Hello, friends. This is my first One Piece fanfic on here (I have other stories I need to write for 😅), but I wrote this on my DS and wanted to post it here...especially since I've been wanting to post a OP fic.
I've recently started watching OP with my second eldest brother and we love it so far! We're only on episode 30-40 something and sadly had to stop watching it for a time, so in the meantime I am reading fluffy ASL fanfics and having discussions about the show (no spoilers don't worry!) with a friend online about the show.
Anyway, I hope everyone or just someone is able to enjoy this simple, fluffy little story? Enjoy! 💛
Today was a special day for Ace, Sabo and Luffy. Makino was visiting their humble mountain today and brought gifts with her-mainly new clothing-which made Luffy a bit sad at not seeing any of her usual treats with her.
But the promise of apple pie if they went out to pick them themselves has Luffy rushing out the door with his two brothers yelling after him to slow it down.
Which brings us to now. Now being Ace and Sabo filling their sacks with delicious apples while Luffy tries grabbing at his newfound bird friend that landed on the branch above him.
It's at panicked squawks from the bird that Sabo sighs and turns to Luffy. "Let the bird go, Luffy. You are scaring it by grabbing it like that."
Luffy pouts and turns his big eyes onto Sabo innocently, "But Mr. Bird is my new friend. He was all alone and needs somebody." The blonde can't help the fond smile beginning to stretch his face, he is always amazed at Luffy's innocent approach to things and the younger's kindness to animals and humans alike.
Instead of scolding Luffy anymore, Sabo just nods his head in understanding. "That's very kind of you. But do you remember how you want to be a pirate?"
Sabo waits for Luffy's nod, "Well, you desire freedom by being a pirate, to spread your wings. How do you think your birdy friend feels at having his own actual wings held down? Even though you mean well by doing so, you wouldn't want anyone holding you back even if they meant well, right?"
Sabo is glad to see understanding flash across his baby brother's face, sometimes it is a hit or miss situation with Luffy.
The younger boy frowns and begins to loosen his hold on the bird, "But being alone is the worst, Sabo-nii."
Sabo hums softly and nods again, "I understand that. But you know as well as I do that there are lots of other birds in this forest. And who knows? Your friend could have been on his way to his own group of friends or at least finding some before you grabbed him. Your bird friend will be just fine on his own, he'll find friends in his own time, just how you'll find your own crew in due time when you come of age."
It's with the older boy's final explanation that Luffy lets go of the bird and apologizes to it as it flies away.
The soft atmosphere is suddenly ruined by an apple hitting Luffy upside his head, "Ouch! Ace, why'd you do that!?"
Ace glares down at his two younger brothers from his spot on his branch, "Enough about stupid birds! We're supposed to be focusing on picking apples, not which birds we want as our friends."
Sensing a fight brewing, Sabo claps his hands together loudly and reaches over to help place an apple in Luffy's sack, "You haven't collected much apples. Me and Ace are winning this game so far."
Black eyes widen while Luffy huffs and clutches onto his sack tightly, oblivious to Sabo's teasing look. "I didn't know it was a game! I'm gonna win!"
The blonde laughs at his brother's enthusiasm while Ace huffs but fondly watches as Luffy tugs on a large apple.

It's been six...maybe ten hours of apple picking. The boys-meaning Ace and Sabo-weren't expecting it to take that long, but with a hyperactive seven year old they can only get so far.
Another issue was how Luffy kept getting distracted, falling from the tree and eating every apple he picked. Now they are heading back to Dadan's, Ace and Sabo's sacks filled to the brim with juicy apples and Luffy who's sack was semi-full with large apples.
The younger losing his hard work by dragging the bag behind himself lazily, lagging behind and crying for reasons only God knows.
Ace and Sabo tried asking Luffy for what reasons he was crying and each time the answer changed: a new animal friend bit him, another new friend ran away, he didn't win the apple picking competition, he's hungry and whatever else he said...they lost track.
Ace just assumed the kid was actually tired enough to throw a tantrum, so he left Luffy alone to cry while Sabo is now walking semi-backwards trying to console Luffy and get him to walk faster.
"Come on, Luffy. Keep up with us, yeah? We don't want you falling behind and getting lost."
Luffy rubs at his eyes and sniffles, not paying attention to the second to last apple rolling out of his sack. "B-But I lost! Nobody told me we were s'pose to have a competition! I wasn't prepared."
Sabo smiles apologetically at the pouting boy, "That was my bad. I should have told you first...but if you look at it this way, you technically won since Ace and I cheated...technically."
Ace scoffs and swings his sack back and forth, "I picked my apples fair and square, as did you. It's not our fault Luffy got distracted...and how he usually loses anyway."
Slim hands swat at Ace's back when Luffy cries louder and drags his feet more, the freckled boy's eye twitching at the sound of the smaller boy's cries growing louder and turns to face the youngest while walking backwards.
"Stop with the crying, you know I hate that. And quit dragging your feet before you tri-" Ace lets out a shout while Sabo gasps and stops walking to bend down and grab at Luffy who tripped over his flip-flops, smashing his face onto the ground.
Sabo kneels next to Luffy and gently grabs onto the boy's small shoulder to sit him up, Ace also kneeling and grabbing onto Luffy's other shoulder.
The eldest sighs at seeing Luffy holding back his tears just because he told him to, "I told you not to drag your feet."
Luffy sniffles, "U-Uh-huh."
Ace holds out his sack of apples to Sabo, ignoring the questioning look. "Carry my sack for me-" Sabo grabs the heavy sack and smiles at seeing the reason for holding Ace's apples is so he can coax Luffy onto his back-"C'mon already you clumsy ass. Don't make me wait too long...and don't trip trying to climb on."
The offer of a piggyback ride makes it as if the past few minutes or hours of Luffy's crying were nothing. The tears seemingly drying immediately and the frowning, pouting lips being replaced with a happy smile.
Small limbs wrap tightly around Ace's neck and waist, a wide smile suddenly appearing in Ace's line of sight as Luffy smooshes his chubby cheek onto Ace's face. "Thank you, Ace! Your the best big brother ever!"
Tan skin darkens with a blush while the elder adjusts Luffy properly on his back, scoffing but gently bumping Luffy's head with his as they head back to Dadan's.

"Are you sure they are alright? It's been a couple hours since they've left."
Dadan waves Makino's fretting off with the wave of her hand, " Trust me when I say that those three little gremlins are fine. Plus, if they were hurt or dead I'd kill 'em myself."
Makino's thin form shakes from giggles at the older woman's comment while nodding, her shoulders slumping in relief at the gruff but sincere words. The greenette looks out the window once more and perks up at seeing three small forms trudging up the hill.
Leaning her body out the window, Makino waves the boys down while smiling at the sight of them. "You guys are back! How did the picking go?"
Luffy squirms down Ace's back and makes grabby hands for his sack while Makino steps outside, "Gimme my apples...please, Sabo! I want to show Kino-chan what I got!"
Sabo bites his lip to keep from smiling at the sheer adorableness of his baby brother, and also from imagining the reaction Luffy will have towards his sack.
With a nod Sabo swings the three sacks from his shoulders and gently lowers them to the ground, picking Luffy's up and handing it to him, hiding his smile when the younger frowns deeply while peering into his sack confused.
"Where'd they go? Hello little apples, where'd you run off to!?"
Ace stretches his back and chuckles, "Besides eating them all at first, you fed the animals with them. Remember dropping them behind you?"
Luffy blinks in confusion and shakes his head before pouting and turning to Makino, lifting his sack up in offering. "Apparently I fed myself and the animal friends. I didn't pick much cause Ace and Sabo cheated."
Makino ignores the loud complaints from Ace to kindly smile at Luffy and pat his head, "This is wonderful! Your apple looks very delicious! I think it will be the juiciest apple used in the pie. And it was very kind of you to leave those animal friends of yours a snack, such a good boy."
Luffy beams up at the older woman while Ace and Sabo pick up their sacks to show Makino their efforts, the woman smiling just as kindly at the older two and patting their heads as well. "You two did an amazing job! I'm so glad Luffy has two amazing big brothers to look up to-" Makino turns to Luffy with a smile-" Your big brothers are really cool, Luffy."
The boy nods vigorously and hugs the older boys tightly, "They are! And they are all mine!"
The oldest two blush but gently wrap their arms around Luffy for his kind words, dropping their sacks to give all their affection to Luffy.
Makino smiles fondly and picks up the fallen sacks to take them inside. The woman happy knowing that none of those boys are alone anymore.
I've fed myself way too many kid ASL fanfics, fan art and even fan videos ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜. I haven't even been able to see them together yet or see Ace and Sabo's real personalities and I'm already attached to the babies!
If anyone knows any fluffy, cute, non-shipping ASL fanfics...please give me some to read!
Once again I hope all and any were able to enjoy? You all possible reading, kudos giving it comments are much appreciated and even if you are a silent reader you still are much appreciated. Thank you!
I hope everyone is staying safe, happy, healthy and of course lovely as always. 💛
