trent.

Conner and Ethan lunged towards Trent in their fury… Kira quickly put out her arm to stop her friends. She gave them a look to calm down, especially since Cassidy and Devin were watching their every move, "Not now, guys!"

Conner managed to reign in his temper, "Kira's right… let's check this thing out."

Just as the group was about to investigate, they were immediately surrounded by Rojobot and Tyrannodrones.

Rojobot timidly said to the rangers, "Pardon me, but I don't think I'm supposed to let you do that."

The rangers and Trent immediately got into defensive positions. Cassidy hollered, "Quick!" to Devin, and they immediately began to back away from the scene.

Cassidy and Devin hid behind a tree as more Tyrannodrones appeared on the scene. As the Tyrannodrones began to surround the rangers, Devin asked, "Whoa, do you want me to get this?" Cassidy scoffed at that, "Hideous mutant creatures… like that's news in this town. Let's get out of here."

Devin just shrugged as he and Cassidy ran away. Cassidy shrieked, "Eww… there's mud on my boots! Devin, wait for me!" As the two friends made their escape, two energy waves from the meteor hit them from behind.

As the rangers prepared themselves for a fight, Conner looked directly at Trent, "Whose side are you on today, Trent?"

Trent just gave Conner a pointed look, "Do you want my help or not?" He may be turning evil, but Trent was no fan of Mesogog or his minions. He would do the right thing and help his former friends… he just hoped the fight wouldn't set off the White Ranger.

Kira had enough of the rivalry between Conner and Trent, "Conner, enough! Do you really want to set Trent off right now? The way you're acting is going to make the White Ranger come out, and I really don't want to deal with that right now. We could use his help… especially since we're already down a ranger."

Conner snapped, "You're really taking his side right now, Kira? He's betrayed us! He hurt Dr. O, who was only trying to help him. Don't let your feelings for him fool you… he's proven that we can't trust him."

Trent quickly defended, "Conner, I don't give a damn what you think about me… leave Kira out of this. I know you hate me, but don't take out your anger with me on her."

Kira then glared at the red and white ranger, "Trent, Conner… stop it. I'm this close to kicking both of your asses right now. We'll deal with this later."

Ethan gave Conner a look, "Conner, she's right. Do you really want Kira using her Ptera scream on you right now? We've got bigger problems right now than fighting with each other."

Conner reluctantly agreed, "Let's just get rid of these goons… we'll deal with Trent later."

Trent just rolled his eyes as he retorted, "Fine with me… no promises that I'll stick around afterwards."

As the rangers got back into their defensive stances, Rojobot quickly replied to the Tyrannodrones, "If it's all the same, I'll just watch from over here."

The Tyrannodrones rushed forward and began the attack. The rangers quickly went to work.

Trent quickly dodged and landed several punches on the minions. Even though he wasn't in his ranger suit, Trent's powers gave him enough strength to fight unmorphed. One of his punches was powerful enough to send a Tyrannodrone flying in the air.

Kira spun her body around… she had to lean backwards a bit as the creatures swiped at her but managed to keep her balance. She quickly spun her arms to strike and block the attacks.

Conner did a back-hand spring, but the Tyrannodrones managed to grab at his legs and throw off his balance. Conner landed on his back and groaned as the creatures dragged him across the ground.

The Tyrannodrones released their hold on Conner's legs, but Conner quickly used the momentum to jump back onto his feet. Conner quickly blocked and spun his legs around to defend himself… he landed a powerful kick that sent one of the creatures flying away from him.

Ethan quickly landed a few powerful punches and managed to shove a Tyrannodrone away from him. The creature went flying and tumbled to the ground. Ethan quickly jumped up as the minions rushed at him, and quickly used his arms to punch and block the attacks.

Kira was in the middle of a block when her bracelet went off. Despite that the Tyrannodrone she had been fighting had grip on her wrist, Kira quickly spoke into her bracelet, "Go" knowing that it had to important for Hayley and Kimberly to reach out during the middle of a fight.

Hayley quickly alerted, "Guys, I'm analyzing the radiation from that rock and it's really freaky. Get away from it."

Kira quipped, "It's a little late for that!" as she quickly landed a powerful kick to the creature's knee. The momentum was powerful enough to release its grip and sent the creature tumbling onto its face.

The meteor began to glow again… Rojobot got closer and noticed the glow, "What a strange little rock." The meteor emitted another wave of radiation, which hit Rojobot square on the chest.

The radiation had an immediate effect on Rojobot… he appeared to increase in size and his personality quickly changed.

While Conner had his back turned and continued to fight the Tyrannodrones, Rojobot cried out in a deeper, and more aggressive voice, "I want a piece of the action!"

The monster lunged forward and used its mace-like tentacles to land a hard blow onto Conner's back.

Conner groaned in surprise… he quickly rolled into a crouch and managed to turn his body around to face the monster. Ethan and Kira quickly rushed to Conner's side as Rojobot challenged, "Come on you wimps! Put them up!"

Ethan placed a hand on Conner's shoulder, "You thinking what I'm thinking?" Conner gave a defiant look towards Rojobot and his minions and rose to his feet. The trio summoned their morphers and went into their morph sequence, "Dino Thunder, Power Up!"

Once in their suits, the rangers were ready to even the score. Rojobot hollered, "Attack!" as the fighting picked up again.

Now that they were powered up, the rangers were able to defend themselves better and began to make quick work of the Tyrannodrones.

Trent continued to fight unmorphed, when another wave of radiation from the meteor struck him on the back. Trent managed to land several punches and shoved several Tyrannodrones away from him. He managed to get into a defensive pose when he began to feel dizzy. His vision went blurry, and Trent realized he was about to transform, "Oh, no… not now!" He managed to regain his wits and decided to leave before the White Ranger took over. Surprising himself, Trent managed to control himself enough to tap into his speed and quickly ran away.

As the fight continued, the meteor emitted more waves of radiation. The rangers gasped in surprise as the waves of radiation struck them square in their chest.

It took Ethan a second to recover, but the radiation had quickly affected him. The blue ranger began to fight more aggressively and quickly dispatched the Tyrannodrones around him.

Conner spun as he fought against Rojobot. He managed to land a powerful kick to Rojobot's chest that sent the monster staggering backwards.

Rojobot cried as he rejoined the Tyrannodrones, "I'll be back for Round 2! Retreat!" A portal quickly opened, taking Rojobot and the creatures back to Mesogog's fortress.

Conner retorted, "Okay! Power Down!" The red ranger felt a little strange as he retuned back to his civilian form.

Conner was still a little surprised as Ethan and Kira joined him… he sounded more intelligent as he replied, "Well that was a challenging altercation."

Ethan was still running on adrenaline, "I was just getting started… I wanted to annihilate that goon."

Kira sounded like a Valley girl as she inspected her fingernails, "Eww… I got dirt under my nails. That's like totally disgusting."

If the rangers had been paying close attention, they would have noticed that they weren't acting like their normal selves.

Conner looked around the forest and noticed Trent was missing, "Hey, where's Trent?" The rangers' bracelets went off again and Kimberly's voice came through, "Guys, head back to the lab. Hayley's got some news about that space rock."

The rangers looked at each other in confusion, "Space rock?!" but quickly headed back to the Dino Lab.

Once the rangers returned, they quickly joined Hayley and Kimberly at the monitors to go over the results that Hayley had discovered.

As the group looked over the screens Hayley reported, "It's actually a meteor fragment."

Conner intelligently replied, "Fascinating… it must have broken off during some sort of inter-galactic collision."

That caused everyone to turn towards Conner in surprise… they were not expecting that kind of response from him. Conner just shrugged, "What?" as his friends continued to stare at him.

Hayley quickly shared her concerns, "I'm just afraid coming in such close proximity to it might have some strange side effects. Do you guys feel okay?"

Kira answered, "Well, I for one am going home. If I don't soak my cuticles in an aloe bath, my nails will never grow out." Kimberly quirked her eyebrows at that… Kira normally could care less about her nails.

Ethan began to look at his arms and chest, "I gotta hit the gym… need to work on my pecs."

Kimberly and Hayley continued to stare at the rangers as Conner replied, "I want to get home to watch that documentary on the Great Pyramids… looks fascinating."

The young rangers headed towards the exit… Hayley groaned, "Uh, oh" as the kids left. Kimberly quipped at the redhead genius, "Uh, oh is right… the kids are definitely not acting like themselves."

Back at Mesogog's fortress, Mesogog was not pleased with his newest monster, "You've failed me"

Rojobot eagerly answered, "But… but… give me another chance. I'll pound those rangers into the ground." The monster was now eager to go back into battle, when normally he would have cowered in fear.

Intrigued by the change in Rojobot, Mesogog replied, "I don't know what's happened to you… but I like it. Maybe I will give you another chance."

Zeltrax was also pleased with the change in Rojobot and boasted, "I knew it… I knew he was a fearsome warrior."

Mesogog began to plot, "I have a feeling things in Reefside are about to change."

The next day at school, Devin walked with a confident swagger across the lawn (ignoring the Keep off the Grass sign). He was now dressed completely different, with his hair slicked back and looking like a wannabe 70s era John Travolta. This Devin had confidence and self-assurance, that it made everyone notice him.

Cassidy then meekly walked up to Devin, also looking completely different. Cassidy was now wearing glasses and pigtails, and a nerdy looking dress that she normally wouldn't be caught dead wearing. She had no makeup on, exposing several blemishes on her normally flawless complexion. She even sounded meek as she tried to get Devin's attention, "Uhm… uhm."

Devin just turned his shoulder, not even giving Cassidy his full attention, "Yeah, what do you want?"

Cassidy struggled to find her words as she followed Devin, "Yeah, uhm, like I was wondering if we could like, uh, go for a soda?"

Devin answered, "Well, I got to go and catch that White Ranger" He confidently turned to smile at Cassidy as he shrugged, "But I guess one soda won't kill me." He proceeded to put his arms around a gleeful Cassidy and the two friends headed off together.

At the lab, Ethan was busy working out. He was wearing athletic clothes and acting more like a typical jock. Hayley and Kimberly walked in and were shocked at the sight. The two women stared at the blue ranger as he greeted, "What's up Hayley and Coach H."

Hayley asked, "Ethan, are you sure you feel okay?" Kimberly nodded, "Yeah, Hayley and I have been worried about you and the others."

Ethan smiled as he continued lifting his weights, "Oh yeah, I'm pumped and ready to rock."

Conner then walked in, looking like a young schoolteacher (his outfit looked similar to something Tommy would wear when he was teaching). He was even wearing glasses and had a stack of books in his arms. Kimberly thought Conner sounded a like lot Billy as he greeted, "Good morning, all. The weather is particularly pleasant today, with excessively low humidity."

Hayley and Kimberly began to get more concerned at the changes in the young rangers. Ethan just rolled his eyes at Conner, "Whatever, Bro." He then asked as he studied his physique, "How do my arms look? Am I looking ripped or what?"

The group turned as they heard a pair of heels coming towards them. Conner replied, "Good morning, Kira" as the yellow ranger made her way down the steps. Kira was wearing a cute yellow dress, had her hair fixed back with a stylish yellow headband, and had her arms full of shopping bags.

Kira replied, "Hello… sorry I'm late. There was a sale and I just, well… you understand." Ethan continued with his weights and asked, "Hey, you guys think I'm ready for the Iron Man competition?"

Now seeing the changes in the rangers' personalities, Hayley realized, "Okay, there were definitely side effects from you being exposed to the meteor. We need to destroy that rock and get you guys back to normal."

Kimberly agreed, "I agree, you three are definitely not acting like yourselves."

Ethan had a surprised look on his face, as Conner replied, "Side effects… I find that highly improbable."

Ethan agreed, "Yeah, I feel like I could kick Mesogog's butt myself."

Suddenly the lab's alarm went off… the screens showed Rojobot attacking in town. Hayley said, "That's going to have to wait. Look who's back."

Hayley and Kimberley headed to the monitors as the rangers quickly put down their things. Kira quickly adjusted her hairband as Conner began to lead the morphing call, "Ready?" Ethan and Kira nodded, "Ready" as the trio summoned their morphers. As the rangers hollered, "Dino Thunder, Power Up!", their hand motions were even slightly different. Ethan's was a bit more aggressive, Conner's was more reserved, and Kira's was daintier as they activated their morphers. Once in their suits, the rangers quickly headed to town.

Rojobot was aggressively blasting around a busy section of town, causing panicked citizens to run away in fear.

The rangers finally arrived and had landed behind the monster. Conner thoughtfully replied, "Let's devise a strategy of attack."

Ethan cracked his knuckles, "I got a strategy… we crush him."

Kira just stared at her ranger suit, "The lines on my suit are so completely wrong. Why doesn't anyone make superhero costumes for petite?"

Rojobot turned towards the rangers, "Colorful athletes, prepared to be destroyed!"

The rangers were caught off guard, as Rojobot fired an explosive beam towards them. The beam ended up striking Conner directly on his chest and was thrown backwards.

Conner groaned as he glared at the monster, "That was totally uncalled for!" He looked towards Kira for help, "Kira, a hand?"

Kira was more concerned about her looks instead of helping her friends, "I just know I'm going to have the worst helmet hair after this."

Rojobot fired another beam, knocking Kira and Ethan to the ground. The monster cried, "You're no match for me… later, posers!" Rojobot quickly summoned a portal and disappeared from the scene.

The rangers managed to get to their feet. Conner yelled, "I told you, we should have thought this out!"

Ethan smugly replied, "In my business, you go big, or you go home." Kira just quirked her head, "Well, I say we go to the mall." Conner huffed, "Have fun!", as Ethen went "Later!" The three stormed off in different directions… this change of personalities was now affecting the rangers' ability to work as a team.

Later in the afternoon, Devin sauntered into the Cyberspace with a large group of admiring girls following him. Devin turned to his admirers, "Ladies, clear my booth."

The girls quickly went to clear a space for Devin, even one girl clamoring, "He's so cute!". Cassidy followed Devin like a puppy, as he made his way to the jukebox.

Devin bumped the jukebox to get it to start and made his way to the stage as the music started up. He took off his jacket and handed it off to one of the girls as Cassidy asked, "So, when are you going to track down the evil White Ranger, Devin?"

Devin confidently answered, "Right after I boogie on the dance floor." Cassidy gasped in admiration as Devin jumped onto the stage and began to dance. 70s style music was playing, and Devin danced on the stage with confidence getting the whole café's attention.

Conner was busy reading as he found a seat at the counter… he had managed to look up to see the strange spectacle of Devin dancing. He even adjusted his glasses to make sure he wasn't seeing things.

Kira walked into the café with even more shopping bags on her arms, while Ethan was in the middle of doing push-ups. Suddenly, the rangers' bracelets went off… all three groaned in frustration, and quickly left to return to the lab.

Hayley and Kimberly were already in the lab, as the frustrated rangers walked in. Ethan groaned, "What now?! I was having a super intense workout."

Conner replied, "And I was right in the middle of a very compelling biography." Kira asked, "Is this going to involve dirt? Because if it does, I'm going to have to say uh, uh."

Hayley sarcastically answered, "Sorry I interrupted your busy day! I'd just thought you might like to know I think I found a way to un-fossilize Dr. Oliver."

The rangers were stunned, but happy at that news, "Really?" "No way!"

Kimberly quipped, "Glad to see you guys are changing your tune. Now that you guys are paying attention, Hayley can now explain things."

The rangers quickly went quiet as Hayley explained, "The meteor fragment… my theory is that it frees your inner self. That's why you guys are acting so weird."

Conner began to understand what Hayley was getting at, "Of course! If you could harness its power, you could free Dr. Oliver from the inside out." Hayley nodded as Conner finished, "Although, I do take offense at being called weird."

Hayley rolled her eyes a bit, but managed to smile as she apologized, "Sorry. You're not being weird. It's just that the rock is allowing you to show a side of yourself that you don't usually show."

Conner realized, "A recessive personality trait!" Hayley agreed, "You could say that. Like, Conner, there's a part of you that's intelligent and studious. Ethan, there's a part of you that's athletic, even competitive." Ethan smiled at that as he had never considered that about himself.

Kimberly replied, "Then that means Kira has a part of herself that is more feminine than she usually shows." The whole group nodded in agreement about that.

Kira began to think about Trent's actions in the forest, "So, that's why Trent helped us." She began to smile, "There's a part of him that's really good."

Hayley nodded in agreement, giving the yellow ranger hope that Trent could be saved. Ethan was still a bit lost, "I still don't get any of this."

Hayley kindly replied, "You don't have to… for now, just pull it together as a team. Trust me."

Kimberly smiled, "You know that Hayley wouldn't steer you wrong. You're the Power Rangers… you guys can do this."

Conner agreed, "That sounds logical." Hayley was relieved that the rangers were now back on track, "Now, here's what I need you to do."

Suddenly the emergency alert went off… Hayley turned towards the screens to see that Rojobot was back in town causing more chaos, "Oh, again?" She turned back towards the rangers and gave them a knowing look, "First things, first." Kimberly nodded, "Time to kick some monster butt, then save Tommy."

The rangers knew it was time to get back to work… they quickly put their things on the floor and summoned their morphers. With a "Dino Thunder, Power Up!", the rangers were back in their suits and ready for action.

Rojobot bragged as he terrorized the frightened citizens, "Being bad feels really good!"

The monster laughed, but then stopped when he felt several blasts hit him from behind. Rojobot turned to find the rangers on the scene, all with their blasters in hand.

Ethan hollered, "Hey, mutant!" and even did a muscle pose to intimidate Rojobot. Rojobot groaned, "You again!"

Conner cried, "Thundermax Saber!" and quickly turned his blaster to saber mode. Conner leaped and quickly landed several strikes on Rojobot's chest. Conner spun around and landed a kick that sent the monster stumbling backwards.

Conner rolled back onto his heels and cried, "Most excellent!" Ethan hollered, "I've got something for you too!" Kira got giddy, "Wow, leave some for me!"

The blue and yellow ranger rushed forward, as Conner bent down. Ethan and Kira quickly leaped off Conner's shoulders and used the momentum to land their kicks onto Rojobot's chest. Rojobot went flying and crashed onto the ground.

Rojobot struggled to his feet as Kira cried, "All together now!" Rojobot groaned as the rangers all fired their blasters at him.

The rangers turned around, thinking that their blaster strikes had been enough to defeat Rojobot. But Rojobot managed to get back up and fired more of his blasts at the rangers.

The rangers groaned as the blasts hit them. All three managed to quickly rise to their feet, and Conner yelled in frustration, "This creature leaves us no choice!" The rangers hollered, "Super Dino Mode" and tapped into their higher power.

Their suits quickly transformed, and the rangers cried, "Dino Rangers, rock!" Rojobot cowered seeing the rangers' upgrade and knew he was in trouble.

Rojobot fired at the rangers as they rushed forward, but the rangers were unfazed and continued their attack.

Each ranger managed to land a strike onto Rojobot. Rojobot spun around and tried to use his tail to knock down the rangers, but the rangers quickly used a back-hand spring to avoid it.

The rangers managed to avoid Rojobot's blasts, and quickly rolled up. They leaped at the monster again… Ethan and Kira landed on Rojobot's shoulders and managed to hold him in place, while Conner landed a powerful kick on his chest.

Ethan and Kira spun around and hollered, "Double or nothing!" as they both turned and landed their powerful kicks on the monster.

The rangers quickly regrouped as Conner happily cried, "Outstanding!" Ethan hollered, "Let's put them together!"

The rangers quickly combined their weapons, "Z-Rex Blaster!" Rojobot cowered as the rangers hollered, "Ready! Fire!"

The Z-Rex Blaster sent a huge fireball towards Rojobot, and the monster was quickly destroyed to pieces. The rangers cheered, "Yeah!" "We rock!" "So fabulous!"

Mesogog growled as he heard Conner onscreen say, "Fine work, team!" The evil mastermind quickly activated his psionic powers and used them on Elsa and Zeltrax.

Elsa and Zeltrax cowered in pain as their master slowly released them. Mesogog made his way toward his regenerator, "As I engage the Hydro Regenerator myself, I would like you both to think about what you have done."

Mesogog pushed the lever up, "Activate" and sent his regenerative rain cloud to revive his monster. Rojobot quickly regenerated and towered over the city, "I'm big and I'm back!"

Conner quickly spoke into his morpher, "It's zord time!" as Hayley and Kimberly sent Brachio Zord to the scene.

The zords rushed forward to meet the rangers, and they quickly formed the Megazord. Once in the cockpit, Conner summoned their newest zord, "Anklyozord!"

Anklyozord quickly attached to the Megazord, taking Tricera's place acting as a powerful drill and shield.

Rojobot cried, "Take this!" and fired his blasts at the Megazord. Anklyozord quickly shielded the Megazord and spun the blasts right back at the monster.

Rojobot groaned in pain as the blasts hit him. Ethan cried, "That did it!" But to the rangers' surprise, Rojobot had survived the blasts.

Rojobot cried, "Catch you on the flip side!" and began to run away. He griped, "Stupid Megazord!" but was shocked when he was blocked by the Dino Stegazord.

It wasn't the dark sinister voice of Drago, but the actual voice of Trent that cried, "Going somewhere?" This time, it was Trent in control of the White Ranger's powers.

Kira was shocked as she recognized the voice, "It's Trent! He came to help us." Conner and Ethan couldn't believe what they were seeing.

Trent launched the Stega Stinger from his zord and struck Rojobot right in the center. Rojobot groaned in pain as he crashed to the ground.

As Rojobot struggled to get up, the Megazord quickly geared up for its Double Drill attack. Rojobot groaned as both drills struck him, and quickly exploded.

Despite helping the other rangers, Trent cried, "I'm out of here." Kira called out in vain, "Trent!", hoping that she could stop him, but Trent ignores her plea. He and the Dino Stegozord march away from the battlefield… despite proving that he still had a good side, Trent knew the evil in his dino gem would overpower him again. The alliance between the rangers was now over.

After the battle, the rangers hopped on their cycles and returned to the woods to deal with the meteor. As they approached the site, Conner ordered, "Okay, guys… lasers on full power!"

The trio revved their cycles and activated the lasers, "Fire!" The laser blasts caused a huge explosion and destroyed the meteor to pieces. While the meteor was destroyed, the pieces still had a small amount of radiation… enough for the rangers to use to help Tommy.

The rangers hopped off their cycles and powered down back to their civilian clothes. As Ethan picked up a fragment, Kira asked, "You think this will work?" As she asked the question, Kira's voice no longer sounded like a "Valley Girl".

Ethan also sounded like his normal self as he answered, "The components should still have residual powers that could help Dr. O."

Conner questioned like he normally did, "How do you know this stuff?" Ethan quirked his eyes at his friend, "It's called education."

Conner was a little insulted at that quip, "Okay, that was kind of brutal." He did have some smarts, and he had proven he wasn't as dumb as everyone thought he was. Conner then realized at the way Ethan spoke to him, "Hey… you sound like the old Ethan."

Ethan smiled at that, "Hey, I do!" The group chuckled in relief as Kira replied, "Thank you! One more second at a shopping mall…" The yellow ranger just shook her head, glad to be back to herself again.

Relieved to back to normal, Conner said, "Let's get this rock back to the lab." The trio quickly went back to their bikes and headed back to the Dino Lab.

Back at the Cyberspace, Devin was now dancing with Cassidy. Everyone in the café was watching them, as Devin twirled Cassidy around. Unfortunately, Cassidy ended up toppling onto the couch. Devin quickly helped Cassidy to a sitting position and sat down next to her.

Cassidy managed to say, "So, Devin, we've known each other for a while now." Devin nodded, "Sure" Cassidy admitted (which she wouldn't have done if she hadn't been under the meteor's influence), "Yeah, and it's pretty obvious that there's something special between us."

Devin agreed, "Well, yeah… this is true." Cassidy replied, "Yeah, so why don't we stop playing games and… " Cassidy then slowly closed her eyes and leaned closer to Devin to kiss him. Just as they were about to kiss, the meteor's spell broke. It was like a shock to them, and the two friends quickly separated. Cassidy was shocked as she returned to normal, "Devin! What are you doing?!"

Devin was also surprised and immediately was embarrassed as Cassidy shrieked, "Never mind that… what are you wearing?" Devin could only stutter and proceeded to run for the exit. Cassidy then looked at her nerdy outfit in disgust, "Eww! What am I wearing? Eww… it's disgusting!" Devin shouted, "See ya!" as Cassidy touched her face in disgust realizing that her normally flawless skin was all blotchy and gross. The meteor's spell was now broken, and everyone affected by it was now back to normal.

As the rangers returned to the lab, Hayley quipped as she noticed they were back into their regular clothes, "I assume you're feeling back to normal."

Ethan nodded, "Thank goodness" as Hayley took the meteor fragment from Kira. Conner agreed, "I hear that."

Kimberly managed to tease, "Its good to have you guys back… it was weird seeing you act so different." The rangers just rolled their eyes at the quip… they were just glad to be back to themselves.

As Hayley headed to her machine, Kira decided to ask, "Hey, since the meteor changed Trent to good, couldn't we use it to fight the effects of the Dino Gem?"

Hayley quickly put the meteor fragment in a container and began to place it inside the machine, "That might work, but let's try this first."

As Hayley prepared to start the machine, the rangers quickly moved out of the machine's path. Conner turned towards Kira, "Hey, Kira… I just want to say I'm sorry for how I've acted about the whole Trent situation. I've been a huge jerk towards you… I'm just so angry at Trent for what he did, and I ended up taking it out on you."

Ethan nodded, "I'm sorry too… it's not your fault that Trent went all evil." Kira just sighed, "I'm sorry if it seemed like I was defending him. I hate what Trent's done, but I know there's still good in him. Despite my feelings for him, I was never going to walk away from my duties as a ranger. And it hurt that you thought I wouldn't have your backs."

Conner replied, "You're our friend, Kira, and I'm sorry if we made you feel like we didn't trust you." Ethan said, "Kira, if you still want to find a way to help Trent, we won't stop you. While I'm still furious with Trent, and I'm not sure if he can be redeemed, we will stand by whatever decision you make."

Kira smiled, "Thanks guys… I really appreciate that." While Kira was still disappointed about Trent, she was glad that she had been able to talk things over with Conner and Ethan.

Kimberly joined the kids, "Hey, Hayley's ready to fire up the machine… man, I hope this works. I hope Tommy will be okay."

The group quickly went to Hayley's side in anticipation, hoping that Tommy could finally be freed from the amber.

Hayley made sure the meteor fragment was secure inside of the machine, and proceeded to turn on the levers, "Activating"

The machine powered up and begin to fire a beam of purple energy towards Tommy. Everyone held their breath as they watched the beam melt the amber away from Tommy's body.

But the machine backfired, startling everyone as small explosions fried the machine's circuits. The machine powered off, and smoke began to fill the room. Hayley gasped, "Oh!" seeing all her work be destroyed. Kira pulled the meteor fragment out of the machine, only to see the fragment was now dark and smoking, "The rock! It's fried!"

Conner gasped as he noticed Tommy was now moving, "Yeah, but look!" Despite the mishap, the machine had done its job and freed Tommy from the amber.

The whole team rushed towards Tommy in happiness, "It worked!" "Dr. Oliver!" "Awesome!"

Tommy was relieved to be back, "Good job, guys!" Kimberly quickly gave Tommy a hard smack on his chest. Tommy yelped, "Ow! What was that for, beautiful?!"

Kimberly just shook her head, "That was for scaring the daylights out of your girlfriend and your teammates. I was so scared we would never find a way to bring you back."

Tommy just gave Kimberly a gentle hug, "I knew you guys would find a way. Wait a minute, everyone knows about us now?"

The rangers just chuckled as Kimberly gave a sheepish smile, "I may have given it away with how devastated I was in the aftermath. I'm just glad you're okay. Now why don't you try powering down so we can make sure there's no lasting damage?"

Tommy nodded and proceeded to order, "Power Down!" He gasped as nothing happened, "Huh? I said Power Down!" Again, Tommy's suit failed to return him back to his normal self. Tommy looked at his ranger suit in shock, "I think we might have a problem."

Tommy was free from the amber, but it appeared that he was now permanently stuck inside his ranger suit. Now the rangers had to figure out a way to get Tommy back to his normal self.

Hey! I'm back... sorry about the long delay in updates. Life has just gotten in the way with work, and I had also lost my writing muse for a while. But I'm trying to slowly get back to writing... hopefully it won't be as long for the next update!
