Episode 332: Sora vs Tyson
Where we last left off, Sora learned that he was battling against Vito, the son of the Winstrate family, whom Sora, Kairi, Lisia, and Rei have met before and defeated in battle. At first, Sora looked like he had the upper hand, but thanks to Vito's Swalot, it was turned around on him right up until Sora had used his Dusknoir as his last Pokémon. Sora defeated Vito and earned his place as one of the four finalists, meaning he was now up against Tyson.
It was time for the championship round to begin. Sora knew Tyson wasn't going to be an easy opponent to beat, so he has exchanged Solrock, Hariyama, Dusknoir, Banette, and Kangaskhan for Crawdaunt, Aggron, Flygon, Salamence, and Honchkrow. Sora thought long and hard, but he decided to go with Pikachu, Ambipom, Honchkrow, Crawdaunt, Flygon, and Aggron for the match.
Brendan had sent out his Swampert to deal with a Dragonite. The Dragon Pokémon was knocked out from Swampert's Hydro Pump.
"Dragonite is unable to battle! Swampert wins! The winner is Brendan from Littleroot Town!" The referee announced.
"Brendan has made it to the final round! But who will be his next opponent? Well, that's what we have this battle here for! And it will begin in five minutes!" The announcer announced.
Sora and Pikachu are walking to the stadium as he looked over at Tyson who had just entered himself.
"Hey, Tyson, good luck out there," Sora said.
"You too, Sora. Just gimme a run for my money out there," Tyson said.
"You do the same," Sora said.
With that said, Sora and Tyson took their places at the battlefield as the battle was about to begin.
Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Karen, Ventus, and their Pokémon partners sat with Riku, Naminé, Terra, Aqua, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, May, Wes, Rui, Michael, Max, Lisia, Zinnia, Rei, and the rest of the Pokémon in the stands.
"This is getting so exciting," Rui said.
"The battle hasn't even started yet, but I know how you feel, Rui," Michael said.
"All we can do is root for Sora very hard," Xion said.
"Eevee," Celeste said.
"You got that right," Rei agreed.
"Now that both Trainers have entered the battlefield, we are about to begin! First, we got Sora from Pallet Town, and we have Tyson from Mauville City! The first half of the battlefield will begin on the Grass Field! Now, let's see which Pokémon our Trainers will choose!" The announcer announced. Sora took out a Fast Ball and threw it.
"Ambipom! You're going in first!" Sora called out. The Fast Ball opened and Ambipom came out to battle. Tyson took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Sceptile, let's go!" Tyson called out. His Pokéball opened and his Sceptile came out to battle.
"Begin the battle!" The referee called out.
"Okay, Ambipom! Swift!" Sora ordered. Ambipom fired Swift from her two tails.
"Sceptile! Use Detect!" Tyson ordered. Sceptile's eye sparkled and stepped aside, making Swift miss. "Use Bullet Seed!" Sceptile fired Bullet Seed at the Long Tail Pokémon.
"Sceptile fires Bullet Seed at its opponent!" The announcer announced.
"Dodge and use Double Hit!" Sora ordered. Ambipom dodges Sceptile's Bullet Seed and came at Sceptile and lands two hits with Double Hit. "Now, use Power-Up Punch!" Ambipom's tails closes to make fists and lands a double punch onto Sceptile, building up her attack power.
"Ambipom lands a mean Power-Up Punch with both of its tails!" The announcer announced.
"Wow, I never seen Power-Up Punch used like that before," Lisia said.
"Neither have I. Ambipom doesn't have those two tails just for show," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"You're right. Ambipom is much faster than I remember. She must have been having some boxing matches with Sora's Hitmonchan," Kairi said.
"Okay, Ambipom! Use Bounce!" Sora ordered. Ambipom uses her tails as a spring and jumps up in the air.
"Ambipom jumps up like a spring! It'll deal some heavy damage with Bounce!" The announcer announced. Ambipom started to come down with Bounce.
"Sceptile! Use Detect!" Tyson ordered. Sceptile uses Detect and Ambipom misses her mark with Bpunce. Sora just smirked.
"Gotcha," Sora said. Tyson was confused. "Use Double Hit!" Sora ordered. Ambipom lands two additional hits with Double Hit. "Power-Up Punch!" Ambipom lands a Power-Up Punch onto Sceptile, building up her attack power again.
"Look at that! Ambipom misses with Bounce and came back swinging with Double Hit and Power-Up Punch!" The announcer announced.
"I see. Bounce was a trick. After using Detect, Sceptile would be wide opened for an attack from Ambipom. Not bad," Tyson said.
"Double Hit again!" Sora ordered. Ambipom uses Double Hit onto Sceptile once (or should I say, twice again). Due to Ambipom's Power-Up Punch, Ambipom's attacks have dealt some heavy damage.
"It doesn't look like Sceptile's going to last much longer out there," May said.
"It was because Ambipom used Power-Up Punch on Sceptile. The more that move lands a hit, the stronger Ambipom's attacks get," Max said.
"Well, Tyson is a tough opponent to beat and Sora knows it. He wants to he on top of it anyway he can," Ash said.
"Sceptile! Solar Beam!" Tyson ordered. Sceptile builds up energy for Solar Beam. Since the sun was shining so brightly, Sceptile fires Solar Beam at the Long Tail Pokémon.
"Use Bounce to dodge!" Sora ordered. Ambipom uses her two tails to dodge Sceptile's Solar Beam.
"A beautiful dodge from Ambipom's Bounce!" The announcer announced. Ambipom lands right on Sceptile, dealing some heavy damage.
"Use Tail Slap!" Sora ordered. Ambipom swings her two tails and slapped Sceptile silly, making the Forest Pokémon fall backwards, beaten.
"Sceptile is unable to battle! Ambipom wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora takes the early lead as his Ambipom has taken down Tyson's Sceptile! Now, which one will Tyson send out next?" The announcer asked. Tyson calls his Sceptile back and he smiled.
"You battled well, Sceptile. Get yourself a good rest," Tyson said. He took took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Alright, Shiftry! Let's go!" His Pokéball opened and his Shiftry came out to battle.
"A Shiftry. And since Shiftry is a Dark-type Pokémon, Ambipom's Power-Up Punch is more than perfect since it's going to be very effective. Okay, Shiftry! Power-Up Punch!" Sora ordered. Ambipom came at Shiftry with Power-Up Punch.
"Dodge and use Mega Kick!" Tyson ordered. Tyson dodged Ambipom's Power-Up Punch and lands a heavy Mega Kick onto her.
"Shiftry pushes Ambipom back with a hard-hitting Mega Kick!" The announcer announced.
"Use Leaf Storm!" Tyson ordered. Shiftry unleashes a powerful Leaf Storm, taking Ambipom in it.
"Shiftry has unleashed a devastating Leaf Storm, and it looks like it does a number on Ambipom!" The announcer announced.
"Mega Kick!" Tyson ordered. Shiftry lands a Mega Kick, knocking Ambipom out.
"Ambipom is unable to battle! Shiftry wins!" The referee announced.
"Tyson has taken down Sora's Ambipom, leaving both Trainers with five Pokémon each!" The announcer announced. Sora calls Ambipom back.
"Don't sweat it. You did your best," Sora said. Sora looked at Shiftry long and hard. "Okay, let's try this one." He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Flygon! You're going in!" His Pokéball opened and Flygon came out to battle.
"Sora's second Pokémon is a Flygon! If it weren't for Flygon being a Dragon-type Pokémon, it would have been at a disadvantage!" The announcer announced.
"Flygon! Use Dragon Breath!" Sora ordered. Flygon fired Dragon Breath at Shiftry.
"Dodge and use Shadow Ball!" Tyson ordered. Shiftry dodges Flygon's Dragon Breath and fired Shadow Ball at the Mystical Pokémon, landing a hit.
"Shiftry lands a hit with that Shadow Ball, but Flygon's still standing!" The announcer announced.
"Keep firing Dragon Breath!" Flygon keeps firing Dragon Breath and Shiftry keeps on dodging.
"Flygon is still firing that Dragon Breath while Shiftry is still dodging!" The announcer announced. Shiftry keeps dodging Flygon's Dragon Breath until Shiftry is struck by Flygon's Dragon Breath and ends up being paralyzed.
"Oh no!" Tyson gasped.
"Use Dragon Claw!" Sora ordered. Flygon flew at Shiftry and lands a hit with Dragon Claw. "Wrap it up with Dragon Rush!" Flygon flew at Shiftry and knocks Shiftry out.
"Shiftry is unable to battle! Flygon wins!" The referee announced.
"And Tyson loses Pokémon number 2!" The announcer announced. Tyson grits his teeth.
Over to Brendan and Morrison, they've been watching the match from the locker room.
"Sora is doing great out there," Morrison said.
"Count yourself lucky you didn't end up with him as your opponent. But you're right, he is. Sora's got this in the bag," Brendan said.
Tyson calls his Shiftry back and he took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Hariyama! Go!" Tyson called out. His Pokéball opened and his Hariyama came out to battle.
"You still good to keep going, Flygon?" Sora asked. Flygon nodded to Sora. "Thought so! Use Dragon Breath!" Flygon fired Dragon Breath over at Hariyama.
"Hariyama! Dodge and use Arm Thrust!" Tyson ordered. Hariyama dodges Flygon's Dragon Breath and uses Arm Thrust and lands four hits on Flygon.
"Hariyama avoids Flygon's Dragon Breath and lands a devastating Arm Thrust!" The announcer announced.
"Brick Break!" Tyson ordered. Hariyama gave Flygon a powerful chop, giving Flygon some heavy damage.
"Hariyama gave Flygon a mean hit with that Brick Break!" The announcer announced.
"Use Dragon Rush!" Sora ordered. Flygon flew at Hariyama with Dragon Rush.
"Flygon is charging right at Hariyama with Dragon Rush!" The announcer announced.
"Dodge it!" Tyson called out. Hariyama dodges Flygon's Dragon Rush just by stepping to the sides.
"Turn!" Sora called out. Flygon turns around and lands a heavy hit onto Hariyama.
"I have never seen a Dragon Rush used like that before! Flygon darts into Hariyama pretty hard!" The announcer announced.
"Use Dragon Claw!" Sora ordered.
"Focus Punch!" Tyson ordered. Hariyama and Flygon came at each other with Dragon Claw and Focus Punch. Once they've each landed a hit, Flygon and Hariyama have each taken some heavy damage from each other.
"Wow, this is a real battle of power between these two powerhouses!" The announcer announced. Sora calls back Flygon. "Sora is making a change in Pokémon! What could he be planning?" Sora took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Honchkrow! Your turn now!" Sora called out.
"Sora's third Pokémon is a Honchkrow! Honchkrow is a wise choice since it's a Flying-type!" The announcer announced.
"Be ready, Hariyama," Tyson said.
"Yama," Hariyama said.
"Okay, Honchkrow! Move in with Wing Attack!" Sora ordered. Honchkrow flew at Hariyama with Wing Attack, ready to strike the Arm Thrust Pokémon.
"Dodge it!" Tyson called out. Hariyama attempts to dodge, but Honchkrow came too fast for Hariyama to dodge.
"Honchkrow came too fast for Hariyama!" The announcer announced.
"Use Dark Pulse!" Sora ordered. Honchkrow fired Dark Pulse at Hariyama.
"Use Arm Thrust to block that!" Tyson ordered. Hariyama uses Arm Thrust to block Honckhrow's Dark Pulse.
"Clearly you have to know Dark-type moves aren't very affective against Fighting-types! Is this a test?" Tyson asked.
"Use Night Slash!" Sora ordered.
"Grab Honchkrow!" Tyson called out. Once the Big Boss Pokémon was close enough, Hariyama grabs Honchkrow in a grip.
"Look at that! Hariyama charged right into Honchkrow's Night Slash, and now, Honchkrow is completely immobilized!" The announcer announced.
"I didn't know that was possible!" Max exclaimed.
"Me neither! I didn't think Hariyama could move so fast!" Wes said.
"Now, use Seismic Toss!" Tyson ordered. Hariyama jumped up and spins around in the air before throwing Honchkrow down to the ground. Honchkrow was willing to keep going after taking that hit from Hariyama's Seismic Toss. Honchkrow had taken some damage from Hariyama's Seismic Toss, but not enough to bring him down.
"Well, it looks like that Seismic Toss did a little more than get Honchkrow get right back on track!" The announcer announced.
"That's fine with me! Hariyama! Focus Punch!" Tyson ordered. Hariyama closed its hand to build up a punch attack to hit Honchkrow.
"Honchkrow! Use Aerial Ace!" Sora ordered. Hariyama misses Honchkrow and darts into Hariyama with a brutal blow with Aerial Ace.
"Honchkrow's Aerial Ace hits its mark, and keeps it from turning the tables on it!" The announcer announced as Hariyama fell backwards, beaten.
"Hariyama is unable to battle! Honchkrow wins!" The referee announced. The crowd cheered hard for Honchkrow's victory.
"Great job, Honchkrow!" Sora said.
"Krow!" Honchkrow said.
"And that concludes the first half since Tyson lost three of his Pokémon! We will be taking a fifteen minute break to make a change in battlefields!" The announcer announced. Tyson called back his Hariyama and sighed.
"Sora is way tougher than I thought. I can see why Katie, Harrison, and Vito had a hard time with him. That isn't going to stop me. I'm going to bring out my A-game on the next half!" Tyson said.
Sora and Pikacnu made it to the locker room and he took a drink of water as Brendan and Morrison walked up to them.
"Wow! That was intense! It's no wonder you're a Pokémon League Champion, Sora! I know you're gonna win it for sure!" Morrison said.
"Slow down, Morrison. There's no guarantee that I would win it," Sora said.
"Are you kidding? You went up against Ash and Ethan in the final round in each Pokémon Leagues you entered in, and you didn't give up an inch. I saw that when you battled Norman in Petalburg City. You didn't give up when we took on Organization XIII in their stronghold, and you didn't give up when you whooped Xehanort's Heartless when you were in the realm of darkness. Don't get me started on when you beat Ganondorf back in Radiant Garden when it was Hollow Bastion, and when you beat Seth back in Johto, and when we beat the Demon Lords and the Dark Masters in the Digital World," Brendan said.
"You're right about all of that, Brendan, but the Organization and those evil Digimon... I didn't beat them alone. I had you guys backing me up. And I had Kairi right with me when we were traveling through the worlds, and I had Kairi, Ash, Leaf, and the D-Team backing me up, too. A huge difference between Pokémon battles and life-and-death situations," Sora said.
"Yeah, but there's one thing that's the same: You didn't give up," Brendan said.
"He's right, Sora," Wes said, stepping in. "I've seen it more times than I can even count. And I gotta say, I was really amazed by what I saw when Rui and I first saw you when we were both in the realm of darkness for five years. You gave us our lives back when we got out when you defeated Ansem and locked the Door to Darkness. We've been grateful to you ever since," Wes said.
"Well, I'm not sure if I didn't anything special, but you're welcome," Sora said.
"You did more than you think, Sora. Before I met Rui, I was on a very dark path until I found my own road and went there. And I took their Snag Machine to keep out of their hands. After that, I met Rui, and my life changed for the better forever. It was because I was able to see the light I couldn't see before. And after we took down Team Shadow's Shadow Pokémon plan, Rui and I ended up in the realm of darkness when we fought Axel and lost. And you know what else after that," Wes said.
"If it weren't for you and Rui, Organization XIII would still have been a problem for us, and they would have succeeded in their plans," Sora said.
"Yeah. In a way, you helped with making it possible for Roxas and Xion being their own people," Brendan said. Morrison was confused by what Brendan just said.
"Their own people?" Morrison asked, confused.
"We'll explain later," Brendan said.
"Well, how about you go out there and give it your all, Sora," Wes said.
"That's the plan, Wes!" Sora said.
"That's what I expect from one of my rivals!" Morrison exclaimed.
Fifteen minutes came and went as the second half of the battle was about to begin. By that time, Wes had rejoined the group after talking with Sora. This time, it was taking place on the Rock Field. Sora and Tyson retook their positions for their match.
"The second half will be fought on the Rock Field! Currently, Tyson has three Pokémon remaining while Sora has five! So, let's see which Pokémon will be coming out next!" The announcer announced as Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Crawdaunt! Go for it!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and Crawdaunt came out to battle. Tyson took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Donphan!" Tyson called out.
"Tyson's fourth Pokémon is his Donphan, while Sora is using a Crawdaunt! Crawdaunt obviously has the advantage since Ground-type Pokémon are weak against Water-type moves!" The announcer announced.
"Use Sandstorm!" Tyson ordered. Donphan whips up a sandstorm, covering the entire battlefield.
"Donphan whips up one fierce Sandstorm!" The announcer announced.
"That can't be good for Crawdaunt!" May said.
"No, it can't. After losing three of his Pokémon, Tyson really can't afford to make any more mistakes against Sora," Terra said.
"Pikachu," Thor said.
"Yeah, if Tyson still had Hariyama, Crawdaunt would have been in more hot water," Roxas said.
"Pikachu," Xipak said.
"Crawdaunt! Use your Crabhammer to plow through that Sandstorm!" Sora ordered. Crawdaunt uses his pincers to plow through Donphan's Sandstorm.
"Donphan! Use your Rollout!" Tyson ordered. Donphan curls into a ball and rolls right at the Rogue Pokémon. The Armor Pokémon lands a hit onto Crawdaunt.
"Donphan scores a direct hit with that Rollout!" The announcer announced.
"Rollout gets stronger from each hit it lands!" Kairi said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Let's hope Sora works up a miracle," Aqua said.
"Yeah, and fast," Naminé said.
Donphan keeps using Rollout on Crawdaunt, dealing some heavy damage, each stronger than the last. Crawdaunt was greatly injured, but he was still willing to keep going, but Crawdaunt was too injured to move.
"It's a string of nonstop Rollouts! We're talking about powerful attacks, each one more powerful and forceful than the last!" The announcer announced.
"Let's wrap it up! Donphan! Rollout again!" Tyson ordered. Donphan uses Rollout again and comes right for Crawdaunt.
"This could be the end for Sora as Crawdaunt lays unable to move!" The announcer announced.
"Crawdaunt! Use Vice Grip to stop Donphan!" Sora ordered. Crawdaunt uses his pincers to grab Donphan by the ears.
"Impossible! Crawdaunt has stopped Rollout by catching Donphan with its pincers!" The announcer announced.
"But how?!" Tyson gasped.
"Use Crabhammer!" Sora ordered. Crawdaunt gave Donphan a strong knock with Crabhammer, sending Donphan backwards. "Now, use Bubble Beam!" Crawdaunt fires Bubble Beam at the Armor Pokémon, dealing some damage on it. Donphan was knocked out by Crawdaunt's Bubble Beam.
"Donphan is unable to battle! Crawdaunt wins!" The referee announced.
"Crawdaunt seals an impressive victory against Donphan!" The announcer announced.
"Great job, Crawdaunt!" Sora praised the Rogue Pokémon.
"Crawdaunt!" Crawdaunt said.
"Look at that. I thought that Donphan had Crawdaunt for a while, but the way he turned the tide back in his favor was no surprise to us," Ethan said.
"Tyson is now down to two more," Michael said.
"Yeah, and it could be either his Meowth or Metagross. Meowth would be the most likely one since his Meowth knows how to use Thunderbolt," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
Tyson calls his Donphan back.
"I can't believe he pulled that one off," Tyson said. He took out his next Pokéball. "He's not the only one with tricks." He threw the Pokéball. "Metagross! Let's go!"
"He sent out Metagross?!" Leaf exclaimed.
"That looks like it'll cost him," Kris said.
"Yeah, because Metagross's Psychic-type moves won't have any effect on Crawdaunt at all," Michael said.
"You're right, Michael, but Crawdaunt doesn't look like he's going to last out there," Xion said.
"Eevee," Celeste said.
"Crawdaunt! Use Night Slash!" Sora ordered. Crawdaunt rushes at Metagross with a Night Slash, ready to strike.
"Metagross! Use Hyper Beam!" Tyson ordered. Metagross fires Hyper Beam, hitting Crawdaunt on the mark. Hyper Beam was enough to knock Crawdaunt out.
"Crawdaunt is unable to battle! Metagross wins!" The referee announced.
"It looks like Crawdaunt was too tender to keep going since it was taken out by a single Hyper Beam! Sora has four Pokémon remaining, so he's going have to make his next one count!" The announcer announced. Sora called Crawdaunt back and he took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Honchkrow! Back to action!" Sora called out. His Honchkrow came back out to battle. Honckhrow came back out to battle.
"Sora sends Honchkrow back out to battle and against Metagross!" The announcer announced.
"Yes! Honchkrow! Metagross's Psychic-type moves won't work on Honchkrow at all!" Kris said.
"Not only that, but Metagross can't attack right away after using Hyper Beam," Ethan said.
"Use Dark Pulse!" Sora ordered. Honchkrow fired Dark Pulse on Metagross, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Night Slash!" Honchkrow flew and uses his talons to slash at Metagross.
"Honchkrow's Dark Pulse has done some decent damage on Metagross, followed by a Night Slash!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Metagross! Use Meteor Mash!" Tyson ordered. Metagross lands a Meteor Mash onto Honchkrow, dealing some damage on him. "Use Hyper Beam!" Metagross fires another Hyper Beam, landing a hit onto Honchkrow, making the Big Boss Pokémon fall to the ground.
"Metagross scores a direct hit with that Hyper Beam!" The announcer announced. Honchkrow lands on the ground, beaten.
"Honchkrow is unable to battle! Metagross wins!" The referee announced.
"Metagross has taken down another Dark-type Pokémon despite being at a disadvantage!" The announcer announced. Sora called back his Honchkrow and he took out Flygon's Pokéball and he threw it.
"Back to action, Flygon!" Sora called out. Flygon came back out to battle.
"Sora sends Flygon back out to battle! Wonder if Flygon is still willing to keep going after battling against Shiftry and Hariyama!" The announcer announced.
"Get him, Sora!" Karen said.
"Flygon! Use Earthquake!" Sora ordered. Flygon slams on the battlefield, dealing some heavy damage.
"Metagross has taken a bad hit from that Earthquake!" The announcer announced.
"Use Dragon Rush!" Sora ordered. Flygon charges at Metagross with a Dragon Rush.
"Nice try! Use Psychic to stop Flygon!" Tyson ordered. Metagross uses Psychic to stop Flygon in his tracks.
"Flygon is caught in Metagross's Psychic and it doesn't seem to be letting go!" The announcer announced.
"Use Dragon Breath!" Sora ordered. Flygon spewed Dragon Breath, hitting Metagross on the forehead. Metagross was now paralyzed by Flygon's Dragon Breath.
"Send Flygon flying!" Tyson called out. Metagross gave Flygon a toss and hits a rock pillar, knocking the Mystic Pokémon out.
"Flygon is unable to battle! Metagross wins!" The referee announced.
"Now, both Trainers are down to two Pokémon each! Now, let's see which one Sora will be sending out next!" The announcer announced as Sora calls Flygon back and he smiled.
"Thanks a lot, Flygon. Metagross is paralyzed from your Dragon Breath. And I got the right Pokémon to send out now," Sora said, taking out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Aggron! It's your turn!" His Pokéball opened and Aggron came out to battle.
"Sora's fifth Pokémon is Aggron!" The announcer announced.
"Metagross! Use Meteor Mash!" Tyson ordered. Metagross came at Aggron with a Meteor Mash.
"Dodge it and use Iron Head!" Sora ordered. Aggron dodges Metagross's Meteor Mash and uses Iron Head to lift up Metagross.
"Aggron is using its Iron Head to lift Metagross like it was a weight!" The announcer announced. Aggron gave Metagross a toss on the ground.
"Metagross! Psychic!" Tyson ordered. Metagross attempts to use Psychic, but its paralysis prevents it from attacking. "Oh no!"
"Oh yes! Aggron! Use Metal Claw!" Sora ordered. Aggron uses Metal Claw on Metagross, slashing its face. "Use Flash Cannon! Build up the power!" Aggron fired Flash Cannon and increases his attack power into it. Metagross is struck hard by Aggron's Flash Cannon and ends up being knocked out.
"Metagross is unable to battle! Aggron wins!" The referee announced.
"And Aggron comes out on top! Sora has driven Tyson down to just one more Pokémon left to use, while Sora still has two more and is a step away from entering the chance to enter the final battle!" The announcer announced. Tyson called back his Metagross and took out his last Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Meowth!" Tyson called out. His Meowth came out, ready to battle.
"And Tyson's last Pokémon is a Meowth! Tyson's Meowth has deal with plenty of larger opponents, but let's see if it can do the same with Aggron!" The announcer announced.
"Don't underestimate that Meowth, Aggron. He's a lot tougher than he looks," Sora said. Aggron nodded. "Okay, Aggron! Rock Slide!" Aggron sends out a Rock Slide.
"Dodge it, Meowth!" Tyson called out. Meowth manages to dodge by jumping from one rock to another. "Use Thunderbolt!" Meowth unleashed Thunderbolt and gave Aggron a good shock.
"Meowth begins its battle by using an electrifying Thunderbolt!" The announcer announced.
"Use Iron Tail!" Tyson ordered. Meowth swings his tail and lands a heavy hit onto Aggron, making him fall backwards, knocked out.
"Aggron is unable to battle! Meowth wins!" The referee announced.
"Now, Sora is down to just one Pokémon remaining!" The announcer announced as Sora calls back Aggron. He looked over to Pikachu.
"Okay, Pikachu, it's all up to you," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu nodded and stepped in.
"And Sora's final Pokémon is going to be Pikachu! This round is going to decide it all!" The announcer announced.
"Meowth! Start with Slash!" Tyson ordered. Meowth rushes at Pikachu with his claws out.
"Dodge and use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dodges Meowth's Slash and fired Thunderbolt right at Meowth.
"Do a Thunderbolt right back!" Tyson ordered. Meowth fires his own Thunderbolt, blocking Pikachu's.
"Two Thunderbolts colliding in midair!" The announcer announced. The collided Thunderbolts generates a bright light.
"What's going on?" Lyra asked.
"Marill?" Marill asked.
"I don't know," May said.
"Thunderbolt again!" Sora ordered.
"You too, Meowth!" Tyson ordered.
Both Pikachu and Meowth fired Thunderbolt at each again, blocking. Riku and Wes caught wind of what was going on.
"Riku, you think that Meowth is just using Thunderbolt just to defend against Pikachu's Thunderbolt?" Wes asked.
"Yeah, that thought came into mind. Tyson must have realized Thunderbolt would make a good defense against Pikachu's Electric-type moves, so he must have planned it from the start," Riku said.
"It's a well-planned strategy," Wes said.
"Sure is," Riku agreed.
"Use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered.
"Double Team!" Tyson ordered. Meowth makes several copies of itself. Pikachu phased right through. "Use Iron Tail!" Meowth swings his tail at the Mouse Pokémon.
"Use Iron Tail to block it!" Sora ordered. Pikachu uses his Iron Tail to block Meowth's Iron Tail.
"Pikachu and Meowth collides into each other with Iron Tail!" The announcer announced.
"Use Slash!" Tyson ordered.
"Use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered.
Pikachu ran towards Meowth with Quick Attack as Meowth ran towards Pikachu with Slash. They clashed at each other, dealing damage on each other.
"And they collide into each other once again!" The announcer announced. Pikachu and Meowth panted as they stared at each other.
"Thunderbolt is going to work since Meowth will just counter with his own Thunderbolt. Or maybe just give Meowth more than he can handle," Sora said. He chuckled to himself.
"Okay, Pikachu! Use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu charges at Meowth with another Quick Attack.
"Meowth! Use Slash!" Tyson ordered.
Meowth and Pikachu came at each other again and they collide into each other.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fired Thunderbolt right at Meowth.
"Meowth! Counter that with your own Thunderbolt!" Tyson ordered.
Pikachu and Meowth held on, firing Thunderbolt at each other. Not one of them was giving an inch.
"Pikachu and Meowth are giving everything they've got with that Thunderbolt collision!" The announcer announced.
"What could Sora be planning?" May asked.
"I think I know," Karen said. They all looked at Karen. "If I know my brother as well as I think I do, I think Sora's planning to overpower Meowth with Thunderbolt."
"Pikachu," Blossom said.
"Karen might be right. There should be a limit of how long a defense can last," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Yeah, Sora's gonna win!" Ventus said.
"Pika!" Sparky said.
Pikachu and Meowth kept on firing Thunderbolt at each other.
"Pikachu and Meowth are still holding on with that Thunderbolt, but which one will be still standing here a winner?" The announcer announced. Pikachu started to get exhausted, but he had to keep going as did Meowth. He was getting tired as well. They kept holding on until Pikachu's Thunderbolt managed to push Meowth's Thunderbolt back and lands a hit on the Scratch Cat Pokémon. "It looks like Meowth just ran out of juice!" Meowth was panting heavy, same as Pikachu.
"Use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dashed at Meowth and lands a hit. Meowth's hat goes flying in the air and lands on the ground as did Meowth.
"Meowth is unable to battle! Pikachu wins! The winner is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"And Sora makes it to the final round!" The announcer announced.
In the locker room, Brendan smiled, knowing what was coming.
"Yeah, way to go, Sora!" Morrison cheered.
"I had a feeling it would end this way," Brendan said.
Back on the battlefield, Tyson helps Meowth on his feet.
"You were amazing out there, Meowth. I'm so very proud of you," Tyson said.
"Meowth," Meowth weakly said.
Sora walked up to Pikachu and picked him up.
"Great job, Pikachu. You were awesome," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"So were too," Sora," Tyson said as he and Meowth walked up to them. Tyson shook Sora's hand and Meowth shook Pikachu's paw. "That was an intense battle you gave me."
"Thanks. I was thinking the same thing for you, Tyson. Your Meowth was really something," Sora said.
"And so was your Pikachu, Sora," Tyson said.
"There's no shame in losing against you, Pikachu. You're one of the toughest opponents I have ever face. For a Mouse Pokémon, I mean." - Meowth subtitle.
"You were pretty tough yourself, Meowth." - Pikachu subtitle.
"Now that the two finalists have been decided, the final battle of the tournament will take place within one hour! I advise you not to miss it!" The announcer announced.
This was the matter of truth. The Hoenn Pokémon League has reached the final match, and only one of them will be earning the final victory. Will Sora win it for a third time, or will Brendan be the one to win the tournament? Find out if you wanna find out.
