It's only been a week since Haley been home from the tour, and of course it's been only a week since everything went back to normal. Haley was able to take Jamie to school and Lydia to daycare for the day, while Nathan was at Basketball practice. Of course Nathan once suggested that Haley leaves Lydia with Renee, and of course Haley laughed in his face as she flat out told him that she refuses to leave their daughter alone with his Mistress.
It has also been a week since the last time Haley talked to Nathan. The last time they talked to each other was the day Haley came home and picked up the kids from Nathan's. They haven't talked since. Haley is not avoiding Nathan; it's just that they've both been busy. Haley has been busy working at the Cafe since Karen rehired her right away and of course she's been spending time with Jamie and Lydia, as well as Chris. Nathan has been busy with his basketball practices mainly because he has a game coming up. There's also Renee and their son that he has with Renee.
It seems like since Renee gave birth to their son, Nathan has become their primary caretaker, and Haley is growing tired of it. Even though they're divorced, Nathan shouldn't put Jamie and Lydia on the back burner.
Just two days ago, Jamie wanted to shoot hoops at the river court, and Nathan agreed to meet him. But of course, once again, Renee wasn't home, and Nathan had no one else to watch Nathan Jr. So Jamie ended up playing with Lucas and Skills, along with Junk and Fergie.
The beeping sound of the coffee machine took Haley out of her thoughts. Haley sighs softly as she poured herself some coffee when she heard footsteps coming into the kitchen. She looked over her shoulder as she saw Chris.
"Well, good morning." Haley said as she grabbed another mug and poured him a cup."I didn't think you were going to get up. Since you did get home kinda late last night."She said with a light chuckle as she handed the cup of hot coffee towards him.
"Thanks." Chris said as he leaned forward and kissed her lips gently. After taking the cup out of Haley's hand, he took a sip. "Yeah, sorry about that. The recording session took longer than I expected." He walked over to the kitchen table and sat down, taking another drink of his coffee.
"I kinda figured it did." Haley said as she sat across from him and took a drink of her own coffee before setting the cup down on the table. Since they've been home, Chris has been working almost every night in the studio at Red Bedroom Records, recording his new album.
"Are you still coming out to Tric tonight to watch my performance?" Chris asked as he smirked slightly.
Haley nodded her head. "Of course I am. Nathan has the kids tonight." Haley answered as she took another sip of her now-warmed coffee. Nathan texted Haley last night to ask what time she would be dropping the kids off for tonight.
"I think you should wear that red dress tonight." Chris suggested with another smirk as he wiggled his eyebrow.
"Seriously? That dress is kinda short though." Haley said, wriggling her nose and getting up with her now empty coffee mug, walking over to the sink and placing the mug down before turning the coffee machine off.
Getting up from the table, Chris walked behind Haley as he stepped closer and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Come on, it's my favorite dress. Not to mention, you do look very sexy wearing it." Chris whispered against her as he gently nibbled and sucked lightly against her earlobe.
Haley giggled softly as she exhaled deeply and nodded her head."Okay, I will wear the red dress for you." She said as she kissed him softly before walking out of his arms.
"Where are you going?" Chris asked, hoping to finish what he started.
"I gotta go see if the kids are awake yet and see what Jamie wants for breakfast." Haley said as she walked out of the kitchen and headed upstairs to wake Jamie and Lydia up.
Chris sighs as he shakes his head slightly. Ever since they've been home, Chris can't help but get the feeling that Haley is starting to pull away from him. For the past week, she seems to be very distant and they barely spend any time together. Chris isn't sure what's going on. But he knows that he needs to talk to Haley about it.
All morning Nathan has been shooting around with the guys on the river court. He doesn't really need the practice since he's been practicing for awhile now. Today Nathan just needed to get out of the house and hang out with his friends and clear his head, not to mention he just had to get away from Renee.
Renee still can't get over the fact Haley is back in town and Nathan had already grew tired of the conversation already. He's been sleeping in the guest room to just avoid her. He's even been practicing even longer than usual, just so he could walk through the front door while she's sleeping.
" Hey Nate, Do you think Haley is actually gonna stick around now that she's back? Or is she going back on tour anytime soon?" Junk asked as he shoot the ball threw the hoop just before Fergie caught it and made a basket himself.
Nathan shrugs his shoulders." I have no clue, I haven't really had the chance to talk to Haley since she's been home."
" Are you ever gonna talk to her?" Skills asked as he caught the ball and made another basket before he passed it towards Lucas.
" I don't know, she's bringing the kids over later tonight."Nathan answered as he shrugs his shoulders.
" See tonight is the perfect night for you and Haley to finally sit down, and have a nice long conversation. You know over dinner and a few glasses of wine." Skills suggested as he smirks slightly.
Nathan snorts a laugh as he shook his head." You do know that I have a girlfriend now, and her name is Renee."
" So what?" Skills asked as he shrugs his shoulders as he couldn't understand why Nathan is being so stubborn about this.
" So, I don't think it will be a good idea if Haley and I have a conversation, over dinner and a few glasses of wine, especially with Renee in the house."
" Whatever man, all I am saying is tonight will be a good night to have a conversation. To you know, to see what's going between you two and to see if she actually came home for you."
Nathan snorts once more as he shook his head." Trust me Skills. Haley didn't come home for me. She came home for the kids. Besides even if she did it wouldn't change anything between us. We're divorced and in different relationships. There's no going back."
" If that's what you want to believe Nat. But we all know you two belong together and Renee and Chris are both rebounds." Skills said getting his point across. He's been friends with Haley and Nathan since high school. He was their wedding, so he knows that those two are meant for each other.
