Karen Travis always knew she was straight yet hear she was beginning to fall for a fellow Prisoner and the craziest woman in the prison Franky Doyal too
Karen had a comfortable upbringing compared to Franky who was one of the bad girls your parents would warn you to stay away from she was crazy and wild and could smash up her cell or the Rec room or any room in seconds as well as piss off the other women especially big Bea Smith the Top dog and she was one lady you did not want to mess with and fearless Franky did that a lot
Franky had one hell of a temper and would cuss and scream and her voice would echo all round the prison all the way from solitary and she was in their a lot for one thing or another and usually followed shouts off 'Aww Give it a rest Franky ' or 'Shut it Franky from the other prisoners and staff yelling 'All right be quiet in their and also Franky could be really funny and she gave the prisoner officer Vera Bennet the nickname Vinegar tits and it stuck but Franky had a dream and a huge problem
Her dream was when she got out she was going to keep her nose clean and go straight and her and her brother were going to get a farm and spend rest of their lives on the farm but it was discovered that Franky could not read or write give Franky a book and shed most likely throw it at your head but thats where Karen Travis came in
Karen used to be a school teacher and as Karen used to date the prison Dr a long time ago the pair had a kind of friendship maybe she still had feelings for him too but she agreed to be Franky's teacher and teach her to read write and count so she knew what to do but for just now Karen was teaching Franky year 1 stuff that a little kid would learn and Franky did complain at first she agreed in the end and she was starting to do good
'Okay Franky we both now know the alphabet and that now today i thought we could do some work in these workbooks i got brought in is that okay …? Asked Karen smiling
'Yeah suppose so 'Said `franky with a shrug
'Good now we read the little story and awnser the questions 'Karen said opening up the work book and handing Franky a pencil
"I also have a ruler and if the pencils need sharpened well we need to speak to Meg as were not allowed a sharpener and sorry i don't have an eraser as * pauline Semple * ate it 'Karen said sighing and rolling her eyes whist Franky laughed
'Yeah bet it tasted better than the crap they feed us in here 'Franky said laughing
'Hmm i don't know i wouldn't recommend eating an eraser but anyway lets begin okay 'Said karen pointing at the sentence so Franky could read it
'Right okay lets read this and remember if you get stuck try break down the word that makes it easier 'Said karen as Franky nodded

'Yes i know that but he's only little a young kid and we cant have little kids wandering off on their own 'Said Karen

'Peter D…D De 'Franky said struggling again before looking at karen for help
'Okay the word is decides lets break it down again 'Said Karen as she broke down the word making it easier for Franky to read
'Peter decides to go and ask his mum to take him to the park 'So he goes i to the house and sees her cl …cl' Franky says struggling to say cleaning so once again Karen helps her and eventually she gets it and with help she reads the entire page and like a little kid in first grade shes happy and proud

'Yes well done told you id help and i'll keep helping it wont be easy and their might be homework 'Karen said with a laugh as Franky made a face but if she wanted to read and write she knew she had to do it
'Okay tomorrow we will brush up on our maths we can use the counting blocks again and no building towers with them their not lego 'Karen said with a laugh
'It be nice if they could get lego in here 'Said another prisoner who was standing by the bookcase
'Doubt it 'Karen sighed and it maybe keep some of the women out of mischief thats for sure 'Karen said
'but really you dod great today Franky well done so proud of you 'Karen said then paused as Franky slowly got up and moved closer to Karen gently stroking Karens cheek and whispered
'Thank you Karen and your beautiful
'Karen smiled and nervously chewed her lip a bit
her Mimd screamed 'No this is so wrong slap her get away from her and in Karens mind thats what she did she imagined herself slapping Franky hard and screaming abuse at her but really she smiled at franky and whispered
'Your not that bad looking yourself before moving in to kiss her and for a few moments the world stopped and nothing ese excised just her and her beloved Franky but they only stopped when Bea came in with Lizzie Birdsworth Doreen Anderson Lynn Warner 3 other inmates and laughing
'wow well well what do we have here girls Karen and Franky ' and another voice that sounded like big Monica Ferguson saying
'Oh get a room you two ' So hand in hand Karen and Franky left the room to find somewhere more privet
