{"Why do they always give them the benefit of the doubt?!"}
I hummed happily as Theta's hands ran along my arms. The warmth of his body and the bath making sure to keep the shivers away. After the star whale, Amelia had gone to change and get rest, Fay too had bounded away so it was just Theta and I. The man I loved decided that we both deserved a nice relaxing bath, so here we were. He hummed gently in my ear as I leaned my head against his chest in peace. The voices I've been plagued with, finale settling into silence with him. "I love you." He murmured gently, I didn't bother to open my eyes. To tired to do so, but I still made sure to respond in kind before I fell asleep. "I love you, too." It's been a long time since I've slept, and it felt really damn good.
:••:••:••:••:
When Theta and I had awoken the next morning, I noticed he had dried me and dressed me. Giving him a kiss, we both changed clothes. The TARDIS giving us a clean pair of the same clothes we wore yesterday, we had just finished before Fay came bounding in the room. "Come on, adventure awaits!" She cheered happily before running out of the room causing Theta and I to laugh following after her.
The Tardis materializes in a filing room. A buzzer sounds in Churchill's office, and he smiles. Theta opens the Tardis doors to stare down the barrels of three Lee Enfield rifles, made in Britain, which move aside to reveal the PM. We all move to step out, Amelia now wearing actual clothes, a heavy set man stands before us smoking a cigar. "Amy? Winston Churchill." Theta introduces as he gestures between them. Winston smiles, "Doctor. Is it you? Kate? And little Fay, how have you been my dear?" She laughs as he gently poked her in the stomach, before moving to shake my hand. "Oh, Winston, my old friend." Churchill holds out his hand towards Theta and beckons, with a smirk. "Ah, every time." Theta grumbled, "What's he after?" Amelia asked as I crossed my arms with a small smile. "Tardis key, of course." I stated with a smirk of my own, "Think of what I could achieve with your remarkable machine, Doctor. The lives that could be saved." Churchill uttered out as he raised an eyebrow, "Ah, doesn't work like that." Theta spoke with a shake of his head.
"Must I take it by force?"
"I'd like to see you try."
"At ease."
"You rang?"
We are now following after the man, who leads us further down into a tunnel like corridor. "So you've changed your face again. It's been a while, Fay's grown bigger." He sent the little girl a smile, I laughed with a nod. "Yes, she has. Means she's healthy." I stated as fact, he nodded in response. "Yeah, well, had a bit of work done." Theta also answered with a small smile as we continued along. "Got it, got it, got it. Cabinet War Rooms, right?" Amelia asked looking around in awe at the sight. "Yep. Top secret heart of the War Office, right under London." Theta spoke excitedly as he picked Fay up and spun her around. "Daddy." She groaned slightly, causing him to pout a little as he stopped and pulled her close. "You're late, by the way." Winston snipped, a lady meets us as we continued on. "Requisitions, sir." She holds a clipboard with a pen, "Excellent." He signs, "Late?" I asked with a frown, giving Theta a look who shrugged in response.
"I rang you a month ago." Winston replied with a raised eyebrow, "Really? Sorry, sorry. It's a Type Forty Tardis, it's. I'm just running her in." I smack his arm gently as he lied. "Something the matter, Breen? You look a little down in the dumps." Winston asked the woman who had been following after us silently. "No, sir. Fine, sir." She replied with a fake smile. "Action this day, Breen. Action this day." Winston told her, "Yes, sir." She smiled, shooting us a small smile in response. She turns to leave as another man comes up to us, "Excuse me, sir. Got another formation coming in, Prime Minister. Stukas, by the look of them." Amelia was bouncing around behind us, she kinda looked like she was hyper on sugar. I raised an eyebrow as I watched her, Theta wasn't paying her mind as he held Fay. "We shall go up top then, Group Captain. We'll give them what for. Coming, Doctor?" Winston asked turning to us, my head turning back to them. "Why?" We asked together, "I have something to show you."
We enter a lift, Amelia, Fay and I standing in the back with Theta and Winston up front. Winston stares at him for a moment, blowing smoke from his cigar at Theta, to which he waved it away with a grimace. I snorted lightly as I tapped on his back. "We stand at a crossroads, Doctor, quite alone, with our backs to the wall. Invasion is expected daily. So I will grasp with both hands anything that will give us an advantage over the Nazi menace." Theta and I immediately perked up, "Such as?" I asked cocking my head to the side, ever since we arrived I've had a bad feeling. A familiar bad feeling, I just couldn't seem to place it. "Follow me." The lift comes to a stop and the doors slid open.
:••:••:••:••:
We head down a long hallway before climbing up steps, Winston opening a door that lets the light in. We all wince for a second before we move outwards. Sandbags and sentries, and a white-coated scientist searching the skies with powerful binoculars. Fay and I took the middle, with Winston and Theta leading; Amelia followed close behind. "Wow." She uttered out in awe, "Doctor, this is Professor Edwin Bracewell. Head of our Ironsides Project." I shudder at the name, a familiarity coming as my hearts began to race. I tightened my grip on Fay's hand causing her to look up at me with a worried face. Theta gives him a V for Victory salute, "How do you do?" The man shouts before going back to look through his binoculars. "Two flights JU thirty eights approaching from the east."
A bomb lands nearby, Amelia gazes at all the barrage balloons moored over the city. "Oh, Doctor. Doctor, it's..."
"History."
"Ready, Bracewell?"
"Aye aye, sir. On my order, fire!" Energy bolts zoom out from a sandbagged emplacement towards the approaching Nazi planes. Everyone a dead hit and I immediately freeze. No. Why? Why must it be them? Theta's face darkens drastically as he spins to face Winston. "What was that?" Amelia asked, immediately taking note of our shift in demeanor. "That wasn't human. That was never human technology. That sounded like. Show me. Show me. Show me what that was!" Theta bounds up the ladder, I push Fay behind me as Amelia watched with a frown. "Advance." Bracewell commands, "Our new secret weapon. Ha!" A Dalek rolls out from the emplacement. It's designation logo is a Union Flag and it is painted khaki, with an army utility belt around it. "What do you think? Quite something, eh?" My eyes immediately glow as a shield is placed around Fay and Amelia. I quickly move forward, rushing up the ladder to stand next to Theta.
"What are you doing here?" I snarled as it slowly turns to me. "I am your soldier." I growl in anger, "What?" Theta asked with a glare of his own. "I am your soldier." It repeated, "Stop this. Stop now. Now, you know who I am. You always know." Theta growls as he moves in closer, "Your identity is unknown." It responds back, "Perhaps I can clarify things here. This is one of my Ironsides." Bracewell laughs as if it was a pet of his own design. "Your what?" I hissed in anger, my hands start to shake as they glow. "You will help the Allied cause in any way that you can." Bracewell talked to the thing, "Yes." It responds, I scoffed. "Until the Germans have been utterly smashed." It's eye socket moved between us, "Yes." Bracewell smiled widely, "And what is your ultimate aim?" He asked one last time. "To win the war." I let out a shout in anger as it explodes before me. Theta immediately pulling me back as Bracewell shouts in horror, guns are raised as I curl into Theta's arms. "Momma!" She was still protected by my shield, Amelia holding her back.
"Stop!"
:••:••:••:••:
After, Theta rectified the situation; Winston took us into his office where there laid plans, blueprints and documents on the Daleks. "They're Daleks. They're called Daleks." I stated as I paced back and forth, "They are Bracewell's Ironsides, Kate. Look. Blueprints, statistics, field tests, photographs. He invented them." Theta and I fake laugh as I come to a stop. Theta standing in front, leaning against the desk and facing Winston down with a glare. "Invented them? Oh, no, no, no." Theta growled out, "Yes. He approached one of our brass hats a few months ago. Fellow's a genius." Amelia suddenly laughed, "A Scottish genius, too. Maybe you should listen to..." I whipped my head around to face her, "Amelia! Don't." I snarled causing her to flinch back, Fay stood beside me. Amelia looked towards Theta, hoping he would help her but he was already glaring at her too. Theta slowly turned back to face Winston, "He didn't invent them. They're alien." Winston scoffs, "Alien." One glides past the open door, looking in. My body tensed as it's eye socket looks down towards Fay, "And totally hostile." I hissed out. "Precisely. They will win me the war."
We move back into the halls, following after Winston. "Why won't you listen to me? Why did you call me in if you won't listen to me?" Theta snapped in anger, "When I rang you a month ago, I must admit I had my doubts. The Ironsides seemed too good to be true." Winston uttered out with a frown. "Yes. Right. So destroy them. Exterminate them. Hell, have Kate exterminate them. The world would be protected if you just let her deal with them!" Theta snapped in anger, "But imagine what I could do with a hundred. A thousand." I growled in anger as one of the lights above him blew. "We are imagining. You can't control them, you can't populate them. The more there is, the larger the danger to the human race. You have to listen to us!" I pleaded with him as a Dalek goes past carrying a despatch box. "Amy, tell him." Theta spun to face her, she flinched back slightly; a confused look crossing her face. "Tell him what?"
"About the Daleks."
"What would I know about the Daleks?"
"Everything. They invaded your world, remember? Planets in the sky. You don't forget that. Amy, tell me you remember the Daleks."
"No, sorry."
"That's not possible." Theta growls as we move into the war room. "Blue leader to Two squadron and six two three five seven. Over." A man speaks in comms, "Bandits at ten o'clock." Another responds back, "Two three five seven. Over." We pass the man speaking over comms. "So, they're up to something. But what is it? What are they after?" Theta grumbled as he turns to face me, both of us watching our backs. Fay standing between us, "Well, let's just ask, shall we?" She moves towards one, breaking off. "Amy. Amelia!" Amelia taps on a Dalek's shell, I growl. This is why you're still Amelia, until you act like a damn adult. "Can I be of assistance?" It spins around to ask her, "Oh. Yes, yes. See, my friend reckons you're dangerous. That you're an alien. Is it true?" She looks back at Theta with a smirk, and it just reminds us both of Rose. Theta grimaced in disgust causing her to look her while I glare. "I am your soldier." It responds causing me to twitch. "Yeah. Got that bit. Love a squaddie. What else, though?" I pushed between them using my powers, both of them slightly flying back. Amelia grunted as she shot me a glare, "Don't talk to it! Don't try to reason with it, you stupid girl! If you don't know it, and we are warning you about it; then don't fucking disregard us!" I snarled angrily towards her, she kept backing up as I moved in on her. "You stupid humans!" I shouted in anger as I spun back around, shooting my hand out and destroying that one as well.
Guns were pointed at me as Theta ran in front of me, holding out his hands. Fay stood off to the side watching silently, "Winston. Winston, please." Winston nodded to his men, telling them to lower their weapons. My hands and eyes slowly dissipating, "We are waging total war, Kate, Doctor. Day after day the Luftwaffe pound this great city like an iron fist. I'd really appreciate if Kate didn't get started with them." I scoffed as I rolled my eyes. "Wait till the Daleks get started." Theta snipped back, "Men, women and children slaughtered. Families torn apart. Wren's churches in flame." Winston growled out, "Yeah. Try the Earth in flames." I snarled looking over Theta's shoulder as Fay joined us. Amelia was still watching from the side, looking at me with disgust and horror. "I weep for my country. I weep for my empire. It is breaking my heart." Winston moves around the table, Theta following after him. "You're resisting, Winston. The whole world knows you're resisting. You're a beacon of hope." He signs a paper, "But for how long? Millions of innocent lives will be saved if I use these Ironsides now."
"Can I be of assistance?"
"Shut it. Listen to me. Just listen. The Daleks have no conscience, no mercy, no pity. They are my oldest and deadliest enemy. You cannot trust them."
"If Hitler invaded hell, I would give a favourable reference to the Devil. These machines are our salvation." A siren sounds, "Oh, the All Clear. We are safe, for now." Churchill leaves, followed by a Dalek that turned away from Theta's glare. Theta turned to me with a dark look, I nodded before turning to bend down in front of Fay. "Sweetie.." She glared at me, "No, I'm not scared of them. I know you and daddy will protect me. I'm not going back to the Tardis." She crossed her arms, I raised an eyebrow in response before sighing. I looked towards Theta who was giving me a soft look already, we both nodded. "Alright, but you stay beside us, do you understand?" I asked her as I grabbed her shoulders gently. She nods immediately and pulls me into a hug, "It'll be ok, momma. You'll keep us safe. You and Daddy will always keep us safe." My shoulders sagged as tears gathered in my eyes. The weight of the world upon our shoulders once again. I gave her a small kiss on the head before standing up as Amelia rushed over to us. "Why do they always give them the benefit of doubt?!" I asked in announce, "Doctor, it's the All Clear. You okay?" She asked, looking between us confused. "What does hate look like, Amy?" Theta asked her as his fingers twitched, my hand immediately reaching for his. "Hate?" She repeated in question, "It looks like a Dalek. And I'm going to prove it."
:••:••:••:••:
We ended up following Winston into Bracewell's laboratory. "Would you care for some tea?" A Dalek asks, rolling next to him. "That would be very nice, thank you." He responded back with a smile causing me to grimace. "All right, Prof. Now, the PM's been filling me in. Amazing things, these Ironsides of yours. Amazing. You must be very proud of them." Theta starts picking things up and throwing things around. "Just doing my bit." Bracewell laughs, as Amelia copies Theta; picking other shit up. "Not bad for a Paisley boy." She giggles, looking down at Theta who had plopped down in a chair. Fay immediately rushing over to sit on her fathers lap. "Yes, I thought I detected a familiar cadence, my dear." Bracewell shrugged as I stood, leaning against the wall with my arms crossed. "How did you do it? Come up with the idea?" I asked him with a frown, my eyes scanning him over. "How does the muse of invention come to anyone?"
"But you get a lot of these clever notions, do you?" Theta asks as he throws the paper he was looking at back on the table. "Well, ideas just seem to teem from my head. Wonderful things, like. Let me show you." He places Fay in the chair as he loves to look over the man's shoulder. Amelia still touching things and picking stuff up being a nosy child. "Some musings on the potential of hypersonic flight. Gravity bubbles that can sustain life outside of the terrestrial atmosphere. Came to me in the bath." I raise an eyebrow with a different look. "And are these your ideas or theirs?" I asked causing Theta to look over at me, his own eye brow perking up. "Oh no, no, no. These robots are entirely under my control, Doctor. They are.." The Dalek brings Bracewell his tea. "Thank you. The perfect servant, and the perfect warrior." Bracewell laughs as I glare, "I don't know what you're up to, Professor, but whatever they've promised, you cannot trust them. Call them what you like, the Daleks are death."
"Yes, Doctor. Death to our enemies. Death to the forces of darkness, and death to the Third Reich." Winston spoke up, entering the room with another Dalek. "Yes, Winston, and death to everyone else too." I snarled in anger, "Would you care for some tea?" Theta knocks the tray from the Dalek's sucker. "Stop this! What are you doing here? What do you want?" Amelia gasps in shock as she stares in disbelief, probably not expecting him to snap like me.
"We seek only to help you."
"To do what?"
"To win the war."
"Really? Which war?"
"I do not understand."
"This war, against the Nazis, or your war? The war against the rest of the Universe? The war against all life forms that are not Dalek?" Theta snarls in absolute hatred, "I do not understand. I am your soldier." It replies. "Oh, yeah? Okay. Okay, soldier, defend yourself." Theta picks up a huge spanner and starts hitting the Dalek. "Doctor, what the devil? What is with you two?!" Winston grips, "You do not require tea?" The Dalek asks in kind causing me to scoff. "Stop him! Prime Minister, please. She's already picked off two of them!" Bracewell shouts, "Doctor, what the devil? Please, these machines are precious." Winston snaps in anger, "Come on. Fight back. You want to, don't you? You know you do." Theta shouts in its eye socket. "I must protest." Bracewell went to stop him, but I stood in front of him with a cock of my head. He flinched back slightly, "What are you waiting for? Look, you hate me. You want to kill me. Well, go on. Kill me. Kill me!"
"Doctor, be careful." Amelia went to move forward but Fay grabs her, she yanks her hand away. "Like you care, anyway. You were the one questioning it, earlier." Fay stated causing her to scoff and cross her arms in response with a eye roll. "Please desist from striking me. I am your soldier." It replies again, "You. are. my. enemy! And I am yours. You are everything I despise. The worst thing in all creation. I've defeated you time and time again. Kate has destroyed your race over and over. We've defeated you. We sent you back into the Void. We saved the whole of reality from you. I am the Doctor, this is The Queen and you are the Daleks." There was a long pause before it started, "Correct. Review testimony. 'I am the Doctor, this is The Queen and you are the Daleks.'" Theta's body language immediately changed along with mine. "Testimony. What are you talking about, testimony?" I asked moving forwards, "Transmitting testimony now."
"Transmit what, where?"
:••:••:••:••:
A Dalek saucer on the far side of the Moon. "Receiving testimony now. 'I am the Doctor, this is The Queen and you are the Daleks.'" The lights on a golden Dalek-shaped pod light up. "Progenitor activated. Testimony accepted. Testimony accepted."
:••:••:••:••:
A dark grin appears on my face, finally. They will finally see what these monsters are, "Testimony accepted." They repeated again, "Get back, all of you." Theta pushed everyone behind him. "Marines! Marines, get in here."
The two Marines who come through the door are about to be exterminated. My eyes glowing as I blow one up again, it's shouts echoing in the room. The soldiers quickly make a retreat, "Stop it, stop it, please. What are you doing? You are my Ironsides." The last one turn back to the man, "We are the Daleks." It responded, slowly turning its socket to me, my hands moving to use my powers again. "But I created you." Bracewell shouts, "No." The Dalek blows off Bracewell's left hand. It sparks and splutters. "We created you. Victory. Victory. Victory." The Dalek teleports away, just as I let out a shout shooting at him. It explodes in the corner, Thera immediately turns to calm me. I shout, gripping my head in pain. "It's ok, deep breaths. Come on." Theta utters out as Fay quickly rushes over, her hand glowing white as she touches my head. I immediately relax at the relief, "It's ok, momma. I got you." I let out a laugh as I pulled them into a tight hug. "What just happened, Doctor?"
"I wanted to know what they wanted. What their plan was. I was their plan." The three of us stand up, Theta running out of the room dragging Fay and I behind him. "Hey!" Amelia shouts, running after after us. "Testimony accepted. That's what they said. My testimony." He spins around looking at me with a sad look, I gave him a small reassuring smile. "Don't beat yourself up because you were right. So, what do we do? Is this what we do now? Chase after them?" Amelia asked as we arrived at the Tardis, he spins to face her as I look down towards Fay. "This is what I do. yeah, and it's dangerous, so you wait here." I gave Fay a pointed look as Theta told Amelia to stay, Fay immediately grumbled under her breath before moving to stand next to Winston.
"What, so you mean we've got to stay safe down here in the middle of the London Blitz?" Wouldn't be the first companion we've left in the London blitz. "Safe as it gets around me." Theta and I go into the Tardis and it dematerializes.
"What's he expect us to do now?" Amy snaps in irritation, "K B O, of course." Winston utters out as he takes a breath of his cigar. "What?" She huffs out, "Keep buggering on." Fay pointed out with a shrug causing Amy to scoff with an eye roll.
:••:••:••:••:
Theta sets the scanner on search, both of us watching the screen. "Come on. Bingo!" He slowly turns to face me, "Are you ok?" He asked gently, taking my hands as he placed his forehead against mine. I let out a small laugh before I nodded, "Always." He laughed as well, giving me a small kiss. "Yeah. Always." He replied before turning the lever, bringing us towards our destination. The Tardis materializes aboard the Dalek ship floating above earth. "How about that cuppa now, then?" Theta asked with a smirk as we stepped out. "It is the Doctor and The Queen." The only gold Dalek speaks first, "Exterminate." They turn to us, "Wait, wait, wait. I wouldn't if I were you. Tardis self-destruct, and you know what that means. My ship goes, you all go with it." Theta is holding out a Jammy Dodger biscuit, I cock my head in confusion. Where did he even get that? "You would not use such a device." Theta and I both scoff in response, "Try me." Dalek 2 out of 3 rolls forward. "Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah. No scans. No nothing. One move and I'll destroy us all, you got that? Tardis bang bang, Daleks boom! Good boy. This ship's pretty beaten up. Running on empty, I'd say, like you. When we last met, you were at the end of your rope. Finished."
"One ship survived."
"And you fell back through time, yes. Crippled, dying."
"We picked up a trace. One of the Progenitor devices."
"Progenitor? What's that when it's at home?"
"It is our past, and our future."
"Oh? That's deep. That is deep for a Dalek. What does it mean, though?" I asked sarcastically with an eye roll, "It contains pure Dalek DNA. Thousands were created. All were lost, save one." I scoffed, they're like cockroaches. "Okay, but there's still one thing I don't get, though. If you've got the Progenitor, why build Bracewell?" Theta asked with a cock of his head, "It was necessary." Dalek 2 responded, "But why? I get it. Oh, I get it. I get it. Oh ho! This is rich. The Progenitor wouldn't recognise you, would it? It saw you as impure. Your DNA is unrecognisable as Dalek." Theta let's out a laugh, "A solution was devised." Dalek 1 responds, if it could; I would say it sounded mad. "Yes, yes, yes. Us. My testimony. So you set a trap. You knew that the Progenitor would recognise me, the Daleks' greatest enemy. It would accept my word. Our recognition of you. No. No, no. What are you doing?"
"Withdraw now, Doctor, or the city dies in flames." The Gold Dalek, number three threatens. "Who are you kidding? This ship is a wreck. You don't have the power to destroy London." I snapped in annoyance with a scoff, "Watch as the humans destroy themselves." A ray goes out from the spaceship and the lights go on all over the city, I snarl angrily as I move forward a bit. "Turn those lights off now. Turn London off or I swear I will use the Tardis self destruct." Theta threatens before I could, "Stalemate, Doctor. Leave us and return to Earth." My eyes grow dark, our daughter was down there.
"Oh, that's it. That's your great victory? You leave?" I scoff with a snarl, "Extinction is not an option. We shall return to our own time and begin again." I let out a laugh, a long pause sounded after as one of the Daleks began to shake. "I won't let you." I hissed out, as it starts to scream before it blows up. Only two remain, they stare me down. "We have succeeded. DNA reconstruction is complete. Observe, Doctor, a new Dalek paradigm." Another five restyled Daleks glide out from the Progenitor cabinet, each a different colour. "The Progenitor has fulfilled our new destiny. Behold, the restoration of the Daleks. The resurrection of the master race." My eyes flash as I destroy the other Dalek that had been on earth. Now, only six were left in the room. "All hail the new Daleks. All hail the new Daleks." The Gold one chants, before letting out a shrill scream as it too exploded. The final five stare me down as if waiting for me, but I knew my nose had begun to bleed. Theta slowly moved in front of me, "You are the Doctor and the Queen. You must be exterminated." Theta holds out his Jammy Dodger again. "Don't mess with me, sweetheart."
"We are the paradigm of a new Dalek race. Scientist, Strategist, Drone, Eternal, and the Supreme." I scoffed with an eye roll as I whipped my nose.
"Which would be you, I'm guessing. Well, you know, nice paint job. I'd be feeling pretty swish if I looked like you. Pretty supreme. Question is, what do we do now? Either you turn off your clever machine or I'll blow you and your new paradigm into eternity." The white Dalek doesn't hesitate to respond to him, "And yourself." I growled as I moved out from behind him. "Occupational hazard." I snipped in response, "Scan reveals nothing. Tardis self destruct device non-existent and the Queen is too weak." Theta eats his biscuit, as my eyes flash again. "All right, it's a Jammy Dodger, but I was promised tea." An alarm sounds, and I smirk smugly. "Alert. Unidentified projectile approaching. Correction, multiple projectiles." The blue one announces, "What have the humans done?" The white demands, turning to face us. "I don't know." Theta shrugs back, "Explain. Explain. Explain." Suddenly, the PA system connects. "Danny Boy to the Doctor. Danny Boy to the Doctor. Are you receiving me? Over."
"Oh ho! Winston, you beauty." A flight of Spitfires are on their way. "Danny Boy to the Doctor. Come in. Over." Theta spins in a circle with a smile, he grabs my hand and pulls me towards the Tardis. "Loud and clear, Danny Boy. Big dish, side of the ship. Blow it up. Over." We take off, "Exterminate them." Rushing inside, Theta immediately sits me down in the console chair handing me a tissue for the blood. Before he changing the comms to listen in on the battle being waged outside. "Broadsword to Danny Boy. Target the dish and stop that signal. Over." A pilot immediately replies, "Understood, sir. Over. You can count on us. Over. Okay, chaps, let's put London back under cover of darkness. Tally ho! Cover my back, going in close. Pull out, pull out.
We've lost Jubilee, sir. Over."
"Flintlock's down sir, and the dish seems to be protected. Over."
"Danny Boy to the Doctor. Only me left now. Anything you can do, sir? Over." Theta grabs the comm, his body tense as he make's eye contact with me for a second. I nod, "The Doctor to Danny Boy. The Doctor to Danny Boy. Kate can disrupt the Dalek shields, but not for long. It'll kill her, if you don't get this done. Over." Theta snaps slightly over comms, his worry through the roof. "Good show, Doctor. Go to it. Over. I'm going in. Wish me luck. Over." My eyes close, and I can feel the energy flowing through me. My eyes snap open again and their shields are behind disrupted, "Shields de-activated." I spoke, Boom! "Energy pulse destroyed." I announced out loud again as I released my powers. "Direct hit, sir!" Everyone starts cheering over the comms. Up on his roof, the Air Raid Warden watches the lights go out all over London. "Thank the Lord. Do your worst, Adolf." Fay is laughing happily with everyone else, "Danny Boy to the Doctor. Going in for another attack." Danny Boy speaks over the comms, "The Doctor to Danny Boy. The Doctor to Danny Boy. Destroy this ship. Over." Theta's voice was dark as he moved back over to help me. I gently remove his hands, "I'm ok. I promise." I uttered out gently as he nodded back. "What about you, Doctor?" Danny asks, "I'll be okay." He utters, grabbing the comm again for a moment. Suddenly, the white Dalek appears on screen. "Doctor, call off your attack."
"Ah ha. What, and let you scuttle off back to the future? No fear. This is the end for you. The final end." Theta smirks smugly, "Call off the attack, or we will destroy the Earth." I let out a laugh, wincing slightly as I moved to stand next to him; both of us staring the Dalek on screen down. "I'm not stupid, mate. You've just played your last card." Theta hissed in anger, "Bracewell is a bomb." I flinched slightly, as Theta froze. "You're bluffing. Deception's second nature to you. There isn't a sincere bone in your body. There isn't a bone in your body." The Supreme Dalek projects himself into the Tardis on a holo-screen. "His power is derived from an Oblivion Continuum. Call off your attack, or we will detonate the android." I rolled my eyes with a scoff, "No. This is our best chance ever. The last of the Daleks. We can rid the Universe of you, once and for all." I snarled angrily, "Then do it. But we will shatter the planet below. The Earth will die screaming."
"Yeah, and if I let you go, you'll be stronger than ever. A new race of Daleks." Theta looked towards me with a frown, I slowly gave him a nod. I can get stronger, and then I can stop them once and for all. "Then choose, Doctor. Destroy the Daleks or save the Earth. Begin countdown of Oblivion Continuum. Choose, Doctor. Choose. Choose." He sighs with a nod, "The Doctor to Danny Boy. The Doctor to Danny Boy. Withdraw."
"Say again, sir. Over."
"Withdraw. Return to Earth. Over and out."
"But sir."
"There's no time. You have to return to Earth now. Over." The Spitfire returns to Earth and the Tardis materializes in the filing room. Theta grabs my hand and we take off running towards the war room. We run into the room, Thera releasing my hand and jump punches Bracewell on the jaw, knocking him down. "Doctor!" Amelia gapped in shock, I however couldn't believe how attractive that had just been. I quickly made sure to snap out of my thoughts though, "Ow. Sorry, Professor, you're a bomb. An inconceivably massive Dalek bomb." Bracewell groans from the floor as Fay finally comes to stand next to us. "What?" He asks with a wince, "There's an Oblivion Continuum inside you. A captured wormhole that provides perpetual power. Detonate that, and the Earth will bleed through into another dimension. Now keep down." Theta uses his sonic screwdriver to open up Bracewell's torso. One of the five blue segments of a circle on Bracewell's torso turns yellow. "Well?" Amelia asked in panic, "I don't know, I don't know, I don't know. Never seen one up close before." Theta snipped, closing his sonic and running a hand through his hair. "So what, they've wired him up to detonate?" Fay asked looking up at her father, "Oh no, not wired him up. He is a bomb. Walking, talking, pow, exploding, the moment that flashes red."
"There's a blue wire or something you have to cut, isn't there? There's always a blue wire. Or a red one." Theta points at her with a frown, "You're not helping." He snips causing her to shut up, "It's incredible. He talked to us about his memories. The Great War." Winston gapped in shock and horror. "Someone else's stolen thoughts, implanted in a positronic brain. Tell me about it. Bracewell. Tell me about your life." I spoke as I moved around everyone to sit next to him. "Ma'am, I really don't think this is the time." I let out a small chuckle, "Tell me, and prove you're human. Tell me everything." Theta spoke bending down on his other side, catching along with what I was thinking. "My family ran the Post Office. It's a little place just near the abbey, just by the ash trees. There used to be eight trees but there was a storm." Theta started to grow impatient, "And your parents? Come on, tell me." He snipped, "Good people. Kind people. They died. Scarlet fever."
"What was that like? How did it feel? How did it make you feel, Edwin? Tell me. Tell me now." Theta demands, "It hurt. It hurt, Doctor, it hurt so badly. It was like a wound. I though it was worse than a wound. Like I'd been emptied out. There was nothing left." Two red, one yellow and two blue segments now. I continued to study him as Theta questions, "Good. Remember it now, Edwin. The ash trees by the Post Office and your mum and dad, and losing them, and men in the trenches you saw die. Remember it. Feel it. You feel it because you're human. You're not like them. You're not like the Daleks." Bracewell starts to cry, "It hurts, Doctor. It hurts so much." Bracewell whimpers out, "Good. Good, good, brilliant. Embrace it. That means you're alive. They cannot explode that bomb because you're a human being. You are flesh and blood. They cannot explode that bomb. Believe it. You are Professor Edwin Bracewell, and you, my friend, are a human being." Four red, one yellow. "It's not working. I can't stop it." Theta grabs my hand, and Bracewell pauses; his eyes softening as the color's flicker and that's when it hits me.
"Hey, ever fancied someone you know you shouldn't?" He stilled, "What?" He asked gently, as he stared me in the eyes. "It hurts, doesn't it? But kind of a good hurt. The kind of hurt that stays with you at the end of the day." He looks away, "I really shouldn't talk about her." He whispers causing me to laugh, I could feel Theta's eyes one me. "Oh. There's a her." The yellow turns back to blue, "What was her name?" He asked the man, "Dorabella." The man utters out, "Dorabella? It's a lovely name. It's a beautiful name." I smacked him gently, before turning back to the man on the ground. "What was she like, Edwin?" I asked him gently, "Oh, such a smile. And her eyes. Her eyes were so blue. Almost violet, like the last touch of sunset on the edge of the world. Dorabella." All the segments return to blue and everyone cheers.
Theta helps him up, "Welcome to the human race." Theta points at Churchill and Amelia. "You're brilliant." Bracewell, "You're brilliant." He tickles Fay in the stomach who giggles in return before he looks at me. "And you, I love you so much!" He pulls me in for a deep kiss, I moaned against his lips in happiness. He quickly pulls away though, "Now. Got to stop them. Stop the Daleks." He moves to exit the room. "Wait, Doctor. Wait, wait. It's too late." The Dalek spaceship makes the time jump. "Gone. They've gone." Theta grunts in anger, "No. No! They can't. They can't have got away from me again." He shouts spinning in anger as I stand to move beside him. "No, I can feel it. My mind is clear. The Daleks have gone." There was a long silence before Amelia laughs and moves forward. "Doctor, it's okay. You did it. You stopped the bomb. Doctor?" Theta shakes his head, "I had a choice. And they knew I'd choose the Earth. The Daleks have won. They beat me. They've won."
"But you saved the Earth. Not too shabby, is it? Is it."
"No, it's not too shabby."
"It's a brilliant achievement, my dear friend. Here, have a cigar."
"No."
A new morning, and the Air Raid Warden raises the flagpole with the Union Flag on it.
Theta and I had a mission, quickly making sure to finish it up. "Where's the Doctor?" We entered the room just as Amelia asked the question, "Tying up loose ends. I've taken out all the alien tech Bracewell put in." Theta grabs a snack from the table, "Won't you reconsider, Doctor? Those Spitfires would win me the war in twenty hours." I cross my arms, giving him a pointed look. "Exactly." I stated, "But why not? Why can't we put an end to all this misery?" Winston asked again with a sad look, Theta takes a sip of his tea. "Oh, it doesn't work like that, Winston, and it's going to be tough. There are terrible days to come. The darkest days. But you can do it. You know you can." Winston sighs, "Stay with us, and help us win through. The world needs you." Theta just smirks in response as he wraps his arm around my waist. "The world doesn't need me."
"No?" Winston raised an eyebrow, "The world's got Winston Spencer Churchill." Theta raised his arm out, gesturing to the man. "It's been a pleasure, Doctor, as always." Winston laughs, "Too right." Theta agrees with the man. "Goodbye, Doctor." Theta slowly removes his arm from my waist. "Oh, shall we say adieu?" Theta and Churchill embrace, before his pulls me into a hug. He then turns to Fay, giving her a fist bump which she had taught him while we were dealing with the Daleks. "Indeed. Goodbye, Miss Pond." He smiles at Amelia, "It's, it's been amazing, meeting you." She smiles brightly at the man. "I'm sure it has." Amelia kisses Churchill, and he walks away. She suddenly smirks at me smugly before holding her hand out. "Oi, Churchill. Tardis key. The one you just took from the Doctor." Theta chocked on his tea as Winston turns, "Oh, she's good, Doctor. As sharp as a pin. Almost as sharp as me." He reaches into his pocket only to come up empty.
"Yeah, but neither as sharp as me." I spoke holding up the key causing him to laugh. Theta sticks his tongue out childishly at Winston while Amelia frowns looking away from us. "K B O."

"I've been expecting you, Doctor. I knew this moment had to come." Bracewell sighs as we enter his laboratory, "Moment?" Theta asked, completely befuddled. "It's time to de-activate me." Bracewell gave us a pointed look causing me to snort. "Is it? Oh. Er, yeah." Theta bumps my side as I force myself to stop laughing. "You have no choice. I'm Dalek technology. Can't allow me to go pottering around down here where I have no business." He did have a point, "No, you're dead right, Professor. A hundred percent right. And by the time I get back here in what, ten minutes?" Theta states as we move towards the exit. "More like fifteen." Fay utters out with a small smirk. "Fifteen minutes, yeah, that's exactly what I'm going to do. You are going to be so de-activated. It's going be like you've never even been activated."
"Yeah." Amelia stated, trying to be part of the conversation. "Fifteen minutes?" He asked again, looking confused. "More like twenty, if I'm honest. Once the girls and I see to the urgent thing we've got to see to. The, the. See?" Theta pushes Amelia out of the room, "Very well, Doctor. I shall wait here and prepare myself." Bracewell responds with a sad nod, "That Dalek tech a bit slow on the uptake. That thing we've got to do, going to take half an hour, realistically, isn't it, D?" I smirked towards the man I loved, "Easily. So no running off, that's what I'm saying. Don't go trying to find that little Post Office with the ash trees or that girl. What was her name?" He asked with a cock of his head. "Dorabella." He utters out, "Dorabella. On no account go looking for her. Mind you, you can get a lot done in half an hour." The penny finally drops. "Thank you. Thank you, Doctor." He laughs in happiness, "Come along, Love." We turn to leave as Bracewell starts packing a suitcase.
"So, you have enemies then?" Amelia asked as made our way towards the Tardis, "Everyone's got enemies." I stated with a shrug, ours just happened to be the stuff of nightmares. "Yeah, but mine's the woman outside Budgens with the mental Jack Russell. You've got, like, you know, arch-enemies." Amelia stated as she bounded along side us, "Suppose so." Theta responded in kind as we swung Fay back and forth. "And here's me thinking we'd just be running through time, being daft and fixing stuff. But no, it's dangerous and you have a kid." She frowned as she looked towards Fay. "Yep. Very. Is that a problem?" I asked her as I glared, "I'm still here, aren't I? You're worried about the Daleks." She muttered before looking towards Theta whose face darkened again. "I'm always worried about the Daleks."
"It'll take time though, won't it? I mean, there's still not many of them. They'll need a while to build themselves up." I snorted with a shake of my head. They would never understand, "It's not that. There's something else. Something we've forgotten. Or rather you have." Theta spun to face Amelia who frowned in response, she didn't like the direction this conversation turned. "Me?" Amelia pointed to herself with a raised eyebrow. "You didn't know them, Amy. You'd never seen them before. And you should have done. You should." We go inside the Tardis and it dematerializes, revealing a glowing w shaped crack in the wall.
Time was coming to an end, and with the end came the darkness.

Yes, Kate did take Amy's lines.
Yes, Kate is still not as strong as I will be making her.
Yes, Fay has killer healing powers.
Thank you all for the love and support!
I actually kinda dislike this episode, I think it was more or less Amy. I kept getting pissed at her as I wrote this so I may or may not have made Kate kinda a bitch but in retrospect this is her dark era.
Dark Kate is here.
