The next morning was surprisingly serene well it was until Jeanne herd Nora in the background no stop talking to Ren "It's morning, it's morning, its morning!" Nora was singing loudly waking up with a groan 'even till this day I have no idea how Ren kept Sane' Jeanne thought as she made her way to get ready for initiation.
Her she was in the locker room where she met Pyrrha, and she was about to re-meet her again for the first time as Jeanne walked over to the promised arrival, and she arrived right while Pyrrha and Wiess were having a conversation "- I was planning on letting the chips fall where they may" Pyrrha stated she had a good idea of where this conversation was going.
"Well… I was thinking maybe we could team up together?" Weiss asked awkwardly and nervously looking towards Pyrrha who for a second look shocked then replied, "well that sound grand!" she all but shouted trying to come off as excited even if she was anything but.
Wiess not noticing Pyrrha's obvious awkwardness about the situation that Weiss was forcing on her was ecstatic "Great! Thos will be perfect! The smartest girl in class combined with the strongest girl in class! Together we shall be unstoppable! I can see it now! We will be popular! We will be celebrities!" She went on with her delusions of grandeur.
Looking at the scene Jeanne took this as an opportunity to jump into the conversation she walked in between Pyrrha and Wiess and began to talk "you know if you want to you could join my team? Hi, I'm Jeanne Arc" Jeanne tried to ask but it was awkward as per usual she had thought that she was over her awkward stage with Pyrrha, but this wasn't her Pyrrha well she was but not really and Jeanne wanted everything to go perfectly this time.
Weiss was beyond irritated at being cut of by what she believed was an incompetent child and growled "you again" Pyrrha however was polite as ever "it's nice to meet you Jeanne" she smiled at Jeanne "yeah it's nice to meet you too umm?" pretending that she didn't know who Pyrrha was Asked, and this caused another outburst from Weiss "oh come on you don't know who this is not even a clue?" Weiss asked Jeanne stopped looking at Pyrrha and turned to Weiss straight faced and stared at her "not even the slightest clue, why she famous or something?" Weiss was flummoxed and Pyrrha looked at her with something akin to gratitude? "This is Pyrrha" Weiss looked at Jeanne to see if her face changed with any recognition of the name seeing that there was none she continued.
"Pyrrha graduated top of her class at sanctum" Jeanne perked up with that and Weiss thought shed finally figured it out "oh that's pretty cool, good for you" Jeanne congratulated Pyrrha and Weiss stumbled on her heels no Jeanne did not finally get it "she won the Mistral festival four times in a row! A new record" trying to stress how important that was. "that's also cool is the festival a big event or something?" Jeanne asked pretending to be confused and Weiss just stared at her for a second.
"Yes! It is such a big event that she is on the front of every pumpkin Pete cereal box!" Weiss screamed trying to figure out how it was possible for someone not to know this very well-known information. Jeanne took this as her moment to freak out "no way! That's you! They only do that for star athletes and cartoon characters!" Jeanne looked at Pyrrha with stary eyes.
Pyrrha let out a pitiful laugh "yeah too bad the cereal isn't actually very good for you" Jeanne over to Weiss in the corner of her eye and decided to have a little fun.
"Yeah, I know but it's just so tasty, enough of that though" Jeanne stared at Pyrrha with the most serious face she could muster and asked "when you were doing the photo shoot did you meet any cartoons? like curious cat from the story Alice. Any at all" she really hated her time in the story land in her other lifetime and hated the cat, but this was too good to pass.
Pyrrha and Weiss froze and looked at Jeanne for a second then looked to each other and Pyrrha looked like she had decided on something " well no, I didn't meet any but I am sure they were around somewhere" Pyrrha said looking over at Weiss with a stare Jeanne couldn't quite understand to see if shed deny this she didn't. 'Have they just decided to keep quiet that cartoons aren't actually real because of my age? I think they have. Why on remnant would ice queen Weiss not bring it up?"
Weiss saw Pyrrha's look and decided to quickly change the subject "and hearing how qualified Pyrrha is do you really think you are in a position to ask her to join your team?" Jeanne looked back over to Pyrrha who had a small frown "sure why not? I think it will be pretty fun." And Pyrrha smiled "yes I think you would make a great leader Jeanne" hearing that Weiss just stormed off.
After getting ready they were sent to the top of the cliff facing the emerald forest. Ozpin began to talk "for years you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the emerald forest" when he finished began "now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of 'teams'. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion, each of you will be given teammates…today" "what" ruby could be heard, and Glynda looked like she took immense pleasure from the despair radiating of Ruby.
Ignoring ruby Ozpin began to talk again "these teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at beacon. So, it is in your best interest to be paired up with someone you can work well with." Ozpin paused no doubt to build effect for his next words "that being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years." Ozpin smirked after he said that "what!" and again Ruby could be heard.
