Potion Accident.
It's a cloudy day on the Boiling Isles. Luz, Amity, Willow, and Hunter have. Just dropped off their 7 year old kids at the owl house. They all have to work and the kids don't have school. Luckily Eda and Lilith don't have to work. And Lilith is at the owl house visiting Eda. Raine has already had gone off to work. So Eda and Lilith agreed to baby sit their grand kids. The older witches enjoy Luz, Amity, Hunter, and Willow so much. That they consider them apart of the family. So their kids are their grandkids. Amity and Luz's daughter is named Azura. She has light brown hair, amber eyes, and caramel colored skin. Azura is four months younger than Caleb.
Caleb is Hunter and Willow's son. he looks a lot like Hunter the only thing different is that he has green eyes. About five minutes after Amity, Luz, Hunter, and Willow left it started raining. Now Lilith and Eda can't sent the kids outside to play. Lilith thought for a moment then asked "How about we go into the kitchen. And we teach you how to make a pain potion?" Caleb and Azura smiled and said "Yeah that sounds like fun."
"Go ahead and get them started Lilly. I want to finished straitening up the living room." stated Eda
Lilith nodded and took Azura and Caleb to the kitchen. She got a medium size cauldron. Then she got some of the ingredients that they will need. Lilith then started showing Caleb and Azura. How to make a pain potion. Soon she needed more ingredients for the potion. So she turned around and started collecting what she needed. Caleb and Azura are excited and want to keep going. So they each grabbed something off of the table and tossed them into the potion. Lilith finished gathering what she needed. Then she walked over to the table and set things down. She looked over at the cauldron. The older witch noticed that the potion wasn't. Looking and acting the way it should.
Before Lilith could ask if the kids did something to the potion. There was a bright light and a big loud Boom! Eda who was in the living room straitening up. Heard the boom and felt the house shake. Dropped everything and ran toward the kitchen. As she ran she heard the kids yell "Grandma Eda!" Once in the kitchen Eda saw that there is potion everywhere. She looked over at the kids and they seems ok. Then she asked "What happened? Are you two ok? And where is Lilly?"
"Grandma Lilly was getting more stuff for the potion. We were excited to keep going. So we each grabbed something from the table. And put it in the potion. Not long after Grandma Lilly put what she got on the table. Then the potion went boom." explained Caleb
Eda looked around and asked "Where is Lilly?" Caleb and Azura shrugged and together. They started looking around for Lilith. Five minuted later Eda was looking on the chair by the table. On one of the chairs she found an owl. It's twice the size of Owlbert. The owl is grey with red peppered in with the grey. There is a streak of red on the owl's right wing. The owl is also wearing Lilith's spectacles. And it has a black diamond on its chest. Eda blinked "Lilly is that you?" The owl looked at Eda and hooted. Eda didn't understand what she was trying to say. So Eda yelled "Owlbert come here please!" Eda's palisman Owlbert popped out of Eda's hair. And flew down to the table. The grey owl hopped up to the table.
She hooted at then Owlbert hooted at Eda. Then Eda sighed and said "Kids come here I found Lilly." Caleb and Azura ran over to Eda and looked around. All they saw Eda, Owlbert, and a grey owl.
"Where is Grandma Lilly Grandma Eda?" asked Caleb
"The grey owl is Grandma Lilly." replied Eda
"Oh no sorry Grandma Eda and Grandma Lilly." said Caleb and Azura
The grey owl hooted then Owlbert translated. Eda nodded and stated "Don't worry you two Lilly isn't angry. Besides Lilly and I have had potions explode on us before. Especially when we were younger. Now what did you two put into the potion?" Caleb and Azura showed Eda what they put into the potion. Eda nodded and said "Ok show me what Lilly had put into the potion." Azura and Caleb showed Eda what Lilith put into the potion.
"Ok the good news is that Lilly being an owl is temporary. I'm just not sure how long she'll be like this. Well let's get this mess cleaned up." assured Eda
With that said Caleb and Azura helped Eda clean up. Once everything was cleaned up Eda looked out the window. She can see that it's still raining. So Eda suggested "Since it's still raining how about we got watch a movie?" Caleb and Azura smiled and said "That sounds good." Eda, Caleb, and Azura left the kitchen and went into the living room. The older witch dug her crystal ball out of her hair. She set it on the coffee table and found a movie to watch. Just before she sat down Eda can hear hooting. Eda left the living room and went into the kitchen. Once in the kitchen Eda saw Lilith and Owlbert still sitting on the table. Now sitting with them is Lilith's palisman Dusk.
Dusk is a white raven and he seems confused. Eda smiled and said "Don't worry Dusk it's only temporary." Lilith looked at Eda and hooted. Owlbert translated and Eda said "I'm not carrying you all over the house Lilly. Owlbert and Dusk can teach you how to fly." With that said Eda left the kitchen. She went back into the living room. Eda sat down on the couch and watched the movie. Half way through the movie Eda saw Dusk, Owlbert, and Lilith fly into the living room. They landed on the perch behind the couch. Lilith's landing wasn't very graceful but she landed nest to Owlbert. Eda smiled and continued watching the movie.
Once the movie was Eda noticed what time it's getting to be. Just then Azura said "Grandma Eda I'm hungry." Eda stood up and said "Then let's go make something to eat." She and the kids left the living room. They went into the kitchen and started making something to eat. Owlbert, Dusk, and Lilith flew into the kitchen. While Eda was cooking she looked out the window. And saw that it has stopped raining. So she opened the window and Dusk flew out. After making something to eat for herself and the kids. Eda got into her fridge and out plate. She sat down and put the plate in front of Owlbert. Then she and the kids started eating.
Lilith looked at the plate and saw chunks of meat. She watched as Owlbert picked up a chunk of meat and ate it. The grey owl hooted at Eda. Owlbert translated after he swallowed.
"Lilly considering you are an owl right now. I don't know what is safe for you to eat. So you'll have to eat what Owlbert eats." Eda pointed out
Lilith looked back at the plate of meat. She walked up to it and gave it a sniff. To her it smells good so she. Used her beak to pick up a chunk of meat then she ate it. The meat tasted good so she got another chunk. Owlbert and Lilith ate until they are full. After everyone was done eating the kids helped Eda cleaned up. After cleaning up Eda asked "Do you kids what to go out and play? Or would you like Grandma Eda show you how to properly make a pain potion?" The kids looked at Eda and replied "Please teach us Grandma Eda." Eda smiled and gathered everything that she would need. Owlbert hooted happily then flew out of the window.
Lilith decided to follow him out the window. They flew around the yard until she saw Owlbert land in a tree. Lilith looked around and saw Dusk catching and eating bugs. Then she looked over at Owlbert and saw that he's going to the bathroom. She looked away to give him his privacy. Owlbert laughed and hooted and Lilith can understand him.
"No need to look away. We are birds there is no judgement. We fly together, roost together, nest together, and go to the bathroom together." informed Owlbert
"Sorry Owlbert I'm not use to this." stated Lilith
"It's ok come on let's fly around." stated Owlbert
With that said Owlbert took off and Lilith followed him. The two owls flew around the woods not far from the house. They flew around for a couple of hours. Then Owlbert landed in a tree and looked at the ground. Lilith landed next to him and looked where he is looking. She can see a rodent moving around. Owlbert watched the rodent for a few minutes. Then suddenly hew flew out of the tree toward the ground. Lilith watched as Owlbert swooped down and killed the rodent. Then he started eating the rodent. Just then Lilith's stomach started growling. She is getting hungry again. Lilith flew a couple of trees over. She looked down at the ground for a rodent or something small to catch.
A few minutes later she spotted a rodent. She watched for a minutes then. She swooped down out of the tree. She's trying to do what Owlbert did. But she's coming in to hot and her talons. Caught the ground and she came crashing to the ground in a heap. Owlbert saw what had happened and. Picked up his catch in his beak and flew over to Lilith. By the time he landed next to her. The grey owl has gotten to her feet. She shook the dirt and dust from her feathers. Lilith stood there for a moment and heard Owlbert ask "Are you ok?" She shook herself again and replied "I think so." Owlbert put what was left of his catch on the ground.
"Here you can have what's left I'm full." stated Owlbert
Lilith looked at Owlbert and asked "Are you sure?" Owlbert nodded and replied "Yes I'm sure." Lilith ate the rest of the rodent. Then Owlbert and Lilith flew back to the house. Once back at the house Owlbert flew through a open window. Eda is at the kitchen sink. She has just got done cleaning up. After properly teaching the kids how to make a pain potion. Owlbert and Lilith flew in and landed not far away. Eda noticed how ruffed up and dirty Lilith is. So she let her dirty water out of sink. Then she put the plug back sink and started filling the sink. Back up with warm soapy water. Then she asked "Oh my Titan what happened?" Owlbert hooted telling Eda what happened. Eda smiled and said "Don't worry Lilly I'll clean you up."
Once the sink has enough water in it. Eda picked up Lilith and put her in the water. The warm water felt good on her sore body and wings. Lilith sighed and Eda grabbed a cup. She filled it with water then pour it over Lilith. Once she was we enough Eda. Grabbed some soap and rubbed it into Lilith's feathers. She gently messaged the soap all over Lilith. Once she was done she rinsed the soap out of Lilith's feathers. When she was done she picked up Lilith. And sat her down nearby. Then Eda the water out of the sink.
"Caleb could you bring me a towel?!"asked Eda
A few minutes later Caleb came into the kitchen. He gave Eda a towel then went off to go play. Eda wrapped Lilith in the towel. Then she started drying Lilith off. Once Lilith was dry Eda pick her up. Eda went into the living room and put Lilith on a perch. It's getting to be the evening hours. Just then Luz, Amity, Hunter, and Willow came into the living room. Azura and Caleb saw their parents and ran over to them. Amity hugged her daughter and Luz asked "How were things today Eda?"
"Well we did have a potion accident. The kids got over excited and. They added extra ingredients to it. And it went boom and made a mess. Don't worry everything was cleaned up. And no one was hurt I ended up. Properly teaching them how to make a pain potion." informed Eda
Hunter, Willow, Luz, and Amity looked around. Then Hunter asked "Where is Lilith?" Eda pointed at the perch by the couch. They looked and saw an owl. It's twice the size of Owlbert it's grey with red peppered all over its feathers, a red streak on the right wing, it has spectacles on its face, and a black diamond on its chest. Hunter raised an eyebrow and asked "Is that owl Lilith?" Eda nodded and replied "Yes that's Lilly. She was by the cauldron when the potion went boom. The kids showed me what they put into the potion. Luckily she'll be like this temporarily. How long she'll be an owl I don't know." Hunter looked at his son and asked "Did you apologize to Eda and Lilith?"
Caleb nodded and replied "Azure and I both apologized
"How have you been able to understand Lilith Eda?" asked Amity
"Owlbert has been a big help. In translated what Lilly has been trying to say." replied Eda
"She's not mad is she?" asked Willow
"Oh no not at all. If anything it reminds us of the potions that have exploded on us. It's how we learned and it's how these two will learn." replied Eda
Luz smiled and said "Thanks for being patient with them." Eda waved her hand stated "Not a problem kiddo."
"Ok let's go home." stated Hunter
With that said Luz, Amity, Azura, Hunter, Willow, and Caleb left. Eda went over and sat on the couch. She got out her scroll and found something to watch. The witch sighed and said "I'm just glad King decided to spend time with Mom and Dad. I had enough to deal with today." Lilith just sighed and watched what Eda was watching. They watched Eda's scroll until it started getting late. Eda yawned and said "Come on everyone let's go get ready for bed." She put away her scroll and headed upstairs. Owlbert, Dusk, and Lilith followed Eda up the stairs and into her bedroom. Owlbert and Dusk flew up into the rafters. And Lilith landed on a perch.
Eda got ready for bed then went back into her bedroom. She smiled when she saw Lilith on the perch.
"Didn't feel like flying up into the rafters huh?" asked Eda
Lilith just shook her head no. Eda picked up Lilith and carried her over to her nest. The witch put Lilith down on the edge of her nest. Then she got into the nest and grabbed her blanket. Eda laid down and got comfortable and said "There at least I won't be alone tonight." Lilith knew that sometimes Raine gets busy and doesn't come home at night. Eda covered up with her blanket and said "Goodnight Owlbert, goodnight Dusk, and goodnight Lilly." Eda heard two hoots and a squawk then she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. Lilith nestled down fell asleep as well.
As the night went on the effects of potion wore off. And Lilith went from an owl back to her usual self. In the morning Dusk and Owlbert were the first to wake up. They looked down at Eda's nest and saw that Lilith had turned back to normal. Dusk sighed in relief then he and Owlbert. Flew down out of the rafters and flew out the open window. Ten minutes later Eda yawned and stretched. She sat up and rubbed her eyes. Then she looked over at the edge of her nest. She giggled when she saw Lilith. Most of Lilith's body is in the nest. With her long legs over the edge of the nest. Eda scooted over next to Lilith. She shook her sister and said "Lilly it's time to get up."
Lilith, yawned, stretched, and opened her eyes. She looked up at Eda and asked "Please tell me I'm not still an owl." Eda smiled and replied "Considering I can understand you. And you didn't hoot at me. You're back to your old self." Lilith sat up and was glad to see that she had hands not wings. She sighed and said "Oh thank the Titan I wasn't looking. Forward to another day as an owl." Eda smiled and said "Come on let's go make breakfast." The two witches got out of Eda's nest and went downstairs. They went into the kitchen and started cooking. While Eda was cooking griffin eggs. Lilith got into the fridge and got out the plate of meat chunks for Owlbert. Then she checked the rodent trap in the cabinets.
Luckily one of the traps caught a rodent. Lilith added it to Owlbert's plate and put it on the table. Then she went over to the open window and yelled "Owlbert time for breakfast!" Then she helped Eda finish cooking. By the time they sat down to eat. Owlbert flew in and landed on the table. He hooted happily when he saw what was on his plate. Lilith smiled and said "Thank you so much for helping me yesterday." Owlbert hooted you're welcome then started eating. Then Lilith looked over at Eda and said "For now on the both of us. Should be in the same room. When we teach the kids how to make a potion." Eda nodded and said "Agreed Lilly agreed."
