On New Krypton, Kara addressed the council. "Your request for New Krypton to join the Galactic Federation is denied once more, Kara Zor-El," Tor-Argo said to her in Kryptonian.

"This is a waste of potential. Under a yellow sun, you would have powers like mine. Even if you refused to fight, you could still use these powers to advance scientific pursuits," Kara argued.

"The radiation of the yellow sun has an intoxicating effect on our people. We cannot afford rogue Kryptonians conquering planets or threatening my power," Chancellor Tor-Argo said.

"I put your ass in power. I can easily take it away," Kara threatened.

"Your threats bore me, Kara Zor-El. I'm bored now," Chancellor Tor-Argo rolled his eyes.

"This isn't over," Kara told him and left in a huff. In the open air, Kara eyed the red giant sun. Brainiac 5 joined her as she went to her shuttle.

"Perhaps we can stay and recruit individual members," Brainiac 5 suggested.

"They'll all say no," Kara said annoyed. "After a thousand years, no members of the House of El are left. My entire family tree is gone," she said mournfully.

"Lallor is under Vindicator occupation until a new referendum can be taken," Brainiac 5 said changing the subject.

"I need an S-class Vindicator meeting," Kara ordered.

Earth

In a virtual meeting, Kara, Mon, Saturn Girl, Brainiac 5, Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad, Shrinking Violet, Ultra Boy, Sensor Girl, Dreamer, Wildfire, and Timber Wolf sat at a conference table. Many of them were deployed to different planets conducting their own missions. "Alexandra Danvers, my sister, must be treated with respect. She must be treated as an extension of myself. She can't be treated like any other human, because she's not like any human that exists in this time. You got it?" Kara began.

"So, we should consider her part of the chain of command?" Saturn Girl asked.

"No...that's not what I said," Kara backtracked.

"Then, I don't know what you want, Supreme Leader," Saturn Girl said confused.

"Yes, I can see that," Kara allowed. "Uh...you know, Gates? The Vindicator that looks like a bug and is constantly demanding rights for insects on various planets? You know who the hell I'm talking about, right?" Kara asked.

"Yeah, bug-boy," Cosmic Boy recalled. "A B-class hero that can teleport."

"That's the one. Treat her like him," Kara said to them all. "Alex is now part of the royal family by virtue of being my legally adopted sister. So, her rank is officially #0, alright, but you all need to treat her like Gates. Am I clear?"

The Vindicators pounded the table indicating that they did. What Kara was trying to articulate was that even though Alex was now a high-ranking official within the Galactic Federation, her orders were not to be followed if they were overly controversial or uninformed. Kara then turned to Cosmic Boy. "Cosmic, what the fuck? Be more decisive. I shouldn't have to be involved in every petty affair. You see injustice, you take action," she scolded.

"Yes, Supreme Leader," Cosmic Boy replied.

"This is going to come back to bite me, isn't it?" Kara realized.

"It always does," Brainiac 5 confirmed.

"So, what rank should be given to Kelly Olsen?" Saturn Girl smirked wanting to create controversy. "She is the wife of the Supreme Leader's dear sister."

"Oh, snap!" several Vindicators shouted and hooted.

"Alexandra Danvers and Kelly Olsen married in the 21st century. Per Article 1, Section 9 of the Earth Constitution, no ex post facto laws shall be passed. In the spirit of this section, their marriage will continue to remain legally valid. The Christian Church, however, will not recognize the marriage for obvious reasons," Brainiac 5 articulated.

"What he said," Kara agreed. "Kelly has no rank in our organization but don't be an ass to her. Now, we're going to put the Lallor fuck-up behind us and move forward."

Mars

In the caves of Mars, Alex and Kelly were covered in red dust from the storm. They were led to a pool to clean up by the Green Martians. Alex cautiously touched the water and found it warm enough. "It's good," she said to Kelly.

"Do you think it's okay to bathe here?" Kelly asked concernedly.

"Green Martians can see through our clothes and read our minds, so fuck it," Alex said nonchalantly.

"Well, okay then," Kelly agreed.

The two took off their clothes and became neck-high in the water. Within a short time, both had removed all the red dust from their hair and skin. "I don't know. I kind of like it when you have red hair," Kelly smiled.

"What else do you like?" Alex asked getting close to her.

"Alex, are you sure?" Kelly asked anxiously.

"Let them watch," Alex smiled and kissed her.

The two kissed and touched each other in the pool for a long moment while the cave was full of curious Green Martians who had never seen two human women interact like this before.

Earth

At the Vindicators headquarters, Cosmic Boy and Brainiac 5 monitored a peace summit involving Galactic Federation council members and a squid-looking thing on a video screen. At the squid's side was a robotic translator wearing black and looking nefarious. "Barney, you sure this a trap?" Cosmic Boy asked indecisively.

"Do you think it's wise to question me?" Brainiac 5 asked condescendingly.

"I just want to know whether you're certain before I crash a peace summit that could prevent wars and save lives," Cosmic Boy said reasonably.

"I'm ninety-eight percent confident," Brainiac 5 admitted. "Our council members are about to die at the hands of their newest ambassador."

For this peace summit, the Galactic Federation Senators had to be physically present. The squid-looking ambassador could only communicate through physical touch as it was blind and deaf. The squid proceeded to bond with the senators with its tentacles entering their ears, their mouths, attaching to their nipples, and down their pants. "Well...shit," Cosmic Boy muttered. "Karate Kid, Element Lad, Dream Girl, go!" he ordered.

Karate Kid suddenly punched through the wall with his fist. "Oh, yeah!" he said impressed with himself.

"I could have transmuted the wall, ass," Element Lad chided.

"Some of us like to get our hands dirty," Karate Kid said defensively.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" a Galactic Federation Senator raged at them. "This is a private ceremony."

"So are funerals," Karate Kid pointed out. "That translator is an asshole and if we don't stop him, we're all going to be covered in shit."

"The translator is emitting a gas that when interacted with Ambassador Squirly becomes a poison," Brainiac 5 told them all.

"I'll just turn the gas into helium," Element Lad smiled as he used his powers. Immediately, everyone in the room shouted in a high-pitched voice. The translator fired a razor wheel at Karate Kid which he barely dodged.

"Transmute that," Karate Kid yelled at Element Lad.

"I'm not touching that shit," Element Lad refused.

The translator then turned his right arm into a plasma cannon and fired at them. "Holy shit!" Element Lad said as he barely got out of the way. "Barney, what other abilities does he have?" Karate Kid asked him.

"Please hold," Brainiac 5 said, and then turned to Cosmic Boy. "Regardless of the outcome of this fight, you showed decisive action."

"Hold my hairy ass," Karate Kid shouted back via radio to Brainiac 5.

"Don't threaten me with a good time," Brainiac 5 said unconcernedly.

"Hey, Dream Girl, you awake? What the fuck?" Karate Kid asked as Nura stared forward like she was in a trance.

"What?" she snapped out of it.

A beam nearly hit them both. "Shit!" Karate Kid hit the floor.

Nura formed a forcefield in front of herself. Laser beams from the translator merely bounced off the shield. Nura then kicked the translator's robot arm off. "Wait, I thought we already beat this guy," Nura said confused as Karate Kid took hold of the translator.

"I think you mean your dream of the future," Karate Kid assumed.

"Maybe," Nura considered and shrugged.

"All under control," Element Lad reported.

Cosmic Boy signed off and took a seat while Brainiac 5 worked on his computer. "I've identified the translator as working for the Acarian syndicate that would profit from war. Thanks to you and Dream Girl, they've been shut down."

"You don't need to patronize me," Brainiac 5 reminded him.

"I'm merely acknowledging a team effort," Cosmic Boy said exasperatedly. "You know, keeping these teams together is not easy. Sun-Boy and Chameleon nearly came to blows over religion. You'd think that a shape-shifting alien would acknowledge our lord and savior, Jesus Christ," Cosmic Boy said dismayed. "You're not listening to a damn word I've said, have you?"

"I listen to everything, but I have to prioritize information I find to be useful," Brainiac 5 burned.

"You going to give any credit to Dream Girl?" Cosmic Boy asked.

"I have no ego. Dream Girl did dream of the assassination in advance but froze when the actual fight occurred. Her record will reflect the entire story," Brainiac 5 said simply.

"If she hadn't dreamed of the assassination, they would all be dead," Cosmic Boy pointed out.

"Over the course of microseconds, I knitted together seemingly random events on different planets that all came to the same conclusion: murder. This is what I do. I expend energy and brainpower beyond your comprehension to make deductions on available data. Even without Dream Girl's precognition, I would have given the order to stop the assassin," Brainiac 5 said.

"But they're always accurate," Cosmic Boy said referring to Nura's dreams.

"The future is always in motion. I do not let you know all the precognitions that fail to materialize," Brainiac 5 revealed.

"That's kind of fucked up. You treat us all like puppets," Cosmic Boy said offended.

"We're all puppets. Some of us can see the strings and can view upon the master," Brainiac 5 replied.

The two then entered another room and found Nura sleeping on a bed. "Wait for it," Brainiac 5 said keeping Cosmic Boy back, and then suddenly Ultra Boy slammed Colossal Boy through the ceiling and onto the floor. "What the shit?!" Nura suddenly woke up and got out of the way before she could be crushed.

"I really wish they would spar outside," Cosmic Boy frowned.

"Dream Girl, we just received a communique from your home world. They say it's an emergency," Sun Boy said urgently.

"What is it?" Nura asked alarmed.

"Someone on Naltor has taken away their ability...to...dream for the last...nine...days!" Sun Boy said dramatically.

"Well, I guess that means I'm the only Naltorian able to dream," Nura smirked.

"Fix it," Brainiac 5 ordered.

Mars

Alex and Kelly came back to base wearing traditional Martian clothing. "How was your exploration?" Brainiac 5 asked.

"Just great, Barney. Just being outside on another planet is exciting," Kelly gushed.

"You've certainly made yourself a sensation on Mars," Brainiac 5 said.

"Barney, we need to talk," Alex said sitting them all down at a table. "I'm grateful for helping us conceive but I don't think it's necessary for me to orgasm for it to trigger. Just change the setting so it can manually fire."

"I'm sorry. I can't do that," Brainiac 5 denied.

"Why the fuck not?" Alex asked crossly.

"Pope John Paul II taught that it is best for spouses to climax simultaneously. It is important for the two of you to share your bodies in this process with equal satisfaction," Brainiac 5 said.

"I'm sure he wouldn't approve of what we're doing here," Alex said scornfully.

"I think it raises a good point. We don't know which one of these sessions is going to conceive our baby. We should make each time profound and sincere just in case it happens to be the one," Kelly said.

"You could fertilize an egg in a lab and implant it inside me and it would still be the same thing," Alex pointed out.

"Try to be more romantic, Alex," Brainiac 5 said condescendingly.

"You're treating us like some kind of social experiment," Alex accused.

"You're not wrong," Brainiac 5 admitted.

"We're trusting you with this technology," Alex said seriously.

"Trust me on this. I want the best possible outcome and that includes your recollection of this event," Brainiac 5 said. "So, request denied."

Earth

Kara, Mon, and Kon entered the Fortress of Solitude still in the Arctic. "What is this all about?" Kon asked impatiently.

"You'll see," Kara said as they entered a room filled with empty pods. One pod held a young woman in cryo-sleep. "Her name is Saora Ul, the daughter of Faora Ul, the sub-commander to General Zod during his insurrection. She survived on Argo but was considered an outcast by her peers for her family's treason. Since New Krypton won't give me new recruits, I'll use my own frozen ones."

Kon eyed the young woman curiously. "Why did she let you freeze her for a thousand years?" he asked.

"She volunteered," Kara said vaguely.

"Well, is she suitable for your tastes?" Mon asked crudely.

"She's beautiful," Kon said amazed.

"On Krypton, marriages were often arranged. Even on Earth, it was common until the 20th century. I'm not telling you that you have to marry this woman. I'm merely suggesting," Kara said to Kon.

"Will she like me?" Kon wondered.

"Try not to be an ass and maybe you'll win her over," Kara rolled her eyes.

"You are a prince and heir to the Galactic Federation. You are also the second-strongest Kryptonian in existence. She would be foolish to turn you down," Mon said confidently. "And if you find her not to your liking, you can marry another."

"I don't think so. Not as long as I live," Kara objected.

"There's always mistresses," Mon said.

"What? No, fuck no," Kara told him off.

Kon simply stared as his parents argued over the topic. He focused on the woman's black hair, pale complexion, and slender build. Without his parents paying attention, he deactivated the cryo-sleep. The three waited silently to see if the woman had survived the freezing process. Within a few moments, Saora Ul awoke and stared at them.

"I am Kara Zor-El. Welcome to the 31st Century," Kara said in Kryptonian.

Naltor

Brainiac 5, Nura, Sun Boy, Shadow Lass, and Karate Kid arrived on Naltor to deal with the emergency. Naltor had joined the Galactic Federation as early as 3017 when the elders realized what Kara was capable of. In return for Kara's security, Naltor sent a number of talented dreamers to assist in intelligence gathering. Brainiac 5 organized squads of dreamers to determine events in advance; knowledge he couldn't know through technological means. Nura was the greatest of them all and remained an S-class hero since she fought off the Mimics' invasion of Earth.

Up until the 21st century, the Matriarchy controlled the planet and discriminated against males. Male dreamers were silenced and discouraged from using their abilities. It got so bad that many thought males were incapable of dreaming. That all changed with Naltor's great male resistance symbol, Neil Nal. A statue of him was in the center square. The history records of Naltor declined to note that Neil later transitioned into a woman and took on the name, Nia.

Nura noticed the statue and turned to Brainiac 5. "Are you going to ever correct the record on him...her?" she asked him.

"I don't intend to. You are free to do so," Brainiac 5 punted.

The Vindicators entered a building that looked like a cylinder that had been twisted and stretched out. On the top floor, a male Naltorian suddenly freaked out as he could no longer take it anymore. Karate Kid and Shadow Lass held the teenage boy down so he would avoid hurting himself or others. Nura addressed the high seer. "Sounds like there's a crisis. What are you doing about it?" Nura asked.

"Watch your tone, brat," the high seer scolded. "I foresaw your visit a week ago."

"Bullshit. We follow the ancient American strategy of being so unpredictable that we, ourselves, don't even know what the fuck we're doing," Nura doubted.

"The cause remains unknown. We are treating the victims," the high seer said.

"With narcotics? Hook me up with that shit," Nura requested.

"It is a tragedy, but all things happen for a reason," the high seer said.

"Earth has taught me otherwise," Nura mocked.

"I advise you to be patient and wait for the cause to reveal itself," the high seer said.

"I want to try something," Brainiac 5 interrupted and then casually fired a stun gun at the struggling male teen allowing him to sleep. "The victims are neurowired to the public service so those in power can track what they see and hear," Brainiac 5 revealed.

"I knew the government couldn't be trusted," Karate Kid said obnoxiously.

"We're the government, idiot," Shadow Lass reminded him.

"The service is a safeguard to protect children from interpreting dreams on their own," the high seer admitted.

"You are to terminate the program immediately," Brainiac 5 ordered.

"A Brainiac has no authority here," the high seer sneered. "This meeting is adjourned. We insist you be given an escort. Now, go."

The Vindicators reluctantly left the room to discuss the issue further. "Why is the government doing this?" Nura wondered.

"It's irrelevant," Brainiac 5 said unconcernedly. "I'm going to hack their computers," he said and then flew off.

"So, why do you ask us, two, to come along?" Shadow Lass asked referring to herself and Karate Kid.

"For when the commandos show up," Nura said nonchalantly.

Two Naltorian commandos landed near them. They wore armored suits, helmets, and jet packs. "Who?" Shadow Lass asked.

"Naltorian lawmen," Nura said simply.

"Surrender yourselves. Your charges are yet to be determined," the commandos told them.

"What kind of due process is this?" Shadow Lass objected.

Karate Kid and Shadow Lass attacked the commandos only to get their asses kicked. "Our precog vision allows us to see your every move a second before it happens," one of the commandos said.

"You still need eyes," Shadow Lass said as she touched one of the commandos blinding him.

"Not if I know where you're going to be," the commando said as he punched her in the face and beat her down. Karate Kid was beaten by a staff and brought to the floor.

The two commandos then turned to Nura. "When you see seconds, I see thirty seconds ahead. You don't have a prayer against me. Totally focusing on me with your eyes was a big mistake," Nura lectured.

Shadow Lass got back on her feet and took out her sword. "Suzumushi Tsuishiki," she summoned. A black tent emerged from her sword eliminating the commando's sense of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and dreaming ability. "The fuck is this?" the commandos wondered.

Shadow Lass sliced both of them up with her sword destroying their armor in the process. The tent then evaporated ending the darkness. "The high seer already knows his commandos have been beaten, so he'll probably send more. The only reason he's stripped half the population of their vision is that there is something he doesn't want them to see," Nura figured.

"I need to sleep to see what he's up to," Nura said to Karate Kid.

"Got you," he said knocking her out with a punch to the head.

"How do we know it's working?" Shadow Lass wondered.

"Well...shit," Karate Kid realized he didn't know.

Earth

Kara activated a sun grenade inside the Fortress of Solitude to strengthen Saora as she awoke. "What year is it?" she asked confused.

"Three thousand twenty-four. You're on Earth. I am Kara Zor-El. Do you remember me and why you're here?" Kara asked her.

"Yes, I recall," Saora nodded.

"Let's set the record straight. Your mother worked with General Zod in an insurrection on Krypton, was exiled to the Phantom Zone, and then contributed to tens of thousands killed in Metropolis. A few years later, when she was released from the Phantom Zone again, I killed her and her associates...with a certain satisfaction, I might add. You can follow in her footsteps and be incinerated here and now or redeem your family legacy by joining my Vindicators," Kara explained to her.

"When the alternative is death, being a Vindicator will do quite nicely," Saora replied.

"I hope there are no hard feelings between us," Kara said.

"I never knew my mother and was never told she was released from the Phantom Zone," Saora said.

"My Aunt Astra and Uncle Non were also part of the insurrection. All of the great families were touched by it in some way, but the slate has been wiped clean now. This is my husband, Mon-El, of the Jin-Saiyan, and my son, Kon-El," Kara introduced.

Saora eyed them both curiously. "I have powers beyond reason here," she said as she saw through her hand.

"Since you haven't been in sunlight, your powers are weak as fuck but if you gain my trust, I will make you one of the most powerful Kryptonians in the universe," Kara offered.

"Are you a conqueror?" Saora asked.

"I like to think of myself as a liberator," Kara smirked. "I stand for truth, justice, and the American way."

"Teach me this American way," Saora requested.

Naltor

Nura's eyes shot open. "That dream was weird as fuck," she remarked. "We have to see Barney," she said urgently and flew off.

"I guess I'm stuck carrying your ass," Shadow Lass sighed as she picked up Karate Kid.

The three landed at the broadcast tower in the middle of the city. Brainiac 5 was tinkering with the controls as he hacked into the signal. "What's he doing?" Karate Kid wondered.

"Getting my hands dirty," Brainiac 5 mocked. "The problem with precognition is relying too much on fate. It reduces overall curiosity like what could stop half the population from dreaming."

"So, what is the answer?" Nura asked impatiently.

"A subsonic frequency attuned to a genocide. It can easily be removed," Brainiac 5 revealed.

"Stop!" the high seer ordered with his commandos at his side. "It is a planet union crime to tamper with the service," he said.

"You're free to send this unit to prison," Brainiac 5 said unconcernedly.

"Barney, wait, war is coming soon. It will be a time of suffering and brutality with millions of dead. I've seen it. Draftees are mobilized and sent to their deaths. You know my predictions always come true. There's one man at the center of my dream. I didn't recognize him, but I saw him clearly. Whoever he is, he will affect all sentient life in the galaxy...and the Naltorian army will be the first to die," Nura revealed.

"She is correct. We cannot inflict that knowledge on our young people. What would they do with it? They would be condemned to a hellish walking grave knowing how little time they have left," the high seer said.

"So, this is your way of protecting them?" Shadow Lass questioned.

"Yes," the high seer answered.

"An act of mercy?" Karate Kid assumed.

"Yes," the high seer agreed.

"He's right. Exposing the coming apocalypse would only doom this world to chaos and misery," Brainiac 5 withdrew from the computer.

"No, we can't do this," Nura shook her head.

"On Earth, you taught me the value of life. If we hope to preserve it here, we must remain silent," Brainiac 5 reasoned.

"Keep your own secrets. Never compromise, not even in the face of Armageddon," Karate Kid argued. "The people have to be told."

"You know I can't let you do that," Brainiac 5 said condescendingly.

"Those who want security over freedom deserve neither," Karate Kid told him.

"Stand down, that's an order," Brainiac 5 said pointing a pistol at him.

"What are you waiting for? Do it," Karate Kid challenged.

Nura and Shadow Lass looked at each other in stunned silence. Even the high seer and his commandos were speechless. "Do it!" Karate Kid shouted.

Brainiac 5 fired his pistol at him on the stun setting knocking him out. "We're leaving," he said to the others.
