Authors Notes: Man this is a idea I've wanted to write ever since I first played Final Fantasy Tactics Advance which I still consider one of the best Game Boy Advance games ever. Yet before I go off to much on a tangent please allow me to give special thanks to a particular FFTA Fanfic that triggered me actually inspired me to finally push this idea forward. Aside from that this is a original idea in the FFT universe of Ivalice using elements from FFTA, and FFTA2GR hence the weird title lol.

With that said small warning this will take about two chapters to kick off into the adventure I just want to get the set up, and starting characters right so please be patient with me T3T.

Other than that its a AU take one of FFTA, and with original characters minus... a few future planned cameos mixed in with elements from the games. With all that said I hope you enjoy, and if you like it please leave a follow or a review it helps us writers know when we are making something you like. Heck even if it is a criticism the fact you took time out of your day to do so says our idea is worth the effort.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance + A2: Disillusions

Chapter 1: Like Clockwork Snow

...

The sky was rather hasty this particular night it seemed. The reports had said first snow would be upon the town by midnight, but not even a moment after the clouds had started to form late afternoon did white droplets start to slowly dance down gracing the citizens of St. Ivalice. Many started to get excited pointing at the dazzling display as frosty chill of breaths started to show signs of lowering temperatures causing many to be elated. Others though groaned in annoyance knowing the work that would follow the brilliant, and mesmerizing display as the cobblestone roads would be hell to pave clear as ice would start to settle no doubt overnight. The town had already started to prep, but only now that the winters display had begun to lightly cover everything white did the real fun begin.

Kids started to run out chasing after the snowy delights trying to snatch the snowflakes with hands, and tongues alike. Humored were the adults even those who had been annoyed as the young ones were set upon with wonder into the night. Street lamps started to flicker on creating a scene much like out of a Christmas movie peaceful, and silent as the darkness stretched out by the light only added to the wonderous scene tonight. Old cars, and trucks were slow on the roads now aiming to be safe in the old brick built town as one particular eighteen year old hummed along to the ebbing flow of the snow reaching a hand out to catch a single snowflake... the cold touch strangely mesmerizing as it was gone in a moment melting against the touch of his skin

"Huh, so this is snow," the teen mused as the winds gentle picked up ruffling against his medium-lengthen faux hawked hairstyle of an auburn strands. The words he spoke were more whispers to himself as he found himself entranced by the new experience of something so normal to the world. This had been his very first experience with snow after all as he original came from a more desert climate. The shopping bags held by his free hand jingled a bit as his attention was brought back to his duties at the moment. He was out getting Christmas decorations in advance as the month of November neared its end. Emerald eyes looked about watching people react pretty casual to it all. Picking back up the soft tune he was humming he moved on decided to act normal to it as he moved away from the store he had left moments ago. Yet before he could cross the road a soft honk made him realize the cross walk light was not on his side.

A rather expensive 1980's Silver Rolls Royce Phantom VI slowly casually drove up with tinted windows. At first the teen was sure he was about to get a ear full as the window rolled down. Yet as a elderly gentleman was revealed at the wheel a soft ahem following a cough from the back from a unseen figure causing the elderly man to sigh with a soft smile.

"Young man please be careful. The night holds many a inebriated soul at the wheel. It would be unbecoming of the world if a fellow such as yourself were to be lost to it," the gentleman oddly spoke before rolling the window back up moving forward slowly past the same bridge the teen needed to cross as well. Rather confused what the gentleman had meant the teen shook his head with the sound of crunching snow signaling his forward movement. He watched the kids running about the street as he neared the bridge the laughter of children causing him to smile, but to also get lost in a echo of a pained memory... or more a one he wouldn't know. The gentle breeze died out as the hustle, and bustle of the town faded out. Walking was a bit of chore a solid four mile chore in fact, but since he was still rather new only a week into his new home he wanted to learn the layout as quick as he could.

Yep... a week now... since they left there old home after what had happened. The teens emeralds eyes dimmed to the thoughts about why they had moved, yet in the silence a sudden sound of a fist making contact with someone's gut pulled his full attention. Running in his red coat, and blue jeans the teen looked down from the bridge seeing a dark skinned teenaged boy covered in black clothes with numerous white accessories much resembling a gothic style keeled over clearly from a gut punch from one of the three more menacing rougher teens seemingly rather annoyed with something the goth had done.

"Listen freak you wanna dodge us having fun with you during school cause of your siblings status? Sure whatever plenty of wimps to make a example of so that's fine. Yet you start meddling with our fun outside those little walls, well? Your just asking to get a well deserved whoopin runt," the Auburn teen recognized all three of them instantly. With nary a though he dropped his bag and rushed to the other end of the bridge before taking a left turn, sliding down the railing leading to the bottom of the bridge. Before anyone else could get anything else in word edge wise the auburn teen slid in blocking them from the hurt teen.

"Who the fuck are you," the bruiser teen who had thrown the punch demanded a bit perplexed at the sudden arrival, but all to ready to continue the rumble as he lifted his green cap a bit to get a better view of the interloper. The one on the left a bit overkilled, and decked out in a massive blue jacket with puffy mittens seemingly atop of mittens froze up a bit jutting an accusing finger to which the streetlamps on the bridge, and from other areas creating a shadow extension of that accusing finger that reached all the way to Auburn teen menacingly.

"That's the punk that got Jacob suspended yesterday," the teen on the right proclaimed clearly not happy with that as his scowled yet scared lips curved into frustration as the purple metal bat he held onto quickly turned the scenario a bit more threatening than one would have been ready for from a bunch of teens. The Auburn teen however had a negative reaction of his own to Jacobs name. However as the Auburned teen turned his view to the injured goth an added layer of issues entered the scene. Not far underneath the bridge was a group of homeless folks around a bin fire who were currently pulling away a injured elderly man who had seemed to have taken a swing from the bat on scene. Behind him though was a frightened girl about sixteen at best around the same age as the goth kid.

"Three against one with a clear disadvantage, harassing the feeble, and just all around pieces of trash? Ya it would make sense your friends with that dumpster fire," the Auburn teen shot insultingly to the three getting a immediate wave of glaring dislike, and animosity from them in kind. Feelings aside though these three were without a doubt utter trash having no remorse in their eyes... just elevated violence that the auburn teen wasn't sure he could contain by himself.

"Tsk, not our fault your an emotional wreck who cant take a joke... what is your freaking name? Oh ya, Micah the "Forgotten Mourner" that's what the boss called you," the overclothed blue jacket boy rattled out with venomous intent at the end earning a added layer of ire from the auburn Micah who took a step forward in equal hostility causing a unexpected flinch, and a step back from all three of them. Well, until they quickly remembered it was three against one causing them to take the same step back forward. Micah hissed as they weren't the type to be rattled it seemed when pushed back like that ass from school.

"Not my fault you failures follow a bigger failure. Can't even make up your own insults though? Gotta copy? Pretty pathetic if you ask me. Though if you want to follow that stuck up raised white neck collared diseased rat by all means, please do, if the rest of us are lucky maybe you all will even choke on his toxic fed hand-me-downs," Micah shot back rather perturbed by the very insult that had caused his fight at school yesterday. However he cursed himself under his breath. He was letting his own emotions rile him up in a situation he needed to be calm. If a fight triggered now it was his fault, and it was possible people would get hurt again that would be on him. The three punks which Micah dubbed Green Cap, Purple Bat, and Blue Jacket seemed to contemplate how they wanted to proceed on this, but before Micah could try to wind back the situation to a peaceful negotiation Green Cap seemed to have enough steam built up to not need anymore reason to launch into a run.

Quick in response as Green Cap threw his hands forward Micah took a aggressive step forward catching the punks hands with his own forcing the two into a stand off of strength trapped in a grappling hold between the equally 5.10 foot teens. The two eighteen year olds pushed against each other as their feet skid against the ground threatening to rub off the bottom of their shows against the cobblestone underpass. Micah's situation increased in issues as the much taller 6.4 foot Blue Jacket came running in from the left with all intensive purposes to tackle Micah from the side. Unexpectedly though he was met with the much smaller goth kid jumping onto his back forcing Blue Jacket into a head lock that caused him to panic and swing in circles spinning the helplessly holding onto 5 foot kid his feet dangling in the air swung in every direction with Blue Jackets movements.

Though the save was much appreciated it was short live as Purple Bat came into view from the right taking a wide swing straight for Micah's...

CRACK...

Green Cap, and Micah were both caught off guard as Purple Bat screamed in pain dropping his bat before dropping to the ground himself in pain with one hand against his temple where a very well executed snowball made contact. A small clank showcased a rock that had been stuff in causing the ball of fluff to be much worse than one would be prepared for as a small spittle of blood oozed between Purple Bats fingers. Snapping back into reality on the distraction at hand Micah quickly shifted his whole weight against Green Cap forcing him into a yelp as the bully was pushed back giving Micah just enough space to shove a boot straight into the punks stomach kicking him to fall right on his ass.

Micah immediately turned left with every intention of helping the goth kid, but to his surprise the little guy swung his feet latching them around Blue Jackets waist before throwing everything he had to swiftly turn Blue Jacket to run right into the pier of the bridge disorienting him long enough for the little guy to jump off pulling the giant by the neck of his jacket to use their combined weight, and momentum to flip the puffy jackass on his side sending Blue Jacket barreling into Purple Bat, and Green Cap. Upon his freedom the Goth teen ran right to Micah's side holding his hands up ready for a second round... Micah was impressed by the scrappy kid. Looking up past him though revealed to Micah who had thrown the snowball. Just a bit further up the small hill that Micah himself had slid down from stood a rather intimidating Irish Japanese mixed girl with pale skin whose almond eyes burned infuriated rage equal to no other that Micah's gaze had ever met.

She stared at the three thugs pissed off beyond all belief for what had transpired without a doubt as she squinted her eyes in disgust for their actions. In her hands was another snow ball at the ready which her finely thinned red purple gloves pushed another rock into as warning. Strands of straightened long brown hair flowed around her face as the gently breeze from before picked up only adding to the menacing eighteen year old woman of war appearance her stance gave. Her rustic green coat flapped with the wind rather long for a jacket more so reminding Micah of a trench coat a noir detective would wear. However thin lips, and a strong Irish accent broke him away from the thought.

"Listen up you little pieces of shit. Unless you wanna give me a reason, to give my father a reason, to give your daddies a reason, to whoop ya with a proper beating clearly long overdue? I suggest you scamper off... NOW," the authority from such a thin 4.8 foot girl was rather impressive as all three of the punks showed legit panic from her appearance and her threat. Blue Jacket, and Green Cap immediately got up pulling Purple Jacket up running off with their tales tucked between their legs. A annoyed tsk escaped the girls lips as she was even more pissed that they didn't even have a shred of dignity to attempt to fight back, but instead immediately keeled over... no as Micah watched her expression it seemed like she was mad about something else on the matter.

The goth teen let out a long held breath releasing a rather frosty trace of exhaustion as he hunched over catching himself by the knees relieved from the situation at hand ending. Micah watched the girl still rather agitated slide down rather flawlessly as she even skated to them casually tossing the snowball away folding her arms as she turned to the goth.

"Adrian you know you... new play?" The girls reaction at first seemed to be a form of reprimand, but upon looking him over she seemed more shocked by his attire confusing Micah who thought this was how the goth was. Though now that he watched the goth boy he realized his mannerism hadn't really matched the aesthetic now that he thought about it.

"Oh ya. "Bizarre World Hamlet"... do not ask... you have been warned," Also I know Nora I shouldn't be stumbling into fights I can't win," the goth dressed teen now formally labeled Adrian chuckled with brown eyes looking thankful towards Micah as he caught his breath standing up with a rather genuinely aloof smile with so much white lipstick, estrange accessories, and eyeliner you would think he had come off the set of something akin to Repo the Genetic Opera.

"To be fair he did pull his weight literally in the situation," Micah expressed as a compliment earning a surprise look from Adrian that quickly turned into a smile of appreciation. Nora's stern motherly look to Adrian quickly evolved into a amused, and approving small curve of a grin as she sized up Micah.

"True. Just long enough for the white knight to enter the scene, but than again that's not your first save of the week is it? Shouldn't push your luck so much or you'll bring the ire of the school bullies on ya," Nora teased yet complimented Micah's heroics if not at least was amused by them. As this went on the homeless girl came over with the man who had defended her. As they came close they both turned to Adrian.

"We really appreciate you stepping in," the girl spoke blonde disarrayed hair fringed at the tips bobbed up, and down as she began to bow politely numerous times. Just like Micah she was definitely Caucasian yet with all the dirty smears and over tanned skin you wouldn't be able to tell that at first glance. Her clothes were a mix match of numerous odds and ends with one blue, and one red holed mitten barely keeping her hands warm while her jacket, and black cap were rather oversized on her. She even had a piece of rope operating as a belt to hold up baggy pants a few sized to big.

"... Thanks... at least there are still some decent youths around. Wished I could give you hospitality, but that would require hospitality to be given," the gruff elderly homeless man spoke not staying long as he went as quick as he came back to the bin fire. While it was clear his rudeness wasn't directed at them it was easy to tell his life had been no where near easy as he looked rather ancient, and old with rigid white hairs attached with an extremely scruffy beard built up from improper care. The girl seemed wanting to talk more, but she also clearly didn't want to leave the elder man alone bowing again politely her blue eyes expressed the measures of her thanks to them.

"I wish I could have made a difference. Sorry for being so weak," she apologized before anyone could correct her from any faults. Adrian in particular frowned at her words resonating with them in a way. With the homeless folk back to huddling with their own it was without needing a word time for the three to leave. As Micah followed Nora, and Adrian up the steps he took notice of that same Rolls Royce from earlier parked off in the distance revealing the path Nora had taken from it to the scene.

"Ah, you saw my bout with Jacob," Micah expressed with a surprised eyebrow raised as he figured out what the gentleman had meant being more so Nora's words. Nora didn't say anything though just giving a soft shrug playing coy it seemed.

"Hey you guys up to anything tonight," Adrian's sudden offer halted the other two in their tracks before they could go their separate ways.

"I got my hands on a strange book, and well... it rather interesting from a occult angle," Adrian explained excitedly revealing a knapsack he had picked up on the way up the stairs. Before he could pull whatever book he wanted to show off a rather aggressive bottle shattering noise caught all there attention turning it towards the sight of a bars front entrance.

"How many times you gunna pick fights with the customers huh? What? Not enough hell at home so you gotta bring it here," a rather irate stocky tank of a man expressed having thrown a bottle into the side of his own establishment. The two people he was yelling at were having no interest to meet the mans eyes. Though as Micah watched he noticed they both were rather similar oddly enough... maybe twins? Both shared the same dark skinned complexion with brown eyes, and equally coil hair, and atop of sharing physical traits they both disturbingly shared a look of placated indifference. The owner noticed this, but instead of being more upset he seemed to be hit by something of a mental thought that made him stop yelling as he scratched the top of his head speaking unexpectantly softer this time as if feeling bad for them now that he had vented his frustration of them out.

"Listen just clean up the mess inside, and treat the customers like people you know, ignore what they say, and if they say it to much you tell me for now on got it. That mess you made in their with the customers meals? That coming out of both your pockets as punishment... take a minute to breath if you need, but than back to work aight. I need people who want their jobs so this is your last warning," the bar owner sighed strangely as if he had lost the situation or was giving up on trying to make a point to them. It was rather pathetic though as the two workers had nothing to say nor gave any form of apology for the trail of mistakes it seemed. However once the man was gone the girl turned ahead immediately locking eyes with the group of three.

"Adrian? What are you doing here? Oh... that's right one of us was suppose to walk you home weren't we," she asked with a monotone voice seemingly having no life to her words though it felt like she should have been surprised, or felt guilty for forgetting something like that especially at this hour.

"Huh, oh bro... these your friends," the male next her turned as well at the name spoken giving Adrian apathetic look before turning to the other two. He didn't seem to have a reaction to what his twin had remembered... what was wrong with these two? It was like watching people in a haze without any reason to exist. It was so bizarre to Micah as he watched their mannerisms... they seemed so dead of life having no feeling or care to their name.

"No... no worries Latoria I know your busy. I wont waste your time. Besides you got stuff to do right? Ya... fresh batch just made em Elijah," Adrian awkwardly joked with a hesitant smile, and a few hand mannerisms as if he was trying to play it off casually. Micah wasn't sure how to feel in this situation as things got more estranged the longer it when. It felt like the twins didn't really react to what Adrian had to say nor what they had done, or forgotten to do as a matter of fact. Which wasn't helped by what followed next.

"He got into a fight with Jacobs cronies. Fought them quite proper in fact. Right under the bridge, right across from your job...," Nora spoke with an inquisitive eye watching them for any normal reactions... evident accusations were being made from their actions. Lamentably not even a panic of concern ever came, and the empty reaction Adrian had to it made it clear this was very much the norm. They just both looked at Adrian neither having any idea what to say... after a rather prolonged silence though Elijah nodded.

"Just be careful Adrian we gotta go back to work... let dad know were going to be late alright," Elijah requested before heading back into the bar causing Nora's crossed hands to break dropping to their sides in shock as she turned to Latoria hoping for anything to come up on her end to give what surely should have been made of this information. Latoria just turned away walking up the steps of the bar as she mumbled.

"Make sure to eat, and makes sure dad eats to," and with that? She was gone passing the doorway back into the bar job leaving the three there with a mixture of reactions. In truth Micah wanted to react, but the fact of the matter was he didn't have any idea what was going on. The suddenness of these new experience didn't help either as it felt like he had exited a confrontation straight into a wall of isolation. He wanted to give both of Adrian's older siblings a piece of his mind. Shouldn't they had cared about Adrian getting into a fight, or made sure he was okay? What the hell was going on? Micah started to step towards the bar entrance, but he was halted by a hand that caught his wrist. Turning around with a plain as day expression Micah was oddly met with Adrian having been the one to stop him.

"I appreciate it... I really do, but... its not out of animosity... they just been on auto pilot since mom died," Micah frustrations were deflated instantly by Adrian's explanation. No matter what ones own opinion on this situation was, that type or reveal made gauging a moment like this extremely complex. Micah's facial expression turned from annoyed confusion to conflicted regret.

"So the rumors are true your a big hearted mess," Nora smiled shaking her head at Micah's reaction. Who in turn looked at Nora with a hesitant chuckled ruffling his hair as he turned back to Adrian. So she knew... Adrian looked between the two before coughing lightly not wanting to lose the opportunity he aimed for originally he jumped between the two like Jack Skellington raising his hands in a performance unexpected with a cartwheel in place. Landing on his feet with little effort Adrian shot back up with his hands extended out with a big gothic smile.

"Like I was saying I got my hands on a very interesting book if you guys are interested wanna look at it over some awesome Pot Pie at my place?" Adrian offered his smile growing so wide it could potentially explode. Both Nora, and Micah looked at him in bewilderment before Nora finally caved.

"Alright, alright let me give you two weirdos a ride I got a little midnight oil to burn," Nora expressed a bit with a mumble as she swirled her wrist in a annoyed manner, but it was evident she was making attempts to mingle with her newly acquainted friends. Which was strange she most definitely knew about Adrian, Micah could see that yet this whole event felt like it was the first time she had actually interacted with him. Same went for Adrian he was clearly aware of Nora, and her thoughts... but he was going out of his way to win her offer just as much as him. Well it was a small town after all everyone probably did know everyone, but that didn't mean they all mingled.

Looking up and realizing the two were starting to leave without him Micah snapped out of his thoughts grabbing his bags as he rushed after them... it wouldn't hurt to make some new friends after all.
