"Get the fuck off me." Is the scream that Alice wakes up to. The anger and panic from K-Mart instantly pulls Alice back into the world. The innate instinct to protect the eighteen year old takes over her body. Pain emits from all over and her ears are ringing but she still manages to react when a strange man holding her down bringing a needle towards her body has her twisting his arm jumping up pulling a gun to his head using him as a shield as the rest of the world settles in.
Fighting back the dark spots in her vision Alice counts four other people pointing guns at her screaming at her to put her gun down. She easily shifts her body using the man to protect herself in case they decide to shoot. Her eyes narrow at the man who is grappling with K-Mart his gun pointed at her. "Let her go." Alice's voice comes out menacingly towards the man who dares threaten her eldest daughter.
A large part of her just wants to shoot him for touching her. For threatening her. For hurting her. But she fights against the most animistic part of her that wants to tear him to shreds and then everyone else who poses a threat to K-Mart. If there weren't so few humans left, she might have just done it to make sure K was safe. But she fights against her need to defend. For now.
Deciding to try and talk her way out of this situation instead of killing more people Alice shakes her head slightly trying to bring her senses back to full. She needs to be alert. Not dealing with haze. If she can do that then she may be able to disarm everyone. Or at the least be ready to stop any bullets from killing her or K.
A standstill comes into place. With everyone pointing guns at each other but no one can shoot without risking taking out their friend.
The man holding K scoffs at her. "Let Him go or I'll kill her." He tightens his grip on K who groans trying to wiggle her way free of him. Even when being threatened K-Mart doesn't look worried or scared. She fights against the man but keeps eye contact with Alice have full trust in her to keep her safe just like she always has.
"Let her go or I'll kill all of you." Alice threatens back.
K-Mart laughs at this. "I'll do as she says she's taken out far more people and trained soldiers than you have gathered here." The group shares an uneasy look with each other at this. But don't lower their weapons. Even when the man in Alice's arms asks them to do as they say. "There are six of you and two of us. And even then, this is an easy win for us. She's worthy thirty of you." K brags relaxing into the man's arms and looking trustfully towards Alice. And she feels the love and pride in K-Mart's words. Something she has come to cherish having from her eldest. Even with the world turning to hell around them not once has K-Mart ever doubted that Alice would protect her. That she was completely safe from all other threats as long as Mum was around.
Alice registers the sound of movement behind her. She quickly tries to shift her body making sure to keep the man in her arms between her and everyone else. "You miscounted." A familiar voice has both her K-Mart freezing in place as relief washes over them. "It's eight against two."
It's the same voice that has been playing through her head every day since they were separated once again and hopefully for the final time. The same voice that used to soothe after waking up from her nightmares. The one that would remind her that she wasn't a freak or a monster. The voice that has become so engraved in her soul she could pick her out in a crowded room with everyone screaming whole she just whispers.
K's face is taken over by a huge smile as she slams her elbow into her captor's nose earning many swear words in response. K then spins around toward the newcomers to this little gathering. "Mom." K-Mart waves towards Clarie and Chris ignoring the way the man whose nose she just broke picks himself back off of the floor taking aim at K's back.
Alice doesn't waste any more time and focuses her powers on the people around her. One second five guns are pointed at her and K the next all the guns go flying out of their grasp and Alice throws the man she was holding at gun point to the floor turning to meet Claire's shocked gaze. It's been nearly nine months since Acadia had been attacked by Umbrella resulting in everyone on board being captured.
Alice, K-Mart, and a few others were taken to the facility in Russia while the rest were taken to New York. After escaping from that facility with K-Mart, Becky, Crystal, Angel, Leon, Ada, and Jill they meet up with a clone of Wesker who had turned on Umbrella and started the war against the undead and Umbrella.
With her powers back and stronger than ever Alice led a team to attack the New York facility looking for the rest of the Claire's convey and the Redfield's themselves. Only when they searched the facility neither Claire nor Chris was there. It took some digging, but they found out that the Helicopter that was escorting the siblings crashed in between L.A and Raccoon City.
Once she had made sure everyone was somewhere safe, she set out on trying to find the last two members of their family. Then the Red Queen reached out to her, and the plans changed. Yet here they are. Jill would have rolled her eyes at this questioning how is it that anywhere Alice goes she seems to run into friends.
Both Claire and Chris lower their guns at the sight of the two women in front of them. "Alice. K-Mart" Claire whispers eyes jumping from the young blonde to the brunette in pure disbelief.
The four of them all ignored the confused and panicked calls from the other people who had their weapons ripped away from them. Alice does notice that they all take a few steps back away from her and K which causes her to smirk. K did warn them they didn't stand a chance. She was tempted to throw the man who grabbed K into a wall but didn't have the mental strength to do that.
Even now her head is burning as if someone had injected pure fire into her brain. It rages around her bashing against her skull as if trying to break free. It normally doesn't hurt this much. normally it's like a little shock to her brain that slowly builds in heat the longer she uses it. That crash must have really fucked up her head if a simple disarming feels like this. Pressure mounts in her head pushing down her super senses until it's almost like someone is holding her head underwater. Alice waits for the feeling to pass it always passes in the end.
Alice takes a second to just look over Claire. embracing the sight in front of searing it into her head. Claire who even covered in dirt looks as beautiful as always. Her girlfriend looks in wonder towards the two of them while Chris looks uneasily between his sister and Alice. Not that Alice notices that. Her gaze was focused solely on the redhead as it felt like all the cracks in her heart and pulled back together. A small breath lifts so much weight off of her shoulders as all her worries and fears evaporate knowing that Claire and Chris are safe.
Alice can't help but to match K-Mart's grin. Finally, after all this time her whole family is reunited. Everyone is safe and accounted for. Alice turns to K-Mart who is still practically bouncing on the spot in excitement. "Told you We'd find her."
Neither of them had any doubt that they would find Claire again. The amount of times the three of them have found each other over the years makes their reunion seem inevitable. Claire found K-Mart in a run down shop in the middle of nowhere. Alice found them in the middle of the desert. And then found Claire again in the vast tundra of Alaska. And together the two of them found Chris in a prison K-Mart on a ship in the middle of the sea in L.A. Alice found K-Mart in one of the cells in Russia and now they have found Claire again back where this all began.
That almost overwhelming feeling of love and happiness only lasts for a mere three seconds before the man who Alice was holding at gun point drags himself back to his feet and looks towards Claire. "Babe, do you know these people."
Following the man's gaze, she already knows where it's going to land but she still can't help but slowly follow his line of sight to Claire. "Babe," Alice repeats face falling as the word and meaning shatters her little bubble of happiness like someone taking a hammer to glass and pluralizing it to sand with brutal force. K-Mark stops buzzing next to her a similar expression taking over her face.
Babe...
The man called Claire babe. Claire who is now not looking at Alice in relief, wonder, or even the same love that Alice was showing towards her. The same love that there since the moment they decided to stop fighting what was between them in the desert and then rediscovered in the prison. No, the only thing in her lover's eyes is guilt.
"Oh." Alice awkwardly says. She thought it was quiet but the silence in the room makes it sound more amplified than it normally would. It echos inside of her head bouncing off the walls adding more pressure on an already fragile surface. Her chest feels heavier. Each breath starts to feel like a blade is being shoved into her lungs. Something wet slips down onto her top lip. Investigavily her toung reaches out to taste the warm substance leaving a sweet meltic taste. She sees Claire's eyes widen in what might be fear. Under normal circumstances that would have Alice alert for any incoming attack but her mind feels drowsy and doesn't make the connection between fear and danger. And then the world is spinning all around as the pain in her head reaches a new high. She tries to blink the pain and vertigo away but that doesn't help. If anything it makes it worse. The last thing Alice hears is her name being screamed as her legs collapse under her and she crashes back to the ground the darkness taking over her once again.
