It's A Mad, Mad Mackerel

Conner and Ethan were hanging out at the Cyberspace. Ethan was linking Conner to one of his favorite soccer teams on the web, "One last link… there it is bro!"

Conner grinned, "Manchester United on the Web Cast. I take back anything bad I ever said about the internet."

Kira ran in all excited, holding up her accepted internship form, "Look, I got it! I got it, I got it, I got it!"

Conner quipped, "It's not contagious, is it?"

Ethan chuckled a little, causing Kira to glare at the boys, "Funny."

Conner chuckled a bit, but apologized, "Sorry. What is it?"

Kira happily answered, "I applied for an internship at Channel 3 and I'm in."

Ethan was excited for Kira, "That's awesome. Lots of kids at school applied for that."

Kira replied, "They only accepted two this semester. And guess what show I'll be working on? The Funky Fisherman's Cartoon Cavalcade."

Ethan exclaimed, "No way! That's my favorite show!"

Conner quirked an eyebrow at Ethan, knowing that the show was for children. Causing Ethan to backtrack, "I mean, it was when I was a kid."

Conner just gave Ethan a look, "Uh-huh."

Ethan continued to reminisce, "I can still hear the theme song now." He began to sing, "It's the Funky Fisherman's Cartoon Show. So grab your gear and we'll all go. Look! It's Marty the Mackerel! He'll hook us a cartoon spectackerel!"

Ethan jumped up and was about to do the dance, which Conner quickly grabbed his friend to stop him, "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Stop! Dude, it's songs like that that make me want to go outside and play soccer."

Kira also gave Ethan a look, "Yeah, I got to get down to the station. See ya!"

Conner just chuckled, while Ethan hummed and did the little jig in his seat as Kira left the café.

Cassidy and Devin had been sitting nearby and overheard the rangers' conversation. Cassidy was upset, "Did you hear that? The teen angst poster child just got my internship! I'm the one with a future in television. Oh, it was a stupid internship anyway."

Cassidy angrily headed for the exit as Devin gave his friend an uncomfortable look as she stormed out, "Yeah, really stupid."

At Channel 3, Kira was already on the Funky Fisherman Set and working at the refreshment table. The Funky Fisherman stomps through and kicks one of the fish props out of the way as he headed for the refreshment table.

Funky Fisherman spots Kira and sneers, "Well. So, you must be the new girl."

Kira quickly placed the snacks she had in her hands on the table and friendly extended her hand, "Hi, I'm Kira." The Funky Fisherman did not shake her hand, but she continued, "And you're the Funky Fisherman. It's so great to be here. I've watched your show ever since-"

Funky Fisherman rudely interrupted and extended his hand, "You see this hand… it should have a coffee in it. You have five seconds."

Kira replied, "Sure, do you take-" but was interrupted as the Funky Fisherman began counting, "Five, Four, Three, Two, One."

Kira quickly made a cup of black coffee (since Funky never was specific about how he wanted his coffee) and handed the cup to the rude TV star.

Funky Fisherman glared and cried, "The cream." He began to count again, "Five, Four, Three, Two, One."

Kira quickly poured the cream into the coffee and handed it back to the Funky Fisherman, "Here ya go."

Kira was left disappointed as Funky Fisherman dumped the coffee into the trash and exclaimed, "Too much cream. What is it with you interns?!"

Funky Fisherman turned and griped, "I can't work with these people." He stormed away… he had to stop as two of his crustacean dancers were in his way, but the dancers quickly apologized and moved out of the star's way.

Later that afternoon Kira returned to the set after emptying the trash. She ended up bumping into Devin, who spilled all the security videos he'd been carrying.

Kira apologized, "I'm sorry!" and began helping Devin pick up the video tapes. She was honestly surprised to see Devin, "You work here too?"

Devin nodded, "Yeah, don't tell Cassidy, but I got the other internship."

Kira rolled her eyes, "Some internship. So far, all I've done is empty trash and get yelled at by the Funky Fisherman."

Devin was also having a rough time, "Oh, tell me about it. All I've been doing is monitoring the closed-circuit security cameras. Not great."

Kira replied, "I'm seriously thinking of quitting."

Devin nodded in agreement as he and Kira got up, "Yeah."

Suddenly Marty the Mackerel, who was practicing, slammed into Devin, causing him to drop the tapes again.

Devin and Kira began picking up the tapes again as Marty apologized, "I'm sorry, I was just practicing the Happy Fish Dance."

Kira knew it was an accident, "It's okay."

Marty realized, "You must be the new interns."

Devin nodded, "Yeah" and continued to pick up the tapes.

Marty was actually very sweet, "Welcome. How's your first day going?"

Kira quipped, "Oh, it's probably going to be my last."

Marty encouraged, "Oh, you should never give up. It'll get better, I promise."

Suddenly the group heard the Funky Fisherman bellow, "Where's that fish?! I'm not missing my herbal full body wrap because he's late! Five… Four… Three"

Marty grimaced, "I hate it when he counts. I gotta get going. I hope you stick around. You might just get hooked."

Kira and Devin just awkwardly laughed at Marty's joke as the mackerel hurried to the set.

Kira quickly grabbed her trash can, and knew she had to head back to work. Devin had to return the tapes to security, "Well, uh, I guess I'll see ya around."

Kira nodded, "Yeah, see ya." The two interns quickly went their separate ways.

Kira returned to work in time to see part of the show's filming. Kira was able to watch from behind the director and see everything on the TV monitor.

Funky Fisherman drastically changed into his friendly persona for the cameras, "Hey, fishin' friends. I'm the Funky Fisherman. Are you ready for a cavalcade of cartoons, kids?"

The theme music began to play as Funky, Marty, and the crustacean dancers sang, "It's the Funky Fisherman Cartoon Show. So, grab your gear and we'll all go. Look, it's Marty the Mackerel. He'll hook us a cartoon spectackerel."

For a quick second, Funky almost lost his cool as Marty's fin hit him in the face but kept his façade for the cameras.

The director didn't notice; he was just pleased how well his stars were performing, "Brilliant."

Marty the Mackerel just kept smiling as he went into the Happy Fish Dance singing, "I'm a Happy Fish… Happy Fish, Happy, Happy Fish. Happy Mackerel!" He continued his Happy Fish Dance without a care, even as he accidentally smacked the Funky Fisherman a couple more times, annoying the rude star even more.

Meanwhile Elsa, Zeltrax, and Trent were watching the filming on their monitors.

Elsa commented on Marty, "Now that's scary. The giant fish man would give anyone nightmares."

Zeltrax quickly agreed, "Very frightening."

Elsa replied, "I'm gonna capture him for the Geno Randomizer. Can't be worse than the other life forces we've sampled."

Trent rolled his eyes, "That may be the dumbest idea you've had yet."

Zeltrax growled in Elsa's defense, "Watch your tongue!"

Trent, who was itching for a fight, snapped back, "Make me!"

Trent and Zeltrax glared at each other, and Elsa quickly turned towards them.

Elsa warned, "You two better figure out a way to get along, or Mesogog will put us all in the punishment chamber. Now, I'm going to go get me that fish."

Elsa sauntered between the cyborg and white ranger and left them alone to put her plan into motion.

Zeltrax got into Trent's face and warned, "You may be Anton Mercer's son, but you are still new to Mesogog's team. You shouldn't overstep your place."

Trent gave Zeltrax a sly look, "What if I don't like my place? What if I think I deserve to be higher up in the food chain? Say, second?"

Zeltrax growled, "That's my position."

Trent challenged, "Then I guess you won't mind defending it. On the battlefield."

Zeltrax stood his ground, "Name the time and place."

Trent just gave a sly smile; he was eager for this fight and was itching to humiliate Zeltrax by claiming the cyborg's rank.

Back at the TV Studio, Kira was at the food station and was tasked with picking out the green M&Ms from the candy bowl. Devin was up in the rafters working on one of the security cameras.

Kira groaned aloud, "This job couldn't get any worse."

Suddenly Elsa and the Tyrannodrones appeared on the scene.

Kira quipped, "Now, why did I have to say that?"

Devin cowered in his spot as Elsa taunted at Kira, "Hate to interrupt you at work!"

Elsa let out a laugh; Kira quickly brought up her arm to access her morpher, but then realized that Devin was still on the scene.

Kira groaned as she realized she couldn't morph. Elsa decided to take advantage of the situation and ordered her minions, "Get her."

The Tyrannodrones charged at Kira; Kira quickly began to fight and batted several of the minions away from her.

Devin gasped as several Tyrannodrones headed towards him… he was stuck on the ladder and the creatures were beginning to climb up.

Kira flipped one Tyrannodrone over the food station, causing the creature to knock over the snacks and crash to the floor.

Kira blocked another attack and kicked the director's chair towards another Tyrannodrone, tripping the minion to the floor. She then grabbed a giant fish prop and used it to bat more of the creatures away from her.

Kira spun and kicked another Tyrannodrone into the nearby costume rack.

Devin was watching the whole fight, but then the ladder slid down. Devin gasped as he quickly slid to the floor and landed in a heap.

Kira began to fight Elsa and locked her into a hold. Devin managed to duck and run from the Tyrannodrones.

Kira quipped at Elsa, "Sorry, all guests have to check in with security."

Devin whimpered out, "Um, I'll go sign them in" and ran for the exit.

Once Devin was gone, Kira shoved Elsa away from her and finally accessed her morpher.

Kira hollered, "Dino Thunder, Power Up!" and morphed into her ranger suit. Little did she know, the security camera caught her transformation into the Yellow Ranger.

Once morphed Kira quickly went back into action. She spun and kicked several Tyrannodrones away from her. She got a good grip on one and sent it flying into one of the nearby prop tables.

Kira then grabbed onto the nearby set ropes and used it as leverage to spin and knock more Tyrannodrones away.

Kira ducked and rolled onto the stage set… she kicked one of the minions off the stage, and then twisted and kicked another into the nearby set lake.

Another Tyrannodrone tried to grab Kira, but she quickly tossed it into the set lake as well.

Elsa grabbed her sword and charged at the yellow ranger. Kira managed to duck and avoided Elsa's attacks.

Kira spun and managed to elbow Elsa in the side. She twisted out of the spin and gave a strong kick that sent Elsa flying. Elsa groaned as she slammed into the doorway of Funky Fisherman's dressing room.

The impact woke up Funky Fisherman from his nap… the diva TV star angrily stormed out of his dressing room, "Who is interrupting my therapeutic cleansing nap?!"

Kira groaned, "Oh, man." That was the last thing she wanted was to get Funky Fisherman all riled up.

Marty the Mackerel then showed up on the scene still practicing his Happy Fish dance.

Elsa smiled as she saw her target, "The frighting fish. You're all mine."

Marty whimpered as Elsa sent a beam from her controller. Marty ended up ducking behind the director's TV set, and the beam hit the TV.

The TV ended up diverting the beam's path and ended up hitting Funky Fisherman instead. Funky Fisherman shrunk into pixels, and reappeared shrunk and trapped inside the TV set.

Kira cried, "Oh, no!"

Elsa quickly charged and struck Kira in the middle with her sword. Kira groaned at the impact as Elsa ordered her minions, "Get the fish!"

The Tyrannodrones quickly surrounded Marty, who whimpered as the creatures grabbed him.

Elsa cried, "Good work!" She activated an invisi-portal and quickly disappeared with her prize.

Kira groaned, "Oh, no!" as she managed to pull herself up. She couldn't believe poor Marty got captured and Funky Fisherman was now trapped in the TV set.

Kira ordered, "Power Down!" and returned to normal. She groaned as she heard Funky Fisherman demand from the TV, "What's going on? You've got 5 seconds to get me outta here!"

While Funky continued to complain, Kira quickly activated her bracelet to alert her team, "Guys, we have a problem."

Later that afternoon, word had spread around the studio that Funky Fisherman and Marty were nowhere to be found.

The director told Devin, "Sorry, Devin, but until our two stars decide to show up again, the show is on hold. You can go home."

Devin replied, "But I was just starting to enjoy my menial role." The director gently patted Devin on the shoulder and the two walked away from the set.

Once Devin and the director left, Kira checked to see that there was no one else on the scene and cried, "All clear".

Conner and Ethan quickly followed Kira, with Ethan holding Funky Fisherman's TV.

Kira replied, "We have to take him to Dr. O's lab and get him back to normal."

Funky Fisherman could hear the rangers talking, "I demand to know where you're taking me. Someone's gonna pay if I miss my ginseng facial scrub."

Ethan quipped, "Uh, we better cover this thing up just in case he can see out."

Conner agreed, "Okay" and quickly grabbed a nearby towel and put it over the TV.

Kira replied, "That's better" as Funky watched the towel go over the TV. The rangers quickly left the studio to head to the Dino Lab.

Meanwhile, Zeltrax and Trent prepared for their fight. Zeltrax replied, "Well, are you ready?"

Trent quipped, "Not quite." He summoned his morpher and cried, "White Ranger, Dino Power."

Once morphed, Trent cried, "Winner take all." This time, Trent's true voice came out, showing he was becoming more in control of his powers.

Zeltrax replied as he grabbed his sword, "The winner will be the undisputed second-in-command."

Trent grabbed his Drago sword as he and Zeltrax got into defensive positions, "You're on!"

Zeltrax charged first with his sword, but Trent matched and blocked the cyborg's every move. Trent even managed to land a few kicks on Zeltrax.

Trent managed to push Zeltrax back, but the cyborg quickly ducked and rolled back onto his feet. Zeltrax grabbed his sword, but Trent quickly went into his super run and landed several strikes.

Trent leaped at Zeltrax for another strike, but the cyborg managed to block and grab Trent's sword. Zeltrax kept his grip and pinned Trent's arm down, allowing him to strike Trent dead center on his chest.

Back at Mesogog's fortress, the Tyrannodrones brought Marty the Mackerel into the lab.

Marty commented on the lab's setup, "This is quite a set. I can almost smell the creativity."

The poor actor remained friendly as the Tyrannodrones backed him into the Geno Randomizer, "So nice to meet you. Who built your costumes? I designed mine myself, but you can probably tell."

Elsa had enough and cried, "Silence, fool!"

Marty liked Elsa's spunk, "Oh, you're good! Who's your agent?" He nervously laughed as he began to realize he was in trouble.

Elsa was now at the controls, with Mesogog by her side. Mesogog growled in displeasure at Marty, "I am not impressed, Elsa."

Elsa proceeded to fire up the Geno Randomizer as Mesogog cried, "This had better work."

After a few moments, Marty the Mackerel was turned into the terrifying Mad Mackerel.

Elsa approved of the transformation, "Now, that's a monster" as Mesogog hissed his approval.

At the Dino Lab, Hayley was scanning the TV set that the Funky Fisherman was trapped in.

Ethan cried to Hayley, "This could be the end of one of the most popular shows ever made. You gotta do something."

Hayley calmly replied, "We'll figure it out Ethan. Don't worry."

Tommy asked the trapped TV star, "Are you all right in there?"

Funky Fisherman complained, "Am I all right? Do I look all right?! I'm six inches tall!"

Kira commented, "People are so different on TV than they are in person."

Kimberly chuckled, "And I thought you would have learned that from Nikki Valentina. God, Funky is just as bad as Nikki."

Funky could hear everything and demanded, "Who are you? Where am I? I can't see a thing."

Conner asked, "What do you think they wanted with Marty the Mackerel in the first place?"

Ethan quipped, "Sushi?"

Suddenly the lab monitors went off, showing the Mad Mackerel causing trouble in town, "I'm gonna take the reef outta Reefside!"

Hayley gave Ethan and Conner a look, "There's your answer."

Tommy quipped, "I smell something fishy, all right. Hayley, see if you can figure out a way to get our friend back to normal. Kim, you help Hayley out and keep an eye on the monitors. We'll see if we can nab the big fish." Everyone nodded in agreement and prepared to go to work.

In town, Devin was sitting outside by the studio water fountain. Cassidy saw her friend and walked up to him, "Dev, what's up?" She then sat down next to him, "Eww, you look awful, even more awful than usual."

Devin replied, "Yeah, well, I just lost my internship—" realizing he let out the information before he could stop himself.

Cassidy grew furious at that news, "You got the internship- my internship!"

Devin answered, "Yes, but wait, before you go and freak out, let me tell you, it wasn't all muffin baskets and pedicures. I mean, they had me watching security camera footage all day. Whoo-hoo, yeah."

Cassidy agreed, "Okay, well, that doesn't sound like fun."

Devin replied, "The only vaguely interesting thing was when the yellow ranger turned up, and then Marty Mackerel got captured, and that was after the Funky Fisherman got stuck in a TV. It was weird."

Cassidy gasped at that news, "And you have this all on tape."

Devin answered, "Yeah, I'm sure we do, but it's all boring, boring, boring."

Cassidy quickly grabbed Devin and pulled them both up, "Devin, come on! This is the chance we've been waiting for."

The two friends prepared to leave but were surprised as they were grabbed from behind by the Mad Mackerel's fishing lure. They cried out as they were lifted into the air.

The rangers arrived on the scene and saw everything. Kira cried, "Whoa, check that out" as Cassidy and Devin were trapped into Mad Mackerel's bait jar.

Mad Mackerel cried, "Whoo-hoo, they're really biting today!"

Tommy cried out to the team, "All right, you guys ready?!"

The trio nodded, "Ready!" They quickly got into their morph sequence, "Dino Thunder, Power Up!" and transformed into their ranger suits.

The team landed on the rooftop where Mad Mackerel was at. Conner cried, "Something fishy's going on!"

Mad Mackerel taunted, "You won't get a line on me!"

Ethan replied, "We're going to scale back your operation!"

Mad Mackerel retorted, "Not till I got my limit!"

Kira cried, "We'll fillet you!"

Conner responded, "And your fishy jokes!"

Mad Mackerel replied, "Not before you taste my tuna surprise!" He then launched his tuna projectiles at the rangers.

The rangers groaned as the projectiles struck them. Conner quickly managed to roll up onto his feet and grabbed his blaster, "Here's the catch of the day!" and fired at the monster.

Mad Mackerel fired more fish projectiles at the red ranger, but Conner quickly managed to duck and roll away. Conner fired his blaster again and landed a direct hit on the monster.

Mad Mackerel groaned from the impact as Conner quipped, "I never did like fish!"

Mad Mackerel then launched his fishing rod… Kira gasped at the lure caught her back and went flying towards the monster, "Whoa! Hey!"

Ethan quickly grabbed Kira's legs, "Kira!" but went flying as well.

Conner grabbed Ethan's legs, as Tommy wrapped Conner's legs around his neck. Tommy's boots kept them anchored on a nearby stone rooftop embellishment, "Come on, hold it together guys!"

Mad Mackerel laughed as the rangers struggled, "This is the big one!"

The monster then tried to reel the rangers in, "Now ease off that line!"

The rangers crashed to the ground. Mad Mackerel still had Kira attached, "Now I reel you in!"

Kira gasped as she went airborne again, "Ethan!"

Ethan grabbed at Kira's waist, "I got you!" but went flying as well.

Conner managed to grab one of Ethan's legs and cried, "Help!" as he managed to use his other arm to grab Tommy's boot.

Tommy was on his stomach and cried, "Whoa!" as he barely managed to grab onto the stone embellishment again.

The rangers were stretched to their limit as Conner hollered, "My armpits hurt!"

Tommy cried out, "The stress level's increasing!"

The tension was too much for the monster's fishing pole and the line broke. Mad Mackerel hollered, "Oh, my pole!"

The rangers crashed to the ground in a heap, "Oww!" "What happened?" "My head!"

Mad Mackerel cried to the rangers, "My graphite pole is busted, but I'll be back, angling for another attack!" He quickly disappeared from the scene.

Meanwhile, Trent and Zeltrax continued their fight. Zeltrax managed to land a kick that sent Trent flying, but the white ranger managed to backflip and land atop a high hillside embankment.

Trent cried, "White Drago Sword!" and fired his laser arrows at Zeltrax.

Zeltrax used his sword to bat at the laser arrows and then fired an energy blast at Trent from his gloves.

Trent managed to duck and leaped off the embankment. He landed back on the beach ground in a crouch, "Missed me!"

Trent rose to his feet when his morpher surged and shocked him. Trent collapsed and turned back into his civilian form.

Zeltrax cried, "You are weak! You cannot control the White Ranger powers."

Trent defiantly taunted, "You wish!"

Zeltrax challenged, "Then prove it!" He sent another energy blast at the now-demorphed Trent.

Trent managed to lean back and avoid the blast. Zeltrax was shocked that Trent was able to do that without his powers.

The two rivals began hand-to-hand combat. Trent managed to hold his own, despite not being in his ranger suit.

As Zeltrax tried to use his sword to trip up his opponent, Trent managed to backflip away and landed in a defensive pose.

Zeltrax glared at Trent and held his sword in his hands, "Why don't you just give up while you can?"

Back at the Dino Lab, Hayley had finished her analysis of Mad Mackerel, "The energy Marty the Mackerel is using to capture people in his bait jar is the same as the energy that was used to put the Funny Fisherman here in the TV."

Funky Fisherman heard that, "That's Funky Fisherman!"

Hayley rolled her eyes, "Whatever. All you have to do is get him to fire his capture ray at the monitor, then deflect it with this reversal shield."

Tommy grabbed the device in appreciation, "Thanks, Hayley."

Kira asked, "What about Marty?"

Hayley replied, "He's still in the Mad Mackerel somewhere. The only way to free him is to destroy the Geno Randomizer's configuration."

Funky Fisherman hollered, "Where's that fish?! I heard that! That two-faced, hanger-on, fish-faced freak deserves to suffer for every bit of misery he's caused me!"

Ethan replied, "Hey, that freak made you a star."

Kira pointed out, "More importantly he's your friend, or don't you know what that word means anymore?"

Kimberly agreed, "Kia, I hate to say this, but he's so self-absorbed that he doesn't realize what a good friend Marty was to him."

Tommy said to Funky, "You may not deserve it, but you're about to get a second chance. Let's go guys!"

The trio quickly got into their stances, "Dino Thunder, Power up!" and morphed back into their suits.

Mad Mackerel had returned to Reefside causing trouble again. He had a new fishing pole and was capturing people again, "Oh yes, come to papa!"

The monster quipped as another victim entered his bait jar, "There you go! Another one! A new record! Yeah, this new pole is top of the line—get it! Line!" and laughed at his joke.

The rangers arrived on the scene, "There he is!"

Tommy hopped off his ATV and left Funky Fisherman's TV on top of the ATV, "Come on guys! Get into position."

Mad Mackerel was surprised as he turned towards the rangers. Conner cried, "Okay, let's get us a fish!"

Mad Mackerel taunted, "Can't catch me!"

Conner had enough of the monster and turned his blaster into saber mode, "Time to gut this fish!"

The red ranger leaped at Mad Mackerel, and the monster met him in mid-air. They blocked each other's blows and backflipped to the ground.

Conner leaped again at the monster with his saber, with the other rangers joining in as well with their weapons. Mad Mackerel spun around and struck the rangers in the center. The rangers groaned and collapsed to the ground.

Conner was on his back but managed to block Mad Mackerel's attack with his saber. He then struck the monster in the center and sent Mad Mackerel flying.

Mad Mackerel managed to get on his feet and cried out, "Hey!"

The rangers fired their blasters and landed direct hits. Mad Mackerel groaned as Conner ordered, "And again!"

The rangers landed more blasts causing Mad Mackerel to go backwards. Mad Mackerel cried, "Stop!" surprising the rangers and threatening held the bait jar in his fins, "Or the bait's fish paste!"

Tommy hollered, "We've got to get that bait jar!"

Mad Mackerel taunted, "You're all fish food!" and launched his tuna projectiles at the rangers.

Funky Fisherman groaned as he watched the rangers get hit and fall to the ground.

Mad Mackerel stalked forward, "You don't stand a chance!" and laughed.

Ethan yelled, "Back off!" as the monster cried, "Never!"

Kira asked, "Marty! Are you in there?"

Mad Mackerel taunted, "Marty's not here anymore!"

Tommy cried at the monster, "Give me your best shot!"

Mad Mackerel laughed, "Gladly!" and prepared to attack Tommy, not knowing the black ranger had a plan.

Tommy had Hayley's reversal shield device hidden behind his back. Tommy grabbed the device, just as Mad Mackerel fired his beam at him.

The device made a shield (with the Dino Thunder Logo on it) and deflected the ray away from Tommy. The beam struck the TV that was on the back of Tommy's ATV and restored the Funky Fisherman to his normal self.

Mad Mackerel realized, "It's a trick!"

Tommy nodded in approval, pleased that the device worked, "Thanks Hayley!"

Funky Fisherman couldn't believe he was back to normal, but still confused as to what happened to him, "Where am I?"

Kira saw that Mad Mackerel wasn't guarding the bait jar, "That's my catch!"

Mad Mackerel gasped, "No!" as Kira leaped and kicked the bait jar away from him. The bait jar shattered, releasing the energy orbs and the captured victims returned to their normal selves.

Cassidy cried to Devin, "Eww, gross! I smell like fish!" She slapped Devin's midsection as he sniffed her and himself.

Mad Mackerel cried, "That does it!" and ran from the scene.

The rangers cried, "Yeah!" as Tommy replied, "Good job!"

Conner pointed in Mad Mackerel's direction and replied to his team, "You know what to do!"

The rangers cried, "Let's put 'em together!" and combined their weapons, "Z-Rex Blaster!"

Mad Mackerel continued to run as the rangers cried, "Ready! Fire!" The Z-Rex Blaster quickly fired its energy blast and destroyed Mad Mackerel to pieces.

The rangers cheered at the victory… Elsa growled as she watched the scene on her monitors, "This isn't over yet! Try this on for size!" She pulled down the lever and activated the Hydro Regenerator.

Mad Mackerel quickly grew in size, "There's always a bigger fish!"

Tommy quickly spoke into his morpher, "Brachio!" and summoned the Dino Zords.

The rangers met up with their zords and formed the Megazord. Once the Megazord was formed, the rangers quickly began to exchange blows with Mad Mackerel.

Mad Mackerel cried, "I'll get my hooks into you!" and used his hook to strike at the Megazord's center. The impact caused the Megazord to go backwards but managed to keep its balance.

The rangers called for backup, "Parasaurzord!" The Tyranno Tail retracted and Parasaurzord became the new arm.

Ethan then summoned, "Anklyozord!" Tricera retracted, and Anklyozord became the other arm.

The rangers cried, "Casting out!" as Anklyozord's tail launched its own hook at Mad Mackerel.

Mad Mackerel gasped as he was caught and reeled in. The monster was tossed in the air and exploded.

The rangers and Funky Fisherman cheered at the victory.

Mad Mackerel crashed from the sky and landed on the ground. The explosion had destroyed the Geno Randomizer configuration and the monster turned back into Marty the Mackerel.

Marty had landed in front of Tommy and Funky Fisherman. Tommy called out in concern, "Marty?"

Marty was dizzy as he turned and spotted his friend, "Funky?"

Funky Fisherman quickly ran up to Marty, "Marty… why do I get the strangest feeling I owe you an apology?"

Marty smiled, "I don't know. But I sure feel like a tuna sandwich. Join me?"

Funky Fisherman chuckled, "Sure, pal. Come on, my treat." The two friends hugged and went on their way as Marty quipped, "It sure feels good to be back to normal."

Zeltrax and Trent's fight continued… Zeltrax landed a hard blow to Trent's leg that tripped him up and spun him into the ground.

Trent groaned as his back hit the ground. Zeltrax grabbed ahold of Trent's shirt and pulled the White Ranger to his feet, "It's time to end this!"

Trent cried, "Right!" He landed a punch and kicked out of Zeltrax's grip. The cyborg gripped his chest from the impact.

Trent cried as he transformed back into his ranger suit, "I'm more powerful than you think."

Zeltrax quipped, "Really?" as Trent replied, "Let me show you."

Trent crossed his sword into a sharp Z-pattern and sent a huge energy blast at the cyborg.

Zeltrax groaned in pain as the blast shocked him and collapsed to the ground. He managed to growl out, "This isn't finished!"

Trent taunted, "Losers can't be choosers, Zeltrax. I'll see you back at the lair… number 3." He threw up the number 3 sign at Zeltrax and disappeared from the scene.

It was a challenge, but Trent had won the battle and humiliated Zeltrax by taking the cyborg's coveted rank away from him. Trent was now second-in-command of Mesogog's forces.

After the battle, Funky Fisherman became a much friendlier person and fixed his friendship with Marty. The two were back at work on their TV set and enjoying their repaired friendship.

Funky Fisherman was making balloons, "This is for you Marty."

Marty already had his arms full of balloon animals that Funky made, "A grouper?"

Funky happily laughed, "A group of groupers!"

Both friends laughed and Marty replied, "That calls for the Happy Fish Dance!"

The two friends laughed and began to dance the Happy Fish Dance together.

Kira had managed to get Conner and Ethan visitor passes to the set. Ethan laughed at Funky and Marty's antics, "This stuff is classic."

Kira smiled, "Yeah, the Funky Fisherman even complimented my last coffee run."

Conner asked, "So, you glad you didn't quit?"

Kira nodded, "Yeah. You know, some things do get better if you just stick with them."

Devin cried at the two dancing stars, "Excuse me, please!" as he carried both arms full of security footage.

Kira asked Devin, "Hey. You sticking with the job, too?"

Devin nodded, "Yeah, its not so bad after all. Plus, Cassidy promised to forgive me if these tapes of the Yellow Ranger were any good."

That caused the rangers to become concerned as Devin continued, "Oh, I can't wait to see them. It's gonna be great."

Suddenly Marty accidentally knocked into Devin as he was dancing. Devin groaned and ended up dropping the tapes into the punch bowl.

Devin groaned, "Oh, no!"

Kira gave Devin a sympathetic look, "The only thing on those tapes is fruit punch."

Ethan chuckled at Kira's quip, as Devin pulled the tapes from the punch bowl.

Devin groaned at the damage, "I don't believe it! Why does this always happen to me?"

The trio chuckled as Devin walked away with the ruined tapes. Kira quipped, "That was close."

Thankfully Kira's identity was safe… she had learned the importance of sticking with a job, even though at times it could get difficult. Even Funky Fisherman learned a valuable lesson that he needed to be kinder and value his friends. Kira could now enjoy her internship in peace but vowed to be more careful when she morphed.

Meanwhile, Tommy and Kimberly were alone in the Dino Lab. Kimberly had just played Tommy some very important footage, "Now you see why I wanted you to see this before Hayley and the kids did."

While the battle with Mad Mackerel was happening, the rangers' monitor system alerted Kimberly of Zeltrax and Trent's battle. Kimberly quickly recorded the footage to review with Tommy, knowing it was important.

Tommy nodded, "Thank you for letting me know, beautiful. This isn't going to be easy telling Hayley and the kids that Trent has officially joined Mesogog, and that he took Zeltrax's post as second-in-command. Trent's becoming even more dangerous."

Kimberly agreed, "Trent's definitely gone to the dark side. What are we going to do, Tommy? Is there any hope of getting Trent back to good?"

Tommy shook his head, "I don't know. It isn't going to be easy, but we are going to have to do whatever it takes to stop Trent and Mesogog."

Tommy knew the Power Rangers were in for a difficult fight now that Trent had joined Mesogog's forces. He just hoped there would be a way to help Trent… without having to destroy him.
