"Alright class, everyone grab your math books and open at page 39, we are going to do exercise 4 to 12" a woman in her forties said as she wrote that information on a blackboard with a piece of chalk. Every kid in class sighed collectively as they grabbed their books from their backpacks or under their desks, one of them, Billy Batson, also known as the hero Captain Marvel, picked his math book from under his desk and placed it in the table before realizing that it wasn't his book, but rather a old book with a red leather cover and yellowed pages
"Huh? This wasn't there before..." Billy said as he observed the book, reading the title that said "Record of Calamity and Cardinal weapons"
"Mister Batson, I said math book and not History book" the teacher said as she slammed her wooden ruler on to his desk, catching back his attention as the boy turned to look at her
"Sorry mrs Claire..." Billy said as he picked the book and placed it in his backpack and grabbed from the inside the actual math book. After a boring and tiring class about multiplication, Billy went to the public library to check out the book, first he asked the librarian if the book was from there or if she knew what it was about, she didn't have a single clue
"What's this thing anyway? Why was it on my desk?" Billy said as he picked a desk and sat there as he observed the book, deciding that to learn what it was about, he would have to read it
"Let's see... In a world far different from this one, a threat called the Waves of Catastrophe threatened the lives of the population, cracks in the sky that monsters poured out with their sole intention of ending the lives of the people" Billy said quietly under his breath as he looked at a page of the book, depicting a city with monsters attacking it as the sky was colored red
"To combat that, the world would summon heroes from different earth to wield magical weapons, the bow was wielded by someone with great sense of justice, the spear by someone with great trust in his allies, the sword by someone with great power and growth" Billy continued as he read the pages featuring those said heroes, who were represented with blank statues reminiscent of those of roman times, these statues had nothing to different them aside from their weapons, either impling the heroes could be anyone or that they were all the same
"And the shield was used by... Captain Marvel?!" Billy exclaimed loudly as he saw in the page a drawing of his hero alter ego with a shield in his arm, a smile on his face as lightning was hitting his chest. Suddenly, the pages of the book began to flip by themselves as the words in them began to glow in a gold light
"Woah!" He exclaimed as he got out of the chair and took a step back, the pages of the began to rip themselves out as they started to circle around Billy at astonishing speed as if he was inside a glowing hurricane, suddenly, he didn't felt the ground beneath him as he started to fall into a pit of golden light
"Shaz-Ugh!" He was unable to pronounce the words and transform as he hit solid ground way sooner than he expected, scratching the back of his aching noggin "my head..."
"O great heroes, please save us from calamity!" An priest shouted as he looked to the summoned heroes with pleading expression, Billy got up to look at him before noticing the strange silver shield in his arm, before he could ask the man what was going on, someone spoke first
"You can forget it, I don't want to save your world or whatever" a voice called out grabbing Billy's attention, it was a blond teen with a ponytail and red eyes, on one hand he held a long spear with a red jewel that seemed to glimmer under the dull rays of the sun that barely illuminated the room they were in.
"I also refuse myself" spoke another young blonde haired kid present there, he had a bow and used a school uniform of some high caliber institute
"You brought us here without our consent, don't you feel the least guilty about that?" One with a sword and black hair said as he pointed his weapon to the robed man as if to threaten them
"Not to mention, if you throw us out as soon as we restore peace we would've done all that work for nothing" the bow wielder added as he nodded along to what the teen with the sword had said
"How are you willing to accommodate us? depending on your answer, we may become your enemies" The spear wielder leapt at the opening the bow carrier made, now point his spear at the robed individuals.
"Great...bullies... Hey! Did you parents never told you it is not nice to threaten people like that!" Billy said as he looked at the weapon bearing individuals with a fist raised, seemly finally noticing the young boy, the three looked at him and were surprised to say the least
"Huh? Is... Is that a child?" The bow hero spoke out, seemingly the most surprised by this, specially by Billy's previous comment about him being a bully. The sword seemed more neutral on the matter but it still caught him by surprise, the spear was surprised but in a more amused way than actual worry
"You guys summoned a child to save your world, wow, you lot are desperate" the spear hero said as he turned back to face their summoners
"Heroes! You can all discuss this with the king, he is eager to meet you all and he can more than reward the four of you, so please just follow me..." The priest said more serious tone than he was before, very little if not no anger at all in his voice anymore. He motioned with his hands as he led them out of the room. There was a brief moment where all heroes were silent and looked at each other.
"I guess" the sword hero murmured, putting his sword down
"Well, we can at least see what they offer" The bow hero sounded like he thought the whole world should be grateful for his indifference.
"King or no, our demands will be high. No amount of talking will change that" the spear hero sounded like that stubbornness was a good thing.
"Well, I'm glad to help either way" Billy responded but it seemed no one cared about his response, as they followed the priest out of the room, Billy took notice of the shield in his arm and the weapons the others carried with them
'Bow, spear, sword and shield! Just like the book! I must have been zapped here!' Billy thought as he saw that as very much the truth, he went into many magical and fantastic adventures as a super hero, being sucked into a book to play the role of one of the characters wasn't nearly the most outlandish thing to happen to him
As they went through corridors and flights of stairs, when they reached an window, the four stopped to look at the outside view, seeing the town bellow filled with active, Billy looked in awe of the sight, everything was like the history and fairy tale books described of medieval times
"Crickey! Look at that view" Billy says as he pointed at the distant horizons, before he saw that only he was at the window and the others were a few steps away from him "Hey! Wait up!"
They approached a set of big wooden doors and knew that's where they would be meeting the king, the doors began to open and they walked inside, Billy looks at the throne room and the many decorations on it as well as the knights present there before seeing the king sitting in his throne
"Greetings Heroes, I am king Aultcray Melromarc the thirty second, I'm pleased to see you all here, could you four introduce yourself" The king introduced himself and he definitely looked like a king, he was donned in robes of navy blue with detailing and trim of gold. Over that was an elegant cloak of a rich purple, he had grey hair that reached down to his shoulders with a trimmed grey beard, each of his fingers except for the pointer fingers was a gold ring with only the right index finger sporting a gem, purple in color. Upon his head was a gold crown as expected for a king to have and it had a lone purple gem in the center of it.
"Billy Batson, 12 years old, and I am the great super hero Captain Marvel! Strongest mortal on earth!" Billy said as he took a small jump forward before doing a stoic pose, placing his arms to his waist, since he was in a different world, there was no reason to hide who he was. Most people in the room found the boy's attitude and clear attempt to try and hype himself up as great hero endearing and charming, the king however, did not seem to think like that, as he had nothing but a cold stare to give the kid
"How cute, I'm Motoyasu Kitamura, 21 years old and I was in college before getting here" the one wielding the spear went next and did a flash pose in his introduction to make himself look cooler in front of the king
"Ren Amaki, 17 years, high school student" the boy with the sword 'cut' down to the chase and said all the necessary information
"I suppose I'm up next, Itsuki Kawasumi, I'm still in highschool and I'm 17" the one with a bow spoke while inspecting the bow and even pulling on the thread
"Very well, I suppose that the four of you should be given an explanation on why you're here... My country of Melromarc and the entire world is in grave danger of a threat known as the Waves of Catastrophe." He gave a description of these Waves. They could happen anywhere at any time, lasting for multiple hours or until the boss controlling that wave is killed. He also said something quite troubling for sure, during the time of the wave monsters would continue to pour out of the cracks in the sky that begin said wave and even after it is stopped by killing the boss or by a set amount of time passing, any monster already here would remain until slain "It is said that once the waves are finished the four legendary weapons will give you all the ability to return to your world, but the waves are devastatingly strong later on so it is best to summon you four now, when the waves are weak to give you time to strengthen yourselves to stay ahead of the wave's growing threat"
"Strengthen ourselves? Are we not legendary heroes? are these not legendary weapons?" Ren spoke as he lifted the sword he held to his chest
"Ah, yes... You are legendary heroes and those weapons are the 4 greatest weapons in this world... but not right now" the king clarified as that made the heroes look at their weapons more inquisitively in hopes to understand what he meant by such vague words
"It gains strength alongside its chosen hero and it can even absorb the power of the fallen to become stronger" the king gave a brief and honestly vague explanation on how these weapons worked, thankfully something appeared out of thin air to give a better explanation
[Notice: The cardinal shield can absorb objects and monster parts to unlock new forms, new forms provide stat increases, as well as abilities. Fully mastering a weapon form provides its bonuses permanently, allowing most skills and abilities to be used with another weapon form in use]
'It eats dead bodies? Eww...' Billy thought as that was incredible gross, if this was a super duper sacred weapon, why did it had to do something like that to get stronger? He could only wonder
"As for you yourselves, could you activate your status magic?" the king asked, leaving three of them perplexed while Ren seemingly already knows what to do
"What? Status? how do I do that?" Billy asked as he looked at the other heroes for guidance, Ren sighed before looking at Billy
"There should be a small white cube on your vision, right at the corner of your eye. Focus on it and then the status screen will appear" Ren explained as best as he could and Billy followed his instructions, finding the icon and focusing on it as a screen appeared in front of him

"Wicked cool!" Billy said as he looked at the status, he didn't know why he couldn't see his stats as Captain Marvel, but if he was to make a educated guess, this mathematical system simply could not put into numbers how marvelous he was with the power gifted to him by the wizard Shazam
"This is worse than I thought..." Ren said, clearly thinking out loud as he looked over his status screen
"I know right? Level 1? That gonna be a lot of grinding...and there's already a wave coming up..." Motoyasu said as he seemed to finally lose some of the arrogance he had when they were summoned, but just a little
"This will be a lot of work and we've confirmed no rewards still..." Itsuki commented, Billy saw that as a very selfish thing to ask, wanting rewards when the end of the world laid at their hands was a jerk move. But he couldn't blame a smug teen for wanting to get such a thing, he probably doesn't know the first thing about being a hero
"Of course, you will be rewarded handsomely, and not just at the end, but after every wave, we will reward you heroes. Every step of the way." A man in purple by the side of the throne said, probably the king's advisor
"Well There's four of us, so we just need to form a party.-"
"Excuse me, but that won't do at all." the advisor said cutting off Motoyasu before explaining more clearly "Due to the unique qualities of the holy weapons, none of you can gain experience while near one another."
[Notice:The four holy weapons dampen one another's power while within close quarters. Distance is advised whenever possible]
"You must form parties separately. Gather strength then fight the waves together" The king responded,none of the heroes seemed bothered by this, as none of them wanted to work with one another, Billy didn't want to be together with these bullies and the other three seemed to believe themselves better than the others and too important to share the spotlight with the others, specially a child
"Heroes you can ask us questions all day; however, your status magic should be a great aid. Please refer to it tonight." The king motioned to several servants wearing traditional maid outfits
"For now, please rest and adjust to these trying circumstances. Tomorrow I will introduce you to adventures who have agreed to aid you in your difficult quest. Between your status magic and seasoned adventures by your side, most questions you have will be answered soon enough"
The servants motioned to the heroes to follow. They were first taken to a dining hall, where they eat some of the local cuisine and afterwards they were escorted to a private room where they would pass the night, after they entered and the maid accompanying them had gone out the four heroes relaxed a bit
"Our maids were kind of cute, did you see how big her chest and hips were?" Motoyasu said as he lazily spread himself at a armchair, the other heroes felt that the spear hero was a bit improper for pointing out such detail in front of a child
"And although our dinner had quite a different taste, it was quite delicious" Itsuki commented as he tried to move subjects, as he remembered the many unique dishes they all ate
"Better than the grub they serve in my school that's for sure" Billy said as he remembered how tasty the food were compared to the usual slop he ate at school, he was pretty sure that even if he somehow ate a gross spider dish or something, it still was better than the mystery stew they served in Thursday. His comment did get a chuckle from the other heroes
"Can't wait to kick the monsters up to the moon! They don't stand a chance!" Billy said as he did a little punch, thinking about himself fighting off against giant dragons, ogres, wizards and fantasy creatures alike as his hero persona
"Ahh so naive..." Motoyasu said chuckling as he swayed his head side to side before looking at Billy with a expression carrying both smugness and pity, although the smugness was much more apparent than the pity "Sorry to break it to you kid, but you aren't going to do any of the monster beating"
"Why not? I can brawl" Billy said as he did some punches in the air as if he was boxing against a invisible opponent
"Well First off, you are a child, so you really shouldn't be trying to fight monsters that are going to be three times your size, second, you are the shielder class that is the worst one in the game, only noobs and losers use it" Motoyasu said as if that was all the explanation needed, but Billy simply looked at him and tilted his head to the side confusedly, wondering what in Solomon's wisdom was he talking about but he did understood quickly that he was insulting him
"Hey! You big bully! I'm not a loser or whatever a noob is! I have been in a ton of action, more than you know it!" Billy shouted out as he looked at the oldest out of them, as Motoyasu still beared in his face that smug look
"I'm just saying the truth, since Emerald Online is more for a teen audience, you probably didn't play it since you would know how bad the shield was in that game, and since this place is identical to it, well... You just suck, objectively" the spear hero was cold with his words, not seeing the need to sugarcoat it for the kid, thinking it was best for him to already know how bad he is going to struggle for simply being the shield, something outside his control
"You could stop being mean to him, he is just a kid you know? Plus you are wrong, this place is like Dimensional Wave"
"Brave Star Online, that's the video game this place resembles, not those others you two mentioned"
"Nah bro, I never heard of those games before, this is Emerald Online!"
"Dimensional Web!"
"Brave star online! End of discussion!"
The three teen heroes devolved into arguing with each other as to which game this place resembled the most, Billy just looked at them confusedly before sighing, leaving the room unnoticed by the shouting teens as he was frankly uninterested in this whole argument, the only games he knew were those from the local arcades and none of the ones mentioned by the other heroes matched with any game he heard about.
He went to one of the other rooms and laid down on the bed, turning to look at the ceiling with a positive smile on his face as he thought about all the new adventures he was gonna go through this land
"Summoned to save another world, life sure is interesting when you're a super hero" he happily proclaimed as he turned to his side and closed his eyes, going off to dream
Billy woke up the next morning when the sun shined in his face through his window, he stretches for a bit before getting up as he walked out of the room
"Hello! Anybody up?" Billy asked as he went to the other rooms were the other heroes were supposed to be sleeping but found no one inside, he scratched the side of his head wondering where they could be. The sound of steps caught his attention as he saw a maid walk pass in the corridor carrying a bunch of cloths
"Hey! Do you know where the other heroes are? They weren't in the rooms" Billy shouted as he came towards the maid, who was startled and almost dropped the cloths, as she turned around to look who bothered her, she looked down to see that it was the shield hero, which surprised her again
"Shield hero! What are you doing here? The other heroes already went to receive their party members and funding from the king" the maid explained to the boy, as Billy looked eye wide at her before slapping his own forehead
"Oh man! I overslept!" Billy said as he started to run through the castle trying to find where the king and the other heroes were. Eventually arriving in way back to that large throne room from yesterday, just as the king and some servants seemed to be ready to leave the room
"I'm here! I'm here!" Billy said as he supported himself on his legs while trying to catch some air
"Ah! Shield hero... You're here..." King Aultcray said in an unenthusiastic tone, his left eyelid twitching for a moment
"Sorry, nobody woke me up on time" Billy said as he approached the king as he looked around the room "So where are the others? And who's going to be on my team?"
"Ah yes, unfortunately all the volunteers have already joined the other heroes and have gone ahead to adventure through the city and forest. Seems like you will have to find companions of your own" the king said as his face showed a expression of pity but his voice sounded content and pleased in a way
"But to alleviate some of your problems and help you in recruiting party members, I've separated this bag of 800 silver coins for you" the king said as he snapped a finger to a servant, who brought with her a bag, handling it to the kid
"Thanks I guess... What am I supposed to do now?" Billy asked the king, who seemed annoyed that he was still here, as he sighed before looking at the boy
"Go out of the city walls and into the fields, there will be low level monsters for you to fight there" the king suggested and Billy nodded enthusiastically
"Some action could cheer my mood, thanks mister king!" Billy said as he ran off while waving back at the king. After being guided by a knight out of the castle, Billy explored the city, looking around for any extraordinary stuff since he was in a different world, seeing some giant birds pulling carriages and people riding some velociraptor looking things, but the city was overall relatively normal but he bet that the outside would be more wild and interesting with the monsters
As he walked around the streets, he couldn't help but realize that he couldn't read any of the words in this strange new world. Now that he thought about it, how exactly did this country know English?
'Maybe I could read it using Solomon's wisdom as captain marvel?' the boy thought but shrugged that idea off for the moment, he had monsters to fight after all
He reached the city walls and was allowed passage through the gate after showing the guards his shield as a confirmation that he was a hero and not just some kid. As he walked into the open field outside the capital city, where he would be leveling up and were only weak monsters like Balloons roam around, Billy saw some movement from the tall grass and lifted up his shield and prepared to say the magic words in preparation for the monsters about to come out from it, as from the tall grass came out... A group of orange balls with sharp teeth and feral eyes, Billy posture eases up and he lowers his shield as he looks at the fierce "monsters"
"Ha! I thought fierce monsters roamed here, not the gym's spare dodgeballs!" He commented mockingly as the balloons growled at him, compared to any of the things he fought on the daily, these were practically jokes
"I don't need to become captain marvel to beat these things!" He said as he kicked a balloon, sending it away, the other two pounce on him as he barely had time to reach as they went to sink their teeth in him, all he could do was close his eyes in anticipation for the pain
"Huh?" Billy said as he opened his eyes to see a balloon munching on his arm and one on his leg, but the monsters teeth didn't seem to be able to penetrate his skin or clothes, and instead of feeling pain from their bites, he felt...
"Hahaha! Stop! That tickles!" He said giggling as he shook the monsters away from his body, managing in a few motions as he took a moment to catch his breath and wipe a tear from his eyes, before looking at the rubber-skinned creatures
"Ha... Alright enough screwing around, let's get stronger!" He said as he ran at them smiling with a fist ready to deliver a right hook
After a few hours of fighting monsters that were unable to hurt him and reaching level 5 by himself, Billy walked back towards the city, eager to collapse face-first into a bed or couch. He was pretty tired from the monster fighting. The knights at the front of the castle begrudgingly let him in, but he swore that one of them gave him the stink eye.
He planned on going to the castle and ask the king of he could sleep there again, although he was a bit lost as he wandered the streets that all sort of looked the same to him. Billy stopped, walking as he heard yells coming from a nearby alley. He looked around and saw that he was probably in the bad part of town. The buildings were more simple, more rundown, and the atmosphere…
It felt like a never ending sense of dread. Despite this, Billy kept walking, toward the alley. He walked up to the entrance and his breath hitched. Two big guys, thugs with knives were holding some girl his age in a choke hold, the girl was strange, she had ears and a tail reminiscing of a raccoon of some kind
"You run off from your master or something? Damn, demi. I bet he'll pay us a pretty penny if we hand you over… but first…" One of them said, holding up a knife to the girl's throat. A red line slowly appeared as the man pressed the knife a bit more.
"Leave her alone!" Billy cried out, gaining the two men's attention. One of them stared at him in disbelief and another one began to laugh hysterically.
"Oh! Why don't you get lost… shrimp." One of them said, twirling his knife around but Billy wasn't intimidated in the slightest, he dealt with worst and scarier foes than a guy with a knife
"Last chance, leave her alone or I'm going to kick you a new one!" Billy gave them one final warning, it was now either they agreed with their thoughts of assurance of being able to clean the ground with his face, or trust a gut feeling of suspicion to not mess with a boy like him and the powers he held
"And how are you going to achieve that? Boy! I shat turds bigger than you!" The thug said as he giggled maliciously as he thought about how he would make that kid cry for his mommy as he cut him limb by limb
"Like this, SHAZAM!" As those words exited Billy's mouth, a lightning struck him and caused a big flash of light and smoke to explode, as the thugs and the girl recovered from the flash bang and as the smoke dissapeared, they looked at the boy who was struck, but there was no boy anymore
Instead, in the place that once stood Billy Batson, now stood a adult man of incredible physical stature, not only having well developed muscles but also standing at a height of 6'1 feet. He wore a red outfit with a golden lightning in his chest, golden boots and bracelets, with a golden cloth wrapped on his waist, he had a short white cape with golden edges that had a colar
"Well? Who's the boy now?" Captain Marvel said as he pointed a finger at one of the crooks, as line of electrical energy came out of the tip of his finger and struck the crook, sending him flying into the wall. The other criminal, now scared out of his mind, ran at the captain screaming as he held his knife forward before trying to impale the hero, but the blade simply broke when it struck his chest as if it was as solid as a rock. The captain and the crook shared a look before Billy simply flicked his finger at the hooligan and that sent him to join his friend against the wall "I told you, it would have been better if you surrendered"
Billy looked at the raccoon girl, as he slowly approached her as she responded by backing away in fear while clutching the small cut in her neck, Billy realized that she was scared and quickly dropped to one knee as he reached a hand for her, putting the most reassuring smile he could in his face
"Hey, it's okay, I'm not going to hurt you, I'm a super hero! Here to help out" he said to her, the raccoon girl seemed reluctant to believe him but as she looked at one of his arms, seeing the silver shield that shined even in this dark alleyway, her heart eased up and she approached him
"Now let me heal that cut of yours" Captain Marvel said as he placed a hand to her chest, his palm glowed for a few seconds before lightning came out and involved the girl's body, she was startled but soon realized that the electrical energy wasn't hurting her but rather was healing her, she could feel the cut in her neck closing, the scars in her back that tormented her with ghostly pain at times she could feel as if they were fading, the headache and sore throat caused by a sickness inside her body was disappearing and in just a few moments. She was completely healed
"There, all good now! You also had a simple sickness and some type of minor curse in your chest but it was nothing compared to my magic of Zeus" Captain Marvel explained, thanks to his wisdom of Solomon, he knew more about what was afflicting the girl's body, and his magic did the rest, although he wondered what that curse was about, it was supposed to shock her if she did... Something, that's all the wisdom of Solomon gave him for the moment
"You... That was incredible" the girl said as she looked at him with amazement and stars in her eyes
"Marvelous some might say" Billy told as he chuckled at what he had said, it was so corny but the girl didn't seem to have noticed or care for it
"Who are you?" The girl asked as she wondered who the mysterious man or kid that saved her was, she had a idea but she needed confirmation from him before getting her hopes ups
"I'm Captain Marvel, strongest mortal and champion of the wizard... SHAZAM!" He said as he transformed again in a bolt of lightning and smoke, as now Billy Batson he stretched out a hand to greet and shake her's with "But my friends know me as Billy Batson, newly appointed shield hero, here to save the world. What's your name?"
"Raphtalia, thank you for hearing my prayers and saving me!" The raccoon girl revealed as she more than eagerly shook his hand back, as the revelation of his title made her heart grow three times from sheer joy
"Well, Raphtalia, do you want me to take you back to your parents? They must be worry sick about you" Billy said as he was willing to help her reunite with her family, giving her a ride through the skies was sure to get her chipper than now
"Oh... My parents are... Gone..." She said as she looked away saddened, scratching her arm. Billy felt his heart sink to his stomach, he had opened a wound in her without realizing
"Ah! Sorry... Do you have anyone to go back to?" He asked, wondering if she had a uncle or aunt to look after her, maybe a best friend with really nice parents to accommodate her
"No... I have no one left" she said even more saddened, depressed even. Now Billy just felt worse, no wonder
"... A orphanage?" He asked as a last option as maybe she had just ran away from it or went to play outside before getting in that scuffle
"What's that?" Raphtalia asked, her saddened overpowered by curiosity as that strange word was unknown to her
"You know, a place were lost kids and those without family are look after, having a warm beds and a roof to sleep under, served hot meals, give access to bathrooms to shower and do their necessities?" Billy explained and waited for Raphtalia response as he assumed that, surely, she didn't know what a orphanage was because it had a different name in this parallel world of monsters and knights
"I wish there was something like that here... It sounds like a dream..." Raphtalia said wishfully as what the boy had described was every enslaved demi-human child dream besides the end of slavery or the return of their freedom.
"Then... Huh..." Billy began to think very hard as he tried to figure out how he could help this girl, she was all alone and as he finally decided to stop ignoring the rags she was wearing, was in poverty and living in the streets, he thought of a idea, it might not be the wisest considering he didn't have Solomon's wisdom but it was the best he could offer at the moment "... How about you stay with me? I can protect you from any thug that tries to hurt you!"
"I would like that, thanks Billy" Raphtalia said as having the shield hero, one that clearly matched some of the tales she heard even if he had a strange capability to transform from child to man, was probably the best thing that could happen to her besides her parents somehow reviving from the dead
"Now lets go! I was thinking of sleeping in the king's castle again, you're going to love the beds and pillows there, they are super soft" Billy said as he was sure that would make her day, going to a castle would already be espetacular but sleeping in a bed made for the comfort of royalty was next level. Raphtalia reflected on that idea, would she be allowed inside? Would they look at in disgust? Even if she was the accompany by the shield hero, who was to say she would not be taken in her sleep and sold back into slavery
"... Actually, I think they have already close the bridge to the castle, no one can get inside now" she said, trying to innocently convince Billy to not go through that idea, she felt that it would be safer for her to be in a inn than in the royal castle
"Unless they can fly, something a certain captain here can" Billy said as he gave her a wink with a smile on his face, Raphtalia was still reluctant but decided to put her faith in the marvelous boy, he already saved her life once, no problem in trusting him on this one

So I made another DC X Shield hero story, I was trying to write the Flash but decided to try doing Shazam instead because I don't know that much about the Flash to make him work (his speed, I can't decide on what speed he should be able to move that wouldn't feel too slow but not so fast it breaks the verse four times over. Only read the 2010 run before Flashpoint so I have limited knowledge here, but he is literally too fast for the shield hero plotline so if I have to write him, I have to slow him down to a manageable level)
Despite inspiring this on the gold age era of Shazam comics so is more light hearted and fun, I don't want this version to be tied down by lore that I would be forced to study extensively just to be 'comic accurate'. it's my own take on the character.
Writing comic book characters is annoying due to people wanting to know exactly what version I'm using, I prefer to take the basic and well known qualities of the characters to make my own version because continuity can be a bitch, especially for comic book characters with hundreds if not thousands of appearances (I have honestly been thinking of rewriting the first chapter of the Superman fanfic to remove the ties to the death of Superman event, just so I can be a bit more flexible with the character)
Super heroes in general break shield hero because they are already established heroic characters that think in a much different manner than Naofumi, therefore they don't do or take the same paths as the original narrative. It could be interesting, experimented with that in this chapter but problem comes when you have to continue on, without the original railroaded path of story it becomes hard or complicated to know what would happen, like does the character NEED to adquire a filolian? Do they go a similar enough route as of Naofumi so they face the Bioplant or the zombie Dragon? Does the rape trial happen? And if so what stops heroes like Flash or Green lantern from leaving the country? These are fun questions to try answering but the existing world building of shield hero gives a poor job on answering these possible scenarios, because the wider world isn't flashed out enough so we can paint a more clear picture of what would happen (Motoyasu's spin off helps, but not enough I'm afraid)
Should I try inserting more heroes into the world of Shield hero? I have a Flash and Green Arrow one shot in the works but they will take a good amount of time to be done, I need to find a right balance on Flash's speed to write him somewhat consistent because I don't want to end up making a CW Flash that can react to bullets and lightning but not average speed punches. Green Arrow is tricky because I don't know what type of narration I want, do I stay with third person or experiment with first person? I don't know which is better, his personality makes for an interesting first person but third person is what I am used to.
Also any wonder woman fans could give me an ACCURATE and GOOD explanation of her character? I want to write a Wonder Woman one shot to complete the DC trinity, but I don't have enough knowledge of her character as I began reading the most recent run of Wonder Woman and I don't know if that is the best to understand the character, neither do the cartoons feel like they paint the full picture on what her character is (they only really began to push her more recently, and without any notable cartoon or video game of her own. It becomes hard to pin down what exactly her character is supposed to be currently, she doesn't have a definitive adaptation like Batman the animated series or The Christopher reeves Superman movie that just understands the character in a way that defines this version not only as a classic, but a good way to know what the character is about)
