It was a rainy afternoon, and the Misterios S.A. gang He decided to take refuge in a cozy bookstore downtown. The raindrops resonated softly against the glass, creating a calm and warm atmosphere inside the premises. The shelves were filled with books of all shapes and sizes, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee coming from the small cafe on the corner invited you to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
Scooby Doo and Shaggy, as always, were looking for something that could satisfy their insatiable appetite. As they wandered through the halls, Shaggy suddenly stopped.
"Look, Scoob! A cookbook!" Shaggy exclaimed, holding up a voluminous recipe book with illustrations of succulent dishes on the cover. "And it's on sale!"
Scooby Doo, with his big curious eyes, approached his friend and sniffed the book, as if he could smell the delicious recipes it contained. "Yummy food, Raggy?" he asked excitedly, tail wagging.
Velma, who was exploring the mysteries section, heard the excitement in Shaggy's voice and walked over to see what it was about. Seeing the recipe book and the longing expression on Shaggy's face, she couldn't help but smile.
"Would you like to have it, darling?" Velma asked sweetly, her eyes shining behind her glasses. Her voice was soft, full of affection, and Shaggy felt his heart beat a little faster hearing her.
Shaggy smiled, feeling a special warmth in his heart at hearing the term of endearment. "Kind of, Velma! But I don't have enough money right now," Shaggy said, somewhat disappointed as he examined his empty wallet.
Velma, ever so considerate, took out her wallet and without a second thought, she paid for the book. "Consider it a gift," she said, handing the recipe book to Shaggy. Her fingers brushed briefly as she passed the book, and they both felt a special spark in that contact.
Shaggy took the book in amazement and gratitude. "Thank you, Velma! You're the best!" he exclaimed, hugging her enthusiastically. Velma hugged him back, feeling a wave of happiness seeing Shaggy so happy. They stayed like that, holding each other for a few moments, enjoying each other's warmth.
Scooby Doo, not wanting to be left out, joined in the hug, knocking them both into a pile of books. Laughter echoed through the bookstore, filling the place with even greater warmth.
"Scooby, you always know how to make a dramatic entrance!" Shaggy said with a laugh as he helped Velma up.
As they got up and composed themselves, Shaggy gave Velma a kiss on the cheek. "Let's go home and try some of these recipes," Shaggy suggested, standing up with the book in his hand. "It will be a delicious night!"
Velma smiled, feeling that any moment with Shaggy was special. "I agree. What do you say, Scooby? Ready for a culinary night?"
"Raca-doo!" Scooby Doo responded enthusiastically, wagging his tail.
Fred and Daphne, who had been exploring other sections of the bookstore, joined them on the way out. "What do we have here?" Fred asked as he saw the recipe book in Shaggy's hands.
"Velma bought me this amazing cookbook. We're going to make something delicious tonight," Shaggy explained with a beaming smile.
"That sounds great. Nothing like a good meal to end the day," Daphne said, smiling at the happiness of her friends.
Back at the gang house, the kitchen was bustling with activity. Shaggy and Scooby, with aprons on, were ready to start cooking. Velma approached Shaggy, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"What would you like to cook first?" she asked, her eyes shining with interest.
Shaggy flipped through the book, finding a recipe that seemed perfect. "How about some homemade lasagna? With lots of cheese!" he said, his eyes shining with excitement.
"Sounds delicious. Let's do it!" Velma replied, laughing softly.
As they worked together in the kitchen, Velma and Shaggy shared glances and smiles. Scooby Doo, always willing to help (and try), was also completely immersed in the activity.
"Can I have the sauce, Velma?" Shaggy asked, concentrating on preparation.
"Sure, here you go," Velma replied, passing the sauce and gently brushing her hand with Shaggy's.
Finally, after a while of teamwork, the lasagna was ready to be baked. The house was filled with the delicious aroma of melted cheese and marinara sauce, promising a spectacular dinner.
While waiting for the lasagna to be ready, Shaggy and Velma sat together on the couch, enjoying a quiet moment. Shaggy took Velma's hand, intertwining her fingers with his.
"Thank you for the book, Velma. It means a lot to me," Shaggy said, looking into her eyes with a sincere smile.
"You're welcome, Shaggy. I just wanted to see you happy," Velma replied, feeling a warmth in her heart. She approached and placed a soft kiss on her lips, sealing the moment with a touch of love.
"Lasagna ready!" Scooby exclaimed, bringing the steaming tray to the table.
Fred and Daphne joined the table, and the gang enjoyed a delicious, laughter-filled dinner. Between bites of lasagna and animated conversations, Shaggy and Velma shared knowing glances, knowing that this moment was just the beginning of many more adventures and special moments together.
I dedicate this small work to my good friend KagamiPINKAgreste.
I'm a little proud of this oneshot because Scooby Doo is the series that I love the most, I loved making a fanfic of a series that has been with me since my childhood.
