Galar, Galar Mine

I jinxed myself didn't I, the moment I said "What could go wrong?" everything went wrong. Somehow I managed to get lost in a cave, under normal circumstances that would be understandable, yet somehow I got lost when the cave was lit and had arrows pointing me to the exit, well at least I found a Great Ball. "Who keeps dropping valuable items in a mine?" No seriously, who drops TMs and Super Potions and doesn't notice, are these people made of money? After finding the correct path to the exit, I continued walking and saw both people and Pokémon working hard in the mines to make ends meet 'At least the conditions are better than mines in Africa.' Unlike the games, people don't challenge you out of nowhere, these people have a job to do. On my way out I encountered a Rolycoly, I considered side-stepping it but then considered the advantages of having a future fire type 'Coalossal is a decent Pokémon to use casually but it falls off quite fast competitively, it could be salvaged with weakness policy though...and I do need another Pokémon too.' Without a second thought, I took out the Nest ball I got from route 4 and threw it at the Rolycoly, it seemed surprised when I threw the ball at it but it did not have any time to act before it got caught. Normally Pokémon at full health would have an easy time breaking free of the Pokeball, however, the Nestball is specifically meant to catch weaker Pokémon, like this Rolycoly. After three shakes the ball goes still, "Ding", capture confirmed.

The Galar Mine was an interesting place to say, there were tons of ores being delivered by the mine carts, and it kinda looked like my Minecraft base with all the mine carts moving around, just with Pokémon mixed in, I also took the Heavy-Duty boots from the mine cart next to bridge in the mine. After I exited the mines I arrived at Route 3, now you may be asking why I didn't go to Milo Gym directly, one would be that I had four days before I had to battle him, and the second would be that I was in desperate need of money if I wanted to survive, and this route had what I needed, the Big Mushroom. This item is worth 10,000 bucks, if I collect enough of the mushroom I would no longer have to worry about finance 24/7, I also came to Route 3 to collect the TMs, Rock Blast and Beat Up in particular, while Rock Blast may be useful to teach to Rolycoly, Beat up serves no purpose besides to sell for more money. I went around the route, collecting the Big Mushroom and the TMs, while also getting some berries from the bushes, just then it occurred to me that I should introduce myself to the Rolycoly I caught, first impressions are everything after all, or second impressions. I took Rolycoly's Nestball and released Rolycoly "RO! COLY! ROLY!" Immediately after releasing Rolycoly, it started to panic, and I couldn't fault it for doing so as I literally plucked it out of its home and placed it somewhere else. After waiting a while for Rolycoly to calm down, they came to terms with the situation and just looked at me expectantly, waiting for me to introduce myself 'That was surprisingly quick.' I mentally added that Rolycoly probably has the calm nature "Well it's nice to meet you Rolycoly! As you know, I am the trainer who caught you, so to introduce us better I will introduce you to the current team, while I ask you some questions." Rolycoly thought about it for a second before nodding "Alright, so here is Porygon." I took out Porygon Pokéball and released it "Pory, Porygon." While I still may not know Poké speech, I could assume that meant "Huh, not bad." Rolycoly turned to look at Porygon and the two started to speak together for a bit before Rolycoly turned back to me "So it seems like you got introduced to Porygon without me explaining, so let me skip all the cheesy talk about friendship and just get straight to the point, do you want to become strong?" Rolycoly thought for a moment and nodded, I smiled "Good, welcome to the bud!" Rolycoly happily cheered 'Are all Pokémon this easy to recruit?'. I felt like I was missing something...oh right! Rolycoly's gender! "Hey, one last question, are you female?" Rolycoly shook its body "Male?" Rolycoly nodded its head, alright I could refer to Rolycoly as he now. I returned both Pokémon to their balls and started backtracking back to Route 4.

After going back through the Galar Mine again, I arrived back at Route 4, where I immediately went to pick up the TM I missed on this Route. After picking up the TM, I started to walk toward Turffield.

The journey took around fifteen minutes on foot to arrive at Turffield. "I've always wanted to see Ireland." I muttered. Turffield was one of the greenest places I've ever seen, only being outdone by certain parts of Ireland and Scotland. The place was a quiet and peaceful place with very few residents, which also meant that most of the businesses were local ones. I went around searching for a place to clean my clothes, luckily there was a laundromat nearby that I could use. I went into the laundromat changing room and changed out of my current attire, the entity who brought me here was kind enough to give me spare clothing, I chose the plain grey shirt and the dark grey pants along with a brown coat. I placed my dirty clothes inside one of the washing machines while making sure I placed my blue coat in a separate one, I paid 10 Poke dollars to get my clothes washed. I exited the laundromat to go explore Turffield, on the way, I went to get a TM next to Turffield station. After walking around picking up items in certain locations, I went to Pokémart to stock up on items. Entering a Pokémart was a strange experience, it looked like a 7-eleven but with a Pokémon spin on it, which also means that every drink inside the Pokémart is an off-brand drink, for example, DR. Nacli, Blue Tauros, Roggencola... 'How many off-brand drinks are there?' I took the iced tea before heading to the Pokéball aisle, I took only two Pokéballs as I was broke 'If I had the money the entire stock would be gone for a month.' I went to the counter to check out the items, but just then I saw a Yamper plushie, I went over to check the price, 400 Poké dollars, bloody hell that's expensive! I am not going to buy that, no matter how cute it is! Yeah, no way am I buying something that overpriced...

I bought the Yamper plushie, I could not resist its cuteness, so what sue me. So after buying all the items, I am left with around 600 Poké dollars. 'I should find a place to eat by now.' On normal occasions, I would simply go to a cheap cafe, however, there was a good-looking Kalosian restaurant, and I hadn't eaten proper French food in a while...

I should start saving my money by now, like I am broke right now. I should start making some money soon but right now my main concern is to find a place to stay, oh yeah, the Pokémon center provides accommodations for Pokémon trainers. I started walking to the Pokémon center to ask for a room. When I got there someone called out my name "William!" I turned my head towards the person who called out my name "It's me, Jaime!" Huh, I did not expect to find him here "How are you doing?" He asked, "I am doing just fine, I also caught another Pokémon." He looked surprised "Already?" He then pointed to the second Pokéball on my backpack "Yup, I caught a Rolycoly." I released both Pokémon to meet with Jaime's Pokémons, without battling this time. The moment I released both of them, they started to have a chat with Jaime's Pokémon, the highlight of the conversation was when Rolycoly and Seedot jumped on Porygon's back to reach the treat Jaime was holding out. "So, are you going to challenge the Gym soon?" I nodded my head "I'll give you a tip, don't challenge the gym trainer if you can avoid them." I nodded once more "I was already planning to avoid the gym trainers." I commented, "You also tread with caution when fighting his Eldegoss, I nearly won with my team but his Eldegoss was too strong!" Did people struggle that much at the first gym? "Have you tried to use Fire types?" Jaime looked sheepish "No?" That explains things "Head to the Galar mine and capture the Carkol roaming around the tracks or trade for a Fire type." Jaime nodded and thanked me for my assistance "Oh, I got to get back home soon." We said our goodbyes and went on our separate ways, I went up to Nurse Joy and asked for a room, however, before she could give me a room she needed my trainer ID. I took out my ID from my backpack and showed her my Trainer license, she then registered my ID into the Pokécenter database and gave me my room card. I headed towards the room and went in 'Finally, somewhere with wifi!' I released both of my Pokémon and took out the laptop from my backpack, I went to connect to the Pokémon center's free wifi and searched for moves that can be taught by TMs to Rolycoly ''let see here, ah Bulbapedia, hmmm...Rock blast?" I took out the Rock Blast TM and held it out 'So how do I use this now? Do I just tap it on Rolycoly?' I taped the TM on Rolycoly and both the TM and Rolycoly glowed for a few seconds before everything went back to normal. "So do you feel anything different?" Rolycoly nodded 'Well then, I'll just assume that it worked and test it out later.' I then went back to searching on the internet or the Pokénet, whatever you call it here, and checked about the current meta, let me tell you it was horrendous, the current meta was just people trying to copy the champion's team and failing miserably, they didn't take into account about the Pokémon's ability and nature, at least it was the loud small minority that thought that way. I searched a bit more and found a website called BattleNet 'Imagine that this is the same website from Borne of Caution.' I clicked on the website and saw the introductory page 'It kinda looks like Smogon strategy website.' I clicked a bit further and saw a place to search for other trainers 'Trainer tracker?' I searched for Leon out of sheer curiosity, only to be met with his statistics, but what caught my eye was that the format of this website was the same as a certain fanfiction I used to read. I then followed up with a search of 'Lee Henson' No results were found, phew for a moment I thought I got inserted into the Borne of Caution universe. After checking the website for about an hour, I concluded that I could track other trainers' statistics and Pokémon but that's where its usefulness ends, Bulbapedia and Smogon University have more information on Pokémon and strategies than BattlenNet. Huh, when you look at the time, it's already Nine, I should head to bed by now, but before I do though, I returned both Porygon and Rolycoly to their respective Pokéballs. I got on the bed and closed my eyes, waiting for another day of journeying.

I woke up remembering that I had forgotten my clothes at the laundromat, I immediately rushed out of the room to the laundromat, and luckily laundromat was open. I went inside to get my clothes, only to realize that my clothes were still wet, I then placed my clothes in the dry washer and paid 15 Poké dollars to have them dried 'I hope I don't forget them at the laundromat again!' I exited the laundromat to head back to my room, on the way back I thought of selling most of the items I had collected for money, most of them didn't serve me any purpose in the first place.

I went back to my room to take my backpack and my Pokéballs, on the way I saw a trainer walk out of the Gym utterly defeated 'Are these people just walking in without a plan?! The first gym can't be that hard.' I arrived back at my room to collect the stuff I needed and went to the Pokémart. When I arrived at the Pokémart, I asked the store clerk if I could sell some items, the clerk told me I could sell items but they would pay me 20% less than the item's worth, normally I would not sell my items here and just sell them somewhere else, however, I was very broke, so I took the deal in the end. After selling nearly all my items and TMS, I now have around 35,0000 Poké dollars, minus 10,000 after I spent them on the plushies, which meant I had 25,000 dollars in reserve. After stopping myself from going on another shopping spree to buy plushies, I went back to my room to test out a few theories. I first released Porygon out of its Pokéball "Pory?" I then took a USB cable I bought "I need you to plug in this cable." Porygon looked confused but obliged, it plugged the cable into its mouth, I then proceeded to search up Hyper Beam and tried to download the move into Porygon, Porygon looked at me as if I were stupid "Okay, to be honest, that was kinda stupid of me." Theorie one, done. I then released Rolycoly from his Pokéball "Rolycoly?" onto theory number two "Can you use Ember?" Rolycoly shook "Alright, let's attempt to teach you it!" For some reason, I felt like something bad was going to happen.

"Quick, Porygon use Ice beam!" Porygon used Ice beam to put out the fire on the carpet 'Alright I'll admit that wasn't my finest moment but how was I supposed to expect Rolycoly to use Incinerate instead of Ember!' I continued looking at the burnt carpet, meanwhile, Rolycoly was running around the room with the excitement of learning a new move 'Alright, I'll also admit that I forgot that Rolycoly can't learn Ember, but still!' After that incident ended, I created a document on Docs to note all of my theories and findings 'I should make myth busters style channel.' At this point, it was already evening, so I went out in search of food.

After eating a fulfilling lunch at a local restaurant, I returned to my room to check BattleNet.

Topic: New Gigantamax forms discovered

Just recently we have discovered two new Gigantamax forms for both Pikachu and Eevee, unlike other Gigantamax forms they do not show any major differences besides, Pikachu it tail becomes fully made of electricity, and Eevee has an increase in fur on the neck. Both Pokémon have a signature Gigantamax move respectively, G-Max Volt Crash, capable of paralyzing any Pokémon on the battlefield, including Ground types. G-Max Cuddle is capable of infatuating any Pokémon of the opposite gender. Currently, we do not know where to find these two Gigantamax forms, we ask for the people of Galar to help us with our research on Dynamaxing. Huh, I did not expect them to not yet discover all Gigantamax, if I checked on BattleNet, there were only documented discoveries of Gigantamax forms for Pokémon that originally had them in Sword and Shield, other Pokémon who had their Gigantamax added later did not have theirs Gigantamax form discovered. 'I should troll them.' The thought of trolling the entirety of the scientific research community of Galar to pass the time sounded extremely funny, besides, it wouldn't get too much popularity, they would just think it was a joke, right? I clicked on their private DMs and copied and pasted the stats of Gigantamax Melmetal. Welp, that's done, time to troll the music community now! I then found a forum to post musical works, I then searched YouTube to find the best song to introduce to the Pokémon world 'Hmm, Turkish march you say, perfect.' I downloaded Turkish March and posted it on the forum, making sure I also credited Mozart as the creator of this timeless piece. 'Welp that's all the trolling I can do today.' I turned to look at Porygon and Rolycoly 'Huh, they returned themselves into their Pokéballs already." Well, I guess it's time to hit the hay. I got on the bed, prepared to go to sleep until a thought entered my mind 'Oh shit, did I even use an anonymous account' But before I could get off my bed, I passed out of sheer exhaustion "Fuck." was the last thing I said before passing out.
