I normally don't respond to reviews, but this time many said that
Shit author, shit story, even shittier author yada yada…all because I actually turned Kara into Harry's sister.
Now… I don't give a single flying fuck if that offends you, irritates you, or makes you drop this story. I don't type without thinking, and I don't think short-term. When I changed Kara into a magical, I had hundreds of possible butterfly effects in mind, so until and unless you have the brains to go and write your own fanfictions, don't flame without tact or thought.
For those who are authors themselves, thank you for your review, but I have this whole story planned out, and Kara changing into a magical is a part of it that was planned in the very first hour. There are arcs and plots that will show this in a major part, and if you can't bear to read this story until then, and then I thank you for the support you have shown me till now.
Now, for that one comment which said this shit ain't worth a P*T*R*N…I am not forcing or asking anyone…it is your wish to support me or not! Wait a few weeks, and you get the chapters anyway!
"What the…" Kara murmured as she looked into the mirror, unfamiliar features staring her back through the reflection. "What happened to my face?". Pushing the mirror away, Kara looked down at her changed body, her eyes widening as she saw quite a bit more mature form than what she was used to. Lost in her thoughts, Kara slowly cupped her breasts through the shirt, bewildered by the growth spurt.
"Kara!" Harry snapped, his face flushing somewhat as the teenager below him let out a short gasp, her fingers lightly squeezing at her own chest. His voice seemed to get through the haze that had descended on her, and the newly transformed teenager blushed as the fact that she was touching herself in front of Harry and Diana registered with her.
"Oh! Um, sorry," she squeaked out, and without any warning, the shattered table beside them suddenly turned into a giant balloon with the words 'I am Sorry' written on it. All of them gawked at the transformed furniture, and the silence in the room was broken by a quite 'Fuck' muttered by Harry. Pushing Kara off his lap onto the floor and ignoring the shouted 'Hey!', he stood up and reverted the table along with repairing the shattered floor.
"What in the name of Rao is happening Harry?" Kara almost screamed, staring at the table, and the reflection visible on it.
"You were dying Kara," Harry softly spoke, making the girl whiten, as the sensation of decomposing and burning from within came back to her mind. Before she descended into a panic attack, he shot a calming charm at her, and once Kara didn't look like she was paler than an inferi, he continued. "I used direct Blood Magic to heal you, because you were far too damaged for any healing spell to take effect. However, I think that the Kryptonite deteriorated your cellular makeup and the genetic structure itself, and with how abstract yet direct my demand had been, my blood healed everything wrong within your body by merging within you."
"Wait!" she gasped, "You mean that your magically infused blood transfusion turned me into a Magical-Kryptonian hybrid?"
"Yes," he nodded, looking to the side and not meeting her eyes "More than that, you have taken on the characteristics of the families I am descended from. The crimson hair is from my mother, and those cheekbones, along with your…body is certainly all Black. You are very powerful magically, but whether that has impacted your Kryptonian side, I cannot say."
Kara kept silent after that, her mind working through the information she had been given as she frowned and looked down at herself. Harry waited for her to say something, but when it became obvious that she was deep in her thoughts, he gave a nod to Diana and silently apparated back to their home. Looking around with a sigh, Harry snapped his fingers once, and various items appeared in front of him at once. Their clothes, his shrunken BMW, some photographs they had taken over the months, and finally, Kara's escape pod.
Exhaling one final time, Harry packed them up in a small pocket dimension and looked at the walls around him one final time. With a gesture of his palm, he pulled the gas cylinder towards the center of the house, and with a single thought, blasted the whole place apart in a blaze of orange flames. Not giving another glance to the burning wreckage around him, Harry apparated back to Diana's penthouse.
"We can discuss more about your changed biology later," he immediately began, conjuring a map of America in front of the two girls, and a dart in Kara's hands. "Throw the dart, wherever it lands, we will go there and start anew." They both sighed at his words, but understanding the necessity of leaving New York, Kara shook her head and looked down at the red projectile in her palm. Rolling it between her fingers, she flicked her wrist, sending the dart shooting towards the map, its movement being followed by three pairs of superhuman eyes. It dug into the map with a dull thud, and they all read the name of the new home for the Potters.
"Was it necessary to choose Las Vegas?" Harry grumbled as he signed his name on the property papers.
"You are the one who told me to flick the dart," Kara rolled her eyes, walking past him into the apartment. "Don't grumble about it now."
"All set Mr. Potter," the broker smiled, nodding at him as he handed the apartment keys to him. "Your parking space is already ready for use, and your credentials will be entered into the security system within a few minutes."
"Thanks James," Kara smiled at the man, thoroughly reveling in the blush that appeared on the young man's face. "You have helped me a lot."
"I-Uh-Thank you Ms. Potter" he stammered, and Kara giggled at the pinkness on his cheeks. "Um…considering that you are new to this city, would you lik-huh?"
"James," Harry smiled pleasantly as he rested his hand on the blond's shoulder, "You probably have more work to do, so get going"
Nodding mindlessly, James immediately turned around and walked into the elevator, not once looking back at them. Nodding to himself with a sense of self-satisfaction he had seldom experienced, Harry walked inside his new house, and Kara's jaw dropped open behind him as she looked between his retreating back and the elevator doors.
"I can't believe you just did that!" she exclaimed, walking inside and throwing her hands up in the air. Harry just snorted once, not even looking at her as he flicked his hand this way and that, sending their clothes and photographs flying to their places. He would have liked to bring the furniture too—he had really gotten attached to that bean bag over the years!—but he didn't want the headache of confounding Merlin knows how many minds into believing that he was able to shift the furniture into his new home so quickly.
"Don't be dramatic Kara," he said once he was finished with the task, "I really don't care that I have to confound one man or a hundred if it means you will stay away from…them."
"Whatever," Kara sighed, knowing a lost battle when she saw one. "As you probably haven't realized by now, I need new clothes, preferably before this conjuration disappears."
"Hmm," Harry nodded, summoning the keys and helmets before he started to walk out, "I kinda forgot that your clothes were going to be smaller after your transformation when I packed them. Still, I am sure we can find a store within a couple of blocks."
"And here I thought you would have checked those first."
"Why?"
"To find the cheapest one so that we don't rob you blind."
Giggling at her own words and the muttered 'brat', Kara ran down the stairs as she snatched the keys and the helmet from him, leaving him behind to lock the apartment. Sighing once as he turned the key, Harry thought about the last twenty-four hours. After Kara had selected Las Vegas as their new home, Harry had once again gone back to his flaming house, the place already swarming with the police and fire department both. A few confusion charms later he returned back to Diana's penthouse, the blast having been termed a result of a gas leak in his house. With his bank account a few thousand dollars heavier after the insurance was claimed, Harry was ready to immediately set off for Las Vegas, one of the policemen had given him the number of a broker in the Sin City.
But when he had entered the living room of his girlfriend, he was greeted by Kara's quiet sobs as she sat on the couch, her arms wound tightly around Diana. The older woman was running her hand down the Kryptonian's back, murmuring softly in her ear as Kara buried herself further in Diana's embrace.
Evidently, in the time he had been gone, the calming charm over Kara had worn off, her own magical power having eroded away the foreign spell. The sensation and the memories of getting attacked with Kryptonite had drowned her senses, the panic attack that he had staved off coming back with vengeance. For the next hour, Harry and Diana had sat with her, doing their best to help her through the painful ordeal. It had taken several minutes before Kara somewhat calmed down as she buried her memories deep inside her mind.
But even then, Harry had known that she was never going to be the same. When they went to the airport, her eyes had flicked around constantly and despite it not being visible, he knew that she had been listening as hard as she could for even a hint of danger. Even during the time they were in the air and she had been laughing and talking with him, he could feel the tightness in her body, her muscles ready to respond at the slightest provocation.
Moments ago, James had seen a beautiful, red-blond haired teenager who had a cheerful personality, but underneath all that, he had been unable to see how Kara had almost punched his head off half-a-dozen times. Harry sighed once again as he emerged into the parking lot, his thoughts fixated upon his sister. While he had one day hoped to ingrain some 'constant vigilance' in Kara…this wasn't the way he wanted it to have happened. Pausing for a moment, Harry turned to his right and looked through the walls, his eyes finding Kara easily as the blond silently sat upon the bike, her hands tightened upon its handle as she stared into distance.
Fuck.
He really should have kept those mercenaries alive.
"I have missed this," Diana sighed as she leaned her head on his shoulder. "It has been quite some time since we had any alone time, and no Harry, sex doesn't count."
Stifling the snort in his throat, Harry simply nodded at her words as they crossed the road, her arm linked through his and her cap tickling his neck. "Do you want to hit a casino?" he asked, turning his head to look at her as he nodded at the flashing signs at their right.
"Why Mr. Potter? Do you take me for a gambler?"
"I take you as the woman who would like to have that Sapphire necklace a few windows back."
"Hmm," she nodded, "That was a very nice necklace, but do you think your patented 'Potter Luck' will help you in any casino? You are a real life example of Murphy's Law, Harry"
"Nah!" he shook his head, unlinking his arm from Diana's before he wrapped it around her, lying on her waist, "That was a long time ago. If it would have been true now, then I wouldn't have you on my arm now would I?"
"You are flattering me quite a lot today," she arched an eyebrow, "Are you buttering me up for something?"
"I want to try the Lasso on you?"
"Great Hera!" Diana gasped, "Have you no shame Harry? Daring to even think about defiling that thing in such a way."
"I don't see you refusing," he shot back as they entered the casino, "For centuries it has been in your family and don't tell me not a single soul thought of bondage."
"Not everyone is as depraved as you." she turned her nose up in the air, "Kara speaks right about you."
Harry raised an eyebrow at that, not at all surprised by the revelation. Waiting until Diana gave him a mocking, victorious smirk, he picked up a glass from a passing waiter and said, "I am not the one who bought lube and a…tail."
Ignoring the choking coughs that came out of her throat at his calm and utterly unexpected words, Harry swiftly walked forwards and got a few chips for the night from the counter. Flipping a red one in his fingers, Harry looked out at the various games happening in front of him, his eyes taking in the happy and smug grins of the winners, as well as the cursing and despondent visages of the losers. Turning towards a slightly blushing goddess a step behind him, he extended his to her with a cocky smirk and winked.
"Well, My lady, how many sapphires do you want?"
"5 million," Diana mumbled as they walked out of the second casino they had decided to walk into, "and with the two you won back in the first one, that's seven million…you are buying me 2 necklaces now!"
"That's it?" Harry asked, his voice bemused as he nodded at his pockets.
"Oh don't worry," she chuckled, her blue eyes twink;ling with delight as she continued, "After that, you are probably going to spend a lot of that money buying gifts."
"What?" he blinked in surprise. "Why would I buy gifts when the only people I know are you and Kara?"
"We are going to Themyscira," she answered, raising an eyebrow as if daring him to argue with her. "My mother and sisters want to meet you, and I think some time spent in the seclusion and safety of my home will be good for Kara. Moreover, you will be able to teach her magic without any interference on the island."
"That…Damnit, I actually forgot about that."
"I know," she giggled, "Anyways, what else have you planned for our date Mr. Potter?"
"Wel, I have got the money," Harry chuckled, bringing his smartphone out and flipping it once before he dropped it back in his pocket, "Now I only need some world-class entertainment befitting royalty, and utterly mouth-watering yet healthy food for your waist to stay at 22 inches."
"No need to worry about my waist, Harry," Diana sniffed once, winkling at him a moment later as she continued, "I am sure you can help me burn a calorie or thousand to keep my body in shape."
"Oh I can do much better than a thousand my dear," he smirked back at her, before with a flourish of his arm, they entered the building to his right. "But for now, let's enjoy what this city has to offer."
"And what 'Royal Entertainment' have you arranged for the princess of Amazons?"
Grinning at her skeptical tone and the mocking expression, he walked them to the frontmost table in the dozen and some that were present. Diana looked around herself as she placed her elbows on the table, both of them standing side by side while the musicians in the corner played gentle music. "So what is this?" she asked after a few moments, her eyes still trained upon the raised stage ahead of them. "Some drama or such?"
"Hmm," he nodded at the stage, "a drama on the Shinto Pantheon. Considering your upcoming Japan tour and the amount of anime you are watching, I think you are going to really like this."
"Really?" Diana gasped slightly, before her eyes narrowed into a glare and she turned towards him, "How do you know I watch anime?"
"Please," Harry rolled his eyes, knowing it would further frustrate the woman. "You think you are the only one Kara talks to? And Devils and Fairies, seriously?"
"It's cute" came the mumbled response as Diana blushed slightly, her eyes lowering to the table in an uncharacteristic show of childishness from the usually confident and headstrong princess.
It took the full strength of his occlumency to stop himself from swooping down and kissing those rosy cheeks of hers. Instead, Harry simply settled for meeting her eyes once those blue irises rose up, and with a feather light touch against her mental barriers, he sent a veritable tsunami of his emotions into her mind.
Diana gasped quietly at that, her mental barriers not diminishing the sensations of his thoughts in the slightest as she felt the seemingly unending ocean of his adoration, love and admiration for her. Her barely receded blush came back with a renewed vengeance as once along with the all-encompassing love, she also felt the burning heat of his lust splash against her mind. Before she could say or do anything in response to this soul-searing, intimate gesture, a deep sound echoed all around them, and darkness fell over the hall as the curtains on the stage rolled up.
"You know, I just realized something."
"Oh?" Diana smiled as she looked at him, both of them deftly avoiding a kissing pair of teens as they walked out of the building. "What is that?"
"Every god who has dominion over thunder or lightning has a problem in one way or form," Harry answered with a frown on his face. At Diana's look of confusion, he elaborated, "Zeus, Thor, Indra, and Susanoo were all…uh, how do I explain this? Right, Indra had a habit of being paranoid for his throne as the King of Gods, which coincidentally is the same thing Zeus was known to exhibit. On the other hand, Thor was loud, brash and quick to fight, something which the play here showed was the same with Susanoo too."
"That is…very true now that I think about it." Diana giggled, "I particularly liked the actor who became Susanoo, and that girl who acted as his wife was also very good."
"Yeah," he agreed, "That bit about their marriage and the simple, countryside life they lived was very emotional."
"And the music!" she gasped, her eyes closing and a wide smile spreading across her face as she leaned against him completely. "The music was simply divine. I don't think I have ever heard such a beautiful, soft melody anywhere before."
Harry simply hummed in agreement, and both of them enjoyed the peace and silence around them as they walked arm in arm. This was bliss, Harry decided as he felt Diana lean even more heavily upon him, her head nestling upon his shoulder and her right hand coming to burrow within the lock formed by their already joint arms. After a few minutes, they reached his apartment building, and with a grin coupled with a bow, Harry stood at the entrance of the elevator, causing Diana to muffle and snort as she walked inside, pulling him by the back of his neck a moment later.
"Where is this food of gods that you spoke of?" she asked shortly, not even looking at him as she inspected her nails. "I hope you aren't planning on feeding me something so plebeian that I might as well go hungry tonight!"
"Oh don't worry," he grinned at her, walking forwards and trapping her between his body and the metal wall behind her. "If there is one thing you can be sure of tonight, you aren't going to remain hungry in any way or form."
Walking off into the suddenly there corridor the next moment, Harry left Diana gasping and blushing in the elevator, his hands inside his pockets as he whistled a small tune. The princess, on the other hand, stood still for another few moments as his words brought back the vivid and quite memorable sensation of experiencing Harry's feelings for her just before the play. Cursing her own love and his actions, Diana followed after him, her hunger already reaching a boiling point as she smelt the heavenly aroma of his cooking.
As Diana hung her coat by the entrance and walked into her house, it suddenly turned pitch black for her. Alarmed for a moment, she calmed as soon as a familiar hand touched her shoulder, and silently, she walked wherever he was leading her to. Moments later, Diana felt him push her down on the chair, and once she was seated, the magical darkness disappeared…and she gasped loudly.
Gone were the apartment and the sounds of the city outside, the walls and the concrete jungle replaced by quite a familiar scene. The sounds of waves lashing against rocks reached her ears, and following it were the sounds of a melody coming from the city a couple of klicks away. The night sky above her twinkled with billions of stars lighting up the heavens and in front of her sat the wizard who had made this all possible.
A dinner, in an illusion of Themyscira that was so well crafted that had she not known about his talents, she never would have guessed it.
"Oh, Harry," she smiled at him broadly, her eyes shining with delight as she once again returned to examining the illusion he had erected. "You made this from the memories you saw of it in my mind?"
"Yeah," he nodded back, "Perks of having a Kryptonian brain I guess, I don't forget anything."
"Your Kryptonian biology certainly has its uses," Diana grinned unabashedly, causing Harry to snort. "At least I don't have to care about turning your body to pulp accidentally."
Shaking his head at her thoughts, Harry was about to summon the food he had cooked, when Diana suddenly stood up and pulled him out of his chair. As she put her hands on his shoulders and looked at him expectantly, Harry rolled his eyes but smiled nonetheless as a moment after, he dropped his right to her hip and his left caught her right in its grip. And then, slow music started to get played out of nowhere, the couple slowly moving to its tune as they danced.
"This is nice," Diana whispered, looking into his eyes as she felt her hair shift in a sudden breeze. "I never knew you could create such intricate and realistic illusions."
"Well, it wasn't completely my brain I guess," He smiled bashfully. "I came upon Themyscira a month or so ago in the night, and this was the spot I landed on."
Diana froze immediately, her eyes staring up at him with confusion, the confusion that soon increased even more when she saw his eyes widen and then close. Clearly, the fact that Harry had somehow found Themyscira—an island enchanted by the gods themselves—was supposed to be a secret.
"Wh-How did you even find it?!" she asked, her voice echoing around them as she took a step back, her blue eyes wide and worried. Maybe the barrier was failing? Maybe even now there were Satellites and other tools of Man encroaching and finding her home. Hades! She ha-
"Diana," Harry gently said, cupping her face in his hands and stopping her rising panic in its tracks with an overpowered calming charm. "Relax, the wards around the island are as strong as ever. You don't have to worry about anyone else finding your home the way I did."
"How did you find Themyscira?" she asked after a few moments, her tone telling Harry all about how angry she was with him at the moment.
Wincing at the frigid voice, Harry sighed and took a deep breath, smelling the faint scent of forests and salt and fire in the air. "I have been searching around the globe for places with high magical energy for the last few months," he began, looking up to meet Diana's blue eyes. "I visited ancient locations from every mythology and historical importance, checking each and every one of them for magic. Old Temples in India, Indonesia, Japan, Myanmar, and several other neighboring nations. Ruined and crumbling Palaces across the European and Asiatic lands, the Pyramids of Giza, the Mayan Civilization's remains…I went to each and every one of them."
"Why?"
"I needed enough magic to rend the barrier between the Universes…magic I had hoped I would find in ancient places associated with gods and deities," he answered, the frustration in his voice taking Diana by surprise as Harry turned around and crossed his arms over his chest. "But not a single temple or ruin had what I needed! Either they are all completely magicless, or the energy has faded so much over the centuries that I have better hope of splitting the Fabric of Reality with my bare hands!"
Diana blinked in surprise. The fabric of Reality? Barrier between Universes? Suddenly the reason behind Harry reading a veritable library of books on a variety of subjects during the last few weeks made sense to her. Whenever she had asked him about it, Harry had just deflected her queries or told her that he was reading them so that he could get a few degrees…but now she understood it. Harry had lied to her. He wasn't going to get some degrees or anything, he was doing it all to find Faora-Hu-Ul, his previous lover, and the woman who had been pregnant with his child.
"Remove this Illusion. Now."
"Whu-Diana? Wait!" Harry began, realizing the train of Diana's thoughts, his hands reaching out to her in an attempt to stop and explain things to the enraged woman. "I know who this looks l-"
"NOW!"
This time, the power in her voice was so great that the sound waves pushed Harry back, and for a moment, Diana was shocked by her own outburst. Appearing to wilt before her eyes, Harry just nodded tiredly and turned around, the island and the sea disappearing into nothingness to reveal the interior of Harry's apartment. She stood her spot, stunned beyond belief with how the last five minutes had gone. A sudden touch brought her back from her reverie, and Diana felt the beginnings of guilt form in her heart as she felt Harry push her coat over her shoulders.
"Yo-You can sleep in Kara's room if you are going to stay here for the night," he said, pulling back from her and turning around to walk out of the apartment, the entrance glowing a bright golden as he passed underneath it. Her eyes still trained on the spot from where he had disappeared out of her vision, Diana didn't even realize she was crying until Kara's hand wiped away the tears and brought her into a hug.
She hadn't really wanted to snap at him so harshly. Not after he had taken her out for a wonderful evening. Not after he had prepared her favorite dishes for dinner. Not after the time they had spent together. For Zeus' sake, Harry had even told her explicitly that he loved Faora even though he had fallen in love with her!
But then why did it hurt so damn much?!
