Welcome back everyone! To celebrate the milestone point of this fanfic, I'm going to do a moveset for the most requested character people want in Smash (besides Sora and Bayonetta). That would be the toy possessing star spirit himself, Geno from Super Mario RPG!
He is notably one of two original characters, the other being Mallow, to accompany Mario, Peach and Bowser in their quest to recover the Star Pieces to repair the Star Road and defeat the evil Smithy Gang, with Geno being the one to explain to Mario and friends the true purpose of the adventure.
Despite only appearing in one game, Geno became an instant fan favorite in the Mario series, so the question remains; why hasn't Nintendo put him into Smash? The answer? Square Enix.
Believe it or not, Super Mario RPG (and it's Nintendo Switch Remake) is a collaboration game between Nintendo and Square Enix (SquareSoft back then), with Geno and EVERY original character that isn't Mario, Peach/Toadstool, Bowser, Toad, Yoshi and ANY of Boswer's Minons being OWNED by Square Enix. So, while he IS a Mario character, he's technically a Third Party Character as well.
Ultimately, the Mii Gunners do get a Geno costume, but not Geno himself. So let's give him a proper moveset along with the respect he deserves!
Geno
Origin: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Description: A Star Spirit that was sent by "a higher authority" to restore peace to Mario's world and repair the Star Road by locating the Star Pieces and defeating the evil Smithy gang. Thus, he possess the body of a wooden toy named Geno, who he goes by due to his real name being difficult to pronounce, and teams up with Mario, Mallow, and eventually, Bowser and Peach to restore the Star Road.

Japanese VA: None

Wall Jump: Yes
Wall Cling: No

Weight Class: Light
Intro Animation: Geno's star form posseses the doll that's sitting down and in a brief flash, grows to human size and enters his fighting stance as he stands up.
Series Logo: A Super Mushroom.
Home Stage: Star Hill
Assist Trophy: Mallow - Once Mallow appears, he will begin to charge up and cast one of three different spells that changes each time he is summoned. However, if an enemy is close to him, he will use his frog staff to knock them away first before he does so. He will do the following spells which are randomized;
● Thunderbolt: Casts down bolts of lightning around the stage.
● Snowy: Summons a giant snowman that functions like when you summon a Snorlax with a Pokéball.
● Star Rain: Summons a giant star that bounces around the stage, dealing heavy damage.
Once the spell summon is complete, Mallow will pull out his Sonic Cymbals and unleash a small shockwave around himself, dealing heavy damage and leaving at the same time.
Special Attacks
Neutral Special: Geno Beam - Charges a beam in his hand that goes straight forward. He can also use this in the air as well. The more the special is charge, the beam grows slightly bigger (around to the size of Samus' fully charge shot) and does more damage.
Side Special: Geno Whirl - Geno will throw out a disc of light that fires straight toward the opponents. It can pass through and hit multiple opponents. It's also VERY dangerous towards Assist Trophy characters as it can take them out in usually two hits!
Up Special: Geno Boost - Geno charges up before he vanishes and reappears at whatever spot he goes to based on the directional input. This functions not just as an evasive dodge special, but also as both his vertical and horizontal to get back on the stage.
Down Special: Geno Blast - Calls down a column of colorful light beams in front of him. The attack is similar to Pikachu and Pichu's Thunder special. The more the special is charged, up to four more columns of light will rain down. Two more in front of the first column and two that strike from behind Geno.
Final Smash: Geno Flash - Geno will fire a Geno Beam from both sides and if he manages to hit one to seven opponents. Once he does so, a cutscene plays where Geno will leap back and transform into a Cannon as the Star Charge automatically charges up to five and he fires a large red ball into the opponent as it explodes into a spinning red star as it smiles. This will deal heavy damage and knockback or will instant kill an opponent if they're over 100% Damage.
Star Charge: Two of Geno's four special attacks have a charge mechanic that determines the strength of his Specials. While the attack can instantly be used by tapping the button, holding the special button will determine a charge as indicated by the five stars above his head. Five stars guarantee a powerful attack. Be warned that you will be left open as you do this.

Trailer
Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser and Cloud are fighting against Sephiroth, Ganondorf and Ridley with the heroes struggling against the three villains as they have a mysterious blue star like item in their possession.
Sephiroth: "Foolishness Cloud Strife. Do you think you have a chance against us?"
Ridley roars as he prepares to charge forth and strike down Mario and his allies, but before he could do so, he is shot away by a laser beam, sending him to the ground. He attempts to stand, but falls lifeless. Sephiroth and Ganondorf turn to the cliff side with Mario and the others looking up. Then a text bubble appears on screen.
?: "That doesn't belong to you... and I refuse to let you harm my friends."
The figure leaps between them and it is revealed to be Geno, an old friend of Mario's.
GENO DECENDS FROM THE STARS!
Upon seeing Geno, Mario, Peach, Yoshi and even Bowser smile upom seeing him come to their aid with Cloud smirking at their newfound ally.
Geno: "One-Winged Angel... King of Evil... prepare yourselves!"
It then cuts to Princess Peach's Castle as Geno proceeds to battle against Ganondorf. Utilizing his array of weapons in his moveset, Geno outsmarts Ganondorf before charging up his Geno Beam, causing heavy damage to him.
It then cuts to Midgar where he comes face to face again Pit and Rosalina as he fights his fellow higher beings. Geno grabs and throws Roaslina before dodging Pit and sends him flying with Geno Whirl.
Next, Genk's at Dream Land where he battles Kirby, who nearly sends him flying, but uses Geno Boost to get above Kirby and sends him flying down before grabbing the ledge.
Geno then grabs an Assist Trophy to summon Mallow, who aids Geno by summoning a snowman to send Steve, Alex, Zombie and Enderman off screen.
It cuts back to the cutscene where Geno alongside Mario, Peach and Bowser proceed to aid Geno and the recently summoned Mallow as they fight off the monsters at Ganondorf's beck and call.
Geno: "We won't let you destory the hopes of wishes of everyone!"
It then shows Star Hill where Cloud and Yoshi are fighting Sephiroth before Geno cuts in with Geno Blast. Eventually the Smash Ball appears with Geno grabbing it and he proceeds to capture Sephiroth with a Geno Beam before transforming into a cannon, unleashing his Geno Flash to defeat the One-Winged Angel!
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate X Super Mario RPG
Sephiroth cringes in pain before vanishing and exploding into stars. Geno and Mallow land near the others as Mario grabs the Star Piece with Mario raising it up with Geno, Mallow, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi and Cloud celebrating as the Star Piece flies up to the sky back to the Star Road with a constellation of Mario and Geno shaking hands and smiling in the sky next to the Star Road.
Geno is then added to the Smash Mural.
Palutena's Guidance
Pit: "Are you seeing this!? There's a walking doll running around here!"
Palutena: "Technically, you're right, but you're also wrong. This is Geno, a star spirit from the Star Road and he inhabits the body of a doll he posseses and is an old friend of Mario, Peach and even Bowser."
Pit: "Star Spirit? Why would he possess a doll? What's his connection with Mario?"
Viridi: "It happened when Mario was rescuing Peach from Bowser until a giant sword impaled Bowser's Castle, destroying the Star Road in the process, splitting it into seven pieces."
"So a 'Higher Authority' sent Geno to recover the seven star pieces to repair the Star Road in addition to defeating the Smithy Gang, the culprits responsible. This led him to teaming up with Mario, Peach, Biwser and a Nimbus boy named Mallow to save the day."
Pit: "Okay, that makes sense. But why a doll and what's important about the Star Road?"
Palutena: "Geno possesed the doll of the same name as he believed it to be the srongest doll between it and dolls of Mario, Peach and Bowser. In fact, his name is ****, but goes by Geno instead."
Pit: "Yeah... how do you even pronounce his real name?"
Palutena: "As for the Star Road, whenever people make a wish, the Star Road recieves it and once it's granted, it becomes a shooting star. Without the Star Road, wishes would never be granted again and peace would be forever lost."
Viridi: "Like say your wish is to save Palutena from Medusa or Hades, but it would never happen. Period!"
Pit: "That's awfully bleak! Good thing Geno and Mario set things right.
"So, how do I fight Geno?"
Palutena: "Geno possesses great range and hard hitting attacks due to the assortment of guns and lasers his body is equipped with. Additionally, he can charge his Geno Beam and Geno Blast to increase damage and output. However, he is left open during this time, so try to intercept him when you can."
Viridi: "And remember that while you CAN reflect his Geno Beam and Geno Whirl with your Guardian Orbitars, it won't work with his normal bullet attacks as they don't count as specials."
Pit: "Yikes, a tricky little star isn't he? Still, it shouldn't be hard to send him flying at least."
Palutena: "Even so, he's got no strings to hold him down, so don't go underestimating him."
Geno has secured his place alongside Mario once more! I hope you enjoyed this milestone chapter!
See you for the next fighter!
