Happy Sunday! Sorry for the no update last Sunday. I swear I'm trying my hardest to get better, but for some reason, I am having the hardest time sitting down and writing. I used to love it but now I'm struggling, hard. I hope you guys enjoy!

Chapter Forty-Four

Our spa day was actually really nice. We did everything she wanted to do, which really helped take her mind off things. She needed to enjoy her day that way when Jasper proposed, she'd be over the moon happy. And I have to admit, the spa treatments were incredibly soothing and wonderful. If I had the extra money, I'd make it a regular thing.

"Watch your makeup!" Alice gasped as we raced into Edward's apartment and the decorative sheer curtain brushed passed my face.

"It's fine," I waved her off. "We're running late."

"Nice to see you ladies," Carlisle said from the couch.

"Yeah, Alice. We told you five." Edward teased as he looked at his watch.

"Actually, it's Bella's fault we're late!" Alice said as we dashed up the stairs.

"Don't lie to get out of trouble." Edward said.

"She's not!" I called back with a laugh.

Esme and Rosalie were waiting for us in Edward's room. As soon as his door was shut, we started stripping out of our clothes.

Esme waggled her finger. "Alice I know you love to make a fashionable entrance but—,"

"It wasn't me this time, it was Bella!" Alice complained as she stripped down to her bra and underwear.

Rosalie and Esme looked over at me.

"Keeping everyone at the spa for a ridiculous amount of time is something Alice usually does." Rosalie chuckled with an eyebrow raise.

I rolled my eyes. "It was me. It was one hundred percent me. Sorry everyone. It was my first time at a spa."

"It's alright, Bella," Esme said as she helped me slip my dress on.

"What? You forgive her so easily?" Alice complained as she shimmed into her dress.

"Yes well, this is the first time she's done it." Rosalie laughed as she helped Alice.

Esme helped me into my dress, tying the back up for me. I looked at both her and Rose, taking in their appearances.

Esme was wearing a beautiful, floor length soft pink dress. It was covered in gorgeous gemstones that made it shimmer in the light. Her caramel-colored hair was pulled over to the side, held there by a diamond encrusted flower clip.

"You look so beautiful Esme," I told her.

"You're too sweet," She smiled. "You look so beautiful too."

"Thank you."

I looked over at Rosalie who was wearing a long, white overcoat. Her hair was pushed back with a blue and pink head band. I was excited to know if she was having a boy or a girl. She looked very beautiful, like she was glowing.

"All done," Esme said when she finished. "You look so beautiful. Would you like me to take a picture of you for your mom? I bet she'd love to see you all dolled up."

I made a face. "I'm not talking to my mom right now."

"Oh," Esme said in surprise. "Okay, well, there will be plenty of photographers that will get great pictures of tonight."

"That'll be great. Edward and I need some new pictures," I chuckled. "The only one we have is from the newspaper."

"Alright I'm finished," Alice said as she slipped her ruby red shoes on. "Can we go now?"

Esme looped her arm through mine and lead us down the stairs where the men were waiting. Jasper was the first to see us coming down and quickly stood to greet Alice, wearing a very wide smile.

"You look so beautiful, alley-cat," He said as he kissed her cheek.

"Thank you," She beamed at him, "You look pretty handsome for prince charming."

I controlled my smile as I watched those two kiss. It made me happy that tonight Jasper would be proposing and all of Alice's worries would end.

"Well, look at you," Edward said from behind me. I smiled widely before turning and looking him up and down.

"You don't look as ugly as usual," I teased.

"Har, har," He chuckled. "You look stunning. Very beautiful in fact. I've never seen you like this. It's weird, but I love it? But I also love your kicked back look. My favorite is you naked though."

I put my hands on my hips, narrowing my gaze. "Are you drunk?"

"I may be a little tipsy," He said, pinching his fingers together to indicate how tipsy he was. "Jasper and I were pregaming shots before y'all got here. It's tradition."

"Tradition to get drunk before a party?"

He leaned forward, pressing his lips against my ear and whispered. "Jasper's proposing to Alice, so it's tradition to bring an expensive liquor to the men in the girl's family. And its tradition to drink that entire bottle before he proposes. It blesses the union."

"I don't believe you," I laughed. "How many shots did you take?"

He thought about it, "Jazzman, how many shots did we take?"

"You took six," Emmett laughed boisterously.

Esme's eyes widened before her head sharply turned to Carlisle. "You better not—!"

"I didn't," Carlisle said with his hands up in a defensive position. "I know I'm not allowed to drink."

"Yeah, dad didn't drink any mom." Edward smiled widely. "I swear."

"I hope you don't get sick," I told Edward. "It's been awhile since you've drank like this."

"If I get sick will you take care of me nurse Swan?" He grinned. "I have a nurse's costume here that you can borrow. It's got matching panties."

"Oh my god," I blushed with a laugh. Drunk Edward didn't have a noise control on his voice, so he said this at a normal volume.

"Bella I apologize for my son's crudeness." Esme shook her head. "You are not allowed to drink anymore tonight and if I catch you drinking, I will embarrass you in front of your girlfriend."

"Yes ma'am," Edward said, somewhat sarcastically. She swatted at him, which he clumsily duck and then childishly hid behind me. "Don't let her beat me."

"I will help her beat you," I snorted. "No more drinking or else you're really going to get sick."

"Alright," He sighed in disappointment. "I won't drink anymore beautiful."

"Come on," Alice said impatiently. "The limo's here, we've got to go."

I felt slightly silly walking out of Edward's apartment all dolled up. People stared but the Cullens seemed to not notice their stares. Or maybe they did, but they didn't care.

I'd never been in a limo before, so when I slid in, I was eagerly looking around at the large vehicle. Edward slid closely beside me, closer than he needed to be. I swatted at him.

"Scoot over, you have plenty of room," I told him.

He laughed. "I just want to be close to you."

"Scoot!" I snapped as I pinched his arm. He laughed but did move.

The ride to Carlisle's and Esme's home was one filled with wine, which Edward was not allowed to partake in, music, and a variety of food platters. It was actually a lot of fun. About twenty minutes from the Cullen's home, Esme made Edward move so she could sit beside me.

"I wanted to talk to you before the party," She said in a hushed tone. "So, Aro and his wife are coming to the party tonight."

"Oh," I nodded. "That's okay. Aro and I are on a good page."

"Okay good," She smiled. "I was hesitant to invite them, but Aro reached out and practically begged me to let him come."

"I guess it's a good thing they're coming though, he can keep Felix in line."

Esme cocked her head to the side in confusion, "Felix isn't coming?"

"Yeah, him and Tanya are coming," I said, swallowing the lump in my throat. I didn't mean to tell Esme right here before the party because I knew she'd be pissed, and I didn't want her to be pissed at me.

"Where did you hear this?" She asked.

"Um, Tanya told me she got an invitation at dinner a week ago. I'm sorry."

"No no," she said, patting my knee. "Don't be sorry. I just don't know where they'd get an invitation from. Does Edward know?"

"No I didn't tell him."

She sighed, "God I hope tonight goes smoothly. If I knew Felix and Tanya was coming, I wouldn't have let Edward drink."

"Do you think he'll show himself?" I asked nervously as I looked over at him; he was laughing a little too hard at something Emmett had said.

"I hope not." She said before catching the look on my face. "Don't worry though, it's not because he holds any flame for Tanya. I'm more so worried about how he's going to be with Felix. Those two have never gotten along."

"I think it'll be okay. They've seen each other before."

"Yeah but not with him being this drunk." She sighed. "I'm afraid he might cause issues to rehash the past."

"Don't worry, if he starts, I'll kick him in the nuts."

Of course out of the entire conversation, Edward did hear that. He turned his head sharply.

"Kick me in the nuts? What did I do?" He asked.

I smiled. "If you act out tonight because you're drunk, your mother gave me permission to kick you in the balls."

He gave his mom a hurt look. "Mommy, how dare you. I thought you wanted me to have kids."

Esme blushed, covering her face with embarrassment. "Edward Anthony Cullen, when you sober up tomorrow I am going to kill you."

He laughed and shoved his way between us, wrapping and arm around me. His breath stunk of booze, and I knew he was going to be so sick tomorrow. I was glad I had off so I could tease him about it.

"I love you," He told me before kissing me on the cheek.

I grinned. "I love you to. And I'm especially going to love you when you're sick tomorrow."

"You're going to take care of me Nurse Swan?"

I patted his cheek, chuckling. "We'll see. I'm just going to stick around just to tease you."

He grinned widely. "Well, I love it when you tease me."

"Don't be gross," I said. "Now, get yourself together, we're about to pull in."

"I'm going to carry you over my shoulder into the party."

"You do that, and I will bite you. Hard."

"Did you stop to think that maybe I do want you to bite me?" He chuckled, pressing his face into my neck.

"Oh stop," I said, swatting him away. "You're breath stinks."

He blew into my face, teasingly. I grabbed him by the crotch, squeezing a little to hard for his liking.

"Oh, shit, okay, I'll stop. I'll stop," He begged, his hands on mine. "I'll behave."

I released him. "Good. You better straighten up because that was your only warning. Next time, I'm ripping it off."

In mine and Edward's little playful squabble, I looked over to see Carlisle, staring at us. I blushed, but then noticed that there was a smile on his face and a slight twinkle in his eye. It reminded me of my dad, and then reminded me that I needed to call him.

"Edward, you and Bella first." Carlisle gently reminded him. "And I know you're drunk and having fun, but you need to pull it together now. Especially for tonight." He gave him a pointed look before looking at Jasper and Alice. I wasn't sure what the exchange meant, but Edward straightened up very quickly.
