In Metropolis, a building suddenly exploded sending debris down onto the streets. Fires raged through the building threatening human civilians. Triplicate Girl was the first one on the scene. She divided herself into three ten times and helped move civilians out of the building. One copy found the terrorist, a reptilian humanoid alien with a gun. Triplicate Girl and the alien engaged in a scuffle until she was thrown out of the window.

"What does this ring do?" the terrorist demanded as he placed Triplicate Girl's Vindicator ring on his finger.

"Nothing. It's just really expensive. I would surrender or you'll soon be buried along with this building," Triplicate Girl said to him.

"You talk a lot of shit for a Vindicator that can't change shape, throw lightning, or read minds," the terrorist spat at her.

"When you're right, you're right," Triplicate Girl frowned. "But I can do this," she said as took hold of him and threw him out the window. Triplicate Girl quickly formed two new copies that grabbed the terrorist before he could fall to his death.

"I surrender," the terrorist said as he hung onto her for dear life with wild flames beneath them.

Shortly thereafter, Triplicate Girl went back to just three and communicated to Cosmic Boy the situation. "Mission accomplished, bad guy apprehended, no casualties," she said impressed with herself.

"What about property damage?" he asked.

"Well...shit," she realized the building was gutted and needed to be demolished.

"Come back to headquarters," Cosmic Boy ordered.

The terrorist attack by an alien dissident spurred a Vindicator meeting at the palace but quickly got off-topic. "First off, Alex and Kelly are still not here on Earth," Kara said peeved.

"Their process of conceiving is still ongoing," Brainiac 5 said.

"They will conceive this week and will confirm via testing in two weeks," Nura said helpfully.

"Thank you, Nura. That's great news," Kara smiled.

"Go into detail on how you know this," Mon smirked.

"Well...I saw their sexual routine. It was quite fascinating," Nura said.

"What position was the one that successfully caused the conception?" Mon continued.

"I can only see what happens in the future from the outside. I can't tell you specific information on their internal anatomy," Nura admitted.

"I think talking about my sister's sexual history...or future is not really appropriate for this meeting," Kara said shutting down the discussion.

"I agree," Mara chimed in for entirely different reasons.

"What is the topic of discussion?" Imra asked impatiently.

"As you know, the human population stands at 200 million due to an asteroid apocalypse, war, disease, infertility, and so forth. Now, a planet with such a low population could easily be conquered if not for the billions of Barney's drones and the Vindicators. But we can be conquered in other ways. If we allow alien immigration to the planet, the human population could be overwhelmed. I either give humans preferential treatment in all professions and roles creating an alien underclass or humans will be forced to compete with aliens," Kara said.

"I don't see a problem with that. Humans are pathetically weak, dim-witted, and emotionally impulsive. If they wish to grow as a species, they must compete," Imra said.

"They're already competing with my drones. The problem is that I can control all my drones, not individual aliens," Brainiac 5 pointed out.

"These aliens will also be bringing foreign cultures and religions to Earth. The Christian monopoly on this planet will begin to crack," Mara brought up.

"Crime will increase and become more complicated for us to solve. Each of these aliens will possess abilities we may not be prepared for," Rokk (Comic Boy) said.

"It will be the same drama we had on Earth in the 21st century with Cadmus," Mon agreed. "We go to alien worlds; they don't come to us."

"This policy will make us look like assholes to the galaxy. You know that, right?" Imra pointed out.

"I'm sensing the galaxy has entitlement issues. No one is entitled to live on my planet," Kara said forcefully.

"We could have an alien boycott on the entire Galactic Federation on our hands," Irma said. "If you prevent Titans from residing or visiting Earth, they're going to be pissed off and reconsider our alliance."

"Aliens often bring technological advancements and ideas to the planets they reside in," Projectra pointed out.

"Whatever technology or innovation these aliens bring to Earth can easily be introduced by my drones," Brainiac 5 said dismissively.

"Perhaps you're afraid you will lose your monopoly on complete control of this planet's economy," Irma chided.

"That monopoly of control is our control," Brainiac 5 reminded her.

"Yeah, bullshit. We're all under your thumb," Irma scoffed. "The Dominators will take offense to this. It could bring war."

"There is no indication of a war in the near future...with them," Nura corrected.

"Are there any Dominators on the planet?" Kara asked Imra.

"None," she replied having the ability to sense every mind of the planet at once.

"An alien plague could wipe out our agricultural sector," Ral (Chlorophyll Kid) brought up.

"Earth and all other human colonies will be restricted from any alien immigration. I will not have a repeat of the nonsense I experienced in the 21st century. Aliens need us, not the other way around," Kara ruled. "Prepare for a potential boycott and retaliation against humans on other Galactic Federation planets. I will make the order in a few weeks' time. In the meantime, Nura will provide intelligence on any future reaction in case I have to reverse course," Kara ordered.

"My dreamers will make this a high priority," Nura said.

"Imra, I need you to prepare statements to give all the embassies that this isn't racist or xenophobic," Kara ordered.

"Fuck my life," Imra shook her head dismayed.

Mars

Brainiac 5 came to see Alex and Kelly in the morning. They looked tired and their eyes were bloodshot. "Long night?" he asked knowingly.

"We need to get out of here and find someplace in nature," Alex said to him. "It's the only way for us to sync correctly."

"I agree," Kelly nodded.

"You mean, on Earth?" Brainiac 5 asked helpfully.

"No, out there," Alex said pointing to the Martian wilderness.

"Here, you're protected from Martian telepathy. Out there, the whole planet will be aware of your...activities," Brainiac 5 informed her.

"I don't give a shit. These people don't really exist to me anyway," Alex said dismissively.

"What do you mean?" Brainiac 5 asked.

"To you, everyone in the 21st century doesn't exist because they're all dead. Well, to me, I feel the same way about everyone here," Alex said. "I can't wrap my head around all this. It's like a dream."

"Everything here is objectively real," Brainiac 5 assured her.

"It's about feelings rather than fact," Kelly said to him.

"There are repercussions for the Galactic Federation if you flaunt your sexuality," Brainiac 5 reminded them.

"So what you're saying is that I could embarrass Kara and her little empire?" Alex asked.

Brainiac 5 stared at Alex realizing what was going on. "There are several nearby locations you can choose from," he said showing her them on a tablet.

"Let's try that one," Kelly said, pointing out a location not too far away from the base.

"In a week, it will be ready for you. In the meantime, I advise you to continue as you are," Brainiac 5 stalled.

"Now, Barney," Alex ordered.

Dominator Home World

Saturn Girl visited the Dominator's home world and spoke with the Dominion. They were a reptilian warrior race controlled by a monarchy. Despite this, the emperor never spoke to foreigners. Instead, Imra came before a council. "Imra Ardeen of Titan, Saturn Girl, you are the leading ambassador for the Galactic Federation. You speak for your people," the Dominator council said to her.

"So, I'm told," Imra said dryly. "I have nothing more to say to you beyond my report."

"Your report is irrelevant. Resistance is futile. We wish to improve ourselves. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service ours," the Dominators said to her.

"This isn't the way to get a visa," Imra told them off.

"Visa is irrelevant," they said to her.

"Yeah, well, my culture is based on freedom, self-determination, and border customs," Imra told them.

"Freedom is irrelevant. Self-determination is irrelevant. Border customs are irrelevant. You will not allow this immigration bill to pass. You must comply," they ordered her.

"I'll be dead before the Supreme Leader changes her mind," Imra rolled her eyes.

"Death is irrelevant. Your archaic cultures are authority-driven. In time, you will come to serve us," the Dominators said to her.

"You know what? I've assessed the situation and I'm going to leave now," Imra said freaked out.

Earth

At the Vindicator headquarters, Element Lad and Phantom Girl hung out in the same room. There was no drama between them as Phantom Girl was already linked to Ultra Boy and Element Lad was trying his luck with Triplicate Girl. Still, this didn't stop Tinya from lying on Jan's couch in a sexually suggestive pose while reading a Batman comic book.

"It says here you're supposed to show up with vegetation," Tinya said helpfully referring to flowers.

"The sexes are equal now. I don't have to do shit," Jan corrected her.

"You should get out of your uniform and wear your civilian uniform or else all the humans will gawk at you," Tinya advised.

"Right," Jan agreed and proceeded to change in front of her into his civilian attire, which was a one-piece black suit, grey shoulders, a blue undershirt to indicate he was a science officer. "Earthlings are so conservative. Why do I even need clothes?"

"You have that in common. She asked me the same thing once," Tinya smiled.

"Really?" Jan asked hopefully.

"It's not surprising given her background. You do know about her home world, don't you?" Tinya asked.

"I'm not really interested in her background, talents, or how she thinks," Jan said nonchalantly.

"Well, okay then," Tinya said as she phased through the floor.

Jan then went to the door and found Triplicate Girl in her civilian uniform. She was dressed in a one-piece black suit, grey shoulders, and a red undershirt to indicate she was an engineering officer. "Hi, Element Lad! I am so excited for our date. Are you excited? This is going to be so much fun. A boy and girl on a date!" she said excitedly.

There was an awkward silence between them. "So...what do we do now?" Jan wondered.

"I have no idea," Lourno admitted. "We could try to have a conversation."

"I like being naked," Jan revealed.

"Okay, I'll start with my backstory," Lourno volunteered.

"Shit," Jan realized.

"I come from a world called Cragg or what's left of it. It had three sons. I don't remember how I got there or who I was. There was nothing but rubble. I could tell from the energy signatures that there must have been some kind of apocalypse. I was completely alone so I wandered around an empty ruin of a city progressively going mad. Suddenly, I was attacked by a giant wolf, and my instincts kicked in. I divided into three and scared it off. Then, I started dividing into an army and read everything on how to run a city. In time, the entire city was populated with versions of me. We all got along quite well, engaging in commerce, learning, working, and making love to each other," Lourno said.

"Wait...what?" Jan thought he misheard.

"Yes, we would have sexual orgies every night with many versions of myself at once. I practiced every homosexual female sexual practice known in existence," Lourno continued.

"Go on," Jan said becoming interested.

"But we still felt very much alone and sex with myself was starting to get boring. When I joined the Vindicators, I finally could interact with real people and make love to men," Lourno said.

"Let's go to a deserted island and explore it," Jan suggested.

"Okay!" Lourno eagerly agreed.

Mars

Alex and Kelly moved to a cottage a short distance away from the base. There, curious Green Martians gathered around invading their privacy. While the two continued their marital activities, Alex began to feel uncertain about things. Looking in the mirror, her eyes flashed red for a brief moment. Touching her face and then her arms, she saw all the wounds she had suffered from her years of service. Her skin flowed as if something underneath was crawling underneath.

"These wounds won't heal," Alex muttered to herself. "I'm confusing what is real. This lack of self-control I fear is never-ending. I can't seem to find myself again, my walls are closing in," Alex said to the mirror.

"Without a sense of confidence, I'm convinced that there's just too much pressure to take," her reflection said back to her.

"I've felt this way before. So insecure," Alex admitted.

"Fear is how you will fall, confusing what is real," her reflection told her.

"Discomfort endlessly has pulled itself upon me, distracting, reacting. Against my will, I stand beside my own reflection. It's haunting," Alex said to the mirror. "There's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface."

"You're not wrong," her reflection smirked.

Kelly then came into the bathroom breaking Alex's psychosis. "Everything good?" she asked.

"I just need to get some air," Alex said with her eyes glowing red.

Alex exited the cottage and stared at the Martian wasteland. She could now sense all the Green Martian minds nearby. A red aura glowed around Alex and then an explosion of red energy covered the distance of a small town. The cottage morphed and was restructured to look like her family home in Midvale. The Martian wilderness suddenly became the town of Midvale. A red energy dome trapped all the Green Martians inside. Alex then turned to Kelly and changed her reality to accept the changes she had made. The sky became blue with clouds, the ground became fertile and green, and trees appeared on the yards. Everything was as it was in the 21st century. The Green Martians then shape-shifted into townspeople she remembered from her childhood, completely under her control.

"I have found myself again," Alex smiled.

Earth-Pacific Ocean

Jan and Lourno visited an uninhibited underdeveloped island chain in the middle of the Pacific. "Where are we?" Lourno wondered upon arriving.

"It's an underdeveloped island that nobody comes here. It was once called Hawaii," Jan said.

"Is this the place people went to have dates?" Lourno asked uncertainly.

"No idea. I don't study human history," Jan said dismissively. "I'm all about taking this galaxy into the future," he said as he gave her a flower.

"What is this for?" Lourno asked confused.

"It's the rite of vegetation," he explained.

"It smells good. You want to have sex on the beach?" she asked hopefully.

Earth-Metropolis

At the Vindicator headquarters, Brainiac 5 analyzed the situation in the outer rim. "There's been a massive incursion here by someone. The real question is why the fuck are we out here? We're far from Galactic Federation space," Lightning Lad communicated on a view screen.

"I'm transmitting an image. Look familiar?" Brainiac 5 asked as he sent an image of a humanoid.

"No clue," Lightning Lad admitted.

"Dream Girl's prophecies are that an interstellar war is on the horizon, and he was a key figure in her visions," Brainiac 5 explained.

"I don't know, Barney. Sounds like bullshit," Lightning Lad doubted.

"Stay vigilant," Brainiac 5 ordered and then the transmission unexpectedly ended. "Lightning Lad, come in," Brainiac 5 said calmly and got nothing.

"Signal lost? No surprise for an outer-rim world," Cosmic Boy said walking up.

"There are suddenly no transmissions coming out of the sector," Brainiac 5 said concernedly.

"Well...shit," Cosmic Boy realized.

"I'll check every twenty-four hours to check on them," Brainiac 5 said nonchalantly.

"Wait, we should send reinforcements, a strike team," Cosmic Boy suggested.

"Leave Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl to their own devices," Brainiac 5 said coldly. "You should trust my judgment. I have existed for hundreds of years before you were born and was one of the Vindicator founders. I also outrank you."

"But I am questioning your judgment," Cosmic Boy challenged.

"Averting war is our first priority. The loss of Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl is a necessary loss," Brainiac 5 said simply.

"We're here to enforce change, to kick ass on evildoers; not hide behind the diplomatic protocol," Cosmic Boy argued.

"Good," Brainiac 5 said pleased.

"Wait, you were just fucking with me?" Cosmic Boy said outraged.

"Assemble your rangers for a potential rescue mission," Brainiac 5 ordered. "In the meantime, I will work to decode Dream Girl's prophecies and restore communications."

As Cosmic Boy left, Brainiac 5 noticed a strange energy signal coming from Mars and proceeded to order his drones to move toward it.

Elsewhere in Metropolis, Triplicate Girl was out with Sun Boy at a juice bar in their civilian uniforms. Dirk wore a red undershirt indicating he was in security operations. "I heard you were with Element Lad. He's not going to be mad we're hanging out like this," Dirk asked anxiously. Jan outranked him and could kick his ass by turning his fire into harmless gas and turning his blood into mercury.

"There's nothing between us. I don't have anything in common, you know," Lourno lied. "So, why did you join the league?" she asked conversationally.

The two sat down to have their drinks. "I'm fairly aligned with the Supreme Leader's vision. Some would call me a loyalist. I wasn't there for the founding, obviously, but I was recruited after I got my powers. I was part of this mission to land on the sun. It didn't go well," Dirk said.

"The few, the proud, the Vindicators," Lourno recalled.

"Yea, yea, yea," Dirk confirmed. "How about you?"

"Two years ago, I was discovered by a Hermes probe. Shortly thereafter, a Poseidon sub came by with high-ranking Vindicators. I wasn't sure what to do so I absorbed my entire population into one body and met with Saturn Girl, Lightning Lad, Cosmic Boy, and Star Boy. After I divided into three and had sex with the boys, they said I was in," Lourno said.

"How inspiring," Dirk applauded.

"Ever since then it's been thrilling being a ranger with you and the others. Witnessing all of your petty conflicts has been really amusing to me. Every face and race was brand new to me after a virtual lifetime of only being with myself. Every experience has been an adventure," Lourno said.

"That's a pretty unique answer," Dirk complimented.

"Where are you from?" Lourno asked.

"Earth," Dirk said vaguely.

"Well...no shit. Where specifically?" Lourno asked curiously.

"Let's not talk about me," Dirk said uneasily. He didn't want Lourno to know how he burned down his town and the nearby forest and vaporized the nearby lake.

Cosmic Boy gathered his remaining rangers. "Where the fuck is Ultra Boy, Sun Boy, and Triplicate Girl?" he demanded.

"They're on a date," Light Lass reported.

"Shit," Cosmic Boy realized. "Wait, who is dating whom?"

"Triplicate Girl is on a date with Ultra Boy and Sun Boy at the same time," Light Lass snitched.

"This is some bullshit," Cosmic Boy muttered. "Alright, we'll have to do without."

"Who are we kicking ass on now?" Star Boy asked enthusiastically.

"You know that building the terrorists destroyed? You're to fix it," Cosmic Boy ordered.

"Oh, come on!" Light Lass protested.

"We have to show the people we do more than kill people and blow up shit," Cosmic Boy pointed out. "This comes from the top so no bitching."

"Alright, team. It's ranger time," Star Boy said to the others.

The three of the six rangers arrived on the scene to fix the gutted skyscraper saying their catchphrase as they arrived:

Star Boy: Black power, motherfucker!

Colossal Boy: My dick is long!

Light Lass: Deep penetration!

As curious humans watched, the three proceeded to work on the skyscraper without issue.

Meanwhile, Ultra Boy and Triplicate Girl were on a joy ride using an ancient 20th-century car that ran on gasoline. "Oh, yeah!" Jo said as he sped along the streets earning gawks from humans who had never seen such a vehicle before.

"This actually runs on fossil fuel. How much is its operating cost?" Lourno asked.

"A thousand credits a foot," Jo answered.

"Wow," Lourno said amazed.

"Inflation, it is a bitch," Jo agreed. "But I'm worth it. Life is short. Take pleasure."

"What about the law?" Lourno asked.

"Fuck the law," Jo said dismissively. "Conformity is for losers."

A probe droid went after them to stop them. "Your vehicle is unsanctioned."

Jo gave the probe the middle finger and fired heat vision from his eyes destroying the probe.

"Barney says we have to be an example for others," Lourno pointed out.

"I am. This is what it's like to be me," Jo said dismissively. "I'm being an individual. Recognize."

"Wow, I can't figure you out," Lourno admitted.

"It's pretty damn simple. I like to have fun, kick-ass, and after an hour with me in bed, you'll never be with another man," Jo said boldly.

"Let's go to my place and have you show me," Lourno invited.

"Yes, Ma'am," Jo said driving to her place.

At Lourno's apartment, Jo took off his shirt and was about to undress Lourno when they were interrupted by Jan, Dirk, and two copies of Lourno. "Wait, what the fuck?" all three men said together.

"Now, things are going to get weird," Lourno said as they had a sixsome.

Afterward, Jo, Jan, and Dirk awkwardly left Lourno's apartment. "What happened in there...we don't ever speak of," Jo ordered. Light Lass and Shadow Lass noticed the three men looking traumatized.

"What's up with you three?" Shadow Lass asked.

"Bar!" they shouted, evading them and running off.

In her apartment, Lourno was amused by how the three men handled the sixsome. "Boys, I still don't understand them," the first Lourno said. "I know, right?" the second one agreed. "I had the best day," the third one declared.

"Oh, really?" the other two said skeptically.

"Well, there's only one way to know for sure," the third one said, and then all three became absorbed into one.

"Well, what did you learn from them?" Cosmic Boy asked as he emerged from the shadows.

Mars

Alex drove Kelly around Midvale and cheerfully waved at all the townspeople. Rainbow flags were featured virtually on every business and church. The church slogan of the day was "Be Gay for God!" Occasionally, they would notice couples, both straight and gay walking down the street holding hands. A firefighter team worked to get a cat out of a tree, sheriff deputies were in the doughnut shop with nothing to do, and businesses long closed like the Talon movie theater were now open. Instead of Michael Bay films, the theater was featuring artsy lesbian films.

"I never realized how tolerant, inclusive, and fun Midvale could be," Kelly remarked.

"Everything is how it should be," Alex said, her hair and eyes now permanently red.

The two drove to Alex's parents' house and found Jeremiah and Eliza greeting them with smiles. Eliza gave Alex a hug while Jeremiah shook Kelly's hand. "I heard you two are trying to have children. That's so exciting," Eliza gushed.

"I completely approve of this," Jeremiah nodded with a smile.

"Thanks, Dad. That means so much to me," Alex said happily.

"Let's go inside and talk all about it," Eliza invited them inside.
