"I remember. You said that the importance of the Archons lies in being present and promoting the nation in which they are located, or at least that is how they see it in Inazuma." The blonde responded with a slight nod.
"This is how Narukami dictates it. More than an Archon, what the nation needs is a king, a shogun who constantly guides them as their highest point of reference. For that reason I want to keep our courtship a secret, since I don't want to get you involved yet. And as for me…" Ei opened the puppet's chest and began to place a rather peculiar kind of slot. "It is obvious that I cannot stray from my duties. But I have never been very good at the rear of wars, since it was much easier for me to face problems face to face, unlike my sister Makoto who was exactly the opposite." Ei closed the puppet's chest, then placed a hand on its head. "At first, Shogun Raiden only served as a confinement, as a way to isolate myself from the future and stay in the past, but now she is much more. Since she will be the one who guides Inazuma to prosperity until I return." A strong purple glow erupted from Ei's hand, and said light transported around the puppet's body in a matter of seconds.
Aether just stood next to Ei and waited patiently, until the puppet finally opened its eyes. At first she looked somewhat bewildered, although it was difficult to confirm this when her face was almost emotionless.
"How do you do this?" Aether asked, taking the puppet's hand carefully, to which she just looked at him.
"It's like creating a human, only mechanized. Its strength depends a lot on how much power I invest in it, and in this case I can say that it wouldn't be able to hurt even a fly." Ei commented with a smile as she began to pat his head, under the silent gaze of the puppet, who looked at her with a slight shine in his eyes.
"Does it have any side effects?" Aether asked, fixing his gaze on Ei.
"You won't get that power back until the puppet dies, or you can also do a type of symbiosis to share the power, like you did before." Ei responded, extending her hands towards the puppet to help him up.
"I will fulfill my mission, mother." The puppet said in a somewhat cold tone, but the last word certainly caught Aether's attention.
"Did she call you mother?" Aether asked with wide eyes.
"Well, she's almost like a daughter." Ei patted him on her head a couple of times, something the puppet seemed to enjoy. "I had never really paid much attention to it, since the previous Shogun lacked feelings and never had any affection towards me. Speaking of which, I also have another son… and I must apologize to him." Aether saw the regret in her eyes, something that surprised him a little.
"Don't worry." The blonde placed a hand on her shoulder, making Ei look at him in slight surprise. "I promise you we will find him." He concluded with a slight smile.
"You are so kind, as always." Ei placed a hand on his to show him the affection she had for him. "But we already met him. It's the Fatui with the big hat." Those words made Aether blink in shock.
"Wait! You mean Scaramouche?!" The traveler exclaimed somewhat exasperated, but he could not continue his outburst, since the puppet hugged him out of nowhere showing her attachment to him.
"Hey?! NO!" Ei shouted comically as she pushed the puppet away, making Aether very confused.
"What was that?" He asked with a roll of his eyes.
"Since I created her based on me, apparently she was influenced by my feelings towards you." Ei responded, then fixed her gaze on the puppet. "Listen, he is mine, and mine alone. I won't share it." Ei showed her most jealous side as she gave the puppet a serious look, who only nodded.
"I already understand it. That means he is my father." The puppet commented as he fixed his gaze on Aether, making the blonde sweat comically while Ei blushed to death.
"One is a Fatui, the other barely has feelings…" The blonde fixed his gaze on Ei, who looked very embarrassed. "What a dysfunctional family we have." He concluded, making Ei even more embarrassed.
"I know it's my fault! I promise to fix it!" She exclaimed nervously, drawing a small smile from Aether.
"I know you will, but the most important thing now is knowing where you will sleep." He declared, looking around the destroyed bedroom. "I have many rooms, I can assign you to…"
"Can't I sleep with you?" Ei interrupted him, making him look at her with widened eyes.
"Are you sure? I don't want to make you uncomfortable…" The blonde commented as he rubbed his hair nervously.
"Make me uncomfortable? We've slept together before, and you've always done the exact opposite of that." Ei commented with a sweet smile.
Aether looked at the puppet, who was silently observing the conversation so as not to interrupt. Her mere presence reminded him of something very important.
"Would you mind if my "other daughter" sleeps with us?"
"You mean Paimon? When we sleep together I would like to have you all to myself, especially so we don't get disturbed."
"You are too direct, aren't you even a little bit ashamed?"

Ei placed the clothes inside the closet selectively, while Aether sat watching her from his bed.
"I never thought it would take so much to convince Paimon…" The blonde commented with a sigh covered in fatigue.

"Going back to the talk we all had at dinner, I think it's safe to say that you did a great job." Aether commented, getting out of bed. "Everyone seemed to be very satisfied and happy with the new training method, especially Itto." The blonde approached to hug her from behind, making a light laugh escape from Ei.
"That young man is too energetic. It makes an incredible contrast to Shenhe's temperament. I hope that doesn't cause problems in the future." Ei let her body rest on Aether's while he continued arranging the clothes to express his affection.
"You think opposites can't get along? So what are we?" Aether kissed her neck to emphasize his words.
Ei didn't respond to anything, the only thing she did was tilt her neck to the other side and take his head with the intention of deepening that gesture even more.
To say that she was delighted with that moment of intimacy was an understatement.
But this was just the tip of the iceberg regarding what she wanted.
