Splatoon: The Brothers and the Others

Another Recap Chapter - As Requested by RealCoolDude

AN: How long has it been since you've last read this story? The answer, excluding the last chapter, is a very long time, which is good, because any exposure to my writing is bad, mind you, but in case you're one of the crazies who still follow my work, then I suppose I should recap a few things before we get back into the swing of things.

Alright, here we go. Chapter 1:

Tai goes and replaces me for a day-

What? Oh, the Chi arc? Well, that's kinda lame. I guess we could do that. Alright, starting from the beginning.

Just not the beginning.

Ch. 88:

Chi is recovering after being saved by Mai. They sit in the same medical bay room and stare at the wall for fun.

But that doesn't matter, Ari's sad that I forgot that Sari's a character in this story. So sad, in fact, that he decides to go down to Inkopolis Square to do Splatoon 2 battles. He sucks at them, so he decides to go back to Octo Valley to see if he can romance the pain away. Unluckily for him, I also forgot about his relationship with Tai, and he gets stuck in garbage.

Shockwhisk is an angsty teenager now and doesn't want to power the base! As a result, Octavio wants to expand the range of Octarian operation and find Zapfish again. Aussie and Tai cause shenanigans, then suddenly Yurin shows up, claiming to be Aussie's replacement since she never told people she wasn't dead for the past few weeks.

Tai and Aussie have a small falling out. Chi wakes up, and after a short conversation, realizes that Mai is somehow over a hundred years old. Before this can be explained, Tai comes in and starts complaining to Chi. Chi fills Tai in with the fact that she had to find Tai's mother on the mountains and almost died and is now irritated at Tai for being so passive about everything. So now Tai has to deal with both of her friends being all mad, but whatever, right?

Well, it's "whatever" until Tai is now promoted to commander.

Ch. 89

It's revealed that in order to expand and get more Zapfish, Octavio had already enlisted Callie of the Squid Sisters into their ranks using a mind-altering pair of shades. Tai's confused, but more because she has to do Aussie's job. It's revealed that due to their blunder, Aussie feels like she's failed as a commander and leaves Tai to do her job.

Meanwhile, Ari finally gets through the trash. He argues with a voice in his head like an absolute loon.

Chi finds out that Tai is promoted, to both their horrors and decides that instead of recovering from physical injuries, it's better to help sort out Tai's love life with Aussie instead.

Tai has to escort Callie to Octo Canyon. She doesn't want to. While making the journey, firstly by exiting the HQ, they run into Ari. A lot of things are said between them, and ultimately Tai blows him off in order to find Aussie, her true waifu. Callie's there too I guess.

Chi learns about the premise of Splatoon 2 from an Octotrooper and decides that she really needs to do something about this.

Ch. 90

Ari refuses to go down more trash holes, Tai is pissed about that. She runs into Aussie and tries to talk to her, but is blown off by a bored Aussie who is playing video games and ignoring her responsibilities. Aussie is being relocated to Octo Canyon as a result of her self-demotion. Tai, exhausted, leaves to sleep on top of Ari, which he's too flustered to admit would be great for him because young love is complicated.

Chi and Jerry try to figure more stuff out but get intercepted by Yurin. Whoops.

And that's basically what happened. Next time we'll explore what happens next in this story arc in a story not meant to have arcs!
