Yelena woke up the next morning. She got off of the couch, immediately waking Natasha up. From the Infinity War to now, it had been three years. Natasha and Yelena had spent the last two years in a special MIT program that Tony Stark had helped them out with to both get college degrees and have more education. They had graduated in two years, and both worked for a Stark Industries branch in Ohio. All the while staying physically fit, despite their not-always-healthy diets. Yelena ate an unhealthy amount of mac and cheese along with chips, while Natasha's unhealthy habit was ice cream and loads of nutella. They had a lot of chocolate and other candy in their house. They still made an effort to work out almost every day. The stronger one was Yelena, but the more capable one was Natasha. They were both millionaires now, and were proud of their accomplishments, but they knew that they couldn't have done it without Tony Stark. Despite that, they could both still be very bad about doing the groceries, as Natasha still sometimes ate expired food. Sure, due to the Red Room's experiments, they never got sick or any kid of poisoning, but it still wasn't great to have it. Yelena threw it away when Natasha wasn't looking, and told them that they needed to order new groceries. After a breakfast of eggs and bread, they ordered it, and set it to arrive the next morning. Once they finished ordering everything, they rode on their motorcycles to work. They were currently working on new Widow's bites for each other, and possibly others. The Red Room had now completely vanished with Dreykov dead and all known Widows either cured or dead, so these were mainly for people who would benefit from them, like each other and others that could use them as potential protective devices. While working, Yelena brought up their old conversation in Budapest, "Natasha, do you still think you'd never want children?"
"Probably not. What about you?" She sighed, "I don't think I've ever been the type to be a mom. To humans at least. I'm already a mom to Fanny, and that's good!"
"Yeah, and I'm proud to be his auntie Nat" They chuckled together. "Nanotech Widow's bites...now these things would be next level."
"Yeah...still needs some time though. We can't rush it. Also, auntie Nat reminded me. Do you want to go to Iowa sometime soon?"
"Yeah, sounds great. They haven't seen us in a while. Let's surprise them."
"Yeah, but for now we do this." The sisters put on protective suits, and tested the bites out. They didn't feel anything, but they became unable to move, as they were supposed to. However, the nanotech component hadn't fully worked out yet, so they needed to work on that. Several hours later, they went back home. Yelena took her America Akita, Fanny, out to play frisbee for a bit. Meanwhile, Natasha began cooking them dinner. Yelena threw a frisbee above the dog at higher speed, and he unexpectedly did a backflip and caught it. She couldn't believe her eyes, she'd taught him a new trick. She knew she had to show Natasha after their trip. Right before she could throw again though, she got a call from Natasha, saying that dinner was ready. She walked Fanny back home, and they enjoyed a chicken rice dish together. She got the recipe from a website online, and Yelena told her that she was getting really good at this. They said that Iowa will be really nice. They get to meet Clint again, and spend time with his kids. Obviously, they loved his kids very much. But it was also an excuse to go to amusement parks and do kid things without it being weird. Yelena then quickly called Kate Bishop, a very young lady who was mentored by Clint and now shares the Hawkeye mantle with him, to watch over Fanny while they go to Iowa. Yelena told Nat that they should do something quick before going to bed. She pulled her computer out, and played a song on Spotify. Her username, Yung Yelena, was at the suggesting of Sam Wilson, whose username was reluctantly named as Bird Boy.
"A long long time ago...I can still remember" Yelena delicately sang. Natasha immediately beamed, and started singing along to it with her. This was their favorite song from their childhood, and it would always be their favorite. Natasha hugged her sister, and whispered in her ear as they quietly stopped singing for a moment. "Don't tell anyone we do this." Yelena said, "Our secret is safe with us." As she hugged back, they then stepped back and continued singing. Natasha usually came off as really cold to many people, but she could be very sweet to the people she was friends with. However, Yelena was the only person that she truly felt like she could be herself around anymore. Maybe Clint, but he had his own family and life to take care of. At heart, they were both still kids. It's just that Natasha expressed it less. They were closer to each other, as their bond had always been more real than the one that they had with their surrogate parents. Melina and Alexei were still just living in Russia, but were aware of their daughters' lives in Ohio now. About nine minutes later when the song was over, Natasha suddenly said, "Y'know, you've been doing really well with your voice." "Really? Thanks. I've been trying." Yelena had a much more American-sounding accent now, as she had been trying to change it ever since she moved back to Ohio. They decided to get ready for bed, as they would fly out to Iowa in their jet the next night. In a way, they were being good friends to the man who saved Natasha's life. But in another way, they were making up for...lost time.
