Mission 3: Show Me Your Moves
'There must be some way to prove you're really Akai Shuichi, Okiya Subaru...' Amuro thought. 'Something that you and Akai have in common...'
'That's it!'
.
.
.
"A Jeet Kune Do competition?" Haibara said skeptically as she dropped some fish food into Shuu's bowl. "What does this have to do with uncovering Subaru-san?"
'Akai is an expert at Jeet Kune Do. If I see Subaru's moves, I'll be able to tell if it's him.' He thought to himself.
Not wanting to get into his past with Akai, Amuro simply said "I need to see his skills. I'll be able to tell if he's holding back, trust me on this! I'm sure I can also get close enough to his neck in the process."
"You're going to be entering as well? Do you even know Jeet Kune Do?" Haibara raised an eyebrow.
"Well, I may not be an expert, but I have some fighting experience." He shrugged. "Besides, I don't need to win, I just need to get to Okiya-san.
'Now that I think about it, Dai-kun was also...' Haibara remembered the ex-Black Organization member, who Subaru seemed to resemble.
"Okay...but how are we gonna get him to go?"
"Er... I already signed us up." Amuro said while rubbing the back of his head. "I was hoping we could just ask?"
She sighed. "You can try, but I highly doubt he'll go just because we ask."
The two headed next door to see the man in question.

"Hi, neighbor!" Amuro greeted. "May we come in?"
"Of course." Okiya replied, motioning them to come inside. "What brings you two here?" He kneeled down to Haibara. "Missed me already, huh?"
"You wish." She scoffed.
They came in and sat on the couch. Amuro pulled up an ad for the competition on his phone.
"Actually, we were wondering if you would be interested in-"
"We signed you up for a Jeet Kune Do competition, Amuro-san's entering too. You gonna do it or what?" Haibara interrupted, wanting to just cut to the case.
"Jeet Kune Do?" He looked up as if he suddenly remembered something and smiled. "Well, I don't know if I'd be any good, but it sounds like fun." He agreed.
'He actually said yes!' They both thought; Amuro happily, and Haibara skeptically.
"Didn't you say you had back-aches or something? Don't you think that'll be a problem?" Haibara said, referring to their recent trip to the festival.
Amuro gave her a little nudge. 'Shh! He already agreed!'
"Oh, that..." He said before fixing his glasses. "After eating some medicinal curry, my back pains disappeared right away. It was quite miraculous, really."
"You seriously expect me to believe that, you little-"
Amuro quickly covered her mouth before she could finish.
Wow, that's amazing! Well, we better go. See you at the match." Amuro said before carrying her out of the house, not seeing the little smirk on Subaru's face.

Haibara and Amuro arrived at the arena. Amuro headed down to the area for competitors.
Taking a seat in the stands, Haibara was deep in thought.
'They're so similar, if Subaru-san really was Dai-kun... Ugh, does that make Dai-kun a lolicon?!' She shook her head in disbelief.
Subaru and Amuro both defeated their respective opponents with ease, managing to impress Haibara.
'Subaru-san is actually a pretty good fighter, I guess this won't be as easy as we thought.' She pondered as she sat up in her seat. 'But Amuro-san did pretty well too, there's still hope…'
The two men were now face to face with a look of satisfaction. Both managed to work their way up pretty far in the tournament.
"Don't hold back…" Amuro said as he took a fighting stance.
Subaru smirked as he also assumed position. "Wouldn't dream of it…"
Haibara's eyes focused hard on them in anticipation, until she heard a familiar voice.
"Ah-le-le? Is that Haibara?" A young boy with glasses asked, with two teenage girls standing behind him. 'What's Haibara and Amuro doing here?'
"Edogawa-kun!" Haibara exclaimed with surprise.
"We're here to see Sera-san's match. The women's division is starting soon." Ran explained as they sat down. "And you?"
"I came to see those two" She explained, motioning her head to the stage.
"Whoa, is that Subaru-san and Amuro-san? Two hunks together, lucky us!" Sonoko giggled.
"Psst. Why are you here? And Subaru-san and Amuro-san?" Conan whispered to Haibara.
'Akai-san must have come after I mentioned to him I would be here, but why would he enter the competition?' He thought confusingly.
"Hmph, that's none of your concern." She said. "Although with you here, there'll most certainly be some murder."
"Oi, oi..."
The match was about to start, but Subaru looked completely calm. AMuro's eyes narrowed in intensity, ready to go all out. Haibara was paying careful attention, that is, until...
AHHHHH!
A scream pierced through the audience, making the audience all stand up. One of the competitors had been found dead.
"A case?! Nobody moves until the police come!" Conan said in a professional manner. "Let's go, Haibara!"
Haibara just stood there, looking annoyed at the child next to them. Not liking the atmosphere, Conan began to back away.
"I better go investigate..." He said nervously, running towards the source of the scream. Of course, the match had been canceled.
Amuro looked up at Haibara in disbelief, taking note of Conan in the audience.
Subaru cocked his head to the side with a slight frown. "Oh dear… it looks like we'll have to spar another time."
"Y-yeah…" Amuro sighed, as he walked past Subaru to get to the exit.
Subaru revealed a slight smirk, mumbling just loud enough for Amuro to hear as he walked away.
"Better luck next time, friend."
Amuro and Haibara both groaned in unison.
"STUPID DEATH MAGNET!"
