{"Sarah! I missed you!"}
I glared with a scoff, "No" I crossed my arms as Theta pouted still holding the uniform. "But my love, we have to go undercover and I don't have anything to put you as, a student teacher would look great on you." He eyes me up and down causing me to sigh and blush.
"Fine. But you owe me"
His smile brighten immensely as he stared at me with lust in his eyes. "Oh sweetheart once this is over you won't be complaining." I rolled my eyes and snatched the outfit from his hands, gently placing a kiss on his cheek before heading to the bathroom.

Up on the first floor, there is a change of class. The teacher enters, wearing a brown suit and white sneakers and a woman in a student teacher outfit from the high school. "Good morning, class. Are we sitting comfortably?" Theta asks as he writes on the board while I stood off to the side behind the desk. Super uncomfortable but Theta loved the outfit on me.
He actually wanted to keep it for later.
"So, physics. Physics, eh? Physics. Physics. Physics! Physics. Physics, physics, physics, physics, physics, physics, physics. I hope one of you is getting all this down. Okay let's see what you know. Two identical strips of nylon are charged with static electricity and hung from a string so they can swing freely. What would happen if they were brought near each other?" I rolled my eyes as a young boy with spectacles puts his hand up.
"Yes, er, what's your name?" Theta pointed at the boy, "Milo." The boy muttered causing Theta to smile widely, "Milo! Off you go." He cheered the kid on, "They'd repel each other because they have the same charge."
"Correctamundo! A word I have never used before and hopefully never will again. Question two. I coil up a thin piece of microwire and place it in a glass of water. Then I turn on the electricity and measure to see if the water's temperature is affected. My question is this. How do I measure the electrical power going into the coil?"Just one hand goes up. Everyone else looks totally bored, "Someone else. No? Okay, Milo, go for it."
"Measure the current and PDs in an ammeter and a voltmeter." Milo answered easily, "Two to Milo. Right then, Milo, tell me this. True or false. The greater the dampening of the system, the quicker it loses energy to its surroundings."
"False."
"What is non-coding DNA?"
"DNA that doesn't code for a protein."
"Sixty five thousand nine hundred and eighty three times five?"
"Three hundred and twenty nine thousand nine hundred and fifteen." I frowned as I moved around to the front of the desk. "How do you travel faster than light?" I asked the boy, "By opening a quantum tunnel with an FTL factor of thirty six point seven recurring." Theta's jaw drops as I raised my eyebrow at him. I turned back to Theta who frowned back at me, this kid was out of the world smart.

Chips are still on the menu here. A young blonde slops mash onto Theta's tray with a glare. He walks away with a grin, he was happy that she got this job. His smug smile said everything about it as Rose plopped food onto my trap with another glare shot at me. A little later she goes over to wipe his table, "Two days." Rose snarled angrily while Theta pointed at a stain on the table.
"Sorry, could you just? There's a bit of gravy. No, no, just, just there." I snorted slightly at the situation, ever since this morning Rose had been more clingy with Theta and he didn't like it at all. It seemed after being dubbed thee Dame Rose by Queen Victoria, Rose decided to get a spur up her ass. Then Mickey calls and she's even more into trying to get Theta to pay attention to her. While I get amusement from it, Theta gets irritation and Rose is still clueless to the max.
She's definitely getting her fight back now that time has passed since Christmas. Sure, she was nice for a while or a least trying to be but it didn't last very long. Let's just see how those three chances she gonna get will play into her decision to continue being childish.
"Two days, we've been here." She huffed plopping herself down next to Theta who scooted away from her as she stuffed her face with his lunch. "Blame your boyfriend. He's the one who put us onto this. And he was right. Boy in class this morning, got a knowledge way beyond planet Earth." I told her as she turned to me and eyed my chips after eating Theta's, "You eating those chips?"
Theta scoffed an looked at her with irritation as I pushed my plate towards her, "You need to eat more. Why are you sharing your food?" His voice drifted through my mind. I smiled, it's definitely been a minute since we've mentally spoken now that Rose knows about us. "They're a bit different." I spoke with a shrug.
He wouldn't know seeming as Rose at all of his before he could so he quickly snatched one up only to gag an spit it out causing me to raise an eyebrow. "I think they're gorgeous. Wish I had school dinners like this." Rose shot him a look of disappointment that he didn't like them while he looked at her in disgust.
"It's very well behaved, this place." I spoke with a frown as I looked at all the kids, "Mmm." Rose mumbled not paying any attention to her surroundings as she continued to eat.
"I thought there'd be happy slapping hoodies. Happy slapping hoodies with ASBOs. Happy slapping hoodies with ASBOs and ringtones. Huh? Huh? Oh, yeah. Don't tell me I don't fit in." The head dinner lady comes over.
"You are not permitted to leave your station during a sitting." She glared heavily at Rose who gulped at her, "I was just talking to this teacher and the student teacher." Theta looked up at the woman an waved while I silently watched her. "Hello." He waved at her to which she glared at him causing me to cock my head, I could have sworn I heard her hiss.
"He doesn't like the chips." Rose continued as she stuffed another into her mouth causing me to sigh, "The menu has been specifically designed by the headmaster to improve concentration and performance. Now, get back to work." The woman growled with a vicious glare before walking away causing Rose to stand up angrily.
"See? This is me. Dinner lady."
"I'll have the crumble."
"I'm so going to kill you."
Theta snickered before looking back at me with a smile on his face as he looked me up and down. "What?" I asked cocking my head to the side causing him to take a deep breath. "Nothing. You're just the most beautiful thing here is all." I blushed an cleared my throat looking away from him causing him to chuckle.
As I looked away from him I spot a dark teacher walking over to a girl with a pony tail, "Melissa. You'll be joining my class for the next period. Milo's failed me, so it's time we moved you up to the top class. Kenny, not eating the chips?" Kenny is eating a home prepared lunch from a Tupperware box, "I'm not allowed."
"Luke. Extra class. Now." Luke and Melissa follow Mister Wagner out. Headmaster Finch stands on a balcony overlooking the canteen and watches it all. I turn back to Theta who was staring at me making me blush again, "Stop staring dork. Pay attention to your surroundings." I muttered as I picked up my tray and began to walk away. He quickly fumbled with his own as he tripped to catch up with me, "How can I when your here?" He asked, neither of us noticing Rose watching with a jealous glare.
Her anger and jealously finally starting to get the better of her again. Sure, he had threaten her but she knew he wouldn't do anything. He liked her to much to do anything and the only reason why he was hiding that was because he didn't want to hurt Kate. He loved her and she just had to show Kate so they could be together once and for all. I mean how could he just change how he felt when in the Van Statten museum he opened the bulkhead door after the Dalek said to save the girl he loved. You can't just change those feelings! He was only trying to make the Timelady happy because they were that last of their kind.

Rose is drying up when other dinner ladies wheel a large cooking oil drum through. It has lots of strange symbols on the side. They are wearing breathing masks and heavy duty protective gauntlets. "Careful. Keep it steady. Don't spill a drop. I said, keep it steady. Careful. That's it. Easy now. Steady."
Rose's phone rings, "Right. Second barrel. Quickly now!
"What you got?" Rose asked, "Confirmation. Mickey is using the internet somewhere with books in the background. "I just got into army records. Three months ago, massive UFO activity. They logged over forty sightings. Lights in the sky, all of that. I can't get any photos, because then it gets all classified and secret. Keeps locking me out." With the message - Torchwood Access Denied
"Tell you what, though.
Three months ago, turns out all the kitchen staff were replaced. And this lot are weird."
"See? There's definitely something going on. I was right to call you home."
"I thought maybe you called me home just, well, just to call me home." Rose shrugged, she hadn't gotten any attention lately from The Doctor because of Kate so why not Mickey?! "Do you think I'd just invent an emergency?" Mickey scoffed over the phone.
"You could've done." Rose insisted with a smile. "That's the last thing I'd do. Because every time I see you an emergency just gets in the way." The next barrel of oil topples over. One of the women gets splashed and starts screaming, "I've got to go."
"Get her up, get her up!"
"Rose, what is it?"
The injured woman is hustled into the office and the blinds are pulled down. Rose redials. "What're you doing?" She asked Rose who had the phone to her ear. "Calling an ambulance." Rose stated with a frown. "No need. She's quite all right." There is a whumph! like a sudden fire, and a scream. "It's fine. She does that." The woman goes back into the smoke filled office. Rose sees that the spilt oil has eaten through metal.

It was recess and all the teachers where in the lounge. Theta thought it best for me to be there as well, using the excuse that it would get me used to these things since I was a student teacher and all that.
"Yesterday, I had a twelve year old girl give me the exact height of the Walls of Troy in cubits." One of the teachers explains in shock, "And, it's ever since the new headmaster arrived?" I asked with a frown causing the man to nod. "Finch arrived three months ago. Next day, half the staff got flu. Finch replaced them with that lot, except for the teacher you replaced, and that was just plain weird, her winning the lottery like that."
"How's that weird?"
"She never played. Said the ticket was posted through her door at midnight."
"Hmm. The world is very strange." The Headmaster enters with a woman behind him, "Excuse me, colleagues. A moment of your time. May I introduce Miss Sarah Jane Smith. Miss Smith is a journalist who's writing a profile about me for the Sunday Times. I thought it might be useful for her to get a view from the trenches, so to speak. Don't spare my blushes." Both me and Theta being to smile. It was Sarah Jane! Oh I haven't seen her in so long.
Theta was just excited as I was as we watched her, Finch leaves. "Hello." She smiles shyly as Theta speaks without thinking, "Oh, I should think so." He laughed out causing her to look confused, "And, you are?"
"Hm? Er, Smith. John Smith. And This is Kate." She gave us a sad smile as memories were brought up by our names. "John Smith. I used to have a friend who sometimes went by that name and his wife Kate. Oh she was wonderful." I almost couldn't hold in the tears as Theta gripped my hand, "Well, it's a very common name."
"He was a very uncommon man. Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you. Yes, very nice. More than nice. Brilliant."
"Er, so, er, have you worked here long?"
"No. Er, it's only my second day."
"Oh, you're new, then. So, what do you think of the school? I mean, this new curriculum? So many children getting ill. Doesn't that strike you as odd?"
"You don't sound like someone just doing a profile." I cocked my head with a pointed look, "Well, no harm in a little investigation while I'm here." She winked at me causing me to smile, "No. Good for you." Sarah moves away from the scary grinning Theta as I snorted. "Good for you. Oh, good for you, Sarah Jane Smith."
——————
It's after dark when we get back to the school, this time Mickey joined along. I had finally changed back much to Theta's displeasure. "Oh, it's weird seeing school at night. It just feels wrong. When I was a kid, I used to think all the teachers slept in school." Rose muttered as she reached for Theta's arm only to have him move away to the other side of Mickey next to me. "All right, team. Oh, I hate people who say team. Er, gang. Er, comrades. Anyway, Rose, go to the kitchen. Get a sample of that oil. Mickey, the new staff are all Maths teachers. Go and check out the Maths department. I'm going to look in Finch's office with Kate. Be back here in ten minutes."
We head towards the office, "She just won't stop." He grumbled as he wiped his hand on his pants causing me to raise an eyebrow. "Are you okay?" I asked cocking my head at him. "No, I'm not okay. The ape that has done nothing but insult and endanger you; the woman I love with everything in me. She won't leave me alone, why is it so hard for her to understand and why can't I get rid of her?" He huffed out at me as he turned with a dark frown.
I stared at him with a gentle smile before pulling him into a deep hug causing him to sigh happily. "It'll be okay, just a little longer." I told him as I looked up at him my chin on his chest causing him to smile down at me. "I just hope she uses up her three chances." He mutters before he drags me along.
—————
Sarah Jane chases something flying in an upper corridor. Rose gets the oil sample as instructed, then looks up as something screeches overhead. Sarah Jane opens a storeroom door to discover the Tardis parked inside.
"Hello, Sarah Jane."
"It's you. Oh, Doctor Oh, my God, it's you, isn't it. You've regenerated. And who are you?" She asked me with a frown as I smiled brightly at her. "Now that's just rude." I teased causing her eyes to widen, "Katie!" I laughed and rushed towards her throwing myself at her. "Sarah! I missed you!" I exclaimed happily as she pulled away to get a good look at me. "You've regenerated too." She looked between the two of us as Theta came to wrap an arm around me.
"Yeah. Half a dozen times since we last met." I spoke with a smile looking up at Theta as he looked down at me with a smile. "You look incredible." She breathed out with a laugh, "So do you." I spoke, "Huh. I got old. What are you doing here?" She asked with a confused frown changing the subject. "Well, UFO sighting, school gets record results. I couldn't resist. What about you?"
"The same. I thought you'd died. I waited for you and you didn't come back, and I thought you must have died. You went back for Kate and I was so worried." My head snapped towards Theta as he cleared his throat and looked away. He never told me he went back for me, "We lived. Everyone else died." He spoke sadly as we both frowned at the thought of our planet burning.
"What do you mean?" She gasped, "Everyone died, Sarah." I explained as his grip tighten on my waist.
"I can't believe it's you." Mickey screams. "Okay, now I can!"Rose runs up, "Did you hear that? Who's she?" Rose spoke with a jealous look causing Theta to roll his eyes. "Rose, Sarah Jane. Sarah Jane, Rose."
"Hi. Nice to meet you. You can tell you're getting older. Your assistants are getting younger." Sarah smiled trying to be kind. "I'm not his assistant." Rose snarled angrily causing Theta to roll his eyes as he took of down the corridor while Sarah watched her follow. Turning to me she raised an eyebrow, "In love with him? Huh." I nodded causing her to roll her eyes and continue on with me.
Making it to the classroom, Mickey is standing there with a panicked look. "Sorry! Sorry, it was only me. You told me to investigate, so I started looking through some of these cupboards and all of these fell on me." He pointed to the rats in bags on the ground, "Oh, my God, they're rats. Dozens of rats. Vacuum packed rats." I cleared my throat and rolled my eyes, "Nice observation." I mused causing her to glare at me.
"And you decided to scream."
"It took me by surprise!"
"Like a little girl?"
"It was dark! I was covered in rats!"
"Nine, maybe ten years old. I'm seeing pigtails, frilly skirt." Theta teased as we watched, Sarah and I mildly amused by him but Rose wasn't having it. "Hello, can we focus? Does anyone notice anything strange about this? Rats in school?" She scoffed at the thought, although she wouldn't know. She dropped out for a boy, "Well, obviously they use them in Biology lessons. They dissect them. Or maybe you haven't reached that bit yet. How old are you?"
I smiled at Sarah who raised an eyebrow at Rose, "Excuse me, no one dissects rats in school anymore. They haven't done that for years. Where are you from, the dark ages?" Rose snarled as she moved closer to Sarah causing me to step between. "Anyway, moving on. Everything started when Mister Finch arrived. We should go and check his office." Theta grumbled out as he gripped my hand and moved out of the room with the other following behind.
"I don't mean to be rude or anything, but who exactly are you?"
"Sarah Jane Smith. I used to travel with the Doctor."
"Oh. Well, he's never mentioned you."
Rose smirked smugly causing Theta to turn with a glare, "Your right Rose, I never mentioned her because I don't need to tell you everything. And frankly we aren't close enough for me to tell you everything about my past. Sarah is a good friend to me and Kate so we'd appreciate it if you treated her with more respect." Theta snapped at Rose as we all stared at him. Sarah in happiness that she was being defended, Mickey in shock and Rose in hurt that he was talking to her that way.
"Theta, Baby." I spoke in Gallifreyan causing Rose to glare and Sarah to smile. I grabbed his hand letting him take a deep breath before he nodded and gave me kiss. Smiling he walked away with me in tow, "Do you know what she said?" I heard Mickey ask as they followed after us. "Yeah, she spoke Gallifreyen to him. She said his name and calmed him down." Sarah explained causing Rose to turn with a snarl.
"You know his name?! How can you speak Gallifreyen?!" Sarah raised an eyebrow at the girl. "Kate taught me some Gallifreyen but I don't know his name in their language I just know how it sounds because she used to say it a lot when he was moody." Sarah explained with a fond smile at the memories while Rose seethed in anger.
Wasn't she supposed to know everything about him?! He told her his name was The Doctor! This wasn't going to do, no she was going to have to step up her game. She was going to be the one he would end up with no matter what!
Outside the Headmaster's office, Theta uses the sonic screwdriver on the lock. "Maybe those rats were food." Theta muttered as Rose pushed herself past me closer to him, "Food for what?" She asked as Sarah raised an eyebrow at me. She knew I wasn't the type of person to let that shit slid, hell I didn't with her when she went through her phase but I was going to wait it out with Rose. She'll get what coming, I won't need any help with that.
"Rose, you know you used to think all the teachers slept in the school? Well, they do." Giant bats are hanging from the ceiling, "No way!" Mickey runs causing the rest of us to run after him. One wakes when the Doctor shuts the door.
—————
Out in the school yard Mickey gasps in shock, "I am not going back in there. No way." He shakes his head with wide eyes as Rose looked at us. "Those were teachers." She stated as a matter of fact causing Theta to nod with a thoughtful look, "When Finch arrived, he brought with him seven new teachers, four dinner ladies and a nurse. Thirteen. Thirteen big bat people. Come on."
"Come on? You've got to be kidding!"
"I need the Tardis. I've got to analyse that oil from the kitchen."
"I might be able to help you there. I've got something to show you two." Sarah said with a wide smile as she led us to the car park.
In the boot of Sarah's car is, "K9! Rose Tyler, Mickey Smith, allow me to introduce K9. well, K9 Mark Three to be precise." Theta cheered happily as he looked our old friend over. I loved K9 he was one of the best companion Theta ever had. "Why does he look so disco?" Rose muttered with a disgusted look, "Oi! Listen, in the year five thousand, this was cutting edge. What's happened to him?"
"Oh, one day, he just, nothing." Sarah shrugged sadly, "Well, didn't you try and get him repaired?" Theta asked with a frown. "Well, it's not like getting parts for a Mini Metro, Beside, the technology inside him could rewrite human science. I couldn't show him to anyone." She had a point. "Ooh, what's the nasty lady done to you, eh?"
K9 is getting rusty round the edges. Something is watching them from midair. "Look, no offence, but could you two just stop petting for a minute? Never mind the tin dog. We're busy." Rose snapped, she totally meant offense. A giant alien bat creature flies across the face of the full moon.
——————
Rose and Mickey are at the counter while the Doctor, Kate and Sarah Jane have put the defunct K9 on a table. The musak is Love will tear us apart by Joy Division. "You see, what's impressive is that it's been nearly an hour since we met her and I still haven't said I told you so." Mickey spoke with a smirk, he was enjoying this. After the way she had been treating him, he was glad she was getting a taste of her own medicine.
"I'm not listening to this." Rose glared at him, "Although, I have prepared a little I was right dance that I can show you later." He teased further.
"Two quid, love." Rose pays for a portion of chips, "All this time you've been giving it, he's different, when the truth is, he's just like any other bloke and a married one at that." Mickey spoke only for her to turn to him with a snarl, "You don't know what you're talking about. And their not married!" She snarled, "Maybe not. But if I were you I'd go easy on the chips." Mickey spoke with an eyebrow raised as she looked at him with a chip hanging from her mouth.
——————
"I thought of you on Christmas Day. This Christmas just gone? Great big spaceship overhead. I thought, oh yeah, bet he's up there." Sarah smiled and let out a laugh as she watched us,
"Right on top of it, yeah. With Kate." Theta smiled at me causing me to smile back. "And Rose?" His smiled turned into a frown as he continued his work, "She was there too." I spoke for him.
"Did I do something wrong, because you never came back for me. You just dumped me." Sarah asked, this was their conversation. I wasn't involved in this one because I was on Gallifrey preparing for the war at the time. "I told you. I was called back home and in those days humans weren't allowed." Theta defended with a frown, I knew he felt guilty for leaving her behind but he couldn't help it.
"I waited for you. I missed you." She teared up as she watched him causing him to awkwardly keep his eyes shifted away from her, "Oh, you didn't need me. You were getting on with your life." She scoffed gently, "You were my life. You know what the most difficult thing was? Coping with what happens next, or with what doesn't happen next. You took me to the furthest reaches of the galaxy, you showed me supernovas, intergalactic battles, and then you just dropped me back on Earth. How could anything compare to that?"
"All those things you saw, do you want me to apologise for that?" He asked with a frown, "No, but we get a taste of that splendour and then we have to go back." She did have a point, I felt bad for the ones he had to leave behind and could relate to them in some way.
"Look at you, you're investigating. You found that school. You're doing what we always did."
"You could have come back."
"I couldn't."
"Why not?" Theta keeps working on K9, "It wasn't Croydon. Where you dropped me off, that wasn't Croydon." Theta winced when my head turned to him an I gave him a glare, "Where was it?" I asked her with a frown. "Aberdeen." Theta's eyes widened and his mouth dropped open, "Right. That's next to Croydon, isn't it?" I smacked him as K9 comes back to life. "Oh, hey. Now we're in business."
"Master. Mistress."
"He recognizes us."
"Affirmative."
"Rose, give us the oil." Theta demanded causing her to flinch, "I wouldn't touch it, though. That dinner lady got all scorched." Rose warned as she hesitated to give it to him but he snatched it from her hand. "I'm no dinner lady. And I don't often say that." The Doctor smears a sample on to K9's probe, "Here we go. Come on, boy. Here we go." Theta muttered to him with a smile. "Oil. Ex ex ex extract. Ana ana analysing." Mickey let out an excited laugh, "Listen to him, man. That's a voice."
"Careful. That's my dog." Sarah warned playfully, "Confirmation of analysis. Substance is Krillitane Oil." K9's voice echoed through my head as my eyes widened, "They're Krillitanes." I stated as Theta nodded at me with a frown and a far away look, "Is that bad?" Rose asked as she placed a hand on Theta's arm causing him to wince and pull away.
"Very. Think of how bad things could possibly be, and add another suitcase full of bad." Theta spoke with a frown, "And what are Krillitanes?" Sarah asked turning to us as well finally looking away from K9, "They're a composite race. Just like your culture is a mixture of traditions from all sorts of countries, people you've invaded or have been invaded by. You've got bits of Viking, bits of France, bits of whatever. The Krillitanes are the same. An amalgam of the races they've conquered. But they take physical aspects as well. They cherry pick the best bits from the people they destroy. That's why I didn't recognise them. The last time I saw Krillitanes, they looked just like us except they had really long necks."
"What're they doing here?"
"It's the children. They're doing something to the children."
——————
They put K9 back in the boot of Sarah's car, "So what's the deal with the tin dog?" Mickey asked with a frown causing me to snort. "The Doctor likes travelling with an entourage. Sometimes they're humans, sometimes they're aliens, and sometimes they're tin dogs. What about you? Where do you fit in the picture?" Sarah explained then turned to Mickey with a smile. "Me? I'm their Man in Havana. I'm the technical support. I'm. Oh, my God. I'm the tin dog." I smiled an patted his back, "Your more than the Mickey Smith."
Rose and Theta come out of the coffee shop, he looked super annoyed while she was looking desperate and angry, "How many of us have there been travelling with you?" She demanded loudly causing him to roll his eyes and sigh. He stopped not to far from Mickey, Sarah and I, "Does it matter?" He whined like a child causing her to frown. "Yeah, it does, if I'm just the latest in a long line. I thought you and me were. I obviously got it wrong. I've been to the year five billion, right, but this? Now this is really seeing the future. You just leave us behind. Is that what you're going to do to me?"
"You're right. You got it wrong because there is no you and I. I don't age. I regenerate. But humans decay. You wither and you die. I have to live on. Alone with Kate. That's the curse of the Time Lords." Before Rose could say anything else there was a hiss through the air, "Time Lord." Theta looks up as the giant bat swoops down. I manage to raise a shield up just in time as it aims for me, "Was that a Krillitane?"
"But it didn't even touch her. It just flew off. What did it do that for?" I looked down at my hands with wide eyes, I just used a shield. I haven't been able to do that since the museum. I knew I could, don't get me wrong I just wasn't strong enough after using it for fifty years straight.

Next morning, the pupils are arriving at the school, "Kate, Rose and Sarah, you go to the Maths room. Crack open those computers, I need to see the hardware inside. Here, you might need this." Rose holds out her hand, but the Doctor gives the screwdriver to Sarah causing her to glare. I snorted lightly at the scene, "Mickey, surveillance. I want you outside."
Mickey frowned at us, "Just stand outside?" He scoffed in shock. "Here, take these you can keep K9 company." Sarah throws Mickey her car keys. "Don't forget to leave the window open a crack." Theta smirked at Mickey who frowned back and threw his hands up, "But he's metal!"
"I didn't mean for him."
"What're you going to do?"
"It's time I had a word with Mister Finch."
——————
Sarah isn't making progress with the school computers, I wasn't going to into the middle of the fight that was about to happen so I sat off to the side listening to them but staring at my hands. I've been trying all night an I just can't seem to control it yet.
"It's not working." Sarah huffed with a frown, "Give it to me." Rose snapped angrily. "Used to work first time in my day." Sarah muttered with a frown, "Well, things were a lot simpler back then." Rose snipped causing me to growl. I was getting sick and tired of her attitude, she wasn't allowed to treat Sarah Jane like that.
"Rose, can I give you a bit of advice?" I asked with a cock of my head as she turned around to face me with a seething glare. "I've got a feeling you're about to." She snapped turning back to the desk and tried to work the sonic only to frown when it didn't work. I jumped off the desk and walked over, "I know how intense a relationship with the Doctor can be, and I don't want you to feel I'm intruding." Sarah started as Rose turned to me with a frown, her mouth dropping open in anger and shock when I snatched the sonic out of her hands.
"I don't feel threatened by you, if that's what you mean." Rose snarled, glaring at me as I moved under the desk to work. "Right. Good. Because I'm not interested in picking up where we left off." Sarah tried to reassure with a sad smile but Rose want having it. "No? With the big sad eyes and the robot dog? What else were you doing last night?"
"I was just saying how hard it was adjusting to life back on Earth." Rose scoffed under her breath at Sarah, "The thing is, when you two met they'd only just got rid of rationing. No wonder all that space stuff was a bit too much for you." I growled lowly, turning to them about to say something but Sarah held up her hand. "I had no problem with space stuff. I saw things you wouldn't believe."
"Try me." Rose scoffed with an eye roll,
"Mummies." Sarah started. "I've met ghosts." I rolled my eyes, "Robots. Lots of robots." Here we go.
"Slitheen, in Downing Street."
"Daleks!"
"Met the Emperor."
"Anti-matter monsters."
"Gas masked zombies."
"Real living dinosaurs."
"Real living werewolf."
"The Loch Ness Monster!" Sarah shouted out causing Rose to pause. "Seriously? Listen to us. It's like me and my mate Shireen. The only time we fell out was over a man, and we're arguing over the Doctor." I scoffed and stood up, "He's not yours to fight over Rose." I spoke and crossed my arms causing her to glare at me and turn back to Sarah.
"With you, did he do that thing where he'd explain something at like, ninety miles per hour, and you'd go, what? and he'd look at you like you'd just dribbled on your shirt?" She asked with a fond smile, "All the time. Does he still stroke bits of the Tardis?" Sarah asked me with a laugh, "Yeah! Yeah, he does. I'm like, do you two want to be alone?"
They have officially bonded as Theta enter, "What wrong with loving on Sexy?" I muttered.
I roll my eyes at them an walk over to him with a smile. Opening my arms, he pulled me into a hug an placed a kiss on my head. "How's it going?" He muttered to me as they kept laughing.
"What? Listen, I need to find out what's programmed inside these." We both frowned as hysteria sets in between them. "What? Stop it!" Theta snapped with a frown, "Ignore them."
—————-
Finch opens the door on the dinner ladies and teachers, "Brothers, we must initiate the final phase. Get the children inside and seal the school. Our time has come, my brothers. Today we shall become Gods."
——————
Games of football and netball are interrupted by a klaxon, "All pupils to class immediately. And would all members of staff congregate in the staff room." An announcement rings throughout the school. "Breaktime's finished early. Isn't that fantastic?"Kenny is the last to go inside.
——————
Rose turns children away at the door, "No, no. This classroom's out of bounds. You've all got to go to the South Hall. Off you go. South Hall!"
——————
"What is it now, Mister Finch?" Teacher parsons asks, "A slight change in the timetable. We're having an early lunch." Wagner shuts the door, Flaps and screams come from inside.
——————
Theta does his old trick of looping wires around his neck and shoulders as he tries to get inside the CPU. "I can't shift it." He muttered with a frown, "I thought the sonic screwdriver could open anything!" Sarah exclaimed, "Anything except a deadlock seal. There's got to be something inside here. What're they teaching those kids?" Kenny doesn't go into a classroom.
——————-
"Close the school." Alien symbols come up on his computer screen, then Security Override. He burps. The external doors all slam shut. In another computer room, the children are typing quickly again.
———————
The symbols are all on these screens too, "You wanted the programme? There it is." Sarah pointed out nodding towards the screens. "Some sort of code." It starts to resolve itself. Kenny runs along the corridors, looking into the classrooms. All the children are working at computers. He runs downstairs to the main entrance, and tries to open the doors. Mickey spots him, "No. No, that can't be."
——————
"They've taken them all!" Kenny shouts through the door. "What?" Mickey asks with a frown as he watched the kid mouth something. "They've taken all the children!" Mickey pushes the buttons on K9's back. "Come on, I need some help." He hits K9's head, and it starts up. "System restarting. All primary drives functioning." Mickey laughed excitedly, "You're working! Okay, no time to explain. we need to get inside the school. Do you have like, I don't know, a lock picking device?"
"We are in a car."
"Maybe a drill attachment?"
"We are in a car."
"Fat lot of good you are." Mickey scoffed with a eye roll, "We are in a car." K9 repeated once again. "Wait a second. We're in a car." He looks towards Kenny, "Get back!"
—————-
"The Skasis Paradigm. They're trying to crack the Skasis Paradigm." My eyes widened as I recognized the code while Theta gapped in shock as well. "The Skasis what?" Sarah asked with a frown looking towards the both of us as Rose stood behind us keeping her eyes on Theta. "The God maker. The universal theory. Crack that equation and you've got control of the building blocks of the universe. Time and space and matter, yours to control."
"What, and the kids are like a giant computer?" Rose asked with a frown an a scoff, "Yes. And their learning power is being accelerated by the oil. That oil from the kitchens, it works as a, as a conducting agent. Makes the kids cleverer." Theta explained causing her to nod then look down at herself with a gap, "But that oil's on the chips. I've been eating them."
Rose pointed to herself in shock, I don't think she realized that the oil only works on kids. "What's fifty nine times thirty five?" I asked with a smirk, causing her to immediately answer back. "Two thousand and sixty five. Oh, my God." She realized with her mouth wide open.
"But why use children? Can't they use adults?" Sarah asked with a frown, clearly she as well as us were the only ones thinking about the kids unlike Rose who was flipping out because she was super smart for a little bit all because of some oil. "No, it's got to be children. The God maker needs imagination to crack it. They're not just using the children's brains to break the code, they're using their souls."
The Headmaster has entered the room, causing each of us to turn an look at him. "Let the lesson begin. Think of it, Doctor. With the Paradigm solved, reality becomes clay in our hands. We can shape the universe and improve it." He explains with an evil look, "Oh yeah? The whole of creation with the face of Mister Finch? Call me old fashioned, but I like things as they are." Theta smirked at him cockily, "You act like such a radical, and yet all you want to do is preserve the old order? Think of the changes that could be made if this power was used for good."
"What, by someone like you?"
"No, someone like you. The Paradigm gives us power, but you could give us wisdom. Become Gods at my side. Imagine what you could do. Think of the civilisations you could save. Perganon, Assinta. Your own people, Doctor, standing tall. The Time Lords reborn."
"Doctor, don't listen to him."
"And you could be with him throughout eternity. Young, fresh, never wither, never age, never die. Their lives are so fleeting. So many goodbyes. How lonely you must be, Kate, Doctor. Join us."
"I could save everyone." Theta spoke from behind me causing me to suck in a breath, "Yes." Finch smiled evilly his eyes lighting up.
"I could stop the war." I turned to Theta an smacked him on the chest with a glare. "No. The universe has to move forward. Pain and loss, they define us as much as happiness or love. Whether it's a world, or a relationship, everything has its time. And everything ends and as your Queen I say so." I growled out as Theta throws a chair at the big screen, smashing it. "Out!"
—————
Mickey drives Sarah's car through the glass doors, "Come on!"
——————
Finch summons his brother. They throw off their disguises in the corridors and fly to him. Mickey and Kenny meet the Doctor, Kate, Sarah Jane and Rose at the bottom of the staircase, "What is going on?" The Krillitanes are coming.
—————-
Finch walks in followed by the bats, "Are they my teachers?" Kenny asked with wide eyes as I grabbed him and pulled him behind me to protect him from the evil. "Yeah. Sorry." I muttered watching them "We need the Doctor and Kate alive. As for the others? You can feast." The Krillitanes swoop. They hide under the tables. Suddenly a laser beam fells one of the bats. Finch is furious.
"K9!" Sarah and I cheer happily as he continues to shoot at them, "Suggest you engage running mode, mistress." Theta grabs my hand an pulls me along while I grab for Kenny. "Come on!"Everyone runs, "K9, hold them back!" Theta demands as he pushed me out the door. "Affirmative, master. Maximum defence mode." The Doctor seals the doors.
"Power supply failing."
"Forget the shooty dog thing."
"Power supply failing."
"It's the oil. Krillitane life forms can't handle the oil. That's it! They've changed their physiology so often, even their own oil is toxic to them. How much was there in the kitchens?" I asked Rose as we huddled together as a group. "Barrels of it." The Krillitanes are battering at the door.
"Okay, we need to get to the kitchens. Mickey." Theta turns to him causing Mickey to roll his eyes, "What now, hold the coats?" I couldn't help but snort at the sarcasm. "Get all the children unplugged and out of the school. Now then, bats, bats, bats. How do we fight bats?" Kenny sets off the fire alarm. The noise hurts the Krillitane's ears. The humans escape.
—————-
Finch manages to punch through the wall and pull out the alarm wires. The noise stops, "Get after them."
————-
"Master."
"Come on, boy. Good boy."
—————-
"Okay, listen everyone. We've got to get out of here." The children don't hear him, or notice when he waves his hand in front of their face.
—————
Theta tries his sonic screwdriver on the barrels of oil, "They've been deadlock sealed. Finch must've done that. I can't open them." He frowns in thought, trying his hardest to process a plan in order to get everyone out and kill the bats. "The vats would not withstand a direct hit from my laser, but my batteries are failing." K9 explains, "Right. Everyone out the back door. K9, stay with me."
—————-
Mickey follows the computer power leads back to - a single wall switch. Click, fizz, and the screens go blank, "Everyone get out. Now!" The children get up, "Come on, move! Let's go! Let's go!" The Krillitanes pause to disguise themselves as humans again.
——————
The Doctor lines up the oil barrels for K9 to shoot at and pushes everyone out of the room. "Capacity for only one shot, Master. For maximum impact, I must be stationed directly beside the vat." K9 speaks causing The Doctor to turn back with a shake of his head an sad eyes. "But you'll be trapped inside."
"That is correct."
"I can't let you do that."
"No alternative possible, Master."
"Goodbye, old friend."
"Goodbye, Master."
"You good dog."
"Affirmative."
——————
Theta seals the door, "Where's K9?" Both Sarah and I ask, Theta shooting me a look. "We need to run." Theta grabs me as Sarah gasps, "Where is he? What have you done!"
——————
"When you find him, eat him if you must, but bring me his brain." They find K9 who is waiting for them, "The little dog with a nasty bite. Not so powerful now, are you?" K9 fires a sustained burst at the nearest barrel. The Krillitanes get splattered with their own oil.
"You bad dog."
"Affirmative."
The school goes KaBOOM! The children rejoice as paper rains down on them, "Yes!"
"I'm sorry." Theta apologizes with a sad look, "It's all right. He was just a daft metal dog. It's fine, really." Sarah bursts into tears and Theta tries to comfort her but has no luck so I grab her an pull her into a hug giving him a smile over her shoulder. A smile that told him it was okay, and when I did I reached my hand out allowing him to grab it before he was pulled into out hug.
—————-
The TARDIS has relocated itself from the destroyed school to Belle Vue Park. Sarah Jane walks up and the Doctor steps out, "Cup of tea?" He asked nodding his head towards the inside causing her to smile.
——————
"You've redecorated." Sarah gasped happily as she looked around. "Do you like it?" He asked her with a bounce in his step causing me to laugh and shake my head. "Oh, I, I do. Yeah. I preferred it as it was, but er, yeah. It'll do." She stuttered out, I smiled. "I love it. I always love her. " I breathed out giving Theta a smile as he pulled me closer to him. Sarah sending Rose a look who was about to start something trying to distract her. "Hey, you what's forty seven times three hundred and sixty nine?"
"No idea. It's gone now. The oil's faded."
"But you're still clever."
"You and me both. Doctor?" Rose snapped us out of our moment, both looking over at them. "Er, we're about to head off, but you could come with us." Theta offered with a gentle smile but she shook her head, "No. I can't do this anymore. Besides, I've got a much bigger adventure ahead. Time I stopped waiting for you and found a life of my own."
"Can I come? No, not with you, I mean with you. Because I'm not the tin dog, and I want to see what's out there." Rose immediately frowned and began shaking her head no. Not like she had any decision on who can be in the TARDIS after what had happened before, "Oh, go on, Doctor. Sarah Jane Smith, a Mickey Smith. You need a Smith on board." Sarah smiled at us as Mickey turned excitedly.
"Okay then, I could do with a laugh." Theta teased causing me to smack him, "Rose, is that okay?" Mickey asked her, his face turning as he watched her fake smile clearly not wanting him to come along.
"No, great. Why not?"
"Well, I'd better go."
"What do I do? Do I stay with him?" Rose asked as she eyed Kate and The Doctor. "Yes. Some things are worth getting your heart broken for. Find me, if you need to, one day. Find me." She knew that Rose had no place in The Doctors heart, she may have once but the moment you messed with Kate then that was the moment she lost him.
Kate was the most important person to him and if anyone messed with her then beware because the Oncoming Storm would become their enemy.
——————
We step outside the TARDIS leaving the other two. "It's daft, but I haven't ever thanked you for that time. And like I said, I wouldn't have missed it for the world." She tells us with a happy yet sad smile. "Something to tell the grandkids." He teased with a laugh, "Oh, I think it'll be someone else's grandkids now."
"Right. Yes, sorry. I didn't get a chance to ask. You haven't? There hasn't been anyone? You know." He asked trying to get some information on her life since he hadn't been in touch for a while. "Well, there was this one guy. I travelled with him for a while, but he was a tough act to follow plus he was with someone else. Goodbye, Doctor. Kate." I nod back with a smile, we both knew she wasn't going to get a goodbye from me.
"Oh, it's not goodbye."
"Do say it. Please. This time. Say it."
"Goodbye, my Sarah Jane." He lifts her off her feet in a big hug, then goes back inside the Tardis, I quickly pull her in for one last hug causing her to laugh before I too move into the TARDIS. Sarah Jane turns her back and walks away as the Tardis starts to dematerialise. At the last moment, she turns back to see, "K9!"
"Mistress."

This one was a little different, with other chapters I do switch it up but this one got more into depth on how Rose was finally showing her true colors. We will see how things continue on.
Another thing, I am having them a little younger because of something I'm going to do after The Wedding of Sarah Jane. So he's probably around 853 and she's about 795.
BTW - I do post announcements and I hope you guys can contribute in some of them.
Thank you guys for reading!!
