It's been a few days since Haley went to Deb's barbecue. It has also been a few days since Haley made out with Nathan on her couch, and she's been avoiding him since. She has also been avoiding his calls and text messages. Haley knows avoiding Nathan like this really isn't the best way to handle this situation, and she knows sooner or later they are going to have to talk about that kiss. But right now Haley can't talk to Nathan, let alone see him. She shouldn't have let that kiss happen in the first place. She shouldn't have kissed him back, but she did, and now she's not sure what to do about it. There were times when Haley did hope that she and Nathan would get back together and all four of them could be a family again. But that was a long time ago, and Haley can't go backwards. She's going to have to face reality and move forward with her kids and Chris hopefully.

Haley and Chris have been together for two years now and it's been the best two years of her life. They started dating six months after her divorce from Nathan was finalized. Of course Chris tried to ask her out few times before that, but she wasn't ready yet and he understood. He was very patient with Haley. During the first few months after the divorce Haley was in a very dark place and Chris helped her get out of it. He was very supportive and even now he still is. Haley loves Chris and she's hoping for a future with him.

Haley and Chris haven't really talked about marriage since it never really came up. But lately, Haley has been thinking about it and she would love to talk about it with Chris soon, just to see how he honestly feels about the whole thing.

Haley looked up as soon as she heard Jamie running down stairs." Hey Jimmy-Jam. Are you excited to go to your dad's basketball game tonight?" She asked him with a smile.

Jamie nodded his head. "Of course, I am excited. Are you taking me?" He asked with a huge grin on his face.

Haley shook her head as she ran her hand down the back of his head." Not tonight buddy, but Uncle Lucas is gonna take you though." She said as she smiles softly. Haley would love to go to Nathan's game tonight. But she's just not ready to face him right now.

" How come? Are you and Dad fighting?" Jamie asked.

Why do you think we are fighting?"

"Because Dad hasn't been around for the past few days."

" Oh, you've noticed huh?" Haley asked with a chuckle. She then sighs softly." Your dad and I are not fighting. We've been busy and the reason why he hasn't been around for the past few days is because he's been getting ready for his game tonight." She said as she gave him an reassuring smile.

Jamie nods his head. He was about to ask her another question when there was a knock at the front door. "That must be Uncle Lucas." Jamie said as he ran towards the door to let his Uncle in.

"Uncle Lucas," Jamie said as soon as he opened the door.

"Hey buddy, are you ready to go watch your Dad play?" Lucas asked as he walked into the house and closed the door behind him.

Jamie nods his head when Haley came back downstairs with Lydia in her arms." Hey Luke, thanks for taking them to Nathan's game tonight." She said as she handed Lydia over to Lucas after she gave her a kiss goodbye.

"It's no problem, Hales. I'm happy to take them. But are you sure that you don't want to come?" Lucas asked as he thought he would try again.

Haley nods her head little." Yeah, I am sure." She said as she looks down at Jamie." Have fun buddy and watch over your sister." She also said as she hugs Jamie.

After Lucas left with Jamie and Lydia. Haley started to look around the livingroom as she was trying to decide on what she wanted to. She then her cell ringing from her back pocket. Pulling her cell out, Haley noticed Chris was calling her.

"Hey honey," Haley greeted him with a smile as she walked over to the couch and sat down.

"Hey babe. I just wanted to call and let you know that I'm on my way home and that I've also picked up dinner for us." Chris said as he was already on the road driving home. "I should be home in five minutes."

" That's great because I'm starving." Haley said as she chuckled softly.

"I had a feeling that you would be. I will be home soon." Chris said as he hung up. As Chris was turning onto his street, he noticed that he had a call coming in. He sighed exasperatedly as he recognized the number. He sighed heavily before finally answering.

"What the hell do you want?"

"We need to talk. Can you meet me somewhere?"

Pulling up into the driveway Chris turn off the engine as he shook his head." Not tonight, I just got home and Haley is waiting for me inside." He said as he pulled his car keys out of the ignition." What is this about?"

" You know exactly what this is about. Meet me by the docks in an hour." Renee answered as she hung up before Chris had a chance to say something.

Chris exhales deeply as he grabbed tonight's dinner before getting out of his car. After he closed and locked up his car. Chris blew out a breath before he walked into the house. " Haley, I'm home." He said as he closed the door behind him as he walked into the kitchen.

Haley had finished setting the table for two when she saw Chris walking into the kitchen with take-out food. "Hey," she said as she walked up to him, kissed him quickly, and then took the food out of his hands before walking back towards the kitchen table.

"Where are the kids?" Chris asked as he noticed how quiet it was.

" Oh, Lucas came over to pick them up. He took them to Nathan's basketball game tonight." Haley answered as she served them dinner before she sat down. She then noticed a strange look on Chris's face." You okay?" She asked with concern.

Chris quickly nods his head as he grins at her." Yeah, I'm fine babe." He said as leans over and kisses her cheek gently." Let's eat before our dinner gets cold." He said again as he sat down across from Haley and started to eat his dinner.

As Haley took a sip of her wine, she watched Chris for a moment. She can't help but wonder what's going on in his mind right now. But she decided it would be best to wait after dinner to ask him. For now, Haley just wants to spend a nice dinner with him.

After Nathan's game. Lucas went over to Nathan's house to visit him, but to also to get Nathan to tell him what's going on with Haley. Earlier tonight Lucas was gonna ask her what's going on with her. But he had to get Jamie and Lydia to the game. So maybe if Lucas talks to Nathan about his concern. Maybe Nathan would tell him what's going on with his best friend.

Lucas tries not to take too much pride in Haley's business or at least not like he used to when they were in high school. But Lucas can't help but be concerned about Haley and he knows Nathan knows something. Lucas looked up as he noticed Nathan walked into the living room with two bottles of beer.

"Thanks, man." Lucas said as he reached over and grabbed one of the beer bottles from Nathan's hand.

Nathan nods his head as he sat down in his chair and took the first sip of his beer. "Thanks for bringing Jamie and Lydia to the game tonight. I was kinda hoping Haley would've come to the game though. I wanted to talk to her after the game tonight." Nathan has been trying to reach out to Haley the past few days now, but she's been avoiding him like a plaque.

"I tried to get her to come tonight. But she refused to go." Lucas said as he took a drink of his beer and shrugged his shoulders slightly.

"Did she say why?"

Once again, Lucas shrugged his shoulders. "Not really. Has something between you two that I should know about?" Lucas asked as he looked at Nathan for a moment.

Nathan exhales deeply as he nods his head. "Yeah, something happened." Nathan answered as he looks down for a moment.

"Do you want to elaborate on that?"

Nathan blew out a breath as he set his beer down and ran his hands down his face." Haley and I kissed."Nathan answered as he shrugs his shoulders little.

"What? When did that happen?" Lucas asked, shocked to hear that both his brother and best friend had kissed, especially since they have been divorced for almost three years now. He was even more shocked that Haley would allow it to happen.

" After Haley left the barbecue, right after Renee once again gave Haley Grief about our fail marriage. I went over to Haley's to check on her. I was telling her how I was an idiot for leaving her for Renee and that I was still in love with her. Next thing I know. We were making out on her couch." Nathan said as he couldn't help smile little as he still can't get what happened between them out of his head. He could still feel her lips against his.

"Wow... so what does this even mean? Where do you and Haley go from here?"

Nathan shrugs his shoulders." That's the thing, I have no. idea. Since she's not talking to me." Nathan wants to talk to Haley about that kiss and to see what it all means for them. But how can he if Haley is refusing to even talk to him.

Few hours after Chris waited for Haley to fall asleep. He snuck out of the house and drove towards the docs. Walking towards where Renee was, Chris exhales deeply as he kept walking towards her. He knows he should turn back around and go back to Haley. But since he's here. He might as well get this over with and see what Renee wants.

"What's so important to talk about?" Chris asked as he approached her.

" Why didn't you keep Haley on that tour?"...
